February 15th marks 3 important anniversaries for Gravity Falls…alongside it's conclusion!

On this day 6 years ago, Alex Hirsch revealed the cover to Lost Legends via Puzzling Pines! 11 years ago, Boss Mabel aired, marking the end of the first major hiatus. And 8 years ago, Weirdmageddon 3 aired…ending Gravity Falls & leaving behind one weird but incredible legacy!

Who would've thought the day Gravity Falls came back in 2013 would be the day it ends on 3 years later…and then again 2 years later is the day we learn the name of the then newest content we were getting for it.

Also like every year, I highly recommend watching this incredible GF tribute video by Valkyrie247 In 2017!

We all have our starting point in the Gravity Falls fandom! A bedrock that built our place in it today! This video was my entry into the fandom! It inspired me so much back in 2017 and is the bedrock video that I built my GF fandom adventure on! Please give it some love! I wouldn't do what I do today without creators like Valkyrie247!!

I was just thinking about the finale and…what on Earth must have been going through Stan’s mind, in those few minutes we don’t see between the hugging scene and the return to the Mystery Shack? Bad enough to realize you are surrounded by strangers in the middle of nowhere, then to realize they all seem to know you when you don’t know them, and then to realize you don’t know yourself, either…and then, apparently, Strange Weepy Suit Man demands your clothes and glasses?

Like, I know why, from an animation standpoint, Stan and Ford were back in their usual attire by the second scene. I also know why the show did not acknowledge this switch back in any way - it couldn’t help but introduce the scene to at least some degree of farce, and while real life has those farcical interludes in the midst of tragedy, it would have just been in poor taste to stick one in *there,* in *that scene,* in literature…but I just can’t help but wonder about what it all looked like from Stan’s point of view. First this total stranger, who is apparently dressed completely inappropriately for the middle of a forest, declares probably-you (‘Stan’ rings no bells, but people keep looking at you when they say it…) a hero and gets weepy-huggy about it. Uncomfortable. Then in the midst of it, he asks for his sweater and glasses back, and after a five-second delay you realize he’s referring to your things and also, therefore, trying to persuade you to wear a suit jacket in the middle of an overgrown forest in the middle of nowhere, as if that made any sense….

Or maybe Stan complained about the crack in ‘his’ glasses and this led to attempts to explain that ‘his’ things weren’t actually his. Either way, though…dang.

So, yeah. These are the kinds of pointless details that keep me awake at night.

Gravity Falls 10th Anniversary in Watercolour

Well, I know this is a day late but the time has come for this wonderful show to be a decade old. Personally, Gravity Falls is in my top three all-time favourite series. I remember the first time I watched the series was in 2014 and I absolutely enjoyed it. Not only Gravity Falls incorporates a great storyline and characters, there were some absolutely hilarious jokes. Gravity Falls is a very special show to me and it has a positive impact on me. I hope one day I get to meet Alex Hirsch to show my appreciation for this wonderful show.                     I do admit this drawing is not the best because I used watercolour. Watercolour is incredibly difficult to master and I am very new to the medium.                     Bill Cipher, Dipper and Mabel Pines are owned by Alex Hirsch and Disney TVA

I've combed the episode multiple times but I just. Can't find the scene im thinking of

It was a scene where an eyebat flies next to the gobblewonker head, slightly behind, and the gobblewonker head turns around and blasts fire at it, causing it to dissolve into ash

Is this just a weird made up memory or do other people remember this happening???

Here’s how I want robin in the next battinson movie:

The very first scene is Bruce and tiny Dick Grayson sitting across from each other at the dining table, staring each other down in silence, both clearly grumpy about it. Alfred is in the background watching them with concern. The silence lasts about 20 seconds before Dick speaks.

“Let me fight crime.” (said with all the petulance of a pouty 10 year old)

Bruce replies immediately. “No.” (this is clearly an ongoing argument)

Immediately cut to the next scene where Dick, wearing the iconic Robin suit, is having the time of his life swinging across the city while Bruce frantically tries to keep up with him while yelling at him to be careful like an anxious mother

To think, it's been so long since it ended! 7 years ago today, we bid farewell to the sleepy little town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. But while we said goodbye, we never forgot the adventure or memories!

Even a decade on since it began in 2012 and 7 since it ended, Gravity Falls still commands a level of respect and relevancy that few other cartoons can even match...let alone reach! It's still an icon and a show that helped pave the way for a new age of cartoons! A true pioneer show and still the cream of the crop! I'm still proud to say I'm a fan of this show! Gravity Falls changed my life so much, as it likely did for so many! The positive impact it has had on so many of us is something that imo makes it more valuable and important a series, regardless of your thoughts on it as a show!

There will be cartoons out there that some will say are better than Gravity Falls and ones that improve on things from it! But Gravity Falls will always be Gravity Falls! And the memories, stories & its fandom are irreproducible...and an aspect of it none of us will EVER forget!

The defintion of hell is knowing a show is incredibly well-received in its first season, but if people don’t become machines churning out tweets, content, and rewatching 24/7, there’s no likelihood it’ll get a chance to tell its whole story. This shit is madness. Shows in different genres shouldn’t have to pit-battle for dominance. First seasons are MEANT to be baselines establishing worlds and characters, not complete storylines. The idea that this golden age of television has turned into “get it done in one or get out” is revolting.
