Secret Admirer
Tumblr media
For RiversDayOfLove, @loki-the-fox prompt: Person A is a secret admirer of Person B and reveals themselves on Valentine’s Day.
Warning: Just fluff.
Loki x reader.
A/n: Snoots are not mine they are from two famous poets.
~To my dearest Y/n~
*Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st;
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
*sonnet 18*
~Truly yours your Secret of Amir.~
The note was attached to the most beautiful arrangement of lily and roses you ever seen. And it was addressed to you. Waiting for you on your desk, when you arrive at the Averages lab. You eyes had widened when you saw them. You could feel your face heat up. As you read the note over and over, before you started.
“All right who done and pissed you off, Y/n?” Tony asked as he walked into the lab noticing the vase of flowers. Which startled you in the process.
“For your info if it was anyone that pissed me off it would be you and I doubt this would be from you.” You held up the note. As Tony read it, haking his head.
“Yeah definitely not me. I don’t do poetry. But hey you have a stocker.” Tony teased.
“Wow, what did you do to piss of y/n this time Tony.” Bruce stated as he walked in noticing the arrangement as well.
“Hey now I have not pissed off y/n in a week.” Tony hissed.
“Well that’s a new Record for you.” Bruce’s chuckle.
“For your information our little y/n has a Secret admirer.” Tony purred. Patting you on the back. “Great job there kid. Now I have to figure out who I have to kill.” Tony walked over to his work table. Both you and Bruce rolled your eyes at the billionaire. As the three of you got to work.
Once your day was over you had planned on going out for drinks with the girls for a much needed girls night. Though you were just going to go right after you worked in the lab. But the unexpected arrangement had you taking them to your room. Not wanting them to get ruined in one day. You made your way through the compound carefully carrying the lager vase of flowers. Trying to make it to your bedroom.
“What in the nine realms are you doing with those.” You heard Loki’s voice somewhere in front of you, not being able to see the god as you view was blocked by flowers. Though you felt you heart sink a little. Deep down you had a small hope that they were from Loki. As he was a lover of book and poetry. You managed to move the flowers away from your face to look at the god.
“They’re um, were on my desk this morning.” You mumbled. “I guess I have an admirer.” You half smiled at the god.
“Well, I hope who ever it is could do better then this.” His voice sounded cold. Like he was annoyed to see you with anything from someone else. The god walked passed you, mumbled to himself.
“I thought they were pretty,” You whispered not think he could hear you. “Though, I thought they were from you.” As you watch him walk away. Finally you made it to your room a little disappointed. Deciding to change for girls night. With Nat, Wanda and Pepper. Taking a quick Once over. Before you left the room. You almost tripped over something. When you looked down you saw a box from Teuscher the up scaled chocolate place at the Rockefeller center. You always treated yourself on your birthday. But it wasn’t just a piece like you normally would, it was a whole box of all your favorite kinds when you opened it. Under the lid you found another poem.
~To my dearest Y/n~
I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
*sonnet XVII*
~Truly yours your Secret of Amir.~
It made you blush as you looked up to see who may have left it. You watched as the elevator door opened, as Loki emerged. He took note at what he saw. You pink cheeks a smile on your face holing a box he recognized. Then pushed the elevator closed with him still in it. With a sigh you set the chocolates in your room. As you left to meet the girls.
This went on for a few days, gifts randomly showing up. Little things that meant a lot. The gift ranged from, slippers so you would touch the cold floor, an at home spa basket you enjoyed taking baths it helped with stress, even earring from your favorite 5th Avenue store. That was probably the most lavish gift. And each one came with a sonnet. Tony tried to help you figure out who had been leaving these gifts. But F.R.I.D.A.Y. Systems always seem to be off line or failed when he looked at the video. That lead you to late nights with the billionaire. Trying to figure out what was going on with his security systems.
Tony had left to go get more coffee, which seemed to take him forever to come back. You figured maybe Pepper stopped him. You rest you head on the table. Thinking of just taking a little power nap. When you woke up, the sunshine in through the blinds. You slept there all night again. But unlike the other time, were you woke up freezing. You noticed a deep green blanket draped around you. You took a deep breath as you did you remember the sent coming from the blanket. Pulling the blanket towards you, you recognized it as Loki cape to his armor. You smiled to yourself as you pulled it closer to you. You were so wrapped up in the fact that loki had done this you never heard Bruce or Tony walk in.
“Y/n did you sleep here?” Bruce asked. Which startled you. Pulling yourself to your feet ball up loki cape. So they didn’t question it.
“I guess I did, I was waiting for Tony!” You hissed, glaring at the man. Who currently looked very sheepish as he walked in. “He was supposed to bring coffee.” Bruce looked over at Tony.
“In my defense Pepper grabbed a hold of me and throw me in bed. For someone who is tiny she is very spry.” Bruce pinched him nose with his fingers, shaking his head. You could only roll your eyes.
“I’m going to call it a day.” You stated as you walked out of the lab not looking back. You could hear Tony yelp, and asked what was that for. “You deserves that.” Knowing Bruce smacked him upside the head.
You were on a mission to find Loki. You had noticed that ever since you’ve been receiving gifts, that Loki would avid you or make some snarky comment. Also you noticed little things. Like this as you held tightly to his cape. Or he had coffee ready for you when you woke up, when went down to the kitchen. Saying that; I figured since I’m making my tea I might as well make yours as well. Only to find out each time it was just how you liked it. Even though you still thought loki had given you the other gifts. When you walked into the Library where Loki frequent you looked around. You were rather shocked not to find him. Maybe he was sparring with his brother. But as you got to the training room no sign of either Asgardains.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y, have you’ve seen with Thor or his moronic brother?” You called up to the A.I. She knew where everyone is.
“I am sorry y/n. I have not, not since morning. And my data shows no one has left the compound.” A.I. Spoke back through one of many speakers above you.
“Uhg,” You huffed in annoyance. “Alright thank you.” You walked off. Not really paying attention to the apology the A.I. Stated. You though maybe he was in his room. But no such luck. Giving up you walking over to your room. Before opening your door you heard muffled sounds like someone or somebody’s having a scuffle in your room. You opened it slowly. But what you saw was not what you expected. Thor had Loki chained to a chair and was fighting his raven hairs brother with what looked to be duct tape. You stood there watching. The brothers had yet noticed you.
“Why is this necessary.” Loki hissed dodging his head at his brother attempt to stick the tape over his mouth. “You know I’ll turn you into a toad again.”
“I told you that if your not going to, someone need to push you in to telling lady y/n.” Thor voice boomed with happiness with his cleaver plan.
“Tell lady y/n what?” You cooed behind the brothers. Both stoping to look over to you standing in the room.
“Ah lady y/n, happy day of love. I have brought you a gift.” Thor beamed with glee in his eyes.
“Surprise.” Loki stated annoyed, as this felt way to familiar to him. Thor patted his brother on his back. As he walked towards you.
“He is all yours lady y/n, do as you please.” Thor smiled proudly. As he left the room shutting the door. Leaving you and the God of mischief alone.
“You know I could explain this.” Loki chuckled nervously.
“Oh, I think I figured it out.” You bit your lip as you walked over the the god. “You’re brother sent the gifts to make you jealous, and when that didn’t work he did this.” You laughed as you stood in front of him.
“Yes. That sounds about right.” Loki smile his charming smile the one that could send your panties to space taking out a Klingon war ship. “Would you mind untying me love?”
“You know I think I like you like this.” You smirked as you sat down on Loki leg facing him. Making the god raise his eyebrow. “I’ll untie you if you can tell me what Thor wants you to tell me.” You whispered into his ear. You felt Loki tense up. Moving your head away from his ear. “I’m listening.” Your face looked unamused. Loki squirmed around in the chair.
“Fine.” He huffed giving in. “I have liked your for some time now darling, and would like to court you. And yes I was rather jealous that someone else may have had taken a like to you.” You smiled at him. “So may I have the honor to take you out tonight as is it your Midgard festival of love. Though I’m not sure why you celebrate love on a day that was a massacre.”
“Oh loki, shut up.” He was about to say something when your lips crashed onto his.
“I take that as a yes.” He mumbled against your lips.
“That’s a yes to massacre you later.” You smirked kissing him one last time before getting off his lap.
“Massacre me as in showing me your undying love right?” Loki asked as you started to walk away from him. “Y/n!” He yelled. Struggling against his binds. As you shut the door to the bedroom.

Valentine’s Day
Pairing: Thor x gender-neutral reader
Prompt: “Where am I supposed to keep this giant teddy bear?!”
Words: 1.8k
Warnings: Mildly suggestive but basically just fluff
A/N: This was written for River’s Valentine’s Day Marvel Writing Challenge so it’s unapologetically fluffy. Thanks so much to @loki-the-fox for letting me be involved. All feedback and comments gratefully received (let me know if the ‘keep reading’ isn’t working!)
Tumblr media
*****
It was as though the clock was broken. Each time you checked it the minute hand had hardly moved, still obstinately stuck at seven-twenty something no matter how much you willed it to say half past seven. Sighing, you checked your appearance in the mirror for the umpteenth time.
Getting ready early for a date wasn’t normally one of your strengths but today was an exception. Today was the first Valentine’s Day since you and Thor had started going out and you simply couldn’t wait to spend the evening with your beautiful man. Just the thought of seeing him made your heart beat a little faster. All day long you’d had one eye on the time, counting the minutes until you could leave work and rush home to your little apartment to shower and change.
Perching on the arm of the couch, you closed your eyes and took a few deep breaths to try to relax. Thor was such a romantic soul that every moment spent with him felt special. You knew how much he loved you, not just with his words (although he did tell you often) but because he made sure to show you in so many ways. Still, the first Valentine’s Day together was an occasion like no other and you just couldn’t help but be nervous.
A loud knock brought you back to reality and you sprang up to throw open the door, expecting to see a gorgeous 6’6” Asgardian towering over you. Instead you were faced with something even more immense than the God of Thunder - a massive fuzzy pink bear wearing a big red ribbon round its neck to form a neat bow tie.
As you stood, mouth hanging open, Thor peeped out from behind the bear with a huge grin on his face. “Happy Valentine’s Day, my love.”
Getting over the initial surprise, you grinned back and reached to stroke the pink fur. “Happy Valentine’s Day, honey. Are you going to introduce me to your friend?”
“I don’t believe it has a name yet. Do you like it?” Beaming from ear to ear, he picked up the cuddly toy and moved it closer. “My friends told me that people usually buy big presents for their partner on Valentine’s Day. And since I love you so much, I got the biggest thing I could find.” Thor’s enthusiasm was infectious and you couldn’t help but giggle as he wiggled the huge teddy at you eagerly. If you hadn’t been head over heels in love with him already, seeing Thor so adorably excited about your present would have melted your heart.
You leaned in unsuccessfully to kiss him, getting a face full of fluffy pink fur instead.“It’s really wonderful, I love it.” Putting your arms round the bear to give it a big hug, you tried and failed to lift it. “Geez, how heavy is this thing?”
With the mighty Thor providing the manual labour and you giving directions, the two of you managed to get your present through the door and into your apartment without too much fuss. At one point, a stray pink fuzzy arm had knocked over a side table, scattering your mail on the floor, but otherwise no casualties. With a satisfied grunt, Thor plopped the bear onto the couch and you bent to straighten out its ribbon.
As you stood up to admire your work, strong arms encircled your waist, pulling you close to a broad, muscular chest. Your eyes closed in bliss as he traced a line of featherlight kisses along the side of your neck, whispering “I love you” against your skin as his lips reached your pulse point.
Swivelling round you took his face in your hands, thumb stroking his cheek as your eyes met his loving gaze. As he leaned closer, you slid your arms around his neck and parted your mouth slightly to tug and suck softly at his lower lip. He sighed happily before capturing your mouth in a kiss, gentle at first but deepening in intensity as desire took over. Finally breaking apart to catch your breath you snuggled against him, intoxicated by the warmth of his body against yours. “I love you too, so much. This is heavenly.”
“Yes it is,” he said, nuzzling into your hair. One of his hands slid down your lower back to rest on your butt, giving a gentle squeeze. “We have a reservation for dinner, but I can cancel it if you wish?”
Although you were keen to find out where his hands might go next, your stomach growled loudly at the mention of food, a reminder that you’d skipped lunch so you could leave work early. “Dinner sounds great right now. There will be plenty of time for cuddling later,” you said, reluctantly pulling out of his embrace.
“Very well,” he chuckled, releasing his hold on you. “Are you ready to go?”
You nodded, but then spied a small parcel and envelope on the kitchen counter. “Oh wait, I haven’t given you your present yet.”
Leading him over, you handed them to him with a smile. “Here. It’s not as big as the bear but I hope you’ll like it.”As you’d expected, he laughed heartily at the card which had a cute cartoon image of him wearing his winged helmet under the message ‘You are a-Thor-able, be my Valentine’. You were less certain about the present though, and chewed at your bottom lip anxiously as his fingers tore at the heart-covered wrapping paper.
His eyes gleamed as he examined the pewter hip flask engraved with the Norse rune for ‘Eternal Love’. “This is wonderful.”
“Is it OK? I mean, I researched it so hopefully the rune means what I think it does but I know you already have a flask and its probably much more valuable... ” You were starting to ramble nervously but he silenced you by pressing his lips to yours.
“The rune means the same in Asgardian, and it is perfect. And this is far more precious than any antique, my love.” After another kiss and one last fond look at the flask, he slipped it carefully into his jacket pocket and stood, holding out his hand. “Shall we go?”
*****
You had hardly managed to turn your key in the lock before his lips were on yours, unable to resist you any longer. Fumbling round him with one hand, you grabbed the handle and pushed the door open with one hand whilst your other slid to the back of his neck, eagerly returning the kiss and encouraging him to continue. Half stumbling through the open doorway and kicking the door shut, you moaned softly against his mouth as bodies pressed together, fingers tangled in hair, hands tugged at clothes.
You were both familiar enough with the layout of your apartment to move across the room with eyes closed, lost in each other. Feeling the couch behind him, Thor blindly dropped backwards onto it, dragging you with him. At least he tried to. He hadn’t accounted for the huge stuffed bear that was taking up most of the seat though and you both bounced off and rolled onto the floor in a tangle of limbs, ending with you lying on top of him.
“Ouch.” You pushed yourself up so you were straddling his lap, groaning as you rubbed your elbow which had taken the brunt of your fall. “Smooth move, lover boy.”
A cheeky grin spread across Thor’s face as his gaze travelled over your body, fingers stroking up your thighs to grasp your hips. “Well, it wasn’t the original plan but this position still works for me.”
Normally you loved that he couldn’t keep his hands off you but landing on the floor in a heap had put a damper on your romantic mood.
“Easy, I need a minute to recover.” Gently slapping his hands away and ignoring his playful protests, you moved off his lap so you were sat on the floor facing him. “Seriously, honey, I love your present and it’s really sweet of you but I’ve got a tiny apartment. Where am I supposed to keep this giant teddy bear?!”
Thor sat up, looking suddenly nervous. “Well I was thinking, why don’t we get a larger apartment? Then there would be plenty of room for the bear,” he said cautiously, watching your face keenly to gauge your reaction.
“Yeah, that’d be great if I could afford a bigger place but that’s...” You paused, eyes widening as your brain caught up with what he’d just said. “Wait. Did you just say ‘we’ should get a bigger apartment?”
He reached out to tenderly take your hand in his. “My love, I know that we have not known each other for very long but you make me happier than I ever believed possible. Being with you is everything to me. So, if you agree, I wish to have a home here on Midgard - with you.”
As he finished speaking you threw yourself forwards, almost knocking him over as you enveloped him in a huge hug.
“Does this mean you agree?” His words were slightly muffled due to the fact that you were half-smothering him.
Although he didn’t seem to mind one bit that his face was squished against your neck, you relaxed your hold on him and rested your forehead against his, wondering how you could be so lucky to be sharing your life with this perfect man. “Oh yes, yes! I want to live together more than anything.”
“We can start looking for somewhere tomorrow, if you like,” he murmured, slightly breathless. “Do you have any ideas of what you want our new home to be like?”
A feeling of warmth spread through your chest at the words ‘our home’.“Anything is fine by me. Just as long as there’s plenty of space for my two gorgeous Thors.” You smiled at him, seeing him frown in confusion. “Oh, that’s what I’m calling my bear. So even when you’re away saving the Universe, I still have a big soft Thor to cuddle up to at night.”
“You like your present then?”
“It’s really lovely. Nearly as wonderful as you,” you said, giving him another hug before turning to look at the bear. “And I really like the red bow tie, it’s a good look. Maybe you can try it on for me?”
Thor looked at the bear’s ribbon and then down at his own clothes. “If you like. I don’t think it goes with this outfit though.”
You ran your hands slowly down his chest, enjoying the feel of the muscles flexing under your fingertips, before starting to undo the buttons of his shirt. “Oh no, I want to see you wearing JUST the bow tie.”
Pulling you closer, he gave you a mischievous grin. “That can definitely be arranged.”

Princesses and Secret Admirers
Masterlist in bio!
A/N: I was really hoping @loki-the-fox would do a Valentine’s Day Challenge because I had an idea going and look! It’s a Valentine’s Day Challenge! This is the 4th installment of the Princesses series (?) but can function as a stand alone. I’m not going to link the previous parts here because I get more traffic without links. But they can all be found in my masterlist.
Prompt: Who’s it from? Your secret admirer?
Pairings: Dad!Thor x Daughter
Summary: Someone has a crush on Thor’s daughter
Word Count: 2k
Warnings: Just cute fluff, over protective Thor and other Avengers
Coming home was always Thor’s favorite part of missions. He missed his wife, his kids, his simple domestic life. Getting home early always a treat. And this time was no exception.
It was just past three-thirty in the afternoon when he got home, a full eight hours ahead of schedule. He crept in as quietly as he could, finding his family gathered in the kitchen.
A chorus of cheers and yelling greeted his ears as his family rushed towards him. He smiled broadly, easily encompassing his wife, son, and daughter into his arms. “I missed you all so much!” He said, giving each family member a kiss. “I’m so happy to be back!”
“I missed you too, Dad!” His daughter said, clinging to his middle.
“We’re so glad you’re back.” His wife placed a sweet kiss to his cheek as she spoke.
His tiny two-year-old son simply jumped up and down at his legs yelling, “Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!”
When he had his fill of their family hug, he released them. “I was just making some after school snacks,” his wife said. “I have some cut up apples with peanut butter if that’s alright. Or I can make you whatever you please. Sometime more filling.”
“This is fine, my queen.” He placed his hand on her waist and kissed her cheek again. “Stark fed us well.”
“I’ll slice up another one then,” she said, smiling. “Can you go through Lina’s backpack with her?”
“Of course!” Thor bellowed and joined his daughter at the kitchen table. The backpack in question was already sitting in the middle of the table. Lina was seated, pulling school books out of the pack. Thor sat down next to her. “What do we have?”
He took the stuff she handed him. “I have a worksheet to do for history. And I have two pages of math to do. Will you help me?” She looked up at him, pleadingly. He never did have the willpower to deny her. Her sweet blue eyes always melted his heart.
“Of course, my princess.” He started to sort the books while little Arik started to pull at his leg. Thor lifted his son up, placing him on his lap. “We’ll both help, right, little prince?” Smiling, Thor opened Lina’s folder, flipping through the papers to find her worksheet. “What’s this?” He pulled out a torn piece of paper, intricate creases showing that it was once folded in many ways. In the center of the paper was a note: I liked your hair ribbon. Pink is a good color.
His wife placed a plate of apples and peanut butter on the table next to them. Arik wasted no time in grabbing and apple and munching on it. “Oh, is that a note?” She asked, ruffling the little boy’s hair. “Who’s it from? Your secret admirer?”
“Yeah!” Lina said proudly, grabbing the letter from Thor. “Look at this one!”
Thor watched as Lina passed the note to her mother, utterly confused. “What? What secret admirer?”
“Olina’s been getting notes just about everyday this week. Someone in her class has a crush on her.”
“What?” Thor’s eyes were wide as disks, looking from his daughter to his wife. “No, absolutely not.”
Lina sighed, “It’s okay, Dad. Valentine’s Day is next week.”
“That doesn’t make it better!” Panic was starting to settle in. No, no way. Olina was only seven. There was no way in the nine realms that she had a secret admirer. She was far too young for crushes.
“I hope they’re from Tommy,” Lina said, grabbing an apple and coating it in peanut butter. “He’s the cutest.”
Thor clutched his chest, feeling like he might pass out. “It’s okay,” came his wife’s soothing voice. She placed her hand on his shoulder and kissed his cheek. “No need to worry. It’s just a school yard crush.”
No matter what his wife said, Thor couldn’t get past that his daughter had a secret admirer. The thought was in the back of his mind as he helped Lina with her homework, helped make dinner, and helped get the kids to bed. He didn’t say anything until he and his wife were preparing for their own slumber.
“I don’t like this,” he said, brushing his golden hair. “She’s far too young.”
“She’s seven, Thor.” His wife sounded tired and borderline annoyed. “That may be young for an Asgardian, but for a human that’s a perfectly normal age to have a crush.”
“She’s half Asgardian!” He countered.
His wife started laughing. “She’s also half human. So far, her aging is on par with humans. If that changes then I will fully support your opinion that she’s too little. Until she slows down, she’s allowed to think some boy in her class is cute.”
Thor continued to grumble and complain about it. Not pleased with how fast his little girl was growing up. Wasn’t it just yesterday she was swaddled tightly, nothing but a tiny face poking out of a blanket as he rocked her to sleep? He did not like this one bit.
“Now,” his wife came to him, wrapping her arms around his middle. His large frame prevented her hands from meeting. “You’ve been away for eight days. I’ve missed you. I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to be with you.”
Putting the brush down, he smirked. He twisted around and easily lifted her off her feet. She squealed and giggled, grabbing onto his shoulders. He kissed her deeply yet quickly, just giving her a taste of what was to come. “Let me remind you, then.”
//
Thor volunteered to stay at home the next morning with Arik while his wife took Olina to school. He was formulating a plan on how to deal with this secret admirer and wanted his lovely wife out of the house to do so. Was it a bit sneaky? Sure, but he was just doing his duty as a father.
While Arik was content watching cartoons, Thor pulled out his phone and sent a group text:
Thor: We have a situation
Tony: Something wrong?
Clint: Is everything ok?
Steve: Is your family alright?
Bucky: I can be there in 20 minutes
Thor: Everyones fine. I just found out theres someone at school who was been sneaking Lina love notes.
Sam: Love notes??????
Tony: This is an emergency
Bucky: I’ll be there in 10
Steve: Whos the punk?
Thor: I dont know. Shes been coming home with secret notes everyday from someone. She doesnt know who its from
Tony: Give me the note. I’ll have the handwriting analyzed
Thor: That will take too long. I have another idea
//
Thor pushed open the door into the house after getting Lina from school. “Mom!” Lina yelled, “we’re back!”
“Remember what I said,” Thor whispered to her before her mother appeared. “Mummy doesn’t need to know.”
“Hello!” His wife walked in with a smile on her face. “How as school?”
“It was great! I got a hundred on the history worksheet Dad helped me with yesterday!” Lina said so proudly, making Thor feel great.
“That’s so wonderful!” Lina’s mother kissed the top of the little girl’s head. Something about her tone and behavior was off and he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. “Why don’t you go wash up and play with Arik for a little bit before snack and homework?”
With no other prompting, Lina raced out of the room, leaving him alone with his wife. Instantly, her posture changed. Her eyes hardened and her hands went right to hips like they do when she scolds the children.
“So, do you want to tell me?”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he said, his eyes skirting everywhere to avoid her harsh gaze. He clasped his hands behind his back. “Nope. No idea.” He swayed from foot to foot gently, trying to act natural.
“Really?” She whipped out her cell phone. “This is the text I got from Lina’s teacher. ‘I see Thor is back. He showed up to pick Lina up. He had the whole Avenger’s crew with him, all ready for battle. It seemed a bit odd but he had Lina’s pick up pass so we let her go. It was strange so I wanted to send you a text just to let you know.’”
He mentally cursed himself. He thought as long as he had the pass saying he was there to pick up Olina that everything would go smoothly.
“Not to mention,” his wife continued, her voice starting to rise. “The texts I was getting from some of the other parents. So, I’m going to ask again. Why were you, Anthony, Clinton, Steven, James, and Samuel all picking Olina up from school? All wearing your battle gear?”
She was addressing everyone by their full names. She was not happy.
“I can explain,” he started, trying to think of something that wouldn’t make his wife explode at him.
“If you’re about to tell me that you did that to try and intimidate whatever poor little boy that likes Lina you are sleeping on the couch for the next week.”
“Well-“
“Thor Odinson! I cannot believe you!” He was in deep trouble now. “She’s a child, Thor! It’s just a little crush! And then to get practically the whole team involved in this?”
“My darling,” he pleaded, rushing to her side. “The others…well they should know what’s going on in Olina’s life, right? They just wanted to help.”
“Uh, huh.” She walked away from him. “Is there a reason Natasha and Bruce weren’t there as well? Could it be because they’re the only rational ones out of the group? They would have told you just how stupid you were being?”
That was exactly why they were not part of his group chat, but he wasn’t about to admit that to her. “My queen. My beautiful beautiful queen. I just wanted to-“
“What? Intimidate a child?” When she said it like that, it did sound rather extreme. “Thor...” Her voice finally dropped. She just sounded tired now.
“I’m sorry.” He grabbed her hand, bringing it up to his mouth and kissing her palm. “I didn’t mean to make you so upset, my queen.” He kissed her palm again and she started to relax and melt. “Truly.” He pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her. “Just the thought of Olina growing up so quickly… I miss her being small.”
She responded by wrapping her own arms around his neck, kissing his cheek tenderly. “I know. I do too. I miss those days so much. But she’s growing up and we can’t stop that. She’s going to grow up and there’s going to be lots of boys and girls that have crushes on her. Same with Arik. That’s how life works.”
She had a point that he was reluctant to admit. Instead, he just rested his cheek against the top of her head. He loved his wife so much. He was so thankful to have her. She made him a better man, husband, father. “I don’t know what I would do without you, my queen,” he whispered to her. “You are right as always. I acted irrationally and I am sorry. But Lina did like being picked up by all of us. She was very happy and surprised.”
“Be that as it may, you still caused a scene. The whole lot of you did.” She pulled away to meet his eyes. “I know you all love her and are protective of her, but this is not the way to go about it. Promise me that if you’re concerned about something, you’ll come talk to me about it first before you assemble the Avengers?”
“I promise,” he said and kissed her. He enjoyed this soft, simple moment with her. Holding her hips and kissing her with all the love he could muster. What he wouldn’t do for her and his family.
She was the one to slowly pull away, her lips a bit rosy. She smiled, and gently traced her fingers around his cheek. “I love you. And you’re still sleeping on the couch.”

A History Lesson and a Date
A Loki x reader one-shot based on the Valentines Day prompts from loki-the-fox:
44: “Yeah nothing says ‘I love you’ more than bouquet that’ll die in two days              time.”
46: “My mom gave a rose because she felt sorry for me”
Author: Lokismercedes
Summary: After you and your husband split, your uncle Tony Stark moves you and your 16 year old twin daughters into the compound. A certain raven haired god takes a keen interest in you three and in turn you give him a history lesson about Valentine’s Day.
You had gotten pregnant in high school when you were 16. Even though it was incredibly hard you still managed to finish school and graduate. Your uncle Tony was disappointed to say the least, but he always supported every decision you ever made. Telling him that you wanted to keep the baby (Even after you found out it was twins) was no different. Your mom had kicked you out when you told her, and immediately uncle Tony demanded you move in with him. When you were 20 you met your husband. After a whirlwind of a romance that lasted 6 months he proposed and you said yes, a month later you two were married in a small ceremony that only a few friends and family members attended. Now eleven years later, here you were, living with Uncle Tony again after being kicked out. He truly was a God send and the only family member that didn’t shun you for getting pregnant at sixteen. Today not only marked your humiliation after finding ‘the love of your life’ cheating on you with someone who was ten years younger than you but it also happened to be Valentine’s Day. Now you were never one to really care about this holiday, but you desperately longed for the simplicity your life used to be. You missed living in Tennessee so much, the way everyone in your small town always smiled and waved at each other, and always made small talk whether they knew you or not. That was your favorite part of living in the south: The Southern Hospitality! Living in New York was VASTLY different.
On top of moving to New York with the twins you had recently started going back to school to get your Registered Nursing License. While you were desperately trying to cram a study session in this morning you noticed the girls weren’t in their room, cursing you texted them asking where they were. They both told you they were with the Asguardians in the common room kitchen eating breakfast. You blew out a sigh of relief knowing they were already eating breakfast, and knowing that Happy - Uncle Tony’s assistant - was going to drive them to school so you could worry about studying for your nursing boards. You grabbed your books and notes and grabbed the girls backpacks (They conveniently forgot in your living room of the suit you lived in) and started reading over your notes walking to the elevator to meet up with the girls.
Your boards were coming up in a couple of weeks and you knew the material easily enough, what was worrying you was the fact you also had to do a clinical exam on top of the written exam. You knew there was some things that you really needed to brush up on but the girls were way to wirey and wiggley to use them, you know you could always ask Uncle Tony or Aunt Pepper, but you feel like you have already imposed on them enough, and didn’t want to ask them unless absolutely necessary. As you stepped out of the elevator and into the kitchen of the common room you immediately heard Thors’ booming laugh, and the girls came running at you.
“Thank god we don’t have to run back upstairs to grab them.” Savanna sighed in relief.
“Is Happy here yet?” You ask them.
“Not yet, but we panicked when we couldn’t find our bags.” Dakota piped up. “Oh mom, there’s a bouquet of roses in the kitchen that has your name on the card.” She said as an afterthought.
“WHAT?!” You nearly shouted. “Please tell me they are from you two?” You say. Both girls shook their heads
“Nope, looks like you might have a secret admirer.” Savanna smirked.
“God I hope not.” You mumbled walking into the kitchen. “Morning Odinsonbros” You gave the gods in greeting.
“And what a glorious morning it is Lady Y/N.” Thor said pulling you into a hug a lung popping hug. Loki nodded in your direction and flashed you a dazzling smile.
“Girls, why didn’t you wake me up, instead of the boys?” You asked.
“Well, mom, we really didn’t want to bother you with today being Valentine’s Day and all.” Savanna spoke up. You rolled your eyes and gave them both a hug and a kiss.
“Beside, Lady Y/N, we were up anyway.” Thor smiled at  you. Loki grumbled something into his breakfast indicating Thor was lying, but trying to be polite.
“Guys, I’m fine, makes me feel like you like the boys more than me, you know today really doesn’t mean much to me, never has.” You responded.
“Mom, read the card, I wanna know who sent you flowers.” Savanna urged handing you the card.
“I really don’t.” You grumbled taking the card, worried they may have come from your Soon-to-be-ex-husband. The look of worry must have been on your face because Thor asked what was wrong.
“Nothing really, hoping to hell its not from my ex.” You shrugged.
“Well if they are, can we burn them?” Dakota asked hopeful
“ABSOLUTELY! That’s the best idea I’ve heard this morning!” You beamed at the girls, earning a chuckle from Loki. You placed your notes that you were studying down on the counter and sat next to Loki. You could see him trying to read the card over your shoulder and you smirked.
“Jealous?” You nudged him with your shoulder.
“Hm hardly, just merely curious as to who’s attention you hold” Loki waved his hand nonchalantly.
“HE SPEAKS!” You winked at him, and you swore he blushed a little. You looked down at the card and read it:
Y/N,
Honey, I heard about what happened between you and H/N, and I’m terribly sorry. Here’s a little something to, hopefully, brighten your day a little. Call me when you’re free.
                                    -XOXO Mom
You rolled your eyes, handed the card to Loki so he could read it, grabbed the roses and threw them in the trash can. All four of the people in the kitchen gave you a quizzical look.
“Why did you throw them out? I think its an endearing gesture.” Loki asked
“Too little, too late” You told him.
“Who are they from, mom?” One of the girls asked.
“Nobody important.” You shrugged. Right then Happy walked in to take the girls to school. You noticed Thor give Loki’s shoulder a squeeze and he too made an excuse to leave.
“Now why would you say your mother isn’t important?” Loki moved to take his plate to the sink, then casually leaned againsed the counter and folded his arms across his chest.
“Long story short, she kicked me out when I got pregnant at sixteen, then her and all of her side of the family disowned me.” You shrugged.
“Maybe shes trying to mend her relationship with you. Possibly for the sake of your daughters.” He pondered.
“Hm nice try Mischief, but my mom gave me a rose because she felt sorry for me, since the separation.” You tried to sound indifferent. “She really wasn’t a hands on mother to be honest, we have always had a rocky relationship.” You really wanted this conversation to end. This was actually a very touchy subject to you and you know Loki’s just trying to make you feel better.
“Or, she really does love you, and is trying to finally reach out.” He walked over to you, and you noticed he was picking at his hands
“Riiight, Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a bouquet that will die in two days time.” You quipped back smirking.
“Always the optimistic I see. Stark did tell me a little bit about this midguardian holiday. Can’t say I’m a fan of lovesick couples groping each other in public, whispering childish sentiments, and spending ridiculous amounts of money on stuff thats obviously just going to get tossed in the bin at the end of the day.” He gestured towards where you threw the roses out.
“Actually it only turned romantic around 1375, when the medieval English poet, Geoffrey Chaucer, wrote a poem called “Parliament of Foules.” where he linked the dreaded V-Day with Love. It used to be a pagan celebration called Lupercalia. Celebrated at the ides of February, it was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman God of Agriculture. Around A.D. 270 the christian church decided to place St. Valentine’s feast to Christianize the pagan belief.” You told him matter- of- factly. Loki stared at you in shock. “What? I like history and being catholic I specifically like the history of different saints.” You smirked at Loki’s absolutely stunned look.
“What else do you know about this holiday?” He asked genuinely sitting back down motioning for you to join him. “Please enlighten me more about this tediously mundane holiday.”
You sat next to him and faced him. “Um, well, lets see, nobody really knows who St. Valentine really was, there could actually be up words to 15 different people. The one that Roman Catholics seem to really focus on was a Roman Priest in the third century.” Loki was just staring at you while you talked occasionally smirking at the passion for which you spoke. “Technically in my opinion, were celebrating a temple priest that was arrested, beaten, sentenced to death, and eventually beheaded on the 14th of February.”
“What exactly was his crime?” Loki wondered
“He was helping couples wed, you see, when emperor Claudius the second made marriage illegal because he wanted unwed men for his army.” You smiled at the look of disgust on Loki’s face.
“Barbaric!” He exclaimed
“It really is, he was only canonized in 1988, by pope John Paul the second.” You were becoming more and more aware of the way Loki was staring at you, almost like he could see into your soul.
“Lady Y/N, I would love to hear more about this, lets say, over some dinner and maybe wine?” He asked almost shyly, picking at his hands again. You furrowed your brows in confusion.
“Like a date? Loki are you asking me out?” You were sure you heard wrong.
“I suppose I am.” He looked up to finally meet your eyes, he had so much riding on you saying yes. It all clicked into place now, the constant figiting, Thor squeezing his shoulder earlier, he’s always been so good with the twins, that’s why the girls never woke you up this morning! He’s been planning this and they have been helping him! Your heart was racing.
“Tell you what, Mischief, if you convince your brother to check in every now and then with the twins, maybe stay overnight with them, not only will I have dinner with you, but you can help me play nurse-” You started but was interrupted by your Uncle Tony walking in right at that moment and spitting his coffee out. Both you and Loki burst out laughing.

Can I Borrow a Kiss?
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Valkyrie/Brunhilde X FEMALE Plus Size Reader
This is my entry for River’s Valentine’s Day Marvel Writing Challenge
Warnings: A douche bag, terrible pickup lines, cuddling
A/N: The reader is stood up! Surprise, surprise! This was a date to have a romantic evening of dinner, couples message, a night to herself as well as her what she thought was a boyfriend that freaks out when he realized she was going to make their relationship public by this outing! Leading the reader to decide to ask her newest friend and visitor to the compound Brunhilde to share the night with her so the tickets don’t go to waste but what happens when the night is slowly ruined by snow?
Prompt:  20. “Pretend to be my boyfriend/girlfriend because I bought non-refundable couples tickets to this thing and we should go because I’m paying for it either way.”
Words: +4,200
“I can’t be seen in public with you! You're a…,” the man, the douche, Ric began to spout at Y/N in what he thought was a deserted training room.
The newest member taken aback by the sudden outburst from the man, the agent, but having a feeling it was coming. Y/N wasn’t stupid, the newest Avenger was the one to woo, a feather under his hat, except hers were made of an alloy harder than vibranium and folded into themselves to hide away but for a delicate metal scroll across her shoulders that dazzled and made people curious.
Gloved hands going to her plump hips, the bare fingers digging into the black yoga pants that hugged tight to thick curves as she stood tall, head held high as sweat beaded across her body, letting out a loud sigh Y/E/C eyes sparking with anger. There was an evil smirk puling at her lips, metal wings itching to spring free, to rip him in half with their razor-sharp edges but didn’t want to ruin the shirt she had on.
“Mmm, a freak correct? Come on, you can say it, freak,” Y/N drawled out never noting the warrior that stepped up to her, cognac orbs looking the two over not sure what the standoff was about but was waiting for Y/N to launch herself at the man.
“I swear to the Norns you call her a freak I will lay you open right here without a thought,” Brunhilde now spoke up next to Y/N who jumped slightly having never heard her approach, usually she was more alert than this, but Ric had her flustered.
“Hey sweetheart,” Ric began towards Brunhilde, making the two roll their eyes, both women looking to each other then to the douche who smiled at the Valkyrie, apparently he was too stupid to figure out he was the wrong sex for the Asgardian. “I have two tickets to a couples retreat what do you say…,” he looked to bronze woman who let out a scoff before Y/N tore into the man again.
“YOU!? YOU forget that I bought the tickets with MY money that I work my ass off to get. You started the whole, oh hey babe I'm not sure I can afford it,” Y/N sneered, taking a step forward, bumping hard into the man’s shoulder as she left and started to the elevator.
Y/N had enough of his bull shit, passing Thor and Steve on the way, never catching them look to her then Ric who was flirting with Brunhilde, the two nodding towards the agent that obviously needed a lesson in etiquette towards the ladies of the compound.
Tumblr media
The loud crashing had Thor playing rock paper scissors with Bucky as to who was going to go calm down the irate woman that was obviously having a loud discussion with herself. Though now it seemed it was getting out of control until it finally quieted, Y/N’ door opening as she stepped out of the room, metal wings glittering in the light to find the two men ready to knock on it and looking at her worriedly.
“Hey guys,” she began putting the wings away, the halter top accommodating the wings nicely as they laid across her shoulders in their scrolled pattern.
“Are you OK? You know Steve and Thor here kicked the guys ass. Well that was after the Valkyrie got a hold of him,” Bucky spoke up looking at her as she stepped to shut the door, careful they didn’t get a glimpse of the room.
“I'm fine,” she squeaked which was odd for the out spoken thick framed woman that had came to the team several months ago. “Any of you need tickets to a couples thingy that I should have never bought?”
“Um, we all have made plans…,” Thor spoke up quietly, eyeing Y/N carefully as she tried to keep up a fake smile but threw her arms up in defeat, what was the point.
“Who the hell am I kidding? Might as well eat them,” she sighed propping on the door the metallic curl thumping the wood, letting out an exasperated huff looking the two men over as if they could provide her with an answer.
“But…,” Thor began glancing to Y/N with a thought, not sure to voice it given he wasn’t sure of her preferences in partners, but he did know the woman got along with Brunhilde well. “Brunhilde doesn’t have any plans since she is new to Midgard, maybe she would like to join you? At least it want be waisted and you two can hang out like you always do,” Thor spoke, careful of his words, he knew the Valkyrie would kill him if he made her sound desperate or even care for the holiday.
“Hmm, that doesn’t sound bad, where is she,” Y/N spoke looking at the two carefully, not even sure if she would be the woman’s type, she wasn’t even sure what her own type was.
“Stark’s bar,” Bucky spoke up while Y/N uttered, “why did I ask,” with a smile, thanking the two before heading down the hall to the elevator.
Y/N stepping on board the lift, keeping her determination as it traveled up to the bar now on the upper part of the compound that was now beginning to turn more into another tower with a party deck.
“I hope she doesn’t kill us,” Bucky spoke up as he and Thor went back to the common room.
“Which one?”
“At this point both.”
The doors to the party floor opened to reveal Brunhilde standing before the glass wall overlooking the city, still new to the place since arriving after the war with Thanos. The bronze warrior still in her training garb as she turned to look at Y/N the moment the thick framed woman’s reflection showed in the glass, the newest Avenger stopping at the bar to poor herself a glass of whisky before stepping up to the glass with her friend.
“Heard you defended my honor,” Y/N laughed into the rock glass looking over at the tanned warrior with a smirk as she took a drink.
“I did, he had no right to do that to you,” she spoke hotly looking Y/N over, noting her raw knuckles as she griped the glass tight, obvious she had taken out aggression on something in the compound.
“Well I appreciate it, and look. Those tickets, they are non-refundable couples tickets to this thing and I would like for you go with me because I’m paying for it either way and want to tell you thank you,” Y/N seemed to ramble making Brunhilde laugh at the woman’s nervous banter.
The Valkyries looked at the soldier, as they normally called Y/N, as she threw back the rock glass to down the amber liquid, Y/E/C orbs looking into the empty cup and turning to hurry to the bar to refill, Brunhilde on her heels.
“I would be honored,” Brunhilde spoke up making Y/N jump slightly, taking the woman a minute to realize she had agreed to the following nights events without a second thought.
“You… uh I understand you don’t want to… wait… you do,” Y/N blurted out not sure how to respond as she looked over the warrior as if seeing her in a different light all of the sudden as she stepped close to Y/N who was still in shock.
“Yes, I would love to, but don’t expect me to show up with roses and chocolates and all that other crap to pick you up like I keep hearing the guys whining about doing. What time do I need to meet you,” the warrior spoke Y/N laughing at the spill about no chocolates or roses.
“Well, thank god no flowers because they die and the chocolate I can by on sale the next day,” Y/N laughed once more feeling at ease with the warrior that she had been getting to know the last few months.
“Um, meet me at my room at 5, there will be a limo coming to pick us up to take us to a private yacht and all that crappy romantic stuff,” Y/N smiled, feeling her cheeks heat up as she watched cognac orbs study over her thick frame and feeling slightly self-conscious.
“What all are we doing anyway,” Brunhilde asked with a smile, noting the blush, stepping closer to Y/N curious if she would move away and to her relief she didn’t, maybe there was feelings between them.
“It's a meal, couples message, then later on we go back to the city to walk around the park,” Y/N spoke with a smile, looking over the Valkyrie with an even bigger smile tugging at her lips, god this felt like flirting.
“Massage? Well I'm not turning that down,” the Valkyrie laughed as she noted Y/N finally relax and quit standing as if she was about to fight, glad that douche bag gave her an excuse to get to know Y/N better.
Tumblr media
5 o’clock the next evening came quick and to beat it all Y/N found herself trying to figure out what to wear. What she had picked out to wear with Ric was possibly overkill, but then again it was just a simple long sleeve t-shirt dress with a pair of black leggings and knee-high boots. That shouldn’t be that extravagant could it?
The knock on the door told the woman she was fretting over what she had dressed herself in more than she should. She and Brunhilde were friends, it wasn’t like they were a couple or whatever, but then again that didn’t sound like a bad arrangement. Truthfully Y/N had never been with a woman and it wasn’t a proposal she wouldn’t turn away if it came from the tanned skin warrior, she thought to herself as she opened the door.
Yeah, the bronze skinned warrior now standing in her open doorway, clothed in skinny jeans, a long sleeve shirt and knee-high boots with heels that made her and Y/N the same height.
“Wow, not what I expected but you look gorgeous,” Brunhilde began, kicking herself for being so straight forward, not sure how Y/N would feel about the attention.
There was a blush threatening to rise over top of the low-cut collar of the dress that had Brunhilde lingering longer on the tops of ample breast more than she should had but thankfully the woman hadn’t noticed as she was looking Brunhilde over. How could anyone not think that Y/N’ thick curves or the metal scroll that graced across the soldiers strong shoulders wasn’t breath taking.
“You look gorgeous yourself. Never seen you in street clothes, but it looks great on you,” Y/N spoke surprised the warrior held out a tanned hand to her it was obvious it was a gesture that was testing the waters as Y/N’ fingers tightened on the clutch she held to but reached out with her free hand to take the calloused palm carefully.
“If we are going to a couples thing maybe we should act the part,” the Valkyrie admitted to Y/N who smirked and gave a quiet chuckle.
“If I didn’t know better, I would say that was a cheesy pickup line,” Y/N smiled as she shut the door when the warrior pulled her out to the hall releasing her hand to throw an arm over strong shoulders and finding that she missed the tanned hand in hers already.
“Well, I'm full of them, probably worse than the guys so you may want to get used to it if we are having an evening together,” Brunhilde spoke as they started down the hall to the elevator to go catch the limo and noticed for once it seemed the Valkyrie hadn’t been hitting the bottle early.
Tumblr media
The ride quiet, actually enjoyable as the two picked at each other as always, not afraid of showing who they really where and the Valkyrie admitting she didn’t understand the reason for valentine’s day and Y/N admitting truthfully neither did she. The limo pulling up to the docks and Brunhilde sure she was the first out to offer her hand to Y/N to help her out of the back of the limo, tanned arm looping in hers when she was out and escorting the soldier to the yacht Y/N hinted to.
“Damn I can get used to this,” Y/N laughed as both pulled tightly to one another, it was cold, it was February after all and it was now blowing snow, thankful the Valkyrie ran hotter than she did.
“So could I,” she heard the warrior utter under her breath, a statement she wasn’t meant to hear but didn’t let on she did as they stepped on board to be greeted by the captain himself who showed them below decks where a meal was being prepared and a glass wall to look out over the waterway as they were to be cruised around until the end of the meal which supposedly takes an hour.
“Wait, I got another one,” Brunhilde spoke up as they were seated, a glass of wine poured for both as well as a small appetizer sat before them.
“Another… no, a cheesy one,” Y/N laughed as she noted the Valkyrie looking in her lap, obvious she was texting, remembering the day she had taught her how to text, it was a funny day all its own not to mention when Brunhilde realized she could send pictures, videos and discovering Pinterest.
“Do you have a sunburn, or are you always this hot,” Brunhilde spoke as she gazed into Y/N’ eyes apparently it was a game of how long she could hold it together until the soldier lost it.
“Oh my god! That was terrible! Who sent you that one,” Y/N burst out laughing, almost choking on the drink of wine she had just swallowed, the warrior showing her the cell phone she was hiding in her lap and it was on Pinterest.
“OK, wait it got one better,” the soldier smiled, sitting back when the waiter came to sit the main dish before them, both thanking the man as they were left alone once again. “Are you from Memphis? Because you are the only ten I see,” at this point it was hard to keep a straight face as Y/N looked down to the steak before her then to Brunhilde was trying to hold it together apparent she knew the joke from TV.
“OK, that was terrible…,” Brunhilde laughed out as she looked up to Y/N noting the sparkle in her eye and relishing in the feeling of being the one that had put it there, a smile spreading at the next one she had found but had remembered, giving a goofy smile as the soldier began to cut into the steak. “You ready for another because I have enough to keep us laughing all night?”
“Oh yes! Try to woo me,” Y/N chuckled as she prepared for the next cheesy pickup line, both taking time with the meal as the cityscape went unnoticed as did the worsening snow.
Tumblr media
It was a pleasant meal, the friendship was the best part, both laughing at anything and everything by the time it was over. Neither drunk, not even a buzz from the expensive wine and champagne. The Valkyrie telling Y/N cheesy pickup lines, Sakaar, kicking Loki’ ass and whatever she felt sharing until it was time for them to exit to meet the limo to be dropped off at the next spot.
This time it was the spa that had the two rushing through the cold snow, the Valkyrie holding to Y/N since it seemed she was cold, and the storm was picking up. The warmth of the spa a slap in the face along with the scents of oils, the receptionist greeting the two once they shook off the cold.
“I had a slight change, the person originally to come was a douche bag so I gave his ticket to Brunhilde,” Y/N informed the woman who only smiled at the two it was nothing unusual about the tickets, especially when purchased in advance.
“Well I have to say your girlfriend is better looking than who we were expecting any way,” the woman spoke, taking Y/N by surprise with calling Brunhilde her girlfriend, leaving her sputtering for a moment not sure how the Valkyrie liked being called her girlfriend.
A quick look to the bronze warrior who had a smirk on her face, the arm wrapped in Y/N’ releasing to slip around her thick middle to pull her close to look into her eyes.
“Yes, my girlfriend is better looking,” the warrior spoke with a smile, the receptionist standing to hint for them to follow her to one of the rooms behind the desk.
“Come-on, girlfriend,” the Valkyrie whispered darkly into Y/N’ ear, the two stepping into the room the receptionist showed then and shortly followed in by a masseuse.
The woman explaining, they were to disrobe, and she would return with another masseuse with her in a few moments and to wait in the robes provided.
“I’ll step out and give you some privacy,” Brunhilde began, but it wasn’t anything she hadn’t seen in the shower in the training room.
“Why? You’ve seen me naked, noting different, I'm just keeping my panties on,” Y/N spoke up, not meaning to sound hurt but looking to Brunhilde to make sure it didn’t shine through but the surprise on her face told her she heard.
“No, I just wasn’t sure… Norns I'm a terrible liar, I like you,” the Valkyrie finally spat out as Y/N was jerking the dress over her head, standing frozen in her bra and panties, thin scars over plump stomach attesting to the first time she had ever tried to use her wings to defend herself in a fight.
“Um, OK,” Y/N squeaked out not sure where to go from there, “I may like you to.”
The Valkyrie let out a breath when the soldier relaxed, she had already put the robe on having been undressed by the time the woman had turned to speak with her, the warrior actually relaxing a little now that she had admitted to liking Y/N, but not confessing to having been watching Y/N’ thick curves ever since she spotted her in the compound.
“We will talk more about this when we go for the walk,” Brunhilde spoke up before the door opened  and Y/N finished pulling the bra off, throwing the robe on, muttering OK as the masseuses entered.
Y/N letting out a grown when the massage began, having to inform the woman to be careful of the metal that ran her shoulders, thankful Tony had fixed this part of the ticket since it seemed these women weren’t put off by the scars that littered her back and the metal scroll.
“Oh, by the Norns, I'm so glad you got rid of Ric,” Y/N herd Brunhilde grind out as it sounded the breath was pushed out of her with a slight crack.
“So am I,” Y/N groaned back, the work on her lower back making her eyes roll into the back of her head with a crack of her spine.
The massage going on with quiet banter back and forth. Both feeling a weight lifted off of their shoulders when the two exited the building Y/N shivering against the Valkyrie who had a thought.
“How about we just go back to the compound and watch a movie? I have mead stashed in my room and it's warm,” Brunhilde bargained, filling Y/N shiver harder, it wouldn’t be so bad, but the metal scroll was becoming cold and it chilled her to the bone, usually she wore a special suit that kept her warm when she flew and fought and now she was missing it.
“I love you for so much more than your life saving body heat,” the soldier jittered as they stepped to the limo, finally looking into glittering cognac orbs to get a laugh as the got into the warm cabin.
Y/N opened her mouth to protest about going back but the gust of wind that whipped snow inside the open door before it could be shut told her to shut up and let’s go home. A shiver trembling through thick curves as she finally looked over at the Valkyrie with a smile and nod in agreement to head home and pulling into her side as Y/N informed the driver to head back to the compound.
Tumblr media
Their floor was quiet, both noting it appeared they were the only ones on the floor as Y/N still stayed pulled tightly to the warrior who was relishing in the feel of curvaceous form pulled tight and knew she would miss it when they parted for the evening. Stepping into Brunhilde’ apartment the soldier noted that for once it wasn’t littered by bottles and glasses and it was warm, but mostly surprised no bottles.
“You cleaned up,” Y/N joked as she took a seat on the couch while the Valkyrie stopped in the kitchenette to grab two glasses and mead from a cabinet and tucking something under her arm.
“Yeah, I did,” she laughed as she came to take a seat on the couch next to Y/N who smiled at her, sitting the cups and flask down on the coffee table to hand over a velvet box to the soldier who stared at her before taking it still staring at the warrior not sure what to do.
“Well, are you going to open it,” the warrior scolded Y/N who finally snapped out of it to open the box while Brunhilde poured them a drink.
Once open the soldier was quick to shut the box with a look of shock before opening it again to look it over then repeat the process one more time before leaving it open to stare at the silver pendant on the rope chain that wasn’t feminine but wasn’t masculine either, the pendant matching the tattoo on the Valkyries forearm.
“Thor and Bucky told me I needed to get you a gift and you said you didn’t like flowers because they die and the candy you buy half off the next day, but they suggested jewelry. I had to ask Stark to help, the pendant is titanium and the chain is the same as your wings, so it want break easily. It's the symbol of the Valkyrie, I thought it was fitting for you, and I am rambling,” the warrior finally quieted to look at Y/N who was smiling at her holding to the box, looking to the pendant and pulling it out of the box to hold it out to the warrior hinting for her take it.
“Put it on me,” Y/N spoke happily bronze fingers gingerly taking the necklace to unclasp it and moving forward as the solider pulled her hair out of the way, Brunhilde placing it around her soft warm neck to fasten it then pulling it so it rested perfectly in the hollow of Y/N’ neck who released her hair and smiled at the warrior.
“You like…,” Brunhilde got out before arms wrapped around warm lithe shoulders to pull her tight the warrior unable to stop the smile as she returned the hug and buried her nose into Y/N’ hair, taking in the scent of fresh shampoo and unable to stop from pulling the woman’s thick frame with her as she fell back on the couch, holding tight as Y/N propped up for a minute shocked when bronze lips crashed into hers, but fell into the kiss both to break to catch their breath.
“Can I borrow a kiss? I promise I will give it back,” Brunhilde laughed, Y/N leaning up to place a chaste kiss to her lips to pull away with a shy smile.
“Who thought the best kiss I would ever get would be from a woman,” Y/N smiled timidly, a blush rising up in her cheeks as Brunhilde reached up to brush Y/H/C hair out of her face with a smile.
“Well they are plenty more if you stick around,” Brunhilde smiled taking a quick kiss before they settled to the couch Y/N’ head tucked under a bronze chin as matching fingers began to card Y/H/C hair.
“Mmm, then I'm sticking around, and you keep that up and I'm going to go to sleep,” Y/N hummed sleepily, snuggling closer to the warrior arms around lithe waist, glad she didn’t need to worry about being heavier than Brunhilde, the Valkyrie could pick up Thor and toss him when he made her mad.
“Good to hear, and I may join you,” the Valkyrie echoed as she pulled Y/N tight just to hold her in the silence of the room, it was more than expected and wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to ‘cuddle’ as they put it.
“I'm no organ donor but I’d be happy to give you my heart,” Y/N chuckled out the warrior chuckling with her.
“OK we have to stop with these terrible pickup lines,” Brunhilde hummed quietly as the laughing calmed. “Don’t make me tell the Ass guard joke that Tony came up with.”
“Oh, please no, though I would let you guard this ass,” Y/N couldn’t help the giggle that escaped before finally calming once more, especially as a kiss was placed to the top of her head and nuzzled under tanned chin.
Tanned arms holding tight as both grew quiet, finally out of cheesy pickup lines since neither wanted to move to get their phones, the dim lit room doing little to keep them from dozing off, breathing calming as it seemed sleep didn’t sound to bad at the moment.

Never again (Loki x ofc)
My post for @loki-the-fox‘s Holiday challenge using the prompts: “Proposing on Valentine’s Day…how original.” And “What are you doing? Why are you on one knee? Get up! Get up!”
Now, I wasn’t going to post this until Tomorrow but SOMEHOW I hit 200 followers today so... Woo! I’ll post something else tomorrow at some point because I’m weird like that.
Warnings/rating: Nothing of note. Just some pg13 Angst.
Summary: Marina had watched Loki walk away from her a year ago. Nine months ago she accepted a date with a perfectly acceptable Greg. One date turned into another and now they were celebrating their first Valentines day as a couple. Has Greg won her heart or had she ever taken it back from Loki in the first place?
Never Again
Marina sighed as she ran a bush through her hair, pulling tangles from the golden strands. Maybe if she dyed it she could forget how much he had loved her hair, the way it contrasted so sharply against his. He’d said her hair made him love the color again. It didn’t matter anymore. Or at least that’s what she told herself as she set the brush down and looked at herself in the mirror.
Brown eyes looked back at her. The same brown eyes he had said he loved. He’d told her they reminded him of the earth, always warm. The same eyes he said he would look into every night and every morning. He’d not looked into her brown eyes in almost a year.
“Loki is gone.” Her voice didn’t sound so convincing in her ears. Tears threatened to choke her voice but she pushed them back. “He left and he’s not changing his mind this time.”
She needed to forget about him. She needed to move on. It was valentines day and she had a date with Greg and he’d be here soon. They’d been together for nearly nine months and honestly she hadn’t expected it to last this long. It wasn’t meant to last this long.
You know that thing where you put off doing something painful until it becomes an unconquerable task? When it came to Greg, that’s what she had done. He loved her, she knew he did and at first she thought she had as well.
In reality she had just loved the idea of him. The idea of something normal. But he looked at her like she hung the moon and stars. He was sweet and kind and did everything right. He said all the right things and so she put off breaking his heart for another week. Then another.
Weeks turned into months. Now it was their first Valentine’s day and she was left dreading it even as she smoothed down her dress. It was black with a green sheen to the smooth fabric that clung to her curves. Loki would have loved it. Loki would never get to see it.
Marina pushed the thought away as the doorbell rang through the apartment. It didn’t matter. She wasn’t wearing the dress for Loki. Loki would never see the dress. She wore it for Greg. Greg would say it looked great on her. Greg would have said the same thing if she wore a burlap sack. Loki’s praise would be honest as would be his criticisms of a burlap sack as a dress.
He sat in the dim light of the restaurant. When they asked if he was waiting on someone he told them he was in a sense and ordered another glass of wine. The moment she walked in his eyes found her. He was torturing himself, he knew that. Yet he couldn’t help coming back over and over again to pour salt on the wound. Why not constantly remind himself what he lost.
The dress she wore was beautiful in its simplicity. God did it hug her, caressed her how he wished he could, how he should. It was green and dark, nearly black but he could see the green under the lights. Still nearly a year later she wore his color.
But it didn’t matter. It wasn’t him with her. He missed his chance. Threw it away as if it meant nothing. It was his single greatest mistake. Even now he relived the day it all went wrong when ever he closed his eyes.
As he watched her walk across the dining room, hand held in that man’s loose grip he could hear the bitter words he had spoken. The words intended to cut deep fueled by nothing more then the jealousy and insecurity he felt when she filled her time with another.
He overreacted. He’d been gone for months at a time. She wasn’t going to sit around and wait for him to come back and not do anything to fill the time. It was too much to ask for her to sit around and wait for him day in and day out. It was too much to ask for her to be waiting for him to come back any day.
Never did he doubt her love for him. Never did he doubt his love for her. Never. Yet when he saw her smiling at that man as they shared a lunch he couldn’t fight that red rage that clouded his eyes. As he screamed his rage at her, she informed him through tears that she was giving him relationship advice. The man was married. It was stupid, that coworker wasn’t even the man she was at this restaurant with and never had he wished he could turn back time more.
It was that red rage that made him say those horrible things. He could still see her tears streaming down her face. He could still hear the pain in them as she asked him if he truly thought so low of her. She begged to know how she had failed him. She was just trying to get by, to survive the time spent waiting for him. So much time was spent waiting for him.
When she told him to leave, he did. God had he prayed that she would stop him but she didn’t. He should have refused to go. He should have grabbed his phone off the table. He should have trusted her. He should have never let her go. He shouldn’t be here.
Marina smiles at Greg as she takes a seat. Ever the gentleman, he pushes in her chair before taking a seat at the table. Everything about the dinner was perfect. There were roses on the table. The live musicians kept sweet music in the air and the lights were dim enough to make each table feel like it was the only table.
Greg said all the right things. He did all the right things and she laughed at all the jokes. It felt like she was a shell just waiting. Just passing the time. In the end, she knew that was what she was doing. Just passing the time, waiting for her heart to heal so maybe she could move on and give it to the perfectly nice man in front of her giving her what should be a perfect Valentine’s date.
It was the perfect Valentine’s date. Except, it wasn’t perfect. Greg wasn’t Loki.
“Let’s have the cake for dessert?” Greg asked, pulling her eyes to him.
She smiled at him and nodded. “Yeah, that would be lovely.”
It was just the right reaction. It was just what was expected of her. It was the right thing to say. Just because her heart was still too broken to give to him didn’t mean she needed to ruin his Valentine’s day. In time maybe she would be able to stop pretending and give him her heart. Really, it would be better to just end things with him. He didn’t deserve to love someone who was still in love with someone else.
The cake came out and the smell of rich chocolate filled the air. A candy rose was draped over the slice. The talent to make such a thing out of pure sugar was impressive. Also impressive was the ring hooked on stem.
“Greg?” What the hell?
He snagged the ring off the stem of the flower as he stood from his chair. Walking around the side of the table with a soft smile on his face.
What the hell? What the hell was going on? No. No. No, no, no.
“Marina,” he spoke as he sank down in front of her on one knee. People around them stopped talking and more and more eyes gathered to take in the sight.
“What are you doing? Why are you on one knee? Get up! Get up!” Panic was bubbling up within her as she stood from her seat. This couldn’t happen. This can’t be happening. This wasn’t right. This wasn’t the right man. This was wrong. So very wrong.
“I love you. I love you more then life itself. I’ve loved you since-” A voice cut him off.
“Proposing on Valentine’s Day…how original.”
The voice that cut him of made her panicked heart stop dead in her chest. It was a voice she hadn’t heard outside of her dreams in a year. It was a voice she didn’t think she would ever hear again.
“Loki?” She could just see him sitting in the dim light a table away, glass of wine tilted toward her in a mock toast. How had she not noticed him? Why that was simple, he was a bit off to the side, a bit out of her line of sight. So close and yet so far away. “What are you doing here?”
“Mar?” Greg tried to draw her attention back to him as he knelt still on the ground in front of her.
“Drinking wine and watching the best thing I ever had pick someone else.” Loki sipped his wine and her heart shattered.
“I don’t want someone else.”
Greg swallows the bile that rises in his throat as he stands. Her words cut him but he’d always suspected it. This was Loki. The Loki. He’d never had her heart though he had tried time and time again to win it.
“Greg, I-”
Holding his hand up in an effort to silence her, he spoke. “Never mind. You need to figure out what is going on in your heart. I get it. I’ll go settle the bill and be out of your hair.”
She watched dumbly as he left. Did he just dump her? He did, didn’t he?
“Better go chase him.” Loki remarked as he drained the last of the wine from his glass.
“Why?” Tears threatened to spill down her face.
“Because you love him.”
“I don’t. I tired but I never could. It was always you and I wish it wasn’t that way. You hurt me. It’s dumb that I still love you but I do.” The tears were falling now, making a mess of her makeup.
“You still love me?” Loki stood at that and she just nodded forcefully as a storm of emotions raged within her. Her heart was broken and sadness and anger stormed within her heart.
She was startled when Loki came to stand in front of her. With a soft touch he wiped the tears from her face only to watch as more fell. As much as she didn’t want to, she leaned into his touch. His touch felt like home.
“You still love me.” He repeated, sounding mesmerized by the fact.
“You never came back.” She hiccuped and it wasn’t the cutest sound in her own ears but Loki smiled.
“I should have. I thought you didn’t want me.” He admitted as he reached out to her like he sound have done so many months ago.
“You should have.” She agreed but didn’t step away as his arms snaked around her, pulling her to his chest.
That did it. That broke down every wall she had worked so hard to build and she sobbed into his chest, clutching the lapels of his suit jacket as if they would somehow ground her. They were deep ugly sobs that left her gasping for breath as she clung to him. God did he smell good. It felt good to feel him under her hands, to feel his arms around her. It felt right. It felt safe.
“Don’t ever leave me alone again.” It was too much to ask but she couldn’t help it. This couldn’t work if he was going to be gone for months at a time. She was asking for far too much. He was here now, but he would leave her again in time. No matter how much she loved him, it was never enough to keep him from having to return to Asgard.
“You’ll come with from now on.” He promised as he held her just that much tighter. Never again would he let her go. Never again would he leave her behind. Never again would he loose her. Never again.

Letters from a God
For @loki-the-fox River’s Valentine’s Day Marvel Writing Challenge.
Prompt - Person A (Loki) writes person B (his wife, Nora) a love letter.
LOVE LETTERS FROM A GOD
(On company letterhead, with such heavy lines the pen has ripped the paper in places. Found crumpled in a trashcan.)
Nora,
I am quite angry with you.
Finding myself unable to reach you through your no doubt switched off cellular phone, I find myself with no recourse but to put my thoughts to paper in hopes of preserving them for when you return.  After your childishly walking out without even bothering to take a proper coat though it is February in this icy city of your birth, no doubt trying, nay hoping to make me worry.
A foolish hope.  If you wish to shiver feel free.  You are, as you said early, “A grown-ass woman who doesn’t need to be treated like a damned toddler.”
Our disagreement of tonight grew from such a small grain of sand, the merest irritant, into a magnificent black pearl of acrimony, followed by your walking out of our home with not a backwards glance, leaving me alone with no resolution.   It has tipped me over the edge into fury, though I have ever tried to control my darker instincts in your presence.
Without you here I need to feel the comfort and familiarity of my rage.  I crave the sensation of my limbs tensing, my vision growing narrow, the snarl forming as my lip curls to show the fangs that wish to bite the throat of my enemy.  All of which comes from the resigned pleasure of knowing that every creature is my enemy.
That I am alone.
Whenever the cold within me was burned by that acid splash anger for a few moments I knew a kind of warmth.
You allow me none of that comfort, that familiar pleasure, as I am forced to contain myself for fear of harming you, weak mortal that you are.
Even when I am clearly in the rig-
(Written with a light hand, each letter perfectly formed, on Loki’s personal stationary.  Found scratched out on a notepad near an open window, with the words “Am I in fact trying to end my marriage?” scrawled over it -)
Wife-
I think you would agree that this unpleasant matter between us has grown out of proportion to my original crime, if crime it could even be called.  You knew my nature when we wed, so any surprise that I have done what I have done seems disingenuous on your part.
As disingenuous as pretending your phone has run out of charge and that those ridiculous trainers you were wearing when you left would be sufficient to protect your feet against the slush and snow on the sidewalks.
There is no question in my mind that, having taken this time to calm yourself, the rational part of your being will have returned and you will acknowledge that you have behaved like a little shrew and I have-
(Scribbled on a piece of scrap paper with a pencil.  Found in the kitchen on the floor, clearly forgotten -)
Dear Nora,
Perhaps I was a tad hasty when I said you were being hysterical.  On further reflection, as all of this time you have allowed me to myself has given me more than sufficient for such reflection, I see that I may have acted in haste and your thoughts on the matter are perhaps clearer than my own.  If you would only return I could tell you this in person.
I would love to tell you many things in person at this moment.
I may even consider offering an apology, even a rather abject one.  Though you, my princess, will not insist upon one because you lack in the vindictive nature that would rejoice to see me humbled before you.
Mostly.
Somewhat...
Very well, you are nearly as vindictive as I and would probably relish seeing me abase myself before you for my asinine comments to you early this evening but your even greater decency would keep you from insisting upon such a humbling.   Much earlier this evening.
How long have you been gone?
I think it may be going to snow soon.  It is definitely growing colder. It sure cannot be more than seventeen of your degrees out.
Never mind, I’m going to find you.
(Found on a bedside tray along with a ridiculously elaborate breakfast with a gentle, golden glow of magic about it to keep the toast warm, the bacon crisp, the coffee hot, and the orange juice cold, and a bouquet of Veilchenblau, and a pair of thick, green cashmere socks - )
My Treasure -
Your feet are very cold.  As a Frost Giant I know whereof I speak.
You were sleeping so soundly this morning, clearly exhausted, your head resting on my arm and the rest of you languidly rolled against me that I found it imperative that I leave our bed for fear of waking you with kisses and other, more prurient activities.
Last night was so long and lonely without you.  When I finally after so long of a search found you - singing karaoke, of course, with your brilliant brown eyes shining with joy at the music - the words of your song pierced me with their truth.  Forever is just a day with you.
And forever could never be enough.
All of your whole, beautiful, mortal life will be just a day for me.  Would that we shall never spend another moment of it apart.
I love you, though you may pray sometimes that the universe offer you surcease from the responsibility of my heart, it shall always be so,
-- L
(Found written across the bottom of the above note -)
I was gone for an hour and a half before you showed up at the bar.  Where Marissa told you I was when you called her looking for me, you idiot.
I love you, so much I missed you too.
I am also an idiot.
In the bath.  Come find me again.

Chocolate Fountain
Tumblr media
Made for @loki-the-fox’s River’s Valentine’s Day Marvel Writing Challenge.
Prompt: Person A attempts to make Valentine’s Day chocolate for Person B.
Characters: Loki x Sigyn
Summary: Loki demonstrates magic for Sigyn to make their night together special.
Words: 518
Author’s note: Tweaked the prompt slightly. Sequel to this. This is pre-Thor. Thor and Loki are roughly the equivalent of teenage humans. In my fanfiction, Sigyn and Loki dated sometime when they were younger.
“It’s beautiful,” said Sigyn.
Two twining bands of misty magic reached the ceiling of the foyer, within two rings of magic stones on the ground. Sigyn was standing as close to Loki’s conjuration as she could, her eyes twinkling in the blue light. Blue sparks darted across the walls, and the room seemed to floating in space, or be submerged underwater.
Loki was watching Sigyn intently. Her golden hair sat in neat waves across her head and her shimmering dress made her look almost ethereal.
“Imagine if we had these wards as part of the kingdom’s defences,” said Sigyn. “We’d always know we were safe.”
Sigyn was always able to come up with things Loki hadn’t thought of himself. It would certainly take a great burden off Heimdall’s shoulders.
All of Loki’s fears and anxieties had vanished. It was as if he, Sigyn, and that room were the whole universe. “I knew you’d like it. It’s the best that I have to offer.”
Sigyn faced him. “Better than chocolate?”
Chocolate was a rare treat in Asgard, and some time ago, Loki had got an idea to make a chocolate fountain. It had been a hard job to acquire enough chocolate to fill even two tiers.
Loki had assumed that making a small mechanical fountain would be easy, but chocolate was trickier to work with than water. The chocolate had ended up freezing, and their attempts to put it right had just made a huge mess. Fortunately, Thor hadn’t been there to see it.
Loki had been meaning to work on the fountain again, but he had got distracted learning new spells. “Would you like that, too?” he asked.
“You don’t have to if it’s too much trouble,” said Sigyn quickly.
Loki turned away. As much as he wanted to please Sigyn, getting chocolate from Midgard was no easy task. And all of his mechanical equipment was in his chambers, but he didn’t like to be seen with Sigyn around the palace. Too many courtiers and servants to spread rumors.
He knew Sigyn would never hold anything against him, but he hated to see her disappointed.
Sigyn waited patiently while Loki dissipated the spell and gathered the stones into a pouch. Then they wandered arm-in-arm into the indoor garden. Petals were squashed soundlessly under their feet. In the middle of the garden was a bubbling fountain.
Loki suddenly had an idea. “Darling, close your eyes.”
Sigyn obeyed, a smirk playing about her lips.
Loki went to the fountain cast a spell over it. “Alright, open them.”
One nervous second passed. Then Sigyn gasped in delight.
The liquid gushing from the fountain was now thick, brown chocolate. It didn’t splash out and it didn’t freeze, but ran endlessly.
“I can smell it, too!” Sigyn approached the fountain in wonder.
“Anything is real if you want it to be,” said Loki.
Sigyn reached towards the chocolate, then drew her hand back. “This is definitely the best chocolate fountain Asgard has ever seen.”
“It’s the best chocolate fountain anyone has ever seen.” Loki put his arm around Sigyn, hypnotized by the fountain.
Here’s some music to go with the story:
'All Because of You’ by Blackmore’s Night
