i’m on vacation and i have a lot of free time and nothing excites me more these days than those two damn boys so i tried to do a thing last night: put their songs that i think that are related to their relationship in a order like songs that capture the euphoria and passion of the first everything, first kiss first love etc etc ‘i could do everything for you’ kind of thing (kill my mind, late night talking, adore you) & then the first issues, when you still love someone so so so much and he’s everything and you can’t live without but the issue exists and it’s there (golden), and it’s followed by a mix of the lack of communication, pride, fear, isolation by one (for all the losses) and the desperation and overthinking by another and the general pressure put on both (i picked satellite, two ghosts, meet me in the hallway) and, as you said here, "history about how we were apart for a bit, got fucked up, then realized we can't be apart for very long, as we always should've known really but i guess we're stupid, but anygays now we're happily at home, together" song (and i prefer to interpret this way too despite being hard to know) (headline, from the dining table, miss you, always you, walls, as it was) and then, finally, the kitchen conversation, where they want to be able to listen to each other and be vulnerable and have a mature conversation where they reaffirm how crazy they are for each other and want their relationship to work out (too young, defenceless, habit, lucky again, face the music) and then there’s it, they are firmly together, they’re each other home and it’s all worth it because together they’re better (sweet creature, all this time, we made it, the greatest) and the next and last leg of tracks it’s basically their domestic life, facing the issues being together, tasting the longing, joys, always inspiring each other and ready to give up everything for the loved one (daydreaming, canyon moon, daylight, little freak, written all over your face, sunflower vol6, love of my life, keep driving & grapejuice). i decided to share with you because i LIVE for your analysis and i always want to discourse about their lyrics and love❤️❤️❤️ and i know that’s nothing is linear and racional but putting in a order was fun and my messy brain says thank you !!

i love this <333 bc like you said at the end, it's just fun to find a storyline in it, and then i also love to scramble it all up. bc then when you have this and you start all over again it still makes sense. even years down the line there will be the same stupid little issues that were there at the start. or if you take this line and start zigzagging yk?? there's so much depth in their music and one of the true joys of going through the eras with them - basically growing up with them - is seeing how they handle their problems differently... or always the same way lol. sometimes a bitch never changes. in any case, it's been so wonderful to have them there while experiencing the same things, or to hear their perspective on love after knowing it deeply for so many years. and also to see their very human side and hear their pettiness or stubbornness, same as when they were 16 and 18. life is beautifully messy like that

Has this uncanny knack for finding things people would be unable to decide if they like or not, like say a keychain of their fave character for example, but the character is doing some weird bizarre ooc shit or its some on the most unhinged knock off of the original they’ve ever seen

Will tell you wrong information with his whole ass chest. He believes it. He is a a bit dumbass. Himbo-y if you will. Is shocked when he realizes he is in fact wrong and thinks you’re fucking with him. don’t get mi started on da actual decorating part! i always thought dat yoichi was good at drawing since one of his fav subjects was art hwehe so ofc he gives you a smug little smirk when he sees how messy your gingerbread man looks compared to his, ofc dat grin goes away when you huff and pluck off his gingerbread man’s gum drop bcz gasp ! “how dare you?! a gum drop button?! those are precious!” he’d whine while grumbling and taking the bowl of frosting and using his finger to smear it across your nose. oh now it’s an all out war ! the kitchen is filled with the da sounds of your giggles ‘n shouting as you chase each other around your apartment, trying to run as fast as you can away from him but he’s so fast! he’s much too fast but you shouldn’t be surprised, he’s a professional athlete so when he catches you by your waist and spins you around so fast it makes the both of you dizzy, ‘n he falls onto the plush cushions of your couch while you two pant and laugh breathlessly, mindlessly looking up at the ceiling. it’s quiet for a few minutes, both of you basking in the delightful sounds of crackling fire from your fireplace and the gosh scent of gingerbread and vanilla frosting wafts over to you both like a warm hug . “come here,” he murmurs to you, reaching for your hand lazily as you thread your fingers together. you crawl into his arms and cling, gently throwing your leg over his own and he drops a kiss onto the crown of your head. “merry christmas.”
