Description: During the War, Vietnam's coast had to be protected against Viet Cong ambushes and smuggling. The U.S. forces had destroyers, cruisers and gargantuan aircraft carriers, none suited for inshore patrol. This is the story of the Brown Water Navy, the garage-band flotilla assembled to do the job.Douglas Branson has been to Vietnam several times, including trips in 1966, 1995 and 2011. The first time, he was a 22-year-old, Brown Water Navy lieutenant JG. Subsequent visits were as a consultant/tourist. Here, Branson recounts three of his Vietnam adventures with humor, detail and insight into the economic, political and gastronomic forces at work.
Review: I'll be honest, I didn't finish this book. I read the vietnam war part, and skipped the rest because even the war part was difficult to get through. This wasn't quite a 1 star book but it definitely came close. For anyone who has read anything about Operation Market Time, the Swift boats, or even coastal advisors - this book sets off red flags and alarm bells. The author has some very strong opinions about everyone and everything and often ... well ... let's just say that he vacillates wildly from complete bullshit to just plain stupid. Avoid this book and read Bob Andretta's Brown Water Runs Red for a better book on the Junk Force.

Natasha had never been one to panic. Or frighten, even. She was a sadist whose identity had been incised by years of watching her own innocence fall away from her until there was so little humanity left that she really didn’t know if she counted as human.
So, to put it simply, it wasn’t fear that made her bones quake as she listened to the high-pitched squeak that the hotel’s basement door emitted as it opened - it was excitement.
She could hear you stall at the top of the stairs and figured it was due to the smell of blood catching your senses. Her heart - assuming she still had one - pounded in retaliation to the metal door clanking shut and the creaks of old wood under your rain-soaked footsteps that followed.
Naturally, when your feet planted onto the cement flooring, your eyes landed on her. She met your gaze, emerald headlights flashing back at you in the dark. Then, as her hand circled tighter around her knife’s handle and knuckles popped under the pressure of her grip, your eyes fell away to the pools of blood surrounding her feet.
She was proud of the horrors she had committed. If you would have opened your mouth to ask her why she had done it, she would have said it was ‘for you’ or ‘in your honor’.
The shell of a man that lie limp on the floor behind her was cold now, lost of whatever warmth had surged through his veins only hours ago. But those hours ago, he had been a lonely shadow at the end of the bar who sat a little too close to you and let his hand longer a little too long at the small of your back and let his lips get a little too eager at the lobe of your ear as your girlfriend watched from across the room.
If Natasha was sane, now would be the time that she’d start spewing with apologies and excuses as to why she’d committed such a crime. But Natasha wasn’t sane; it wasn’t the first time she’d done this and it would take a trip to hell and back for her to apologize for anything. She was always right in her own mind.
Instead, she blinked at you with hollow eyes for a number of moments as you took in the sight of her and then her lips curled into a lopsided smirk. She stepped towards you with her knife raised at her side.
Your hand shot up in an attempt to halt her steps, “You’re dirty.” She scoffed your words, teeth sinking into her bottom lip as she continued her voyage towards you.
“Natasha, you’re dirty.” You repeated in annoyance when her chest collided into your outstretched hand. The blood on her shirt was warm still, coating the palm of your hand in a sea of red and you frowned before using her suit jacket to clean yourself off.
She didn’t care much for your distaste and was on you before you had the chance to do anything about it. Her head fell into the crook of your neck to nibble at your pulse point, “You like me this way.” You sucked in a puff of air through your teeth, grabbing her by the swells of her shoulders. “You’re covered in blood, Natalia!”
She smiled into your flesh at the harsh use of her real name, tongue stroking up the side of your throat and flicking against the shell of your ear. “I did this for you. That bastard was bothering you and I fixed it.” You could feel the tip of her knife graze against your stomach.
There was a lot about the situation that should have alarmed you; the blood, the crazed look in your girlfriend’s eyes, the body that you were sure was lingering somewhere in the shadows behind her. But the blade carving against the bottom hem of your shirt was not one of them.
Clink. One of your buttons went spiraling across the cement floor as she cut it free from the fabric; followed by another, and another. “I did this for you.” She repeated, softened and low as she felt the goosebumps that she had already known would rise onto your skin.
“You need to be more careful.” You cooed as you finally gave into her game and your hand found it’s place in the hair at the back of her head, fingertips massaging at her scalp. “You’ve made a mess.” You gestured at the blood behind her and the footprints from the bottoms of her boots
She didn’t mind the mess, or bother to acknowledge that you had even said anything about it. She popped the last button from your top and let it fall open to reveal you the unmarked skin of your stomach. “So pretty, my girl is.” She hummed in satisfaction, the cold metal of the blade dipping into the valley of your bellybutton.
“Thank you, baby.” You cooed, stretching your stomach towards her as the knife prodded against your skin. Her stomach leapt excitedly at your silent invitation to continue before she moved the weapon down, carefully and erotically slow, until it was slicing away at the zipper of your pants and opening the fabric to her.
Her free hand dipped into your underwear and she bathed in the breathy moan you rewarded her with when her fingers parted through your folds. “You act like you’re ashamed of me but you’re soaked through your clothes and it’s not because of the rain.” The smirk was clearly painted in her words.
Your hand came forward and wrapped around her jaw, forcing her to meet your eyes, “How about you stop talking and make it up to me proper?” You encouraged, tongue peaking out to lash against her parted lips.
She shivered and parted ways with the knife, letting it loudly clatter to the ground in harmony with your shuttered whimper as her fingers sunk into your cunt. “Gonna make you feel so good, butterfly.”

April is National Poetry Month! Let’s enjoy some USCG poems
By M. Marie Maxwell, an Archives Specialist at the National Archives | The Text Message
It’s April.
Spring is springing. Birds are singing. Poetry is in the air and it’s National Poetry Month.
Although I haven’t been inspired to pen any verses, I did take time out from checking meta data of citizen scans to appreciate some rhymes. So some of you are wondering how’s my detail in the Innovation Hub going? Well it isn’t too different from my microfilm lab days and the few digital descriptions I got into the catalog while in Textual Processing. There are other functions to the Innovation Hub, but description is the part is more familiar to me. And when you describe sometimes you notice things about the series, or records you’re describing and I picked up on the New Years Day poetry that is found in the RG 26 United States Coast Guard January Logbooks of Ships and Shore Installations, 1948-1972 (NAID 559642).
Check out this one from the USCG Blackhaw January 1970:
A twas the custom in the past
In writing logs before the mast
I will enter these first few lines
in the grammatical manner of simple rhymes
From starboard side to this marginal wharf, I report
In the Republic of the Philippines, Sangley Point the port,
Standard mooring lines doubled from fore to aft
With standing lights brightly enhancing our craft,
Commanding Officer, Coast Guard District Fourteen
I maintaining our opscan ’til RVN ops convene
The sailing status of Bravo-twenty-four has been acclaimed
Condition yoke has been set and Defian IV maintained
Sections one, two, and four are our liberty now
Only section three stays this side of the brow
The Commanding Officer remains absent this day,
Either at home or the Filipinas Hotel he will stay
The end of the watch will soon be here
So in closing I pass this watch to you
EH Ryan, an officer too

Best Rap 2018
This year has been probably the most packed year of all time in terms of the sheer volume of decent rap releases. Due to the huge quantity of releases it’s easy to miss out on a lot of great music and get lost in the mix. With that in mind, I wanted to create a long list that can be bookmarked and returned to for those who slept.
I could have easily created a top 300 and still felt bad about leaving a few good albums out. That said, I've managed to cut it down to a slightly more definitive (but hardly concise) top 150 so this doesn't read like too much of a phone book.
As in previous years, ‘Rap’ is on the banner, but the list is made up of hip-hop, UK road rap, grime, and anything that can adequately be categorised as a rap sub-genre in my mind.
Finally, as usual, don’t get too hung up on the order. The top albums are at the top and the still-quality-but-not-quite-elite albums are towards the lower end, but there’s no use getting too hung up about what appears as, say, my 57th and 61st favourite albums. This is designed and published primarily for myself to look back on in years to come and reflect on the year, but also for anyone who reads it to see it as recommended listening that should keep you very busy.
I would write a blurb for each and every album to explain why I love them, but no-one would pay me and my time is valuable, so instead I’ve linked each album to their Spotify stream…Enjoy, and feel free to let me know if I've missed anything!
Here’s my top 150 rap albums of 2018. Happy new year!

Vietnam Travel Offers: Inexpensive Flights, Excursions And Much More
My complete wrath was not a fairly sight! These days you have a complete day to discover Vietnam’s charming capital. If you have much more time, you could also invest a couple of days in Da Nang and Hue. These who anticipate to remain much more than 90 days should apply for visa in accordance to present stipulations prior to their entrance. So the following week (Or was it just a couple of days later on?), 1 of my childhood buddies known as me up simply because she had a bun bo Hue craving.
Vietnam is 1 of 3 contemporary-day nations that constitute what is recognized as Indochina. I informed them I would create ezines on my experiences in then the Republic of Vietnam (RVN). It was way back in 2013, when I initial visited this incredible nation of Vietnam. Did a bit of final minute buying & ultimately received back to the hotel to board our bus in time. Include the two finely minced stalks of lemongrass and saute for a minute or so to release the fragrance.
The former imperial city of Hue is however an additional of Vietnam’s wonders, with its sublime Forbidden Purple City and magnificent Thein Mu Pagoda. We began to get rolling out of the city in late morning, about 09:thirty A.M or some thing. Have lunch at a downtown restaurant of your selecting then set out on a guided city tour.
The child promoting footwear does not have to compete with Payless Shoe Shops or Wal-Mart. Generally a option in between thinly reduce slices of beef or chicken, this is certainly the dish to judge any Vietnamese restaurant on. In August 1964, it was reported that the North Vietnamese attacked the USS Maddox in worldwide waters. So I determined to make a kind of deconstructed Vietnamese meatball sandwich.
Dzung has excelled himself as soon as once more with an incredible restaurant option for the last evening of the tour. https://www.ultimatevietnam.com , 2012 Update: Sadly, this restaurant is now closed. Appears like it has the very best meals, to, in accordance to some of my buddies right here in Hanoi. These excursions nevertheless, will be much more versatile, personal, and unique to only you, your family members and buddies.
Nevertheless, we think that with the expanding work of the government to reduce via the red tape, the regulatory hurdles will be considerably lowered in the long term. Your travel strategy will be a lot simpler with us. It by no means does and I usually appear to hope that it will. They think the on-line dating solutions will assist them to discover their 2nd half. Our Excursions Are Personal: Customized excursions or customized excursions will frequently be a small much more costly than scheduled or “join in” group excursions.
Day eleven: Halong Bay - Hanoi.
Right here are photos of the boat dock and river and of the row-lady and us in the boat (no gloves). 85There are no particular provisions on application procedures. In Hanoi, discover the previous quarter, revered as a jewel of Hanoi simply because of its idyllic setting about pristine Hoan Kiem Lake and the close by labyrinthine streets devoted to regional merchandise. Day eleven: Halong Bay - Hanoi. Cruise about the islands of Halong Bay.
You can also guide your bus transfer going to the border in between Cambodia and Thailand. Amendments to the visa can be produced only when the visa is nonetheless legitimate. The Vinpearl Resort and Spa is a resort island that can be accomplished by motorboat or the Vinpearl cable automobile, the longest sea-crossing cable car plan in the globe. You can get bia hoi (watered down draft beer) for as small as 5k VND.
The climate in this region is fairly cold in the winter we’re informed, with snow settling on the tops of the peaks but by no means sticking down in the villages. We suggest going on a trek with Sapa Sisters, a social enterprise owned by the nearby guides. Overnight at the hotel in Nha Trang. Right here is a hyperlink to just the Saigon/Mekong Delta component with photos.
Click right here for much more info about Dalat Tour. Much more than three million individuals fled from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, numerous as "boat individuals". A well-liked action is canyoning, or rappelling up a waterfall, and then jumping off the waterfall. In principle, it is the overseas purchaser of a meals item that sets the high quality, security, or hygienic requirements with which the item should comply. The Tay lives in wooden or bamboo stilt homes close to a stream or river.

Description: During the early years of the Vietnam War, a small group of American soldiers carried the fight to the Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese Army, often under difficult circumstances. Their sacrifices generally went unrecognized and unappreciated by a mostly indifferent nation. But a massive influx of American troops would soon alter the entire nature and perception of the war. THE FROST WEEDS graphically describes the horror, the heroism and even the humor of the Vietnam experience while offering a far different perspective of the war than that epitomized by the larger conflict that followed. It is an astonishing account of a small U.S. military advisory team struggling to deal with a ruthless enemy and an often exasperating ally.
Review: This was an excellent book by an excellent author. He was able to craft a good narrative and understood pacing and flow which is rare for many of these books. The tales he told of the early years of the vietnam war, the 64/65 period, of what it was like at Ta Bat, A Shau, and Khe Sanh, his explorations of Hue, and the battle of Nam Dong were well done and gave you a really good sense of who was there, what happened, and what the experience was like being an Advisor radioman attached to an ARVN unit.

Description: As a 26-year old Marine radar intercept officer (RIO), Fleet Lentz flew 131 combat missions in the back seat of the supersonic F-4 B Phantom II during the wind-down of the Vietnam War. Overcoming military regulations, he and his fellow Marines at The Rose Garden (Royal Thai Air Base Nam Phong) kept sorely needed supplies moving in while moving combat troops out of Southeast Asia. His personal and accessible memoir describes how pilots and RIOs executed dangerous air-to-ground bombing missions in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos—quite different from the air-to-air warfare for which they had trained—and kept themselves mission-capable (and human) while surviving harsh circumstances.
Review: This book should actually have been called A Frontseat View of Nam Phong. The amount he wrote on flying and being in the air and in combat is miniscule - barely a footnote - when compared to his detailed rememberances of people, what they did at the bar, what he did as a building inspector on base, and details on scrounging for stuff at Cubi Point and elsewhere. But to really get a feel of what it was like to fly combat in Laos and Cambodia and both South and North Vietnam, you'd better get a different book because this one barely mentions any of that. Definitely a 2 star book simply because of the misleading title and description. If this was supposed to be a book about life at an Air Base, it'd be a 3 at least, but NOPE.

Description: In a gripping memoir that reads like a spy novel, one man recounts his personal experience with Operation Phoenix, the program created to destroy the Vietcong’s shadow government, which thrived in the rural communities of South Vietnam.
Stuart A. Herrington was an American intelligence advisor assigned to root out the enemy in the Hau Nghia province. His two-year mission to capture or kill Communist agents operating there was made all the more difficult by local officials who were reluctant to cooperate, villagers who were too scared to talk, and VC who would not go down without a fight. Herrington developed an unexpected but intense identification with the villagers in his jurisdiction–and learned the hard way that experiencing war was profoundly different from philosophizing about it in a seminar room.
Review: One of the best books on Vietnam that I've ever read. Published shortly after the fall of Saigon, the book has a timeliness that is readily apparent to the reader. The thoughts are fresh, the memories are crystal clear, and the painful mental wounds of the experience are sharp. This is a book about the Phoenix program that is 100% about everything BUT the phoenix program. There is very little mention of the PRU teams, and the author is brutally honest about his failure to actually get a phoenix program working in his area. Instead he uses a mix of other tools to attack the viet cong infrastructure and spends much of his time crafting his skills as an interrogator and on the military intelligence he is able to exploit from those discussions. The book is above all else, one of the best on ARVN/US relations at this level, on how to interrogate and exploit that info, and a really good look at the 72 Easter Offensive.

Description: Upon his arrival in Vietnam, Lieutenant Paul Clement Pritchard found himself assigned to the Army of the Republic of Vietnam’s Four Corps as a military Advisor. From Four Corps, he was recruited into the Phoenix Program, which was designed to neutralize, capture, interrogate, and kill influential Viet Cong operatives. Pritchard saw horrors as both a military Advisor and a member of a Phoenix provincial reconnaissance unit. He saw violations of the Geneva Convention on both sides and watched as the military slowly ceded the Phoenix Program to government agencies. Throughout his ordeal, Pritchard wrote letters home—letters that gave no indication he’d held the limp body of a bloody baby in his arms, stepped in to prevent the torture of a young woman by his erstwhile allies, or endured sniper attacks and mortar fire. His letters offer a stark contrast to the reality he lived in—the humid, wet world of the Vietnam jungle, where death was an ever-present danger. A unique, candid, honest look at the Vietnam conflict from the ground level, "A Young Man in War" covers months in Pritchard’s life that are seared into his memory, no matter how much he’d like to forget them. **

Description: In September 1962, when Martin Dockery landed in Saigon, he was a young, determined, idealistic U.S. Army first lieutenant convinced of America’s imminent victory in Vietnam. While most of the twelve thousand U.S. military advisors in-country at the time filled support positions in Saigon and other major cities, Dockery was one of a handful of advisors assigned to Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) combat units. For eight months Dockery lived and fought in the heart of the Mekong Delta with an ARVN infantry battalion on missions and operations that often lasted several days. And for most of that time, whether tramping through the steaming, leech-infested jungle, hiking across canals, or engaging in sudden firefights, Dockery was the only American soldier with the unit. Dockery’s solitary assignment with ARVN during the infancy of U.S. involvement in Southeast Asia afforded him an understanding of Vietnam far more profound than most other Americans. Lost in Translation is his riveting account of the largely overlooked role of American combat advisors in the war. As he vividly evokes the sounds, smells, and vistas of the country and its people, Dockery depicts an army poorly trained, incompetent, and unwilling to fight for a government every bit as corrupt as that of the French colonial empire it replaced. Yet even worse than his daily fare of isolation, frustration, and danger was Dockery’s growing conviction that the advisory program was doomed. Though these dedicated, highly motivated advisors would do their best and persevere under the most trying circumstances, they would not succeed. The author’s eyewitness testimony provides inescapable evidence that as early as 1962 the writing was already on the wall concerning the outcome of the Vietnam War. Although it would take U.S. leaders more than a decade to divine what the young officer learned in a single year, Dockery’s personal and penetrating analysis of the war—which he presented in a lecture at a Special Forces facility in Germany one week after his tour in Vietnam ended—proved chillingly accurate. Those who send soldiers to war should consider the realities and truths within these pages.

Description: I boarded the plane to Vietnam at exactly midnight on January 1st, 1967. I was a 19 year old soldier with pen and paper in hand. I began to write. “Letters from Long Binh gives the reader an honest appraisal of the everyday life of an MP in Vietnam. Sometimes poignant, sometimes humorous, but always gripping, the book is written with a deep sense of respect for his fellow brothers-in-arms in a war-torn county.” Lou Fantauzzi - Vietnam 1966-67
Review:  A quick read about a US Army MP assigned to convoy duty along Highway 1 and 15, town patrol at Bien Hoa, and various duties at Long Binh Post. It's basically a compendium of letters he wrote home to his then girlfriend, sanitized, optimistic, and pretty up-beat throughout the book - so if you're looking for a seat of your pants, blood and guts, action packed, emotionally wrecking, in depth expose, you won't find it here. Instead you get quaint stories, a glimpse at what he did and saw, and some commentary on the food. Worth noting is his view on one of the riots at the USARVIS/LBJ and also the Court Martial system. Definitely a good read and worth picking up

Description: Policing Saigon isn’t Platoon or Apocalypse Now, but the story of Loren W. Christensen's experience as a military policeman (MP) in a city of millions at a time when chaos and fear reigned. As a 23-year-old from a small town in Washington State, the author was plunged into a chaotic city of brawling servicemen, prostitutes, racial violence, enemy rockets, riots, and death. It was a place that would give him a unique opportunity to see up close a different side of the Vietnam War and its effect on the human condition. Nearly 80 stories collectively convey the author’s experiences, and his arc—from naive to jaded, angry, confused, anxious, and bone-weary exhausted—is representative of so many GIs who served in the Vietnam War as well as those veterans of today’s conflicts around the globe.
Review: A bit disjointed as he bounces from early in his deployment to late to back again, it can be best described as a collection of short stories and remembrances of his time as an MP. There is a lot left out, or just hinted at - things like firefights, shootouts, and bombings. There are no stories of confronting the vietcong, but there are a lot of him talking about his martial arts skills and how he used them on Americans, and of his inability to maintain control of his anger. He also talks about policing in general, and his experiences in Portland, where he also admits to losing control at times.
All in all not a bad book, and it’s interesting for the insight into the aspects he does open up about.

“Are you aware of how fucking insufferable you are?”Your girlfriend’s hands curled tightly around the arms of the wooden chair she had been perched in, her annoyance accentuated by narrowed eyes as she listened to Natasha deride her sex skills - or suggesting she had a lack thereof.
“Do you really mean it?” The red-head teased, feigning a pair of hopeful doe-eyes and completing her dramatics by letting her plump lips fall into a pout, “You sure know how to make a woman smile, Hill.”
You figured it best not to acknowledge the slight hint of adoration that coruscated in the blue pools of Maria’s irises. Natasha must have seen it as well, her all-too-familiar laugh suddenly bouncing off every inch of the paint that peeled from the walls.
When you joined her in laughing, she jumped at the opportunity to curl her fingers against the walls of your cunt and cut your sudden leisure short. The whimper that caught in your throat gave you a break from the two women’s bickering as they diverted their attention from degrading one another to watched you with equal amusement.
“Oh,” Natasha’s permanently tear-stained cheek brushed against your shoulder, “You look so pathetic, it almost makes me proud.” She cooed as her mouth fell to the shell of your ear. Her lips were cold, a trail of goosebumps rose on your skin and a shiver fell down your spine.
Surely, it would be a difficult task to explain your current situation to anyone other than those involved without sounding like a lunatic - honestly you probably were a lunatic.
There was no simple way to say that your girlfriend, a fairly rigid woman with a knack for finding the rationale in the irrational, had come to find herself seated in a busted-up, old rocking chair in the corner of a hotel room as you sat between the leg’s of an ex-lover who had long traded a pulse for a gravestone with her name on it less than two blocks away.
But here you were trapped between the icy flesh of her physical form, back pressed against her front, and two of her fingers stroking lazily inside you as if she’d have all the time in the world to do so. She was in no rush, feeling at every spongey inch of your cunt and letting her lips explore whatever exposed skin they could reach.
“Maria must be doing something right to keep that pretty head all dumb and willing, just how I like it.”
“Why do I keep coming here?” The brunette grumbled at the oblique compliment as she toyed with the intricate carvings along the furniture. It was a rhetorical question if anything. You knew she didn’t hate this as much as she pretended to, and that she had already swallowed any distaste for this ritual in her need to please you.
“Because Halloween, my dear Maria, is the only day of my miserable and eternal life that I have the chance to materialize into your living world.” She accented the ‘materialize’ by stroking her hand up your throat before locking around your airway, an obvious display that she was here and she was real.
“And because we have a running deal in which you keep my sweet girl safe and happy for 364 days a year, in exchange for me not spending these precious twenty-four house finding you and slitting your throat open for laying your greedy hands on her in the first place.”
Your body twitched excitedly, the hint of possession in Natasha’s voice combined with the feeling of her thumb grazing over your clit in fleeting, repetitive strokes.
Terrifying as it had sounded, Natasha was right.
She had been confined to this room for a number of years now - not that any one had ever dared to ask exactly how many given that Natasha’s only answer would be a fiery-eyed growl about the endlessness of eternity. And the days when she couldn’t see you had come to feel entirely too lonely for her liking.
Often, though, she could imagine you laying there in the room with her; spread out, half-naked, and smiling as you waited for her to crawl into the bed. It kept the loneliness from settling in, kept it from lingering in the air as she waded around the empty shell of a room.
She could still remember the first time you visited, the Halloween after she died. You were only looking for solace in her room, in the bed that had been hers.
And you remembered when she finally appeared to you, when you could feel her fingers brushing against your face to wipe at the stray tears that had dampened your cheeks.
“Okay, okay, I get it.” Maria hissed, teeth sinking into her bottom lip as she busied herself with rocking the chair back-and-forth gently.
“Wonderful, now shut the hell up and leave me to give my love the best sex she’s had since last Halloween.”

“I can’t be held responsible for what I am forced to do when someone tries to take you away from me, peach.” Even though the nickname was soft, Wanda’s tone was anything but.
She was nearly seething with anger from where she kneeled between your legs, hissing the words at you before her teeth sunk into the inside of your thigh. A shuttered plead left your lips and you could feel her’s curl into a smirk, “All those pretty sounds you make for me? I have to keep you for myself.”
Her tongue, icy but adept, trailed along the hot skin at the outside of your cunt. She teased your folds, letting you quiver above her as she explored your mouth with urgency like it was new territory for her.
Momentarily, she wished herself to be human for the sole purpose of blowing cold air against your clit. But her lack of lungs - or any organs at all - and incapability to breathe made the task impossible.
Moments like that only reminded you both that her attraction to you was complex in nature - an assembly of technicalities and things that shouldn’t be, all working together to simply exist.
That is not to say that you had never tried to understand it. On more than one occasion, you had dug her journal out from under the room twenty-four floorboards and thumbed through its delicate pages; complete with yellowed edges and smudges of dirt that accompanied most anything Wanda touched.
You had read through the internet articles, searching and searching for anything that vaguely resembled someone coming back from the dead to keep their lover to themself. Was it greed that drove her? Possessiveness? A fluke?
Despite everything, you didn’t think you’d ever be able to understand how or why Wanda was the way she was now. How she had the capability of sniffing you out like a bloodhound or how she could crawl out of her grave the moment you rode into town in that same old pickup truck she had first kissed you in all those years ago.
Wanda just was. And it did no good to question it.
You weren’t surprised when she found you; in the laundromat next door to your hotel, hands shoved into your pockets as you stood in front of a spinning dryer and let the laundromat attendant talk you up in hopes of easing the tediousness of your wait.
You also weren’t surprised when you spotted her through one of the windows against the far wall, skin pale and eyes sunken as she leered at you from outside with little regard to the way you matched her stare and silently begged her not to make a scene.
She might have obeyed if the blonde beside you hadn’t taken to flirting, pressing her hand to the dip in your waist and letting her tongue swipe across her bottom lip in a annoyingly obvious manner.
There was no remedying the situation when Wanda retreated into the shadows and disappeared under the darkness of the night around her. All you could do was hold your breath and wait for the shoe to drop.
It was a blur of flickering lights and angry red magic that followed. The young attendant by your side was collapsing onto the floor and clutching at her head by the time that the bell above the entrance door rang to announce Wanda’s presence.
When the dust finally settled and the lightbulbs had all blown-out violently from above, Wanda was on you before you had the chance to take your next breath.
Her hands, like the rest of her empty shell, were cold and rough. But she manhandled you with ease and, even in the darkness, you could feel the anger radiating off of her in quick bursts.
You should have pushed her off or, at the very least, scolded her for the extremity of her actions. You should have kicked or screamed or cried. But your judgment - what little there was left of it - had already been impaired by the way that Wanda’s ivory-colored lips molded against you.
“You think you’re cute, letting that woman touch what’s mine? Let me show you how cute you are when you’re begging for me.” Her fists curled around your hips with a bruising force as her mouth circled your clit. She sneered at the whimper that unhinged from your throat.
“Begging me to make you cum. Begging me to stop. Begging me not to leave you.”

Wanda had been tapped in on the twenty-second hour of her twenty-second birthday. No more than 10 minutes later did she find herself on your doorstep; flailing as she exclaimed about the men in masks and shoving the delicate white envelope into your face.
Even in your half-asleep-half-awake state, you could never forget the golden color of the invitation’s wax stamp and how it shimmered intimidatingly when it caught the blinding light of the full moon.
In the following months, you rarely got the chance to have a conversation in which she didn’t brag about the meetings she attended - you had to admit that your best friend was astonishingly bad with the secret aspect of the secret organization.
Your own invitation, which you received nearly a year later, was unlike Wanda’s in that it’s envelope was a rich sangria-red and it’s stamp was as dark as the sky had been when it arrived on your doorstep at half-past midnight.
It contained two fragments of information; 1970 cadaver street and room 103.
You forwent expressing any concerns about it to Wanda - or telling her that you had received a tap in at all until you attended your first meeting.
And you certainly never said anything about the instructions that led you to the, now reoccurring and abundant, private affairs with the bunny-masked woman.
You knew very little about her, beside the striking blue color of her eyes against the off-white mask and the fact that she was of the highest power as the organization’s noble leader.
But your lack of information did not stop you from fulfilling every odd and, to be quite honest, intimidating request she had for you.
Always taking the time to ask the same question; “Is this - oh god - is this okay?”
She couldn’t help but cackle at your words, eyes glowing that unusual purple color to match the thick vines that restricted your body against the dingy yellow wallpaper.
As her mouth opened to speak you could already hear the beginnings of many vague assurances - ‘of course, dear’, ‘you’re doing so good for me, dear’, ‘you’re making me so happy, dear’.
You did want to make her happy even if you didn’t know why.
“Just relax, sweetheart. I have to test your limits or this’ll all get to be too much for your pretty little head.” Her voice was eerily soothing, fingers working in and out of your cunt in time with the gasps of breath that shook your chest.
When she pressed herself closer to you, you didn’t think you had ever been more grateful for the mask to only cover half of her face as she captured your lips between her’s.
It was a short lived kiss as her eyes fluttered open and another knowing smirk began to spread across her face, “You almost look too perfect to ruin,” she breathed, bringing her free hand to your reddened cheek, “doesn’t mean I won’t try.”
You choked on the shattered moan that suddenly rose in your throat, the two fingers inside you quickly became three that curled expertly against the walls of your cunt.
“Please-” You were asking her to ruin you, to destroy you, to do whatever she wanted to you.
When a noticeable pressure grew against your clit, you could feel the gentle gusts of air that usually accompanied the use of her powers. You had become accustomed to the sensation against your thighs, always sensitive and tingling.
Your pleasured screams echoed against the hotel walls and you wondered how you’d ever tell Wanda about this, now. How you’d look her in her eyes as she gushed about how attractive the pure confidence was as it dripped from every inch of the bunny-masked woman.
You figured you never would tell her.
You knew very well the reason you hadn’t told her yet; because you had become greedy of this. Because you were scared that she would have the power to take this away from you. You didn’t want to be forced to share the pot of gold that you had found here.
You were just happy where you were; crying and trembling and content in the wake of the witch.
“Come back to me, darling, I’m not finished ruining you yet.”
