It's been more than a month and many people are still unable to accept the fact that jimin and jungkook has enlisted together using companion system/Buddy program. They are two friends, one of the two closest friends actually for more than a decade so it actually shouldn't be that hard to accept it unless you think these two are not even friends.

There are many many taekookers and many jk solos who still belive that just because jungkook hasn't said "i do rely on jimin" means he doens't rely on jimin so for people like those let me tell you, the Buddy program itself implies that both individuals in Buddy program rely on eachother, there's no need for neither jm nor jk to say it out loud cause the main purpose of it is "RELYING ON EACHOTHER" for mental stability. Idk if y'all are actually this dumb or y'all just wanna cope with something since it's getting hard for y'all to accept it. "But jungkook hasn't said-" it actually doens't matter if he says it out loud cause the process, the name itself is enough. If he didn't need anyone to rely on or if he wanted to enlist with some other BTS members he is capable enough to do that. This man has said it multiple times that he does what HE WANTS and no one can tell him otherwise.

I read a tweet saying "if jungkook didn't get the unit he wanted then you know who held him back" this was them implying that jm begged jk to enlist with him and jk is some spinless puppy who can't do decide for his own so he went with jimin like i want y'all to go outside your shipping bubble for 10 min and say this to some people and i can guarantee you they simply gonna call you mental on your face cause that's what it's giving. See there's two options, you either Accept that jungkook is spinless human who can't think for himself or he loves jimin too much to deny him anything as lots of you people believe jm begged and jk accepted (Cause saying yes to enlist with someone for 18 months even though you don't want to means you should love that person too much) OR simply accept the fact that jimin and jungkook are two close friends who enlisted together according to their own will without anyone forcing them to do anything.

And if anyone think "jk had no option" then you're completely wrong there's many accounts who update on military service which has made it very clear that there are options for both of them to enlist individually but jimin and jungkook still decided to do it together so accept it as it is without making a fuss about it even after a whole month cause that's screaming stupidity and insecurity and nothing else.

Omg finally someone else knows about the Charmie ship, I was starting to think it was a fever dream that I dreamt up lol. People always bring up Taekook and Larry as examples of bad shipping practices but Charmies were delusional too. It’s interesting how these problematic ships have specific terminology associated with them/their industry. Larry had a ‘beard’, Taekook had an opposing ‘fanservice’ ship and Charmie had a ‘PR relationships’. Observing the ships of especially higher profile celebs/idols is so interesting to witness because it highlights the patriarch society we live in. Like you mentioned, these ships really display how women consciously/subconsciously hate on other women they perceive to be threats to their ship or fantasy. The enemy of these ships are usually women (Harry+Louis+Timothee+Armie’s girlfriends/wives) or men that they feminize (Jimin). Interesting topic.

You made an interesting observation at the end regarding Jimin. The taekook narrative is different in comparison to other big slash ships because the so called "enemy" has a different gender. For larry or charmie, the woman is the intruder so hating her it's like an automatic response. She's there to disrupt the fantasy and also expose the fantasy at the same time.

Because the result is that the shippers are more interested in actively fetishizing a gay relationship and gay men. They are fascinated with it, although at the same time they apply heteronormative definitions to it. One is the woman with any particular gender stereotypes, the other one is the man, with its own set of gender stereotypes. This is then transposed into the way they write fanfiction, how they draw the couple. They have the obsession with coming out, of praying for their eternal love. Once you see such vocabulary, it makes it all more clear. And then something happens, a woman comes into play and that's a problem. They already have the woman, the feminized version of one of the men in the ship, which is acceptable because it's a product of their imagination and a self insert at the same time.

Now, taekookers are having to deal with a bigger problem. Their biggest threat in their view is in this case a man. That disrupts the fantasy even more. So in order to make it all work, they have to change how they view that man. They need to reduce him, to strip him of his masculinity because his masculinity puts him as equal as those other two men. And him being an equal makes it a threat. Because in the case of taekook where the shippers believe that Tae and JK are in love with each other and that makes them automatically attracted to the same gender, hence gay (I'm just telling how their fantasy works), it means that there is the possibility of Jungkook (never Tae) to be attracted to Jimin. Because he is a man. That's why ships involving Tae/JK and a woman do not pose a "real" threat in the eyes of the shippers. They laugh at it because they truly believe JK and Tae are together. But by believing that, they are also aware, deep down, that Jungkook as a presumably gay man, could also be attracted to another man - Jimin.

So because this is such an unacceptable scenario, they have to femininize Jimin. He cannot be seen at the same level of a gay man as JK and Tae. Hating Jimin in that position would reveal that they can be homophobic and how they mostly fetishize a gay relationship. In turn, Jimin is portrayed as a woman. A woman that can be hated, the type that through the patriarchal conditioning, is seen as a threat to other women. For example, the femme fatale, the seductress, the slut, the whore. All words used by taekookers. Sometimes they latch onto made up rumors in which they return Jimin his masculinity if it involves some woman, or him supposedly becoming a father. But that doesn't happen often. Jimin is also seen as a man who could be gay only when once again, they find another man to ship him with. Be it Yoongi, or his friends in his private life. In both these scenarios, Jimin can be a man and attracted to other men. But the minute he is next to Jungkook, he cannot be that anymore. He is no longer potentially a man with whom Jungkook may cheat, but a home wrecker, which is usually a term used for women. Jimin's feminine qualities which show up in his behavior in a positive sense (he is more nurturing, he is in tune with his emotions, etc) are completely dismissed. He is patriarchaly feminized.

Taennie or Taekook? It's neither.

So, some of my thoughts on this whole taennie thing... You can't say "nothing is confirmed/real until Taehyung says so" and "Taekook is real" in the same breath. You're contradicting yourself. To mention my previous post on shipping, I still firmly stand by what I said: I think it's fine to have your suspicions/suspect that something is real, but you are to take the opinions and words of BTS/BlackPink at face value and accept them for what they are. You can think that Taehyung is dating Jennie, but it's still their private life (and yes, enunciating their, because many people tend to forget that Jennie is very much a part of this equation), so their words (or the lack thereof) should be respected and considered the truth.

Fans should never speak in absolutes about things they cannot necessarily confirm to be true.

(also using 0.0023 seconds of eye-contact as proof (but they're just so full of love, OP!) is extremely silly and needs to stop. are you a trained pupil specialist? get your ass a career in optometry!)

Furthermore, if we are to apply this situation outside of a heteronormative lens, one could argue that handholding between any gender can be seen as platonic or romantic. A woman holding a man's hand does not necessarily mean they're involved, the same way that a man holding another man's hand doesn't mean they're dating. It's almost as if many different types of relationships exist -- and even if certain actions fall within the expectations of a society/culture, nothing is entirely concrete. K-pop fans are far too comfortable with blatantly saying "In Korea--" or "Koreans think--" without actually ever stepping foot within Korea or acclimating themselves to the many vibrant colors of the Korean culture and people.

You can make guesstimates, hypotheses, or speculations based on the evidence at hand, but without running a proper trial(s) or getting information from a primary source, your evidence cannot be declared as fact. It's basic science. Good luck calling Taehyung up and asking if he's dating worldwide pop sensation Kim Jennie or Jeon Jungkook.

Even if there appears to be a 99% chance of something being true, we should still take into consideration that 1% of it is still left unaccounted for.

So is Taekook real? No. Is Taennie real? No. If Taehyung tells us that he's dating the moon, we should congratulate him for falling into its orbit. End of story.

Proof is in the pudding that a majority of taekookers bias Taehyung only. If there any taekookers that bias Jk at least they have the decency to respect Taehyung unlike Taehyung biased taekookers. I have been following your blog for probably since August and it feels like there already has been 10 asks being discouraging about Jk's work. Whether it is about being English, cringe, didn't like the sound. That's great everyone can have a different opinion but where are the critical opinions on Taehyung's album. I have only seen one and it was my own ask. It feels like only reason why people feel obligated to have an opinion on Jk is because they hate him with how every issue with Taehyung gets connected to Jk.

Hi anon, I really don't think that a few taekookers having a negative opinion about Jungkook's album is proof that the majority of them bias Tae or that they don't respect Jungkook. I know plenty of Tae biased taekookers who love and adore Jungkook just as much as they do Tae, so your statement is simply incorrect. It's perfectly normal to not like everything our favourite artists put out. And if I remember correctly, none of those asks were mean or rude about Jungkook, they were just giving their honest opinion.

Jungkook's album was very different from anything he has previously released before, and he explained that he was experimenting with new styles and genres. So of course that's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. I think there was probably less criticism for Layover due to the fact that it was exactly the kind of music people expect from Tae. And don't forget that just because there wasn't much criticism for it on here, doesn't mean there wasn't any elsewhere.

I think the more experimental an artist is with their sound, the higher the chance the fans won't like it as much, because it just isn't what they're used to. And Golden was very different. But not liking his album has absolutely nothing to do with how someone feels about Jungkook as a person, anon, and it certainly doesn't mean they hate him. I think it's perfectly acceptable for people to be as critical and as honest as they want as long as they keep it respectful.

The actions of a fan subunit called Taekookers are spreading a video taken by an individual at the event on a South Korean Military Base, involving families and friends of Taehyung. RM and other enlistees in a private event to celebrate their enlistment are deeply concerned. This inappropriate romanticizing of Jungkook and Taehyung in the videos compounds the gravity of the situation. I possess a comprehensive record of the User IDs involved in this incident on "X" (formerly Twitter), and I am treating this matter as a serious criminal offense. (User IDs involved are attached in video format.) Although the original poster (unknown) who was at the enlistment celebration event released the video on Social Media platforms, has removed the video, a Taekooker has captured and disseminated it.

I had contemplated taking steps to submit the evidence to South Korea's Ministry of Defense, the President of South Korea, and the Cyber Police Unit in South Korea. However, I have decided to reach out to Big Hit Music, with whom BTS has a contract, and inform them about the unauthorized video that is spreading vastly among the fans. I understand that Big Hit Music has the resources and legal teams to address such issues on behalf of the artists. My concern, as an ex-military wife, extends beyond the artists to the enlistees who were also with family and friends. It is crucial to emphasize that this issue extends beyond being a Big Hit Music problem; it now implicates the South Korean Government.

I understand the protocols when on and off a Military Base in the United States as my former husband was in the military.  I also did my research of the protocols for the South Korean military bases.  I am aware that during military enlistment celebrations in South Korea, there are certain protocols and guidelines to follow, particularly when it comes to taking photos or videos on the military base.  Military bases have designated restricted areas, and photography or videography may be strictly prohibited in certain areas.   That in other areas of the base could involve obtaining clearance from the appropriate authorities.

I raised awareness on Social Media Platforms encouraging fans and followers to refrain from sharing or engaging with unauthorized content. Raising awareness within the BTS fan community can help limit the spread of the video.
