Please reblog the story of a 17 year old Maria from Mariupol, who survived the “filtration camp” in russia.

“This filtration camp wasn’t a settlement. Is was just a column of cars. There were hundreds of cars before us, and behind us too. We weren’t allowed to leave the car.
They were always watching us, who does what, where and how. Everything that people do in their lives, we had to do inside of the car. It was very difficult. We had sore feet and the whole body was aching. We spent two full days and two nights in our car, just like other people.
We were told that filtration is for those who are 14 and older. My sister is 12. She stayed in the car. Mom couldn’t walk at the time, so they didn’t care about her. It’s good that she wasn’t at the filtration. She couldn’t have endured this, she could’ve been very scared of the things that we heard.
When dad and I went to the filtration, I understood that it will be very difficult for me. How could I forget about Ukraine?
I will never forget this conversation between two soldiers. “What have you done with those who didn’t pass?” “Shot 10, didn’t count after that. Not interesting”
They left me in the first room, in this filtration cabin. They took my documents, scanned them. They scanned my fingerprints and checked my phone.
There, in that room, there were 5 men - 5 armed soldiers. I was alone and I was very scared. It was difficult to stand straight, and then one of the soldiers, the one who was lying on the mattress, said:
“I don’t like this one - there’ll be more women later, we’ll find something”
They decided they don’t like me and let me go. Well, they just shoved me out. And they didn’t let me wait for my father. They said, “If you passed, you must go”.
We’ve been waiting for dad for 40 minutes.
Later, when we left the place, we were told to go to Berdiansk [an occupied Ukrainian town]. When we got there, dad told us about his filtration.
The questions were unpleasant. Not just about the government, Ukraine, the whole situation. Who he is and what he plans to do next.
There even was a question “What if I cut off your ear? What will be next?”
We don’t know why they asked these questions.
And when they saw there’s nothing on his phone, not even a sim card, started asking who he is and pushing that question. They wanted to get something out of him. And they didn’t like what he said. They started hitting him, then hit him on his head. He says he doesn’t remember what happened next. He regained consciousness outside.
When we were going from Berdiansk to Zaporizhzhia [a city under Ukrainian control], we passed 27 posts. Every post was the same. At least they didn’t ask us about filtration anymore. Probably, the filtration was important there.
When we saw the flag, the blue and yellow flag, we couldn’t believe our eyes. Dad said it’s to early to be happy. That this could be another provocation and we must be silent. We need to be patient, just a little longer.
When it was our turn, they said “Good afternoon, your documents, please”. Dad was silent, showed them the car quietly. We were afraid this might be another filtration camp, where people fall into this trap in a minute.
But when they saw the address in our documents and started asking us “Mariupol? How is it? What horrors have you been through?”, we knew it’s our people. We knew we’re on our land, because the occupant could never speak Ukrainian this beautiful.
We saw their chevrons, we saw their uniforms. And we knew, yes, we are on our land.
Even the sky was different. It was clear. There wasn’t this dust that gets up and remains in the air because of explosions.
We got this hope, that we can go back to our life. That we can live again. We really deserve that after all these horrors. We wanted to live very much”

Nice of Dr Snyder to mention this genre ruscist revanchist fiction. Russian isekai is overwhelmingly about resentment and an imperial dream.
Because russia is a pile of shit that progressively moved from soft authoritarianism of 2000s towards totalitarianism of 2020s.

Energoatom of Ukraine:
The second power unit was connected to the grid at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
Today, on August 26, 2022, at 9:15 pm, the second of the ZNNP power units that were shut down yesterday was connected to the power grid. Currently, capacity is being ramped up.
There are no remarks on the operation of equipment and safety systems.
As a reminder, today at 2:04 pm the first of the power units that were shut down yesterday was connected to the grid.
Thus, Zaporizhzhya NPP, despite numerous provocations carried out by the occupiers, keeps operating in the power system of Ukraine and meeting our country's electricity needs.
Zaporizhzhya NPP nuclear power professionals are real heroes! They tirelessly and tightly hold the nuclear and radiation safety of Ukraine and the whole of Europe on their shoulders, and they’re working selflessly to get their home country to have life-giving electricity.
We are proud of you and thankful for your efforts!
Source: Energoatom on Facebook
It is horrifying even to imagine the situation the specialists of Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant are going through. russian occupiers have threatened, beaten, murdered workers of the plant, and shelled its territory. It is a nuclear plant, do you understand? Damage to it can make the soil, water, and people of entire countries horribly, irreparably poisoned. Now imagine operating this plant while a psychopath is shooting at it and at you. The specialists of Zaporizhzhya NPP are stronger than steel. Thanks to their willpower and bravery, we are still here today. They should not have been put in these impossible conditions! I hope the world gets serious and helps get the ruscists out of the plant.

People i just want to cry a little, it have been the third month of Russian military invasion in Ukraine and i know you a little forget about it, but it's appears in our minds every second for three month. I know you don’t see as much information as before, but it doesn't mean genocide of Ukrainians stoped and things got normalized, no, they didn't. More victims every day, more destroyed cities, raped children, but you just don't hear about it. So I'm here to remind. All i know about Russian army is the fact they are ruthless fascists. In those three months, they committed a number of war crimes comparable to several years of the Second World War. It's not a military conflict, it's genocide of Ukrainian nation and all the people who do not meet their fascists white supremacy standarts. They literally said it. They will never stop just like that, they have weapons and no empathy and human feelings, now Ukraine is protecting the whole of Europe from the military offensive of ruscists. Ukrainians fight not only for their country but democracy in the whole world.
Remember it and please support Ukraine. 💙💛

Have you heard about the Russian Voluntary Corps in Bryansk? RVU is organized and leaded by russian neo-nazists like Denis Kapustin "White Rex". Right now the story about them entering two villages in Bryansk, attacking a hospital and shooting a bus with children [what very likely is only a story] is terribly actively useful and forced by the ruscist propaganda. Do you have any info about it? It'd be good if this info could be debunked.
I know, the buzz about this is all around the place. Doubt I can be of any help tho - I have access to the same open sources you do. And overall it doesn't feel right to share any theories right now, I don't want to spread any misinfo by accident. I've seen a lot of contradictory stories already, and typically it's the tactic kremlin uses to bury the truth under the weight of too much information. Usually I'd say wait a couple of days for dust for settle down and let the facts reveal themselves, but with the fog of war god knows if we'll get any factual information anytime.

Daily Wrap Up January 5-6, 2023
Under the cut:
Russia’s unilateral ceasefire to allow soldiers to celebrate Orthodox Christmas officially began at noon Moscow time, according to Russian state TV.
Luhansk’s governor, Serhiy Haidai, said Russian troops opened fire 14 times in the Ukrainian region during the first three hours of a unilateral ceasefire announced by Vladimir Putin to mark Orthodox Christmas. Russian forces also tried to storm one of the liberated villages in Luhansk oblast during the “Christmas truce”, Haidai wrote on Telegram.
A new US weapons aid package for Ukraine worth more than $3bn will include for the first time several dozen Bradley fighting vehicles, the White House has announced. The latest US aid – totalling about $2.85bn and about 50 Bradleys – is the largest assistance package to date that Washington has provided to Ukraine and marks the Biden’s administration’s latest step to help Ukraine beat back Russian forces.
Germany will provide Ukraine with Marder infantry fighting vehicles and an additional Patriot air defense battery, German ambassador to the US Emily Haber said on Thursday.
Ukraine will need at least $1.79 billion to restore its telecommunications sector to pre-war levels, a U.N. agency said in a report published on Friday alleging Russia had "destroyed completely or seized" networks in parts of the country.
On Jan. 5, Ukrainian forces conducted a strike on a temporary base of Russian troops in Havrylivka Druha, a village in Kherson Oblast near the Russia-occupied Crimean peninsula, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported on Jan. 6. “Currently, it is known that up to 100 wounded (Russian) soldiers were brought to local hospitals,” the General Staff said, adding that the number of killed Russian troops is being clarified.
“Russia’s unilateral ceasefire to allow soldiers to celebrate Orthodox Christmas officially began at noon Moscow time, according to Russian state TV.
Russia’s state first TV channel reported:
At noon today, the ceasefire regime came into force on the entire contact line. It will continue until the end of 7 January.
Russia has been criticised for failing to offer a ceasefire on 25 December, which many Orthodox Ukrainians celebrate, and new year, with many observers speculating that its objective is to allow Russian soldiers to rest.
The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, rejected the idea, saying the goal was to halt the progress of Ukraine’s forces in Donetsk and the wider eastern Donbas region and bring in more of Moscow’s forces.”-via The Guardian

Russian forces also tried to storm one of the liberated villages in Luhansk oblast during the “Chstrimas truce”, Haidai wrote on Telegram.
He said:
Briefly on the three hours of Putin’s ‘Christmas truce’ in Luhansk region. From 12:00 to 15:00. The Ruscists fired artillery 14 times and stormed one of our settlements three times. People in de-occupied villages shelter in basements all day. Orthodox murderers greet you on Christmas.
It has not been possible to independently verify his claims.”-via The Guardian

The package includes a $2.85bn drawdown from the Pentagon’s stocks that will be sent directly to Ukraine and $225m in foreign military financing to build the long-term capacity and support the modernisation of Ukraine’s military, the White House said.
Announcing the aid, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said:
The war is at a critical point and we must do everything we can to help the Ukrainians resist Russian aggression.
The aid includes 50 Bradleys as well as 500 anti-tank missiles and 250,000 rounds of ammunition for the carriers.
The US will also send 100 M113 armoured personnel carriers, 55 mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles (MRAPS), and 138 HUMVEES, as well as ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and air defence systems and other weapons, according to officials.
The Bradley fighting vehicle is an armoured carrier that has been used regularly by the US army to transport troops to combat since the mid-1980s. The Bradley’s armour and its main weapon, a 25mm chain gun paired with a lighter machine gun and a pair of TOW anti-tank missiles, make it a highly capable modern fighting vehicle.”-via The Guardian

“Germany will provide Ukraine with Marder infantry fighting vehicles and an additional Patriot air defense battery, German ambassador to the US Emily Haber said on Thursday.
“Germany will provide Marder infantry fighting vehicles to #Ukraine️. We’ll also join the U.S. in supplying an additional Patriot air defense battery,” she wrote on Twitter.
The Marder is an infantry fighting vehicle used by the German military since the early 1970’s but continuously upgraded. While the German military is in the process of phasing the vehicle out, hundreds are still in service.
An infantry fighting vehicle is a heavily armed armored vehicle used to move soldiers around the battlefield. It’s usually deployed together with main battle tanks.
German Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Robert Habeck on Thursday hailed his government’s “logical” decision to send more military aid to Ukraine.
"This is a good decision. Since the beginning of the war, we have increasingly expanded our support in cooperation with our partners. It is logical that we also take this step. Ukraine has the right to defend itself against the Russian attack, and we have a duty to help it do so,” he said.”-via CNN

“Ukraine will need at least $1.79 billion to restore its telecommunications sector to pre-war levels, a U.N. agency said in a report published on Friday alleging Russia had "destroyed completely or seized" networks in parts of the country.
The long-anticipated and sensitive damage assessment by the Geneva-based International Telecommunication Union (ITU) was commissioned in April to assess the extent of destruction of Ukraine's communication networks as a result of Russia's invasion last February.
The report, which covers the first six months of the war, found that there was considerable damage and destruction to communications infrastructure in more than 10 out of 24 regions of Ukraine.
"Since the beginning of military attacks, with the purpose of using the facilities in its interests and for its own needs, the aggressor either destroyed completely or seized the regular operation of public and private terrestrial telecommunication and critical infrastructure in the temporarily occupied and war-affected territories of Ukraine," the report said.
It also alleges that Moscow unilaterally switched Ukrainian dialling codes, fixed by the U.N. agency, to Russian ones and that there had been 1,123 cyber attacks against Ukraine.
An official with the Russian diplomatic mission in Geneva dismissed the report's allegations, saying they were designed to divert attention from unspecified "atrocities" committed by Ukraine on Russian-occupied territory.
The foreign ministry in Moscow did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”-via Reuters

“Currently, it is known that up to 100 wounded (Russian) soldiers were brought to local hospitals,” the General Staff said, adding that the number of killed Russian troops is being clarified.
Over the last 24 hours, the Ukrainian Air Force struck a Russian personnel base, while Ukraine’s rocket and artillery forces hit two other Russian personnel and military equipment concentration areas over the past day, the General Staff said, without providing further details.
Earlier on Jan. 5, the General Staff also said that Ukraine's forces launched 20 attacks on the areas of concentration of Russian troops. On Jan. 3, a Ukrainian strike on Russian-occupied Tokmak in Zaporizhzhia Oblast killed and wounded 80 Russian soldiers, according to the General Staff.
The attack comes after hundreds more Russian mobilized soldiers were reported to have been killed in a Ukrainian strike on a school building in occupied Makiivka in Donetsk Oblast on the evening of Dec. 31. Unlike with other similar strikes, the Russian Defense Ministry acknowledged the attack in Makiivka, but said that only 89 soldiers had been killed.”-via Kyiv Independent

I would just like to remind everyone in the West that the Ruscist war on Ukraine isn't some tv special or summer miniseries that will end in time for the holidays (even though I wish it were) this particular aggression is part of a longer struggle for Russia as she loses her soviet empire and we have been engaged in the fight back before the West took an interest. I'm from Georgia; if the West had listened when we were being carpet bombed 6, 10, 15 years ago.....
