Do you celebrate Lunar New Year 🎉? Tonight, I zipped over to Kau Kau 🥢, the best Chinese BBQ joint in Seattle’s Chinatown. It’s a family favorite that @rikiyamada4 & I enjoyed last year when he was in Seattle. While waiting for my takeout order 🥡, I remembered that the restaurant might have a copy of the final print issue of NW Asian Weekly 📰. The free paper, founded by Assunta Ng, has been a source of information to the Asian community for 41 years. It’s going to be completely online next month. The cover illustration spotlights the coming Lunar New Year Does your city celebrate Lunar New Year 🧨? Lunar New Year 🧧, also known as Chinese New Year 🇨🇳, marks the beginning of a new lunar calendar. 2023, the year of the rabbit 🐰, the fourth animal in the 12-year Chinese zodiac. People born in the year of the rabbit are said to be gentle, friendly 👋, creative & are good at building relationships 🤗. Are you a rabbit 🐇? Does this sound like you? Seattle celebrates the Lunar New Year in the historic Chinatown-International District neighborhood ⛩️ with cultural events & lots of family-friendly activities 🐉. I remember first going with @peggyyaplee when we were kids. She turned me on to deep-fried prawns. They were amazing. Today we had the privledge of working with the Orchid Weaver Women. Weavers who love dying & weaving from the Dulan Amis tribe. We were able to work alongside them, learning the plant medicines & technologies of nature. 

The women make localised works with a deep knowledge of the Amis culture. This collboration fosters & continues the spirit of mutual support & companionship within the tribe. Today was our first day of collaboration through the processes of natural fibre art that will become a central part of All The Good Dreams For Women exhibition for the  We/Women's Boundary Narrative ~ Continuity, Flow and Convergence at the Taitung Art Museum in July

While it often felt like I wasn't a part of society, there were times and people that made me feel more than welcome in this democracy. ��完在地味道十足的草民， 就開始離開台東最後的四個小時的吃甜甜快閃海線之旅， 首站直接殺到東河， 這家店就在金樽的海邊， 但可惜我無法下水， 不然我第一天就在這了， 因為我第一天的第一個行程就是在這附近的馬武窟溪玩立槳， 然後就是來這裡秋一下， 但因為颱風下雨的關係， 什麼都沒了。 但沒關係， 我還是來吃了，
沒有遺憾了！ 這家也是走一個複合式的經營， 有點像是之前台南的「 癮。寓 」很多手工編織的飾品， 然後最秋的部分就是有一個像是榻榻米的區域， 可以舒服的放懶得躺在懶骨頭上， 然後享受下午的悠閒時刻。 ｜OREO 巴斯克 / 海鹽鮮奶油 他們家的巴斯克乳酪蛋糕的奶味比較明顯， 然後Oreo 的甜味是蠻突出的， 但是搭上帶有很明顯鹹味的海鹽鮮奶油， 可以降低甜味， 也讓味道更有層次。 他們的口感算是綿密的， 不是粉感的， 不是中間有明顯的流心感， 也是不錯吃。 ｜可麗露 他們的可麗露上桌後， 放置個3-5分鐘後再吃， 可以吃到微微的酥脆感， 雖然不是整顆外表都酥脆的， 但是有微微的酥脆感還是給過， 雖然我一開始覺得他的外表給我的感覺是不酥脆的。 然後他裡面是比較軟嫩的口感， 不算是太紮實的口感， 然後甜度也還好， 不會說太過甜膩。 ｜部落糯米酒氣泡飲 這次來台東， 發現每家店都把部落風味帶入自家的餐點內， 從主食、調酒、到甜點店的飲料都跟人做了連結， 所以當來到海廢咖啡翻開menu時， 就讓我看到這款加了部落糯米酒的氣泡飲時， 二話不說當然是直接點起來。 他喝起來的確是帶有明顯的酒香及酒感， 但都是淡淡的， 畢竟他不是調酒， 不能夠把酒的比重放得太重， 以免走調。 他主要的味道就是糯米酒， 喝起來時是有明顯但是舒服的酒感， 然後帶有微甜的， 搭配他的氣泡水的氣泡感不那麼強烈， 所以即使大口一點喝， 也不會有那種不舒服的氣泡感。 而且還可以吃到釀造出糯米酒的酒糟本人， 是個很特別又在地的飲品。 還蠻推薦給不愛氣泡感太強烈的人， 跟可以接受酒的人來嚐鮮一下。 可惜不能久待， 不然好想去近在眼前的金樽海邊啊， 還有沒去成的立槳， 雖然帶著遺憾的心離開這邊， 但這樣下次就有在來的藉口～ #台東 #台東東河小店 #台東特色小店 #台東甜點 #台東下午茶 #海廢咖啡 #金樽海邊 #台東金樽 #手工甜點 #特色飲品 #部落飲品 #北極是吃貨 #可麗露 #巴斯克起司蛋糕 #basquecheesecake #canele #sparklingdrink #taitung #popdaily #poptaitung #popyummy #pop台東 #糯米酒 https://www.instagram.com/p/CndQWX5P4Jb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
