My prints from @doodledstars arrived!! (not including all big prints because they wouldn't fit on the table haha) In perfect condition - they were well protected even against the German way of handling mail 😅 - and pretty fast if I may notice, considering the warning about shipping to Germany xD I had to pay an extra Import fee but at least they didn't keep it in customs for a month as they tend to do at times hahaha

I am so happy to have them! They look absolutely wonderful! My mom and my partner like them too (I kept what I ordered a surprise to them hahaha), my cat already wanted to eat the packaging 🙀

Now to find a good place for all of them before they are covered in bitemarks xD

Just read a post about why putting your pronouns in your bio along with "female"/"cis"/or your AGAB is bad. I didn't want to derail so I'm gonna make my own post.

Before coming to the realization that we are not in fact purely cis, we *had* put cis in our bio as an attempt to normalize using that label (since y'know some ppl argue against using 'cis' at all, and so hoping to help combat the "are you trans or normal" type of thinking).

So I...don't always think it's meant badly, but OP made a point about it being shitty allyship to do such a thing because it's like distancing yourself from the trans community or saying "I'm not one of them though!!" & I think that's valid.

Idk I guess I think it's a little complicated & can see reasons why people would at least put "cis" or their AGAB maybe, but I do pretty much agree with OP's stance having had it pointed out now to me. I just don’t think it's always done in bad faith, is all.

My final hot take of the evening is that, in regard to The Tortured Poets Department, everyone is instantly saying “omigosh it’s going to be the most heartbreaking album yet”. I propose an alternate theory that comes on the heels of 1989. You see, torture comes in many forms, and, as You Are In Love would suggest, while love may compel you to understand why they lost their minds and fought the wars, the real torture of poets is spending their whole lives trying to put it into words. The insatiable quest to capture the essence of pure, sweet love.

Hi, I always wondered about why do so many people neglect the trauma Naruto went through while writing fanfic, like yes Sasuke dealt with his fair share of shit but so did Naruto, for authors to write him as a character that has deep understanding of how psychological issues work is very oc in my opinion, like he never learnt how to deal with his own traumatic to begin with he just "pretends to forget and moves on "type of person, and it's even weirder when they pretend that he deals with his shit in a healthier way, if anything Sasuke at least understand where his anger comes from and while deals with it badly or in a non functional way, still understand that his anger is justified, Naruto on the other hand doesn't even question how his past shaped him as an adult, like it would be so interesting to see or read a fanfic that writes Naruto and Sasuke in this light, like Naruto bieng passive about what he went through and Sasuke loosing his shit over how uncaring he is over his own pain , sorry I was rambling lol

You're bang on about this one, Anon. Naruto's trauma is mostly glossed over even in the original work. I feel like it's because Sasuke wears his trauma as his war paint, while Naruto’s is mostly internalized. Yeah it's the source of his motivations, but once Naruto reaches his goals he's pretty much like: "Okay I'm all better now!"

Obviously that's not how trauma works in real life, but since Naruto downplays/internalizes it, it's easy to overlook as an observer (out of sight, out of mind, right?). And maybe it's not as "fun" to write about, since it's mostly on the inside and not as "colorful" as Sasuke’s.

Naruto is anxious and obsessive. He has abandonment issues. He has a savior complex. He's a walking example of "setting yourself on fire to keep someone else warm." It does Naruto a disservice to ignore these parts of him, ESPECIALLY in the context of sns (since half the point is their bond was forged through shared trauma).

I think people get stuck romanticizing Naruto's role as Sasuke’s savior (and he is!), because that's largely what the original content focused on. But that's only half of the story. They both suffered, and they both saved each other. They both have lasting scars, and they both need each other in order to deal with them.

(And whether that means finding healing in each other or being an unhealthy codependent mess together, well, that depends on the writer 😉)

Could you explain why he got slasher, and what exactly that means?

I didn't even realise! I guess nobody sent an ask, and I just never made a post about it. Here's the answer a couple months late naksdnajsd.

Slasher horror refers to the specific genre of horror which includes a killer stalking and murdering a group of people! It's called slasher because typically they use bladed weapons like knives or chainsaws or something, but really as long as they're killing people it's a slasher film.

(Many people who dislike horror films have the impression that ALL horror films are slasher films. It's where a lot of common tropes come from.)

The main reason I put Mikey in this genre is because I love exploiting his inherent trust in people! Yippee!

Mikey has such an optimistic soul, and I feel that being in a situation where you could not trust anyone (including your friends, especially your friends) would be incredibly difficult for him to deal with. Add on the fact that none of his brothers are there to support him, and you have a recipe for a REAL bad time.

Mikey may not go through as much psychological brainfuckery as the others do, but going through his sort of experience would change him as a person. I can't imagine Mikey ever learning to fully trust people again, to be honest.

Also I wanted to give him a knife. There is a severe lack of stabby Mikey in the rottmnt fandom. We need to remedy this immediately.
