Love, hope, compassion... This is what people say monster SOULs are made of. But the absolute nature of “SOUL” is unknown. After all, humans have proven their SOULs don’t need these things to exist.

I like the idea of Martlet staying with Toriel and help her protect Frisk, Not gonna lie, it would be really funny if Ceroba, Starlo and his gang also stay in the ruins to help Toriel watch out for humans, while Dalv is just living in Snowdin :3
the rest of the gang have their own place in this au :))) we'll see them wayyyy later, but it wont hurt to show yall what theyve been up to since uty!
Tumblr media
dalv's still chilling in snowdin, though he visits starlo and the gang every once in a while for bar night and performs there! his new children books have been getting popular at snowdin's librarby :))
starlo and the feisty five are still up to their shenanigans in the wild east, putting up shows and bringing in plenty of tourists. they help out the farm when they have the time. ceroba's also working at the farm nowadays. the mansion feels way too big for just one monster so she moved into the farmhouse
they have a mail system to keep in touch ever since martlet ended up in the ruins :D usually dalv and sans meet once a week and they exchange letters. martlet likes hearing about whatever's going on outside the ruins and the others are just glad to know she's doing alright ever since uhhh....... the incident
also shitty bonus pic lol

One Night UnderGround! (Fnaf x Undertale)
"This just in: Fazbear Entertainment, after losing ALL animatronics five years ago due to their "Pizza Plex" getting consumed by a sinkhole, is unaware of a small child exploring the exterior ruins! Wait, hold on folks... are they... THEY...?! Ooooh! looks like they just fell! Did they trip or fall? Will they live? How will they react seeing the animatronics have "Evolved" from the past few years? Stay tuned to find out!" For the first Au from my Deviantart I'm porting over, I picked my Fnaf x Undertale Au concept. I tried to keep the Darkners as non-cannon Spin-off characters, but Rouxls Kaard and Sweet Cap'n Cakes were hard to find roles for like this, so I just picked what I felt fit. Mike is the Chapter 3 secret boss and he's based on Michael Afton post getting scooped in reference to Woody Theory. (Flowey is the 'Friend inside him') Ruins = The Gift Shop! (A safe place to rest!) Snowdin = The Kitchen! (Toy Chica; The world's Greatest Chef!) Sans Lab = A security office turned lab. (He can never go home.) Waterfall = Roxy Raceway! (The hunt is ON!) Hotland = The Fazcade! (Turned into a Fazino by Handatton.) Judgment Hall = Rockstar Row. (Face the music.) New Home = Main Stage area. (Divorce is not real.) Music Man is always facing the camera, even if his body isn't... Also, his room is littered with 80's trash and songs he composed. Fnaf 1 Mr. Cupcake is the Annoying Dog because it seemed cute, and Fnaf 2 Mr. Cupcake is Temmie mostly so they match. Deltarune Chapters: Chapter 1: The School = Backstage. Chapter 2 The Librarby= The Security Room. Chapter 3 is Mike's house. If you play the chapter normally, he's just a recurring, yet strange goon and will even join your town. If you find the remote, you can turn Mike off and let his "friend" out. Criticism and suggestions for unfilled roles are welcome!

8/DEC/20XX
a deep breath, and i feel a sense of nostalgia.
weird nostalgia. wouldn't go back, but i still think fondly of what happened.
the crispness of the cold air in snowdin takes me back- and i'm already reminiscing about random memories.
point to almost any rock formation along the walls of this place, and papyrus can probably tell you exactly how he's climbed it.
kicking the snow with my slippers a little bit, i remember how he used to warn me about wearing 'em outside.
—-
"YOU'LL SLIP AND FALL IN THOSE!!"
"naahh. i'll be fine."
"......"
"SEE? EVEN GRILLBY AGREES IT'S A BAD IDEA!!"
—-
for the most part, i always was fine; just had to be careful around the ice.
fortunately, it's not an issue using shortcuts; really only ever slipping a few times.
—-
"I SAID THIS WOULD HAPPEN."
"you've slipped even in your boots."
"THAT WAS A ONE-OFF ACCIDENT!"
"so was this."
sliding me across the ice until we were close enough to the snow to stand again, papyrus lifted me onto my feet once more.
"I TOLD YOU THIS WAS A TERRIBLE IDEA."
"you've gotta admit that over two weeks without slipping in these is pretty good."
"THERE'D HARDLY BE SLIPPING AT ALL IF YOU WOULD JUST PUT ON BETTER FOOTWEAR."
"these are way better."
"OBVIOUSLY NOT?! YOU 𝘑𝘜𝘚𝘛 SLIPPED!"
"but with snow boots, you have to tie 'em and whatnot."
"YOU DO THAT WITH MOST SHOES, SANS."
"not with slippers."
"YOU'RE GOING TO WEAR SLIPPERS ALL THE TIME.."
"JUST SO THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO TIE THEM?"
"yep."
"that's the plan."
"YOUR ABILITY TO CONSISTENTLY FIND THE LAZIEST ROUTE IN EVERY ASPECT OF LIFE CONFOUNDS ME, BROTHER."
"IT'S ALMOST IMPRESSIVE."
"thanks. that's the one thing i do put effort into."
"...BEING LAZY."
"it's hard work, doing this little."
—-
ahh.
back when new bad habits of mine still surprised him.
...speakin' of bad habits.
grillby's looks like it hasn't been touched since the day we took all the important stuff up.
the most one'll find in there now is a fine layer of dust only disturbed by me brushing against some stuff.
not that the jukebox ever worked before, but i'm pretty sure it wouldn't turn on if you tried at this point.
——
already knew the librarby was empty; they gave away all the books before leaving to the surface.
took the sciencey ones, myself.
wanted the joke book too, but a certain old lady got to it first.
officially, it is hers.
unofficially, the book keeps bouncing between being in either of our possession for months at a time.
it's gained a few pages over the years, a lined-paper section at the end with a lotta skeleton and snail puns.
think paps split the cookbooks with someone, and hoarded the puzzle books.
(not like anyone else was readin' those, anyway.)
there were a couple on monster history i'm almost certain i've seen frisk with a few times, so they must've gotten those.
as charming as this little place was, the new library's got way more selection.
sorry, not library.
still librarby.
they kept the name. too iconic to change it.
even if it had been changed, we'd all continue to call it the librarby anyway.
——
many of the folks who had shops down here have taken up that same role on the surface.
the two bunnies running the inn and shop moved somewhere closer to new home city for better business.
——
in the snow, i did what i'd done a million times in the past.
i parked myself at the foot of the door which separated snowdin from the ruins.
—-
"knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
she'd say.
"cash."
"Cash who?"
"no thanks, i'm more of a walnut guy."
and i'd heard her burst out into laughter from the other side.
"Knock, knock."
"who's there?"
"Hatch."
"hatch who?"
"Oh, bless you."
then she'd laughed at her own joke hard enough to be contagious.
"knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
"canoe."
"Canoe who?"
"canoe come out here? i'm gettin' bonely."
she got a good kick out of that one, but her laughter had a tinge of sadness to it.
"...But, I am afraid not."
didn't expect any different of an answer.
always thinking it better not to ask quite why, i shrugged.
"one day, maybe."
"or not."
"you could just be mysterious door lady forever if you want."
"....."
"Knock, knock."
"who's there?"
"Peas."
"peas who?"
"Peas excuse my secretiveness. I know it can be a bit off-putting."
"everyone's got their secrets, 𝘴𝘯𝘰𝘸 problem to me if you keep a few."
"Ha! I am glad that you are so 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘭 with it."
"It is a joy to hear your 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘭 jokes every day!"
"nice to have someone with an a-𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳-able laugh to tell 'em to."
my slight regret about that pun immediately washed away upon hearing the laugh in question follow after it.
—-
....welp.
as fun as reminiscing has been, i've definitely left papyrus alone for far too long.
gotta spend at least a little time in the snow with him.
that's what we came back here for in the first place.
——
"WHEN DO YOU THINK IT'LL SNOW ON THE SURFACE?"
"it's supposed to get pretty cold soon, so probably not too long now."
"besides."
"if your desire for snow gets too awful bad, we'll just come down here again."
"WE SHOULD BRING FRIENDS WITH US NEXT TIME!"
"would be cool to re-visit the whole underground with everyone after all this time."
"OH!"
he sat straight up in the snow, scattering the powder around as he did so.
"YOU KNOW WHAT WE SHOULD DO?"
"what's that?"
"COME, COME! QUICKLY!!"
——
from that very same spot we all first looked in awe at our new future, me and him watched the sun set.
golden light poured over everything; sun beams warm in contrast to the town we've left once again.
"WHEN WE FIRST MOVED OUT FOR GOOD, I REALLY THOUGHT I'D MISS IT MORE."
"THOUGH, I DIDN'T EXACTLY HAVE THAT FEELING OF TRAPPED-NESS ON THE SAME LEVEL EVERYONE ELSE SEEMED TO."
"IT'S HARD TO GET BORED WHEN YOU'RE THE MOST ENTERTAINING SKELETON AROUND!"
"WITH THE COOLEST BROTHER AROUND."
"aww."
"...MAYBE I DID FEEL TRAPPED A LITTLE.. BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE."
"WE'RE ALL ON THE SURFACE TOGETHER, AND THAT 𝗜𝗦 WHAT MATTERS!"
when he turned to look at me, i couldn't tell whether his face was lit up more by the sun or the smile he had.
"I'M REALLY HAPPY HERE."
"me too."

I had this one idea a long while ago, due to a quote from Undertale, shown in a book in the Snowdin Librarby.
"Love, hope, compassion… This is what people say monster SOULs are made of. But the absolute nature of "SOUL" is unknown. After all, humans have proven their SOULs don't need these things to exist."
I love how this book shows that monsters still have their biases against humanity, as probably expected from a book of this nature. It makes it sound like monsters are completely kind and compassionate, when there's some that blatantly go against that in the game.
Sure, Flowey, a being without a soul, is unable to feeel the emotions. But I suppose there's a difference between the inablity and choosing to act against such feelings.
It makes me imagine an Undertale AU where monsters force themselves to act entirely compassionate and do-no-wrong, and you either play into that until it consumed them emotionally (and physically, considering how emotions can affect monsters), or reveal their true emotions that they keep locked up, helping them feel less pressured to fall to such a false pretense.
In a way, the thought kinda feels like a reverse Underfell, where instead of monsterkind being all edgy and evil, they're stuffy and do-right, being all "morally superior", with their actual feelings only occasionally popping up.
Maybe I'll do something with the thought. I just decided on a name for it.

get it? cuz "rose" as in the opposite of fell, but also the phrase "rose-tinted glasses" i'm so smart

“Down Memory Lane”
Today's prompt is "Dusty" and I wanted to take a more bittersweet angle on it rather than straight up angst. As we know from the Snowdin Librarby, when monsters die their dust is spread on their favorite things. After initially emerging to the surface, I imagine anyone who lost a loved one would go back to get the objects and bring them to the surface. In Toriel's case, it's Asriel's toys and a pair of golden flowers in Chara's memory.
For Sans, I'm one of those fans that likes making a lot of fancharacters up to and including relatives of canon characters. This includes FanParents and the dust of his mother is in the family portrait he's carrying. There's also some unfortunate damage to the picture and what looks like a 4th person in the portrait is unidentifiable.   The two are exchanging stories of their family, celebrating their memories.

A Few Stars
“A long time ago, monsters would whisper their wishes to the stars in the sky. If you hoped with all your heart, your wish would come true. Now, all we have are these sparkling stones on the ceiling…”
—Casodir, Cassian, Reflection Under the Surface, Snowdin Librarby Publishing, 33 ABE
“Thousands of people wishing together can’t be wrong! The king will prove that.”
—Anonymous
———
*You hear a passing conversation
“It’s peaceful out here isn’t it?”
“It’s too quiet…”
“Oh, don’t be such a sissy.”
A small child walks through a damp cavern, a fluffy white paw grasped tight in their tiny fingers. The child is leading another child, a small goat monster. The soothing white noise of rushing water softly permeates the background from some distant chamber.
“Where are we, Chara?”
“I don’t know! Isn’t it wonderful?”
“I think we should go back…”
The child leads the goat to one of the cave walls and sits down. The goat sits down next to them.
“Brother, look up!”
The goat lifts his head slowly, and a little cautiously, then exclaims.
“Woah!”
The cave roof is covered with thousands of glowing blue stones, glinting against the void of the ceiling as if suspended in air.
“Beautiful, isn’t it? They look just like the stars from back home.”
“What’s a star?”
“A star… Well, they usually come out at night. They cover the sky with little pricks of light, like this. Sometimes people would ask them for things, like wishes.”
“What’s a wish?”
“…”
“Chara?”
“A wish is when… sometimes, Asriel, people really, really want something, but they know they can never have it. So we make a wish, hoping that out there, somewhere, there might be some unknown power that can grant it, and bring a little joy to our lives…”
“…”
“Of course, it’s all just lies we tell ourselves to distract from the reality of life.”
“Chara, don’t say that! I believe wishes are true!”
“You didn’t even know what a wish was till just now.”
“I don’t care. C’mon Chara, make a wish!”
“How about you go first.”
“Alright, I wish that my sibling and I will see the real stars some day.”
“That’s a good wish, Azzy.”
“So? Don’t you have any wishes to make?”
“…hmmm, just one, but… it’s kind of stupid.”
“Don’t say that! Come on, I promise I won’t laugh.”
“…if I say my wish… you promise you won’t laugh at me?”
“Of course I won’t laugh!”
“…Someday, I’d like to climb this mountain we’re buried under. Standing under the sky, looking at the world all around… That’s my wish.”
The goat child giggles softly. His companion turns to look at him with a hurt expression.
“…hey, you said you wouldn’t laugh at it!”
“Sorry, it’s just a little funny… that’s my wish too.”
Eventually the two siblings stand up, and walk back the way they came, the child leading their goat companion. The blue flowers scattered across the cave floor murmur a soothing chatter as their footsteps fade down the corridor, then quiet falls once more.
*It’s strangely silent.

This is an extremely short fanfic I wrote a long time ago based on some of the echo flower dialogue in Undertale
The quotes from the beginning come from Undertale, but are cited in-universe (in the AU this story take place in, which is Faithtale)

Shifting Sans Chapter 15 "Walking in a Winter Wonderland"
~
Chapter 1 - Chapter 14 - Chapter 16
~
Walking through Snowdin was a surreal experience.
Frisk skipped around me and Papyrus as we passed the Librarby, which looked exactly as I remember it, misspelled sign and all. A brown bear monster in an orange jacket exited, nose buried in a book labeled “Political Science”. They nearly bumped into Papyrus, giving a short greeting before continuing to read and not look where they were going. That must be the same bear that kept going on about how strange politics were back in Snowdin.
I mean, my Snowdin.
Just beyond the Librarby I noticed two young, white dog monsters building long necked snow dogs, who barked a greeting as we walked by and all three of us waved. They looked so familiar but I couldn’t quite place them.
What really threw me was Grillby’s being replaced with “The Dog House Bar and Grill”. I stood frozen, staring at it until Papyrus grabbed my shoulder, snapping me out of it. I shook my head to clear it before whispering “later” since I didn’t wanna talk about my world so openly. Not yet at least.
We passed the Gyftmas tree in the center of town, decorated festively with gifts scattered beneath it, and the connected Snowed Inn and Snowdin Shop. Looking in the windows revealed Catty at the Inn’s front desk and Bratty at the Shop’s cash register. Where were the bunnies that populated most of my Snowdin? There were plenty of other furry monsters walking around, just going about their day, but I had yet to see a single bunny.
There was no “Welcome to Snowdin” sign as we headed out towards Snowdin forest.
Frisk had been running ahead throughout the town, swimming in Papyrus’ largest sweater, knitted with thick, pale yellow yarn. Their hands barely made it past the elbow of the sleeves, the extra length trailing behind as they waved their outstretched arms around wildly. I couldn’t tell who was in control but whoever it was seemed to be having the most innocent time of their life, kicking up snow while laughing and dancing around in oversized clothing, singing some wordless tune.
It was adorable.
And it hammered home that these two really were just kids. They’d been thrown into an impossible situation, with far more power and responsibility than any kid needed to be dealing with; they were just trying to make the best of it. Not only with the resets but their potential involvement with that “joint family” thing Sans had mentioned; I couldn’t stop thinking about it. For the sake of monster kind, I hope it works. For our personal sakes, I hope it falls through.
The kid stopped and waved at me and Pap in their excitement as we trailed behind them.
“Somethin’ tells me they left their jacket home on purpose,” I said, waving back. They giggled and took off again.
“I don’t know what it is about that sweater but they always wear it at every opportunity,” Papyrus chuckled, allowing himself to feel some affection for the human. He called to them, “Don’t forget about the traps, Frisk!”
“I~ know~,” they sang back before stopping at the bridge marking the edge of the settled area, flopping onto a snowbank and began waving their arms and legs about on the ground.
The bridge wasn’t just painted stone like it was in my world, it was a proper suspension bridge; support cables ran from one side of the crevasse to the other, attached to giant arches with their own inner suspension systems. I was no architect but it looked very complicated.
“Look! I made a snow Sans!” Frisk dragged me away from marveling at the architecture to show me their imprint in the snow. “See the long, flowy sleeves and the poofy pants?”
I looked at the vaguely humanoid imprint. I could see the arms and legs, at least, but any resemblance beyond that was lost on me.
“Looks just like ‘im, kiddo,” I replied with an easy smile. I brushed some of the snow off their back.
“You liar!” Frisk laughed before taking off again. They had way too much energy.
“Walk across the bridge, Frisk, don’t run,” Papyrus instructed. “We don’t need you falling off and getting hurt. Again.”
“Yeah, yeah,” they said dismissively. Despite that, they did slow down and even held onto the guard rail as we all crossed the long bridge.
I looked down over the side but couldn’t see the bottom, shrouded in darkness. A shiver ran up my spine and I kept going.
How far down does it go?
If I can figure out how to fly, could I find out?
We arrived at the other side without incident.
“So, traps, huh,” I said as Frisk took off again, but sticking closer to us now. “And here I thought humans were welcome around here.”
“Building traps and puzzles as a community is one of the few remaining traditions from before the barrier,” Papyrus responded, giving me an odd look. “Is that not the case where you’re from?”
“Originally yeah, I guess,” I shrugged. “But catching humans became a bigger focus after Asriel died.”
“You said he was still a young Prince when he died, right?” Chara said from somewhere in front of us and I couldn’t help but flinch.
I glanced around.
“Where’s Frisk?” I asked
“He had to, uh, relieve himself,” Chara was suddenly very uncomfortable. I couldn’t see her but I got the distinct impression she couldn’t look at me or Pap in the eye. I barely remember human anatomy from the time I could still consider the Anomaly a friend but I guess even monster food has to do the whole “digestion” thing. Human anatomy was weird.
“That reminds me, I wanted to confirm,” I said, hoping to distract her. “I’ve heard you and Frisk use gendered pronouns for each other while everyone else seems to use neutrals for you. What do you prefer I use?”
“On paper, we identify as gender-fluid, since I’m a girl and Frisk is a boy,” Chara said, still invisible but feeling less uncomfortable. “Using they/them pronouns makes the most sense, especially when referring to the two of us as a single entity. Neither of us are very attached to our genders anyways but gendered pronouns are convenient when referring to only one of us at a time.”
“Gotcha, so neutrals double as plurals for you two,” I nodded as Frisk emerged from a bush to the right of the path. “Back to your original question; yeah, my Asriel was still a kid while yours was an adult, if I remember right. I don’t know everything about his story but I’ll tell what I can if you’ll tell me about your story sometime. And we should probably come up with a name for him, too.”
“Frisk and Papyrus have already heard my story so I can tell you about it while they take care of these next few puzzles,” Chara offered as we came upon an ice field with buttons scattered around it.
“Sounds good to me,” I nodded watching the other two slide around on the ice. “I’ll keep an eye out for anyone approaching.”
“Thank you. I fell into the Underground over a hundred years ago, the first human to have done so in living memory,” Chara began. “Asriel was King at the time and Sans was his closest advisor and best friend. They found me, hurt and scared, and took pity on me, Asriel taking me in as his own child. Due to my upbringing, I felt the need to earn my place in Asriel’s home and did everything in my power to not be a burden, especially with my near constant nightmares. One night, after waking yet again, I decided to practice baking rather than risk going back to sleep and, in my delirious state, I misread a recipe to include buttercups in a pie, rather than cups of butter. I had been introduced to so many strange foods in the Underground that it seemed reasonable enough to put flowers in a pie, and I eventually passed out from exhaustion later that morning. Sans tried some of the pie as I slept and became violently ill as a result. This… did not help my mental state.”
Frisk and Papyrus had solved the ice puzzle and were calling and beckoning me to the other side. While I wouldn’t call myself graceful by any stretch, I skated across the ice with no problems.
“Something similar happened with my Chara,” I stated as we caught up to Pap and Frisk. “The whole buttercups, cups of butter mix up.”
“She’s giving you the long version, huh?” Frisk grinned as we headed to the next puzzle.
“It’s not that long,” Chara huffed.
“It’s long enough,” I whispered. “Someone’s coming.”
A short mouse monster in a cape with a spear twice as tall as themself waved at us from across an open field and Papyrus waved back. Behind them was a tall monster whose body was obscured by a cloak, face covered in a mask. Both began approaching.
“Papyrus, what are you doing here?” the mouse said, somewhat accusingly.

I already asked AFAC this a few seconds ago, but while I’m at it, let’s go to both pages. What’s the difference between a human heart (organ) and a human soul?
Goldy: I'll take this one!
The human heart is a physical organ that pumps blood throughout all the body, ensuring the body gets oxygen and nutrients.
The human SOUL is described in Undertale by Flowey as "the culmination of your being." We see Human SOULs taken as power sources, but whenever Flowey/Asriel took a SOUL, it was always his undoing because the SOUL(s) could act by themselves.
In short… SOULs are metaphysical representations of people themselves. Everything that makes a human themself. And even then, according to the essay on SOULs in the Snowdin Librarby, this is by no means a complete definition.
So there you have it!

💥 and 🤔 for the writer asks? :)
💥Is there a chapter, scene, or WIP you're most excited to write? Share a snippet or tell us about it!
OH MAN I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM TO WRITE CHAPTERS 21, 22, AND 23 OF ADVENTURES OF THE DREAM TEAM here’s a transcript of my notes from my writing book:
21: (After going through the door to Nightopia) luckily, Luigi doesn’t run into anyone/thing unfriendly. The reason? Polterpup’s been sending all the Nightmarens back to Wizeman and Antasma!* With his trusty pup by his side, Luigi searches this entire place (a/n: probably some kind of wood)
22: Luigi sees Mario, who made it out! Yay! (For context, Mario’s been trapped in a cage suspended in a void for most of the fic.) But it’s not actually Mario, it’s Dreamy Mario (like in the first actual Antasma fight). Luigi’s tipped off because while Dreamy Mario acts mostly like his big bro, there’s a few small differences only he would notice. Also Polterpup growls at him so. Dreamy Mario transforms into (insert past monster from game here/Mr. L/Negative Luigi (from the Smash Melee final smash)/something) and Luigi wins by basically rocket-punching it with all his Ideya power, amplified by his love for his bro or [sic] smth cheesy and wholesome like that. With his hope restored, he heads back to the pavilion (Dream Gate), but at the door Polterpup refuses to cross the threshold, so Luigi says his goodbyes and goes back alone
23: Remember how I said Polterpup was driving all the Nightmarens back? Well, that was a partial truth. The REAL reason was Wizeman and Antasma recalling all the troops to enhance them and focus their powers on attacking the Pavillion. When Luigi gets there, he finds the forest overrun, the fountain broken, an injured Owl and Dreambert, and, worst of all, no NiGHTS. Owl and Dreambert explain what happened.
So yeah, I’m really excited for those chapters. However, since I’ve convinced myself I can only write them in order, I’m not gonna get to them for a while.
🤔 Are there any new characters you want to write about?
I think Asgore’s grief and choices would be fun to explore. But now I wanna write a oneshot about the lizard monster who runs the Librarby in Snowdin lmao

What would Soph and Nala look like in underwizard?
(Can be age (baby to adult), emotionless or not, different clothings and more.)
Tumblr media
Nala: Started working not long ago at the Snowdin librarby. She's emotionless and really lonely, but what gives her company is her plushie, books and her imagination. She doesn't care if she's alone, she's good on her own, or so she thinks. You'll usually see her during the break on the step in front of the librarby.
Sophie: Takes care of everyone in the house (Papyrus does it too but he hides his problems differently from her, so she takes care of him too and listens to him). She works in a mini market in Snowdin, in her free time she paints as hobby. (@sophietheskelly added that she shout down her market later on and that she went missing. She's now the River Person.)

well. good for them. i guess.

Real quick just to clear up about that Chara art ut analysis (I was bored and reading tags):
- Chara was implied to be abused due to the info on the faded ribbon, reading "If you look cute, they won't hit as hard." (Paraphrasing but that's pretty much the exact definition.) Under Narachara this implies that Chara was abused to some extent above ground.
- To add onto this there's a lot more evidence the humans above ground are generally horrible people, a lot to list but a quick wiki visit should suffice with examples. Also important to note is that in the librarby in Snowdin there is a book that says while Monsters souls are made out of kindness and compassion, human souls are not. This is a biological fact moreso than just meaning all humans are evil (the kindness soul existing obviously counters that fact) but it likely also means that humans aren't constrained by kindness.
- Simply put they attack Asriel/Chara because Asriel is a monster, and you know already they are prejudiced against them.
Using this we can infer that Chara was likely overtaken by emotions from the humans, and while it's ambiguous what they were originally planning to do (Assuming it was for pacifistic intentions to break the barrier, I'd assume they were going to ask the stronger human magicians that may or may not exist anymore to shatter the barrier) Chara decided to try fighting and killing the village (due to being overtaken by emotions or in self defense, I think it's left ambiguous but I don't exactly remember) while Asriel held back Chara.
Just wanted to clear it up cuz you seemed confused on it so I wanted to push some facts out, incase you'd even want to read it. Anyways have a good day <3
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
Oh my gods this was really helpful. Its 2am I'm still brain dead but this does put a lot of things in line for me!
Yeah, when writing that original response my smooth brain completely glossed over the fact that the two of them shared a body that was monster-like, which would obviously cause the village to want to kill them.
... what was my original argument again lmao.
Edit: ok I reread it, I think my confusing was from like, the reason why the village was abusive (which is obviously never told) and why Chara requested to be buried back in the village (was that a thing? I think that was a thing) once they died to help break the barrier. Why would they want to be back in the village as their dead bed? (Assuming that's a thing, I'm very tired and not thinking straight, I can't remember the details)

The ARChives
It had taken weeks for everything to download. Niven had carefully gone through with every librarian in the Underground to choose what was going to go. The easiest choices were things like histories and sciences. Both records of times before the Underground, and new texts that gave a summary of all that had happened since. Even the sciences had what they knew from the humans in addition to everything that had been discovered by their esteemed scientists since the Resets began. Then of course there were stories and poetry, and the music files and for every song that had been recorded or composed. But really it began to get much harder to choose from there. Was this cookbook really important enough to take up the time to download it? How about this particular monsters’ daily journal? Or what about this treatise on the War of 1812, which had been an entirely human war and had little to do with them aside from being a record of an important event in their world. What would they wish to remember if they went to another Universe? What records and histories would they need to keep? And would it make a difference to anyone if smaller files were left behind? Niven had been recommended to head the project by the Prince himself, who had changed his name some time ago to Realis. It was quite the honor, and Niven was glad that the Prince had taken a liking to him on his visits to gather reading material from the Snowdin Library. But the job itself was agonizingly tedious. There was simply too much. If they tried to just jump in and download the entire Undernet it would have taken hundreds of years more, and wouldn’t finish because there would always be more data gathering while they waited for it. So they had to decide what was worth saving from all of it. Really that project had taken nearly half a year on its own. He’d begun the process before Doctor Gaster had even begun building his ship. But once they’d decided and sorted exactly what they wanted to go, it had taken only a few short weeks to download it to the ship’s archives, which had more than enough memory for all the data as well as its own systems and whatever else the scientists had thought to put in. Niven beamed at the gauge as it ticked the last little space up to 100%. Finished at last. The door opened and he turned, still smiling, to find a frantic looking Gaster.
“Oh good,” said the scientist, his voice betraying none of the frenzy that lingered in his eyes and in the set of his skeletal jaw. “You’re finished. Listen, I need you to stay on this ship. Do not leave this ship, do you hear me?” Niven blinked. “Yes, yes of course. I’ll stay right here. But why?” Having his answer, Gaster had already pushed past the short green lizard and was heading deeper into the ship. He did not stop or turn around at hearing the question, but only called out an answer behind him. “We’re evacuating. Right now.”
