“House…” Wilson says truly stunned, brows furrowing like he doesn’t really believe what he’s seeing. He blinks. “What did you do to yourself?” His voice is soft but there’s a deep seated worry on the edges.

House thinks to respond sarcastically but he can’t find the energy. “Tried to fix myself” is all he can think to say. Wilson sighs sadly.

“God, in your bathtub? You could have died” Wilson scolds gently. House shrugs as best he could but he just winces. “You need to go to the hospital. I’m taking you. What were you trying to do, cut your leg off?”

House huffs a pain laced laugh but doesn’t verbally respond.

Ngl, I’m a little bummed about the synopsis for 7x4. I mean, Oliver talked about Buck getting off his hamster wheel this season, but again, we have jealous!!Buck bc he’s insecure about his place in everyone’s lives?

We did that in s2, when Eddie first showed up and he was anxious about his place on the team.

We saw it again in s3, when they taped over his name tag & Eddie and Lena got close.

Buck’s been in therapy, he’s learned his worth and has talked about doing and being better, but we’re having ANOTHER insecure Buck storyline because his friends have other friends? There better be some DAMN GOOD PAYOUT from this arc this time, otherwise, it feels very redundant to me, and not in a good way.

I really hope we do get Bi!Buck, or a feelings realization now, because at least that’s something NEW. Honestly, I just want someone to just take Buck & love him the way he deserves to be loved.

Do you guys get what I’m saying, or am I totally bananas? I honestly don’t even know anymore.

i really want people to realize that i don’t hate lip or fiona because i think people may be starting to think that. lip’s my third favorite gallagher, i don’t like his actions and i personally believe he’s a misogynist but he is also one of the best written characters on the show

#fiona’s writing isn’t as good #it’s fine but emmy’s acting makes it better #lip and debbie are probably the most well written if you ask me #like as much as ian is my favorite they make him say so many ooc things and often use him just to mock queer people #and his writing started off pretty good but it got to a point where it seemed sloppier #i think that cameron’s acting and the gallavich romance plot really helped fix the mistakes the writers made with him #carl and liam are probably the worst writing wise because carl is literally just used for comedic relief half the time #as for liam he barely spoke for 7 seasons and they never understood what to do with him #but debbie and lip are solid characters and all of their actions make perfect sense considering what they endured #and while this also applies to characters like ian and fiona- as i said their writing tends to be a little weirder #just my opinion tho and it isn’t slander of anyone but john wells #shameless #lip gallagher #fiona gallagher

 It was a sleepy February afternoon at the Swan-Jones household. Henry was upstairs working on a homework project, Emma was in the kitchen throwing soup into the Crock-Pot, and she could hear Killian in the living room, softly reading a storybook to their daughter.

 Maybe it was an overly simple life. Maybe it was a little quiet. Maybe it was a little cliché. But for Emma Swan, that sleepy February afternoon felt like paradise, like living a dream she'd once thought impossible.

 Once she'd finished preparing dinner and cleaned up the mess she made doing so, she walked into the living room, overwhelmed by the simple beauty she saw there- Captain Hook singing a gentle lullaby to their infant daughter.

 He smiled at Emma as she walked into the room.

 "Putting her down for her nap's gonna be easy today," Emma whispered.

 "Is it naptime already?" Killian asked, looking down again at their precious daughter.

 "Yeah," Emma smiled as she walked over to them, "may I?"

 "I can take her," Killian said, about to stand up, but Emma put a hand on his shoulder

 "You put her down for her nap yesterday," Emma said, "I got her."

 "Alright, love," he stole the opportunity to plant a kiss on Emma's cheek as she took their daughter from his arms.

 She blushed a little as she held Hope close to her heart.

 "I'll be right back," Emma whispered to Killian.

 "Alright, love," he smiled, reaching for a book off the coffee table.

 She carried her daughter upstairs, humming the same melody Killian had been singing half a minute ago. When they got to the nursery, Emma tucked her in under the blanket Granny had made for her- and then under another blanket overtop.

 "There you go, princess," Emma whispered, giving her little girl a kiss on the forehead, "nice and warm."

 Emma shivered a little. As annoying as the cold weather was, it brought back memories- like when she'd met Elsa, trapped in the ice wall, and Killian had held her close and kept her warm, huddled under a blanket together- it was the first time she'd really let him snuggle with her, but now- now she certainly wouldn't mind doing that again, minus the almost freezing to death part.

 As she thought of the chill in her bones, she wondered how Killian was holding up to the cold. He'd spent centuries in the warmer climate of Neverland, and always seemed not to appreciate the colder weather here in Maine.

 So, as Emma thought of Killian, probably shivering a little as he sat on the couch in their living room, she went to their room and grabbed a blanket off their bed.

 Sure enough, when she got downstairs, she saw Killian shiver a little as he turned the pages of the book with his hook. So engrossed was he in whatever he was reading that he didn't hear Emma creep down the stairs, sneak up behind him, and wrap the blanket- and her arms- around his shoulders.

 He started a little, but calmed when he saw her.

 "You looked cold," Emma said.

 "Aye," Killian smiled, "would you like to help me warm up?"

 Emma smiled back at him. "My pleasure."

 She walked around the couch and nestled next to him. He wrapped an arm around her, pulling the blanket over her shoulders as he did so.

 The coldness in her bones began to melt away at his touch, and a fire lighted in her chest.

 "How's that?" she asked him.

 He pulled her a touch closer, so that her head was now resting on his heart.

 "Couldn't be better, love." he said.

 "What're you reading?"

 His chest heaved as he chuckled a little. "Peter Pan."

 "I thought you said that was 'hogwash' and 'Neverland propaganda.'"

 "Aye," he chuckled again, "but if they're going to misrepresent me, I'd at least like to see how."

 Emma chuckled a little and rolled her eyes.

 "Would you like me to read it to you?" Killian asked.

 "I'd love that," Emma smiled.

 "Alright," he began, "Dreams do come true, if only we wish hard enough."

 Emma sighed as she nestled a little closer to him, safe in his arms on a sleepy February afternoon.

Aight...here's my thoughts on the season 6 finale. As a SEASON finale, yeah it was pretty decent. I enjoyed the bridge collapse as an emergency and I thought that the season character arc culmination was where it needed to be for most of the characters with two notable exceptions.

This is about to be long, so if you want to read my ranty thoughts, it's under the cut:

Now, if this actually ended up being the SERIES finale? It would've been Okay for everyone with the big glaring exception of Buck and Eddie.

If they really ended the show this way....dear god I would've been PISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDD.

And not just because "waah! I want buddie!" but because imho it doesn't work for the journey Buck and Eddie are on individually (or together). It felt like the writers were like okay, we may not get renewed after this so we're giving Buck and Eddie the potential for new relationships and that's that. But....these relationships don't actually feel like a "happy ending" or "potential for a happy ending" they feel very much like another stepping stone on a story for these two that is very much incomplete.

If it had ended here, I personally feel like it would've been a metaphorical death for these two characters. In the sense that they're still in the middle of learning what they need, what they want, where they actually want their lives to go. In real life, people die unexpectedly, in their middle of their life, and all of those loose ends never get tied, but in a TV show? The hope is that the writers know where they want the character arcs to go and how and that by the end of the show, they reach a satisfying conclusion to their individual arcs. The season 6 finale was not that. Fuck, the entirety of season 6 was not that. Season 6 felt like a transitionary season, almost like season 1 where the show was still getting its sea legs and figuring out a direction for the characters to go moving forward. Which is bad if this actually ended up being the very last season of the show.

In the show, Maddie, Chim, Bobby, Athena, Hen and Karen are all in much different places in their lives than Buck and Eddie. Everybody else knows who they are as characters, and all of their plotlines don't really revolve around "who am I?" but rather "how does [insert plot line here] fit into who I already am?" For Buck and Eddie, they are still very much on their "who am I?" journey. And it is far from over.

Eddie's character arc in season 6 was very much at the point where he's made it over the big emotional hurdles in his life that revolves around his trauma of losing Shannon, the PTSD of war, the emotional abuse he suffered at the hands of his parents, and the question of whether or not he's a good father for Chris. All that's left is the big "who am I?" and we started to see some of that in his storyline revolving around Chris starting to grow up and gain some independence, leaving space open in Eddie's life to start thinking about what he wants for himself. The show keeps on having external characters harping on Eddie that he needs to get a partner, and he keeps going around in circles with that ever since he started dating Ana. To me, this season did not show me that what Eddie actually needs is a perfect woman to swoop in and make him not lonely. In fact, it's shown quite the opposite. I get wanting Eddie to have something happy at the potential end of the series, but it feels weird given that the WHOLE SEASON the writing kept showing us that jumping back into dating and finding a good woman to settle down with is not actually the solution for him. I can't say whether or not this is setting up for queer realization arc, because I don't work for the show, but in terms of the actual writing itself....there's not much else that makes sense. ((This is also not to say Eddie is fully "healed" of his trauma, he's just in a better place in terms of handling it than Buck at the moment imo.))

As for Buck, the whole sperm donor storyline was a massive regression in terms of his personal journey. It was a trauma response at the very best. To me, Buck has not yet gotten to the point where Eddie is in terms of actually being able to heal his personal traumas and not let that hurt effect his current decisions. He's still very much in the thick of his pain. This sperm donor storyline is very obviously a manifestation of his guilt surrounding being a bone marrow donor baby, not being able to save his brother's life, still feeling like the only time his parents care is when he's injured or helping someone else out, and still feeling like he's the odd one out when it comes to the rest of the firefam who all have their own "individual families". To me, at this point in the series, the only part of Buck's story that has reached its natural resolution is his relationship with Bobby. Those two have worked it through and have reached a point where they can acknowledge how they feel about each other and not let their individual trauma affect their professional or personal relationship.

But good lord, Buck has not actually faced most of the other stuff. And having that baby on his couch was nothing if not a brand new trauma to add to the list. If the series ended with Buck as he is now, I would've been horrifically sad for him. Because literally nothing else of his story was resolved. I hope this is worked through in s7 and beyond.

All I have to say is hallelujah that the show didn't end there and that ABC swooped in and snatched them up. Hopefully with this new found freedom with ABC we can actually start to see these storylines come to their natural progressions instead of just pushing it off later and later until neither of them ever gets a happy ending.
