came here for light dinner last month, it’s been quite a long time sine i last ate at putien, i do remember their signature di8shes are quite nice, but the price of the food here is pretty high as well. as we came at non peak hours, the restaurant was almost empty.

we ordered the signature deep fried pork trotters with salt and pepper and claypot fish soup with the signature tie guan yin tea. the pork trotter is pretty small, so one person could actually eat one and it is very crispy on the outside. the salt and pepper flavor is quite addictive and there’s just so much collagen to enjoy. the soup taste very good as well, fish flavor is deep and fried yam is also added, so it has a rich but refreshing feel, very warm and hearty, i really enjoy this very much.

their tea smells very good and the taste is really crisp and enjoyable too, and you may refill quite a lot of times and it still remains fragrant. overall food is enjoyable since everything we ordered is popular and considered their signature dishes. the food quality may justify the steep price but this is definitely a once in the blue moon thing.

Fei Fan Hotpot is a Hong Kong styled hotpot which serves unique soups and specially made meat such as their signature white pork bone broth, fresh tender sliced pork and beef, homemade meatballs, shrimp dumplings and springy udon noodles.

was here couple weeks back for lunch, and it was so crowded, didn’t have an empty table at first and the staffs were too busy to entertain any requests. but luckily someone was leaving, so we got a table. didn’t know this place got so popular over the years, it used to be a quiet place to chill for me back in the days..

i ordered pan fried salmon served on garlic fried rice, which came with two tempura prawns and some scrambled eggs as well, which was really yummy and appetizing, love all the items inside the bowl and it was plenty and satisfying.

after that, we ordered cakes - watermelon cake and tiramisu, was just having a craving so two cakes! XD they were nice and enjoyable, and cravings satisfied finally.. though it was quite pricey, i didn’t remember that the cakes here were expensive, oh well.. it’s once in a blue moon kind of thing.

service staff definitely worked really hard, as the cafe is completely packed, and they were quick on their feet, maybe going there on weekdays would be a better option if you want to chill quietly as it was definitely very lively during our visit.
