I like the idea of Jon and Martin waking up somewhere else but I like the idea more if all the avatars are pulled through to somewhere else. My main reasons for this are

Annabelle Cane, Oliver Banks, and that dark avatar kid I don’t remember the name of.

Annabelle for obvious reasons she can be the friend/enemy. Just showing up for the drama. Oliver banks for the funny Martin jealousy and also he’s there for the drama. Last but not least the dark avatar child because Martin and Jon stepping in to be his avatar uncles.

For some reason I had the absolute weird ass idea of some old woman coming back from church with her grandkids when they see an angel. Or at least it has to be an angel. It isn't a cute shinning guy with wings, but the bunch of eyes all of dffferent shapes and collors and not all human circling around a bright green center going "sorry for the vision, please be not afraid" in a static voice has to be an angel, right?

So they are shocked and staring. The grandma drops on her knees praying and than this completly ordinary guy drops out of nowhere and goes talk to the angel and one of the kids go "wow you can talk to angles" and the guy looks very confused for half a second before saying "oh oh no, that's not an angel... that's my boyfriend Jon... He just sometimes forgets he still has to eat" and drops a bunch of papper plus a cassete tape - inside of a lunch papper sack with a smille face drawned on it- into the angel. So the angel tells a bizarre horror story and suddently he is just the weird guy full of scars that lives across the street. He goes "thanks Martin" and the likely Martin guy goes "so bad news is that the TV broke again from the whole tecnology versus supernatural stick but the good news it's that Bake Off is still playing." and the not an angel anymore guy goes "Normal Bake Off or Eldrish Bake Off?" and "Normal Bake Off" and the most relieved"Good" ever and they hold hands and go away. The trio is still staring at them until one of the kids makes an "you're not you when you're hungry" joke. The grandma is still convinced the weird guy across the street is secretly an angel and starts creating a whole ass dramatic story about it. Life goes on.

So I’ve been thinking non stop abt the Somewhere Else is the Life Series AU and I’ve legit started planning out a fic

I decided to have them in Double Life as soulmates, but with the twist that they (along with all the other DL players) have no memories from outside of the game

Of course, Jon’s connection to the Eye means he does Know things that he shouldn’t, but it’s being restricted by the Watchers, who are very curious about the last minute additions to their game.

Both Jon and Martin Know they’re out of place somehow, that they have something Important that they need to do, someone Important they need to find, but are both too scared of potential consequences to bring it up to anyone, so they both settle for teaming up with different groups and hope the others don’t realize something is wrong.

(A certain avian already has, but he’s not about to tip his hand quite so soon…)

I know I want one of them to team up with Martyn for shits and giggles, tho I’m not sure which.

Plenty of confusion and angst potential if it’s Jon (only calling him Littlewood because referring to him as Martyn somehow feels wrong, making an offhand joke or reference and feeling weirdly upset when Littlewood doesn’t Get It, always having someone by his side yet always feeling strangely Lonely)

but also I love the idea of a Martin and Martyn power duo (LittleBlackwood (as Scar so kindly dubbed them) are strangely effective at setting traps and causing chaos, and people were quick to associate an incoming blanket of fog with the troublesome pair)

I’ll have to rewatch DL before I make any concrete decisions, but the Thought Machine is going
