The blood dripped and it wasn't quiet. Or maybe Summer just wasn't capable of hearing silence anymore. There was a price vampires had to pay for the draining the blood of other vampires. Madness. Their blood became toxic and their minds twisted, unable to feed on anything else while knowing that it would kill them. Every body was a point closer to degrading your mind into dysfunction. Parts of you start to die off, twitching, firing last minute signals.
Twistedd were the mad, who started out confident and cruel. Vampires with maniac glee in their eyes and bloodshed whispering at every breath. To be a mad vampire was to commit a crime you could never come back from. Each step Summer took in the throne room full of corpses echoed. Every sense was a hundred times sharper then they already were. He could feel the buzz of electricity in the walls three halls down. He could see the details of the wall across the room as if it were right in front of him, magnified, and in high definition.
They would call him the Mad King, quite ironically. For Summer's ability was that he could not go mad. He could commit the capital crime and not face punishment, gained the powers of the vampires he drained and not have his mind degrade into dust and goop in a brittle boned shell. His footsteps stop and he hears the faintest echo go through solid wood doors and down two halls. Most people could only hear the first five feet.
The throne is covered in blood, not because it was made by vampires, but because Summer had killed the man sitting in it. He'd dragged the body away and now he sits himself down on the bloody throne, tired, and places a weary crown above his head. With a mental wave, the locked doors open and his eyes meet that of a terrified servant. "I am king," he says, and there is no questioning a man who'd massacred the entire royal court.
Hello!! This is a sorta start for my OC summer, hes the king of vampires in a vampiric kingdom, though we could def worldvuild so that his domain is less vampires n more just that kingdon
In terms of rp theres a couple that I could do (but if you have your own ideas lmk!)
1. Summer brings a Mad vampire into his court
2. Someone challenges Summer's throne
3. An assasin is sent to kill summer
Summer is a very cold kinda detached person, hes a bookworm and also perpetually tired and workaholic in some ways. His court of vampires is entirely full of mad vampires hes rehabbed and taken care of (August, Murdoc, Noxious, Lancelot, Baron) and he kinda singlehanded turned the kingdom from a tyrannical capitalistic rule to a more peaceful and just monarchy (which he intends to eventually make a democracy), but we can throw in your character anywhete in that timline or story
Please dm me if youre interested!! I love worldbuilding and loredumping and oc gushing!!

Konrad Adenauer
Tumblr media
The first chancellor of West Germany, Konrad Hermann Joseph Adenauer (1876-1967) who is largely responsible for Germany's current status as a prosperous and well-respected nation after World War II.
A successful politician during World War I and the Interbellum period, he only lost his job in 1933 when the Nazis would not work with him (his previous strategy had been to attempt to compromise with and then largely ignore the Nazis as mayor of Cologne--this resulted in his dismissal and the freezing of all his bank accounts). Adenauer was imprisoned for two days after the Night of Long Knives (a series of extrajudicial executions in summer 1934) and spent two years changing residences and living with friends for fear of reprisals. He was imprisoned again in 1944 and nearly deported.
After the end of World War II, the American occupation forces reinstalled him as Mayor of Cologne, but he was dismissed by the British. After this, but without living in fear, Adenauer began building a new political party, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), his influence led him to be chosen to help draft the new German constitution, the "Basic Law" in 1949, and became the first head of government.
As Chancellor of West Germany, Adenauer focused on integrating with the West (most notably joining NATO), but empowering the German economy and industry. Controversially, Adenauer opposed denazification (but preferred reparations for victims of Nazis).
Germany today is a powerful, peaceful, and respected world leader. Much of this is due to the cunning and dedicated work of Konrad Adenauer.

LBJ in Berlin delivers a msg from JFK to Berlin people, Aug 1961, “dare to the end to do our duty”
The one instance in which LBJ played more than a peripheral role in foreign affairs was during a crisis over Berlin in August 1961. An exodus of many of the best-trained citizens from East Germany through Berlin moved the Communists to build a wall sealing off the eastern part of the city. Unclear as to whether this was a prelude to more aggressive action against West Berlin, unwilling to order an assault against the wall, as some in Germany asked, and eager to counter demoralization in the American, British, and French zones, Kennedy ordered Johnson to make a symbolic trip to Berlin.
Johnson was reluctant to go. He believed that such a `journey might produce more recrimination over U.S. weakness than hope that America intended to stand up to Soviet expansion. If he were right, as the President's representative, he would then take some, if not much, of the heat for a gesture that was too little and too late. Kennedy ordered 1500 U.S. troops to move from West Germany to West Berlin as a show of American determination. But believing this was insufficient to boost morale in West Berlin, he wanted Johnson to make a very public appearance in the city as a demonstration "to the Russians that Berlin was an ultimate American commitment."
Despite his doubts, Johnson took on the assignment with characteristic energy and preparation. He stayed up all night on his transAtlantic flight discussing his itinerary and speeches that would give meaning to his trip. Landing in Bonn, where West German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer met him, Johnson refused to be drawn into the current election campaign between Adenauer and West Berlin Mayor Willy Brandt. He refused Adenauer's request to travel together to West Berlin. Instead, he focused on giving the West German crowd greeting him a message from President Kennedy that America was "determined to fulfill all our obligations and to honor all our commitments." We will "dare to the end to do our duty."
Johnson's trip to West Berlin was a triumphal tour. After an eighty-minute flight to Tempelhof Airport, LBJ rode to the city center in an open car cheered by 100,000 spectators. Stopping repeatedly to shake hands with the people lining the curbs, he was greeted with unmistakable enthusiasm. At City Hall, where 300,000 Berliners had gathered, he declared himself in Berlin at the direction of President Kennedy to convey the same commitment that "our ancestors pledged in forming the United States: `Our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.'" The wall, Johnson presciently declared, was a testimony to Communism's failure. This was not a time for despair, but for understanding that "in the long run this unwise effort will fail.... This is a time, then, for confidence, for poise, and for faith--for faith in yourselves. It is also a time for faith in your allies, everywhere throughout the world. This island does not stand alone."
The next day, Sunday morning at 9 a.m., Johnson and General Lucius Clay, former High Commissioner for Berlin, who Kennedy had asked to join the Vice President, went to the Helmstedt entrance to West Berlin, where they waited the arrival of the 1500 troops traveling along a 104-mile stretch of Autobahn. President Kennedy, who normally spent his summer weekends in Hyannis Port, stayed in Washington to await word of the convoy's unimpeded arrival. When the column of tanks and troops reached the city at 10 a.m., Berliners greeted them with shouts, tears, and flowers. The commanding officer remembered the occasion as "the most exciting and impressive thing I've ever seen in my life, with the possible exception of the liberation of Paris." The moment was the capstone of what LBJ saw as his most successful vice-presidential mission abroad.

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm but to add color to my sunset sky.
Hope is the things with feathers that perches in the soul- and sing the tunes without the words- and never stop at all.
Good clean fun in the dirt.
You are the sky. Everything else - it's just the weather.

I won't give up. Even if the skies get rough.
The sky is an infinity movie for me. I never get tired of looking at what's happening up there.
Cloud suits my mood just fine.

So now you won't acknowledge any gods/except the ones we do—Chaos, the Clouds,/the Tongue—just these three?
I don't see any black clouds on the horizon.
Cloud-friendly.
The sky is the daily bread of the eye.
Not a breath of air stirred over the free and open prairie, the could be like light piles of cotton; and where the blues sky was visible. It wore a hazy and languid aspect.

The more we restore detail to the German reparations project the less applicable it becomes to the American debate. The Luxembourg Agreement of 1952 – reached between Adenauer’s government and the state of Israel, along with representatives of the Jewish Claims Conference – and the legislation that followed it, the Additional Federal Compensation Act of 1953, didn’t apply to Jews in general, or to their descendants, or to the tens of millions of other victims of the Nazi regime. Under the agreement Germany paid Israel compensation for resettling half a million Jewish refugees. The use of the money was severely restricted: most of it could be used only to purchase goods produced in Germany – telephone systems, electrical generators, railway sleepers, chemicals. There is no question that this was good for the new Jewish state as well as for German business, and it improved the standing of the Bundesrepublik with its Allied occupiers. But it has little relevance for those in the US who want to think about how reparations for slavery could be arranged.
A revised Federal Compensation Act in 1956 also offered reparations to a narrowly delineated subset of German Jews who had suffered specific sorts of ill-treatment and to their surviving dependants. Claims had to be filed by the end of 1969. Over the next fifty years other groups became eligible for reparations, each with a different compensation schedule. The last large-scale payments were agreed late in 1999 after a series of lawsuits were brought in the US on behalf of people who had worked as forced and slave labourers during the war, as well as claimants against various German insurance companies and banks. Hundreds of lawyers and functionaries representing clients with divergent interests came up with a schedule of payments with which no one was happy. By the time the fund was established in 2000, 10 per cent of those who might have benefited were dead.
The Foundation for Remembrance, Responsibility and the Future paid out €4.45 billion, and was jointly financed by the German government and 6500 Germany companies. Smaller amounts are still being distributed: in 2018 the Claims Conference and the German government announced that there would be a one-off payment of €2500 to each of the few remaining survivors of the Kindertransport. But many of those who had suffered most were beyond reparations, including the rabbis who were murdered with their congregations in the forests of Ukraine or the death camps of Poland. The German rabbis who managed to escape to safety were given back pay or pensions as the civil servants they had been, or reparations for lost personal property if they could document chair by chair and fork by fork what had been taken from them. The chasm between suffering and recompense was vast.
I need to declare an interest here: a coming to terms with my own past. As a child of the German Jewish diaspora I lived in some intimacy with the Wiedergutmachung, the German reparations. There was a lot of talk in my family and among our friends about finding documents that would establish eligibility and prove damages; there was a lot of talk about who got how much and what for. There was general agreement that the single biggest determinant of success in obtaining reparations was the effectiveness of your lawyer. I don’t remember there being any of the moral fervour that informs the debate about reparations to African Americans for slavery. But an elegiac sadness was attached to the country they had lost: every household in my parents’ circles in the US and England and Israel had copies of Goethe and Schiller. For them, an inner Germany remained: ‘Die Schweine’ – the swine – had captured their Germany, the real Germany, but it remained the home of the soul even if return was impossible, just as the South has remained home to some of the African Americans who left it.
My cousin Gunther emigrated to Holland with his mother, my father’s oldest sister, after Hitler came to power. In the summer of 1943, when he was 22 and she was 44, they were caught up in one of a series of raids on Amsterdam’s Jewish areas. Gunther, wearing a leather bomber jacket of the sort the SS favoured, started shouting abuse at his fellow Jews, was presumably mistaken for a German, and allowed to walk away. At least, that’s how he tells the story. He never saw his mother again. He lived underground for nearly two years until Amsterdam was liberated in early May 1945. His mother was murdered at Sobibor on 9 July 1943. Gunther fell between the stools of eligibility for reparations: too young for a profession, he couldn’t get reparations for his career being interrupted; being between high school and university when the war began, he couldn’t argue that his studies had been interrupted.
My grandmother never quite believed that her daughter had been murdered: she was somewhere in ‘the East’, she claimed. I’m not sure she was ever told what had become of her own older sister: the Yad Vashem database says only that she was ‘murdered in the Shoah’; according to Red Cross records, she received a care package in Terezín. Maybe she died there. My grandmother escaped to Turkey in December 1939 with all her possessions in a couple of suitcases. She had no documentation for her Bechstein grand piano, which had kept her in Germany until it was almost too late, or for the other possessions she’d left behind, and so had no chance of proving a claim for material losses. The law held that German citizens whose relatives could be shown to ‘have been killed or driven to death within eight months of persecution’ were eligible to apply for reparations, but only if the person killed had been the family’s primary breadwinner. My grandmother got a share of the pension due to her husband as director of the health insurance system in Hamburg.
On the scale of Holocaust suffering my family’s was modest. But those who had suffered far more got proportionally much less. My colleague Paula Fass, the child of camp survivors, has written about discovering her ghost family, the families her mother and father lost before they met in a displaced persons’ camp in Germany and started anew. These were the families of which they would not speak. Her mother sent off her nine-year-old son with a bit of bread in a sack she had sewn when he was taken from the children’s ghetto in Lodz to be murdered on 4 September 1942; her then husband was murdered later. Paula’s father, his first wife and four children – aged between ten and fifteen – were transported to Auschwitz when the Lodz ghetto was liquidated in August 1944. Only he survived, and there is no record of when the rest of his family was killed: ‘presumed murdered’ is all the Yad Vashem database says. By that point, in 1944, the Germans were murdering and burning Jews at the rate of ten thousand a day and their record-keeping had slipped. I asked Paula whether her parents received any reparations. They had: for impairment to their health. He was judged 40 per cent disabled; she 30 per cent, the lowest level for which compensation was available. Their eligibility had to be recertified every year by a German doctor.

1945-1990 West Germany
After Germany surrendered, the Allies partitioned Berlin and Germany's remaining territory into four military occupation zones. The western sectors, controlled by France, the United Kingdom, and the United States, were merged on 23 May 1949 to form the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesrepublik Deutschland); on 7 October 1949, the Soviet Zone became the German Democratic Republic (Deutsche Demokratische Republik). They were informally known as West Germany and East Germany. East Germany selected East Berlin as its capital, while West Germany chose Bonn as a provisional capital, to emphasize its stance that the two-state solution was an artificial and temporary status quo.
West Germany was established as a federal parliamentary republic with a "social market economy". Starting in 1948 West Germany became a major recipient of reconstruction aid under the Marshall Plan and used this to rebuild its industry. Konrad Adenauer was elected the first Federal Chancellor (Bundeskanzler) of Germany in 1949 and remained in office until 1963. Under his and Ludwig Erhard's leadership, the country enjoyed prolonged economic growth beginning in the early 1950s, that became known as an "economic miracle" (Wirtschaftswunder). The Federal Republic of Germany joined NATO in 1955 and was a founding member of the European Economic Community in 1957.
East Germany was an Eastern Bloc state under political and military control by the USSR via occupation forces and the Warsaw Pact. Although East Germany claimed to be a democracy, political power was exercised solely by leading members (Politbüro) of the communist-controlled Socialist Unity Party of Germany, supported by the Stasi, an immense secret service controlling many aspects of the society. A Soviet-style command economy was set up and the GDR later became a Comecon state. While East German propaganda was based on the benefits of the GDR's social programmes and the alleged constant threat of a West German invasion, many of its citizens looked to the West for freedom and prosperity. The Berlin Wall, rapidly built on 13 August 1961 prevented East German citizens from escaping to West Germany, eventually becoming a symbol of the Cold War. Ronald Reagan's "Mr. Gorbachov, Tear down this wall!" speech at the Wall on 12 June 1987 influenced public opinion, echoing John F. Kennedy's famous Ich bin ein Berliner speech of 26 June 1963. The fall of the Wall in 1989 became a symbol of the Fall of Communism, the Dissolution of the Soviet Union, German Reunification and Die Wende.
Tensions between East and West Germany were reduced in the early 1970s by Chancellor Willy Brandt's Ostpolitik. In summer 1989, Hungary decided to dismantle the Iron Curtain and open the borders, causing the emigration of thousands of East Germans to West Germany via Hungary. This had devastating effects on the GDR, where regular mass demonstrations received increasing support. The East German authorities eased the border restrictions, allowing East German citizens to travel to the West; originally intended to help retain East Germany as a state, the opening of the border actually led to an acceleration of the Wende reform process. This culminated in the Two Plus Four Treaty a year later on 12 September 1990, under which the four occupying powers renounced their rights under the Instrument of Surrender, and Germany regained full sovereignty. This permitted German reunification on 3 October 1990, with the accession of the five re-established states of the former GDR.

Personality rundown of Summer!! What does he like, dislike, hobbies etc! TELL ME ABOUT YOUR SON!!
Summer Adenaur
Tumblr media
Summer is a very pretty boi and he's a vampire. When he was turned is a mystery, though local theorists (the other people who work at the shop/Katie & Maxim) believe it was probably the victorian ages or whenever the black plague was around.
Summer likes the colours yellow and black and is fond of bees and books. He dislikes being called sunny and is a very quiet person. He works at a small shop owned by a man named Noximus, which sells books, candles, and other similar things. He is a cashier and little is known about him because he is very quiet.
Sometimes, rather then being put on cashier duty, his prettiness earns him a spot on the window display, where he sits at a small table and reads a book. This is common, especially among vampire/human cities.
Summer himself does not have many hobbies others know about. But he likes to read and do calligraphy and learn new words. Summer is not an outright rude person, but he is sort of a deadpan in a sense. He's not shy, necessarily, just not very caring for new people. It's very rare to see him smile.

ISRAEL READY TO RECEIVE NORTH AMERICAN IMMIGRANTS
Tumblr media
Possibly due to increased anti-Semitism, American Jewish families are ready to make the move to Israel. Nefesh B’Nefesh is an organization that helps facilitate aliyah, immigration to Israel. In the last two months, they have seen a 300% increase in aliyah requests. Many requests are from families that are planning to come this summer. After seeing how Israel handled the coronavirus pandemic, they have made the decision to return home. Many of them are young, with an average age of just 28. Several dozen are medical professionals. Since the start of the pandemic, more than 100 people have already braved the trip and immigrated to Israel. Israel can’t wait for the rest of them to come home!
Israel hit by wildfires, heatstroke amid extreme heat wave
Tumblr media
 16 May 2020 (Youtube)
Residents of an immigrant absorption center in Beersheba are living through the heat wave without air conditioning. The extreme heat wave that has affected Israel since Sunday, continued on Wednesday, with a number of wildfires breaking out in southern Israel and multiple reports of heat stroke.
Temperatures over 104F (40C) were reported throughout most of the country. Mekorot, Israel’s water company, reported water consumption in the country increased by 32% due to the heat wave on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday both in the agriculture sector and in drinking water.
Houses were evacuated near Rahat and Route 254 was closed after a wild fire broke out in the area. Five crews from Israel Fire and Rescue services are fighting the flames at the scene. The fire threatened shacks and storage buildings, but was brought under control. (By TZVI JOFFRE, MAY 20, 2020)

The poll surveyed the attitudes of Israelis, Americans, “Palestinians”, Germans, British, Italian and Poles regarding Covid-19. Roughly 500 people from each country were surveyed between April 28-May 9. The study’s average margin of error was +/- 4.33%.
About 34% of Jewish Israelis said that their faith in God has increased as a result of the coronavirus crisis. Roughly 39% of Americans said that their faith in God grew as well. By comparison, just 19% of Germans, 22% of Italians, 22% of Poles and 18% of British felt the same. One of the questions asked was what they wished for. Many Israelis, and Americans answered that they hoped the pandemic would lead “everyone to know God and who is in control.” Furthermore, when asked what coronavirus means to them, some responded saying that “God is trying to tell me something.”
Israeli pollster and Keecoon CEO Mitchell Barak, who heads Keecoon, reported that there was no formal explanation for the increased repentance, but he speculated that it may have had to do with the time of year as the coronavirus crisis hit Israel during both the Purim and Passover holidays. Each holiday is centered around miracles. (By David Sidman, BIN, May 20, 2020)
