Day 7: Flustered

Shane has a crush on Emily, and Jas won't leave him alone about it. So, he lets out an evil monster to make her regret teasing him. But things only escalate the moment Marnie joins the tickle fight.

Another day, another fanfic! Stardew Valley is today's fandom! And I'm giving this little household some much-needed love. Dedicating this fanfiction to all my Stardew fans! Hope you enjoy!

“Alright. Bye.” Shane said before closing his flip phone. He walked up to the table and sat down, where Jas was reading a book she had found at the library earlier that day. “Hey Jas.” He said. 

Jas put the book down. “Hi Uncle Shane.” Jas replied. 

“Whatcha reading?” He asked. 

Jas showed Shane the book cover. Seeing it, Shane just hummed in response. “Cool.” He replied, not sure what else to say. 

“Who were you talking to?” Jas asked him as she picked up the book again. 

Shane hummed and looked at her. “Uhh…” He could already feel his face heating up. “...N-No one.” He replied. 

Jas flipped a page. “Was it the man on the moon?” Jas asked. 

Shane smiled slightly. She still remembered the age-old tale he told her about the man on the moon. He slowly felt nice knowing she still remembered that. “Nope. The Man on the Moon’s busy sleeping right now. He’ll be out later.” He told her. 

Jas smiled and took a drink of her apple juice. “Was it Emily?” She asked next. 

Shane’s face heated up a small bit more the moment she simply said her name. “......Nooo…” He mumbled. 

She smiled and looked at her godfather. “Oh really?” She teased. 

“R-Really. It wasn’t Emily.” He replied.

“Then who was it?” She asked. 

Shane looked down, refusing to even look at her with his beet-red face. All she was doing was asking surface-level questions…and he’s already blushing like a madman. 

“I-...Okay, fine. It was Emily. You were right.” Shane replied. 

“Have you two kissed?” She asked. 

Shane snapped his head over to look at Jas. “JAS!” Shane yelled. 

Jas widened her eyes and bit down on her straw. She froze for a moment, and stared at him. “.....So is that a yes?” She asked with a widening smile. 

Shane looked away with overwhelming embarrassment while Jas laughed at her lovestruck uncle. 

“Shane’s in love!” Jas cheered. 

“Am not!” Shane argued. 

“Ooooh! With who, sweetheart?” Marnie asked, walking into the room with a smirk. 

“With Emily!” Jas declared proudly. 

“Jaaass…” Shane mumbled and hid his face in his arms. 

“Shane wants to ask her on a date! And kiss her under the moonlight!” Jas stated abruptly. 

Marnie looked at Shane, and smiled when she saw him hiding his face in his arms. “Oh Jas…you have such a wild imagination.” She teased. 

“B-but it’s true! He likes her! He just got off the phone with her!” Jas told her. 

“Yeah. But he didn’t ask her on a date.” Marnie told her. 

“Yeah, because he’s a chicken.” Jas mentioned. 

Shane looked at her. “W-what makes you think I’m chicken?!” He asked. 

“Well, Besides his interest in owning chickens of his own, of course.” Marnie added. 

“Because he keeps stopping himself from admitting how he feels to her.” Jas told her. 

“Jassy, I think that’s enough.” He warns. 

“Let’s leave your uncle alone now. He needs to spend some time coming up with the right words.” Marnie told him. 

Jas sighed and thought for a moment. “Fine…” she muttered, going back to her book. 

Shane went onto his flip phone and stared at her contact information. He knew that Jas and Marnie were right. He needs to figure out how to tell her the truth. He needs to “come up with the right words” as Marnie put it. But…how? What are considered ‘appropriate’ words for a confession? He wanted his words to stand out. Cause any same old guy can say “I have feelings for you”, but a true guy would come up with something more memorable than that. Something heartfelt. 

“Staring at that phone number won’t change anything, Uncle Shane.” Jas teased, poking his side. 

Shane jumped at first, surprised to feel the jab to his side. But he quickly pulled himself together, put down his flip phone and picked up Jas. “That’s it.” He scurried his nimble fingers all over her belly. 

She squealed and threw her head back, laughing and giggling. “BWAHAHAHAhahahaha!” Jas yelled. 

Shane changed his voice into a goofy, silly voice to make it seem like he’s possessed by a different person. “What’s this? The smartypants can’t take what she dishes out?” Shane teased in his goofy voice. 

“IHIHI’M SOHohorryhyhy!” She reacted. 

“Oh! Now you’re APOLOGIZING! What a shocker! The tickle monster is flabbergasted!” The tickle monster reacted. “Do you know what the word flabbergasted means?” The monster asked. 

“Nohohohohoho! Ihihihi dohohon’t!” Jas replied. 

“Flabbergasted is another word to mean ‘shocked’ or ‘surprised’.” The monster told her. “Congratulations, Jas! You learned a new word today! Flabbergasted! Provided by your truly: The Tickle Monster!” He declared proudly. 

“IHI knohohow ihit’s yohohou, Uhuncle Shahahane.” Jas told him. 

The tickle monster gasped. “Who is this ‘Uncle Shane’ person you speak of?” He asked curiously in that silly voice. 

“Yohohohou!” She replied. 

“I am not ‘Uncle Shane’. I am The Tickle Monster!” He reacted. 

Jas moved herself towards her Uncle Shane’s sides. “Dohohon’t lihihie to mehehehe!” She ordered. 

He looked down. “Oho no, you’re not tickling me.” He warned, his voice going back to normal. 

“She won’t be.” Marnie said, taking Jas from his hands and putting her down. “But I just might.” She turned his chair to face her, and tickled Shane’s armpits and upper ribs while he was sitting. 

Shane threw his head and cackled, wiggling around and squeezing his arms against his sides, trapping her fingers in his armpits. “NOHO WAHAHAIT! NAHAhahaha! Ahahaunt Mahaharnie! Nohohoho!” He reacted. 

“Ohoho, Aunt Marnie, yes!” She declared. “You really thought the tickle monster was going to scare off your Aunt Marnie? No way!” She kept going. “The oldest generation of tickle monsters in this house has officially come back out.” She explained. 

“Nohohoho! leheheave mehehe alohohohone!” Shane begged. “Oh, but why would I do that, when I could just tickle you for hours and hours?” Marnie teased. 

“YOHOHOU’D BEHETTER NOHOHOT.” He warned. 

“Oh come now, Shane. You know I wouldn’t do that to you.” She told him. “However…” She turned to Jas. “But I WILL let Jas choose where I should tickle next.” She decided. 

Jas looked up at Marnie and smirked. “Okay!” She replied. 

“Okay. Where should I tickle first?” Marnie asked her. 

Jas thought for a moment and smirked. “Tickle his neck first!” She told her. 

“Ooooh! A wonderful idea, sweetheart!” she declared, before tickling his neck with her soft, loving fingers. 

Shane curled his neck in and giggled in an almost girly voice. “Hehehehe- Ohohokahay, thihihis ihihihis mohore behehehearable.” Shane admitted.

“Coochy coochy coo~!” She teased before moving to the other side of his neck. 

Shane leaned his head back, struggling to stop any of his ticklish reactions. “Hehehehey! Hohohow’s thahahat fahahahair?!” Shane asked. 

“Now wait…you thought this was going to be fair?” Marnie asked. 

Jas laughed. “Tickle his belly button!” She reacted. 

“A fine decision indeed, Jas~!” Marnie reacted before lifting up his shirt. “On 3~!” She said. 

“Ohohohoho no…” Shane mumbled nervously. 

“1…” Marnie counted. 

“2…” Jas counted next. 

Shane squeezed his eyes shut. “Ohno-ohno-OhNO-” 

“3!” Marnie and Jas yelled at the same time before utterly destroying Shane with tickles. Marnie had shoved her finger into his belly button and started swirling, while Jas had skittered her fingers all over his surrounding belly. “Tickle tickle tickle~!” the girls both teased at the same time. 

“NahAHAHAHAHAHAHA! BAHAHAHAHAHA!” Shane cackled, utterly losing his mind. His niece and aunt were so evil and mischievous together! Is this what they get up to when he’s over at the dock?! 

“Hey Uncle Shane?” Jas stopped tickling his belly. “Do you like raspberries?”

Shane's eyes immediately widened to the size of saucers. “NO!” Shane yelled. 

“Ohoho~” Marnie smiled and looked at Jas. “Have you ever learned how to do a raspberry?” Marnie asked. 

Jas shook her head. “No.” She replied. “Are they hard?” She asked. 

“Maybe the first few times…but they’re easy once you understand.” Marnie replied. She looked at Jas with a proud smirk. “Would you perhaps like to learn?” She asked. 

The moment Jas gasped and nodded her head, Shane immediately knew he was done for. This is it. His dignity is going to die a cruel death tonight…at the hands of his playful aunt and his mischievous niece.

I know I only post art here but for future reference here are some Stardew Valley headcanons:

Sebastian and Maru actually have a good relationship because their parents shortcomings aren't their shortcomings, in fact Maru looks up to Seby a lot because he's an introvert like her but managed to have a tight friend group

Leah and Haley get lost in conversations about lighting and composition. When Leah arrived in town they didn't care for each other at first but ended up bonding over their artsy interests. Haley lets Leah use her dark room to do experiments, and secretly thinks she's effortlessly very cool

Maru doesn't really hang out with the others but Abigail saw her out of her nurse attire while visiting Sebastian and started being interested in her. Maru also noticed her and contrary to popular belief she's the one who started flirting first

Elliott loves to surprise Leah with stunning vegetarian charcuterie boards, they actually plan little pic nic dates around it, she brings the wine and they spend the evening on the lake dock

Harvey and Emily kind of fuss over Shane and his wellbeing, and he pretends to hate it but he's secretly very grateful for their friendship and sometimes feels like they (and the farmer lol) are the only people who didn't give up on him. Emily in particular likes to make dark jokes about his situation and she's the only one who gets the pass from Shane for it.

Sebastian spent years pining HARD after Sam and at some point he thought he was just envious of how easily he bonded with people and was liked by everyone.

Sam is very physical, he gives the biggest hugs to everyone but he specifically loves to push Sebastian's buttons to the limit. Actually, Sam has a hidden kind of sadistic side to him when it comes to sabotaging Lewis' plans and flustering Seby.

Penny is NOT a girl's girl, but she kind of gets dragged along to plans with the gals because ohana means family and not even the Pick Me© girl gets left behind

Emily managed to make Harvey try *magic* mushrooms once. He enjoyed the experience despite having tremendous anxiety about the whole thing, he found it scientifically interesting. He wouldn't do it again tho

Alex was so sure he had the biggest crush on Haley for all his teen years but in reality he just admired her femininity and her style. Haley didn't reciprocate but liked the attention because he actually never made a move towards her, so they had this comfortable situation that fit society standards. They started having an honest friendship only after Alex's coming out

Emily is the biggest fan of the Goblin Destroyers and she offers to sew special merch for them. Sam, Seb and Abby are so grateful for her support

I believe Emily is the type of person to give EVERYONE a valentine's day card/gift. When the new farmer arrives some of the local singles are quick to join in on this tradition.

Bachelorettes

Emily- Emily gives everyone a little something of valentine's day because everyone deserves to feel special! Emily also tries to make hand make each gift so everyone has their own personal little something. When working at the saloon paying attention to what little things people mention liking. Shane says it's getting colder when he walks to work? Knitted hat and scarf with little chickens on it. Leah keeps destroying her clothes with paint finner? Hand sewn apron with lots of pockets for tools. With the new farmer Emily would crochet a little guy. Maybe the farmers favourite animal maybe a magical creature from the area with a little hand written note wishing you a happy valentine's day.

Hailey- Hailey is not like Emily. You only get a gift of her if yous are very close and she likes you. But if she does you get the cutest little hamper basket. She spends a while online getting face masks and chocolates to match her gift aesthetic for you. Maybe even some matching pajamas for you both but unless yous are already dating she's adamant it's a pal-ntines gift honestly it's not like she like she has a crush on you or anything.

Abigail- I honestly believe Abigail, Sam and Sebastian would buy each other the most ridiculous gifts they can find and Abigail would be quick to rope you into it. But maybe with you she puts a little more thought into it a little card with some pun "your my boo" or "I think you are DEAD cute" and the gift would be heart felt but funny and personal to the two of you. Sebastian is the only one who notices her blushing as she gives you the gift.

Maru- doesn't understand the point of valentine's day. Especially after reading into the origins of the holiday. Besides the holiday is so commercialised it's lost all meaning. Even if dating or married maru would only celebrate the holiday of you wanted to. They really mean well and love you dearly but they show affection through actions not gifts.

Penny- penny LOVES valentines day she tries to give everyone a little card with a lovely message. Penny and Emily go around the village together giving gifts and cards for everyone. Even her lessons that day focus on self love and appreciating friends and family. Jaz and Vincent love it. After she has self care time. Self love. Now penny is really shy and it takes a lot of encouragement to to make your valentine's day card a little more special to express her feelings. I could see penny making a flower crown from wild flowers and giving it to you.

Leah- She's friends with Elliot so of course she feels the need to really express the type of love she feels for you. Platonic, romantic, aesthetic doesn't matter she'll embrace it and create a sculpture that expresses that. After her ex she is quite reluctant to express her feelings in a direct way especially when the holiday brings up so many bad memories. But letting go of her emotions through her craft feels good and since you inspired her it makes sense to give it to you. It's like her own secret confession.

Bachelors

Sam- Sam really likes the holiday especially finding the most ridiculous cringe gifts to give his friends! He is really excited when you join in the tradition and can't wait to give his friends their funny gifts. If he likes you romantically he actually really struggles choosing a gift for you. Nothing really feels right to give to you. Abigail and Sebastian were easy but you? He ends up asking his mum for advice Jodi realises he has a crush on you (wait till Caroline finds out her little boy has a crush). Jodi suggests he writes a song so it's more personal. He does this but when the day comes he gets a little embarrassed and puts the CD through your letter box. Sadly he didn't say who it was from let's hope you recognize him through his music!

Sebastian- Sebastian really enjoys the new addition to the group. It took him a while to feel comfortable around you but now he does he loves playing D&D with you he loves sneaking off to your farm to escape his family for a smoke. He really appreciates you so when valentine's day came around he was actually really excited to get you the most embarrassing gift he could think of. You want a big blanket with funny pictures of the four of you printed on it right?

Alex- Alex always gives his grandparents nice gifts to show he appreciates and loves them this year he has a person to buy for. You. When grandma Evelyn finds out she is over the moon and feels this is the perfect moment to pass on the family cookie recipe. The first batch come out edible but questionable and kinda heart shaped. If you squint. Alot. When George finds out he gives lots of dating advice. Doesn't matter if he likes you romantically or not he's getting THE TALK from George. Lucky Alex.

Elliot- oh lord. This man. If yous are just friends you get a beautiful poem expressing his appreciation of your friendship. He turns up at your door at sunrise so you can start your day knowing he cherishes your friendship and is so thankful you chose this farm to move to. It is really touching and the fresh coffee be brings is really appreciated too. If he is in love with you he would set up a candle lit picnic on the beach at sunset. Candles lit very fancy wine (or any beverage he knows you like) with lots of food to nibble on between chatting. When the sun starts to recite the poem expressing his deep love for you. His muse. His beloved.

Harvey- after maru pushing him to confess his feelings for you and Emily chatting about the valentine's day preparations he finally decides to express it. He doesn't go out of his way to find you he just bumps into you when on his daily walk and plucking up his courage gives you the card and tells you how he feels. How he appreciates you how he values you how he feels more confident when he's around you. If yous are dating or married he will prepare a healthy little breakfast hamper and take care of some things about the farm so you can take it easy and relax.

Shane- this guy. He has never celebrated valentine's day he says it's because he believes it's just for joja mart to sell lots of heart shaped crap. He knows this isn't true he just finds it easier to hate the holiday than to feel sad he doesn't have someone special to share it with. He spends valentine's day with jaz who paints his nails gets him to make lots of cards with her. He finds himself making one for you and when jaz sees you she gives you his card. He didn't realise jaz took that card he thought it went in the bin but now you have the card you were never ment to get. After than jaz drags both of you to pick flowers and make flower crowns. Sitting together amongst the flowers Shane realises jaz has left the two of you alone which leads to you giving Shane his card and starting a conversation Shane never knew he needed to have. Just ignore jaz peaking around a tree proud of her work.

At first, he's a bit skeptical. I mean, Pelican Town of all places? Either you're a country bumpkin or a greedy money-maker like Morris. Neither are his cup of tea. He tries to keep his distance at first, but it's hard when you keep giving him gifts and talking to him every day.

He realises he likes you one night at the saloon. He caught himself thinking about how pretty you are and that's when he had his 'oh, shit' moment. He immediately goes red-faced, drawing everyone's attention. Sam is especially confused. He asks Sebastian a lot of questions until the man looks like a tomato.

Abigail catches on pretty quickly. They start teasing him about it all the time, nudging him and pointing to you whenever you're around, snickering whenever they see him staring, and so on. But they do provide some solid advice: just talk to them!

And so, Sebastian tries to talk to you. At first, he's a bit awkward. He's never been much of a talker, even to his friends, but a crush? No way. Somehow, though, he learns to cover his feelings up, leading you to think he lost interest.

He loves teaching you about frogs. He comes to your house on rainy days and offers to show you the best places for finding them. You learn about all the different types, what they eat, how they defend themselves, and so on. You might even get a pet frog for a while! But not too long, they need to go back home eventually.

"This is a green tree frog. They're pretty common around here, you've probably seen one before. They've got all sorts of animals in the zoo in Zuzu city."

You look over his shoulder while he's working one day to find he's made a little digital model of you. He's super embarrassed and tries to delete it immediately. He'll only keep it if you insist (but he makes another one anyway). He'll teach you to code, too! Only the basics, he has enough work to do on his own without teaching a new person from scratch.

You catch him staring a lot. Usually, he's too caught up in his daydreams to notice, but when he does, he'll avoid you for a while. In fact, avoiding you is his main response to being caught doing anything. You flirt with him? You won't see his face for the next week.

Before dancing, he dresses like a real dandy - everything is ironed, clean and perfect.

He just loves slow dancing, such a romantic.

If he is in the right mood, and with his lover/spouse, he will show himself as a tango master.

Even got a rose in his teeth somewhere, that's how passionate he is about the flavor of the dance.

It is sometimes rare that he will accidentally step on his partner's foot or dress, but as a dancer he is quite good.

Sebastian:

Ugh. Why?

If it were Sebastian's will, he would never have gone to the Flower dance in the first place.

He can't and won't dance, no matter what kind of dance it is.

But the system dictates otherwise, so he had to learn the simplest moves at least for this dumb festival.

Dances very simply, without enthusiasm (unless it's his crush/lover).

Shane:

Yoba, why did Marnie drag him to this stupid festival? He doesn't want to dance.

Besides, he can't dance. Like, at all.

The best he can do is a little duckling dance or a father-daughter waltz (in his case, a niece). And that's because he loves his niece.

But otherwise - no, he will not dance, and he is not a good dancer. Don't even try to ask him.

Alex:

He's ready to show himself in all his splendor.

With Haley as his partner most of the time, he knows the dance by heart.

He's also learned a couple of breakdance moves to show off his athleticism.

A pretty good dancer I would say, but he's not too fond of all those ballet and waltz type dances.

Sam:

Oh, man! Sam can pull off some pretty cool moves. Breakdance, hip-hop - what do you want to see? Uh, waltz? Sorry, he's not really good at that.

(Well, to be fair, he can do it, he just doesn't want to show it).

He whines a little bit about how he looks silly in a suit and he doesn't know how to dance much, but then quickly gets into the groove.

Hey, he's pretty good at it. But he's willing to dance like this only for his partner.

Harvey:

Surprisingly, he's pretty laid back about even the dances whose movements he doesn't know much about.

If it concerns the same waltz, of course. You shouldn't expect him to move energetically, he's not at that age anymore.

He may accidentally step on his partner's foot if the sun is shining directly in his eyes, but this is rare.

But he can learn simple movements and dance well with his partner.

Penny:

Penny loves to watch ballet and waltz, but dancing herself... it's a little tricky.

She actually don't mind to dance and has practiced the moves at home where no one can see her.

But when it comes to dancing in front of people, she gets very nervous.

In dancing with a partner there will always be a follower, but once she gets used to it, she dances very well. The practice hasn't gone to waste after all.

Leah:

She is in favor of any fun activity, so dancing is a pretty good option for her.

The girl is not particularly shy of the audience, even because her movements are not too smooth because of the unusual punch (thanks to Pam).

She doesn't really know how to dance, but that doesn't bother her.

She's having fun, and that's what counts. And if others are having fun - even better!

Haley:

Step aside! Now the dance queen will once again defend her title.

Her dance is perfect down to the last detail. Therefore, more often than not, she will pick a partner who is also a good dancer.

She dances only slow dances because too vigorous movements can make her sweat a lot, ew.

However, will not refuse to dance with friends around a campfire or something else just for fun.

Emily:

Dancing? Absolutely! It's her passion and love.

She can do all sorts of different dances very well, likes energetic dances the most.

The type of people who will drag everyone to the dance floor by the hand, and she does not care that her friends dance like a hippopotamus in a china shop.

The main thing is that everyone has fun! She's ready to rock!

Abigail:

She can't stand all that silly slow dancing, especially in heels and a dress.

But energetic and chaotic dancing with friends is welcome!

She knows youth street dancing very well, yet still somehow manages to get tangled up in her own feet during the flower dance.

Show her the bare minimum, but more complicated moves? No, thank you.

She considers herself incapable of dancing and confirms it by constantly tripping over everything possible.

A talented man is talented in everything. So he can dance well, too.

But it's about dancing with a partner, not solo dancing.

Either a delicate and romantic waltz or a passionate tango - his partner's choice.

He dances so perfectly, it's like he's been doing it all his life.

Magnus Rasmodius:

Magnus has a background in dancing, but the memories of those dances only make him sad.

Surprisingly, he is a very gentle waltz dancer. It's the best he can do, but it's beautiful and professional. However, it requires a partner, so...

He won't dance in public though, so it's easier for him to say he can't.

A hidden dancer, just like a diamond in the rough.

Victor:

Well-mannered and very romantic - you think he doesn't know how to dance? Wrong.

He will amaze everyone, and especially his partner, with how well he dances.

He also prefers light and slow movements to classical music. Most often with the object of his adoration.

But if asked, he'll teach a few moves in dancing.

Sophia:

Can't and won't dance. Don't even try to get her on the dance floor, it won't work.

She is terribly shy and may cry if someone forces her to dance in public.

Even a nice pink cake will not lure her to dance.

The most she can do is just jumping on the spot to cheerful music (and then only with her best friend Scarlett). Hardly what you'd call dancing, but still.

Olivia:

To say she can't dance is a personal insult.

Salsa, tango, bachata, rumba, or just slow dance - even now she can show a master class.

Beautiful flowing movements, energetic and passionate. For her, dancing is sacred.

Even though she is already a middle-aged woman, she has enough stamina in dancing to outlast any young dancer.

Claire:

She had waited her whole life for this moment.

Ballet is her passion, and even though she was a little nervous, she showed herself perfectly in this dance.

Beautiful, polished choreography. She has a lot to be proud of - her dancing is excellent, the envy of many famous dancers.

That's what it means to love your hobby! She is simply a wonderful dancer.

Bonus - Isaac:

He certainly didn't originate the idea of dancing.

No one really knew if he could dance, because he turned everyone down (he is still a bitch).

To someone, after all, he did not refuse an uncomplicated dance, and his movements were quite acceptable.

Not a great dancer, but he certainly won't step on his dance partner's feet.

For a beginner dances quite well (if only the movements are the simplest).

Unnecessarily long post about my pixel son's love life under the cut because the flower dance is tomorrow in my game, and I need to word vomit this out SOMEWHERE:

I like to think that Adam (y'know, the farmer) is as confused about who he's gonna get with as I am. Because goddamnit, I'm having a hell of a time choosing.

Like, plenty of people in town like HIM, which is... new, he didn't really turn many heads in the city. He HAS been doing manual labor for a year and some change, and I guess it's gotten him a little in shape? Plus, people are MUCH nicer and easier to talk to in Pelican Town, I imagine, so it's easier for him to wiggle out of his shell.

Out of the ✨️single people✨️ in town - I specify single because I kind of have it in my head that Adam has a crush on Gus - he could probably see himself either with Harvey and Emily. They both give me early 30s vibes, and Adam's 30 - which makes a lot of the singles almost too young for him, really, that's the main reason. Elliot and Shane are also in that age range to me, probably more like late 20s - but the way I see it, Shane needs a friend, and Elliot and Adam just don't have enough in common to date.

Harvey was an easy friend for him. They just kind of hit it off. They have coffee together twice a week, (not kidding, I buy two coffees and then have him give Harvey one and then drink the other) and I feel like they flirt in an almost unintentional way. The kind where it hits later and you stop like "Oh, shit? Am I stupid for missing it or delusional for reading into it like this?"

Emily fascinates Adam. She always has something interesting to say, be it about her hobbies or a mushroom she saw or her friend from the desert, he could listen to her talk about anything. And that is saying something because that girl says some out there shit sometimes. Plus, she's adorable, and kind, she's never said anything bad about anyone ever. I feel like he almost has cuteness aggression for this woman, I swear.

I feel like he's holding back on making moves with either of them for different reasons - Harvey only because he's not really sure if dude is straight or not let alone interested, Emily because she's got that whole thing with Clint liking her and Adam doesn't want to make waves. Both easy hurdles that could be settled with a good talk, honestly.

THAT BEING SAID, he has no idea who he's asking to dance tomorrow. If he even asks either of them, that is.

People think she's interested in Elliott, but they are just good friends who formed their friendship through the fact that they were both some of the newest people in town. The two of them both being creative types strengthened the friendship.

Maru has a crush on Penny. She doesn't act on it because she assumes Penny doesn't like girls. Penny also has a crush on Maru. She doesn't act on it because she doesn't realize she likes girls.

Emily and Sandy are in an open relationship. They have no issue with the other dating someone else. However, neither of them have found someone else they want to date yet. Also, Emily secretly loves sharing gossip she's learned as a bartender with Shane. It's become a guilty pleasure for the two of them.

Sam is non-binary and uses he/they pronouns. They're only out to Sebastian, Abigail, and Penny. Sam is really good friends with Penny, to the point some people think they're dating her. He tries to help her cut loose and forget about her problems and responsibilities as much as he can. Sam offered to let her be his roommate when he moves out of his parent's house, but Penny declined the offer. She wanted to say yes, but couldn't bring herself to do it.
