Since the Bloodswap AU won the poll (which btw thank yall so much for voting I legit didn't think so many people would have <3) I wanted to show off some of my outfit ideas for Nepeta as swapped with Feferi!

She has another outfit that fits her general "Huntress" style as that still plays a part with her. It's a large cloak she uses from the remains of a lionfish-like beast. Her crown somewhat hooks around the back of her horns to keep them in place, even though it bugs her that her bangs constantly jab her in the eyes. Her tail is about the length of her body and can be pretty heavy, but she uses the weight to her own advantage in combat.

She still has her claws as weapons but they resemble a fishhook-like style and can be detached.

I'm excited to share the others that'll follow along!

I think part of what really makes me twitchy about "coming back" to tumblr and seeing the same old takes and discourse over and over again is that nobody is saying anything new or profound? Like at the height of my fandom activity, I wrote and read literal thousands of words of meta about all the complex layers of Loki and his universe, as well as the real life implications about some of these in-universe issues, but after the series when the takes started to be *really* divisive (the Ragnarok wank was child's play, tbh, imho), it just seemed more and more pointless to try to participate bc some takes were just so extreme.

So then I come back and I see posts about this or that being problematic, or that x factor reinforces y stereotype, or otherwise promotes or underlines this that or the other Problematic thing, it's like -

- bro, I've analyzed and criticized to hell and back, and at this point, I'm over it. I don't have anything particularly new to say and clearly neither does anyone else, so can we just, like, go back to enjoying the actual material? Yknow?

But idk, maybe I'm on this island alone. I'm also not really expressing myself well, but what can I say - I've lost a lot of braincells over the past year or so; this is the best I've got at the moment.

#part of it too is Real Life #i used to get offended at takes that somehow diminished fiction and our emotional attachment to fictional characters as #'these aren't real people it's not that deep' #and to an extent i still feel like that but at the same time #i've been through some shit in the past year - in addition to having been through Some Shit in my life in general #and somehow fandom and wank and hot takes on fictional characters just doesn't feel as important anymore #people have real problems #*i* have real problems #and i think that's part of it too - it's really hard to try to enjoy fandom as escapism and try to engage with this character i love #when i can't even scroll a few pages on my dash without seeing some post that implies i'm Doing it Wrong #esp. for Moral Reasons or whatever #idk i'm not sure why i even care but i'm in my head a lot these days so here we are #*waits for follower count to drop some more* yessss my prettyyyy. droppppp. #standom frank #mood gif

#nearly posted these on the wrong account but i posted them as a draft first to check the tags... woops x_x #poor lil nightlight became my stressball as i starved to death u_u #welcome home #welcome home oc #wh #wh oc #chicken scratch #nightlight #artists on tumblr #a good chuck of the first drawings were done soon after i had seen reference images that i based nightlights pajamas on... #i should probably do that again since they turn up much better then i use references .w." #Nightlights lore was that they appeared in only like 6 episodes and had a speaking role in like 4. #the last episode they showed up in was when a big storm hit the neighborhood really hard. they were the first to show up at wally's house #seeking shelter as the rain came right into their tree house. though the episode more and more neighbors join wally at their house for #various reasons. half way though nightlight is no longer visable in the group that has gathered at wally's house. at the end of the episode #everyone is gathered in wally's liveing room but nightlight is the only one not there. i haven't decided on anything other than they #'got lost' #somewhere dark where their cheeks slowly flicker and die leaveing them to wander in pitch black. #.... i know its very mean but the imagery was prettyyyy... #i was toying with the idea of them more or less losing what they would have for a mind and becoming a rabid husk like zombie #but idk if i like that version of an outcome... *shrugs* #also i stabed them in archeology class just cuz i was really really hungery ._. this has no lore other than i was bullying them. #also you can see me trying to give nightlight a nose... this didnt stay very long xD
