Notes: This book may be a little hard to read alone (it's an "old" book, so the vocabulary might not be understood entirely) for young readers, but it's still enjoyable and relatable!

Today's book is “Anne of Green Gables” an enchanting novel written by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

This novel tells tells the story of Anne Shirley, a young orphan sent to two siblings… who wanted to adopt a boy in the first place, so he could help at the farm! 🌿

But Anne is as lovely as she is imaginative, and though she is also a liiittle bit dramatic, Marilla and Matthew grow fond of her very quickly, and soon, the mistake made is forgotten!

Anne discovers a new life in Green Gables, and, moreover, and happy to finally have found (or been found by?) a family for the first time.

The book goes through Anne's life at Green Gables, following her during her first day of school to all of her adventures in the woods, with her new friend.

It really is a lovely story, filled with joy, life and innocence, and I can assure you that I laughed more than once while reading Anne's comments! 🤭

This was my first time reading L. M. Montgomery, and I have to admit that, at first, I feared that this book would not have aged well, with the main character being a little girl from the 20th century… but oh, was I wrong!

Favourite colour: All sorts of variations of the colour blue. 💙

Currently watching: I am currently doing a very distracted re-watch of early seasons of The X-Files.  (I really don’t want to be abducted by that ‘ship, too, though.) 👽

Last movie: The Apartment (1960) with Jack Lemon and Shirley MacLaine.  (Highly recommended, if you like that sort of thing!  I was watching for the first time, but it’s also beloved by Liz Vassey, if you don’t want to take my or the Academy Award-voters’ words on it!) 🎞️

Sweet/savoury/spicy: Oooh, my favourite is really the sweet/savoury combo—e.g., splitting brunch foods (something with whipped cream and maple syrup and something with hollandaise sauce), pineapple in/on savoury foods (yes, this includes pizza if it’s American-style not Italian), salted chocolate (or salted chocolate chip cookies, or salted chocolate rye cookie ice cream...), etc.  I love them both, but I think, if I had to choose one item to be the last I ever ate, it would be a big bowl of chocolate mousse with whipped cream and strawberries, so I’ll have to go with sweet. 🍫🍓

Relationship status: Single. 💁‍♀️

Current obsession: Like you have to ask.  The online expression of my GSR love may be on a semi-hiatus, but the love itself is still very, very real.  (Also I’m about to start another CSI re-watch, but I’ve been putting it off because I think I’m going to drive everyone around me insane.) 💕

Last thing I Googled: I’m trying to learn how to make a Tumblr gif-set properly (with zero Photoshop experience), so I’ve been reading Tumblr tutorials and googling various things about that. 💻

Handlebar peeps, favorite drink? Mine is wine, whiskey neat, or moonshine. Least favorite is gin (the drink. Not the delicious man). It's an abomination *shudders*

Seokjin: Likes sweet red wine. There’s a very specific cherry one he’s obsessed with and lowkey hoards.

Yoongi: Honestly doesn’t drink that much and is usually just drinking water or a soda so he can keep watch of the idiots. BUT he does enjoy an old fashioned or maybe a Manhattan.

Hoseok: He’s a whisky sour kind of man, and honestly just enjoys bourbon on the rocks by itself a lot of the time.

Namjoon: Isn’t much of a drinker but digs a good strawberry daiquiri. My man doesn’t like to taste the alcohol nope 🍓

Jimin: Jimin likes a good cocktail, let’s go with a cosmopolitan. BUT he can outdrink everyone in the bar and will take shots of Everclear for funsies.

Tae: Legit does not enjoy the taste or burn of alcohol but likes to party so he orders shit he can’t taste it in. A screwdriver would be a choice for him.

Jungkook: Vodka Redbull or Cranberry redbull. He usually sticks to vodka 🥴

MC: Loves a good Dirty Shirley , she used to drink kitty cocktails all the time lmao 🌈

(I will not lie I’m not much of a drinker and usually stick to vodka red bull myself or just a nice sweet wine lmaoooo)

🍓 clem loves old foreign movies (and old movies in general) and that's why she chose to study languages in university. her dream is to become a movie translator 🎥 it's something her family supports although they worry bc of the financial uncertainty the job brings :( so winning that prize money will really help

🍓 spends most of her childhood in her nana's farm. her favourite activity used to be helping her nana pick fruits from the trees. although she has always longed to live in big cities (and has in fact moved to one for uni and then for her job) sometimes she misses the slow and simple life back in the countryside

🍓 shir tries her best to climb the e prep's social ladder not bc of her parents' ambition but bc of her own. her goal is to get into a prestigious university so she can leave emerson and never return. and for that, she knows just having good grades is not enough; she needs to have friends in high places too

🍓 her favourite colour is purple so it shows a lot in her wardrobe choices (which are mostly sweaters and long skirts bc she gets cold easily; add chunky platform shoes as a fashion statement). she also loves to wear patterns like tartan and floral
