It came to my attention that people don't like the song and I'm like???? Have you seen the staging??? Also they did really well on the final besides starting second. Ukraine is just really good at serving in this contest.

Armenia 🇦🇲

In my humble opinion one of the best ethnic pop representation this year. I enjoyed every moment of it and I got really scared in the semifinal that they wouldn't make it but they did and slayed.

Netherlands 🇳🇱

Well, sadly, we didn't get the opportunity to enjoy this song in the Grand Final. But it was the first Eurovision song that I listened to this year and I really enjoyed it. It would have come far in the final.

Croatia 🇭🇷

This one was the winner of the Televote, unsurprisingly. It isn't my favourite genre but I like songs I can scream to and just like Europapa, this was an early listening of mine and yeah.

Switzerland 🇨🇭

My beloved. Truly an artwork and, in my opinion, a deserved winner of this contest. Is it the best song? Juries voted so. (And I voted so) A very sympathetic artist and very talented.

Ireland 🇮🇪

HONESTLY HOW POETIC WOULD IT HAVE BEEN OF IRELAND TO WIN IN SWEDEN AND CLAIM THE THRON AGAIN? Also I had no idea what happened on stage but I liked the vibe so I voted for it. :)

Where was the French flag? NO but honestly, this was a really great song and I thought that he would do better in the Jury voting. Maybe even take the trophy home. Would have been as deserved as Switzerland.

Norway 🇳🇴

Norway's result is really sad. The problem is that the Eurovision audience is highly unpredictable and that this wouldn't to well in the Juries wasn't a surprise. I LIKE THE SONG. (Otherwise it wouldn't have been in the top ten) But I just realised we could've had KEIINO and now I feel a really tiny bit robbed.

Germany 🇩🇪

I AM SO HAPPY that this didn't end up last and that he got recognised by the Juries because his voice really didn't deserved the last place AT ALL. Also the more you listen to it, the better it gets (which is actually the case for most German entries). And he got criticised because of his appearance and that wasn't really cool, so I am happy he shut their mouths.

Austria 🇦🇹

Well. I've seen the result coming because her vocals didn't quite turned out well in the semifinal and it got better in the final but she had to perform after France, who delivered.

There’s a lot about the modern games industry that really pisses me off, which like, wow what a controversial statement. Yeah day 1 patches and microtransactions and deluxe and gold and platinum and ultimate editions and preorder bonuses and and and- are all bad. Shocker. But I think a recent thing that I’ve been thinking about thanks to Mortal Kombat 1 that I really hate is. Deluxe editions that let you play the game early. And I don’t mean like early access or open betas or anything, I mean full on getting the finished (as finished as any new AAA game release is anyway) product X amount of days earlier than the actual release date. Hogwarts Legacy (L game btw) and Diablo 4 did/are doing it as well, and there are plenty of other examples. And it just pisses me off because. All it’s doing is moving up the actual release date for people willing to pay more. Suddenly your acclaimed marketing release date of whatever fucking day you chose is irrelevant because the people that were able to afford the $100 version of your game with bonus premium currency and character skins are now also just bypassing that release date entirely. It’s just so transparently a way to sell games for higher prices - you can play the game even earlier if you fork up like $40 extra. I genuinely love the culture of the pre-release cycle for a game and waiting for one to release so it especially bothers me to see that get deliberately ruined for so many games just for higher profit margins.

Pet peeve of mine...

when a show establishes an incredible dynamic between two or more characters, then proceeds to give them no screentime together for multiple seasons. It really grinds my gears.

#most streaming shows and some network shows do this and i don't really get it #so i think it would be easier to tag the shows i like that don't fall into this pattern #abbott elementary #janine and gregory are in a weird place but it's obvious they'll be fine #the boys #if that show finds a pairing that works either romantically or platonically they usually won't let it fall by the wayside #hughie and starlight (especially hughie) annoyed me a bit in s3 but they had sweet moments too and their arc ended pretty nicely #dickinson #okay i'm cheating here because this show did keep emisue apart in ways that were sometimes frustrating #but they made it clear that they were always on each other's minds and gave them many big moments throughout the three seasons #it also didn't completely toss away other dynamics that i liked such as emily and lavinia and emily and death #being human #the goat honestly #they core four always had their own thing going on but they included each other as much as possible #they nailed it and i wish more people talked about that show #and yes this is blasphemy but i only mean the north american version #the uk version replaced its cast halfway through so i just can't count it unfortunately

#oof. it as been a very very long day. so much talking. all day talking and interviews #and so far my feelings are mixed. bc it is a smaller university and its underfunded and cost of living is kinda high #and the town is small and isolated. HOWEVER #the faculty feels like a strong community and theyre all amazing scientists who choose to b there bc the quality of life is so high #they seem extremely supportive and the fact its small means that i could probably get around better given my intense anxiety around driving #and i could literally just walk to hiking paths rather than having to drive way out. and its fucking so beautiful. the clouds r gorgeous #bc theyre all conpressed by the mountains around this lil valley. also the potential advisor seems amazing. the grad students have good #things to say and hes excited that im interested in the things im interested in. and i talked to an astrobiology guy and he was like u #should apply for X grant and i would b happy to help u and the advisor is a former nasa post doc so he has nasa astrobiology connections. #so those r some pretty great things. i mean. of the schools im looking at this one would prob be the best for my brain tbh #i mean the uk one is too rigid in structure and i cant fuck around so much as at a us school. and the east coast on is hard to say no to bc #its a good school with lots of funding and opportunities to b creative but i would have to hard core get my shit together and hes quite #hands off. and id b living in the city which sucks. so like. i mean this school is kinda looking like the best choice for me. definitely #the healthiest. i mean assuming i dont fuck it up and get the offer after this weekend. but yeah. i mean im not fully in love i think #and the idea of commiting to 5years here is terrifying but id get a lot of support that i dont think ive really ever had. not that my #current boss isnt great but our lab is kinda disconnected. and i really fit in perspective wise in my interests. and id get to work at #[redacted] national park. which is so cool that i might have to unredact it if i end up here bc its so fucking next level #not that the national park i have access to now isnt awesome but. like its next level awesome and i could maybe wiggle may way into maybe #some arctic systems and i bet i could get my current boss to send me desert samples. so yeah i could def see a life here #but fuck i dont want roomates with all my heart. y does it have to b so expensive for a trash apartment? bleh #god. im so tried. so much talking. but a good day. and im going skiing tomorrow bc like thats a thing here lol #unrelated
