Alright i’m putting down my official timeline

2017: met and became bsfs

2018-2021: imma say summer of 2018 is when they started being fwb based on what we now know and remained just that until late 2021

Late 2021/early 2022 to present: officially dating

I know there’s a bit of debate on when they became official, and that the other theory is august/sept 2022 after p got injured but i always think back to mackenzie’s “chill people girlfriends are on this app” comment so i really do think they were already official by early 2022

Anyway none of this is that groundbreaking since i’m assuming this is what a lot of people prolly think. And i just don’t think they would have been serious in high school (as much as i’d love the idea of high school sweethearts, i think they really were just messing around pre-college).

Also, i do believe they’re very much tg rn, like everything we’ve seen in the past year, heck in the past few months seems to indicate that and them at draft night just kinda sealed the settled ma and pa vibes ya know 😅

So I only recently rejoined the tg fandom (and I plan to stay) but I discovered some active accounts through some interactions with my new posts and I can share some I noticed and already actually follow myself. If you wanna discover more you can also check some new popular posts in the tg tag and find new people, which is what I tried to do. Not a lot of people are left in the fandom so a lot of names will be frequent and familiar!

Z visited The Museum of Sex in NYC on Jun 21st, 2017 while she was in the midst of Spidey promo and just before her TGS trailer was released. It was not a secret visit. She even posted about it on her Snap. I think it was a deliberate action to make fans realize that she was a grown woman and not a little girl. We see to this day some people have trouble seeing her as a grown woman. I don’t understand why people on twitter said that sweet creature is for gemma, harry said this tonight?

He didn’t say Sweet Creature was for Gemma, as in “I wrote this song about my sister”. He said he was playing it for her tonight. Just like he said he was playing Love of My Life for his friend, Jonny.

“The first time I came to London my sister brought me here (...). I’d like to play a song for her tonight, I haven’t played this one in a while.”

However, antis have always tried to explain the song away as being about her—mainly because of the line “we started, two hearts in one home”.

That doesn’t really explain away the ridiculous horse noises interview in 2017 and why H didn’t just say it was about his sister instead of floundering around for a minute hemming and hawing and blowing raspberries.

Maybe because it’s a very odd song to write about your sister since it so clearly sounds like a love song. And given that it comes right after Two Ghosts right in the middle of the album, they seem to be a pair. And TG really doesn’t sound like it’s about his sister.

Most importantly, given the phrase Sweet Creature is from Othello, one of Shakespeare’s plays, and has long been interpreted through a homoerotic lens, it seems even less likely to be about his sister.

But if they want to think he wrote a love song with a homoerotic twist about Gemma, go ahead.

one of the weirdest things to me about KanColle fanfiction circa 2016-2020

There was one quest on 4chan’s /tg/ named Kant-O-Celle Quest. It died around the start of 2017. It wasn’t that amazing - the writer was good at what he did prose wise, enough to keep people coming back for more, but he couldn’t keep the quest on track in a cohesive manner.

He had a notable character in the form of a Japanese admiral named Admiral Goto.

Essentially every single KanColle-derived fanfiction afterward had an admiral named Admiral Goto. Most of them were basically carbon copies of the Goto in KCQ.

No other Kant-O-Celle Quest character has otherwise popped up in other KanColle fanfics — but Admiral Goto was everywhere, and I don’t know why. Perhaps a couple people directly referenced KCQ, then it became a thing of its own as others referenced them. If you had a Japanese admiral in your KanColle fanfic, he had to be a Goto.

not a tomgreg hater but i do believe in their beliefs. eh i can talk about it, it's just not very fun lol and is mostly about out-of-fiction fandom or actor stuff, not really the characters themselves

strike 1 is sometime early 2022 i think? people got extremely mad at me for saying i think some tomgreg posts/fics/etc treat shiv in a pretty shitty way by either completely villainizing her as the Evil Bitch Wife or just quietly removing her from the picture, which isn't as overtly misogynistic but still feels very unfair to her character and discounts the importance of tom and shiv's relationship both to tom's character and to his relationship with greg. people continuing to be extremely mad at me for this has been a recurring theme since and left a really bad taste in my mouth wrt tg and posting about it ❤️

strike 2 is that my blog got terminated, which meant not just my succession sideblog but multiple years of my posts and art across blogs that i'd been making since like 2017. what did i get terminated for? i got pissed off that everyone was passing around an article written by a journalist too transphobic for the guardian who was interviewing nick braun and clearly allowing her obsession with greg/tomgreg to overstep professional boundaries. and everyone was just fine with it because 'omg the author is clearly a tomgreg XD' as if it wasn't an incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional way to conduct an interview. the response to the article was disturbing enough wrt displaying how people's opinions on shipping fictional characters influence their views on the real people involved. but then i got reported for pointing out the article was creepy and getting mad, and my blog was deleted. :)

final strike is that i just really can't stand looking at nick braun's face at this point. i completely sincerely and genuinely hope he dies

in a general sense, most of the posts discussion etc surrounding tomgreg are just not interesting to me/don't engage with the aspects of succession or even tom and greg's relationship that i want to talk about. which is fine i'm a hater but it's never that serious it's just Not 4 Me, godspeed, etc. the fact i have a kneejerk unpleasant emotional reaction to 99.99% of tg content is purely a me thing and not a value judgment, but yeah i just don't want to see it LMFAO

I remember vividly reading your old fics like the Misadventures of Goat and Nothing more nor less than a mask and just thriving off those when new chapters came out! Or any of your idea posts!

Also to all the other kind members of that fandom made it a really special little community. I miss all the art and fics and blogs…I’m sad it went sour…( it actually made me leave the fandom for a while! )
