i am so sleepy right now but i was thinking abt Luis.

And yknow. every once in a while i think about this in horknee context bc this lil skill is just wildly attractive but also i think about how, when Luis spins that lighter so effortlessly, he never once drops it. and the movement is fluid, skilled and he just does it without second thought. Like its long practiced and its been a part of his life for a while. And its something i feel like he started learning to try and look cool.

But he couldnt even flick it open or so much as hold onto it during his final moments. How awful and pathetic must one feel in their final moments as they feel these small things slip away. Something that was once second nature and easy, done like a sort of unconscious stim, becomes impossible as you feel yourself slip away. The lighter tricks wouldve been a skill he'd have put time in to learn, and as small as it is it just shows how rapidly he declined and i cant imagine how deeply devastating that would feel as all that time slips away into something that never mattered as your efforts to be somebody, be who you wanted to be, also slip away. Also goes to show how much he really mustered EVERYTHING he had to save Leon with that gunshot. And

OK OK I HAD AN IDEA. So y’all know how in the Hands of Time concept art of the forge there are two small pictures of baby Kai and Nya. We know from the flashback in Pause and Effect that Ray and Maya were forced to leave with only what they had on them (assuming). This means they had the pictures ON THEM. So, what if that’s like a thing the previous Elemental Masters did? Keep photos of their loved ones in case they were separated. I feel like it’s a nice sentiment (with angst opportunities hehe). Now what if the current ninja do this? Like each one of them has a couple of photos of their loved ones they just carry with them at all times. I may just be rambling BUT ARGH BRAIN THINK

Something I find interesting is how all of Bdubs’ final deaths so far were as a result of him being forgotten about, set to the side or discarded, usually by his own teammates. This leads to him making passive aggressive comments like “Don’t mind ol Bdubs” “Nobody ask me what I think!” “Yeah, and I’m here too!”. His character fears being left behind and tries to prove his worth by over committing and being loyal to a fault, which is ultimately his downfall.

The difference is this season, he’s got a teammate that’s 100% behind him. Pearl has no desire to win herself, she’s dedicating all her time to make sure Bdubs gets as far as he can. Bdubs isn’t completely trusting of this yet due to all the times it’s backfired in the past but Pearl isn’t going to stop trying and that just might work for him. Let’s see how this ages, but I’m rooting for a Bdubs win!!

I think one thing that's always struck me as weird is how in fashion doll lines, there's always at least 1 character who's stated interest is fashion itself, which ya know, makes sense, logical, it's a fashion doll brand.

But then the rest of the dolls aren't as interested in fashion, and yet they all get presented as being equally fashionable and glamorous, and it's like "hey okay so they're ALL into fashion, what REALLY makes fashion-interested doll character stand out from the rest"

Hold on a damn minute this dude's whole argument was:

Race is phenotypal and based on ethnic features, not based on DNA

I'm gonna ramble here, and this could get controversial or lead to misunderstanding so I'm begging you hear me out.

They had a reasonable take. Racism is often based upon ethnic traits. Now. Phenotypal features are not entirely dependent on what race you are, what socially qualifies as phenotypal ethnic features is also influenced by stereotypes for what groups of people should and shouldn't look like based on biases. And racists especially will emphasize this to discriminate against people with certain features, regardless of what race they are. There is no scientific set in stone way for certain races to look; thats how human diversity works.

But they were essentially saying, unless you look this race you cannot be this race. Racism doesn't count unless you have so and so features alligned with this race.

This person wanted to argue the discrimination and awful takes on Luis (such as those calling him "dirty", reducing him to a sex hound, specifically commenting against his skin color, nose, and eyes) are not racist. According to them he is caucasian, white. However Luis does not look white, at all, especially compared to his original design. And I'm speaking very carefully here. But even if he were to be white, entirely following their argument here that racism is based solely upon physical ethnic traits, then the racism against his character is STILL racism. Thats being discriminated against, based upon what someone percieves your race to be because of your features. (And race is all social contruct and based upon social perception).

But they also wanted to argue Luis has no ethnic features, which is blatantly incorrect for reasons I hope are clear. Putting him aside.

Let me entertain what they were trying to say there in their attempts to negate him being mixed (specifically). See they wanted to constantly bring Sheva, Carlos and specifically Ada into the argument. And here's the thing:

Following their logic that race is dependent on phenotypal traits and one cannot be so and so race and be discriminated against racially without phenotypal ethnic features. Ada in original iterations does not have the features that would stereotypically allign with Chinese women, one could chalk this up to the graphics, and to that I call attention specifically to her design in RE6. Where her features are more akin to that of a caucasian woman. Does this mean she isn't asian? Of course not. Does this invalidate the racism against her prior to the remakes? No it doesn't, not at fucking all. Especially in a fandom that wants so bad to whitewash her or fetishize her for being asian. The features she had in those games does not change her being chinese.

If Luis is white because he has "no ethnic features" does this also make RE6 Ada white? And therefor the racism against her character design in RE6 is invalid and nullified?

N O, the answer is no.

why do so many content creators believe that death is something to be defeated?

it fruits my loops completely. i also make art for a living: i’m a poet, a writer, and game maker, but i’ve never worried about legacy, or wanted to live forever. even when my disability led me down a dangerous set of choices, death was never the worst one. i’m also not from a faith tradition with a heaven or an immortal soul, so immortality of any kind was never on the table and highkey squicks me out.

knowing all things end is really really comforting. how scared do you have to be of impermance? how arrogant to opt out of the thing that makes us human/living - in that one day, we die?

Revolutionary Girl Mizuki

Once upon a time, many years ago, there was a little princess, and she was very sad, for her mother and father had died. Before the princess appeared a traveling prince, riding upon a white horse. He had a regal bearing and a kind smile. The prince wrapped the princess in a rose-scented embrace and gently wiped the tears from her eyes.

“Little one,” he said, “who bears up alone in such deep sorrow, never lose that strength or nobility, even when you grow up. I give you this to remember this day. We will meet again. This ring will lead you to me one day.” Perhaps the ring the prince gave her was an engagement ring. This was all well and good, but so impressed was she by him that the princess vowed to become a prince herself one day. But was that really such a good idea?”

Mizuki wasn't sure how she had even gotten herself mixed up in this peculiar duelling situation.

At first she was chalking it up to a bunch of weird theatre kids but there was a castle in the sky and she had just hiked up an ungodly amount of stairs.

"We're duelling over him?" she asked, her brow furrowed. The man in question was Aymeric, a rather handsome man with crystal blue eyes. "why? this all seems..." she was cut off by the boorish man Grinnaux who sneered at her.

"You've made yourself known as dualist. So we shall duel over the power of revolution."

Mizuki opened her mouth to speak but was interrupted again by Aymeric placing a rose upon her chest "Good luck." he smiled kindly only to be struck by Grinnaux in the stomach. Aymeric grimaced but stood by the edge of the ring, it was strange Aymeric being a little taller than him he could easily have fought back.

Mizuki frowned and readied her sword. Grinnaux  was oddly unarmed until a flash of light engulfed the area "where did that sword come from?"

Grinnaux  gave her no answer and lunged at her.

It was over rather quickly. Grinnaux' rose was ripped from his bosom and he did not take losing well. Aymeric bid his farewell to Grinnaux and introduced himself proper to Mizuki.

"Well my fair knight I am in your care." he said with a bow.

"I think I've missed something-" Mizuki tried to pry answers out of Aymeric but he simply smiled and said it would be explained in due time. "why not now?"

And in that moment Mizuki found herself in the realms of knights, magic and some strange engagement.

Sooo I've started to watch Utena again.. and I couldn't not make a glam, red made was perfect for it and this is the closest I could get.

Obviously Mizuki is the knight. Aymeric the rose bride..groom? sounds weird

I couldn't think who to use in place of the student council...heavens ward it is.

I took lots of fancy shots. I will use at some point.
