pt.1

ラオスの計画を立てていた時にふと見ていたサイトの端の方に丁度自分が行く予定のルアンパバーン(ラオス)について村上春樹が本を出していたので速攻でAmazonで買った。ルアンパバーンについてはその本の一部しか書かれてなかったが、他の章で旅行記を書くと面白い(特に一人旅)というようなことが書かれていたので書くことにした。本当は紙とペンで書きたかったがあいにく持ち合わせていなかったのでとりあえずメモに残す。

3/3金曜日

また羽田空港に到着。ついこの前見た景色。行く前や計画しているときはワクワクして楽しみではあったけど、いざ行くとなると不安や寂しさが募る。また恋人と1週間弱会えないと思うとなかなか辛い。Wi-FiもSIMカードも持たず、なんとなく頭に入ってる地図と適当な荷物で行く旅。コスタリカの時差ぼけがあったせいか、羽田〜バンコクの飛行機約7時間はずっと寝ていた。

3/4土曜日

早朝5時。バンコク・スワンナプーム国際空港に到着。着いたら部活動のことに関するラインが色々来ておりテンションダダ下がり。色々考えなければならなくなった。特に何も考えずにボーッとするために来たのに。とりあえずホテルに荷物を置きに空港直結型の地下鉄道に乗る。最寄駅から足場の悪い道を徒歩5分ほど歩くとホテルに着いた。荷物を置かせてもらい、近くの公園を散策。朝市場をやっているとの情報で行ってみたのだが、実際にはランニングをしたり、トレーニングをしたり、太極拳をしたりとのどかな雰囲気だった。結局朝市場はやってなかった。まあいいや。そのまま近くの駅から電車に乗り、水上マーケットとやらが毎週土日に開催されているというので向かうことにした。電車を降りて30分ほど歩いても何もない。川はあるけど人も少ないし、活気がない。どうやらやってない模様。同じ川なのでやっているだろうと言う気持ちで、一本違う道から水上マーケットに向かったのだが、行ったが何もなかった。川沿いをさらに15〜20分ほど歩けばあるのかもしれないが、かなり暑かったのと、やっている確証もないし賑わっていなかったので諦めた。おそらくだがコロナ禍でタイの観光地やその他繁華街などはガラリと変わってしまったのかもしれない。気を取り直して30分来た道を歩いて電車に乗り、今度はモールが集う街の中心部へ行くことにしたのだが、そこで電車を乗り換えた際に結構な人がいてびっくりした。特に若者が多い。今日は土曜日だからかみんな街へ出るのだろう。白人の外国人観光客もちらほら見えた。いざモールへ入ってみると冷房が効きすぎて風邪を引くレベル。海外あるある。GUCCI、LOUIS VUITTON、CHANELなどの高級ブランド店が立ち並ぶ。ここでやっとWi-Fiが繋がった。無数のフリーWi-Fiの中で一つだけ有効なものがあった。DIORでもなくCELINEでもなくVan Cleef だった。LINEで部活を続けるかどうかの相談をしていたら、彼女から素晴らしい意見をいただいた。やっぱりすごい。偉大である。本当に尊敬できる人物だ。自慢の彼女である。さてこのモール、デカすぎるしブランド品には特に用がなかったので、隣の普通モールに移動した。そこでガパオを食べた。ガパオはかなり美味かったのだが、その他の副菜、スープやらが全部パクチー臭いのだ。やられた(パクチーはあんまり得意ではない。あの風味が嫌)。ここもとにかく寒い。午前中に汗をかきまくったから体が冷えて風邪をひきそうで困る。しかし外はクソ暑い。ホテルのチェックインが14時だから適当に時間を潰す。モールに来ている人を観察すると、だいたい若い女の子同士もしくはカップルが多い。暑いからか露出が多い服を着ている。同じアジアだからか、割とファッションは日本に似ているのかもしれない(特に女性)。それと意外にもタトゥーを入れている人が多いのには少し驚きだった。比較的お尻がでかい人が多かったコスタリカに比べると、タイは割と細い人が多い。アジア人は比較的細めなのだろうか。アジア人あるあるとしてマスク美人が多い気がする。パッチリとした目だけどマスクを取ったら、おっと誰かが来たようだ。(タイ🇹🇭、コスタリカ🇨🇷似てる)異国の地でも比較的適応しやすいのか、まだバンコクについてから6〜7時間程度だが、すっかりタイに慣れてしまった。もう電車も乗りこなしたし、バンコク市内の地図は計画を立てる時に見まくったので頭に入っている。自分がよく見ている筋トレとかをメインでやってる登録者数8万人くらいのとあるYouTuberがいるのだが、彼はたしか去年あたりからタイに住んでいるのだ。同じようなYouTuberも今タイに住んでいて、好きな芸人も現在タイ住みます芸人として活動し、タイで大ブレイクしている。なんとなくだけど確かにアジアで親近感もあって、人も優しいし住みやすいのかもしれない。あとどうでもいいけど、エスカレーターの速度が異様に早い。せっかちなのだろうか。時間になったのでホテルに行きチェックイン。一泊¥3800くらいだったので、まあこんなものかと。とりあえず軽くシャワーを浴びようとしたのだが水圧が弱い、お湯が出ない。眠くて疲れてたから仕方なく冷たい水で体を軽く流した(実際には水量が少なくて流せてない可能性が高い)。この部屋、鍵と電気が一致してるタイプのやつ。つまり冷房も同じように動く。なので鍵を抜いたら部屋は暗くなるが冷房はストップ。鍵をつけたままだと部屋は明るいが冷房は効いている。冷房>部屋の明るいの気分だったので鍵は差しっぱなしに。部屋着に着替えてタイマーを17時頃にセット。その時は起きて夜活動しようとしていた。がしかし、起きたら目が乾燥してコンタクトを取りたくなって、なおかつ全然まだ眠い。最終的にチェックアウトに間に合えば良いのでタイマーを朝の4時頃に設定。爆睡。1時頃目が覚める。そこから1時間ほどスマホをいじって明日のことを調べて2時頃また就寝。
