“just a second, kitten and then I’m all yours.” Haechan said winking as he poured the green liquid into the bowl.
“But I want you now.” You whined, wrapping your arm around him from behind, causing him to let out a chuckle.
“Ki-” He was cut off by a moan escaping his mouth, caused by your lips attacking his neck.
“Baby please.” You said as you continued kissing his neck, trailing kisses from his jaw to his collarbone then to his ear.
“Do your evil witch brew later, I want attention.” You whispered into his ear as he smirked.
“Needy for attention? What are you? Me?” He asked as you chuckled before making walking in front of him and pushing him down onto the couch before sitting on his lap and cupping his face.
“Kitten needs Hyuck.” You said as he slid his tongue across the inside of his cheek.
“And Hyuck needs kitten, but Hyuck also needs to finish the “evil witch brew”, as you called it.” He smirked at you and gestured you to get up. You shook your head and demanded that he gave you attention, as the potion could wait.
“So eager.” he laughed as he placed his hands on your hips and started guiding you to roll your hips.
“I was under the impression that you liked that.” You whispered into his ear before attacking his neck again.
“Can I?” You asked as he nodded, pulling the shirt away from his shoulder so you could have easier access.
“Make it quick, kitten, I’m already getting hard.” His words only made your hips speed up as you sunk your fangs into his skin.
Meanwhile
"Calm down, I didn’t take her!” Olor defended himself as Jeno held Renjun back.
“Then where is she? Last time I checked you were the one who kidnaps people!” Renjun yelled, pointing a finger at the man.
“Renjun, calm down. If he says he didn’t take her than he didn’t.” Jeno defended his uncle.
“He’s right. The prophesy did say listen to the swan.” Jaemin agreed.
“How are you so calm? Your girlfriend is missing for fucks sake! She could be in dang-” “Don’t you think I know that?!” Jaemin yelled, cutting off Renjun, the volume of his scream scaring everyone in the room.
He sighed and ran out of the room with Mark slowly following him.
“Jaemin?” Mark asked.
“I can’t do it.” Jaemin confessed.
“I want to be able to help her, but I can’t.” He added, tears forming in his eyes.
“Jaemin, hey, you can do this. You can help her! Remember the last line and what Olor said? The one might refer to a soulmate, and-?” Mark asked, putting a hand on his shoulder.
“What if I’m not and I end up looking like an idiot.” Jaemin said. “What if it ends up being Jeno? or Renjun? What if it doesn’t even refer to a soulmate? What if it ends up being Haechan? What if I’m just kidding myself? What if someone else ends up being her sou-”
“Jaemin, if not you, then who?” There was a moment of silence before Mark spoke up again.
“Jaemin, If anyone is capable of being the hero-”
“I’m not a hero. I’m just the guy who made a move at the right time. I can't be what other people want me to be. What she want's me to be. This is who I am. I'm not human and I miss it, I miss it more than anything in the world. When I was human, I didn’t feel this much, I was normal, I didn’t need to be a hero, I could have just been Na Jaemin, regular 19 year old.” He cut him off whipped away his tears.
“Hey, I get it. I was on my way to becoming a writer, I even got into my dream uni, but I found out I wasn’t just a regular teen at the time, but if you don’t try then...” “Then what?” “Fight for her. Or spend the rest of eternity trying to figure out what happened to the best part of you. It’s your choice.” Mark said before leaving Jaemin alone on the front porch.
Renjun and Jeno were still inside the house as Olor spoke up.
“So, you both like her too, huh?”
“What?” Jeno and Renjun said in unison.
“Don’t worry, I figured it out on my own. Besides, I’m pretty sure everyone else is aware at this point as well.” Olor said.
“We’re just friends.” They both said again as Olor gave them a questioning look.
“Jeno?” He asked.
“She was by my side when I needed a friend. She made me laugh. She made me dance. She told me that I would find love again… And, I understood if I had to wait for her, and I would. I’d wait. And when she would be ready for me, I would be ready for her, but that day will never come.” Jeno explained.
“Renjun?” Olor asked.
“I’m in love with a woman I can never have. The point, I’m in love with her and its driving me crazy. I’m not in control. I have to stay together to protect her and she wants me to be the better man. Which means I can’t be who I am, a control freak who is a confused mess.” Renjun explained.
“Not a word of any of this to Jaemin, please. He’s already beating himself up for not protecting her enough.” Jeno plead to his uncle as Olor nodded.
“How did you know?” Renjun asked.
“The way you looked at her, it was how I use to look at her mother.” Olor chuckled making them both wide eyed.
“So you were in love with her mother while her dad, your best friend was dating her, or?” Jeno asked.
“Don’t use that tone with me, you’re doing the same.” His uncle defended.
“Yes, I guess their bloodline is just destined to be a girl stuck between two brothers.” Olor chuckled.
“Did Richard also like her?” Jeno asked.
“Yup.” Olor explained.
“Damn, what’s in their gene pool.” Renjun commented, trying to lighten the mood.
Meanwhile
“We need to speed it up.” Richard said.
“Minsoo, make a call to Haechan and y/n.” He added.
“Yes, sir.” Minsoo said, looking at the floor.
“Why are you so sulky?” Richard asked “Maybe because I don’t want all werewolves to die, my sister is one?” Minsoo said in a matter-of-fact tone.
“Listen, if you do as I say, I’ll think of sparing Jisoo, how bout that?” Richard said “Promise?” Minsoo asked.
“Promise. See? I can be nice.” Richard smiled to himself as he gestured to get to the task he was assigned.
“Oh, and you know the deal. Not a word to anyone or else we will start with Jisoo.” Richard reminded as Minsoo left the room, fighting the tears.
a/n: i told yall minsoo was baby! anyway, norenmin are all big sad while haechan be getting it, oh how the tables have turned. If you’ve watched any of series from the vampire diaries franchise, you may have heard some of these quotes a lot and i’m planning on using more bc i love them and some of them really do fit.

So Close
Title: So Closed (A dangerous fantasy) Word Count: 1414 Pairings: Patton/NPC - Prince Ronan, (group calls it Royal Cookies) Main Characters: Patton Arri, Prince Ronan of Selene Other Characters: - Warnings: mild panic attack, foreplay Story Summary: Based on the TS D&D AU on Tik tok (#TSDNDAU). Minor spoilers for upcoming videos Patton Arri has just announced that he’s a prince, and he and Roman are engaged, all to keep Roman safe from his family. Unfortunately for the young cleric, all of that happened after meeting Roman’s sweet older brother Ronan and now the two can’t be together. But one night...wouldn’t be the end of the world, right?
...In the light of day things can change from slim to none... ... I don't wanna be this Nobody needs to see this I try to resist But the light's getting low to a glow 'till you're touching my lips… ...Wanna go but I wouldn't I wanna stay when I shouldn't I wanna say no when I couldn't… ...So meet me in the dark Kiss me in the shadows of every spark I know we shouldn't start… ...Meant to be Or maybe just a dangerous fantasy...
At the soonest possible chance, Patton left the ball, and the rest of his party, behind in favor of the quiet of the room he had been given while they were in Selene’s castle. It was only once he was safely in the darkness of his room that the half-elf allowed himself to break down. He sunk to the floor, silent sobs wracking his body as he hugged himself. He knew that he had done the right thing; helping Roman get free from what his family had tried to plan for him, but it had been at the cost of not only Patton’s happiness, and freedom, but Roman’s older brother, Ronan’s happiness too. The heartbreak in the other prince’s eyes that night had killed Patton. There was a knock at his door but he ignored it, hands going to his mouth to stifle his sobs just incase whoever was on the other side was one of the more perceptive members of his party. “Pat?” Roman called out, voice worried and stressed. “Pat, are you in there?” He shook his head fiercely. He couldn’t face the young human right now. He heard him sigh and heard his footfalls as he walked away.
As his tears dried up, the cold silver of his circlet seemed to feeze against his burning skin. He ripped the fragile headpiece off and threw it across the room, hearing it clatter across the floor and hit the wall. He wanted nothing to do with that part of his life. Not right now. The only reason he had admitted anything was to help Roman; otherwise, that part of his life would have stayed hidden away for a long time. Forever if he had any say in the matter. He didn’t know how long he just knelt on the floor, no longer crying but too drained to move. He heard but didn’t acknowledge when others tried to check on him. Emile, Virgil...He felt bed ignoring them both but he just couldn’t face them right now. He couldn’t deal with the questions or...pity. Luckily, in Patton’s eyes, neither DC or L’ogan tried to visit him. He had seen the change in L’ogan when the full elf had learned that Patton was a prince, and hated it. And DC would just call him an idiot for doing this. Patton didn’t need that right now. It was only when a very soft knock came from his door followed by an almost impossible to hear, “Patton?” that the young man stood and moved to the door. He paused with his hand on the doorknob. “Patton, I know you’re in there. Please?” the voice on the other side cracked a little and that broke Patton from his frozen position. He turned the handle and slowly opened the door to look at the young prince. Ronan shared features with his younger brother, but not enough where they looked too alike. Ronan’s jaw was sharper, his nose a little longer. Roman’s eyes were darker then the ones Patton found himself currently staring into. And Roman, as much as Patton cared for him, could never make his heart skip several beats and his breath catch in his chest just by smiling at him, fingers brushing over his own. “Ronan…” He whispered, “You shouldn’t be here.” despite his words, his fingers laced with the human’s pulling him a step closer. “Roman was worried about you…As was I.” Patton glanced out into the empty hallway before pulling Ronan in and shutting the door behind him. “I’m fine.” he lied, not meeting Ronan’s gaze. He heard the other man sigh softly and then felt fingers on his chin, lifting his face up to look at him. He leaned into the warm touch, closing the distance between them with a step forward. “You don’t have to lie, Patton. It’s just you and me.” His other hand went to the small of his back and pulled him the rest of the distance, so he could hold him against himself. Patton just clung to Ronan and the two stood like that for several minutes, neither speaking. Slowly he tilted his head up and dragged Ronan’s head down until their lips met, kissing him as if his life depended on it. The two kissed in the middle of the dark room, only the moon coming in from the window providing any light. Patton pulled away, breathing heavy and eyes dark. The younger man looked down at him, not letting him pull too far away. “I don’t want to leave you like this,” Ronan said softly, pushing the blue-brown hair from Patton’s face “Then don’t.” Patton took his hands and walked backward to the bed, sitting down and pulling Ronan on top of him, kissing him again. His hands tangled in his hair, keeping their lips pressed together. Slowly he coaxed his tongue between the prince’s lips, deepening the kiss. He tugged a little on Ronan’s hair, shivering at the moan that pulled from the man. He knew he shouldn’t be doing this. He knew it was wrong. He knew, he knew, he knew. He hated knowing. He wanted to not know. He wanted to just be in this moment. With a handsome man on top of him, pressing into him in such a delicious way. What was wrong with that? Nothing. He growled a little and flipped them over on the bed so that he could pin Ronan under him, hips rolling slightly as his hands moved to hold the other’s above his head. He moved his lips from the other’s mouth, kissing down his jaw, then down his neck, using his chin to push the collar of his jacket away so he could start to mark the skin at his collarbone. The soft gasps and moans were music to the cleric’s ears.
When he was sure there was a mark for Ronan to remember him by for a few days, he pulled away, looking down at the man under him. His skin was flushed, the pupils of his eyes blown wide, lips swollen, hair messily splayed on the bed… Goddess, Patton had missed making someone look like that. He felt the knot that had been in his stomach uncoil a little as he leaned down to kiss him again. “You look so good.” He murmured, one hand moving to trail along Ronan’s chest, slowly undoing the buttons of his jacket as he went. How much was going to be too much for Ronan? It was clear to Patton that he had never been with a guy before, but he was less sure about if he had been with anyone before. And while Patton’s first time had been a one night stand, and he didn’t find anything wrong with them, he also believed that a first time for someone like Ronan should be...better than this. He gentled his kiss, hand just resting over the human’s heart instead of exploring the other’s body more. He slowly pulled back, moving to lay next to Ronan instead of on top of him. Ronan made a noise of protest and tried to pull him back on top of him. Patton just smiled gently and took his hand, lacing their fingers together. “It wouldn’t be fair to either of us to do that.” he murmured, kissing his wrist. “But please don’t leave…” He slowly moved to hold the taller male against his chest, chin resting atop his head. If Ronan really wanted to leave, Patton wouldn’t stop him. But he wanted him to stay so badly. Roman grumbled something about Patton being a tease that Patton ignored as he felt arms wrap around him and hold him close. He relaxed, smiling gently.
He listened as Ronan drifted off to sleep, his breathing evening out and lulling Patton to sleep as well.
And for the first time in months, the young man slept the whole night through, finding comfort in sleeping next to someone else again.

“Bellamy!”
Running through the crowd of people, you felt relief flood you at the sight of Bellamy. He looked tired but you didn’t care much as you ran to give him a hug. He easily accepted your embrace, sighing into your hair. You hadn’t known the level of danger his mission had held, but none of that matter. Ever since you both came to terms with your feelings, everything worried you.
You didn’t want to lose him.
You’d missed your father being by Bellamy’s side until you heard a cough, and leaning back from the embrace you found your father staring at the two of you unimpressed. Swallowing thickly, you lean slightly back from the hug as Bellamy looked away bashfully. You hadn’t even thought to tell your father of your new-found relationship with everything that had happened. But now thinking about it, that would’ve been a smart idea.
“Welcome back.” Kane greeted to Bellamy who only nodded his head.
Your attention was brought away from the awkward encounter to the sound of thunder. Looking up, you felt raindrops falling and heard the soft sound of pitter-patter. Though your moment of peace was quickly taken away when you felt your skin burn at the touch of the raindrop. Hissing in pain, you turned your head down. “Black rain,” you mumbled looking over at your father and Bellamy.
“Everybody inside!”
“Black rain! Sound the alarm!”
Shouting in warning, you moved away from the middle of the crowd, pushing people towards the Ark, as did a few of your friends. “Get inside!” You bellowed out. “This is not a drill! Get in the Ark!” You felt someone grab your shoulder, puling you towards themselves as they threw a jacket over you. Looking up you found Bellamy before you. He must have just left your father’s side, because you also saw Kane leaving and trying to get more Ark citizens to go inside.
“Get inside!” He ordered and you grabbed his hand; “not without you.” Pausing, Bellamy obliged and you ran inside with him, your father in tow. As soon as you reached within Arkadia, you ripped of your jacket in haste.
“Kane, someone’s outside.” Bellamy alerted and you looked up to find a man on his stomach, howling in pain. Your father and Bellamy grabbed something to cover themselves, running outside to help Louis. Pausing, you watched with worry as they went back out into the acid rain. They helped him inside and you grabbed ahold of him, passing Louis off to two men who carried him away.
Panting, you begin to take of the rest of your clothes. Chucking your shirt over your head, you threw it into the bin of water. You went to pull of your pants but Bellamy’s voice stopped you. “I need to find Octavia.” Bellamy grunted.
“She’s not here.” You shook your head.
“She took off hours ago.” Kane added, shaking his head as well as Bellamy’s face fell into panic. “I gotta find her.” Bellamy declared and you grabbed ahold of him before he could leave, looking up at him pleadingly. “Bellamy look,” your father began. “We don’t know where she went. You just got back and the rover doesn’t have enough power to go searching through the woods.”
“The rain-”
“She’s smart.” You argued. “You gotta trust she found shelter, okay?” Hesitating, you waited with anticipation until finally Bellamy nodded. Letting of him, you sighed in relief, watching as he closed the door, blocking off all sight of the outside.
“Remember the drill?” You father asked aloud. “All wet clothing in the designated zone.”
“How do we know everyone made it in?”
“My wife. She was outside the wall. I need to know if she’s okay.”
“Check in with your section advisers.” Kane informed. “We’ll get a head count as soon as we can.”
Splashing water on yourself, you breathed a sigh of relief as it soothed your skin. The minute you saw Bellamy had taken off his shirt, you helped splash water on him. He nodded in thanks, his hand softly touching your back in reassurance. Your heart was pounding madly, you felt like you could barely breathe.
“Hello? Can anyone hear me? Look, we’re caught in the rain and it burns. We’re trapped in the rubble just north of the factory crash.” Furrowing your brows, you looked over at your father in alarm. That was someone over the radio, obviously calling for help. You fell by his side as he grabbed for his radio off his jeans. “Please. Can anybody hear me?”
“This is Chancellor Kane. I can hear you.” Your father mumbled out of breath. “Can you hear me?”
“Kane. Kane. It’s Mark Colton. Look, please, my son is soaked with black rain. Please, you gotta help us. Hurry!”
-
“I’m doing this.”
“Well, you’re not doing it alone.” You spoke, walking over to your father and Bellamy with a suit much like Bellamy’s. While they’d been arguing over whether or not Bellamy should go, and doing a headcount, you’d worked on a suit. You knew however much Kane tried to pursued Bellamy not to go back out there. But you also knew he wouldn’t listen and you already knew if you tried yourself nothing would change his mind either.
So you opted for going with him instead.
Of course, your sudden addition to the plan brought Bellamy’s and your father’s attention towards yourself. “No. Absolutely not.” Your father ordered, looking over at you in concern. “Neither of you should even be going, let alone you Y/N.”
Crossing your arms, you swallowed thickly. “You can’t change my mind.” After your words, you felt a shadow fall over you and looking up you saw Bellamy. You shook your head, already knowing he was going to try to tell you to stay but you wouldn’t. Everything you do is to make sure those most important to you stay okay, that involved Bellamy more than anyone. You’d gone into Mount Weather with him and you were sure to follow him on this one.
“You can’t either, Bellamy.” You dismissed. “You need help, incase something goes wrong, I will help. We can’t just leave them out there.”
“Y/N.” Bellamy stressed, reaching out to grab your face with his gloved hands. “This is dangerous-”
“And it isn’t for you?” You argued, before your hands fell to your side. Looking up at Bellamy, you bit your lip; “i’m not letting you do this alone Bellamy.” After a moment of hesitation, reluctantly Bellamy stepped back meaning he wouldn’t argue with your decision anymore. Turning to your father, you nodded reassuringly; “i’ll be fine.”
Bellamy grabbed his hazmat off the table, and turning to you, you both shared a look before marching towards the exit doors, slipping your mask on. Once you reached it, you took a deep breath as Bellamy pushed the heavy door open. He hesitated for a moment as did you, staring at the rain that fell in soft pitter-patters. Suddenly a hand grabbed yours and turning you saw Bellamy nodding your way.
The moment you guys finished you both took a step out, calm but quick in your step. You knew your father was right behind you, but you didn’t care much. You needed to do this. As you found yourself halfway across to the rover, Bellamy groaned. Furrowing your brows you looked over at Bellamy only for him to let go of your hand to grab ahold of his own arm.
The suit wasn’t working.
The minute you realized the situation you felt a burn on your back. “Go!” You yelled, your voice muffled from the mask. You and Bellamy began running to the rover, hissing in pain as the acid rain fell on the both of you.
“Bellamy! Y/N! Turn around!”
Trying not to slip in mud, you felt a moment of relief as you both reached the rover. Bellamy swung the back door open, hefting you up himself before he climbed in after you. Quickly he shut it as you chucked off your mask, panting and groaning in pain. Ripping open the seams that kept the suit up, you slipped it off your body in haste. When you got it off Bellamy was pouring one of the water canteens over himself.
You heard your father over the radio but didn’t care as you grabbed the canteen from him and poured it over your bare arms.
“You were right. The suit’s useless.” Bellamy panted to your father over the radio. Slumping against the back of the rover, you hugged yourself. Bellamy chucked the radio away, squeezing his arms, before slipping off the rest of his suit.
“You gotta come back. Bring the rover to the airlock.”
“Bellamy, it’s Mark.” Mark came through on the radio, interrupting your father. “Are you there?” Looking over at Bellamy, you nodded to him, reaching over and grabbing the radio yourself.
“Mark, it’s Y/N.” You panted, hesitating just slightly. “I’m with Bellamy.”
“Are you on the move yet?” He asked. “Peter doesn’t look so good.”
“We’re coming. We’ll get you through this. We’re on our way.” You reassured, looking up at Bellamy who nodded your way.
“Copy that, Y/N. Thanks.”
“Y/N, go to the private channel.” Your father ordered over the radio, and hesitating you debated. But Bellamy decided for you as he crawled towards the front of the rover, grabbing the radio attached to the engine of the rover. Following in after him, you sat in the passenger’s seat, wringing your hands together.
“No more lectures.” Bellamy started, dismissing whatever your father had been about to say. “I can’t find my sister, but I do know where they are.” He dropped the radio back in place, pressing the gas and starting the rover. Before you knew it you both were backing up and Bellamy was steering the wheel towards the front gate.
“Bellamy, stop. Listen to me. You too, Y/N.” Kane spoke over the radio and Bellamy stopped moving the car, pausing. “No unnecessary risks. You come home safe.”
“We’ve got this.”
-
“Mark, come in.” You said into the radio, your eyes looking out to the forest around you. The rain was still falling heavily and you could only imagine what Mark and Peter were going through out there, with no real shelter. “Coming up on the factory station. Almost to you. Over.”
Taking your finger off the button, you waited impatiently for a reply. When you received nothing, you felt your heart plummeted. “Guys, you read me?” Again nothing. “Don’t go quiet on us now. Gonna need a little help navigating here once i’m past the wreckage.”
When there was still no reply, you looked over at Bellamy in alarm. What if you two were taking too long? What if you’d waited too long and now it was too late?
“Come on, come on, come on.” You heard Bellamy mumble and before you knew it, you felt your knee pouncing in anticipation.
Finally, you felt yourself able to breath. “Yeah, i’m here.” Mark finally answered and you noticed how his voice sounded more rough, more tired than before. You felt Bellamy wave over the radio and obliging you handed it to him. “We’re North West of the salvage area about fifteen agrees.” Though Mark nor Peter could see you, you nodded along at his instructions. “Just follow the-- Peter!”
Your eyes widened.
“What’s happening? You okay?” Bellamy immediately asked, and you felt Bellamy press down on the gas, making the rover go faster. Holding onto the front of the rover, you braced yourself.
“Peter, get below me! Y/N! Bellamy!”
“Mark, what’s going on?”
“The wind shifted, the rain’s falling in on us.” Mark explained in a rush.
“Okay, you need to find something for cover.” Bellamy instantly began explaining solutions, nodding to himself as he explained.
“There’s nothing here! Look, i’m blocking it from Peter as best as I can. Just hurry! Please!” Mark pleaded desperately, you found your eyes stuck before you, desperate to reach them all that quicker.
“Look south. You’ll see my headlights in two minutes. I’m--” A lightening flashed right before you, making you scream slightly and Bellamy jump. Instinctively he jerked the wheel to the left in panic, making you both go down some sort of trail before you felt into what felt like a ditch.
“Bellamy...” You whispered, looking over at him. Meeting your gaze, Bellamy shook his head, mumbling it’d be find before his hand landed on the gear stick. He shifted it, “come on.” Before pressing down on the gas. You heard the engine rev and the rover slightly back up before it got stuck. “Damnit.”
You shifted so you could look more closely outside of your window. It was hard with all the rain, but you could see mud building up around the edges of the rovers wheels.
Bellamy revved the engine again, and this time you both went forward only to come to the same conclusion. You were stuck. Only Bellamy continued to rev the engine, turning the wheel every which way with a small amount of hope that you’d manage to get out. It didn’t work.
“No. No!” Bellamy grunted, slamming his hand on the front of the wheel.
“Bellamy, it’s okay.” You rambled and he turned to you; “we’re stuck. How is that okay?” You didn’t know how to reply. Even though his words were harsh, he was right. None of this was okay.
“Bellamy, I don’t see your head lights.” What little hope was left dispersed when you heard Mark’s panicked voice. “Where are you?” You went to grab the radio, to help Bellamy but he snatched it before you could.
“Just- just a minor delay. Just hang on.”
“No. No! No! We can’t! No! How long?” Mark panicked and you felt guilt flood within you, your brows furrowing in worry. The sound of Mark’s desperate and alarmed voice only made this worse.
“Bellamy. What is happening?” Kane asked, as Bellamy hesitated. “Answer. What minor delay?” Taking the other radio before Bellamy could, you placed your finger on the button and pressed it against your lips. “Stuck in the mud.” Pausing, you thought about a solution to the problem. “Gonna use the winch to get us out.”
“Negative.” Kane replied within second. “Y/N, you have no suit and I can hear the rain over the radio.” Sighing heavily, you let your head fall back against the seat in frustration. Out of the corner of your eye you noticed Bellamy holding his head in his hands in despair. “Please. Please, just wait for the storm to pass. Is that clear?”
You looked over at Bellamy, waiting for his reaction on what the both of you should do. In his hands he held the other radio and just as your father finished his order, Mark began coughing loudly into the radio; “Bellamy! Peter needs help now, right now! He can’t breathe.”
“If you go into that storm, four people die instead of two.” Swallowing the nervous lump in your throat, you fell silent. You, for the first time in a long time, didn’t know what to do. “You’re out of options. It’s time to let go.”
“You’d said you’d be here. Where are you?” Your face fell at Mark’s words, as Bellamy reluctantly leaned up to talk into the radio. Seeing his hesitation, you pressed the radio to your lips; “what is Bellamy suppose to tell them?”
“The truth.”
Suddenly the rain drowned out, as if it wasn’t even there anymore. Reluctantly, you placed the radio back on the dashboard. “I can tell them...” You mumbled, looking down at your lap. You knew how hard this was for Bellamy. It was, of course, difficult for you but he’d been the one to originally suggest the idea of helping them. This had been his mission and now it was failing.
“I’ve got it.” Bellamy dismissed, keeping his eyes straight. Nodding even though you knew he wasn’t looking, you leaned back against the seat and stared at the rain you could no longer hear. “Mark. Peter... - I can’t get to you.”
“What? No! We’ll- we’ll come to you. Please, I can carry him.”
“It’s too far, Mark.” Bellamy argued, shaking his head. “You won’t make it.”
“We won’t make it out here!” Mark stressed and you closed your eyes, hating every inch of yourself and the predicament you were both in.
“Look, we-we... - I’m sorry. You just-- Your only chance is to just wait a little longer, and when the rain stops, we can dig out.”
“My son is dying! He’s dying right now! You said you’d help us. Please!” Everything shut down and you couldn’t even imagine what Bellamy was feeling right now. You clenched your hands so hard you saw your knuckles turn white and your hands cramp from the tension.
A sudden thud pulled your attention from the rain and looking over you found Bellamy smacking against the steering wheel in frustration. “No! No! No!” Your eyes widened and you immediately reached out to grab him but he shoved your hand away. “Bellamy...” You whispered out of shock. You’d never seen him like this. It was justified, and you understood why he felt the way he did but he’d never shoved at you or pushed you away like that.
Bellamy seemed to realized what he’d done, and slowly his anger dissipated and turned into disappointment as he slumped against the seat. “You did everything you could- we did everything we could.” Finally he turned his head to look at you and realizing the moment, you reached out to grab his hand. Pulling his attention completely on you, you leaned forward. “Bellamy, I know that you did everything you could. We can’t help them... and i’m sorry.”
“Peter was one of the hundred...” Bellamy trailed. “He was one of us.”
“Maybe if I hadn’t gone something would’ve gone different.” You mumbled shaking your head in disappointment. You felt Bellamy finally squeeze your hand, pulling you away from your thoughts. He gently tugged you forward and leaning over to him, his hand came up to grasp your cheek.
“No.” He argued. “I cannot thank you enough for coming. It’s not your fault.”
“Its not yours either.”
-
“Mark, Peter?”
Bouncing your knee, you waited impatiently. Willing Mark to reply, even though part of you knew he wouldn’t. “The rains on it’s way out. You still with me?” You looked over at Bellamy when no sound came. “Hey, Mark, come in. Do you read me? As soon as this rain clears, i’m out of this ditch and we’re on our way. Please tell me that you read me.”
“Bellamy...” You trailed. He’d been trying to get a reply for a while now, and still, nothing. Hearing your words, Bellamy let his finger come off the trigger and shakily, he set down the radio. You felt a tear fall as reality seemed to smack you in the face. They were dead. They’d died because you’d gotten stuck in a ditch...
“Bellamy... Y/N.” You father’s voice came over the radio, and something within you wished he hadn’t. It wasn’t as if he’d done anything, you just didn’t want to speak to him right now. And by Bellamy’s reaction, you guessed the same thing. “You both did your best...”
Bellamy grabbed the radio himself, “I failed. They’re dead.” You hated how he said only he failed, hated that he was trying to take all the blame himself. You were just as in fault as he and it hurt you to know that he was trying to lessen your pain but only adding to his own.
“It’s not your fault-”
“I can’t protect anyone.” Bellamy interrupted and your eyes flew to his, what was he talking about? “I couldn’t protect my sister. My responsibility and I failed. My mom passed out. She was there. She was in my hands. She was so helpless, and now what is she?” You felt your body freeze, your brain going numb as you heard Bellamy’s words.
“Is she even alive? What is she?-- I...”
“You didn’t fail Bellamy.” Kane spoke. “You did everything you could for her. You came to the ground for her. You can’t save someone who doesn’t want to be saved.” Bellamy shook his head and you felt disconnected from him, unsure of how to soothe him. “Your mother would be proud of the man you’ve become. I know I am.”
In your own mind you could envision the moment your mother had died. The moment you realized you’d been too late and the moment the doors open and the guards stepped through followed by your father. The way he’d slapped the handcuffs around your wrists, his own daughters wrists, and led you to your cell.
“You floated my mother.” After his words, he slammed the radio back on the dashboard, pushing it away from himself.
You didn’t know what to say.
-
“I know it took courage to be outside with us today, to stand together now in the face of grave danger and grave tragedy. On the Ark, rain like this was only a dream. Now, it’s a nightmare, because we know it could turn at any second and kill us. Just like it did to eighteen of our brothers and sisters who we honour today among them Erin, Samuel and Louis.”
You looked down at your feet, Jaha’s words echoing in your mind. “May we meet again.”
“May we meet again.” You chorused with the rest of the crowd. And soon, you felt the soft heat hit your face, Looking up, fire blazed in the reflection of your eyes as you watched your people be burned.
Looking over, you searched for Bellamy’s face only to find his head turned and his attention on Jasper. Soon enough, he was chasing after Jasper who was leisurely walking as if eighteen people didn’t just die. You couldn’t hear what was being said but soon Jasper was pulled back by Bellamy’s grasp and they were sharing a conversation.
Normally you would’ve gone after them, made sure they were okay. But something told you the both of them needed it. So, when Jasper walked off and out the gate and Bellamy’s attention turned back to you and the crowd around you, you gave a nod before looking over at the fire.
-
“You’re leaving too?”
“Y/N-” You interrupted Kane, holding your hand up. You weren’t mad that he was leaving, you knew that he had a job and his job was the be the chancellor of his people. But you didn’t know what to do, a part of you felt hopeless after everything that had happened. You were worried for Jasper and Bellamy and now your father was leaving too. “I have to...” Kane finished, giving you that look.
Dropping your folded arms, you stepped towards him. Kane sensed your discomfort and offered a hand to your cheek, soothing you slightly. “I’ll be back before you know it. Jaha has something that could help us.”
You nodded, not able to find the words. You didn’t have to because Kane asked his own question; “you and Bellamy?” The question shocked you. It definitely wasn’t something you’d expect your father to ask seeing the circumstances and the fact that he was about to leave on a mission you knew nothing about.
But, still, you answered; “he makes me happy dad.” You smiled lightly. “When we were sent down... I don’t- he just had so much passion and when he started to care that much about me, I remembered what it felt like to be loved.” You didn’t mean to bring up your rough past with your father but it was one of the reasons why you’d gotten so close to Bellamy. If Kane wanted to know, you’d tell your father the whole truth.
“You don’t have to explain yourself.” Kane nodded, smiling down at you with a gentle pat on the cheek. Stepping back, you nodded his way. “I’m just happy you’re happy.”
“Be safe.” You grinned, giving a reassuring glance.
“I’ll see you soon.”
-
“Hey.”
Bellamy turned, finding a slightly unfamiliar face of a blonde girl. He distinctly remembered her as one of the hundred, but had never really gotten the chance to talk to her. By her body language, Bellamy understood what she wanted: “Dance with me.” Bellamy bit his lip, the feeling of discomfort flooding through him.
As his eyes scanned the room Jasper was holding his ‘fun’ party in, he distinctly noticed you absent. Looking over to the quieter side his eyes found you, leaning against the wall. Bellamy’s eyes scanned your figure, the way you crossed your arms and your eyes carefully scanned the crowd of despairing citizens. He was able to see everything that had made him fall in love with you. But by the look on your face, something told him you’d seen the girl who’d just tightly pressed her side up against his, and you were less than unimpressed.
Giving the girl before him a pitiful smile, he stepped back. “Sorry.” He offered shortly, not knowing what else to say before he turned to you. You, of course, noticed from the side of your eye Bellamy walking towards you. You’d also noticed the ordeal that had just gone down. So crossing your arms, you kept your eyes straight and bit your lip.
“Hey.”
“Thought you were busy with Amanda.” You teased, looking at him from the corner of your eye.
Bellamy grinned, deciding to have some fun tonight. And you were going to join him; “that her name? Didn’t know.” He shrugged, smirking widely in your direction. Pushing lightly off the wall, you turned towards Bellamy, your hands falling just above his hips. You made sure to lean just close enough, wanting to imitate Amanda. “Dance with me.” You whispered, batting your eyelashes up at him.
Raising an eyebrow, Bellamy gripped your waist. “I’d love to.” You chuckled, shaking your head at your own silly behaviour before leaning back. You moved to walk up to Jasper who was giving you the silly eyes before you felt Bellamy grasp your hand. Smiling over at him, you walked up to Jasper.
“Good idea,” Jasper grinned. “Let someone else save the world for once.” Handing you the drink he’d made for you, Bellamy and himself, Jasper laughed and you felt strangely compelled to join him. You all chugged it in one gulp, your face scrunching at the taste. When you pulled back Jasper bellowed in enjoyment and you laughed, smacking him lightly on the arm.
Jasper turned to Harper and you felt Bellamy’s eyes on you. Turning to him, you decided to tease him; “I didn’t know you knew how to party.” Walking up to him, you placed your pointer finger on his chest. “Always so serious.” You scrunched your face, trying not to laugh at your own silliness.
Bellamy pulled you against him, leaning down to your hear; “let me show you how much fun I can be.”
“Woah,” you giggled, pushing lightly on his chest. “I believe you promised me a dance?” Raising an eyebrow, you stepped back, holding the hand connected to his up as you began making your way to the spacious room. Bellamy rolled his eyes at your persuasion, but nonetheless complied and soon you were both chest to chest, dancing sillily to the song playing in the background.
“Everything okay?” You heard Bellamy ask as you leant your head against his chest. Groaning, you shook your head. “I don’t wanna worry about yesterday or the days before, I don’t want you to worry about anything. I want tonight, what little time of peace we have, to just be me, you and us.”
“Sounds good to me.” Bellamy shrugged and you smiled brightly.
Before you knew it you were being spun, you laughed loudly in enjoyment. You couldn’t remember the last time you’d been able to relax like this. It reminded you of when it’d just be you and your mom home, and she’d play some strange song on the tiny junky radio you had but you both wouldn’t care. You’d just laugh and dance and spin. It was one of your favourite moments with her.
You chuckled as you tipsily fell against Bellamy’s chest, looking up at him before leaning up to press a kiss against his cheek. He hugged you back, and before you knew it you were being spun once again. In the moment of that night you lost track of time and sense. Drink after drink. Dance after dance. Chat after chat.
But no part of you that night, cared.
