Had a 14th Doctor episode dream last night involving a ‘haunted’ i.e, timefucky hotel/apartment (guess reading the master and margarita is doing its job) called The Halfway House, where each time they came back to the lobby, it was further in time. Eventually the Doctor worked out how to make it go backwards, then left Donna, Shaun and co there just to see…how far back could it go?

And eventually ended up in a nice sort of monastery style courtyard, with a grey hooded figure of Death. When the Doctor asked when is this, and who are they, the figure said it was waiting for Time to create Life. Then it pointed to an inscription above the archway out, a tunnel with only space visible beyond it, with a long series of numbers scratched into the stone, starting 092356. ‘Temporal Co-ordinates?’ the Doctor asked. It clarified that by its measure this meant twenty-three minutes past nine in the morning.

The Doctor was suddenly impossibly but irrefutably aware that this was the time they were born, and with terror legged it through the archway before their eyes could read the other numbers.

Then the Doctor found themselves back in the entryway with the others. They decided to leave the Halfway House as was. The person running it seemed aware of what was going on and didn’t seem unduly worried. They only got in because of their time travel residual energy, most people would never see it, and it gave temporally displaced people a way back to their time. A hotel that gets you home.

The lady on desk asked them to sign out in the book, and the Doctor dithered over what to put, unknowing if other versions of them might have been there before, and not wanting to risk paradox in a place like this. Something only they and a future self would recognise. “Just your name is fine.” And to a some slight frowning questioning looks, signed out ‘Lulubelle’.

Oh you can absolutely write SA as traumatizing, not sexy. You have to treat it as horror rather than porn, it reads very differently. I’m a sexual abuse survivor and I actually really got into darkfic when I was younger and specifically stories that dealt with that kind of abuse as a way to work through my trauma. It was a safe controlled way to engage with it, and it was actually really cathartic and healing. I read a lot of stories written by other survivors who clearly *got it*, painful thoughtful honest depictions, and it let me untangle the psychology of SA and *why I was like this*…through characters who weren’t me. Obviously not the case everywhere, but the community I was in was really awesome about consent and awareness and not romanticizing abuse, always calling shit what it was. It was such a good thing for younger me all fucked up about herself. And a lot of the stories were just really good too.

people like you who use fiction in this way to help process things theyve experienced in a controlled environment, creating some needed emotional distance by having it be about a character and not yourself, is one of those reasons i despise puritans with all my being ngl. like the 'you can write about it but going into graphic detail romantazises it' crowd for example, is fucken baffling to me. sa itself is graphic, and i dont think there's anything wrong with a someone wanting to acknowledge that fact, or explore the taboo things everybody else is too uncomfortable talking about. honest depictions can help survivors untangle what they went through, it can help non-survivors get better at empathizing, etc

and like you also touched on a bit, yeah, you can treat it as an act of violence, and not as an act that has anything to do with sex (bc it doesnt.) which helps counter a lot of the victim blaming narratives that surround sa irl ykwim

You know what sucks?? The fact that the plot line of Stella parents being unable to stand eachother was dropped until s5, and from spoilers and what I remember, where it gets resolved in the worst way possible

The thing that really bothers me is that Winx set up AMAZING symbolism for Stella's relationship with her parents. Her powers!!

Luna, despite what s5 may claim, seems to be the more distant one, likely left for her home planet, and was likely the one that started the divorce. Stella barely uses her moon powers in s1, and her outfit is primarily orange, so this could be a visual metaphor for her non-existent relationship with her mother

Then! Later! Stella's powers are changed to exclusively be about the sun! Competely removing that connection and avenue of exploration with her mother

Stella's Sun and Moon powers could of been used as an extension of her interpersonal character stuggles and as an avenue of visual expression of this stuggle

Stella seems to be coping terribly with her parents divorce, and hasn't even really accepted it as a reality. Stella's path to accepting her parents divorce and accepting her powers as her own instead of a extension of her parents powers would be a perfect intertwined arc

This, right here, is the main reason I'm so pissed that Stella's powers were flattened to just being the fairy of the shining sun instead of the fairy of the sun and moon. They've completely removed a whole avenue of character development with symbolism pre attached!!!! Like, how do you have something that well set up, and then use chekhov's gun to shoot yourself in the dick

Taking away Stella's moon powers takes away so many options for the development of Stella's character in relation to her parents and her powers, and it makes me so annoyed

Good morning I had a dream that for some reason, Fazbear decided to give Roxy therapy. She never spoke during their sessions except to insult the therapist, but the therapist felt like they were finally making progress when shit happened and Roxy shut down all conversation. What happened? I think it was the team going and dying to the Mimic but it could have been something else it was only mentioned after a time skip.

Weirdly though, the therapist assumed she'd gone silent again because of an altercation with Freddy. So they called Freddy and Monty in (maybe Chica too) and tried to convince Freddy to stick around for a session with Roxy who isn't there at the moment. Freddy was just pissed off that he's being expected to apologise for shit he hasn't done and Monty was there trying to convince him that it's not that bad what's his problem man

EXCEPT Roxy has left. She fucked off. Left the Plex and is now wandering the outside world. The others are in a panic looking for her, and find her standing outside of a hospital. I think it was a children's one specifically but I don't remember. She'd been entertaining a lil bit but she's just kinda silently stood there with a blanket around her and a hot chocolate looking at it. For some reason when they're trying to talk to her, Chica says she knows why she came here and it's because she thinks she's better off dead, which is when my brain quickly adds a morgue to this location lmao anyway

Roxy leaves them again cause she doesn't want to talk. She explores on her own, finding Foxy, an old friend presumably from the last times she's snuck out. She cries, happy to see him and he tells her everything is gonna be okay while he hugs her, then takes her back to this tall tree building. She asks to stay with him and he's hesitant cause where he lives is some kind of... I guess a strip club? Kind of? Wasn't graphic or anything but my brain supplied that sex happens there and that's why she wouldn't want to stay. Vaguely saw poles for dancers but it's literally inside a cool tree thing so it was super out of place. Also Tails from Sonic is there with Balloon Boy. This place has the aesthetic of a rainforest cafe btw.

They go up onto the roof where some turtle looking guy that's really long acts as the spiral staircase or slide I guess for the building is talking to them. They ask if she wants to hang out and ride the stair/slide thing down to the ground floor and she cries cause she doesn't want to stay here. The turtle also gets sad cause he likes when they play on the slide that makes up it's body I guess.

The manager joins them and is talking like she's going to stay, goes to grab her tail I think and she fuckin' bails. Foxy goes with her, but a clay looking Bonnie (like from the JRs games but a bit bigger than Foxy) chases after them. Foxy isn't sure he wants to leave his friends but does in order to protect Roxy, and leads Bonnie away from her.

He leads him into a small, cluttered, basement storage place that's kind of like a cavern, with a chain link fence blocking off an underground river with giant, plush Bonnie's that are groaning as if they're alive and all look dead on the rocks. Bonnie catches him but is like. On the floor or something in an almost Family Guy deathpose way for some reason and Foxy convinces him to let go so he can leave. He runs after Roxy, feeling guilty for what he's done and what he's leaving behind and catches up to her with Balloon Boy here now I guess. Roxy cries again for some reason and then I woke up

The Plex she left also didn't look like the Plex at all btw. I switched between Roxy's POV, a third person POV while Freddy and Monty were with the therapist, back to Roxy's POV and then Foxy's when he lures Bonnie away. I don't remember all the reasons Roxy was crying, I think she was internally wanting to go home but just not saying it but then just never went home. And Freddy was comically angry for some reason???

Oh and Roxy was swapped for Blaze the Cat for a bit of the conversation with the club manager, but then was swapped back to Roxy again after. I think this was third person POV and the manager pinched her leg? And it kicked off from there? I said grabbing her tail cause he might have been but I don't remember. Aside from that one action, he was a decent sounding guy though. Then he just did that and I lost all care for him lmao

Anyway. That was fun. A wild situation!
