While watching “The Clothes Don’t Make The Turtle,” I noticed something.

I found it interesting that Raph, Mikey, and Leo were content with Raph’s outfit choice until Donnie stated that he wasn’t “in love with it, ya’ know.”

Suddenly, Raph declares “I’m a disaster!” Albeit ridiculously endearing, it was a little strange to see his sudden shift from moderately content to absolute dissatisfaction. Huh…

Then, the disaster twins decide to help him out.

Take a note of their outfit choices.

Raph tries on all of these fits and more.

Donnie’s first choice is a mild “no.” Leo’s choice is a hard “NO.” (Not surprising, lol.) But then, the overwhelming consensus lands on Raph’s fourth outfit, which ended up being Donatello’s other pick for his brother.

So, in summary, Raph tried on his personal choice for an outfit, of which they rejected. Then, ultimately, Donatello picked out an outfit for his brother, and that pick ended up being perfect. Hmm…

Then I noticed something else. In this episode, we never get a Donnie “curtain reveal” moment, to our disdain. I mean, Raph, Leo, and Mikey got to try on several different outfits in order to get their brothers' opinions before landing on that “perfect outfit, you know the one.” All of his brothers got to shine. Why not DonTron?

Then it hit me.

The try-ons were to get their brothers' opinions and approval. And, for his brothers' choices, he was a major contributor in assisting them in pulling their looks together.

What if, bear with me, Donnie didn’t need the "curtain scene" because he was so confident in his fashion sense that he didn’t need to ask his brothers for help to pick out a great look.

…or they figured out how to break Hypno’s spell before he could get a “curtain reveal.” BUT STILL-

Look at his outfit choices in this episode. Some of his wardrobe changes were off-screen, but all of them were fire.

(I added the baseball cap pic because it makes me happy. I wish we'd seen more of that fit.)

To me, he makes some really smart choices for himself, pushing the envelope of what is expected and taking chances: an open collar with no tie for a “black tie” event, a beanie and spiked wristbands for their “gansta look,” no socks with loafers (a viral fashion trend that actually began in Africa) with old man slacks in his reclined pose. *muah* Chef’s kiss!

But Don’s fashion sense doesn’t just shine in this episode.

In “Reparin’ the Baron” the boys go to Draxum’s apartment. Leo and Donnie show up in some extra nice “Sunday Dinner” twin drip.

The gold is in the details. Everything Leo is wearing, Donnie rocks its compliment: for Leo’s round collar, Donnie’s is angled, for Leo’s blue shirt, Donnie’s is white, For Leo’s light slacks, Donnie’s are dark. Blah blah blah. It’s so good!

Look at the winter fit in Snow Day.

Again, Donnie is Leo’s perfect compliment. As a pair? Fire.

Donnie has “the eye.” I can go on and on with examples, but I’ve said all of that to say this…

In the future, we see that Donatello’s technology had major pull in the resistance. He had drone ships patrolling the skies. He built and designed Leo’s arm, Casey’s chainsaw-hockey stick, and Casey's mask. The list goes on…

But, when Donatello from the past see’s Casey’s clothing from the future, he says this:

We know about the “Genius Built” brand. We’ve seen that logo on all of his tech up to this point. But, here he didn’t just say “Genius Built.” He said, “Genius Built Apparel.”

“Apparel” is not a tech brand. “Apparel” is a fashion brand. Of course, tech is incorporated into the clothing, but still.

This means that past Donatello secured this trademark with plans of creating a fashion brand, comparable to the likes of Gucci, Ralph Lauren, or any other modern clothing brand, as a subsidiary of “Genius Built,” the tech company.

And why not? The evidence has been in front of us this entire time. He has a sharp eye for style, fashion, and trends. It is easily canon that he can sew. Splinter sewed their ninja garbs in “Insane in the Mama Train,” and there is a sewing machine in the house.

They already learned Ninjutsu through basically osmosis, so learning to sew is not too far-fetched.

And here it is, right in front of us, Casey’s entire ensemble, from mask, to weapons, to clothing, was made by Donatello in the middle of the apocalypse under the brand name “Genius Built Apparel.”

And that was just in the bad future. Resources were limited, they didn’t have access to much of anything in that broken world as they were survivors of a devastating Krang invasion. Yet, he created all of this.

However, now that they’ve changed the future, his future as a fashion designer is limitless. Think of what Donatello could produce with unlimited resources, unlimited technology, and unlimited creative freedom.

Tech genius. Clothing designer. Fashionista. Future Genius Built Apparel Owner and CEO. I’m sorry, but I have to call it...

Donatello Hamato of the present, of the bad future, and of the good future is a fashion icon, the likes of which the world has never seen. ○○○○

LE LABO SANTAL 33 — this one might be more of an acquired taste bc to me, i love the smell and would drench myself but my brother and mom HATES the smell of it. Its a good unisex scent .. sweet musk hehe PAIRS WELL WITH BURBERRY HER

For pairing perfumes I usually get like a perfume oil/balm to put on the skin where i would spray so it stays longer (I use FRENSHE and Glossier Perfume Balm) And i know people said not to spray on ur neck but i spray behind my neck and my wrists and oof this gets people's head turning 🤞🏼😌

Måneskin: “When you get famous, people just want to know who you’re f**king”

The global Italian rockers open up about discovering themselves, mastering fame and finding their genderless sound. (posted on 20.01.2023)

It’s late morning and Italian rock band Måneskin are comfortably seated in a swanky West London hotel room, already kitted out in signature Gucci, jet-black eyeliner, and clean-cut 70s-style statement suits. The quartet, an electric gleam of cool against a silver-spotted setting, are nonchalantly scrunched into a deep turquoise couch. Their suave image serves as a reminder of how far they’ve come since their early Italian X Factor days.

Over a year has passed since the group’s whirlwind takeover as glam rock stars conquering the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 and they’re showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, the band’s authentic image and relentless sound has earned them over six million followers on their band’s Instagram account — a figure greater than the population living in their fashion capital hometown, Rome, where the rock and rollers were born. Måneskin’s rise as next generation figureheads isn’t too unconventional, after all, plenty of breakthrough acts – ABBA, Celine Dion, One Direction – have cut their teeth on televised competitions. And as game-changing winners, the rock band are eager to start writing their own legacy.

Måneskin’s commitment to being more than a hazy Eurovision memory is not to be unexpected. The band have committedly popped where you would least expect them – the 2021 BRIT Awards, Gucci’s luxury Aria campaign, or Disney’s live-action adaptation of Cruella – reminding us that they’re not going anywhere. And, just yesterday, the Italian artists spontaneously flew to London for a glitzy one-off showcase to debut their emo ballad, The Loneliest, co-written by British producer MNEK. While they’ve marginally recovered, the band are still buzzing from last night’s sweaty reception at Camden’s The Underworld in front of 500 die-hard fans. (“Oh my god, it was like a sauna in there,” bassist Victoria De Angelis chimes in, her voice hoarse from the manic show). It doesn’t matter if they’re pulling off last-minute sold-out performances or rubbing elbows with Guns’N’Roses, the Eurovision victors are doing it in style: flamboyantly dressed and with a compelling sense of gratitude.

Now, whether they’re rocking fashion red carpets or main stages, Måneskin are ready to make their presence felt. “We’ve gained a lot of successful things in the last year and we’re really happy about all the paths we’re going through,” drummer Ethan Torchio says, gesturing to the wider band. “We never had a specific ambition to gain or to achieve anything. It’s all about how we approach it day by day.”

While the band may not have pinned their hopes on a specific accolade, Måneskin’s shared teenage experiences primed them for their rapid accession as one of Europe’s hottest rock exports. Forming at high school as a unified three-piece, Ethan Torchio joined the gang after responding to an online open call out for a drummer. This fateful pairing, alongside the band’s long-standing friendship has become the crux of Måneskin’s outlook. “We all have a very clear vision — we are very bitchy,” Victoria says confidently, smiling. “We have very specific ideas. Being only four [of us] and not having overproduction, we think that our individual sound really makes the difference”. Ethan, who’s taken to perching on the couch armrest, echoes his bandmate: “We’re perfectionists.”

As Måneskin’s latest album, RUSH!, dawns, the artists have been busy splitting their legacy between Italy and the rest of the world – from showcasing support for Ukraine at Coachella in California to bringing their rock and roll swagger to The Green Fashion Awards alongside style icons Karolina Kurkova and Elisa Sednaoui. “These two ways of expression (rock and roll) are ways in which we have always liked to measure ourselves,” youngest member Thomas Raggi says in accented English. “We like to alternate them because they represent the different musical souls of which the band is composed.”

Måneskin’s rock and roll philosophy is more than a reliable shoehorned statement. Much like their striking clothing, it fits like a well-worn mantra. (“In a younger age, it really helped us define our personality and stand out in some way,” Victoria says.) Growing up in a “very conservative country”, the artists found the music scene as an opportunity to experiment with their image as teenagers. Labelled as “weird” or receiving “a lot of judgements” wasn’t going to hold Måneskin back. Instead, the alternative act learned to lean on each other for support, she says, and strengthened their bond. “It really helped to have a purpose and have this project together. It made us feel reassured that we’re doing something cool and we were allowed to be ourselves.”

As the band found themselves migrating from headline to headline, they became accustomed to facing off gossip together. Ask them about the cocaine-meets- Eurovision moment and they all laugh, sharing familiar smiles with each other. “We were already so successful in Italy so we got kind of used to hearing speculation about us,” Ethan shrugs. “The huge Eurovision blowout was a good moment of our lives because we were all at a point of growing and personality building.”

But the speculation didn’t just stop there. The questions of drugs subsided and talk about sexuality quickly rose to the fore. At the time, a quick internet search of Måneskin’s name would lead to autofills poking questions at everything to boyfriends, girlfriends, and identity labels. “We’re not very touched by these kinds of comments. We all are very sure of what we are and how we want to show it,” Ethan responds. Although the band were quickly dismissive of the online talk, a bigger lesson loomed, frontman Damiano David reveals. “In Italy, we did not discover that there’s more than one sexuality until we got to use social media. Just like everybody else, I was [use terms] ‘straight’ or ‘gay’,” he candidly shares. Since then, the vocalist admits he’s taking on “more knowledge” to better himself as an ally — “I’m fully straight but this doesn’t stop me from being an ally. I’m on the side that has to learn new things.”

The band’s public discussion of identity has been one they’ve decidedly kept close to their chest, until now. “We understand people can get very affected by [speculation] because they’re making themselves sure of what they are and how to express [themselves] to their parents or to their friends,” Ethan empathises. As a member who has faced the brunt of opinion, the drummer pauses, choosing his words carefully: “[Trying] to guess people’s sexualities is one of the worst things to do — it’s very bad.”

A time that was particularly testing for the band was when Måneskin’s provocative Want To Be Your Slave music video hit the internet. A visual centred on sexual liberation and self-expression, the band quickly faced questions on their aesthetic and affiliation to queerness. “People are curious about it because it’s been quite a taboo topic for many years, it’s something now that other people are so interested in, not only with celebrities, but just generally with everyone,” Victoria says. She recalls times in high school where similar-aged teenagers would guess whether an effeminate boy is gay or not. “Like, who the fuck cares?!” she huffs. “People are really interested in the private lives of the artists. They look it up because it makes them feel like they know you better or it’s just to gossip or break a scandal.”

A brief pause falls over the band and Damiano shakes his head, prepping an answer: “I think it’s easier. It’s just not that complicated. When you get famous, people just want to know who you’re fucking. It’s just sick curiosity.” The inner-band debate strikes up again as Ethan proposes the media curiosity is fuelled by a misdirected want for knowledge and understanding.

While this is one the few times the band disagree, they respectfully onboard one another’s opinions as they take stock of the bigger conversation. The root of animated discussion breaks open as the members begin to turn the question inward. “I don’t really know how to identify. In the past years, I’ve been identifying as bi, but, lately, I’m having no interest in boys. I’m discovering [my identity is] developing,” Victoria says, her striped brown tie falling forwards. “I like some girls and then it changes to ‘okay, I almost don’t like any boys at all’. It is something constantly… It’s lesbian but also Harry Styles.” Damiano cracks up with laughter and Ethan quips that the former One Direction star is christened “the chosen one”. Circling back to her line of thought, the bassist proves she’s hardcore with her closing line — “It’s just who you are and you can really express yourself and I think this is like what matters the most and what we think is real rock and roll and freedom.”

Måneskin are no strangers to taking a stand. If you ask us, it looks like they love causing a bit of a stir. Mid-last year, the band, once again, caught headlines after Damiano and Thomas shared an unplanned kiss on stage at the Polsat SuperHit Festival. The band vividly recalls fans sharing the impact their music had on them. “When you get there and see how you can help thousands of people, it really makes you understand the difference you can have in that moment,” Victoria reflects. The group’s commitment to ensuring freedom of expression is larger than a few lyrics in a song – it feeds into their interviews and on-stage actions too.

“Being part of this generation it’s hard. It’s useful to take some strong positions on topics, because we need some strong actions. We’re just trying to do our part,” Thomas elaborates, explaining Måneskin’s move to be controversial every now and then. “We also try to improve ourselves every day. But at least you can try to find and to look for the right thing to do.” Lead singer Damiano backs up the decision to use their platform to back political causes. “If you have the courage to speak up about things, I think it’s very, very helpful,” he says earnestly. “We have to be able to understand when it’s better for us to take a step back and let those really affected people talk about it, because we are just allies and we’re not getting discriminated against, but we can try to be empathetic and use our voice and our power to help everybody.”

The four-piece have chalked up a reputation for being unpredictable and stylishly outrageous, but this consensus doesn’t sway the young band. If anything, their years in the on-screen media pipeline has taught them how to utilise the spotlight. It doesn’t matter whether they’re discussing music, tours or politics, the band inevitably comes back to the value of being authentic for their fans (“We just feel very close to them,” Victoria says protectively.) At the centre of their overlapping comments on friendship and frenzied life changes, Måneskin are humbly aware of how their fanbase supports them. The bassist continues, saying it’s important to create a place where everyone can be who they want. Pausing, she periodically slips into Italian, asking her bandmates to translate a term.

“It’s obvious everyone wants to be free for who they really are. In my experience, at first, I was so concerned and worried ‘who am I if I do this’ or that I’m something else or that I’m changing, but it’s [best] to not be worried about these things,” she says passionately. “We want to create with our fans and to put everyone in this healthy environment. And doing this really gives strength to young people or people who are in more oppressed situations to have courage to see that it’s okay.”

There’s no doubt Måneskin have distilled their lived lessons into this new record to create a rock and roll oasis. From beat-thumping inductions to media gossip to tongue-in-cheek comments on becoming the “kool kids”, the monstrous, hardcore noise of RUSH! has it all. “For me, it is a very personal record. It tells the story of how I came to discover myself and what I want to be as a person and as an artist,” Damiano explains. “All this frenzy led me to look inside myself, somehow I felt free to express a part of me that I had kept more hidden.”

The album is a chaotic amalgamation of crushing guitar riffs, full-throttle lyrics, and sonorous vocals sways through lines of Italian and English. Måneskin’s charge forward with spluttering drums, cranked up instrumentation, with songs pouring their original larger-than-life stamp into their broad rock productions. At their height, the band’s best tracks (La Fine, Gossip ft Tom Morello, Kool Kids) ignite like a blazing stage sign giving direction to Måneskin’s inevitable rise as one of today’s spirited rock acts.

An evolution from their gutsy sophomore studio release, Teatro d’ira: Vol. I, new album RUSH! captures the spark of each member. “Each of us had the freedom to follow our own personal direction. This time we didn’t look for the synthesis, the lowest common denominator between our different personalities, but we kind of added them up, exalted them all to the same level, and despite everything I think we still retained our identity,” Victoria shares.

With that, the band did not shy away from splurging on animated guitar hooks or fret over going too heavy with the familiar political zing of their rock tunes. Victoria adds: “We live in the concern of a progressive loss of people’s rights and we are afraid that this common thought is growing. In the track La Fine we refer precisely to this thought. Our music wants to be free and genderless. The goal is that people can identify with our message without having any definition of gender or category.”

After months of mania and unrelenting bouts of success, Måneskin are eagerly positioned to take on what’s next. And with a sold out arena in London already on the cards, it won’t be long before they’re greeting roaring fans once more. But, for now, as they savour the release of RUSH!, the band have found renewed strength in their amped up sound. “We have found our synthesis in diversity. This record is a point of pride and artistic growth for us,” Damiano reaffirms. And in a lesson learned by all, Victoria shares a final note of uplifting advice: “Never be afraid to express yourself. Always be free!”

During the last year of 1D Harry was already working with Harry Lambert meanwhile the rest of the boys had the same stylist as always. It was so clear looking it now, on their last tour he only wore black on stage = a big contrast with what he wore during his first solo tour "from pop boybander to flowish rock icon who now can be 100% free" lol. I don't know but he's fashion choises (that ugly Gucci suit - 1D era) were non organic at all. Did he ever has a personality?

When Harry wore Slimane’s YSL in 1D, it was actually a perfect pairing.

My guess on why he went with Gucci instead: Gucci had the biggest overall global sales, and paid him the most. This is simply Harry’s instinctive motivation for anything.

Sales was Harry’s motivation to completely change his genre from 70’s-inspired soft rock to TikTok sound bite within two albums. Wasn’t he Baby Jagger, the second coming of Prince + Bowie + Freddie Mercury? The narcissism of Harry’s copying Jagger’s dance moves and Mercury’s vocal calls on stage.

Harry’s team takes what worked for others (Dorothy, Danny Zuko, a-ha, Badfinger), makes it shinier, flashier, uglier, covered in feathers and sequins, and sells it back on Harry’s exercised body. Wasn’t there a TikTok that compared Harry’s songs to all the other songs that sound incredibly similar to, including Dua Lipa’s Levitating? Imagine being one of the biggest pop stars in the world and ripping off a colleague.

Harry is already a 30-year-old man. He’s 14 years into his career. He’s still sleeping his way into movie roles, still hooking up for PR, still singing whatever nonsense gets airtime. When will he begin to do something original?

do you have any thoughts about the perfume/cologne/deodorant of Roy or Keeley?

Oh, Keeley’s hard, because I think she’d know a lot more about perfumes than I do, and have a far better idea of what is fashionable or not. Then again, I can also see Keeley saying fuck off to fashionable and just go with whatever floats her boat. She’s sure to have a collection of scents for different occasions, selecting what suits her mood and outfit, even if she might have a few favourites that she wears more often than others.

Generally, I’d say she leans towards very feminine and sweet scents, preferably floral and/or fruity ones, rather than very fresh or very aromatic or woody ones. Amber florals, mostly, I’m thinking, or maybe a fruity gourmand.

I’d love to say Twilly D’Hermes Eau Poivrée, because I think the aesthetic of the little bottle with a bowler hat and a colourful scarf is very much up Keeley’s alley, and I do like the symbolism of the cute packaging hiding something surprisingly spicy and strong. Unfortunately, I just can’t square the actual smell with Keeley, especially since the dry down turns rather mature (read: old-fashioned). She might pick up the Eau Ginger, for the odd occasion when she wants to go all out on the sweet candied ginger, baked goods quietly having it out with a flower bouquet. It’s rarely her first choice, though.

I can see (smell) her in Valentino Donna Born in Roma, especially when she’s gearing up for a night out or day about town. There is a woodiness to it that always gives it a hint of smoke, but there’s lot of sweet floral notes as well, and vanilla. It’s pink too, so it’d go nicely with her everything. But maybe this is something she would have primarily worn a couple of years ago, back when we first met her on the show. These days, and especially when she’s at the office or doing business, I think Gucci Guilty pour femme would be a solid choice: it’s a little less in your face, still very sweet and floral but with a hint of citrus freshness to it that makes it lighter, and a quiet undercurrent of spice that lends it a certain air of elegance and (fashionable) maturity. It’s also supposed to be for “women who are truly liberated. A modern declaration of self-expression and fearlessness” and while that’s obviously marketing bullshit it’s also very fitting for Keeley, right? It’s not her party perfume, but yeah, quite possibly her everyday office choice.

For a classic, she might turn to Coco Mademoiselle, as might we all in times of trouble. When she’s feeling the need for something a little less sweet and more purely floral (and woody), the EdT Euphoria Blossom by Calvin Klein might do (if she can get hold of it, it’s no longer produced and I’m very bitter about it), or maybe something from the Gucci Flora Gorgerous line.

Roy is far easier: it is my very learned and expert opinion that he’s recently been rocking Ralph’s Club by (you guessed it) Ralph Lauren.

It’s not a hugely original scent, perhaps, but it is very likeable and not at all boring. It’s got a freshness to it, a little sweet velvety floral layer that turns the aromatic wood into something more than just your average masculine scent. It’s sleek and casually elegant with a nice (if not extremely surprising) twist to it, and smelling it I can smell Roy. I don’t think he’d want anything too out there, but if he bothers getting a perfume at all, he still wants it to be nice and somewhat fashionable (even if he’d hate to admit it) and not just out and out traditional musky spice and wood and leather. The freshness also makes it something suitable for a well-groomed athlete even if it’s very much not a sport scent. Can be worn to any occasion, too, which I think Roy would appreciate – one bottle of perfume is plenty, thank you.

Also, it comes in a all black bottle, so yeah. My main concern is that I’m not sure that Roy would care to be part of any club of Ralph’s, but I have decided that he’ll suck it up. At least he’ll be smelling nice while sulking about it.

Do you have a fashion inspo blog?

Well, although I'm a millennial and technically from the generation that made blogging popular I have never been into fashion blog like that

Even when I was studying fashion I was more into reading magazines/industry news than blogs

It didn't stop me from digging a particular individual style though. And on that aspect, as far as I know, Toru Inagawa has been my biggest style crush. I discovered him because he was often featured into TUNE magazine (streetstyle magazine) and I immediately fell in love lol. I'm a sucker for everything oversize so I quickly became obsessed with him and his pants and knitwear

Fun fact: I am such a fan of him that when I went to Tokyo I was adamant in going to his second hand shop (he's the owner) and bought gorgeous oversize denim pants there. The same day I made an Instagram story tagging him and he looked at it 😳💗 Biggest "Sempai noticed me" moment!!! lmaoo

For female inspo it definitely was Tsubasa Masuwaka. She peaked big time during her gyaru days ; her way of coordinating sporty items (beanies, varsity tees & socks) with more fashionable pieces (denim, cowboy boots) has always fascinated me

But beside her sense of style, the way she conducted herself, being so confident in her taste and how to properly convey it in the shootings she was featured in was very inspiring.

There's this documentary about her on youtube ; even if you don't understand Japanese you can have a glimpse of her style and allure (starting from the 4:00 mark). Keep in mind this was 15 years ago, so this style might come off as kinda dated but even today I think she still she had that visionary je ne sais quoi which totally explains why she is to this day the queen of a 10 millions yen empire lol Tsubasa has always been a smart businesswoman

I remember obsessively trying to buy that exact same kind beanie at New Look. Tsu chan really got young wannabe gyaru me on a chokehold lol

Today, now that gyaru fell off and she getting older, her style became pretty underwhelming (it a hit or miss really...). I'm currently reading her book "Tsubasa REAL" and the fashion chapter is okay, but it's nowhere as "WOW" as it was back when she got a big break as a gyaru dokusha model. It's interesting to see her rocking designer brand more than she ever did (in that documentary she's making a Shimamura haul - basically the equivalent of Primark in Japan) but....she never manages to pull it off and always looks like she's cosplaying

Though it seems more like a global movement in the reiwa era, which is more beauty than fashion oriented(?)

I replied to an ask where I more thoroughly elaborated on the whole difference of era in Japan but to put it bluntly, reiwa is much more conservative and "safe" (styl & make up ise) so it makes sense that Tsubasa is going along and toned down her style?

Heisei: glamorous/big hair, tanned/glolden skin, heavy eye makeup & eyelashes, thin eyebrows, glossy lips, shimmer...

Reiwa: pale skin, little to no eye makeup, strong eyebrow, 涙袋/ namidabukuro (drawn or surgically enhanced tearbag to look more youthful)..

The last day I was (re)watching her video of listing all her plastic surgery and she admitted messing up her face with hyaluronic acid because she was so insecure about her big round shaped head, and used hyaluronic acid to have a sharper face, but the hyaluronic acid eventually migrated on her cheeks which made her face even rounder 💀 so now she's trying to fix it with HIFU (which is some sort of electrosound muscle treatment...). She lowkey sounds addicted but that's how far narcissism will get you.... (and it seems well ingrained in the family since she said her own parents told her when she was still in middle school to pinch her nose with a clothespin 1 hour a day to have a high nose bridge (which she did) 💀 and when people clown her for having weird shaped nostril she said it hurt her feelings because that's her "natural features"....like?? bestie, maybe if you didn't mess up your nose cartilage during your growth development your nostrils wouldn't look so weird. There's nothing 'natural' about it 😬)

This woman started getting plastic surgery very young (in her early 20s with eyelid surgery) and did so continuously up until now (she's in her mid 30s) so that explains why she's looking so uncanny when she doesn't have her pictures monitored/filtered to hell and back. Tsubasa has the same syndrome as Kylie Jenner, which is women trying to fit into a very specific beauty aesthetic that only looks good on Instagram but in reality looks super uncanny.

“ You know, statistically speaking, one in four hot men in Yokohama are connected to the mafia?” 

Alice, a young woman in her late teens, looked up from her task of sanitizing the wiped down yet still sticky restaurant tables; armed only with a well-used and frayed cloth and a spray bottle full of hand sanitizer.

Despite sharing a name with the child- favorite Lewis Carroll character, Alice in Wonderland, she looked nothing like the sweet little girl from the fairytales. Or well not unless Alice grew up, did a 180 on her appearance and lived an unhealthy, depressed lifestyle. This Alice had long black hair that went all the way down past her waist with streaks of blue in it. A pale complexion that could give a vampire a run for their money and deep green eyes that looked straight out of a halloween promotion magazine for coloured contact lenses. She would have been rather pretty were it not for the constant dark rings under her eyes, raw-chewed lips from stress and a lack of confidence in her own appearance which was not helped by her constant fluctuation in weight. Even now the customary maid uniform felt oddly revealing, seeming shorter than the last time she wore it a week ago, and her chest felt like it was almost bursting out of the top. 

Rather than complain about her appearance, she bore her bright eyes into her closest friend- Yonna, a woman who was the picture perfect definition of  ‘adult Alice’. With a head of bouncy blond locks, which framed a diamond shaped face, full red lips and high cheekbones. Her skin was slightly tan, having just returned from a holiday outside Japan. She had a full hourglass figure and rocked the maid outfit of their restaurant as if it were the latest gucci fashion. Besides being breathtakingly hot she was also an adorable ball of energy; running the rag drenched in savon over the sticky tables covered in crumbs, drink spills and dirt as if this wasn’t the end of a 12-hour hellshift. 

“ Yeah and according to that statistic one in six is an ability user and three in a thousand are vampires- keep dreaming” Alice stated as she went back to wiping the same table she had spent the last three minutes on. If her spirits were on the floor at the start of their conversation, they made it past rock bottom now. 

“ You don’t need to get sarcastic” Yonna stated, pausing work as she pointed the dirty cloth in Alice’s direction “ I’m just saying that maybe you’re freaking out over nothing. For all you know, your boyfriend could be some high up executive in a mafia organization or something.” 

“ And what am I supposed to do then? Run and beg him for help?” 

“ Beg who for help?” 

“ Chuuya?!” Alice spun around, her eyes landed on her boyfriend who was leaning casually against the staff door. His usual black coat was not on him and neither was his hat. Still he was dressed to the nine’s in black suit pants, white shirt and gray vest on top. The normal leather of his choker was hidden beneath a loosened tie with just the edge of it peeking out. Surprisingly he was still wearing the black leather gloves, which somehow did not look tacky. 

Alice plastered a cheery smile on her lips despite her exhaustion, as she raised her cleaning supplies almost guiltily. “ You’re early, I’m still not quite finished with my shift.” 

Yonna abandoned cleaning and came up and wrapped an arm around Alice's shoulders. Hitting her hip playfully she then made several nods in a Chuuyas direction as if he was the embodiment of their earlier conversation. Alice shook her head, her eyes warned or more like threatened her friend not to utter a word. Some things were best kept private between them.

“ Chuuya didn’t you see we were having a girls talk.” Yonna scolded him half heartedly as she dragged the younger girl towards the next section of tables “  How did you get in anyway? The doors are locked”  

“ Back doors weren’t- you should be more careful"  he stated, his eyes stared down at Yonna, then her hand which was still wrapped around Alice then back to her with a stern and rather disapproving look. She responded by tilting her head to the side in fake innocence. When that didn’t earn her any bonus points she raised her finger to her cheek, and tapped against the soft skin in mock cuteness.  

“ Are you here to walk Alice to the hotel?” she asked as she moved to clasp her hands together in glee " How romantic!"

“ Hotel?” 

“ Yeah I’m staying away from home for a few days” Alice stated as if it was the most natural thing to do on a waitress salary. Before Chuuya could ask more questions she went back to disinfecting the tables “ I think I have about half an hour left here Chuuya, I’ve got to finish these tables then get my things and shower. If you don’t wanna wait I can catch you sometime in the week-” Before Alice could finish her sentence Yonna cut her off with a cheerful;“ -I’ll wrap up” 

“ You sure, Yonna?” The girl beamed at Alice, taking the rag out of her hands before getting started on the tables, working even faster than she did before. 

“ Course, see ya– not tomorrow!” she concluded completely oblivious of the work schedule and when their next shift together would be “ Have a great night!” 

“ Well that settles it” Chuuya stated as he held out his hand towards Alice who proceeded to wipe the remainder of the disinfectant onto the apron of her working attire before placing it in his. Like a gentleman he led her back the way he came and towards the employee dressing rooms. 

“ Chuu i still need to shower and change, I can’t walk around in a maid outfit.” 

“ I’ve parked on the sidewalk. Just grab your things and let’s go” he stated shamelessly walking into the girls changing room. Unbothered by the sight of drying bra’s and maid outfits he made his way towards the back, and the only locker which had a suitcase standing beside it.

“ You own a car?” Alice raised an eyebrow. Taking the key out of her uniform she quickly unlocked the flimsy metal door and took out her stuffed purse, throwing it on her shoulder along with another tote bag of things. The rest, she concluded, could stay in the locker for the night. 

“ Rental, work related” he clarified as he grabbed the suitcase. Once she had everything, Chuuya led her out, making sure to hold the doors open for her until they exited out the back of the restaurant and into the dark alley behind it. The place had an eerie feel to it, cluttered with trash containers and metal doors leading into cool storage rooms and meat and vegetable freezers. If someone ended up in one of those freezer rooms she knew first hand that no amount of screaming would save you. 

Just as Chuuya promised the second they left the short alley there was the car waiting for them; some kind of a black sports car. Alice was not good with cars but even she could tell it was a fancy thing. While Chuuya placed her suitcase in the trunk Alice took a moment to look back the way they came. 

She swore she had seen a shadow following them in the alleyway. However now, unsurprisingly there was no one there. 

Shaking her head she turned back to the vehicle and ran her fingers over the smooth paint. It really was a gorgeous thing. Undoubtedly expensive. Her suspicions were confirmed as Chuuya opened the door for her and she got in. The leather felt soft to the touch, and seemed to hug her closely. If she was just a little less stressed, Alice was certain she’d have fallen asleep the second her ass made contact with the seat. Before she could reach for the seatbelt, Chuuya reached above her and grasped  it in his fingers pulling it slowly down, between her breasts, and towards the clasp. His lips just inches away from hers, a pleased smirk playing on his lips as he studied the way her face grew warm at the special attention. It didn’t take long until Alice closed the distance between them,pulling him closer by the tie. Chuuya didn’t protest; he returned the kiss with equal passion, leaning down even closer to her. His hand left her seatbelt and moved upwards towards her shoulder, only briefly trailing the bare skin above her brests. 

God how she missed him, how happy she was that he was here. 

“ Hey love birds, Chisun isn’t gonna be staffed all night!” Alice heard Yonna’s voice through their kiss followed by a ‘fucking hell’ from Chuuy as he pulled back, rather reluctantly, and closed the car door with a little too much force. Alice couldn’t help but laugh, her heart soaring. The smile still played on her lips as Chuuya got in beside her; starting the car with one hand while simultaneously tugging on his seatbelt before tearing out from in front of the restaurant. He fully intended to get out of there before Yonna could come over and tease them more. 

Silence lingered between them. 

Feeling sleepy, Alice leaned forward and began fiddling with the radio, trying to find a decent late evening station. Outside, the darkness cloaked most of the streets, nature and people. Only street lights flickered by or an occasional car. Alice did not have a driver's license but even she guessed that they were going a decent amount above the speed limit. This meant they would arrive at the hotel in under ten minutes. Fifteen minutes later they were still on the road, Chuuya pulling out into an unfamiliar highway. 

“I don’t think this is the way to the hotel” Alice mumbled as she reached for her phone located somewhere in the bags at her feet. Her observation earned herself a loud laugh. Letting one hand drop away from the steering wheel, Chuuya placed it on her lap, halting her movements with a gentle squeeze. 

“ No girl of mine will be staying in a hotel after a 12 hour restaurant shift” He stated it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “ We’re heading to my place. Think of it as an abduction ” 

“ Chuuya you can’t be serious?” Alice squirmed in the seat a million thoughts running through her head. “ Come on If you have any ‘back thoughts’ with it I’m too exhausted. I’m honest, I just wanna shower, eat and then hit the hay” 

“ All things you can do at my place, dollface” Taking his eyes off the road he pressed a quick kiss to her lips. His voice dropped much lower as if he were sharing a secret with her “ I can either cook you something or takeout and movie. Deal?” 

“ Chuuya eyes on the road!” Alice stated, her voice raising in panic. 

“ Baby I could drive this thing blindfolded- wanna see?” 

“ Just get us to your place safely, please” she breathed, sending a plea to high heavens that they’d make it there in one piece.

Leaning back with a sigh, Chuuya turned back to face the road. He looked almost hurt. And Alice would have believed that sweet expression were it for the fact that his hand was back to squeezing her thigh through her maid uniform, his fingers brushing against the bare skin every now and again causing a shudder to pass through her. Such a seemingly innocent action had such a strong effect on her.  After a while Alice reached out and took his hand in her own and held it tightly, keeping it in one place. It wasn’t long after that they pulled past automatic gates and towards what Alice could only describe as a mini mansion with large windows, located on a hill. From one side it overlooked the city of Yokohama and from the other, open water. 

The sight was breathtaking.  

She didn’t get to admire it for long as her lover drove up right to the entrance and turned off the car, not caring about parking it properly. He was the first to get out, going over to her side he opened her door before helping Alice out. Once she stood in front of him Chuuya pressed a loving kiss to her forehead before he got her suitcase and led her towards the door with the latest technologie- a touch panel with a code instead of a key. 

“ Make yourself at home” he said as the door opened and he went inside the bright hallway, kicking his shoes off messily by the door. 

“ Pardon the intrusion” Alice mumbled, significantly more polite, a shy side of her showing as she took more time to carefully take off her heels before placing them neatly beside his dress shoes. “ Do you live here alone?” 

“ Yeah” Chuuya stated as if it wasn’t a big deal as he watched her take off her shoes. When he deemed that she took too long, like a scaredy cat, he grabbed her hand in his hand and pulled her into the house. “ The bathroom with the shower is straight ahead, second door to the left, opposite the staircase. Around the staircase is the living room. We’ll eat there tonight or on the veranda if it's still warm enough. Need a change of clothes from your suitcase?” 

Alice shook her head, patting the tote bag as she eyed the place with great caution as if the house was going to swallow her whole, or she was gonna get lost in it somehow. If she hadn’t been as tired as she was, she would have been wow’ed by his place. Seeing the mentioned bathroom she glanced at Chuuya who let her hand go and urged her to go on and get comfortable. 

“ Okay then I’ll put it upstairs in the bedroom.” With his now free hand he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone before looking through takeout options that still delivered at this hour. The options weren’t many “ Sushi?” 

“ Sounds good” Alice mumbled heading towards the bathroom before pausing slightly “ Dibs on the vegetarian ones” 

“ Vegetarian?” 

“ Oh come on I can’t be the only one who thinks it's creepy to eat raw fish from god-knows when” She called before she closed and locked the bathroom door behind herself, not giving Chuuya enough time to point out that they were in Yokohama. Fresh fish was the norm. 

Inside the bathroom Alice tried not to think too hard about anything. It was after all just a bathroom, even if it was larger than what she was used to. She undressed quickly and hurried under the warm water, sighing in relief as it washed away the dirt and the stress of her shift. Taking a look around, another smile adored her lips as she noticed three new bottles; a shampoo, conditioner and a body wash from her favorite brand placed at the front of the shampoo rack. 

Such a Chuuya thing to do. 

Once she finished her shower, Alice hurried to get herself dry with one of the towels in the bathroom before she began to face a slight dilemma. Did she dress casual or sexy? She settled for a mix; a black with blue laced bra and matching panties. However rather than showing them off in a lacy floor-length kimono she put on a casual off-one-shoulder t-shirt and a pair of dark blue jean shorts. This would do, she concluded as she stuffed her uniform into a plastic bag then into the tote, deciding to keep it in the bathroom for now. Then she headed towards the living room. 

It didn’t take her long to find her way there, just in time to see Chuuya pour two glasses of wine to their newly delivered Sushi which was laid out on the table by the couch. Opposite the large couch which could fit a family was a TV playing ads for new talk shows and cinema releases. On either side were small drawers with lamps on top giving off a pleasant, gentle light. Chuuya motioned for her to take a seat before handing her a glass of wine with a simple ‘try this’. 

Skeptic at first, Alice did not understand how he was going to pair sushi with wine. Taking a sip she noticed that it was not as sweet in comparison to their usual wines. She took another sip before Chuuya held out an Avocado nigiri to her lips. Eating it she turned her head to the side in slight confusion

" huh it works?” she mumbled in surprise as Chuuya took his seat beside her, starting with the wine then reaching his chopsticks for a piece of sushi, purposefully avoiding Soya and Wasabi. 

" Told you, Pinot Gris works with Sushi. It’d be better with real fish of course.” Chuuya stated matter-of-factly as the ads on TV turned into a late night show that she was only half watching. 

The atmosphere felt cozy between them, comfortable. Mindless small talk as they ate and then just sat and enjoyed a glass of wine together. Alice imagined that they looked content together- maybe even happy. She knew she felt happy for the first time in days, all thanks to this man. 

Alice reached out and placed a hand on his cheek making him face her. She stared into his eyes for only a second before she kissed him. The kiss started out sweet, grateful. Their lips moving against each other in a familiar rhythm. Her hands moved into his hair, enjoying how silky it felt against her fingertips. She felt his arm snake around her, pulling her closer as he deepened it, his teeth toying gently with her bottom lip before running his tongue across it, asking permission. Alice moved, shifting until she was saddling his lap before she parted her lips for him. She was the first to break their kiss, out of breath, 

“ I thought you were too tired dollface” Chuuya mussed, not looking too disappointed at her initiation. Especially since his hands were in the back pockets of her jean shorts, holding her close. 

“I guess changing my mind is not an option?” She teased back purposefully grinding herself against him. Chuuya threw his head back against the couch, a groan of desire on his lips,clearly enjoying the heavenly sensation. He wasn’t the only one, moving her body against him Alice could feel the tension between her legs finally becoming bearable.  There- just like that, her warm barely-dressed body against his hot one- his heat through her clothes- oh god“ But if you don’t want to-” She whispered trying so desperately to hide how much she wanted him as began to move off his lap. Her intention was to tease him a little. 

Before she could get far Chuuya moved, pushing her into the large couch, he climbed on top, keeping her in place underneath him. “ Dollface you’re playing with fire” he warned, his voice shaking ever so slightly. He pressed his hardening length between her legs, making Alice gasp in realization. Already?! Her face grew warmer as she watched him close his eyes , taking deep breaths. Alice could see that he wanted her, could see the slight shake in his arms as he dug his nails into the cushions of the couch. She could see the redness of his ears, the bob of his adams apple as he struggled with himself. She could still feel his lengths, hard and yearning between her legs.

Until Chuuya dropped her on the bed. Green eyes flickered upwards before she moved to undo his pants and pull them down. Then his boxers. The action brought back memories from her earlier conversation with Yonna. If begging and pleading would allow her to stay in his arms- would she do it? She wondered the hypothetical thought for a long time before forcing herself back to reality. 

“ I’m.. in a bit of trouble” Alice admitted, finally breaking the silence. 

“ What kind of trouble?” 

“ Nothing I couldn’t really solve myself but-” she hesitated a bit trying to find the right words- was there even such a thing? “ It’d be smarter for me to move away from Yokohama for a while.. I heard Tokyo is nice this time of year” she stared down at his bare chest, not daring to face him. 

Would he get angry? Would he feel betrayed? She’d deserve it all- screaming and hating, hitting her if it made him feel better. After all, she effectively took his kindness and smashed it into pieces. Not willingly of course- but that didn’t matter. 

“ Anything to do with the guns lurking around your window?” he sounded eerily calm- almost too calm. Cold even.  

“ What?” 

“ Don’t worry, I took care of it” Again that calm and collected- unbothered tone. As if they were talking about the right way to make chicken stock rather than an end to their relationship. 

“ What? What do you mean ‘took care of it’?” Panic was back, tenfolds. Her heart was almost beating right out of her chest. Or tearing itself into shreds right there. What did he do? And was she really that close to getting in harm's way? 

Chuuya didn’t seem bothered and if he noticed her shaking, then he hid it well. Instead he reached out beside the bed and pulled out a packet of cigarettes, lighting one. Taking a deep breath he salvaged the ashy taste before he continued;“ What kind of mafia executive would I be if I let some lowlives hang around my girlfriend's apartment all night?”

“ I guess- wait wait wait a fucking second mafia executive?” Alice flew up from the bed and into a sitting position, putting a bit of difference between the two of them. An imaginary distance at best- since in reality the only real distance there was the thin blanket that separated her bare chest from his watchful eyes “ You’re joking right?” 

Chuuya wasn’t laughing as he stared at her. If anything he looked serious, calm, each expression hidden perfectly behind a stoic mask so unfamiliar to Alice. It made her shudder under his gaze despite herself. His actions were unfamiliar to her, the way he just drew in another breath of his smoke without a hint of hurry. “ Are you afraid, doll?”  

Alice considered the question for a long moment. The conversation with Yonna flashing back to her mind. Oh how right she had been about Chuuya- or maybe she had said this to mentally prepare her. Maybe Yonna knew all along and Alice was the only one in the dark? Or maybe that was just her luck- to fall in love, follow home and fuck an extremely dangerous man, more than once. The thought made a cynical smile play on her lips.  Despite all this, Alice felt a calmness inside herself. The news was shocking, of course but she was taking it better than she could ever hope. She took a deep breath and forced her body to relax. “ No” She answered half lying “ because if you wanted to kill me I’d be already dead, right Chuu?” This part was wholehearted truths.  

Chuckling at her reaction, Chuuya put out his cigarette before he reached up and grabbed her arm pulling her forward for a kiss. She kissed him back, feeling tension in her shoulders returning- a fear she could barely understand herself. Deepening the kiss, Alice tangled her hands in his hair- a part of him that always brought her comfort- gripping tighter than she intended to. She reminded herself that this man was still Chuuya- her lover. The man who bought her favorite shampoo and bodywash and was quick to apologize when he got too rough.Who he was outside their relationship didn't need to change them. At least that’s what she was gonna force herself to believe. 

“ So dollface” Chuuya spoke as he broke their kiss, his finger trailing the side of her face until they reached her chin. Grasping it gently yet firmly he forced Alice to stare into the icy blue of his eyes “ Wanna tell me why there were armed mafia outside your apartment?”

This song was written and recorded originally as part of the Distracted sessions at Burn Money Studios in Portland with me and Yellow Trash Can but in the end we decided it didn’t fit with the rest of the tracks on the EP, so we cut it. Everybody on the team and at the label still liked this one a lot so we decided to release it on its own. Anyway, here she blows.

Lyrically, Rock and Roll City is about wanting something superficial as a way of avoiding intimacy in relationships. For all the beauty and sex and glitz that comes with making music or chasing fame, it feels empty if you don’t have real shit around to balance it out.

The release of this single also marks the official end of my Gucci era. Thank you again to Alessandro Michele for dressing me for the last 8 years and for including me during his tenure at Gucci. We had an incredible run and I will always be grateful for the opportunities his vision — and the Gucci brand — brought my way over the past decade of working together.

I’ve started collaborating with a new designer and fashion house for my looks on tour this fall, as well as for the next album and music videos coming next year. Stay tuned for more on that very soon, but in the meantime…

Things to do: a guide to vacationing in Capri!

Capri has been enchanting people since ancient times, its glittering blue seas and pine tree strewn lands casting a spell over all who visit. These days, the island of Capri still has a hold on the rich and famous. Whether you’re looking for stunning natural beauty, ancient ruins, or just some fantastic shopping... you’ll find it all here. (x, x, x, x, x, x)

Naples to Capri - The Naples to Capri ferry leaves from the Port of Naples at Molo Beverello and takes 50 minutes on the high-speed or 80 minutes on the ‘slow’ ferry.

Positano to Capri -  The ferry from Positano and the Amalfi Coast to Capri (or vice versa) takes 50 minutes and is a perfect way to combine the two destinations.

Sorrento to Capri - a Sorrento to Capri day trip is a 20 minute ride on the high speed ferry.

VISIT THE BLUE GROTTO:

Capri’s most famous site and the inspiration behind postcards in the area. The blue grotto is world famous for its crystal clear aquamarine waters and blue color. The cave gets its distinctive bright blue color thanks to a large hole in the rock beneath the water surface. It’s been loved and shunned in equal measure throughout history: the emperor Tiberius used it as his private swimming pool, and after that, it was avoided by the locals due to stories of the cave being haunted. Board a tour boat at Marina Grande in order to be taken to the Blue Grotto! You can even opt for a private boat tour around the island with a visit to the Blue Grotto. You’ll be taken around the coast, then transferred to a rowboat in order to enter the tiny entrance of the Grotto.

VISIT GIARDINI DI AUGUSTO (THE GARDENS OF AUGUSTUS):

Enjoy a peaceful walk through the small garden solo or with someone special, just a short walk from the center of Capri Town. Once you walk up a small flight of steps, you discover the most beautiful views. The gardens are extremely well cared for and have a vast variety of Mediterranean flora. The best time to visit is in the spring and summer when blossoms are at their best. You can also enjoy some rather lovely statues, which look perfectly suited to their surroundings. At the back of the gardens are two terraces that offer breathtaking views of the sea, the surrounding lush greenery, and the famous Faraglioni rocks. 

MONTE SOLARO, THE ISLAND’S HIGHEST POINT:

You’ll see Monte Solaro as soon as you arrive on Capri, it’s the mountain which towers over Marina Grande, and it’s rather easy to get to the summit. A hiking path starts in Anacapri (you’ll need to take a bus to Capri’s second town), and it’s an easy hike for anyone in good condition. You can enjoy the local flora on the way up: Monte Solaro is known for its proliferation of plant life! If hiking isn’t for you, you can catch a chairlift to the summit - the chairlift is an experience in itself and the ascent to the top is quite gentle with no large drops beneath you at any point. Once you’ve made it to the top, you can enjoy the region’s best views. The vistas stretch all over the Bay of Naples.

SHOP AROUND AT VIA CAMERELLE:

Designer shopping starts here. The serene street in Capri Town has one of the highest concentrations of luxury fashion shops found anywhere in Italy! Name a fashion brand, particularly the Italian ones, and you’ll probably find it here. Shoppers can choose between Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Valentino, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Chanel, Prada, Dior, Gucci, and more. 

BUY HANDMADE CAPRI SANDALS:

Get yourself some handmade sandals, custom made to fit your feet, making them both unique and a perfect fit. Capri has several legendary sandal shops. Every piece is made of soft, supple leather, and decorated with jewelry chosen by its prospective owner.

GRAB TREATS AT BUONOCORE GELATERIA & DINE AT RISTORANTE DA GAMMA:

Every town in Italy has its own legendary gelateria, serving the finest ice cream to be found. In Capri, it’s Buonocore Gelateria right on the main shopping street. In addition to its famous ice cream, Buonocore Gelateria has a fantastic range of savories and cakes, all made the day itself with local ingredients. And like anywhere else in the Campagna region of Italy, you’ll find plenty of restaurants and hole-in-the-wall joints offering pizza, but why not go for the finest? Ristorante De Gemma and its tables on the outdoor terrance dine close to the sea. Whatever item you choose, you won’t be dissapointed; the restaurant dazzles with its pasta and seafood. But it’s the pizza that steals the show, cooked perfectly in the Naples style. 

VISIT THE PHILOSOPHICAL PARK:

One of the newer things to do in Anacapri is walk the peaceful paths in the Capri Philosophical Park near the end of the Migliera walking trail. Each of the three paths up the hillside is dedicated to a different philosophical theme – Idealism, Realism and Wisdom – and lined with ceramic plaques quoting philosophers and writers from the 7th to the 20th centuries.

A DAY AT PUNTA CARENA:

The Lido del Faro beach next to the Punta Carena Lighthouse is an idyllic spot for sun-seekers to pull up a towel, as this local favorite hasn’t yet caught on among travelers. After spending a lazy afternoon swimming and soaking up those glorious Mediterranean rays, make your way to the nearby Punta Carena Lighthouse to watch the sunset over the sea.

Marina Piccola lies at the bottom of the windy Via Krupp path and serves as the smaller of Capri’s 2 harbors. EXPLORE MOUNT VESUVIUS & THE RUINS OF POMPEII:

Mount Vesuvius dominates the skyline and landscape surrounding Naples and is a legendary volcano that famously erupted in 79 AD and caused the destruction and burial of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Vesuvius stands as the only volcano in mainland Europe that has erupted in the last 100 years – It is considered extremely dangerous due to the amount of human settlements that are situated in its danger zone. Today you can take a bus tour from Naples to visit this magnificent natural phenomenon and climb up its slopes to peer into the crater.

Pompeii was an ancient city that sat in the shadow of the iconic Mount Vesuvius. This settlement was highly advanced and extensive and was destroyed at its peak during the devastating eruption of the volcano in 79 AD. Despite the devastation cause and the amount of lava that poured over the city, Pompeii stands today in a fantastic condition – This is due to the huge layer of ash that was deposited over the partial ruins and thus acted as a preserver. Today you can visit Pompeii and walk through the extensive ruins – Particularly interesting sights include the Amphitheatre, the case del Fauno, the Temple of Apollo and the Temple of Jupiter. Furthermore you can find plaster casts of many of the unfortunate victims who were buried under the ash and remain locked in their death pose for an eternity.

FARM & FOOD EXPERIENCE IN SORRENTO:

You can’t go to Italy without loading up on delicious treats and drinks. And in Sorrento, you especially can’t miss out on the limoncello. This tasty liqueur – made from lemon peels, alcohol, and sugar – is an iconic regional beverage, and you’ll find plenty of opportunities to sample it while in town. At Limoncello Limonoro Di Sorrento production facility run by the Nino & Friends company, you can sample spirits made with lemons picked that same morning. And to see where it all starts, take a tour through the Sorrento Lemon Farm. Walk through the beautiful groves and learn how the fruits are turned into the beloved beverage, as well as desserts, marmalade, and more. You’ll also be able to glimpse the olive trees that help produce the famous cooking oils.

TRY OUT A DIFFERENT SWIMMING EXPERIENCE:

For some truly incredible views while you take a dip, venture out to Bagni Regina Giovanna. The area has a wonderful Roman villa from the 1st century B.C., whose ruins can be easily explored by travelers. But its greatest attraction is certainly the nearby swimming hole. With stunning turquoise-green waters and a sheltered rocky outcropping, this free, natural pool is easily accessible on foot or by bus.

HIKE THE PATH OF THE GODS:

Escape the crowds and make the best of the marvelous views along the coast and out to the island of Capri, on this famous hike (known as Il Sentiero degli Dei, or “path of the gods”) from Bomerano to Nocelle. Originally an ancient mule route, the pathway conjures mythical images of gods and sirens along its 6.5km (4mi) stretch. The landscape is diverse, from tiered agricultural hills to curious caves and precipitous clifftops, plunging down to the beach far below and lapped by a shimmering sea.

GO CLUBBING AT MUSIC ON THE ROCKS:

This dramatic beach-front nightclub could more accurately be called Music in the Rocks, due to being carved out of the rocks that fringe the eastern point of the Spiaggia Grande. Join the dolled-up crowd who flock here for the region’s top DJs, which have been banging out party tunes here since 1972. Considered one of the best clubs on the coast, you can expect high prices, but for the view across the sea and a unique “party in a cave” experience, it’s worth a visit.

disclaimer: this is based on the runways of the brands in the past 2-4 years (some brands will go as far back as 4 years mostly bc i love them sm... some are two years bc i didn't like their creative directors until recent). also i h@t3 k3nz0 but hearing how vernon talks about the brand im choosing to accept his soul binding contract with them. this is also based on if they were to actually have a similar contract like vernon does with kenzo with these brands. meaning they would wear these brands 90% of the time not just for brand events (which is most likely rare bc of how crazy expensive and limiting it is. but just entertain my ideas for this one time)

SEUNGCHEOL – Sacai

Look I know we were expecting me to have him for Vetements or Off White.... And I thought so too. But then I think I want to see him in an elevated version of the silhouettes he sticks close too (boxy/baggy) I think Sacai still has the streetwear aspects of his style all while testing the waters in terms of what we usually sees him ass. Because listen... we've seen the possibilities when he does editorial shoots.

WONWOO – Gucci

Okay listen..... Gucci and Gucci are different. Does that make sense.....? lol Like the Gucci some of us know are 😖 but this Gucci... the one I'm talking about..... It's very 🤌🏼🤌🏼 lmfao Anyways look, Wonwoo is a clean polished guy. He like simple outfits, clean lines, not too flashy – but he also looks good in color. I think this brand will look so so so good on him especially if they were to pull pieces that matches his stage presence well. The potential we would have... wow wow

MINGYU - Givenchy

The day Mingyu and learns how to dress according to proportions and realizes that he can look clean and polished all while mixing texture/prints.... is the day my world will look like it has sunshine rainbows and butterflies Givenchy is literally the perfect brand for him because I know how much he loves his colors and I know how much he loves looking polished when it comes to formal event. It's a brand that I think he could take and run with for at least 2 years.

Hey guys and welcome back! It's Christy again. The 2023 year has been kicking off! This brings a new season full of exciting style moves and inspo to try out. From comeback street styles entering the chat to killer styling twists to covetable textiles. These looks have been seen on the latest runway shows but often what happens outside the shows carries more influence. Seeing people styling trends on the streets are also head turner moments! This can spark inspo to recreate and try out. These pieces can be elevated takes on everyday outfits. And these trends can be versatile so you can always have fun with it and switch up your streetwear looks!

Let's dive in! Into some of the standout streetstyle trends for 2023

The Varsity Jacket

The classic elitist varsity jacket is giving a fresh twist into 2023. As it's been going far beyond your classic bomber jacket. With new styles and extra flare to it with collegiate inspired graphics and patches. The collegiate graphics are even migrating across to sweats, accessories and knitwear. It has been seen recently in the Ivy League adding the preppy style into streetwear that encompasses a new kind of self-expression. Also seen in the recent Kenzo’s Class on the Spring 2023 runway.

There is no denying Y2K’s influence in the streetwear space, with long-length skirts being one of the biggest styles sweeping the streets and the runways. From the cargo with side pockets, to low rises, parachute, and denim versions. Also thrifting a denim maxi skirt would be a great way to get your hands on. The styling options are truly endless! You can pair it with knitwear, longline jackets, oversized button down, crop tops, or a sweatshirt over it.

Motor Jacket/Leather pants

Interest in moto jackets is revving up! Padding, color-blocking and zipper details are tracking for the new year. The style is serving as a key piece. And the runway was a treasure of inspiration, such as Dion Lee and Dior. The trend has also impelled by the release of Rosalia’s Motomami album.
