Listen!
There is something super sweet and healing and hopeful about Gale, "I was groomed and still don't realize it and had 'sex' with the Goddess of Magic via mental/spiritual/astral projection regularly. Also, I'm kind of addicted to magic." Deciding to approach you first to flirt with "You being all sweaty after battle is so fucking hot."
Because it's Real. It's physical. Yeah, it's horny, but it's the realization that the mortal realm can be equal to the godly one, if not superior, despite it being different. Like, he's not Losing something by not being with a God and he can heal.

Siege & Storm
after starting Shadow & Bone in like early april and getting hella busy and then stopping to read Paper Girls, this is how you lose the time war and She drives me crazy. I am finally starting Siege & Storm which is epic for me I cannot wait to meet genya again. I hope she is in this book a decent amount like she was Shadow & Bone. I miss her and I know what happens to her in either Siege & Storm or Ruin & Rising. I'm not ready to read that but i am excited for it

All of you need to give Viv an apology right now it was not sexualised or romanticised in episode 4 at all. Sure there were some parts that were graphic, but it's an adult animation, and a big part of Angel's character. In my opinion, it was handled so well in Poison and the parts before and after. It showed how bad of a person Val is, and Angel's problems and abuse

Guess I'll talk about episode 4... Which I absolutely loved. It was very painful and at some points hard to watch but that's the point I believe.
Now that the situation with Angel has been thrown into our faces we can't really turn a blind eye. I loved everyone in this episode but especially charlie.
Tumblr media
I wanted her to throw hands I was like yes pls. Just one really good hit, just to make Val start thinking twice. But I guess its a little too soon for that.
Surprisingly the episode did change my opinion of Vox. At first I was like oh silly TV man, thinking of his as just someone for Alastor to mess with. But after this look-
Tumblr media
I'm not liking him too much. Guess I'll have to wait and see, but Vox looking at Angel with such contempt pissed me off. If someone has another interpretation of his expression I'd love to hear it.
Love Angel and Charlie connecting in the end. You cant even be mad at Charlie because she came from a place of love. She didn't fully understand the situation she just knew Angel didn't want to be there.
They made up in the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She apologized and they made up. Angel understood and forgave Charlie which warmed my heart. They're so cute!!!
And of course we have the song between Angel and Husk which slapped.
Love them.

What an episode!!!

Astarion short comic [SA trigger warning!]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you are not stable enough, please consider on waiting to read my stuff till you are feeling better.
A drawn idea probably happening around the 2 act I think, once you decide to romance him.
I always thought that something very extreme must have happened between the player and Astarion during the nights, especially with the background knowledge of how much experience Astarion must have had. Maybe the combination of bonded tadpoles and satisfied hunger help him, but after his confession, I could imagine that something much more eye-opening could have happened between the characters. The possibilities are endless, I enjoy playing around with that!

AIMEE GIBBS in SEX EDUCATION SEASON 4 (2023)
So, these are the jeans I was wearing on that day when I was assaulted on the bus. I keep meaning to throw them away, but for some reason, I can't. Every day I feel more like myself and, like, that's great, but sometimes, it feels like even when I'm doing something I love... It feels like I'm still wearing them. Like it never goes away.

Was astarion's fate pre-tadpole the worst out of all companions? I mean... He was literally a slave in a sex-trade. His pimp being Cazadouche, who would take everyone he brought home and kill them. If he failed to do so, he would be tortured in ways that would easily kill a mortal.
He was starved and made to live in the darkness for a year for failing to bring home supper for Cazadouche once. He had to completely disassociate from his humanity, to the point where he literally can't even remember who he was before he was turned.
I often think about how he has high perception (and of course he does, cause he is a rouge) but hear me out: from a story-perspective, it would make sense that his perception was high as a trauma response. Always having to be hyper-vigilant (and keep his wits about) as to not piss off Cazador or his siblings. Even going through a far-less macabre experience for 2 years as an adult can make you hypervigilant to the point where you're dysfunctional.
And this was going on for 200 years. That isn't even a fathomable amount of time for a human. And the fact that, after all that, his humanity was intact.... He was able to fall in love, make friends, and be happy. He really has so much empathy. His empathy was a crux for 200 years, but it remained intact nonetheless.
As a survivor, Astarion has made me realize things about my healing journey that i never had thought of before. I think that's one big reason why he is a comfort character for so many of us. We can relate to him for what he's been through. We see a part of ourselves in him, and we want to help him and to hold him. We want to cherish him and tell him everything is going to be okay.
Maybe all this is for us is just a way to detach from the feelings of selfishness and shame that arise when you give yourself slack. When we see ourselves in Astarion, and we want to tell them everything is going to be okay, maybe we are really telling a part of ourselves that everything is going to be okay.

The problem with the handling of Ed's season 2 arc on ofmd is that it sets up the cycle of abuse so well. Demonstrates the way it destroys both Ed and his victims in the first two episodes so well. Shows the ways the trauma can keep destroying people and their relationships in episodes 2-4 (Lucius, Izzy, Jim, etc.). And then just...shames Lucius for trying to open up and shames him for being traumatized and makes fun of him for trying to talk about what happened to him. Makes Izzy apologize to his abuser for one comment he made what is implied to be months ago after the man he is apologizing to CUT OFF HIS TOES AND SHOT HIM IN THE LEG. Doesn't allow Jim (or for that matter, Archie) to be righteously pissed off for longer than episode 4. And then has the audacity to say that Ed making a "Youtuber apology" and using the loot that he blackmailed/threatened/forced the crew to steal in the first place to buy them party decorations somehow...makes up for everything he did?
Like, am I missing a part of this arc? Am I missing the part where he reconciled with literally ANYONE but Fang? Am I missing the part where Stede apologized to Lucius for telling him to stop talking when he was telling him about the severe trauma he went through? (Or even, as much as I love him and their relationship, Pete apologizing to Lucius for dismissing his trauma and wanting to move on before Lucius was ready because listening to Lucius' sa/abuse story was uncomfortable?) Am I missing the part where Archie and Jim found a reason to forgive Ed (and don't tell me that the Izzy-the-unicorn helped them forgive Ed- that was about the crew coming together to help IZZY to recover and had jacksquat to do with Ed)?
The set up was brilliant. Episodes 1-3 killed me. Episode 2 was my favorite episode of the show (bar the bit where Stede ran away when Lucius was unloading his trauma, and even THAT could have worked if he apologized later and allowed Lucius to talk). But the lack of payoff makes me feel sick. Because I understand this show is a comedy, but you don't introduce themes like that and give them that kind of ending.

While I know there are people who can voice their thoughts on the main plot of this episode and how it handled the SA topic, I can say that I have been Charlie once. This scene broke my heart. You're so confused because you want to help someone, and then they say they have it under control, figured out, or that there's nothing you can do. The pain you feel when the one you want to protect says you shouldn't get involved is unimaginable. The last thing you want is the victim getting hurt, but how exactly do you handle that? What if they "don't want help"? What is driving them in that situation? What if you're actually hurting them even more by doing what you feel is the right choice? You can't force someone to get help. They know it, you know it and the abuser does too. Mind you, everyone in their own way. So you just feel guilty. You share the responsibility, you carry that burden of knowing someone's going through one of the worst things imaginable. You're aware that getting involved directly is often not the solution, but helplessness is just gut-wrenching.
There are dozens of ways we can unpack it. Whether Charlie does or does not have the power/authority despite the contract being signed, how she approaches Angel's boundaries etc. We need to remember that this is Hell, so sexual exploitation and violence are not as shocking. Yet, to someone with Charlie's heart and beliefs, and to the show's audience, it's still repulsive, still something that should not be taking place. I know I certainly don't have the strength to discuss this.
I saw that many people were highly critical of this episode a week ago. Today, I saw a lot of viewers praising it for the way the issue was handled and for making them feel understood. Some moments make me uncomfortable, but I don't have any problems with watching it all again. There is some part of me that thinks it's well-made, that the voice actors did a stellar job (which I think we can admit in general), that the fact it hurts a casual viewer is the main point, it's supposed to be uncomfortable to some extent...  That's the part of me that doesn't have that experience, but should those feelings be denied?
At the end of the day, there's one thing I'm sure of - this episode should have a trigger warning

has anyone gotten the idea that odysseus' storyline in hades 2 is a depiction/exploration of trauma over his SA and how he's blaming himself for things that were out of his control? because that's the impression i'm getting from what i've seen. he talks about "goddesses" as his "greatest weakness" and that "he's not one to say no to them"...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when mel invites him to the bath, he brings up mortals having different standards for intimacy than gods and how it usually has a more romantic/sexual connotation. she then asks if he's uncomfortable and he has a startled reaction and brings up circe and calypso again (but never actually by name)
Tumblr media
(this isn't ship/romance bait btw. odysseus knew mel as a kid and they're stated in-game to have a sibling/uncle-niece relationship)
also he grew apart from penelope after his return, but the game makes a point of showing that his love for penelope and telemachus is what drove him on at all so that element of his character isn't brought into question

The Sunshine Court Spoilers
"The memory of Zane turning his back on them with an impatient, “At least keep it down. I’ve got to be on the court in two hours,” was still devastating enough to make him ill four months later."--"He thought about a door left unlocked on purpose and Zane turning his back on them as Grayson shoved Jean down on his own bed."
VS
"Neil’s voice was calm when he said, “Lock your door tonight if it will help, but Grayson will never bother you again.”"
Neil wins best partner hands down
