i will always give the benefit of the doubt to people writing as antagonists, villains, "problematic characters" as well as characters deemed "problematic" in association with their series or authors.

i do not subscribe to the idea that just because you write a certain thing, it means you condone its ideals or behaviours. hell, i'm writing a path to nowhere character, and you know i want to write about women's wrongs, but i'm not a women's wrongs "activist" per se.

i'm not trying to normalise anyone's behaviour in path to nowhere, and therefore i agree that anybody else should be given the same space to do so. i am here to write stargazer because i love her backstory as well as what she represents, and i want to expand on my headcanons for her while i experience the game. nothing is more fulfilling to me than to make sure that she interacts with the widest cast (and outside) imaginable. needless to say, this is why i follow plenty of rpers even outside of ptn.

HOWEVER -

if you are someone who starts drama in any way, or believes that choices in writing equates to direct endorsement and will incite negative speech for it, we should not be in the same space. (that is to say, we should not interact and simply disregard each other)

god i wish i wouldn't have to explain the intricacies of the neopets economy to you guys to give the full context for this but. the new neopets team that took over from jumpstart pledged that they were going to curb the inflation of rare items, which is great because a lot of rare items are worth literally hundreds of millions of neopoints, they are unbuyable unless you've been playing actively for 20 years. they did this earlier with a site festival that included random loot boxes, some of which had Unbelievably Fucking Rare And Precious items worth 200 million neopoints apiece.

today they have gone a step further. by releasing this year's trick-or-treat bags. and having the trick-or-treat bags be stuffed to the brim with unbelievably fucking rare stamps, weapons, paint brushes, defense magic, and other unbuyables. (all prohibitively expensive and in-high-demand types of items.)

jellyneo, the premier neopets website, has recorded prices of some items plummeting from 2,000,000 neopoints to 4,000 neopoints IN THE LAST THREE HOURS. this is when most people haven't even heard about the event or OPENED THEIR BAGS YET.

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

The authors of XKit Rewritten said during the experiments that at the time, since this was an "experiment" they weren't going to implement anything to revert to the old UI (although who knows if they'll do it now). And the dashboard unfucker has worked beautifully enough for me to where I genuinely couldn't tell if they had ended the experiment or not.

Listen, you should never film strangers in public without their consent, but I swear there need to be fines or something for people who do that shit in some spaces. For example: I had to go to the ER last night, and some jerk filmed a woman who just came in and was clearly having an asthma attack. She immediately got to go back, and he was unhappy about that. Believe me, I get that it sucks having to wait when you're in pain, but you don't get to pick who deserves care when. The medical system in the US is a nightmare, and the ER could be the worst moment of someone's life. No one deserves to be recorded because some jack ass believes someone doesn't look like they need care.
