one of my favorite scenes in the lord of the rings so far is in flotsam and jetsam where merry and pip are excitedly showing everyone the massive stores of weed they found and the hobbits + gimli and aragorn are dead ready to hotbox this ruined room in the evil wizard’s fortress so legolas tries to dip by using the most elfy, non-appealing-to-anyone-else-there excuse of “hey guys i’m gonna go watch the clouds have fun :)” but then everyone’s like “holy shit that’s a great idea” so they all go chill outside and chainsmoke while legolas just lies there

can’t tell if it’s hilarious because legolas’ plan to avoid the smokers was completely foiled or super sweet because everyone was like “aww let’s include our non-pothead friend <3″ but either way I love it
