L'intuizione di Steve Rubell, socio del club con Ian Schrager, fu quella di far ballare nella stessa pista operai e star di Hollywood. Famigerata la zona balconata, antesignana delle moderne dark room, ma dove la luce era presente e illuminava uno sconsiderato uso di droghe e scene di sesso esplicito ed occasionale. Com'è andata la vostra giornata oggi? Qui ha piovuto tutto il giorno... la tipica giornata giusta per mettere su un poco di musica da camera e leggere un buon libro! Direi perfetto in occasione della Giornata Internazionale del Libro.

Lo so, troppo scontato, forse, ma Romeo e Giulietta è una delle mie letture preferite. A questo proposito, vi racconto una piccola curiosità su di me: ogni volta che viaggio, con me deve esserci sempre uno Shakespeare. Forse il libro che ha viaggiato di più con me è la raccolta de I Sonetti.

Voi cosa state leggendo adesso? Un altro libro che vi consiglio, anche se per alcuni può sembrare una lettura solo per ragazzi (ma non lo è) è Peter Pan. Magnifico! Oggi, invece, ho scelto di rileggere 16 Marzo di Achille Lauro, mentre ancora (ahimé) devo iniziare il libro di Obama... il Presidente mi perdonerà! Ma in questo fine settimana si fa un veloce ripasso su Greenlight dell'attore Matthew McConaughey che domenica sarà ospite a Che Tempo Che Fa.

Ospite da Fabio Fazio sarà anche Achille Lauro, mentre questa sera sarà insieme a Pio e Amedeo su Canale 5. Sempre oggi Lauro ha registrato una nuova puntata di Radio Italia Live che andrà in onda il prossimo 14 Maggio.

Che dite, passiamo alla parte film e serie? Pomeriggio è terminata l'agonia del nuovo Captain America, dopo una reazione epica di Chris Evans su chi l'ha sostituito, Disney Plus oggi ci ha dato l'episodio finale della serie Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Abbiamo la data del prossimo film della saga The Conjouring che arriverà, si spera nelle sale cinematografiche, il prossimo 4 Giugno, mentre il mio carissimo e amatissimo regista Ryan Murphy sui suoi social se ne esce con la prossima produzione distribuita da Netflix. Ce n'est toujours pas le coup de coeur qu'annonce la couverture mais c'est une lecture plaisante. Ce tome me fera penser au tome sur St Vincent et Evangeline dans Un diable en hiver (La Ronde de Saison), ce côté vaurien VS agnelle qui en a sous le coude.

On ne va pas se mentir, c'est surtout le personnage masculin qui attire notre attention, il est charmant, manipulateur, roublard et diablement attirant. Violet est la petite chose à l'apparence fragile mais qui finalement cache un esprit rebelle et indépendant, elle est comme sa grande soeur visiblement un bas-bleu. Même si à chacune de leur rencontre, elle n'a pas été des plus douce, il n'a pas pris la fuite et est resté concentré sur elle. Il l'a veut et il sera prêt à tout pour l'avoir...

Goofs: When Lindsay picks up Sam for the first time, the exhaust on the car indicated that the engine was cold. Even if she lived close by, after only a minute the water vapor coming out of the tail pipe is not visible. On subsequent pickups, there are no vapor clouds coming from the tailpipe, indicating the engine and exhaust system was at least moderately warm. See more »

Plot: Has been done before. This movie in the context of high school.

Themes and Tone: The move goes for a dark theme and achieves it. On this level the film made an emotional impression on me.

Acting and Characters: Strong stereotypes but the female lead and especially Halston Sage's performances make up for this.

Direction: The movie is a slow start and spends too much time establishing the main characters as a typical mean girl clique. Part of the issue is the story itself (it's repetitive).

Score and Music: I saw this movie with my daughter. I asked if she recognized any of the music in the film. She said no. Not music I would choose to listen to.

Cinematography: This is actually one of the best features of the movie. Nice smooth camera work. Interesting angles and close-ups when needed.

Production Design: Sets and backdrop are very believable and added to the overall theme of the movie.

Special Effects: Aside from one jump scare pretending to be a special effect this aspect of the film is done well.

Editing: Transitions between scenes and other editing is clean and flows.

Pace: A slow start and eventually picks up to a decent pace.

Dialogue: Well done. The film is repetitive due to it's nature. Even so each scene of dialog is needed and adds to the movie.

I was surprised that I liked this movie more than I thought I would. I went because my daughter wanted to see a movie and she chose this one.
