Ninjago Royalty AU

So this idea came to me when I was thinking about Garmadon’s whole technically being a Lord thing, so long awaited Royalty/generally old-fashioned AU idea and how each character plays into it! (Also for the sake of clarity I will be using Garmadon as the surname since Wu and Garmadon’s names are kinda confusing seeing that Wu is also technically a surname, so they will be Wu Garmadon and Haitao Garmadon)

Lloyd: Is the son of Lord and Lady Garmadon, he is most likely to be the successor to his uncle's throne due to the fact he has no children of his own and would be training to become a ruler instead of a ninja (in this AU Wu would have to be the older brother but we’re already changing a bunch of stuff so oh well) and along the way he makes friends with other nobility/castle goers.

Lord (or Prince depending on circumstances)Haitao Garmadon: The mysterious cursed brother of the king, he is disliked due to the fact most blame his brothers failed assisination attempt on him, with most making assumptions due to his cursed appearance. He tends to stay out of the public eye which only adds to the eerie mystique around his already confusing public image.

Wu Garmadon: The kindly old king of the Western Kingdom who has a lot of regrets, one of which being not admitting his feelings for Misako (Stole that right from the show), though he does not drag his nephew down into those personal matters.

Lady Misako Garmadon: The mother of Lloyd and the wife of Lord Garmadon, she is said to be far more outspoken than her husband with her own fair share of controversy due to disappearing from public eye for multiple years after her son was born before returning over ten years later. What she was doing is still unknown to the public.

Now onto the other ninja! (I am changing last names and stuff, be warned)

Prince Kai Shiroma: The fiery prince of the Eastern Kingdom, twin brother of crowned princess Nya he is head of the kingdoms military and quite proud of it, he has close ties to the southern kingdom and hopes to make connections with the Western kingdom through the possible up and coming ruler.

Crowned Princess Nya Shiroma: She is the head strong soon to be Empress of the Eastern kingdom, after her fathers disappearance she has been preparing to take his throne with her royal advisors taking care of things until she comes of age. She is sweet and quick witted with plenty of secrets she’d rather keep under wraps from the public who is already hesitant of her rule.

Zane Julien: The adoptive son of a world famous traveling doctor Zane is a walking miracle having been brought back practically from the brink of death by the kindly doctor who proceed to raise him as his own and train him in the ways of medicine, philosophy and what ever else sparked his fancy. Him and his father are often at important political gala’s due to his ability to smell poisons, quickly becoming close with some of the royals.

Lady Pixel Borg: Brilliant daughter of acclaimed inventor Barron Cyrus Borg, she is an inventor in her own right and often travels alongside Zane and Dr. Julien when the locations which pique her interest. She’s extremely intelligent and she and Zane are often seen as a rather terrifying duo when seen whispering at galas and other events.

Duke Jay Walker: A very distant cousin of Lloyd but with his parents still tied to the royal family of the Southern kingdom, his parents are most known for their funding of wild architectural projects, large donations and tendency to disappear for months only to reemerge with some new creation or idea. He is attempting to court Princess Nya though no one can tell his true intentions with this.

Crowned Prince Cole Zielle: He is the level-headed prince of the Southern Kingdom, he is popular among the public due to his flashy talents and tendency for extravagance. His mother died when he was young leaving him with only his father whom is an adored figure due to his donations towards the arts and music. It’s said though that the prince disappears for days on end every once in a while for reasons unknown to most because everyone has secrets.

That’s all that I have for now, but I have started writing some semblance of scenes for the actual fic which I promise you will get! Idk if I changed to much but at the same time this is an AU and I can do what I want, for what is the point of art if we can mold it in way we best see it! Let me know if Y'all have any suggestions or ideas cause I'd love to hear it. Anyway now that I've info dumped I think I’m gonna go eat a muffin and then pass out!

The end of the green ninja

Chapter 9 Searching for artifacts

“I have picked up on the sons of Garmadon and they seem to be...raiding museums?” Pixel reported with a confused face about the organization’s actions especially since they were taking commands from Lloyd “Why in the world would he ask for them to do that?” Ronin questioned going to see the monitor on the surveillance footage of the gang “It appears he’s after something that can be found in museums.” Wu pointed his staff at what they were holding having Pixel zoom in on it though it was hard to figure out what it was “Come on we can’t just stand around trying to figure out what they’re stealing!” Kai instructed and ran out the other ninja following pursuit summoning their dragons to fly down to the city “What do you guys think they’re stealing?” Jay asked to kill time while they made their way “Probably a map to another damn serpentine it would make sense, he’s released them once and he’ll do it again.” Cole responded with an eye roll “Remember when we first met Lloyd?” Zane brought up while they were on the topic “Oh yeah when he came into the village demanding for candy.” Kai added and they chuckled a little before a pause, when they first met Lloyd he was just some kid wanting to be like his father and now he’s become exactly that.

Once arriving to where the gang was raiding a museum they all jumped down ready to fight landing on the ground to do spinjitzu knocking out any biker that was close to them “Yeah! Feels nice to fight people you can defeat.” Cole said which was true all their previous fights was against Lloyd whom they couldn’t defeat time and time again that the others couldn’t help but wonder, can they actually be able to defeat him? Meanwhile Harumi rushed up to Lloyd as he practiced honing his new Oni abilities “The ninja are starting to interfere with the plan, should I send backup to deal with them?” She kneeled before him while speaking, a hum could be heard as he considered this question “No need to do so I already got this.” He pulled out from his pocket a scroll that was brought back to him “Then why are we still retrieving the artifacts?” Was her next question “To throw the ninja off my trail. If I hide my true motive with a fake one they’ll be distracted with that one while we can work on ours without problem.” He explained and added that the fake motive was retrieving artifacts of a serpentine “Why a serpentine? And how can you be so sure that they’ll follow through it?” “Trust me I’ve been around them long enough to know how they think, I know it’ll work.”.

“He really is going to release another serpentine!” Jay gasped after they tied up the bikers and finished interrogating with them “I don’t know, that doesn’t really match up with everything Lloyd’s done right now.” Morro couldn’t agree with that answer it didn’t seem right, how could he turn himself Oni then just release serpentine? Obviously this felt like a trick “No way, this has to be it.” Kai disregard the comment “We should start tracking them down once they get a move on to the location.” Nya suggested though first they had to report their findings by going back to the monastery “Serpentine? That’s...odd.” Garmadon looked confused at what he was told and Morro agreed with him “It’s what we’re told so it has to be it.” Zane added, Morro was going to argue back but was interrupted by Kai going “We’ve known him longer than you have, we got this.” With that they all left Morro stayed behind.

“Are you not going with them?” Pixel asked since he didn’t join them “No. I’m going with what I think is really the plan.” He was about to leave when Garmadon placed a hand on his shoulder “I’ll join you, I feel that there is something more sinister behind this.” After that the two went off with their own plan. The ninja followed the bikers that were leading them away to a serpentine once arriving they fought off everyone until noticing something is off “Wait a minute. Isn’t this?-“ Kai was interrupted by a voice saying “The tomb where Pythor was imprisoned?” They all turned around to face a masked Mr E holding a monitor that displayed Lloyd on the screen “Why yes it is. I’m surprised you hadn’t noticed sooner.” He could tell they were all felt dumb for falling in his trap especially when someone told them against it “I thought that-“ “Thought that Mr E was dead? Well yes but I managed to repair them with a few modifications.” Lloyd interrupted Zane when they spoke regarding Mr E next he ordered the robot to attack them which it did during the fight the ninja didn’t realize they got pushed into the cave but when they did it was too late as before they got closed in they heard from Lloyd “I’ll see you soon. Maybe for the last time.”

So I might be trying to write the role swap au you so kindly graced this hellsite with. I will ofcourse credit u for everything but FIRST I need some opinions on some ideas

1, would Lloyds power be over wind?

If so I have some ideas about where his character could go ;3

As for his antagonist role, I can think of a few ways he may end up in the services of the preeminent. But considering morro being his cousin and caring about him, either Lloyd would take one of the other ninja or he’d take morro to “protect him” or smthn

2, EMs of fire and water. Imma say for now their sisters. One of them was skylors late mom and the other voluntary gave her powers to Bentho (Skylor and bentho be indirect siblings let’s goo! I can already imagine some cute dynamics between the two)

3, How unagami got his powers is probably similar to how jays family history worked out. Orphaned and adopted at a young age. But something I wanted to explore was how he discovered his powers (I’m thinking that he and bentho found out their powers to a certain degree before garm found em) and that he helped his dad design games and maybe building his own games! Like Hotwiring a game cartridge to mod a game like an emulator lmao. And when that translated into his training, he ended up unintentionally frying a lot of the electronics cause he wasn’t used to using his powers at a voltage like that xD

4, Pixel is an interesting case. As I’m not sure if she should gain her powers in the same way as Zane. But that reminds me of Zane’s power source! I think Borg would spend a lot of time constructing a suitable power source for pixel (probably in seclusion to avoid unwanted onlookers) and borg would meet the master of ice before pixel was even fully built. Borg would take in the EM of ice and talk all about how his daughter was going to “protect those who couldn’t protect themselves” and yadayada and the EM of ice is like “Yaknow what, sounds cool” and casually passes on his powers into the special power source, which when hooked up into pixel fully transfers the powers of ice to her! Thought she doesn’t discover or use them until she meets garmadon.

5, Vania is a bit of a tougher one. I think Vangelis in this would be a dancing instructor, but Moreso Ballet in style. And he would push Vania to pursue a career in Ballet, even though she had a tendency to enjoy running around in the outdoors much like her mother. I also imagine that she, much like her show personality, would have a little collection of pet rocks (cause I say so) and then later in the story her and cole would geek out about collections and overall cinnamon roll overlode.

6, I REALLY wanna incorporate Harumi into this with a different role so Yaknow what, here’s an idea, she swaps with ronin! Becomes a schemer and traveling ‘merchant’ and everything. And ronin is the tragic little boy who loses his parents to the devourer and gets adopted by the royal family. And instead of a romantic subplot between him and morro (not a destiny shipper myself) they have a bonding moment and become close friends quickly, mostly sharing about how rough life can be (morro discussing his own ordeal with his family) and then yada yada friendship betrayal! Maybe I’ll enhance their relationship more and have morro see him as an older brother figure almost. WHO KNOWS I SURE DONT :D

Thank you so much!!! I'm so excited you love this AU!!!!

1, Lloyd's power is no power. I had thought about making him the wind em but it just doesn't make sense as he is Garm's son.

So I definitely need to rewatch possession to get a better idea of what happens but here's what I'm thinking so far: Lloyd runs away to go to the temple of airjitzu in the hopes of learning it will make him more powerful and gets turned into a ghost. He then winds up with the Preeminent and while there hears about a green ninja saving Ninjago. He and his ghost buddies go to find him. Lloyd is very shocked and surprised to find out it's Morro. He decides to possess him and carry on with the plan (while being gentle with his little cousin of course) with the new motivation of maybe not letting a 14-year-old be the destined savior of the world. Season probably ends with Morro talking Lloyd down and getting him to see he was wrong. Lloyd, not believing he can be redeemed, sacrifices himself like cannon Morro.

2, Oh! I like this idea! I don't currently have anything for the previous em of water so I'll definitely try to use that! I don't have any idea who she is rn, maybe I'll make an oc. If you have any ideas definitely send them my way!

3, So for Unagami, I'm thinking whoever the previous em of lightning died when Unagami was very little. Because of this, he's had his element for as long as he can remember and doesn't notice some fairly obvious signs he has it. I imagine he was always really good at Snap Circuits as a kid and played with them all the time. He was almost too good at it. I think now he's really good at messing around with wires and electricity sort of stuff, he just kinda knows where the electric current is and where it's going. He probably does hotwire stuff a lot lol. When he started training with his powers Garm was describing how the lightning element works and little Unagami's like "Wait, that's just me???".

Bentho was given his element pretty recently compared to the others, probably around season 1 time. After he got it he didn't know what it was and spent a bit of time figuring it out. It was pretty obvious, kind of like if the air was suddenly different. He tried to train with it but it wasn't very easy as he didn't have a teacher and nearly knew what his power was. He tried again to undermine Kalmaar and failed again, he got pretty roughed up and took refuge on the surface where he met the ninja. Kalmaar thinks he's dead.

4, Ok ok so Pixal, I think that the previous em of ice was actually a relative of Borg, like an uncle or something. So when he dies without an heir Pixal was just created and was picked to be the next em of ice. Neither of them knew about this until Garm came.

Pixal does have a special power source that Borg made for her but that was just so she wouldn't have to charge someplace, her element doesn't have anything to do with that as that annoys me in cannon lol.

5, So Vangelis is a differently limiting parent than Lou in cannon. He's overprotective of Vania and doesn't let her go out and do a lot of stuff, which has led to her innocent personality. She likes to collect as many nature items as she can on the occasion she's allowed to go adventuring and has a small collection of "pet rocks". Vangelis is a high-profile dance professor at Marty Oppenheimer School of Performing Arts and spends a lot of his time on that.

When MOTM comes around Vania and Cole totally bond over their dorky nature collections, much fluffy for them! (Purely platonic btw, they besties)

6, Oh yes I love that idea!!! Harumi being a sneaky, manipulative "merchant" and Ronin being a little sad boi prince and friends with Morro!!! I imagine Morro and Harumi's relationship would be kind of like Ezra and Hondo's from Rebels (I hope people get that lol). Morro always trying to see the best in her to everyone else's suspicions! I love the friendship betrayal too, still a lot of trust that was broken and huge emotional impact.

Ninja Swap AU

Hi!! Welcome to my blog!! I will be doing a few projects here but this is the first one!

Essentially I switch all the main Ninja, along with the main recurring allies, with other characters. I will try and detail characters in short after the main list but I will also be making art.

Main Characters

Sensei Garmadon - A powerful sensei with many demons of guilt following him, he is a loving farther and by all accounts a good teacher

Aspheera - A powerful sorceress, the past queen Pyro Vipers, she was betrayed and cursed by a past friend to be in a form she hated, she is close allies with Garmadon and the Ninja

OG Four Ninja

Skylor - Orange Ninja (Master of Amber) - The child of the infamous Master Chen, she was Garmadons first student after Lloyd, she was brought to him by Clouse

Vania - Grey Ninja (Master of Crystals) - After her kingdom was overrun by a man wearing black she escaped and was on the run until she was approached by Garmadon

Pixel - White Ninja (Master of Ice) - Pixel was created by a young Cyrus Borg in an attempt to make a truly human AI, she got her ice abilities after her partner Zane and her where attacked, sadly, Zane did not survive

Dareth - Brown Ninja (Master of Beasts) - Dareth was you average Dojo teacher until he discovered his ability to talk to animals, after that he ventured to the monastery

Added Two

Harumi - Purple Ninja (Master of Destruction) - Harumi is the childhood friend of Lloyd, she was often left at the monastery when her parents where both busy with work or just when she wanted to stay over

Morro - Green Ninja (Master of Wind) - The adopted son of Wu, he died decades before the story began but he is a stubborn boy, after his farther was banished to the dark realm Morro was able to come back to Ninjago, causing minor chaos in some villages.

Every plot line in Ninjago would make a banger dnd plot line and I will elaborate but only up to the sky pirate arc because I stopped watching then.

Base Explanation (I’m working off of non homebrew dnd rules except for subclasses)

The Ninjas are all either monks or rougues and humans except for Zane, Lloyd, Wu and Garmadon. Zane obviously gets revealed to be a war forged but the trio I’m leaning towards being tieflings but I’m not completely confident in that. I do have full like deep dive dnd decision for the core cast but this is all the base shit. Rouge Subclasses there’s; Thuderbolt and Arsonist and Monk there’s; frozen fist, electric veined, storm surge, unbroken stone, the four elements (homebrew the homebrew), and mistweaver. The only mutliclassing I would think of is Nya and Jay being Artficiers too. So it Rounds out to a party of 4 monks, nya and wu are helpful npcs, Garmadon is the BBG. Onto the arcs;

The pilot; so the team starts at like lvl 2 so no subclass but some training to explain the like entire first 2 episodes, Kai PC lore drop, introduce the mcguffin of save nya and collect the weapons. And there’s the entire first arc, yippee. They lvl up to 3 and subclasses are unlocked but are still kinda weak. Skeletons are like a classic starter lvl enemy anyway.

Rise of the Snakes; a couple of side quest that introduce Lloyd, players don’t know about Lloyd unlocking the snakes but start running into them, play the snakes as Yuan-Ti and base the lore more around that so still clans but magic instead of just anatomy being funky. Party is maybe lvl 5-6 about half way through, just a lot of side quest that start to connect, I think lvl 5 is when more subclass stuff is unlocked so true potential shit or whatever for lvl 5, the entire Jay is turning into a snake is vampire mechanics but snake flavored. Nya is that one npc that keeps preventing TPKs because the DM is still adjusting the difficulties, she’s an Artifier at the time. Wooo dee do a 5th player is introduced and takes over Lloyd. It’s like when a new player gets introduced and the party spends all their time teaching the newbie.

Rise of the Green Ninja; the training arc that gets bored quickly the the new player wants to be older and not 8 anymore. And oh damn this was the stone warrior arc?? With the overlord?? New BBG?? I don’t remember this part happening so soon but whatever. Lvl like 7-8, they fight god? I’m sure there’s a dnd god similar to the overlord but I don’t remember which one, but the 1st spinjitzu master 100% counts as a Paladin or Cleric’s God, also Garmadon is a warlock with the overlord as his patron that he then betrays for that dramatic father son npc and pc lore that got built up. Shout out the player with premade backstory, I don’t think cole even has a last name. But yeah big cool black dragon fight, they breath acid so it works.

Rebooted; Jay gets starts to take some levels in Artificer, good for him. Lvl like 10, Jay is probably like lvl 7 monk with lvl 3 artificer, also monks can cast Pass without Trace starting at lvl 3 so like, the entire gangs stealth is insane at all times. I don’t really remember the plot of this one but DM is in a sci-fi phase and it shows. They also keep needing to explain the super nerdy stuff so PIXEL is introduced, the party keeps calling her Siri. The overlord is their baby and they will continue to use the same BBG because “look their stat blocks are already set up and I barley have to change anything anyway!”. The main Yuan-Ti leader is back (Pythor or whatever his name was) Zane dies, they don’t have a healer, tpks get closer every boss battle. IRL vibes of the player having to temporarily quite and using being a war forged as an excuse on how they could probably come back.

Tournament of Elements; Zane’s player is back but not fully, they had a break and the DM made way to many possible PCs if they ever get to play, Tournament of Elements is brought on. Who doesn’t love the vibes of mysteries with weird challenges and people. Player v. player action, some intense ass role play because Kai’s Player developed a backstory beyond ‘dead parents’ with DM. Zane is back officially and the player got new art and keeps asking Siri questions about mechanics, hi PIXEL. Dragons are back from the og transports when the DM got rid of them after being like “hm, kinda op”, they got tired of the cool transport getting fucked up.

Possession: Me after watching any horror media. DM learned about the Call of Cthulhu system and wanted to steal the vibe, they also keep finding a ton of wind monk subclasses and their inner emo of maker is craving. Morro keeps getting called MCR and Lloyd’s player needed a break, Cole’s dice are cursed and are now in dice jail, the ghost mechanics drive him insane, same with the DM but they can’t admit defeat. TPK almost happened again so Kai’s player and the DM conspire again to get Nya more lore to help out. Girlboss time for her. Ronin is the DM’s other emo oc but this one is cool but also still a wet cat. Airjitzu mechanics took years off the DMs life that ended with just “roll the dice for luck to see if it works and how high”, they’re trying but also did this to their self

Skybound: DM found the Genies in the Monster Manual and just rewatched Pirates of the Caribbean. Jay’s player wanted to rewrite some backstory and the DM is just tired at this point, Improv can only take them so far. The big buff lady is the DMs saving grace of mentality. The Dm had to cancel a session because of a wedding and they regretted going and made it all the players problem. Cold is still a ghost and neither the DM nor the players have figured the mechanics of fixing that yet. The layers of reality pages in the DM’s Manual have been abused throughly. There a chalkboard with a list of wishes that have been made. Nya dies but everyone gets pissed so the DM bs’s a way to that she can comeback only to rewrite time.

And that is in my professional opinion of dming for around 3-4 years now and haven’t watched a single episode of Ninjago since like the movie came out. I do also have a full thought process on the cooler character sheet breakdown I might explain someday.

OKAY season 3 thoughts time. not as long but also s3 was like half the size:

worst thing first: the jay/naya/cole love triangle is so ...... bland. its got nothing going for it. like at this point in the show jay/naya honestly speaking doesn't really have a lot going for it. like we dont ever see them hang out or do fun stuff together as a couple or have any cute bonding scenes outside of jay being like "wowww nya hot" or anything. we dont have any real reason to root for them, so why they decided to introduce a love triangle is beyond me. like i guess its because they haven't done anything interesting with jay/naya and a love triangle is the easiest and blandest option possible, but like. come on. cole & naya barely interact in the season outside of cole fighting with jay and i'm really confused as to why we're supposed to think cole has any romantic interest in naya because they... have even less going for them than jay/naya. like man if we're gonna have a love triangle anyways i'd like to have any reason to root for at least one side. please. im not asking for much. make your characters hang out a bit and have some common interests and enjoy spending time together before you start telling me they're in love.

number two: im kind of obsessed with how garmadon's moral standards consistently disappear when it comes to lloyd. like pre this season he takes his vow of non violence or whatever but after lloyd gets captured it just. goes completely out the window. moral compass: son

number three: circling back to ninjago's inability to write a compelling romance i dont inherently mind zane/pixel (and its certainly got better writing than the.... uh . competition, if you want to even bother calling it that) but i do wish the writers would start out these romantic relationships with a much more solid platonic base. like its not the end of the world but i do wish it was more compelling.

number four: ZANE GIRLBOSSING IT THIS SEASON FINALE!!!!!!!!!!! this is one of the few things i did remember from like 8 years ago and for good reason its because hes literally perfect in every single way

number five: im nitpicking here but i think lloyd should get to swear. i think he's earned it

number six: this is more of a general observation than anything else but one thing i think is really . weird. about ninjago's writing is that it seems that every season they give the ninja new cool epic powers and then by the next one they get taken away. and like i understand the reasoning for this - its like when shounen writers keep giving their protagonist increasingly world-shattering powers and the power levels just keep getting more and more ridiculous, because if your original villain is "conquering the whole world and turning everybody evil" then theres only so much you can amp that up as the seasons go on without tacking on too many powers that nobody should be able to stand up to the hero anymore - but also its just. its just weird because i dont think ive ever seen anything like this.

okay i think thats abouttt it im, as always, very excited to get to some of the things i distantly recall (namely in particular the giant green eyeball thing and possibly a tournament / survival island arc that i think was a thing (???)) i know lots is in store and all i really want rn is character interactions. thats my dream i will honestly forgive so much as long as im having fun with the characters and dynamics in a series

whuff…. yeah. as much as thematically i love pixal and theoretically jaya could be extremely interesting. they do NONE of the work to make them so. zane <3 <3 baby’s first traumatic character death. he is. he really is. he deserves it all and so much more. whoever’s censoring lloyd must get paid well bc that kid grew up in eternal middle school. kid knows more swear words than the rest of these socially isolated dorks let him use them

i’ve never really thought about that but,,,, holy shit yeah???? i’m nowhere near an active dragon ball fan but it IS baffling that instead of the usual shonen style they-just-keep-getting-new-powers and we stop using them bc a) we forgot they existed (which does happen a bit here, but less commonly) or b) they’re just obsolete, in ninjago they EXPLICITLY get said new powers taken away. multiple times. is it a medium limitation?? is it just a quirk of the writers??? i’m gonna be thinking about this all night

What if the place of Nya, the sea became Kai?

I decided to write a story about it , so enjoy reading it

CHAPTER 1. Fatal decision

-«Bento Can you tell me how Nyad defeated Wojira ?- Do you remember you told me»

This caught Kai 's attention . Near the window , Nya was talking to Bento . Not noticeably for the two, Kai began to listen to their conversation

-«She merged with the sea» . - without looking at her , Bento replied

- «But how exactly». -Nya persisted in asking

- «She absorbed all the power of the ocean. She merged with him.»

Nya looked towards the window where the fish were currently swimming

Although Kai couldn't see her face, he could understand what she was up to. And he doesn't like it. Bento also noticed it

"Don't even think about it. Although Nyad defeated Wojira, she eventually died. It was a one - way ticket . She disappeared»

Nya turned away from him. She started replaying in her head what her Bento had said. If she wants to save everyone, she will have to do it.

«Nya.» - Kai's voice brought her out of her thoughts.

Looking at her brother, she saw that his eyes reflected concern. He stared at her intently, as if he already knew what she was up to.

«Nya.» - Kai's voice rang out again.- «I heard your conversation with Bento»

- «I have to do this.» - that 's all she could say

-"But you can't do that.- It's certain death2

- «And what do you suggest, not what not to do! Wait for Kalmaar to find us and kill us» .

- «Of course not! But there must be another way»

- «This is the only way out!» - covering her face with her hands, Nya spoke softly. "It's the only way to save him».

She knew that if she merged with the sea, she would not be the same. That she won't see the guys, her parents, Jay, Kai anymore... Why fate is always so unfair. She just wants to....

Warmth, Something warm enveloped her. Nya didn't need to open her eyes to figure out who it was. When she was feeling bad or sad, Kai always hugged her (just like now.) .

- «We will definitely save Jay» - finally his brother's soft voice sounded.- «And not only him, but the whole city.»

Pulling away from the embrace, Kai put his hand on his sister's shoulder

- «And now let's rest. Tomorrow is going to be a hard day for us»

After these words, Nya only now realized how tired she was after the battle with Kalmaar. So, without any objections, she went to the sofa where Jay was lying. As she got closer to him , she heard his hoarse breathing . His fair skin has become paler, and a grimace of suffering is reflected on his usually cheerful face

This kind of beloved hurt Nya. Taking his hand, she said softly:

- «Don't worry, I'll fix it. Just be patient a little bit more»

The sun began to rise over ninjago. And in one building, everyone was sleeping, except for the fire ninja. Kai looked out the window at the city where people used to walk, cars drove, but now it is flooded and from now on only marine life can live here.

The mere thought of water sent goosebumps through Kai's body. He was always afraid of water after an incident in childhood, but no matter how it scared him, the water also attracted Him.

Maybe because he was the son of a water master.

Standing up , Kai looked around the room

Cole was sleeping on the table as if there was nothing and he still wondered why Chen had provided him with a bed made of stone. Not far from him was Lloyd , who even in his sleep did not take the seriousness off his face . Zane was lying on the floor, who refused to sleep anywhere else except the floor, citing the fact that he was not comfortable. There was a Pixel on the billiard table.

Wu took the lotus position, Kai always wondered how he could sleep in this position.

The furthest from that was Bento

Kai looked in the direction where Nya was lying. She was fast asleep, holding Jay's hand as if afraid that he might disappear. Jay's face showed how he was experiencing incredible torment.

Kai won't let him die, won't let Nya sacrifice herself. They should all live.

Kai knew what he had to do, but Nya wouldn't like it, and neither would the rest.

And now he was standing on the roof, and the waves were rippling below. They were so free, doing whatever they wanted.

Kai looked at the door for the last time, he wants to say so much to his family, but only one thought comes to mind.

- «I love you guys».

Turning away, Kai jumped into the water without hesitation

It was cold, but strangely enough, a sense of security came over him. It was so nice. Kai hadn't felt that for a long time.

He began to absorb the power of the water, and it was a completely different feeling when he himself allows the water to penetrate into himself, and not vice versa.

Meanwhile , in the building with Jay , water began to come out of the lungs .

- «Jay.»-Nya exclaimed in shock, waking everyone up with her scream.

- «What's going on with him?» - Lloyd looked at his comrade with concern.

-«The water is coming out of his lungs,»- Zane replied incredulously, as if he didn't believe what was happening right now.

-«Nya, you did it.»- Cole looked at his friend, puzzled.

- «It's not me», - Nya could not understand only she could control the water, only if...

- «Wait, is it Kai?» - - Lloyd pointed to the window where the vortex in which the fire ninja was located was visible

- «No.»- Bento immediately shouted

Oh, no. She should have realized that Kai would do something. And now she's paying for it.

-«What is he doing?»- Wu asked without taking his eyes off Kai

-«He is trying to merge with the sea, but only this is a one–way ticket» - Bento looked sadly at Nya. – «We will lose him forever.»

No, she won't let that happen.

-«We need to stop him as soon as possible before it's too late,»- after saying that, Wu quickly headed for the door, followed by the others, except for Nya and Jay

As soon as the door slammed shut, the whirlwind stopped, and Kai appeared, or rather, what was left of him. Nya gasped at what she saw. His physical body changed and became more like water. While Kai was looking at his new uniform, Nya managed to go to the window, putting her palm to the glass.

Noticing his sister, Kai swam up to her. He also placed his palm against the glass opposite her palm. Before Nya could say anything, the smile disappeared from her brother's face and was replaced by a serious expression. Turning away from her, Kai quickly swam away, which threw New back.

«Kai!» - she exclaimed desperately and, wasting no time, headed for the roof.

By the time Wu and the others got through, it was too late

-«Kai, Come back»- Wu desperately shouting to the departing student

- «It's too late. He has already merged with the sea,»- Bento said softly

«He went after Kalmaar.»- Everyone turned to Ny, who was standing near the door- «Kai intends to finish him off.»

-«And I'm going to help him,»- Jay's voice was heard behind her

- «Jay, how are you feeling?» - from all this situation, she forgot about him.

- «It couldn't be better.» - he tried to smile, but instead he was pierced by a sharp cough.

-«You 're barely standing on your feet» -, Wu said worriedly

- «I don't care, I've already decided everything.» - Jay looked at everyone piercingly. His determination was written all over his face

-« Well, then what are we waiting for.» - Nya putting her hand on her boyfriend 's shoulder .- «It's not just Kayu who's having fun.»

- «OK.» - Wu smiled at them both –« Then we are with you.»

AU where Cole and Lloyd are actually brothers???

Bios and Timeline under the cut

Timeline info before Pilot

Cole was born to Lord Garmadon and Misako Brookstone.

When he was a baby, Misako took Cole (named Nickel) to her sister Lilly and her husband Lou to hide him from Garmadon.

He was renamed Colin Bucket to conceal his real identity.

Cole inherits Garmadon's Dark powers but doesn't succumb to the evil (he's too good for that).

Garmadon is defeated and sent to the Underworld, Misako disappears pregnant yet again.

She gives birth to Lloyd and leaves him to caretakers of Darkley's School for Bad Boys. Where he eventually runs away from being neglected/bullied by his classmates and teachers.

When Lilly died, Lou shut out Cole/Colin and such, Cole runs away and joins Sensei Wu (who knows who Cole is).

Cole learns he has two elements but doesn't understand where he got the Dark power from. Wu doesn't tell him.

Zane joins second and becomes friends with Cole, and Jay later on.

Pilot

Nya joins as Kai is the one to be kidnapped, Nya becomes the Water Ninja.

Kai is rescued and begins to supply the ninja with weapons.

Kai learns a little later to control his fire.

Season 1

Lloyd is added after Pythor abandons Lloyd.

Cole and Lloyd bond over their parents abandoning them.

Lou reveals that Cole isn't his bio son when they win (and lose) the Blade Cup to the Snakes, and Cole is upset.

Wu comes clean to Cole and Lloyd, and Cole finds out he inherited the Darkness from Garmadon.

Garmadon isn't told that Cole is his first son, as Cole refuses to let him know (and Lloyd promises not to tell).

Season 2

Cole still has his Dark powers (much to the annoyance of the other ninja).

Lloyd isn't hit by the Tomorrow Tea, he was safe behind the desk when the tea hit the ninja and he gets to stay a kid.

Lloyd is still the green ninja, but he gets to train alongside Kai (who gets to be Samurai X and the early in-training red ninja).

Cole finds to be immune to the Overlord's Dark Matter and uses it to help the other Ninja negate the Dark Matter from corrupting them.

Season 3

Lloyd and Cole are together with Garmadon (after Cole finally reveals to be his first son) as their Light/Dark powers can power the Overlord Virus.

Jay breaks up with Nya over the Perfect Match, but he's not angry at Cole since the black ninja isn't there to aggravate anything.

Pythor captures Lloyd and uses his power to reform himself. Cole and Garmadon escape.

Zane still sacrifices himself to save everyone and is destroyed.

Pixel eventually finds out her half of the core Zane gave her has his remaining memories/AI and rebuilds him. They get kidnapped.

Season 4

The remaining ninja mourn.

Jay works for Cyrus Borg and notices Pixal missing.

Cole and Lloyd are with Garmadon rebuilding his dojo.

Kai and Nya are back at Four Weapons planning the rebuilding of the monastery.

They all remeet at Chen's Noodles due to the request of Jay (and Cyrus Borg worried over Pixal's disappearance).

They get invited to the tournament, and Lloyd is told to stay out cause he's a kid. Kai stays out since he doesn't have his fire powers in full effect yet.

Lloyd tells Wu and Garmadon (and Kai) about the tournament. So Garmadon of course tags along.

Chen sends goons to capture Lloyd, and Kai gets the heck outta dodge with the kiddo.

Jay and Skylor. Yeah, I'm doing this. They meet and hit it off much to Nya's annoyance (rly it's fear).

Kai and Lloyd infiltrate Chen's island with Dareth.

Skylor betrays her father to save the ninja, and she and Jay get together.

Season 5

Cole and Lloyd go to the museum to goof off and get caught by Morro possessing a guard.

Cole gets possessed and Lloyd barely escapes to warn the ninja when Morro arrives.

Cole's Darkness basically corrupts Morro and the ghosty boy gets worse. Morro starts exerting more energy than he can control (how Cole gets his ghostly scar).

The ninja have to work against the clock, as Morro begins to lose control over Cole's body and his mind.

Nya sees the future vision with her and Jay. And yeah, she feels guilty now.

When the Preeminent gets free, Morro is sapped of all his energy and no longer controls Cole.

Instead of Wu giving up Morro, Nya shakes off the Preeminent's hold of Morro and saves the wind ghost.

Season 6

Nya is torn that Jay has moved on and is unsure how to approach the visions from the Tomb of The First Spinjitzu Master.

Kai tells her to either get the guts to talk or live with the "what-if" for the rest of her life.

Nya makes the wish with Nadakhan for things in her life to go right for once. Her parents... are back. But they're completely different from what they actually are.

Four Weapons is now a Ninjago-wide business and very successful, making Kai and Nya very rich.

Oh and- Nadakhan gives to someone in this AU, but to give... he has to take.

So Jay loses his loving parents and becomes stressed out cause his bio dad just died.

Nya slips up with her second wish was to "be there" for Jay. Jay in turn has Skylor break up with him, and Nya guiltily comforts him.

Nya admits her wishes to Morro. He's pretty pissed but convinced that Nya will tell the truth.

Zane is whisked up and Nya's secret gets revealed after Morro loses his patience.

Cole is kidnapped by Nadakhan since he has the Spider Widow venom (but Jay switched it up).

Nya, Jay, Morro, and Lloyd are left to rescue the others. But soon it's just Nya and Jay.

They finally talk about everything that's happened since Season 3 and Nya tells Jay about the mirror vision. Jay is surprised.

Nya is captured and Jay escapes, and Jay brings his secondary team to rescue everyone.

Nadakhan and Jay are struck with the venom and Jay dies.

Nya uses her last wish to reverse everything. And since they are the ones to remember the erased timeline, they talk more and decide to stay friends.

Season 7

The Hands of Time are reunited and Kai is not a happy puppy.

Cole and Jay are kidnapped with the other civilians of Ninjago, but they use that to their advantage.

Zane and Pixal team up (while Zane is still loopy) to team up with Nya and Kai to search for clues about their parents.

Kai finally gets full control over his powers to master the treachery of the Boiling Sea with Nya.

Krux and Acronix are sent back into the time loop, they pop out without Wu in a time far past the ninja. In fact, nothing is left, they're on the Dark Island and can never return.

Morro decides to take a break from the ninja to haunt the twins.

Season 8

Lloyd is finally growing up! With his powers developing something weird with him, Cole decides that Lloyd needs a one-on-one lesson to control his golden powers.

Duty calls to protect the Emperor and Empress of Ninjago, and Princess Harumi. Lloyd crushes on her, but Harumi crushes on Cole.

The group deals with the SOG, and Cole is separated from the ninja and stuck with Harumi.

Turns out Cole's Dark powers are what they need to harvest to resurrect LORD Garmadon!

Cole finally loses control of his Darkness as Lord Garmadon returns, and the og4 ninja (and Baby Wu) get whisked away to the First Realm.

Lloyd and the others are stuck behind to build the Resistance.

Season 9

Lloyd loses his powers too (cause Baby Wu snatched them back, jerk >:( ). And the Resistance builds slowly.

The 4 and Baby Wu get back to Ninjago thanks to Cole and Wu's balance elements getting them (and Faith) to safety.

As Wu returns, Lloyd regains his powers.

Lord Garmadon is defeated and Cole regains his dark powers.

Season 10

The Oni attack and swallow Ninjago in the fog.

Cole still seemingly falls to his death, but survives (being unconscious long enough, his lungs got used to the corrupted air so he didn't notice anything wrong at all when he woke up).

Lloyd and Lord Garmadon go to destroy the Realm Crystal but that doesn't work.

Cause I wanna make this a whole season, here's what's new:

Cole escapes underground to find the Snake tribes had taken in survivors of the Oni attack and is now hiding. Cole teams up with Skales and the other leaders to stop the Oni from breaching the underground.

The ninja mourn Cole and reforge the golden armor back into the golden weapons.

Cole and the snakes find out that deep in the caves of the Once Great Devourer, a mirror strong enough to pierce the Oni fog lays. It was used previously to give the Great Devourer warmth to slumber through the years.

Cole and the Snakes plan to move the mirror above ground to stop the Oni.

The mirror is set, so Cole goes ahead and gets the drill to get back in contact with the ninja, but can't get ahold of them so he speeds off back to the monastery.

The Oni attack the monastery, and everyone is reunited. Cole tells them about the mirror plan and everyone is for it.

Cole, Nya, and Zane hurry back to the Snakes to get the mirror positioned while the rest empty the monastery to get away from the Oni army.

Back in Ninjago City (after dropping off the survivors), they use their elemental powers to create the Tornado of Creation. And the advance of the giant mirror greatly weakening the Oni, they defeat them.

Lloyd still wakes up the FSM and chooses to go back and still be the green ninja.

The season ends with Lloyd and Cole finally having that one-on-one lesson about balancing their powers.

Jay and Skylor get engaged. Nya happily being Sky's maid of honor, and Zane being the Best Man.

Kai and Pixal get to catch the bouquet.

Morro comes back after haunting Krux and Acronix to look for his successor.

Everyone is happy.

(I'm unsure whether to keep going with the season until Season 14 but I'm happy with going up to Season 10 right now. Might reblog/edit with the later seasons in due time.)

I’ve been rewatching Ninjago out of nostalgia and I’m currently finishing Season 3 which is actually?? Decent?? I know the reason it probably leaves a sour taste in a lot of people’s mouths is the Nya love triangle and the villains could’ve been better but it feels like this is the season that the plot kicks it up a notch?

Like don’t get me wrong, I grew up rewatching Season 1 the most and love it even if some aspects haven’t aged well *cough*everyonemakingfunofZaneforwearingpink*cough*

Season 2 I think has a great first half (the idea that Garmadon purposefully tries to thwart the Ninja in ways to prevent his son from reaching his full potential so they don’t have to fight is interesting) but it’s second half feels disconnected and even rushed a bit for what was supposed to be the series finale

The fight scenes are also just painful to watch and I laugh at how much of the time there’s like a group of them watching an one-on-one battle without making an effort to like,, help that person out

My favorite instance of this is when Cole tells Kai to take on the Stone Warrior in the museum like?? Why wouldn’t all of you fight him?? Why Kai specifically??

Side note, I love how the Overlord was clearly supposed to be the most ultimate evil bad guy ever and how much of an emphasis they made on “Oh remember this past season 1 event? Can’t believe this is our final battle!” *proceeds to make thirteen more seasons*

But with Season 3 it’s like

Ok yeah the Ninja becoming teachers in-between seasons when they’re supposedly still teenagers is weird which also keeping S4 in mind i refuse to see them as anything but in their early twenties excluding Lloyd

Yeah Nya deserved so much better this season. Like really between Season 2 where she received barely any action as Samuari X and the love triangle, I don’t know what is worse but at least it felt like she received more screen-time

Yeah Evil Wu could’ve probably been explored more and it would’ve been more interesting if he actually,, spoke

Yeah it doesnt make any sense the Ninja knew the Serpentine had been stuck in the tunnels or the Serpentine saying they locked themselves in the tombs when later seasons contradict this but thats just Ninjago for you

But even including all that there’s some really great stuff like!

The decision to split Lloyd and the other ninja up actually works out well?? It gives a chance for the Original Four to shine on their own and for Lloyd to be still the super important Chosen One

Which then the writers gave us Lloyd and Garmadad bonding time which was so great

The fact they decided to make Sensei Garmadon swear off fighting and weapons makes him so interesting?? He will very much fvck you up but by allowing you to be the person to fvck yourself up

The whole interaction he and Wu had regarding protecting Ninjago’s future was great and you know the writers were cowards that feared if they didn’t kill Sensei Garmadon off that he’d prevent Wu from hiding secrets which is like 90% of where the suspense in Ninjago stems from

If you ignore how dumb the love triangle is, I do love the fact like others pointed out, it very much seems the reason Cole even starts showing an interest in Nya is because he does it out of spite for Jay getting upset at something he wasn’t even aware of

I love Cyrus Borg--his excitement about the future of technology is infectious and I love how easily the writers could’ve had him against Pixel leaving his side and instead Cyrus encouraged her to go do what she wanted

The poor man does get captured and cyborgified twice in one season oof

Zane’s and Pixel’s relationship is actually pretty cute?? It’s literally the plot of Wall-E but I don’t care it’s still cute, whether you see it as romantic or platonic.

The idea of an evil eldritch spirit like the Overload being a computer virus isn’t that bad of an idea. I mean, he’s still a ridiculously weak villain but it’s still cool.

The ninja go to space!!! Is it absolutely ridiculous? Yeah, but it happened and I still think it’s hilarious it happened.

And then Zane’s sacrifice at the end?? It doesn’t matter if you know he comes back, it still hurts!

Also! The music is good?? Like S1 and S2 had decent music but it’s even better here?? Especially the Weekend Whip remix. This lego show’s music should not be as good as it is at times.
