So I have a new question lol - for my aspecs out there, do any of you feel attraction to masculine/masculinity and feminine/femininity? For me that attraction falls under aesthetic, romantic, and alterous. Because (which is why using bi or pan still feels clunky for me) my attraction towards the people I liked...I guess I don't like putting any label that has a specific definition that doesn't allow for nuance. So I guess fluid and or queer fits best - it allows nuance and I need that space because my experiences aside from asexual do not fit well into concrete definitions.

I'm rambling and bouncing off ideas with yall who are reading.

For my high school crush who was my non hetero awakening - I liked how cute she was, how her voice sounded, liked looking at her aesthetic wise as it pleased me how her face was organized lol. And this actually wasn't the first time I felt attraction to a person who IDs as a girl; I always forget because at the time I wasn't aware it was a crush, a celebrity crush but a crush nonetheless - I was 12 so very unaware of anything lgbtq. The actress was Phoebe Tonkin from H20 Just Add Water, a mermaid show, and Tonkin in 2007 - 2011 had me locked in. I watched YouTube slide shows of her model photoshoots - looking back it was a clear crush, anything with her in it I was watching. (I have also been a lifelong mermaid fan since age 3 so that also probably helped.) It was the same thing, she was INSANELY cute, perfect cheeks, perfect smile, gorgeous doe eyes, sweet lips etc. I should have mentioned her in my original anon but I must have suppressed those feelings because I truly do forget about them. Oh and as I am writing, I just remembered loving to look at the Olivia Hussey in her version Romeo and Juliet too...and currently a few girls in my life I'm around that I've noticed. I must still be subconsciously suppressing these feelings.... But all of that is also how I felt about the boys I liked, past and present. Basically the soft look the cute boys - pretty, scraggly, alt, dorky boy - also had me sprung. In the past, Dylan O Brian, boy crushes from school...currently right now my newest celeb crush is a voice actor named Kaiji Tang and his voice is my kryptonite and he aint bad to look at either. But again, soft face, sweet smile etc. So yes I definitely have a favorite look and, yes, giggly daydreams about them have/has happened too. Thinking about it more, all those attributes fall under femininity/feminine - so now I'm thinking am I just attracted to feminine traits specifically cute - ya know? But then I do love me a beard, not just a mustache, (Tang has one) which I do see as a masculine thing so I also like masculine/masculinity but it seems like I lean more toward feminine. That route can be found in men and women.

Again, I hope I made some form of sense.

A question

This is unusual for me, but I have a question for everyone (or the few people that actually see this). I had an interaction with a man on here that made me question a few things -- and before anyone gets nervous the conversation was very cordial lol. But he was telling me that I should refrain from tagging my works as ‘Character x Reader’ and instead only use ‘Character x Female Reader’ tags. 

At first, I was on board with this completely, considering that all I write for is women readers anyways. 

But that got me thinking and doing some research of my own about all the other works under the general ‘x Reader’ tag. Everyone, or at least most from what I’ve seen, tags their works with ‘x Reader’ somewhere in it regardless if the fic involves a female reader, male reader, GN reader, or any spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community. Then, the description specifies what to expect. They also add more tags as well that include those intended audiences if they were to only look up a M!Reader fic, for example. The few times I’ve read fanfiction I always just look up the general ‘Character x Reader’ and find one that suits my preferences.

So, I guess I’m just a bit confused? Should I post under only ‘Character x female reader’ or continue like everyone else and use the general ‘Character x reader?’ In all my works I always add that it’s meant to be a F!Reader in the description and add more specific tags, anyways. 

I’d hate to offend anyone, and this blog is meant to include all peoples, but I’d like some clarification. But maybe my social anxiety is just spiking and I’m overthinking this, lmao?

Idk, but I’d really appreciate someone else’s opinion on this immensely as the interaction left me in a bit of a rut and I’m feeling quite bad about it.

The wild part to me about the "Persephone got approved Underworld citizenship" is it took what, a week at most? Even if you want to use IRL Royal examples, someone like Megan Markle would (if she had kept up the process) still need two YEARS to get approved of it at minimum which includes a lot of paperwork and staying in the country for prolonged time, but Persephone gets it in a few days with no process? 7. Go figure LO fans to make Netflix all but closing down their entire animation department and laying off hundreds of people to STILL make it all about LO. I have countless friends who lost their jobs all en-masse with no warning and a neutered severance plan (NF purposely made it be four WEEKS instead of four MONTHS), the majority of them and their productions by BIPOC and/or LGBTQ+ creators and they're only worried over well-off and employed Rachel? Fuck off. I'm so upset over this.

8. Completely and utterly disappointed at LO being nominated for an Eisner again. I think Webtoon has the power to just nominate it every year and ignore all of their other series.

Listen we all know every award is just marketing and we know damn well Webtoons just pumps the with money to nominate LO but we know damn well they're giving way more money to pump up their brand now because the Batman comic is so lazily made yet was ALSO nominated for best webcomic and they're like "one of our BIGGEST HITS big ethel energy is being printed!" despite it being one of their most hated series that is lampooned for bad art and writing. anyway they need to be taxed more.

It’s fucking wild how way back when everyone thought it was appropriate to comb over every detail in their lives trying to prove that they (“fans”) were “right” and essentially attempting to out them. But now that they are out and married and happy with their dogs and a baby… free and excited to share even a sliver of their lives… that’s when people decide it’s fun to attack them instead. The previous is no longer entertaining since they’re already out.

IDK where you stand on Taylor Swift, and complete disclosure — I’ve been a fan of hers for half my life — but she basically got built up in the 1989 era and then people decided she was annoying for being “everywhere” and entertained themselves by tearing her down.

I got zero tolerance when people do this shit. No one should get a free pass for being a “kid.” And you can tell who’s never been bullied before. Even worse now because when I was younger, at least it was in person and I got a reprieve at home. Nowadays they’re being barraged repeatedly by assholes who wouldn’t have the nerve to do it in person.

That's what's crazy to me...I mean I know they still have a bunch of fans now and maybe they just aren't as outspoken (or they're just older now because Ali & Ash have been together for like 10+ years now so that is a long time span lol) but it seems like people were way more invested in their lives when they weren't out yet?? And a lot of people defended them while also a bunch were creepily dissecting every move, but still. Things are so much different now and obviously better with them being out and happy and maybe it's because so much time has gone by but I just feel like now there's the bunch of fans who have been loyal for however long who still support them but then the other woso fans who either never got into them to begin with or just decided to pick and choose what they "heard" about them and that's why they somehow don't like them anymore and that's why they dislike them?? Your last post about the ideal stunt girlfriend! I have some thoughts on this as well. I think first of all as you said the preference is that they just do not exist that is essentially why anything and everything they do seems to be picked apart. I am not sure what it is that someone can do then if their existence is the problem. (This is only in context of the 1D fandom because I have no idea how stunt girlfriend might be treated elsewhere). The blame for the closeting is placed entirely on the shoulders of the stunt girlfriend as if she is the one forcing a closeting whereas we do not know anything going on behind the scenes. (Just want to add that there is nothing wrong with someone choosing to be closeted in order to navigate a homophobic industry and world and to protect oneself.) I know the common story told about larry is that external people are forcing things upon them or are sabotaging them and there may well have been times where they were advised strongly (or manipulated and mistreated when they were younger by those who should have tried to help them in the industry) to stay in the closet but that does not mean that they do not have any agency at all for anything especially not in the present day. Perhaps in an ideal world they may choose to disclose their sexuality and their relationship (but even if they did not they do not owe that to anyone. Anyways the problem is heteronormativity and assuming people are straight by default). I do personally believe that both Louis and Harry want to at least be recognized as part of the LBTQA community for as long as they do not state things publicly (and also show that they are together to those that recognize it. I am a larrie so that is my belief lol) and possibly do want to come out at some point (both about their individual sexualities and their relationship) but until then they do have to perform heterosexuality for many numbers of reasons. And while they do that there is a need for a stunt girlfriend whether as PR or just for the purpose of appearing straight depending on their career needs. I know people who will speak out against attacks on Olivia might still have issues with Eleanor because one is PR and one is not (this is a simplified version of the reasons and I don't want to go into comparisons or reasonings people have for anything. At the end of the day neither attacks is justified to me.)

Okay this is already quite long and I haven't yet got to the point sorry about that. I think at the end of the day the purpose of the stunt girlfriend (when there is no PR involved) is to help maintain the closet until the closet is required. It doesn't matter who the person is tbh. If it were not Eleanor it would have been someone else so people who say things about Eleanor's personality, looks, character, mistakes she may have made do not make sense to me. None of these people know her yet they have made their own head canon version of her which is always a negative version. It would be the same no matter who was in her place. I think Louis' purpose for Eleanor specifically has to do with the story he wants to tell with his music and in interviews (a story that could possibly be most similar to his actual relationship perhaps even if not entirely the same) and I do believe Eleanor specifically helps tell it (as his longest public relationship). It allows him to mention a girlfriend that has "helped him" through tough times and give anecdotes about his "girlfriend". I think Eleanor probably does other things behind the scenes like a personal assistant as well we just do not see it. But the Eleanor we do see is the image that we are shown, the image that tells the story that Louis wants told. And that story in itself is so interesting and to me just confirms things that I believe about his actual relationship. So its more intriguing to me than something to stress over or look at negatively. I don't know Eleanor but what I know is this is her job and she will do it. It is work and I don't know why it has been villainized. I understand being frustrated by the situation and feeling like Louis (and Harry) may have not been happy through stunts in the past (potentially) but that does not translate to hating the stunt girlfriend. Disliking a situation you are in does not mean you dislike everyone who is part of it. But yeah anyways the end point is I do not see any situation in which people would be happy with a stunt girlfriend.

It doesn't matter which song she posts there will always be some criticism over it. It doesn't matter if she just posts herself with dogs or doing influencing there will be a problem. It doesn't matter whether she posts about Louis or not there will be criticism in either case. Lastly it doesn't matter if she talks with Louis' sisters or not either way there will be arguments that they are not on good terms. So I am not quite sure what it is that an ideal stunt girlfriend can do for fans. I don't see any situation where people who have already decided to have a problem just based on the concept of her being a stunt girlfriend will suddenly stop. But talking about these things might help at least some people understand the bias? I just think the best approach is that she keep doing what she feels is best according to the story that she has to tell and ignore the criticism (which can be tough I know because of the immense amount of hate you can get for it). I think if I were to find and guide someone my focus would be on guiding them on how to navigate the hate and I guess general tips based on the story that needs telling. And I think when it comes to finding someone it is probably a mix of finding someone who would look like what the ideal image of a girlfriend to a popstar should look like (which has its own problems and really we need to reevaluate standards of deciding these things) and also someone who can do the other behind the scenes work too?

Idk I have done a lot of rambling (and still probably haven't got all my thoughts down lol) but it was definitely an interesting post that led to some thoughts I felt like discussing. I hope you do not mind my sending an anon with all these thoughts. You do not have to post it if you are afraid of the reaction and can instead reply in tags?

hi nonny! thank you for your long and thoughtful response :) i hope you don't mind that i'm publishing it-- i think you made some good points and i appreciate that you really tried to answer the question of who to pick and what to guide them to do. image would definitely be key, as would an internet presence of some kind. i imagine celeb pairings would mean more frequent but less involved appearances while a famous/not famous pair would be able to get away with fewer public spottings but maybe more in depth/intimate scenarios.

I'm gonna say here that I strongly dislike JK Rowling and don't agree with the things she's said about trans people (and transfem people in particular). I do my best to avoid supporting her. I also get that there are a lot of racist and otherwise harmful tropes, ideas, and biases present in the text. I'm trying to make sure to keep learning and helping my friends and family who like Harry Potter to recognize those things when I can.

(sorry if including their names doesn't sit well with you) ~🥀

Yiiiiikes omg I was at work and didn’t see at all but I did some ~research~ and jesus fucking christ lol

Shippers are definitely allowed to be upset at being called creepy (can’t believe that needs saying but this is the JSE fandom so) but honestly this is one of those things that I don’t even have the capacity to be angry about anymore. Anyone who ships the egos has heard this, and we’ve heard it eight million times. We know exactly what these people say about us, and we also know that no one else in the community cares. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it every day if I have to: the reason things like this are so asinine and hurtful are because ego shippers are without contest the nicest part of this fandom (they’re also the most talented, which is I think a bigger part of the issue than people realize lol - for some of those people, it truly is jealousy). I don’t give a single fuck if people in this fandom like me; it’s when I see people, especially LGBTQ+ people, talk about how ashamed they feel of shipping and making secret blogs to avoid backlash for it, that I get angry. Because to see the kindest, most welcoming people in the fandom feeling like they don’t belong - being told that they don’t belong - is heartbreaking.

I didn’t see the ‘should people who hate ego ships have their own tag’ part of the discourse, but all I can say is that if the concept of gay people writing stories that represent their own identities makes you so angry that you feel the need to comment on it in literally any way that isn’t ‘hey I personally don’t like ego shipping so don’t tag me in it or send it to me,’ I don’t think what you need is a tag, I think what you need is probably therapy. 

Unless what you meant is should there be a specific tag they can block, in which case the answer is absolutely: the name of whatever ship they’re uncomfortable with. It’s absolutely valid to be uncomfortable with/hate a certain ship - I’m sure plenty of shippers have a few - and if there’s more than one, you can easily block more than one ship name. If you hate the concept of any of these male characters being shipped together, it’s your responsibility to block all those tags. Some people may tag ‘ego shipping’ on fanworks they post (sometimes it’s nice to do - I track ‘ego shipping!’ Get that exposure, y’all!) but that’s in no way required. It’s not something that necessitates warning, like violence or sexual content; there’s nothing inherently objectionable or controversial about ego shipping (or any other queer content) so it doesn’t need to be tagged and it most certainly doesn’t need to be warned for. 

By the wayside, using names is fine on my blog. I’m definitely a big believer in ‘if what you’re saying is justified, you sign your name to it and don’t subpost or be passive aggressive; own it entirely, otherwise it’s just gossip and shit talk.’ I’ll always risk ‘drama’ to make my stance clear.  Every time I see a blog that has one of those weird insult things isa-ghost gives out in their description - idk if it’s an AU or like a joke but they’re like “’ugly carrot’ according to isa-ghost” or “’unwanted suitcase’ according to isa-ghost” - I desperately want to add “’petty shipper’ according to isa-ghost” to my description but I mean I think that might validate the ‘petty’ part a little too much jghjfgh. ‘Horrid’ is maybe a stronger word than I would use for s-d-s but I mean if they’ve made you feel uncomfortable you have a right to say so. I’ve never had an issue with people just saying on their own blog that they personally don’t like shipping which to the best of my knowledge is what that person mainly sticks to, even if I agree it’s pretty clear that her stance is the same as the people who are actively horrible to us, and I did take issue with something (unrelated to shipping) she said once so I don’t really interact with her. The blogs I’m always talking about that I really find disgusting are the ones that call us gross, the ones that claim we shouldn’t like it or should ‘trigger warn’ it, the ones who say we don’t belong in the community, the ones who say we should ‘have our lgbt cards taken away’ lol. That’s the thing - we literally are asking for the most basic of respect. The bar is literally underground, and these people just keep picking up shovels.

Honestly, my reaction to this happening is ‘well, what are we gonna do about it?’ Not in a defeatist way - I’m genuinely asking. What can we do to make sure all the wonderful, creative, talented, sweet ego shippers know that they’re valued members of this community, and deserve better than this kind of treatment? To anyone who may still be reading who isn’t actively a shipper but likes to consider themselves a kind & welcoming community, I’m sorry, but I need to ask you to do better. If you see someone saying something actively mean or disrespectful about ego shippers, at the very least, unfollow & stop interacting. I know that’s a big ask, even if it shouldn’t be, because these are big blogs and you want to feel included and have friends. But continuing to support them is by nature saying that it’s acceptable behavior, that it’s just a difference of opinion, and again, once it crosses that line, it’s not anymore. By all means, interact with people who don’t ship and don’t like shipping - interact with ONLY those people if you want. And of course I can’t tell you what to do when it comes to the downright mean people, I’m just asking you to consider what you’re saying when you tolerate people who insult and demean certain community members for no reason, and I’m also asking you not to further insult us by telling us you support us while making it very clear that you don’t care if we’re treated with basic respect or not.

And to the shippers, my ‘what can we do?’ is a genuine, open-ended question. If there’s anything that I personally can do to make you feel welcome in this community, please tell me what it is. I’m not a very popular blog at all, but you should always feel free to tag me in/send me any ego ship content and I’ll happily reblog it, and god knows I’m always around to talk about ships, AUs, headcanons, and that kind of thing! I’m also around to talk just in general - if you’re feeling ashamed, angry, or sad about your place in the fandom, I’ve always got open ears and heart emojis for you. hey nonnie! so when i first read your ask last week i def thought you were just looking for an update on what’s been happening with ziam/in the ziam fandom lately (admittedly i was distracted and not all there in the head while reading it cause i had a lot going on lol) but on re-reading your ask now i’m realizing i’m not actually sure if that’s what you were in fact looking for lol? and if it’s not, then i’m not sure what exactly you were asking for me to do and how to answer lol but i’m just gonna go ahead and do an update post anyway and if it’s not what you wanted just let me know but anyways onwards to the update…

performed in saudi arabia, which got some backlash cause according to idiot twitter users performing in saudi arabia now = supporting the entire country’s anti-lgbtq policies/agenda…in other words, haters gon’ hate and make fools out of themselves in the process

tweeted the phrase “enna sona” seemingly out of the blue but which quickly raised a lot of eyebrows cause it was literally hours (i think early in the morning on july 5th if i remember right?) after liam’s hugo boss campaign was officially released and not only translates to “very sweet/very beautiful” but is a reference to a song (from a bollywood movie ofc cause it’s zayn), the main lyrics of which include lines like “why did god make you into such a beautiful/sweet person”…could be ziam related, could be just zayn reaching out to his desi fans but either way the timing of it all was very 👀👀👀

Gather ‘round peeps. It’s story time. (Spoilers for changes so don’t read if you’re seeing it soon in the future)

Pre-show

So the first thing I feel like I need to say is that if you are a purist for what they call BMC 1.0, you may not like this. There were a lot of changes to lyrics and lines. It was the same show we all love, but it was different. I loved most of the changes but I can see why some people wouldn’t. 

In Will Roland’s bio, he says “actor/singer/human.” That’s not important to the show, but it was important to me that you know that. 

Also something for my fellow plus size people, the seats are not the most accommodating. Hopefully that isn’t a deterrent, but it is something you should probably know. 

They have a thing called squiptheline.com where you can preorder your merch and pick them up. I got poster, sticker pack, and lip balm (they are mountain dew and mountain dew red)

And then it begins...

They had the SQUIP do the intro and it was beautifully hysterical. 

They lit up the dot on the “i” (which was a little pill) on the curtain-thing 

The shelves behind Jeremy’s bed were full of nerd shit and it was beautiful. 

Jeremy has glasses. Nerd level even higher

Jeremy’s dad comes on with unwashed bowls of cereal, old pizza boxes, and cartoons on. Really adds to his depressed aesthetic. 

When he’s leaving, you see the mailbox full of mail.

He comes back on as the bus driver so quickly.... how?

During the dance bit, he runs into everyone and shouts “girls!” and then shouts “boys!”

Instead of “so Jenna Roland... I mean slutty” dialogue, they change it to “What are you staring at.... I’ve never even noticed him.”

Signup comes from up above. It’s awesome. 

Christine comes on to catch her Eos chapstick (as someone who uses Eos chapstick, I can tell you this is 100% accurate) and then dramatic application

After second verse, before Michael’s entrance, they have Chloe talk dodge a question about her and Jake’s breakup and then Jenna says she saw him with someone. To which Chloe responded, “tell me everything” and then exited. 

George Salazar is amazing and I love him. 

Even from the beginning, with Michael you weren’t sure on the LGBTQ+ spectrum he was, but he DEFINITELY wasn’t straight. 

(Headcannon #1 they used; Michael’s has 2 moms); when seeing the infamous “boyf” “riends,” he took out his phone to take a selfie and said “my mothers would be thrilled!”

Play thing came down from the sky again and Christine lay on the floor for a little bit so you could see her face underneath until it covered her

She did the chorus line dance!

The awkwardness of the scene before I Love Play Rehearsal. 10/10. 

The popular kids knocked Christine and Jeremy off the chairs (my poor babies!)

Slightly after Jake impressing Christine: “Why are you guys doing the play anyways” “Brooke’s doing it because of Chloe, Chloe’s doing it because of me, and Rich is doing it because he’s my boy” “and why are you doing it” “well i’m doing it because of you”

Bathroom scene even had the florescent lights come down.

Rich flushes Jeremy’s head down the urinal (poor child I wanted to hug him)

They whispered “so its like... drugs?” “it’s better than drugs Jeremy”

The projection behind the backup was TERRIFYING. They projected people all in white behind them doing the movements.

The rolled the bed on stage for 2 Player Game

Screaming “The cafetorium!” and then having the quieter music as they sit and play the game, emotionless was beautiful. 

“You’re like this bottle of Crystal Pepsi that expired in 1996″ “Is that safe for human consumption?” “Gets better with age”

They had a projection of the game in the background at the end.

They had fog in the shoebox as well as a blue light

“to activate take with mountain dew... not sure why.... and this is important, to deactivate-we’re sold out!”

And then never ended that thought...

“how do you feel?” “like...” singing to add to the dramatic moment and then... “a chump.”

“this guy is hooking me up with a case of ecto-something (i forget). It’s the ghostbusters drink they discontinued in the 90s!” “What does it taste like?” *whispered* “Ghosts!”

The SQUIP was sitting on the clothing rack for the clothing store part

Chloe broke a hanger after hearing he went with Madeline

For Do You Want a Ride, it started with Brooke began by slowly dragging the straw in and out of her soda can ;)

For the Reprise of Be More Chill, they had both the old lady in the track suit, and a lady in the scooter

her license plate said “bingo queen”

SQUIP comes back on in this weird jacket

The SQUIP fixes his vision and he doesn’t need the glasses

It’s hard to describe the song, but it’s about friends being “synched” and how everyone is hiding something underneath.

You hear Michael a couple times, but you don’t see him

Talking about Mr. Reyes “his dreams are dead. That’s why he eats so many hot pockets” (hot pockets is sing-song)

When Jeremy says he was doing performance art, Christine has her own idea for a performance art piece. You don’t hear anything about the idea until then end when she’s squatting and shouts “and then I give birth to the bowling ball!”

You don’t hear it because the SQUIP is talking to Jeremy saying she’s unusual because she doesn’t seem to care what anyone else thinks. 

During play rehearsal: “bring me patient zero!” “cough!” (she says cough). Then Brooke says her line in stressed iambic pentameter.

They had little hearts for Guy I’d Kinda Be Into

The SQUIP was all ready to point to Jeremy at the end and then was like “wtf” when she said Jake

They had bleachers for the football field for the scene before and during Upgrade

“She wants to make out with you” “Ive never made out with anyone in my life”

End of Brooke’s solo in the beginning, they changed. “So kiiiiiiiiiiiiss meeeeeeee.” *giant pause and then repeated melody* “like noooooooooooooooow” 

They added dialogue after Jake and Christine which lead to this layering thing of them all singing “I’m tired of being the person that everyone thinks that I am”

Loser Geek Whatever is so much more emotional than even when i saw it off broadway.

The SQUIP came back out in a very elaborate dress/jacket thing. It was cool

They played a jazzy version of the Pants Song during intermission

Christine dressed as a sexy princess 

They added more harmonies to Halloween

Chloe was wasted for Do You Wanna Hang

The SQUIP fell onto the bed after going into factory setting

Michael In the Bathroom... if you have a chance to see George Salazar perform this live, I highly recommend

Christine and Jeremy communicating through sounds is beautiful and just... a mood. 

There was a sparkly red bra behind them

Rich takes a pumpkin and sets the house on fire. 

For Smartphone hour, the changed the first verse of the chorus to “Rich set a fire and he burned down Jake’s house” which helps me immensely (fun fact, someone once thought I was crazy because my friend once texted me “did Rich set his own house on fire, or Jake’s house?” and they saw it and thought my friends were arsonists. I mean, I am somewhat insane, but... not for that reason)

Michael and the dad’s female characters came down from the ceiling.

Michael had shark slippers, Rich had unicorn slippers, and Jeremy’s dad was in a onesie that said “naughty”

I have said this before and I will say this again, it takes real courage to be on stage in front of a few hundred people and sing whilst in your boxers

Michael was wearing weed socks and was smoking of course

Jeremy’s dad thought he was burning incense lol

Christine: “Everyone is hurting and I don’t know how to help. So I guess I’ll just do theatre.” got such a laugh

They basically rewrote all the lyrics for Pitiful Children

Christine knows what a SQUIP is because someone in her theatre camp took one and is now in a mental hospital... coincidence?

The whole stupid "Carole and Tuesday VS Yuri On Ice" thing (I'm kind of angry and it's long but if you have like 10 minutes you're welcome to read)

Hey, so I've seen a bunch of people throwing shade lately because "Carole and Tuesday doesn't have as much popularity as Yuri On Ice did and it just shows what kinda people those fans are."

People saying that just because it's not on Netflix yet it's not an excuse and then they compare it to Violet Evergarden.

Which is like, the worst example you can give. You're talking about an anime who was hyped up since back in May 2016 and released 2 years later in January 2018 not to mention that it's made by goddamn KYOTO ANIMATION. It ain't Bones my friends, yes Bones is great but Kyoani is just up there somewhere. Did you see A Silent Voice? Did you see Hibike Euphonium?? The trailer for Violet Evergarden has almost 4 million views while the trailer for Carole and Tuesday was released 3 months ago and it has like 400k views. Until now some people didn't even know that the anime is direced by Shinichiro Watanabe, the guy who worked on COWBOY BEBOP and SAMURAI CHAMPLOO.

Also it's not about "not knowing how to use kissanime", some people just want to support the official release financially and legally. Also some other people who already have Netflix accounts got excited when they heard it was coming to the site but now they learn that they have to wait 6 more months until it's fully released. You might love the anime to death and pirating it doesn't mean that you want to disrespect the creators but you sure aren't helping them now are you? I'm not trying to shame people for pirating, hell, I think that everybody on the internet has already pirated something at least once in their life. But please don't look down on people who have the money and are willing to help studios/creators financially. If they want to wait 6 months and binge watch it let them wait 6 months and leave them alone.

Also please don't get started on that whole "fetishizing" thing. I know this is gonna piss of a lot of people but here's the "hot tea" like tumblr users would say: LGBTQ people want to get accepted into a society where about 90% of it are straight people (which is completely fair and they *should* in fact get accepted) but whenever those straight people approve of a same sex ship it's fetishizing? So wait, when a straight girl ships a wlw ship "it's fine and hey girl you might be bi 😉" but if she's shipping a mlm ship it's suddenly "eew you disgusting bitch, fricking fujoshi I bet you jack off to that stuff, huh?" That's just effed up guys.

YOI got popular only after episode 7 because of the kiss, it was so incredible to the point where most people couldn't believe it, some still thought that it was maybe only a hug because it's rare having mlm and wlw relationships in an anime without the "yuri" or "yaoi" tag. It was also because for once a mlm ship wasn't shown in a bad light like having the taller guy rape the shorter guy then ending it up with "haha, omg I actually liked it haha. Now that you forced yourself on me I like you."

Or it being borderline incest like "Wow, even though he's my not-blood-related brother I have feelings for him."

Or having a huge age gap making it a borderline p*do thing like "He's a divorced adult and I'm only a high school student!! Oh gee what shall I do!!"

YOI became popular not because it was fetishized but BECAUSE it was in fact shown to be a healthy relationship by the creators themselves in a different setting than just "school/slice of life" it was a sports anime and there was no indicator of them becoming a thing. Many thought it was like Free where the guys are gonna have "gay undertones" the whole story but never actually get together. From my experience most "YOI haters" are salty people who still remember the stupid 2016 Crunchyroll awards who didn't mean a thing.

Also keep in mind that tumblr is not the whole internet and it doesn't represent everyone and everything. Even if there are surely some who really do fetishize same sex ships I don't think that most of them are YOI and/or Carole and Tuesday fans. People who really ship wlw and mlm ships are most and for all people who accept the LGBTQ community whether they're part of it or not which is already a big step onward for many. There are still some countries out there where you can get killed or sent to prison for being homosexual so when I see people supporting this type of content I get really thrilled. Not to mention that you can't really "accurately" tell who is "fetishizing" those relationships. You might look at a few reblogs and tell yourself that "Yup, this guy/girl is definitely a creep" but the truth is that you don't know. You have no idea who the person behind this reblog is, who's that person behind the screen. Maybe they're like 15/16 and they're not sure of their sexual orientation yet? Do you need to add a lesbian/gay/bi/trans,etc flag on your profile pic for you to be part of the community? No.

I'm honestly kinda tired of this "tumblr culture" where whenever you have an opinion it has to match others' opinions so you don't get hate/death threats by either kids or adults who don't have a grasp on reality and don't tell themselves that maybe "Hey, that person might actually be depressed and she/he might really kill themselves if I send them this so even if I don't agree with them I probably shouldn't."

People starting their posts with "here's the hot take/TED talk, I've been thinking about it for a while but was scared of talking about it" then it turns out that this "hot take" is 80% of the fandom's opinion and the sheeple in the comments somehow seriously think that it's controversial and are like "OMGG SPILL THE TEA SIS YASSS💖"

Or "Thank. You.👏👏 I was actually scared of saying it so I'm glad you did."

Or even "LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK SIS!!❤"

We're talking about a site where when you *actually* have a *real* "hot take" people will try to personally murder you and browse through your entire blog during 3 days just to find a stupid thing you said like 4 years ago to write a "call out post" on you with the meme "I'm about to end this man's whole career lol" then they be like "lol you fuckin' (insert bad thing here) supporter! I bet you're (insert mental illness/something that means "sick in the head" with a clever twist on words.)"

Then when you like a certain character or ship you have to make a 5k word explanation post where you start off by saying that you do understand that your "fav" is "problematic" and then you proceed to explain why and then you have to be a victim who was either bullied or taken advantage of in order to make people feel bad for sending you death threats and guilt tripping you so that they can forgive your different tastes and just call it a "coping mechanism" or saying that it's fine if you support that character/ship because you're mentally ill. Oh, and don't forget the apology post where you explain to people that just because you said something stupid when you were 14 on your blog it doesn't mean that you still think that way and that your views changed and yada yada yada.

Like?? What the actual fuck people?

Can't we just have a good time on this site for fuck's sake? Carole and Tuesday has only 5 episode right now which is not even 25% of the story since the anime is supposed to have 24 episodes. It's not available on Netflix yet and some people like binge watching series. Give it time, surely it's gonna get recognition soon and we're here to spread it too. I decided that no matter what I'm gonna have a good time watching this amazing anime and I support both CarDay and Victuri and any other healthy wlw and mlm ship, all LGBTQ people and anyone in this world who isn't a serial killer/terrorist/anything bad (obviously)

Crushes

No need to read this. I've just had crushes on the mind lately and wanted to organize my own out in a space where I'll be able to find it without worry of my family doing so. If you want to you can though. Be a little informative of me I suppose

Ok, let's start with saying I had no crushes in elementary school. Made me feel weird, but this isn't about that, this is purely about actual crushes, not lack thereof. Also like, celebs don't count

Crush #1: Gr.6. I don't remember a lot, I just remember seeing this boy, and it felt so different from any other boy I'd seen. I obviously realized it was a crush, and honestly? I was so happy. I felt like there was something wrong with me before for not having crushes (not that there is anything wrong with not getting crushes, but to my young mind I thought I was weird. I wasn't educated enough to a) know that tons of people don't get crushes until their tweens, and b) that a lot of people just never get crushes, and there's nothing wrong with that. And I can get into a whole topic right here, but keeping this about crushes). Never talked to the kid though, and got over him by the next year.

Crush #2: Gr. 7. This was a kid in my class who I did frequently interact with. My friend and him had this sort of joke war going on, so obviously I was pulled into it, which I enjoyed. He was a fun kid, and I can remember exactly when I got the crush. I pulled his hair (this joke war did involve physical altercations. Nothing that actually bad, but still). It was soft. I had a crush on him until my next crush started, So summer after gr.8. Sadly he died in a car accident in our grade 12 year. By that point I'd barely talked to him anymore, but it still sucked, and sucks. Sometimes it feels unreal, because like, he was a genuinely happy person, that brought a lot of joy with him. I may not of had a crush anymore, or talked to him, but it was sad.

Crush #3: summer after gr.8. First wrestler crush. This one, realistic, lasted through gr.10 I want to say. It also had a couple flare ups after for like a day or two, and a couple times where I didn't care during those years. I don't know. It was weird. Realised (not got) the crush from having to sit next to him on a bus to Idaho. He's a year older than me, and I can talk with him fine now, but definitely not before. Didn't help he was always with a group of guys. He's nice though.

Crush #4: Gr.9. This one I struggled with a while. It was my first crush on a girl. I could not accept that for the longest time. I didn't care if anyone was into the same gender, but I couldn't be into the same gender, you know? We had math together, and it didn't help that we were sat beside each other for a while. I loved it, don't get me wrong, but it made it even harder for me to ignore my feelings, and instead I tried to say I just really wanted to be friends. I was super disappointed when the seating was changed, even if I was put with my friend, I'd rather sit with her. Lol. Honestly, Tumblr is what helped the most in accepting myself, and that these feelings were indeed a crush. All the positivity for the LGBTQ community made it feel ok. (Now I have other struggles, but that's different). I don't know when I got over her, I was too busy ignoring the feelings to notice when they were gone, but I did before gr.12

Crush #5: Gr.11. This one is honestly the closest I've ever gotten to dating, which is sad since we interacted a whole of three tournaments. Still, pretty sure there was flirting on both sides, and he was the first person to ever imply that I was pretty, in that context. If he wasn't a year older and graduated that year, who knows? We talked a lot after the first time though. Well, whenever we seen each other in person. I'm even worse at talking through message, so we didn't end up keeping in touch. But yeah, I just accidently started talking to him too, and we talked about such a variety of topics I can't even remember. He's probably my purest crush tbh. He was also into Green Day.

Crush #6: freshman in uni. This one I technically should put after the next one, but like, oh well. This one has less to write about. So this one is another girl. She was in my English class, and pretty fun to talk to whenever we did. Also a year older. She's a soccer player, so obviously she's great, since woman soccer players tend to be👌 lol. Not much to say though, since I still like her, just not as much as the next crush. When I'm with her though it's a whole different story. And I've definitely daydreamed about kissing her, which is not usual for me. I don't think we'll see much of each other anymore though, so the crush will probably fade, like most do.

Crush #7: freshman in uni...probably? Ok this is the one I've been gushing about lately. I'm kind of confused on when this started tbh. Like did it start at the summer camp when I first seen him and kept staring at him whenever I could because there was something about his face (he looked very vaguely like Pete Wentz.)? Was it when school started and I realized he was gonna be on my team? Honestly, probably right off the bat if I'm being honest, but I didn't want another crush, so I denied it. Even when I literally could not go up and sit with him when we were the only wrestlers at this thing and I had to wait for Stephanie to come and bring us together. Being nervous like that is normal, but being nervous but still really wanting to go over means crush. Eventually I realized when my reaction to seeing him anywhere really was just hard to ignore. Ok so this one is the only one I actually keep track of on Tumblr (he has his own tag, which really, duh, obviously I liked him). And also the only one I've completely pictured in more....erotic scenes. I don't mean to, but like, there's this one picture with a little bit of stomach showing (just a sliver) and it makes me picture some smutty shit. Also, and I feel like a fucking fool for this, but the feelings of crushing overpowered me, and (I can't fucking believe it) I wrote a fucking poem. Fuck me for that cringe. But yeah. This one will unfortunately last awhile.

There were a couple of people I could have probably counted, but they barely lasted long enough to register for me, so they just don't count. 2 guys and 1 girl.

Also, this list makes it pretty obvious that I definitely lean towards men in my bisexuality. If I do add the other 3 that'd make 70% of people I crush on male, and 30% female. Which is valid, but sometimes it makes me worry about if it's "gay" enough.
