You try to explain yourself, but the the stone has been dropped and the avalanche has begun to flow. Oh yes, you can try to get ahead of it, but you'll just be swept into the destruction. You can delete the post, but that won't remove it from the reblogs, or the threads they spawned. Deleting will be taken as concession that your detractors are right. You can delete your account, but that isn't enough. The corpse of your post will be dragged through the streets by a cheering crowd. You can wish it would stop, but it won't. It has a life of its own now, and even if it settles, quieting down to a merciful calm after a few weeks or months of making you suffer, that isn't the end. Oh no, nothing here ever truly dies, and there is no way to claw back what you have come to regret.

Don't wish for for fame in this place, no good will come of it.
