Hi! I was reading one of your my hero fics and was curious what your sexuality headcanons are for the characters? Thanks!
Hello!
Firstly, I hope you enjoyed reading my stories. I wrote them a bit ago now but I'm glad you still took the time to read them.
(Also so sorry it took me this long to respond! I got busy with my coursework and the world situation has been taking a toll on me)
My headcanons for the characters, at least the ones that I’ve either written or thought about are:
Hawks/Keigo Takami: Bisexual. Doesn't really have a preference for what gender, just likes pretty people who catch his eye.
Best Jeanist/Tsunagu Hakamada: Panromantic-Demisexual. He's a particular man so, for him to be attracted to somebody, he needs to be able to mesh with their personality. If he can't, then all attraction flies out the window. I also don't consider him to be able to just sleep around with anybody (especially after Kamino Ward) so he needs that emotional bond for him to even consider sleeping with somebody and being vulnerable in that way. In short, doesn't matter to him how someone identifies so long as their personalities work together.
Miruko/Rumi Usagiyama: Bisexual, but with like a 90% attraction to women, and 10% attraction to every other gender.
Fuyumi Todoroki: Demiromantic, but with a slight preference for people who identify as male.
Ragdoll/Tomoko Shiretoko: Pan. I don’t think she cares at all what her romantic partners look like, she just would fall in love with them due to their personality.
Ms. Joke/Emi Fukanando: Omni or Demi. I feel like she would find it hard to find a genuine romantic connection since her quirk is basically a giant defense mechanism. I feel like she was one of those kids growing up that had a lot of friends but never felt truly included or liked. Just was kept around to be a positive reinforcement while bottling her emotions on the inside.
Wash/Susugu Mitarai: Aromantic-Asexual. I can't really explain why I thought about him so much but yea. I don't think he experiences any romantic or sexual attraction to anybody, just likes his friendships and people close to him.
Thirteen/Anan Kurose: Lesbian. A friend of mine headcanoned it and then told me. They also made a cute OC for her and honestly they stole my heart so I adopted the idea.
Tomura Shigaraki/Tenko Shimura: Asexual-Gay. Disregarding canon here for a moment, Shigaraki I feel has no real interest in anything sexual, just rather be able to have a cozy night in with a potential bf.
Dabi: I honestly flip flop with him a lot but I see him as either gay or bisexual. This would also be disregarding the canon version of him for the moment.

Brought Back to Me (FULL)
(I meant to release it yesterday, but with burnout coming at me from all angles, I needed to take an extra day to breathe)
Tomura Shigaraki x Fem! Childhood Friend Reader
(Warm Bodies AU where they're less like zombies, but they're more mindless breeding machines and the only way to bring them back is by giving them intensely positive emotions.)
It's been months since the outbreak started.
One little quirk is all it took for all of Japan to fall into shambles. Curiously enough, only the men were affected by it, turning into insatiable beasts, searching endlessly for someone to breed mindlessly. Not really the undead, but not entirely human either.
Somehow, those who were able to escape from the clutches of such a dangerous quirk were only the men who already had partners, lovers. In some cases, those who were not sexually attracted to anyone-- and/or those who had impossibly strong bonds to their friends-- could also scrape by unaffected.
Unfortunately, the Safe Zone only allowed people in if they contributed to the saving of another.
—————————
He wanders about aimlessly, not remembering a single thing. Where he came from, who he was. His head felt like it was in a cloud, body heavy.
Though he doesn’t think much of it. This is all he’s known, after all. ‘Breed, breed, breed.’ echoes inside his head, eyes scanning the baren wasteland. The sound of quick shambling and panicked breaths hit his ears; ‘a chase’, he thinks, ‘follow.’
He finds his way towards the sound of aggravated groaning and hissing, careless fists slamming against doors. Locked in, it seems. Something tells him to put his hand on it, but nothing happens. He doesn’t know why he expected anything to happen.
The door flexes when a loud thud rams against it, and a tiny yelp behind the flipped dumpsters. The groans grow more aggressive, more hungry. ‘Breed breed breed breed breed breed breed—‘ bounces around more fiercely in his skull; he shuffles quietly over to the dumpster.
He can feel himself starting to salivate, the idea of finally being able to achieve his purpose growing more and more prominent. Peeking over the bags of trash, everything in him halts; big doe eyes stare up at him, afraid. Trembling, eyes leaking... water? ‘Tears,’ his brain supplies. Tears.
He doesn’t like them.
He watches for a moment; eyes scanning her trembling form. Another loud bang and the shriek of metal starting to give snaps him out of it. He takes her arm and yanks, dragging her out of the alley, sprinting passed the door just as the hinges burst.
He doesn’t need to breathe, heart doesn’t pump, yet his chest grows tight from the sound of her struggling to keep up. ‘Go slow. Slower.’ he complies, falling into stride. He feels something starting at him, so he turns back to look at her, grumbling, glaring.
Suddenly, he’s running into a building. She titters excitedly, too frantic to understand before she’s pulling away. Slamming the door shut and locking it. He’s a little confused; surely, she hasn’t forgotten what he is.
For a moment, she does. Her chest heaves with relief, sliding down before plopping in front of the door. He carries himself into the corner of the room, gurgling to himself.
She tenses, eyes darting to him; he squints back. ‘Now she remembers.’ he grunts.
He doesn’t know why the echo in his head went silent. The usual monotony of ‘breed’ long gone, ever since he laid eyes on her; replaced by ‘protect’ and it baffles him. Though, at the same time, it feels right.
She snivels, and his eyes latch back onto her. Still sitting by the cold door, staying away from him. He rolls his eyes and turns away, stuffing himself into the corner.
Some time goes by, how long he doesn’t know. Though he doesn’t need to know such irrelevant things. He gurgles in surprise when he feels something warm fall over him. He turns slowly, eyes meeting her curious ones.
“You’re strange, you know that?” She whispers; her eyes more curious than afraid. He only gurgles, letting the warmth of the blanket encompass him.
‘Warm is nice,’ he decides.
--
She rambles on about ‘no circulation’, or something like that. He doesn’t quite get it, but he doesn’t fight her when she insists he stand out in the sun, absorbing more of this ‘warmth’ thing he’s gotten addicted to.
He follows her around as she needs supplies, gurgling along quietly to her aimless conversations. He knows she’s only talking to fill the silence void (‘maybe she’s gone crazy,’ he thinks, ‘talking to someone who might not even understand.’) but somehow he appreciates it. Gives him something to think about.
Overtime, he finds himself enjoying her company. Mindless babble filling the everyday droning of grumbling footsteps passing by.
One day, she yelps in excitement over a can, startling him and every other mindless dolt in the area. He hisses in irritation, dragging her back to the safe house as quickly as he can. Despite the harrowing situation, she smiles, giggling with childlike glee.
He glares at her once they make it to safety, yet she hardly notices when she’s shoving the can into his face.
“Peaches! It’s canned peaches!” she cheers, prying the lid off with a can opener. The smell is sweet, unlike the usual foods she would find. He’s surprised when he feels his stomach growl instead of twist.
“Did.... did your stomach just growl?” she whispers, baffled. He shrugs, opting to pretend it never happened when it growls again. Her eyes light up.
“It did! It growled!” she laughs, then hands him a peach. He twists his face up, remembering the first time she had him try food. “C’mon, try! Maybe it’ll be different.”
He takes the peach from her hand, eyeing it distastefully before licking it. To his surprise, he didn’t feel sick. He stares at it for a moment before dropping it in his mouth. He feels satisfied rather than sick when he swallows.
“Fascinating...” she whispers, slowly approaching when he doesn’t immediately retch it back up. He eyes the can without realizing it, pouting when she offers him another peach with a coy smile. “See? Good thing I had you try.”
He takes it with a huff, grinning wryly.
--
That night, he dreams for the first time.
“Tenko...!” Echoes inside his ears. He feels his heart beat, and it nearly sends him stumbling from the shock.
“Tenko..!” Closer this time, but even as he spins endlessly to look, he doesn’t see anything.
“Tenko! Wake up, Tenko!” Its right next to him now, and it has him jolting awake
He sits up, but it’s still dark when he opens his eyes. He looks around frantically for her, finally calming when he sees her curled up on the sleeping mat. He scoots closer, putting a hand on her back, just enough to feel it rise and fall with each breath.
He settles.
--
He starts to realize he’s capable of doing more with each new event, and with each new event, he dreams.
The worst nights are when he can hear the voice screaming in agony:
“Tenko!! No!! TENKO!! STOP IT!” “GET AWAY! TENKO!”
The eventual sobbing that grows quieter and quieter, leaving him feeling colder and colder. He hates those nights.
Even when his heart isn’t beating, it still feels painful. His mind races with questions and anxiety (a feeling he wish he didn’t know).
He wonders if his name is— was— Tenko, or maybe someone he used to know? He’s not sure, but he’s afraid to find out.
Afraid.
Another emotion he was starting to know well. He finds himself afraid a lot more often too.
He’s afraid of waking up one night to find her gone. He’s afraid of losing her to some other mindless victim (if he could call them that. Men fallen to the quirk; victims). He’s afraid of watching her find companionship with another human.
He knows it’s selfish, but a part of him wants to stay just like this, with her.
Without knowing who he is.
--
Life is the sweetest when she’s sharing her canned peaches (the only thing his body cares to let him eat). Two unlikely friends, making the best of what they got, but then she starts telling him about her past.
“There used to be someone very important to me.” She said one restless night,
“He and I only ever had each other. Two peas in our own little pod.”
“We didn’t get along at first, but only because we were scared. Just the two of us, living on the street. He had the strangest way of holding things too, but I guess that was just because of his quirk.” Her eyes seemed so glassy, yet so clear. So far away, yet here all the same.
“We uh... used to huddle under the same blankets, just like this.” she slides next to him; she’s warm, yet somehow still so cold, “we even shared peaches too. He never admitted it, but they were his favorite. It’s a shame we couldn’t get them often.”
“Just us against the world...” he doesn’t like the sound her voice makes when it cracks, words turning into a strained whimper. He nudges himself closer to her hoping it’s of some comfort.
“Then some weird man came and took him away, and I never saw him since.” she sniffles and rubs at her eyes, “My Tenko.”
He goes completely stiff. He can tell she’s talking to him, but it’s drowned out by the sound of something rushing through his ears.
‘Tenko! Over here! Hurry!’ his body is so much smaller than he’s used to. He feels the pounding of his heart. It hurts. It hurts.
‘Tenko! No!! TENKO!!’ the agonized screams, and a little girl who looks a lot like her is reaching out through the fog towards him, eyes shining with desperate tears.
There’s the feeling of something grabbing him by the shirt, dragging him away. He knows he’s screaming, his throat burns with the force of his cry, but he can’t hear.
As quickly as it begins, it ends.
“Hey, are you ok?” She’s peering into his face, concern written all over hers. He gurgles, fighting with his own vocal chords.
“I-I-I’mmmm ssso-o-orrrry...” it’s gravelly and slurred, almost incomprehensible, yet she seems to know what he’d been trying to say, seeing as her eyebrows shot up in surprise.
“You... you talked. You actually talked!” She seems so excited for him, but then she frowns, worried.
“‘Sorry’? What for?? There’s no need to be sorry!” she rubs his back. Warm. He feels his chest squeeze.
He wants to try to talk again, even if to just make her smile, but his throat aches far too much, so he just gurgles softly, nudging his head onto her shoulder.
He practices his speech at night when she’s asleep. Quietly, of course, as to not disturb her, but it’s frustrating. Trying to sound out words messily.
“Mmmm-my nnnnnname....” his voice gives away to a wet growl, and he wheezes out a cough, “my nnname issss... Tennnko. Ten...ko. Tenko.”
--
He’s remembered a lot more after the first memory.
Rainy nights under the bridge, hushed giggles over a can of peaches.
Hard winters when all they had were a pile of blankets and each other.
The... THING that stole him away, abandoning her.
Quiet fury burns in him, but it fizzles out soon after when he hears her mumble in her sleep. It’s inaudible, and probably complete nonsense, but he likes to think that maybe she was dreaming of the good ol’ days too.
But only the good days, he hopes. Before ‘THAT’ day.
He whispers her name, stroking her back gently when she starts to fuss. ‘A nightmare,’ he muses, watching as she quickly settles back into a peaceful dream. She has them a lot, but he likes to think that they end as soon as he soothes her.
‘You’ve suffered enough.’
Thoughts come easier now as his memories come. Things that he isn’t proud of, things that makes him wonder if she’d hate him.
He remembers becoming ‘Shigaraki Tomura’, a name he thinks of in disdain.
He much prefers Tenko now.
--
“You know, you’ve been pretty warm lately. I guess sunning yourself every day does help.” She muses out loud, and he grumbles, pleased.
“Mmmaybe.”
“Hey! No stuttering this time! You’re getting better!” She smiles at him. He grunts, leaning against her.
“Oof— hey, easy there champ. You may not eat much, but you’re still heavy compared to me.” He hears her, smirking, but opts to lay more of his weight onto her.
“Hey! Come on!” She laughs, his gurgled wheeze of a laugh only making her laugh that much harder,
He thinks he feels his chest growing lighter in moments like these, wishing desperately that he could have been left unaffected.
He knows there’s no reason to worry about the past in his current state, but he still finds himself wishing.
--
“Hey, that’s weird,” She says to him one morning, ruffling his hair, “your hair is getting darker somehow.”
She shows him in the mirror what she’s talking about, and sure enough, there it is.
A tuft of black hair poking through the sea of pastel blue.
“How funny is that.” she grins. It’s lopsided and curious, but she just muses his hair one more time before going back to her morning routine.
Overtime, he notices more and more sprout in, and she always laughs at the bewildered look he always seems to have.
--
The first time he felt his heart beat was during one of those nights when you couldn’t sleep, so you would tell him about Tenko.
“I thought it could just be the two of us forever... In the same way kids feel when they ask each other to get married when they’re older.” Her words are melancholy, but her smile is peaceful, happy.
“I wanted it to just be the two of us against the world. All we needed was each other, maybe we could have been adopted by a nice couple or something, but still inseparable.”
He doesn’t say anything or make any sounds, so she continues.
“Sometimes I wonder if maybe we could have fallen in love.” He sputters then, heart thudding once, twice, then falling still. His hand smacks over his chest in shock, and for a moment, he wondered if that’s what it felt like to be alive.
“Is that really so ridiculous??” she snorts, not really offended, but not really as happy as he would like.
He shakes his head aggressively, and she laughs. Her smile is so genuine he almost misses out on the sweet kiss on the cheek she gives him.
“Thanks for always listening to me ramble. Actually—“ she sits up, and he watches her from his spot on the floor, “thanks for staying, even though you didn’t have to.”
He puts his hand over hers wordlessly, patting it gently.
“Always.”
--
He wonders if it’s possible to die without being alive.
He hopes it is.
When he wakes up, she’s gone. Nothing more than a note left behind.
‘Need food. Be back soon.’
A simple food run shouldn’t be such a big deal, but it’s climbed to be the most dangerous thing to do over the last 10 months (Has it really been that long?) and losing her so soon after getting her back is the last thing he wants.
He goes barreling out the door just in time to hear her scream.
His heart leaps into his throat. He feels sick, but the adrenaline pumps into his veins, and suddenly he’s running.
Heart racing, sweat dripping, lungs aching. His ears ring with the sound of her scream.
He stops, stomach acid rising into his throat. He feels far too sick. He runs his hands through his hair, he doesn’t even notice the light blue strands that fall away.
He hears her scream again, closer this time. He starts running again despite his shaking legs.
He barely makes it in time to see her get surrounded. The roar he lets out is nothing less than ground shaking, and it’s certainly enough to catch the attention of everyone in the vicinity.
He doesn’t remember what happened next. Colors and sound blend together to make a symphony of tragedy.
Memories and reality all blend until they start and end with her. Her.
“Tenko, my Tenko... you’re okay.” Sound re-emerges from the depths.
Warm. Warm. Warm.
She’s in his arms; so small in comparison to him. He remembers when she was the same size as him.
And, god, she’s so warm.
“Tenko.” His eyes open to meet hers. They’re glassy, but relieved. He whispers her name like it’s a prayer.
“Who would have thought this is how we meet after all these years, huh?” Her voice is soft. He finally realizes her hair is covered in dust. Dust. His dust.
He jumps back in a panic, afraid. He hadn’t been careful with his hands, hands.
“Tenko. It’s okay! It’s okay!” she soothes and grabs his hands freely, pressing his palms to her face.
She doesn’t decay like she should.
“Remember, Tenko? We practiced.”
Yes. Practiced. You helped stabilize his quirk long before he came. Promised to keep it between the two of them.
“Yes... yes... I remember...” he mumbles, and she places her hand over his chest.
“Your heart!” He nods,
“Yeah...”
“Does that mean—“
“Yeah...” he nuzzles his face against her shoulder.
“Warm...” she laughs gently,
“Yeah... you’ve always liked warm things.”
“Mm...” he stands, picking her up in the process, walking back in the direction of the safe house.
“We’ll head to the city zone tomorrow.”
“Okay... Tenko?”
“Mmh?”
“I’m glad you’re back.”
He smiles; he’s glad he’s back too.

Tenmaki -Understanding-
Backflip, backflip, backflip
Tenko Chabashira, Ultimate Aikido Master (Or a variant of it anyway) kept twisting and edging backwards in fluid motion; sounds of air cuts passing by her. If one were to slow down, they could see knives being the thing making the sound through the air. Knives courtesy of Maki Harukawa, former Ultimate Babysitter, current Ultimate Assassin.
The two are locked in what was going to be a simple spar, but it grew to become a heated battle because Tenko is as aggressive with her mouth as her kicks and punches entail.
It all started 1 minute ago.
“Say Maki-chan, being alone and aloof from everyone else…that is no way to live! You should make friends and try to unburden yourself! If you like someone, you should be able to trust them, right? That’s what friends do. They trust each other.”
Tenko had no idea what caused Maki to explode, but she found herself dodging knives. Where is Maki even keeping those knives, Tenko has no idea. She lost count after 29. Doesn’t Maki carry 30? usually? At least, that’s what Kokichi said once. But who knows if that was lie. Almost everything out of that clown’s mouth is a lie in some sort of fashion.
After the 7th flip, Tenko lands on her feet, thankful that she felt the knife rain finally come to an end (that’s going to be a mess to clean up later), but the rain of pain came to her. Maki, despite her thin body shape, is surprisingly agile. Agile enough to close in on Tenko in seconds with another knife (There’s the 30th one), and strike at Tenko.
While Tenko acknowledges Maki is faster, and possibly stronger (Tenko witnessed the girl lift a 100 pound rocket launcher like was nothing), Maki lacks in ways Tenko excels at.
Namely, reflexes. Tenko already knew Maki would have closed the gap between them; its what Maki does, unconsciously or not (Assassin perks, maybe). Even before Maki began the strike, Tenko moved just as fast and with one hand, grips Maki’s wrist holding the knife, and the other one, she strikes an open palm right onto Maki’s chest.
The impact was quick. Maki dropped the knife and coughed her breath out. But she wasn’t out, not by a longshot. She didn’t earn the title of Ultimate Assassin by cowering under simple blows. She retaliates as quickly, leaping; she catches Tenko’s neck with her legs and twists her sideways, pulling both of them down. Tenko landed on her back (Thankful for the mats, otherwise that would have hurt), while Maki lands on her 4 feet like a cat. She grabs the fallen knife with her teeth (What are you Maki, a dog?), and leaps onto Tenko’s lap, about to swipe again at Tenko.
Tenko’s reflexes save her again, able to block the swipe by forming an X with her hands, and pushes them on Maki’s neck; narrowly avoiding the swipe and keeping Maki back. Maki however, persists and pushes forward, twisting her mouth and lips to grab the knife from the hilt and pushes down to try and stab Tenko.
“This is…ridiculous!” Tenko yells, teeth grit. She’s able to move her legs and lifts them back to wrap around Maki’s neck, and then pushes back with both arms and legs. “Off Maki!”
Tenko’s strength and position helps in this case, and she’s able to get Maki off her, one last push gets Maki to flip backwards and skid a little back; though she sprints back at Tenko with no intention of letting the Aikido Master get up.
Tenko does manage to get up. As soon as she got Maki off her, she spun herself in a manner similar to breakdancing, then users her legs as a weight, and lifts herself back up like a trampoline swing. “Aha!” And quickly, back on the defensive she is, as Maki dropped the knife from her mouth, back to her hand and goes for a flurry of strikes and swipes.
Tenko thankfully is skilled enough to parry each one, hands balled to fists, she punches the strikes away from dealing any real damage; though the constant clashes, and being pushed back got to Tenko.
She formulated a plan; simple and to the point. ‘Steady…steady…now!’ finding just the right time to counter, Tenko instead, ducks under one of Maki’s swipes, and sweeps her leg, knocking Maki off-balance. Tenko then leaps and grabs Maki by her sides and slams her down “HAAH!” no mercy for the Assassin.
Once Maki hit the mats (and pretty damn hard. Tenko did not hold back that one time), the force of the impact gets her to drop her knife, and Tenko then sits on Maki’s lap and holds her two arms by her wrists. Neutralization, success.
“…Phew.” Tenko let out a sigh of relief. Now that the 'spar’ finally stopped, she realized just how fast her heart is racing, and the sweat she fells all over. It was a quick fight, but still, it put her on edge. Maki was using real knives. It could have hurt her, or worse. “I would normally say that was fun spar Maki-chan, but you were using real weapons! I could have been hurt!” Tenko said with a frown. “I apologize for any rudeness in my earlier comment, but I meant what I said.”
“…You actually managed to beat me.” Maki said, surprised. She didn’t make any motion to try and get out; she admits defeat. “…I guess that makes it 2-1 for now, still leading.”
Tenko would have been flattered, under normal circumstances, but not this time. “Please don’t flatter me Maki-chan; especially when you don’t mean it.”
“…” Maki grumpily stayed quiet, not even looking at Tenko anymore. “I don’t rely on others Chabashira. I’m an Assassin, get it? I kill people; for a living.” she sighs, and decides to look at Tenko “Whether my target is innocent or guilty, it doesn’t matter. I silence them forever, get paid, move on to the next one. I don’t feel anything, I shouldn’t, feel anything; especially friendship or…anything deeper than that.”
“…You don’t believe that.” Tenko said. “I can tell Maki-chan. Not just by words, but your body. You put on a brave face, threatening anyone, always trying to be intimidating…but I see it. At the table, at the trials, when you see other people talking like friends, like Shuichi and Kaito. You have that look of sadness in your face, showing your true emotions.”
Whether Tenko’s words hit Maki or not, Maki didn’t show it. “Its not your problem to solve.”
“Maybe not.” Tenko admits as much. “But this isn’t an assassin’s mission, is it Maki-chan? We’re trapped, with other people. People that regardless of how you and I feel about, have to work together to get out of this mess.”
“Akamatsu tried. You saw how that worked out.”
Kaede…It may have been more than a week since then, but to Tenko, its like it happened hours ago. Its still vivid in her head. The imagery, Kaede’s look of despair as death slowly took hold of her, and nobody was able to do anything about it. Spectators to an execution no one wanted, for a crime Kaede didn’t even want to commit.
To Tenko, a defender of justice, protector of the weak; it was an insult to her pride and honor.
“I don’t need to be reminded of that.” Tenko said. “But I have never doubted Kaede-chan’s words. To get out of here alive, all of us.” her eyes drooped a little. “…I admit that while I don’t show it, I am afraid of what may come next.”
“I’m not.” Maki replies bluntly.
“Liar.” Tenko frowns again. “In this fight we just had, you told me otherwise.”
Maki didn’t say anything to that, staying strangely quiet. Tenko took this is a queue to continue. “Every swipe, stab, every movement you did…it wasn’t normal for you. Your movements were quick, but sloppy. With determination, but no end goal. Every attack has shown to me that you’re afraid, desperate to exit this confounding prison that Monokuma created against our wills.”
“If you were really aiming to kill me Maki, you would have done so much easier than what you showed me today. I know full well your capabilities to end a life. You did not end mine…so I know, that you are afraid too, for what comes after death here, is facing your own death; and that terrifies you.”
“As strong as you are…facing death, that should never be done alone.”
Maki bit her lip, annoyed and…admittedly showing her fear now, if only a little. “Strength of my own is all I know Chabashira. I never had to rely on anyone else but myself.”
Tenko nods. Her grip on Maki loosens “I know this…I know you are strong Maki-chan.” She lets go of Maki’s wrists, and looses her own hands, relaxed…comfortable. “But someone that has always fought alone, will never know the strength of fighting alongside others. The kind of strength Kaede wanted from us.” Tenko gets off Maki’s lap and stands up, still staring at her, but now a gaze; A strange mix of sorrow and hopeful “The kind of strength I want to hope, can get us to escape with no more victims or murderers. Back to where we belong.”
“…” Maki didn’t move from her spot, though relieved Tenko got off her at least. “…You never spoke with Akamatsu. Why are you holding her in such a strong regard?”
“…” Tenko takes a step forward and slowly sits next to Maki, looking opposite of where Maki is. “It is true…we only spoke once, before the murder of Rantaro. I suppose its not really about Kaede herself, as a wonderful person I’m sure she was; rather…” Tenko bit her lip. “What she represents to me.”
Maki raised an eyebrow, confused. Clearing her throat, Tenko continues.
“As someone that upholds protecting the weak, the innocent, seeing Kaede die the way she did, in such a cruel, unfitting matter…God you have no idea how badly I wanted to crush Monokuma and those damn cubs of his. But it would have been for nothing. I know that, I felt that…but I still wanted to. Because Kaede deserved better; killer or not of that degenerate Rantaro; she wouldn’t have done that if Monokuma had forced us to this evil game of his.”
As she spoke, Tenko’s sadness turned to grief, to anger, to hopelessness. Tears nearly threatened to leave her eyes, and they did. “This killing game goes against everything I believe in; and I hate it. I hate the very idea of it. Comrades and friends being forced to kill each other for some sick proof of an ideal is no way to live; no matter if the whole world wants to think that way, it being acceptable doesn’t mean that it should be ok for anyone to not question it. We question drugs, we question the morality of mental health, but we don’t question abuse? murders?” Tenko shook her head. “We are Ultimates. We bring hope to those that can’t do so, in odd ways, yes. But we still do our parts every day, with hard work and determination.” Tenko shook vividly as she said this. “Monokuma took that hope, and twisted it to something of pure evil; all for laughs.” she stood up again, wiping her eyes from the tears and the sniffs. “I can never forgive a person like that, or anyone that supports such actions and ideals. So for that…I have to fight to keep us together, to work together and live another day. Kaede would have wanted that. I, want that.” Tenko greatly emphasizes in her grief.
“…” Maki didn’t know what to say. What could she say? Tenko’s speech caught her off-guard. In truth, Maki never really thought of it that way. A simple life, compared to Tenko’s complex one. To kill, and to protect.
’…Would killing the mastermind truly end this?’ Maki thought to herself. 'Who’s to say someone else will take their place? Someone with equally twisted ideals?’ history shows as much. You kill one dictator, 2 more pop up someone else. Its like killing ants in a way.
’…Have my killings served any purpose, I wonder…’ Maki mused. 'Were they for the greater good? Or for the selfish ambitions of another? …did my actions caused others to die?’
…Well, whatever the answers to that, it doesn’t matter now. Too late to look back on done deeds. But maybe this once…
“…Hey.” Maki got up, and grabbed her knife. She pockets it. “…Tomorrow, same time?” Maki pauses for a moment. “…No knives.”
Surprised, Tenko looks at Maki wide eyed and mouth agape “Maki-chan…?”
Maki stands up and dusts herself off. “I’ll see you then…Tenko.” With that, Maki leaves the Gym, leaving a flabbergasted Tenko behind.
Though once she left, Maki looks at her knife, her own reflection in the silver blade. ’…Fight for others…its not my thing. I doubt it could ever be my thing.’ Maki pockets it again. 'But…maybe just this once…I can try, if only for Tenko, and Kaede. I am an assassin, that will never change. …Yet, would the kids at the orphanage…would they admire me if they knew what I did? What I’ve done?’
Himiko, Angie! I made friends with Maki-chan! I got her to acknowledge me as a friend!
That’s great Tenko! Atua has blessed you indeed!
“Oi, don’t let it go to your head!” Maki yelled angrily, yet couldn’t help herself to smile…if only once.
Tumblr media
“Wow, thank you so much, Goryuck! I didn’t expect something like this, but this is such a sweet surprise! I’m going to cherish this forever!”

Do you have any real happy moments from any of your main AUs?
Mahiru sends the first photo albums out after the first year and there are scenes of everyone flipping through them and… it's happiness. It's Sakura and Hina's wedding. It’s Gundham and Ibuki being Gundham and Ibuki. It’s a picture of Nekomaru and Akane messing with Miu’s hair. (Miu is in her undercut phase. It's not working out too well but that's okay.). It’s Kokichi sprawled out on the couch in a Fortnite shirt and gym shorts, laying on as many people as possible.
It’s Taka and Mondo dancing in their kitchen. It’s Junko making Mukuro give her a piggyback ride. It’s Hiroko’s girls in the kitchen together. It’s Himiko and Tenko and Toko laughing together in Toko’s living room, and Himiko’s giggling with Tenko next to her, Toko’s snort-laughing but she doesn’t care. It’s Ryoma crying over a kitten. It’s Nagito, Chiaki and Hajime with their arms around each other, just beaming. There's a whole page of Mikan and Kazuya in their house, and then there's one slightly blurry one of Mahiru in a garden that's a distinctly different style than the others. Mikan took that one.
There’s a picture of Leon and Gonta in school, and Leon has his feet up on the desk and he’s shooting spitballs at Gonta. Gonta’s just sitting politely with his books stacked neatly. There's like seven of them stuck to his wing housing and he's just neatly highlighting things. There’s a picture of Hiyoko and Yuta on a “date” that’s just a date. There are pictures of Hiyoko and her dad.
There's a picture of Teruteru fishing for some reason. Through the lens, he looks like himself. Why is he fishing though.
There’s a picture of Tsumugi sewing stuff for her Etsy shop. A picture of Mukuro and Kyoko on a date at a fancy restaurant, and Mukuro’s outfit is godawful. A picture of Kyoko, Makoto and Byakuya leaning on each other.
A picture of Kaito falling off a roof and into a pool (he was going to do a cool trick, but he slipped. He’s okay, Maki healed him. "Stop MOVING you broke your foot." "I’m FIIINE!"). There’s a picture of Hifumi and Kirumi sitting at the table and Celestia doing the dishes, and they’re all smiling. There’s a picture of Tenko tackling Kaito for saying something rude.
A picture of Kiibo and Miu being adorable (Kiibo is wearing Miu’s sweatshirt that says “Hot Stuff” on it.).
After the first year of photo albums, they all start sending their own pictures in too, so it’s not just Mahiru’s. There’s Ibuki’s blurry phone selfies, a picture she and Peko took when they were waking up, Gundham doing a silly pose, Kazuichi falling over or something. You’ve got Himiko’s pictures that she takes when she’s lying on the couch so they’re from a lower angle. Hiyoko just sends in a bunch of selfies. Yuta is in some of them they're on a "date". They're at the top of the ferris wheel and he's kissing her cheek and she’s rolling her eyes and it's like. A "date". Makoto sends in a funny one of Byakuya where he's in the middle of talking. He’s saying "Tell them Naegi" about like not wanting pickles. There’s a picture of Mondo and Kirumi, and they look so happy and relaxed.
Hiyoko and Yuta get married at like 22 for the gift registry. Everyone's like not sure whether to attend or not, except, like, Chihiro. Chihiro is HYPED. Also Hiroyuki and Taichi are definitely going to be there. And Hina and Sakura. And Gundham and Ibuki. And Komaru. Actually, there are quite a few people who are excited (or mostly excited) to be there. Hiroyuki is like “So maybe it's just for the gifts but she's happy.”. Ibuki thinks it’s hilarious. “PEKO BABE WHY DIDN'T WE THINK ABOUT DOING THIS BEFORE”. Hiroko’s girls all go and sit together. There's an actual semi emotional speech from Hiyoko and they Actually Kiss and then everyone's like. Wow huh they were dating. And then Yuta yells sike and everyone's like you're literally married now you can stop. "SIKE" "..You're holding your wife's hand.". Ibuki starts laughing so hard she loves her little sister so much. Ibuki, Gundham, Chihiro and Hiroyuki help Hiyoko get ready beforehand. Sakura, Hina and Komaru help Yuta get ready. They’re both legitimately nervous about it. It's about the hiyoko commitment issues partially. If she's not actually involved with Yuta, he can't get hurt.
At the end of the reception, Ibuki says something to Hiyoko along the lines of "Yuta really cares about you, you know. He wouldn't have done this for so long if he didn't.". "What do you mean, it's a joke! It's so funny!" "People don't offer to marry you as a joke, Hiyoko." and they both look over at Yuta who's talking with Komaru and laughing and he sees them looking and looks over and just beams. He loves his wife! He has the whole time! And if Hiyoko wanted it to be a joke, Yuta was fine with that, because he could still be with her in some way. And Hiyoko doesn't WANT to feel love but her heart swells when Yuta smiles at her just. So full of joy.
At night, when they're alone, Hiyoko just says something like "If I wanted to do this for real, what would you say?". She's not even looking at him. "I would say that if that's what you wanted to do, I would be down.". And then he pulls her into the biggest hug. Sometimes you realize you love your husband after you marry him and that's okay. The next day Hiyoko's frantically texting her groupchat with Gundham and Ibuki like "OH MY GOD I LIKED HIM FOR REAL IT WASN'T A PRANK". Gundham is like yes I'm aware. Gundham Knew. He’s got the brother senses.
Nekomaru would be so affectionate with Angie to make up for the fact that she didn’t feel like she was able to touch people for so long. He and Tenko both go out of their way to do stuff like that. Tenko's always holding her hand. Nekomaru's messing with her hair, patting her on the back (and of course he gives the best hugs). Angie was so scared to touch Nekomaru the first time, what if it was a fluke what if this time she DOES turn him gold but just. He doesn't and she's so happy she could cry.

Rantaro, Shuichi and Kokichi with a s/o that claims to be an edgelord and not scared of any thing yet they’re
Flipping scared of monsters, can’t watch horror movies without getting scared and screaming- also if there was a spider they’d cry and cling onto them XD
When I tell you this kinda sounds like me- I've never been able to watch a horror movie straightforward. If I "watch" a horror movie, it's because I'm watching it some other way like a reaction or a kill count. And I hate spiders. They're beneficial, yeah, but there is no reason for anything to have that many legs and that many eyes.. Anyways, Rantaro's lingers a little longer than the other two and the whole edgy thing probably isn't too well implemented, but I hope that's ok. Thanks for requesting anon! Stay safe, kith 💕
Tumblr media
~Mod Tenko~
Rantaro, Shuichi, and Kokichi with an "edgelord" s/o
Rantaro Amami
You always claimed that you were this massive edgelord, that your heart was cold and dead
Well except for your boyfriend Rantaro
Rantaro usually goes along with your edginess and just let's you do your thing
You always bragged about how emotionless you were
But if Rantaro's with you when you say that, he'll kiss you on the forehead or your cheek just to watch your face flare up
You're like a tsundere, but you have edgy reasons for denying affection
When you two do dates you tend to stay inside because you say you prefer it
Rantaro's fine with it, but he does at least suggest a walk in the local park every now and then
One night he suggests a horror movie since Halloween was approaching
He can visibly see your expression change
You quickly go back to normal though and agree, but not without a waver in your voice
"Y-yeah, I suppose. This crap won't even phase me."
You two get situated on the couch with plenty of blankets and snacks and Rantaro puts on a sub-par scary movie after taking note of your expression
As soon as the movie starts building up suspense for a jump scare, you begin slightly trembling and clinging onto your avocado boyfriend
He just holds you and waits to see what happens, although hes fully prepared to shut the movie off if you say it's too much for you
Suddenly a monster pops up and,
"AHHHH!!"
Your scream was so genuine that it scared him and he paused the movie
"Babe, you alright? Didn't expect to ever hear you scream like that.."
You're trembling with fear and trying to play it off
He turns the movie off and turns a romcom on, embracing you in his arms as he comforts you
After that you two never watched horror movies again
But Rantaro still learned that you weren't as edgy as you claimed
Though he obviously already knew that
One day you two are coming home from a movie
Yknow, classic date
Well you come home to a small spider on your front door
Not only are you arachnophobic, you almost touched said doorknob spider
You
Freak
You're screaming and crying and cling to your boyfriend who is too stunned to do anything for a second
"S/o, it's a tiny spider, calm down."
Your response is more screaming and crying
You literally start hiccupping and doing those little wavered breath things
You're having a whole meltdown
Rantaro has to pick you up and take you inside after carefully removing the doorknob spider
Your 'edgy makeup' is destroyed and you're still crying and mumbling about the doorknob spider, trailing off sometimes to talk about how much you hate spiders in general
You're sitting on the couch going through the five stages of grief as Rantaro covers you in blankets and orders Taco Bell
He comforts you and you two watch Up and eat Taco Bell for the night, falling asleep on the couch
Shuichi Saihara
Shuichi never really said much about your edgeiness since he acknowledges he's like a toned down egdelord
But he definitely realized you weren't that much of an edge lord either
You and Shuichi like to shuffle up your movies and choose one
One day you pick out a popular horror movie
You freeze at the sight but manage to slowly play the movie
Shuichi is very attentive and noticed you were uncomfortable ever since you pulled the movie
He's already seen the movie with Rantaro and Kokichi, so he knows a jump scare is coming up
And he can feel you trembling from the build-up
He pauses it right before the jump scare and you let out a shakey breath
Still attempting to be edgy, you turn to him and let out a large sigh
"Why'd you turn it off? It was just getting to a great death!"
Shuichi looks at you and silently applauds you for still managing to keep the act up
Although he can still tell you're glad
He makes a mental note of your fear and pulls all the horror movies from your little movie raffle
And even though you're pretty good at keeping up your resolve, he's beginning to not take you as seriously
Shuichi's watching a documentary on a certain spider that could possibly be related to a case he's looking into
You walk in looking for a snack
Unfortunately your eyes focus on the TV screen
Shrieking
Shuichi was honestly half asleep, but now he's fully awake
Shuichi rushes up to you- now on the floor- in a panic
"WEH- S/O ARE YOU OK, WHAT HAPPENED?!"
You just sit there in the fetal position and mumble about your fear of spiders
Shuichi's confused at first but he sits down next to you and just runs his hand along your back and gives you words of encouragement like
Dont worry it's only on a screen, It can't hurt you, etc.
He makes sure to keep those fears away from you as much as he possibly can
Kokichi Oma
Kokichi finds your edginess hilarious
He actively makes light fun of you for it
Although if he actually hurts you he'll stop and be upset with himself
Kokichi isn't that big a fan of horror movies either, but he's good at hiding his emotions so he'll watch them with people
But he doesn't know that you're easily spooked
And he wants to know
For.. future reference
Pranks
He plans a surprise date with you and
Surprise!
Horror movie
You stiffen up at the sight, but quickly scoff at the choice and sit down with your little gremlin boyfriend
You hear him giggle to himself as the movie starts
You figure that he's already got you figured out, but you're stubborn so you still act all tough and emo
"Kichi this movie isn't even scaRY-"
As you claim your fearlessness, a jump scare pops up and you scream,
Very loud
So loud that even Kokichi gets startled
He pauses the movie and starts cackling
He's literally turning red
You have to make sure he's breathing a few times
He will never forget this and find this information very intriguing
After the event that you now call 'The Horror Movie Incident', Kokichi wonders if you have anymore common fears
He thinks up some common fears and wonders about spiders
Because spiders are fun to work with
So he gets a pretty big spider and runs up to you while you're working at your desk to show you
"Look s/o! Look, look! Isn't it cool?!"
"What is it Ki-"
Another very large scream
You fall out of your chair and just lay there and cry while telling him to get it away
Kokichi freaks out and puts the spider on your desk while he checks on you
"S/o, are you okay? Crap I'm sorry I-"
He's genuinely upset with himself and he helps you up
He makes sure to keep you from looking at your desk
He takes you to your room and sits you on the bed and apologizes to you
You take a second to catch your breath and wipe your tears
You pout and express that you're upset, but you can't stay too mad at your little gremlin
Although Kokichi is still very upset with himself, he accepts the offer you give for cuddles since it's rare cause you're usually 'too edgy for cuddles'
Yeah right

Inspired by @golden-redhead  Again series.
Kaito doubted anyone would call him a patient person; it wasn’t like he couldn’t be patient or didn’t know how to wait he’d been patient lots of times! When he was a kid there was a stray dog that wouldn’t even let him near it but after a few weeks of bringing it food and showing he wasn’t a threat it had eventually let him pet it and play with it until it became comfortable enough around Kaito that he managed to bring it home and make it the family pet, after begging his grandparents to let him keep it…
Though he guesses that technically might have never actually happened.
But he’d been patient with his sidekicks! He thought latching on to the memory that he *knew* was real, that he knew was his or as real as any memory made in virtual reality could be. He’d been patient coaxing Shuichi out of his shell waiting for the shy detective to open up and have confidence in himself, he’d been patient with Harumaki waiting for her to let him in, for her to trust others.
Kaito Momota knew how to be patient but that didn’t mean he liked waiting, what was the point of waiting for things to happen when you could go out and make your dreams a reality now? Why wait when you could do something?
But sometimes he thought with a sigh there was nothing you could do; sometimes waiting was your only option.
Absentmindedly he gently held the hand of Kokichi’s unconscious form almost scared that the action would shatter the smaller boy. It was hard to think that Kokichi was really here finally out of that damn pod even if he was technically still unconscious.
He wouldn’t have to wait much longer at least
He had died among the stars, finally reaching the goal he’d dreamed about for so long his heart filling with exhilaration and contentment as his lungs filled with blood and thoughts of pride and worry and hope for his sidekicks and guilt and thoughts he couldn’t shake for his rival? Partner? Whatever the hell Ouma was to him in the end mixed together in his head swirling like galaxies as he coughed and coughed until he finally closed his eyes the view of the universe being the last thing he saw…
And then he had opened his eyes to neon blue and green.
It would be a complete and utter lie to say he had anything resembling to coherent thought at the time, and honestly it was a bit of a blur from his disorientation of dying and coming out of the simulation. He remembers the confusion and even some anger though as he thrashed about as doctors and nurses swarmed him almost as soon as he opened his eyes shouting out lists of vitals and medical jargon and trying to see how aware he was of his surroundings at that moment as they tried to calm him down.
He’s pretty sure he punched one of them before he was injected with a sedative and fell back into unconsciousness. He hoped he had punched one of them.
When he had woken up again they’d explained everything to him, that everything was fake, that it was all a lie and virtual reality and a damn show that he’d fucking signed up for. He didn’t really like thinking about the feelings he felt when he learned that, before he tried to force his mind to think about, to focus on literally anything else.
“So Ouma’s alive?” Was the question that was the first thing that came out of his mouth after they had finished explaining everything to him no thought going into it as he asked. He wasn’t really sure why Ouma of all people was the first person her asked about… But it made sense to check; if Ouma was alive that meant that Kaito hadn’t actually killed someone right?
The doctor he had been talking to looked slightly surprised for a second before schooling his expression “none of the participants have actually died as I’ve explained Ouma Kokichi included” the doctor told him and Kaito felt something close to relief at the information.
Ouma was alive; part of him couldn’t believe it and part of him desperately wanted to. “Can I see him?” Kaito found himself asking part of his mind not truly being able to comprehend the idea of Ouma being alive; not when he could still smell the familiar, metallic scent of blood that was everywhere in the hanger unable to escape it even in the exisal leaving him unable to tell if it was Ouma’s or his own, not when the sounds of his screams nearly drowned out by the hum of the hydraulic press still rang out almost constantly in the back of his mind. Maybe if he actually saw Ouma and talked to him about all this the screams in his head would finally stop.
He wanted to talk to the liar anyway regardless of his own guilt just to hear the other boys opinion on all this; the smaller boy always seemed to figure out more than the rest of them, always seemed to know more than he would let on after all and after what happened in the hanger part of Kaito thought that he was probably more qualified in dragging out whatever the liar was thinking about than anyone else.
Something unreadable flashed through the doctors eyes before he shook his head at Kaito’s request, the astronaut feeling disappointment settle in his gut almost immediately not really listening as the doctor blathered on an answer “I’m afraid I wouldn’t recommend seeing anyone at the moment since you’ve just woken up and we want to check that everything is completely alright” the doctor continues talking but Kaito’s honestly not really listening anymore at this point, despite apparently sleeping for so long in a virtual reality pod he’s still tiered and he barely has the energy to thank the doctor and watch him leave before he drifts off into unconsciousness once more.
He wakes up nearly an hour after that for the doctors to run more tests him noticing that their thoughts seem to be slightly distracted he finds out why a few hours later when someone knocks on his door and a familiar face he thought he would never see again pops in.
“Hey, the doctors said you were cleared for visitors,” Kaede Akamatsu said walking quickly followed by Chabashira. Despite everything that he had been told seeing them both here and alive was jarring he almost couldn’t believe they were real.
As if sensing his thoughts Akamatsu gives him a knowing smile “I’m real this isn’t a dream or a hallucination I can offer to pinch you if you want?” Kaede offers jokingly and Kaito finds himself spluttering at being so easily read her smile becoming a bit more obvious.
“Kaede-san you don’t have to reassure him that we’re real and besides if he does need convincing Tenko can always flip him,” Chabashira offers causing Kaito to let out and indignant protest as Akamatsu hides a laugh behind her hands, part of Kaito makes note of Chabashira’s use of first Akamatsu’s first name but that’s not really important at the moment.
“…How…” Kaito tries to ask not really sure what he’s asking but still feeling the need to start a conversation and say something.
Akamatsu’s smile almost turns bitter as she responds “I was one of the first to die remember? I’m pretty used to greeting people who saw me die by now,” Akamatsu half heartedly jokes though resentment is clear in her voice, Chabashira looks at the other girl worriedly before sending a glare Kaito’s way as Kaito puts his hands up in a placating gesture and resolves to fix the situation.
“Hey Akamatsu mind telling me what’s been going on? I’ve been stuck in this room and these doctors are kind of useless,” he says rubbing the back of his head nonchalantly.
That seems to do the trick as the dark look drains from Akamatsu’s eyes and she nods as she pulls up a chair to sit at his bedside. “Sure! So what do you know?” Akamatsu asks after a moment of silence and Kaito just shrugs in response.
“I know it was all fake and virtual reality if that’s what you mean but I don’t really know how the others are doing, you two are the first ones who aren’t doctors running test results that I’ve seen since I woke up. Kaito explained as Akamatsu nodded in understanding.
“Well it’s kind of over now, they had the last trial and everything apparently they’ll pull out the ‘survivors’ soon.” Akamatsu told him and Kaito decided to ignore the almost condescending was she had said survivors to focus on another part of her sentence.
“The games over?” Kaito said his voice a mix of disbelief and hope while Kaede gave him an almost sad smile.
“Yeah, Shirogane was the mastermind… turns out I didn’t actually kill Amami-kun as well…” Kaede trailed off her eyes clouded over with a number of different emotions and seeing the other girls distress Chabashira immediately jumped in to explain to Momota everything that had happened and how Shuichi and the others had ended these damn killing games for good.
Kaito wanted to voice his pride in everything his sidekick had done but seeing the emotions barely visible on Akamatsu’s face he decided that the best thing to do right now was distract her, he didn’t know how long she knew that she had been unfairly executed for a crime that she didn’t commit but with everything now finally over there was probably a lot to think about so Kaito decided to distract the her with various small chat and conversation the three of them all talking until Hoshi came to collect the two girls saying they should probably let him rest.
The first people Kaito went to see as soon as he was allowed to leave his room were the survivors, nearly everyone had gathered in the little communal area the hospital had provided for them to greet the survivors who had just been informed of everything that had happened, they were all talking to Kiibo who lived on a computer now which was kind of weird but it was great to see him Amami seemed especially excited to see Kiibo apparently his AI was created by one of his old classmates in the last season, which was another weird thing to think about.
When the survivors came in, it was a full-scale emotional reunion Chabashira running to Yumeno before the smaller girl even had a chance to walk through the door the two of them hugging and crying before anyone really knew what to do, Angie seemed to be the one to move back into action first cheerfully moving forward to greet the magician only for Yumeno to hug her as well as soon as the artist was in range.
Smiling slightly at the scene Kaito raised his hand to grab the other two survivors attention calling out to his sidekicks “Hey! Shuichi! Harumaki!” he called and even over the clamor of the other students he could hear the sharp intake of their breath and he couldn’t fight the smile on his face as their eyes lit up at the sight of him and rushed towards him.
Maki surprised him slightly by hugging him but he wouldn’t complain as he ruffled Shuichi’s hair before returning her hug, he congratulated and complimented them both on everything they’d done, he really was proud of them. Everyone spoke and talked and caught up and it really made a knot settle inside Kaito’s stomach, it was really over and they were all by some miracle together again.
Well not all, Shirogane wasn’t there thank fuck, after all she had helped to put them through if the astronaut never saw her again it would be too soon.
There was only two things that kept the moment from being perfect because despite nearly everyone being back together again Akamatsu and Ouma were no where to be found.
After making up some reason to excuse himself and a brief search he found Akamatsu hiding out by the back staircases, sitting on one of the steps looking deep in thought.
“Hey you’re missing the big reunion in the game room,” he told her catching her attention and announcing his presence as he sat down next to her, he watched as she seemed to try and suppress a grimace before giving him a friendly smile that felt slightly forced.
“I… I don’t know how good I’ll be there I mean I didn’t even really last that long you know?” Akamatsu told him fidgeting with her hands trying to ignore the slight frown that was forming on his face.
“Shuichi would want to see you,” he told her earnestly but that might have been the wrong thing to say as she flinched at the mention of the detective.
“That’s… kind of what I’m worried about…” Akamatsu began to explain hesitantly. “Saihara-kun was nice… but we only really spent a few days together we don’t really know each other you know?”
Akamatsu let out a hollow laugh as she finished explaining while Kaito rubbed the back of his head almost awkwardly.
“Yeah but you two have a chance to get to know each other now,” he offered trying to sound encouraging while Akamatsu simply shrugged.
“Maybe,”
The pianist began to look slightly lost in thought again so Kaito decided to sigh loudly to snap her out of it “geez, you’re really moping over here over something like that?” he complained rubbing the back of his head “you and Ouma are hopeless hiding from everyone”
With everything that had happened in the game Kaito understood why the Supreme Leader might have a hard time seeing everyone again, the little liar had put them all through a lot of shit but now everything was over Kaito at least kind of understood why Ouma did what he did which meant he wasn’t going to let him just hide away he had a lot to make up for to everyone after all!
At the mention of the supreme leader Akamatsu’s head sprung in his direction so quickly he was worried that she might hurt her neck “wait has no one told you about Ouma?” Akamatsu asked her voice full of disbelief and worry.
“Told me what?” he asked giving her a confused look as he tried to ignore the dread welling up inside him.
Ouma would have probably made fun of him or called him naïve for thinking everything was over just because the game had ended. Logically he knew that things wouldn’t end so neatly, that this wouldn’t be some typical happy ending where everyone rode off into the sunset like in an ending of a movie; they all still had a long way to go. They still had to go through physical therapy after being asleep in those pods for so long, there was also trying to convince their bodies that they hadn’t actually died their minds too in a way they’re all dealing with issues and problems the game left them with but still in spite of all that those were all things they just needed to overcome.
They were out of the game! They were safe! Well, almost all of them anyway.
Kaito wondered if this was a trend for Ouma his own brilliant mind and plans making his life harder than anyone’s should be, from what Kaito had seen it probably was.
Despite kids literally signing away their identities and literally having their personalities and memories erased replaced with identities made to be tortured and traumatized in a killing game Team Danganronpa had apparently been incredibly proud about how ‘safe’ their killing games were.
After fifty-three seasons they’d all but perfected their virtual reality bullshit and were constantly monitoring the health of the shows participants and were able to pull someone out of the simulation almost immediately after they died. Executions were despite how awful they could be were ironically the safest route the staff knowing exactly when and how that student would ‘die’ and were prepared to pull them out and with victims with all their surveillance they could see the death and murders coming and could plan around that. The most risky was instantaneous death but the brain itself may not really know how it died and so it was easy to bring a student back from that.
He should have expected Ouma Kokichi to be an exception to every fucking norm.
Thanks to Ouma setting off one of Iruma’s electro bombs no one knew exactly what happened in that hanger only Kaito and Ouma themselves and Kaito wasn’t going to tell anybody what happened, it seemed too personal, too vulnerable though he wasn’t sure who that vulnerability applied to himself or Ouma but it didn’t matter he just… didn’t really want to talk about it with anyone. Maybe he could talk about what had happened with Ouma one day but right now Ouma couldn’t talk about it at all so it was pointless.
Since no one could see who died in that hanger they had no idea who to pull out, it made sense since Monokuma hadn’t known who was in the exisal if they had been able to pull Ouma out when he had died then they would have known who was the victim and who was the culprit and they could have just informed the ‘motherkuma’ AI and their plan would have been pointless.
It was kind of amazing how effective Ouma’s plan really had been when you thought about it.
But since Ouma hadn’t been pulled out his brilliant mind hadn’t been protected from the sensation of dying and so his brain was convinced that he was dead, not just any death too dying of poison and then crushed by a hydraulic press he remembered one of the staff saying how it had been a worse death than anything the people who designed the executions could have thought of.
Kaito didn’t even bother trying not to flinch when he had overheard that conversation.
It had been three weeks since the game had ended and Ouma Kokichi was the only one who was still in his pod, he still hadn’t woken up. Kaito wondered not for the first time if he was going to turn out to be the only one in his game to have actually killed someone.
Between group therapy and everything else they all had to deal with Kaito always made time every day to visit the pod room and sit by Kokichi’s pod hoping that today would be the day that the smaller boy finally woke up.
How long he stayed by Ouma’s side would vary depending on the day sometimes he only stayed for a few minutes not being able to find himself able to look at how small and fragile the supreme leader looked underneath the glass of the pod so different from the sheer presence that he had had during the game while sometimes Kaito would find that he had lost hours just sitting by Kokichi’s side.
He wasn’t exactly sure why, because Ouma and him had worked together as partners at the end or something else? He really wasn’t sure how to explain it but he just felt like he *had* to be there when Kokichi woke up, he had to see with his own two eyes that the supreme leader really was alive.
Sometimes he just sat there in silence almost like he was standing watch over the other boy in his sleep but lately he had been talking to Kokichi, telling him about everything that was going on and how everyone was doing and how his day had been. He’d read that talking to coma patients could help them wake up and at this point Kaito was willing to try anything. He had no idea whether or not Kokichi could actually hear him but it felt oddly nice to just tell him about his day.
Occasionally Amami or Akamatsu would join him in his waiting and both Iruma and Gonta had cornered Kaito to ask how Kokichi was doing; the astronauts daily ritual wasn’t exactly a secret but for the most part Kaito’s waiting was almost kind of a private thing between Kokichi and himself, the doctors and scientists that would work in the pod room simply fading into the background.
That was why he was so surprised when nearly exactly two months since the game had ended he had walked into the pod room to see Harumaki sitting by Kokichi’s side glaring at the liar with an uncertain look on her face.
He wasn’t sure what to make of it honestly everyone knew that Harumaki and Ouma hadn’t exactly gotten along so seeing her visit him was strange but it wasn’t as though Kaito was going to stop her from visiting it wasn’t like she was going to do anything bad after all.
“Hey Harumaki! Here to keep my company today?” Kaito asked taking a seat next to her. Harumaki almost jerked slightly as if she hadn’t noticed his presence until he announced himself to her which went to show how deep in thought she must have been, she almost seemed embarrassed having been caught as she played with her hair a muttered out a half hearted ‘do you want to die?” causing him to chuckle slightly to himself letting his gaze wonder over a bit to Ouma’s pod, they were all done dying, Kokichi just needed to wake up.
He wasn’t sure what to say since when he brought his gaze back to Harumaki she looked conflicted her eyes staring at some far off spot deep in thought so he let her work out whatever she wanted to say, he knew she’d tell him eventually. They sat in silence like that for a bit before she finally spoke up.
“Do you really think he’ll wake up?”
At the question Kaito found himself sitting up straighter almost defensively, “oh course he will!” if Harumaki wasn’t taken aback by the slightly the almost harsh tone of voice towards her then she was by the flicker of regret that flashed across his face.
Ouma would wake up, he had to. But with every passing day it sometimes felt harder and harder to believe that the liar would wake up. But Kaito had to believe he would someday, had to hope that Ouma would eventually get out of that pod.
He had to believe that Kaito didn’t really murder him.
With his own feelings that drove him to visit Ouma being so complex that Kaito doubted he could ever put them into words, he’d never really asked Maki on why she would sometimes sit with him in his watch over the smaller boy.
But after nearly a week or so of joining him while visiting Kokichi she did give him a brief idea.
That day had been like any other with him being slightly surprised to see Maki already watching Kokichi the same uncertain look on her face that she always did as Kaito sat down next to her simply acknowledging that today was one of the days Maki joined him.
They sat in silence for a while until Maki decided to break their routine by finally saying what had been on her mind. It was just a question, both somehow too simple and too complex for Kaito to let out more than a slightly pained noise as she asked it.
“Why didn’t he just let us die?”
The question obviously seemed to make Maki as uncomfortable asking it as Kaito felt hearing it her hair becoming increasingly unkempt as she fiddled with it, when he offered her no response she continued.
“I… I didn’t want to think about it… It was hard thinking about how easily manipulated I was and when we were told nothing was real I didn’t think it mattered you were alive and so was Ouma… It didn’t matter” Maki said as she tried to collect herself “… but he didn’t know it wasn’t real, and even if he somehow did then that means he did this to himself willingly… he let himself die at best and forced himself into a coma at worst but he didn’t need to… you were going to die anyway because of your illness but he still chose to give you the antidote… I ‘survived’ because of that” Maki’s eyes furrows before she turns her gaze to him eyes begging for answers he doesn’t have asking the same questions he can’t bring himself to ask.
“He could have just let you die and then he could have just let *me* die… why… why didn’t he?”
Kaito ran his hands down his face, feeling so, so tiered. Ouma’s unconscious body provided no answers.
“I don’t know Harumaki… I just… don’t know.”
A girl Kaito’s never seen before stands with Amami outside one of the pod room one day Amami introduces her as a classmate from his last season Kotobuki Yukari, Amami asks if Kaito has still been visiting Ouma to which Kaito responds with an ‘of course!’ and a thumbs up trying to show the same amount of certainty and charisma he was somehow capable of in the game.
The girl rolls her eyes and tells Kaito to save the jokes for his hairstyle.
Four months.
Shuichi and the others had managed to change the world and stop the killing games finally showing that they were wrong. For four months.
That’s how long it took before fans started talking about Danganronpa again, before reruns started showing and the popularity of the show began to pick up again.
That’s how long it took for the outside world to grow more and want and miss the same stimulation they had just been convinced was wrong.
Four months.
Suddenly his trips to see Kokichi now also became about trying to avoid Team Danganronpa’s employees who had been cornering them all about interviews and photo-shoots and trying to escape his own voice playing on the TV of the hospital televisions.
Kaito was popular.
In any other circumstance he’d have been happy about that statement but having people tell him how much they loved his ‘character’ left nothing but a bitter taste in his mouth.
Statements that he had once worked so hard to earn; that he was ‘inspirational’, that he was ‘heroic’ how he was able to bring out the best in everyone… it all felt like an insult.
But Kaito’s popularity, none of their popularity compared to Ouma’s, people either finding him hilarious or tragic. Theories and analysis and music and art all dedicated to the supreme leader.
Ouma’s statements about having a ten thousand subordinates might actually be an understatement if you counted his fans. Despite his loss of love from his classmates in the game Ouma Kokichi seemed to have captured the hearts of fans worldwide.
He was consistently on the top of fan favorite character lists for the fifty-third seasons despite being the only one who hadn’t appeared in a single interview or photo shoot.
In fact Ouma’s coma might have made him more popular than appearing in the public eye could make any of them, Kaito was getting the feeling that the hospital was getting overwhelmed by the constant gifts sent by fans wishing for Kokichi’s recovery.
Enough flowers to fill a green house and crates and crates of cards and panta and sweets and toys, Kaito even saw that some people had bought Ouma stars.
It was hard for those not to feel like a punch in a gut.
It had taken six months but one day on his way to visit Ouma, Kaito was met with a swarm of doctors and nurses rushing to the pod room and Kaito’s heart almost stops when he sees Shirogane’s almost worried face as there is shouting from the pod room to help stabilize the patient.
Kaito’s body seems to realize what’s happening before his body as by the time he finally realizes what’s happening hospital staff is already holding him back from trying to charge into the pod room.
He nearly punches the orderly trying to calm him down as Ouma’s screams rip through the halls of the hospital.
If Kaito hadn’t considered himself some kind of protector to Ouma than he sure as hell did now as he stood in front of Kokichi’s hospital room glaring at one of danganronpa’s representatives giving a definite ‘no Ouma wasn’t up for a camera crew to burst into his room and have an interview on the first day he’s been awake'.
It took Maki joining him to finally get the employee to back down.
“Go I’ll wait out here,” Maki mumbled playing with her hair and Kaito felt a wave of gratitude as he stepped inside Ouma’s room knowing that she’d stop any threat from coming near them.
Ouma almost looks like he’s drowning in the gifts surrounding him that fill the room, from what Kaito’s heard there are even more on the way as fans celebrate the final contestant waking up. He’s pretty sure Ouma’s made the news.
With a sigh Kaito moves a gift basket off a chair and sits down to do the same thing he’s done every day for the past six months, wait.
Kaito had been imaging what he would say to Ouma multiple times coming up with questions and speeches but all that seems to disappear and Ouma’s eyes flicker open with confusion and uncertainty somehow looking more fragile than ever.
Ouma tries to speak but gets raspy coughs for his trouble and Kaito practically falls over himself trying to give him water and reassure him before hospital staff push him out of the room.
Kaito almost feels like Kokichi’s shadow as he hovers over the other boy as he struggles to eat, struggles to walk, struggles to do most things as he seems to try and fit his utter bewilderment at everything under that mask of his.
Kokichi seems uncertain around him and practically uncomfortable around Shuichi but after Maki had blurted out an apology and Kokichi had disappeared into a room with Iruma and Gonta for a while, the shadows under his eyes seem to lessen
Kaito had felt so useless back when Kokichi had still been in his pod; he’s not sure why he thought he’d be any less useless when Kokichi woke up. It wasn’t enough that Kokichi’s body had been messed up by everything but the fact that even his mind hadn’t escaped harm stung.
Claustrophobia, Kokichi was claustrophobic now.
It almost felt wrong in a sense, Kokichi was nimble and small to squeeze into tight spaces and hide in air vents and anything else he needed to do to cause mischief and chaos, but he couldn’t do that anymore.
Because of Kaito.
They’d found out by accident, Kaito had wheeled Kokichi into the elevator with Maki and Shuichi trailing him and suddenly when the elevator doors shut Kokichi had began to breath as if he was drowning, breaths becoming quicker and more shallow until he was gasping for air Kaito completely frozen not even understanding what was happening let alone what to do.
Shuichi pauses at his side as he watches Kokichi try to scramble out of his wheelchair and fail due to his body being too weak, muscles unable to support him from lack of use, before moving to kneel beside Kokichi as the smaller boy begins to curl in on himself.
"Ouma-kun. Breathe." Shuichi commands in a voice of certainty that Kaito hasn’t heard outside of the class trials
Despite how much Kokichi seemed to pride himself in doing the opposite of what people he actually seemed to be trying to follow Shuichi’s instructions, tears springing to the corners of his eyes as the air fails to make its way into his lungs.
"I need you to count with me. Can you do that?" Shuichi asks both gently and uncertainly.
Kokichi nods and drops his head between his knees, as Shuichi is crouching in front of him gently coaxing him. "Just repeat after me. One."
Kokichi’s breathing somehow gets faster, and he shakes his head. Shuichi puts a hand on his arm. "You're okay. Come on. One."
Kokichi glares at the arm for a second as if he’s thinking about shaking it off off, but instead seems to decide on focusing on his breathing and sucks a breath in between his teeth. "One," he gets out, and the word ends up being more like four syllables, but it's a sound and it's there and Kaito somehow feels a wave of relief from such a simple number
"That's great. Keep going. Two." Shuichi encourages with a determined nod.
"T-t-two," Kokichi gasps, and then three, and four, and by the time he has counted to ten, the elevator doors have opened, Maki’s rushed out and Kokichi is breathing again.
When the hospital staff burst in Kokichi’s shaking has stopped as Shuichi steps aside and begins explaining that Kokichi had a panic attack. Kaito watches his sidekick resolve the situation and feels a familiar prickle of jealousy.
“Momota-kun are you angry at me?” Saihara asks uncertainly after Kokichi’s first attack reaching for a hat that’s no longer there. Kaito paused in shock, why the hell would Kaito be angry at Shuichi? He was the one that had managed to actually do something.
“What are you talking about?” Kaito asks in confusion as Shuichi looks down in something resembling shame.
“I- I knew Ouma-kun was having a panic attack and I, I paused for a second before helping him,” Shuichi admitted staring at the floor as what he just said sunk in.
“Oh,”
“Yeah…”
Kaito knew the moment of silence he took as he shoved down some bitter emotions was too long, was probably too worrying but Kaito needed to take a minute before collecting himself and encouraging Shuichi with a thumbs up,
“What's important is that you decided to help him,” Kaito said both for himself and Shuichi who looked both slightly relieved and still a bit nervous as they walked down the halls in silence for a few moments before Kaito spoke up again.
“...Do you think you can teach me how to do that though?”
Apparently every season of contestants living arrangements after the game follow a trend; the contestants all get one big house together, they break up into smaller groups or cliques or they all go their separate ways their memories from their respective games too painful for the reminder they give each other.
While most of them are all on some level still caught up with their various bullshit and awkwardness from the game Kaito’s glad they haven’t all gone their separate ways completely. It’s not sixteen people crammed into one house but at least everyone is paired up with someone. Except for Shirogane because fuck her.
Rantarō chose to live with that Kotobuki girl that was one of the two ‘survivors’ of the second game which Kaito can respect even if something in him still feels a bit of disappointment at being unable to tell if Amami was really part of their group or not but for now Kaito’s decided that he is, the mysterious adventurer just as messed up from the game as the rest of them especially memory wise though from what he hears that’s getting better. He’s called Kotobuki ‘Ushiromiya’ a while back and apparently that was her name in the game. She’d changed it to stay out of public eye as much as possible.
Kaito wondered if he’d ever have to change his name to deal with all the hassle Danganronpa has given him but he can’t imagine it. No matter what anyone says he’s Kaito Momota luminary of the stars!
Still Amami being in good hands and Tsumugi doing who knows what Kaito’s glad that the group is sticking together. Angie and Shingūji are weirdly enough living together, which should be a cause for concern, but Tojo is with them so she should stop them from doing anything too crazy and Iruma and Kiibo were living together with Gonta and Hoshi. Though all their houses had a spare room for Hoshi, it made him smile at the thought of the tennis player who had been convinced he had nothing to live for now had several places to call home.
Kaito would admit he’d always been a bit of a social butterfly so it shouldn’t be surprised that his group was the biggest one but for some reason he still was. Kokichi would probably make fun of him if he voiced this however but he was still reeling over how this all happened.
At first Kaito didn’t really care about living arrangements other than his plan to stick with Kokichi, those months he spent by the liar’s bedside just waiting for the smaller boy to wake up he’d promised he wasn’t going to let Kokichi crawl back in his shell. In his bad moments when physical therapy was too hard and Kokichi’s frustration of *still* not being able to walk on his own got to him the liar had accused Kaito of simply trying to ease his own guilt. That wasn’t it and he should know it but Kaito couldn’t fully blame him for thinking it, it’s just after everything that happened in the hanger leaving Kokichi alone left a pit in his stomach.
So whether the smaller boy liked it or not Kaito was sticking with him! But then it turned out that Shuichi and Harumaki wanted to stick with Kaito which he didn’t mind he’d be glad to have his sidekicks with him! But then it turned out Yumeno was coming with his sidekicks the three ‘survivors’ sticking together and Chabashira obviously followed Yumeno and Akamatsu who had grown especially close to Chabashira during their time in the hospital followed the Aikido master and that’s how the seven of them all started living together.
Not that he minded it was great but seven high-schoolers under one roof was just asking for drama he thought as he watched the awkward air between Shuichi and Akamatsu across from the kitchen.
He’d just wanted to get a cup of coffee.
They were getting better, or at least Kaito believed they were. Kokichi was walking again and though he was forcing him to take his meds and go to therapy Kokichi was gradually looking like he was more at peace with himself.
Shuichi and Akamatsu were trying to sort out their bullshit or at least the air between them wasn’t so tense.
Everyone in the house was talking more, smiling more and though interviews, and photo shoots and panels and responsibilities were something actively working against their progress they were all getting better.
At least Kaito thought so as he help Kokichi’s hand while he turned off the TV the latest character poll putting Kokichi in the number one slot once again.
The day started like any other they’re all talking, all eating breakfast and making their own plans for the day. Shuichi walked in and passed along their mail hesitantly giving Kokichi a heavy letter and everyone’s movements slow at the sight of the all too familiar logo.
They all seem to share a frown and Kokichi dramatically rolls his eyes as he reaches over and opens the envelope though Kaito spots the flicker of worry that flashes through his eyes.
After all this time Kaito’s still not sure if those rare moments are because Kokichi let’s his mask down at least a little bit around them or if Kaito’s simply gotten that good at reading the smaller boy. Maybe it was a mix of both.
He watches Kokichi’s eyes skim the letter, and then skim it again and again each time looking more and more panicked, looking more and more distressed before his face goes blank and the letter slips from his grip.
Kokichi looks seconds away from another panic attack the rest of the houses occupants are by Kokichi’s side as Kaito picks up Kokichi’s letter and reads…
Kaito would swear he felt his heart shatter.

Kaede’s gentle smile (her actions made me feel very conflicted at first, but she was really nice regardless)

Shuuichi falling from the locker
Shuuichi’s hat and him being a fucking adorable emo in general
Shuuichi’s “hmm mmm”
Rantaro supporting Kaede but also worrying for her (supposedly protecting her over suspicions of Tsumugi being the mastermind in his and Kaede’s bonus scene, according to Tv Tropes…)
Kaede and Rantaro’s very brief relationship in its whole (bonus: her FTEs with him were gold)
Rantaro and everything about him in general (he’s a normie, so what Tsumugi, you meanie D:)
Maki and Kaito’s earlier shenanigans since Chapter 1
EDIT: Kaito encouraging and supporting Kaede and defending her against everybody… this was too good and damn, how could I let this slide >:(

Tenko’s inner contemplative and wiser side, her last speech to Himiko on emotions touched me a lot, why did it end like that
Miu showing her truest self in Kiibo’s company

Kaito constantly thinking about improving the training for his sidekicks

Kaito also thinking of Kokichi at random, at times wondering what’s in the latter’s mind and at times worrying despite his anger at him
Shuuichi mentally admitting to himself to be envious over Himiko being able to pet animals any time she wants (like tigers, which would imply that Shuuichi is… a cat boi…)
Kiibo and Miu being at the same wavelength in Chapter 3

The girls finding out their S/O is pregnant ?
Oh dear… This one gave me all sorts of inspiration.
 Maki Harukawa
She’s noticed your odd behaviour.
Whenever you talk, you seem skittish and timid.
In fact, you rarely talk to her anymore.
You only respond.
Whenever she tries to be more physical with you, you shut her down very quickly.
It’s all she catches you throwing up early one morning that it goes unnoticed.
Her first instinct is to help you, but then the pieces fall together.
She crouches down to your level and is silent for a good minute or two.
She leans in and whispers harshly.
“Who?”
You jump but keep silent.
She keeps repeating what she had said earlier.
You don’t even remember their name. It was an impulsive, stupid decision.
Impulsive, dumb, stupid, horrible…
You keep repeating these things in your head until she leaves the room.
You don’t see her again.
 Kirumi Toujou
She, of course, believes this is a common illness.
She has NO idea.
It’s crossed her mind, certainly but that’s out of the question.
You’re her S/O, right?
You’d consult her if you wanted children, correct?
Her thoughts are set in stone.
No pregnancy in this house. Not from you, not from her.
Then she notices the weight gain.
It doesn’t look like NATURAL gain, either.
Then it clicks.
She was right all along.
She was RIGHT ALL ALONG.
She isn’t heartless, however, and looks after you during the pregnancy.
Because she feels the need to, not because she loves you enough to do so.
 Angie Yonaga
You wonder if you can bullshit your way through this.
You even consider using her religious ways to your advantage.
You decide that’s the only way.
“Angie… Did God tell you about what happened?”
You never talk about Angie’s God, so why this all of a sudden?
She’s confused??
“Your God… He… I’m pregnant.”
She completely buys it.
The pregnancy goes smoothly and Angie is a bit of a clumsy mother but when the child grows up, they’re incredibly confused on how they came to be.
They end up being the reason Angie moves away. The child exposed you.
You feel like you aren’t worthy enough to have this child in your custody.
 Kaede Akamatsu
You had always made jokes about cheating and stuff like that.
She wasn’t a fan of it at all, but she let it slide.
After all, it WAS just a joke, right?
The joke stopped being funny when morning sickness rolled around.
She confronts you about it immediately.
“How could you do this to me?! To the child?!”
She’s panicked.
You suddenly feel the weight of the situation press on your chest.
This is real life. You’ve just lost somebody important to you.
Kaede bumps that number up to TWO important people on the morning of your child’s 3rd birthday.
 Miu Iruma
You know she’s going to flip out if you tell her.
You keep it hidden for as long as you can.
One night, Iruma tries to make a move.
You can’t tell her why you can’t… do THAT but it crosses your mind.
You’re usually not one to refuse.
She’s hella confused.
Why aren’t you-
Then she resorts to cuddling. Even she respects boundaries.
Then, she feels some movement coming from your stomach. She lets it slide the first time.
It happens again.
And again.
Then it clicks and she immediately leaves the room.
You can hear her dejected sobs all throughout the night.
In the morning, it’s obvious she hasn’t slept and she’s still crying her eyes out.
By this point, she’s lost her voice.
You break up with her to save her the pain of going through this.
 Himiko Yumeno
You have an idea on how to reveal this to her.
You knew what you were getting yourself into when you had slept with another but you didn’t think it would be a problem.
You had to precisely plan how and when this would all take place which of course, went you had to sacrifice some sleep.
Himiko KNEW exhaustion and she could see your mental health slowly, ever so slowly, deteriorating.
She doesn’t question it, though. She doesn’t want to be intrusive.
One day, you finally decide to reveal it to her.
“Hey, Himiko… Has your MP been on a high lately?”
Your heart is thumping as she gives you a confused look.
“It seems… It’s a miracle, I’m pregnant!”
You swear you could feel your eye twitch.
She smiles brightly, “Oh, really?!”
Her eyes seem to be sparkling.
“I’m excited, of course, that you’ve decided to tell me what you’ve been up to. I’m not that dumb.”
Your heart nearly skips a beat.
You’re not surprised to see a post-it note saying ‘Goodbye.’ in scribbly writing lying on your dressing the next morning.
 Tsumugi Shirogane
She notices extremely quickly.
The sizes for her cosplays keep shrinking.
She starts documenting the size changes.
It’s becoming obvious now.
She quietly asks about it one day.
You’re so overcome with emotion.
You don’t know what to do so all you can do is cry.
You don’t know what to say.
You don’t know how to feel.
All you can do is cry, even after she’s packed up and left you.
 Tenko Chabashira
You try and avoid her.
She’s very violent, well, not violent but unpredictable.
You don’t want to be near her in this state.
She decides to come over and visit one day.
As soon as she sees you in the state you’re in, she knows.
Her face falls glum.
She then rushes over to you and pleads.
She’s asking why you did this, why you AGREED to this with another person.
Is it because Tenko can’t do it?
Or… is Tenko not enough? Were you seeing others?
You refuse to answer and calmly ask Tenko to leave you. For good.
She quickly agrees but doesn’t let the issue go unsolved.
A punch square in the nose fixes it for her.
She’s all good now and can leave.
