With all the asks from 👾 I've been thoroughly inspired to write something for Hyrule in the House Husband AU because it now just lives rent free in my head AKSNNXKS (these asks were the inspiration)

The chain are in my house now which is just lovely, and while it's good to see that they're still safe. it's concerning that they were so focused on finding me that they'd abandon Hyrule for their search. Did they even see if there was a way for them to go back… or do they not care?

But if how Sage's body has reacted to being in this world for so long is anything to go off of?

Then some of the chain might need some time to adap-

"Hyrule!?"

No, no, no. Please let him be alright, he's part fae, of course, he wouldn't handle the lack of magic well. But I didn't think he'd faint on the spot!

"[name]? What's going on!? What happened to the traveller?"

"I'll explain later, just.. help me get him into my bed."

Where do we even begin, Sage doesn't have it this bad and there are no documented cases of magic withdrawal to look at. Would the best thing to do right now be to get him comfortable and keep him stable?

He’s still breathing, even though it’s worryingly shallow and his skin impossibly clammy. He’ll live though.

He has to.

“[Name] please. We all just wanted to see you, we didn’t - we didn’t think anything bad would happen.”

“Wind… It’s not your fault, Rulie’s going to be fine. I’m sure of it. We’ve got to stay strong for him alright?”

Rulie’s almost in my bed to rest now, if we can just get him comfortable then we can deal with the rest of this as it comes. Maybe I should ask…

“Sage, would you mind making some soup while I get Rulie stable? He'll probably need something thin for when he wakes up. Oh come on, you don’t need to pull that face love.”

Calling him that seems to have gotten him to show a little care for the others, even if it's just to get me to call him more pet names. Although the rest of the chain didn’t seem to like me calling Sage that, there are more important things to deal with right now.

Like getting Hyrule to wake up, if he stays unconscious for too long the only option would be to call the hospital, but that isn’t even a safe option because none of the chain has any ID which would cause a few issues, to say the least.

Starting with lowering his fever is a good idea, there should be something around here I could use. There’s a flannel I can dampen in the bathroom somewhere.

“Guys can you stay here with Hyrule and make sure he doesn’t get any worse while I go and get something to cool him down.”

“You’ve still not said what’s happened to him. Do you know what’s happening?”

“I have a hunch. Nothing certain, but we really need to focus right now. I promise you I’ll explain in a moment, Sky.”

Shoving past where they've all gathered in my room wasn't the easiest thing, but the adrenaline from all of this seems to be giving me an edge over the rest of the heroes, because I know if I didn't have that it should have been near impossible to do.

Coming back with a damp towel; laying it on Hyrule; his breathing becoming more steady, making now the perfect time to explain to the chain what’s most likely happening to him. Now I’ve just got to hope that I can think of how best to explain what might be going on.

“You all want to know why Rulie’s like this? It’s a little hard to explain and I’m not even sure if it's right but I’ll try my best to explain.”

No response. They are looking at me with a lot of concern though, more than that as well but it seems their concern for one of their brothers is outweighing whatever else they want to tell me right now. Guess the best action would be to explain what I can then try to answer any questions they might have.

“You probably noticed Sage’s ears right? Something similar has been happening with him, we guessed it’s most likely due to the fact that there’s no magic in this world. Something to do with that seems to change Hylian or magical features to make them fit would be the best way to put it. Hyrule’s part fae, so the lack of magic impacted him far more as well as far faster than it did with sage.”

“... you’re saying that something like this is going to happen to all of us? That we’re going to lose our magic if we stay here?”

I don’t know if I’m simply hearing things or not but Legend sounded like he was weighing that up as an option. I know they were somewhat desperate to be with me seeing as they’ve gone through all of this to be here but to throw away part of themselves like this? Sage didn’t have a choice to be brought here.

Would he have chosen it if he had the chance? How they’re all acting, like this doesn’t seem world-ending to them, like they aren’t sacrificing everything they've ever known. I think he would have decided this in a heartbeat now.

“It seems like that. Unless you have a way back to Hyrule then I think it’s almost certain to happen.”

Rulie looks to be stirring a bit now giving me an excuse to step away from why the chain are acting so concerning; instead focusing on him as he wakes. Gently taking his hand in my own the only real thing we can do is wait for him to get up and then figure out how bad everything is. However long that may take, I’ll make sure to stay here by his side.

He doesn’t need to wake up alone with everything else he’s going through.

Sage 🤝Dolly being suppliers for Howdy lmao

since Sage is a gardener, i figured she and Howdy often trade produce and stuff, so Sage is one of Howdy's main suppliers for fresh produce. maybe also flower arrangements, though i haven't decided if he gets those directly from Sage or if maybe Julie is also involved however, to get stuff like teas or certain plant mixes or gardening stuff or anything custom, you'd have to go to Sage herself! she 100% sells some of her stuff too -w- has her own teeny shop and everything, though its not nearly as big as the Bugdega. she makes and sells really good lavender syrup :D and dandelion honey!! Poppy loves to use them

anywho!! Dolly Delight here belongs to @nonomives!! a bright lil bee miss!! Sage would love being friends with her, i bet -w- (she'd get along really well with Rosemary >:3)

Malenia is milf 😳 do you know who her partner might have been? I’ve seen some say it’s the guy at the shade castle but I always thought it was Gowry. Hes the father of her kids so that would make sense

How about neither of them? First off, it seems pretty clear that her children were produced asexually. Gowry says he found them in the swamp, making him an adoptive parent. It's clearly a parthenogenesis type situation. Millicent and the others have exactly one biological parent.

Speaking of Gowry, he appears to be an entity possessing a Kindred of Rot (which also spawned from the Aeonian bloom), so I don't think he was really anyone pre-Aeonia. I have a few theories about him, one being he's a Sellian sorcerer who converted to Rot worship to stay alive in post-bioweapons Caelid, the other being that he's a Kindred using the body/spirit of a dead Sellian sorcerer as a front for his dealings with humans. At any rate, Gowry also implies that he's never met Malenia in person. If he is a Sellian, he probably saw the bloom happen at a distance, but that's it. If he's a shrimp, he popped out of the swamp after the fact.

Maleigh Marais is the most obviously parasocial guy ever. If he and Malenia were actually partners, would he need a whole ass waifu shrine with pictures of her and a bunch of her old arms and legs nailed to the wall? If they were a couple, would he keep one of her old arms in a box and talk about how cuddling it makes him feel like "the goddess" is holding him? All of the item descriptions (mask/robe, valkyrie's prot, antspur) pertaining to Maleigh make it pretty clear that he was madly in love with Malenia, but no mention is made of the demigod reciprocating.

I really think the closest thing we have to a canonical partner for Malenia is Finlay. Sure, it's pretty headcanony, but a lot of people seem to interpret her ashes that way. And nobody else has a spelled-out romantic relationship with Malenia either. It's all up to headcanon, and considering that Gowry didn't exist in her life (or at all) pre-Aeonia and the game is clearly portraying Maleigh as a parasocial loser, I think there's far more evidence to support a Malenia and Finlay headcanon than a Malenia and any other character headcanon.

And one more thing: I know exactly which post prompted this ask, and in the same tags where I called Malenia a milf, I also alluded to her and Finlay being romantically involved, so I know you saw that. Please stop with the heteronormative anon asks. It's silly.

Love your work and househusband has me in a choke hold. But I have an idea what if when a month or two with reader and sage in reader's world with him getting used to it and knowing the ins and outs of reader's life and so getting rid of some of reader's friends who got too touchy for sages taste and when things so perfect as he doesn't have to do hylia's bidding anymore and monsters aren't attacking and people are finally understanding that reader is his and he getting almost all of reader's attention then when he gets back into the house from shopping he finds the traitors (chain) in the living room and now the chain know reader is OK and the bickering between the chain and sage happens again altho much easier since reader is gone at work at times. Like the idea reader works at an office and when tired from work goes to coddle sage.

Of course you can be 👾!! ✨✨ It's great to have you and I'm glad you like it!! And you're certainly not the only one that househusband Sage has in a chokehold ASDKMFVJFG, the idea of him being all domestic is straight-up addictive.

But for Sage to have everything so perfectly in the palm of his hand only to be reminded of everything if the chain just drop in? It would infuriate him. If there wasn't the chance that his darling could either come home at any moment or that their neighbours could call the police, the chain would be gone. But he can't risk this life that he's earned after everything that disgrace forced him to endure. That he's put so much effort into making it perfect for both of you, taking care of anyone in the way. He had it all. And now these traitors think they can just come and steal you after all of his hard work? like they deserve what belongs to him? they're no better than Hylia herself.

Below the cut is a short snippet of reader getting home to find Sage and the chain, because I just couldn't help myself ASKNDFV

It’s strange to think how easily Sage has settled into living here now. Seeing as it’s been less than three months and he seems so much happier than he ever did in Hyrule. I still worry about the chain every so often, but now things are starting to look less like we’ll ever go back to them. While it was stressful a couple of weeks ago, now it just seems like everyday life with the added bonus of having someone to go home to at the end of the day. Sage mentioned he was planning something for today, going for some ingredients in order to attempt to make something special. That alone's a huge improvement, given he usually only goes shopping with me.

Why is there - Is that arguing?

“Sage is everything alright I could hear– Guys? What? When did you get here?”

They, They’re actually here. They’re safe and alive. The shadow didn’t manage to kill them. Although Sage looks like he might. His bags strewn across the floor and his knuckles white from how tense he is. But not before Wind chirped up.

“[Name] you’re alright! We’ve been looking for you for so long!”

“You’ve been looking for me? But surely you should’ve been focusing on… you should’ve been going after the shadow.”

Time’s grimace wasn’t what I needed to see at that moment however, it answers the question enough. He barely took a step towards me before Sage had me in his arms growling at him. Warning him to stay away from me. Like he was before they went missing. The others didn’t take that lightly, not with how openly he was being possessive; with only Rulie being calm enough to try defusing the bomb that is clearly about to blow. “It’s not like we aren’t chasing the shadow, but you’re important to us [Name]. But we can all go back to Hyrule now, can’t we?”

“I mean -” “No. I - We don’t want to go back there. We’re better off here.”
