curious where this idea is coming from that the ghost family doesn't know about each others' forms. literally in-game you have napstablook calling into mettaton's show, and this is a ghost so socially anxious their friend request rejects itself. the christmas party dialogue has mad mew mew forcing mettaton to drink ghost juice, which would be completely pointless if she didn't know he was once a ghost, and he also seems to be aware of it ("Drinking ghost juice...that neither of us could taste" would be not half as sad if mew mew was never a ghost, in addition to the fact that they're both equally concerned abt napstablook, who they both know does not have many friends outside their family). w/ all respect to the "I think mad mew mew and mettaton would get along much better if they knew they were related :)" crowd, They Know.

(UNDERTALE USELESS THOUGHTS +SPOILER?) METTATON CANONICALLY IS A CISGENDER CHARACTER, NOT TRANSEXUAL:

I don't understand why people still misunderstand Mettaton's gender in 2023.

In the game no one says that he is transexual.

People consider him canonically a girl or a transexual character (FtM). The ghost inside him is gender neutral (like their cousin Blooky) not a girl and the robot form (Mettaton) is a femboy/drag queen like. Femboys and dragqueens are NOT ALWAYS transexual. He is a man who like pinky stuff and feminime dresses and make ups. It doesn't mean that he is transexual or a female, it is a ugly stereotype because if this is a valid way of thinking it means that if a guy has girly manners and speech or is transexual or gay, what? It is not always like that, so Rouxls Kaard is a female because he has long eyelashes and long hair???

Mettaton is an actor/showman. Actors are usually eccentric personality so Mettaton cross dresses, tries child murder and places bombs to increase attention and views on his shows and figure.

And i think that more than a trans metaphor (who doesn't make any sense because the character is not trans so the trans allegory has no logic) is a metaphor to someone who hasn't no identity and goal in society (Hapstablook who didn't have a body) who thanks to his friend (Alphys) becomes someone important (Mettaton). Then MTT was so self asorbed that putted aside Alphys and only when she died he realized how selfish and bad he was to the monster who helped him so much to reach his goal.

I've got so many jmart AU and crossover ideas in my head it's unreal.
