I have to take a moment to pause and post this as it hits so close to home for me personally.
Tumblr media
I am electing to "borrow" and repost something I saw posted last year as it is so poignant. I hope you take a few moments in the next few hours to reflect.
On this day, 22 years ago (9/10/2001):
🔹️246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights
🔹️2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning
🔹️343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift.
🔹️60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol
🔹️8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift
None of them saw past 10:00am on Sept 11, 2001.
In one single moment, life may never be the same.
As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight, before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.

Photos featuring the collapse of the South tower of the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.
Kevin Cosgrove, an American insurance business executive for Aon Corporation, worked on the 105th floor of the South tower. The Aon Corp. office was about 20 floors above the impact zone.
All staircases within the South tower were immediately destroyed upon impact of Flight 175, those of which who were above the impact zone were sparsely evacuated, and only a handful of people survived.
Kevin Cosgrove was not one of those people, and was a victim of the collapse of the tower while on the phone with a 911 phone operator. After the events of September 11th, Cosgrove’s call was released to the public. You can listen to the call here.

I know I'm a day late. But that doesn't make me less of an American to not remember what had happened on 9/11/2001. I remember being with my dad and baby brother. I was just 6 years old and my dad watching the Today Show per his morning routine. And all of a sudden, our local news station showed the images of first tower billowing smoke.
My dad called my grandmom asking if she was seeing what was happening. At the time, she was living in her apartment in New Jersey and could see the smoke across the Hudson River. I hardly remember all that had happened. But I remember going to our Unitarian Church that following Sunday and how our pastor explained to all the children that we were safe, we were okay, and that we pray to those who were lost or in pain.
Every year since then, my brother and I always stayed either close by or away from our dad because he was mad, sad, and in grief of what had happened to his home and so many friends and loved ones that he knew were gone. It had grown to the point where I told my dad that we stop watching documentaries or movies about 9/11 because it would bring his rage and we wanted him to be at peace.
On February 2008, we traveled from where we live now to New Jersey for a fishing convention that my dad was invited too. Staying with family and enjoying our time in the melting winter, snow, and loved ones my Uncle took us to New York City as a treat for my brother and me as we never been. Taking the train from Jersey and into NYC the very first stop that we made and got off at was at the World Trade Center. Before the Freedom Tower was constructed and when the memorial was even finished. I remember my brother and I excited to see one of the two perfect squares in the blue sky. All I could say, for a 12 year olf at the time would say.
"Wow, now that's a big hole in the sky!"
But my uncle gently pulled us away from the chain linked fence that separated the platform from the construction site and ushered us to our dad who was crying. His sister-in-law, my aunt, and our little cousin were hugging my dad who was sobbing in the middle of the place and my brother and I were soon told that we were at where the Twin Towers stood proudly until that fateful day.
From there, I will never forget the site how it was before the created the infinity pools and the memorial museum. Two huge dirt holes in the most magical city the world has ever seen. Yeah, many would say otherwise. And many have told me that its not all that cracked up to be. But it holds a special place in my heart. Not because my dad is from the Big Apple. But my family started their lives in that magical city. We have our family name on Elis Island's records. And I may be from the deep south...
I am proud to say I'm a New Yorker as well.
Please, if you have never watched the live showing. Watch this with open hearts. Forget what you think about New Yorkers. They are people, from all walks of life. And we, as a country, ran in to help our fellow neighbors.

Howard Weiss Found Hope When Taking Pictures After 9/11
Settle in for quite the read.
“I came to the realization that my home had been attacked,” says NY-based photographer Howard Weiss about the moment he understood the full impact of the 9/11 attacks. Struggling to fully comprehend the events that just took place, he realized he needed to document them for better understanding. Taking pictures of the aftermath helped Howard better absorb reality and connect with fellow…

I’m only gonna post this one thing about 9/11 cause it’s been so heavily martyred by the government as an excuse to commit atrocities, but I’ve always wondered-
What was it like for people in the Pacific time zone and Arizona, Hawaii, and Alaska? It would’ve been before 7:00 in the morning and even earlier for A+H, so did y’all just wake up to that? Did someone wake you up or call you? Did you think it was a hoax or a prank like so many people on the east coast did at first or had enough damage been done by that point that there was no denying it?

When I was a child there was a small park my family would go to from time to time. There was a play structure there in the shape of a stegosaurus. I thought it was cool as hell.
There was a picnic table nearby.
My mom ordered something at the McDonald's drive through, but I wasn't paying attention because I was in the back seat of her teal Volvo, playing with a hand-me-down action figure of a cool, vaguely shitty robot with a skull face I got from my cousin who lived on the mountain. I noticed that whatever she had ordered didn't smell like my typical nuggets and fries, or my sister's usual burger, or my mom's usual salad.
When we got to the park we sat at the table near the stegosaurus, and it was then I learned that McDonald's had breakfast food. We had sausage mcwhatevers and hashbrowns. I think that was also when I learned you could have potatoes for breakfast.
This was well before the divorce. I think it was when we lived in the relatively bougie apartments with the nice grassy slope and a full on movie theater in the leasing office. I had a birthday party in there once. We watched Phantom Menace and had cheap bootleg lightsaber toys and capes made out of plastic party tablecloths.
I'm thinking those events were around the same time. We moved to the house across the road from our church when I was 6 or 7 and the divorce happened when I was 8, so this was all 5 and earlier... When did Phantom Menace come out? 99? It was probably my 5th birthday then, because the movie came out in May and my birthday is in May and I think the projector was hooked up to a VCR and I don't think we'd have had the tape that soon after release...
Yeah the first half of my single digits were pretty hype I guess. I wonder if the world trade center going down had anything to do with why it got so fucking weird afterward. Idk, a lot happened in only a few years and I lost track of my childhood, and so did everyone else.
I don't know if it hurt at the time, or if I just didn't know how to interpret emotional pain, or if I was better at handling it when I was a literal child. I dunno. But it's been getting worse ever since and I never learned how to handle it.
9/11 is tomorrow. A lot of people died in 2001 and have died since as a direct result of weird political bullshit. And like I realize it's corny as fuck to say 'never forget' but uh the motto of my ancestors was 'ne oublie' so the phrase is oddly personal to me. There was a lot of stuff going on at the time that my child brain was not privy to, but I do sort of think that happy kid who I was died that day, for one reason or another.
You were a good kid, Grav. I will not forget.

I decided to do another "heavenly shot" of the twins in the clouds. But this time, I used a PNG of the twins with some clouds at their base that's also PNG. I thought it would be cool to do that. RIP to the innocent victims that died that day and even after that day as well.

The Importance of Biblical Prophecy (5)
Autumn forest * Photo: Erika Strackenbrock / pixelio.de Reason 4: Encouragement – The prophetic word fills the believer with certainty and confidence in difficult times In Luke 21, 25 – 28 the Lord Jesus Christ told us: ”There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror,…
