FLATLINE | PAIGE BUECKERS
➣ paige x fem!gf!reader
➣ summary: y/n and paige experience what it means to be in a long distance relationship, but with the distance between them, can they overcome it?
➣ warning : secret relationship, angst (kinda) ,long distance.
➣ duayaps: first post🥳🥳🥳, thoughts?
➣ inspired by flatline by justin bieber.
Tumblr media
"I'LL MISS YOU" paige muttered against her neck.
"it'll go by before you know it" y/n said pulling away from the hug. When college applications started being filled, she took a big risk and applied for Politecnico di Milano, a fashion uni in Milan, Italy. She had already said goodbye to her parents, thinking that was the hardest goodbye she could imagine, but the tears in her eyes from saying goodbye to her girlfriend right now, told her she lied to herself a while ago.
Paige and y/n had always had a rocky side of their relationship, for one, it was a secret waiting to bomb the world, two, they always knew that long distance was going to be a thing for them. With Paige going to Uconn and Yn going to PDM, 'it was already doomed' said by most people. But overcoming the rocky side of their relationship, there was the fairytale side. The one where they in love, where they supported each other in everything, where they took each others first kisses, first everything. They were each other's lifelines in a way, they didn't go a day without speaking to each other.
They both hoped that these future 4 years, weren’t going to change their feelings of each other.
Lately you've been busy, wondering if you miss me
Why did you go against me? I just wanna know
How come you act so different? Talk to me, I'll listen
All the love I'm giving, don't act like you don't know
“…leave a message after the tone” y/n sighed as she hung up the phone. It was 7am and her alarm had just gone off, Paige was most likely asleep. It’s 1am at Storrs.
If you put the time difference aside, they were doing well. Both of them spent at least 2 hours everyday on the phone and haven’t had an any problems yet.
But it’s only been 5 months. 7 months and 3 years to go.
Y/n was glad Paige settled in great, she got along with her teammates and had a great support system there. Paige became a media star, with that came many fans. While y/n wasn’t the jealous type, these fans were wild.
She opened her instagram app, and slowly started to scroll through stories. When she stopped, went stiff. “Oh” she muttered, her girlfriend’s teammate, Aaliyah, had posted a story with the Uconn women’s basketball team having fun ,at what she would guess, a bar. Paige is in the background , a girl sitting next to her, whiles shes on the phone. Y/n quickly checked when the story was posted,10minutes ago.
‘Okay so she could’ve just posted this when she came home’ y/n quickly assured herself. Paige wouldn’t just ignore her calls, especially on a night out, right?
As those thoughts filled her head, a notification sound came from her phone.
pb 👩🏼‍❤️‍💋‍👩🏽
gm baby. can’t talk, tired, going to bed.
y/n didn’t think anything, she couldn’t. She just typed ‘sweet dreams💗’ and hit send.
no i love you, no ily, not even an emoji.
‘Stop, don’t overthink this ,shes just tired’ she told herself. She shut her phone off and got out of bed, leaving her thoughts about P in her comfy bed.
:
It had been a month since the bar incident, and everything seemed normal, until a week ago.
Y/n just got out of work, a small intern job to help her graduate early. It was 6pm in Milan, and 12 in Storrs. On her way home, y/n called P.
The phone rang, 1,2,3 times before she hung up. Tried a gain, 1,2,3. User is busy.Paige had hung up on her, she didn’t think much of it. ‘She’s probs busy’.
That was 6 days ago.
While they exchange texts, no calls were made this week. Paige was busy, like really busy, But not busy ‘not go out with her friends for the 3rd time this week’ busy. Y/n got it, freshman year, new teammates, she had to have fun. She also knew that their relationship was on the down low. Even though she assured Paige that it was okay to tell her teammates, P reluctantly agreed. ‘I don’t know, i’ll see’ She muttered to y/n, 2 weeks ago on their normal facetime call.
Y/n didn’t want to think much of it, she didn’t want her overthinking to brew a fight. The last 2 years she was back home, her and paige had never gone a day without speaking to each other, but so what it stopped now?, it was common sometimes to not call. So she let it be, but Paiges text became more and more rare, more dry and definitely more weird.
But y/n knew, paige was just busy.
Girl you always catch me at the bad time (Bad time)
When I know you probably think it's a lie (A lie)
I know I told you last time was the last time (Last time)
How could you pull the plug and leave me flatline?
On the other end of the phone. Y/n hit the red button, and ended the call. She hit her head on the wall behind her in frustration, thankful that the call wasn’t on facetime and Paige could see her sad face.
Y/n had called in sick at work so she could watch Paiges game in peace, her boss gave her an earful, because it was one of the more busier seasons in the fashion world, but she let her be ‘sick in bed’. She was proud of Paige, and was the happiest for her.
But the mood drifted when she heard the voice tell her they need her. ‘I need her too’ Y/n thought. This was the first time in a month that Y/n heard Paiges voice. Her heart clenched when she heard her sound weird, it sounded like she was frustrated. Frustrated with who though, with y/n?.
As time went quick, it felt like Paiges texts were more rare, and even more dry. And Y/n didn’t know if Paige was aware of the way she was acting, she also didn’t know if she should say anything, Paige was a freshman in college having fun, alone, without Y/n next to her.
If Y/n were to say anything, she didn’t want to seem like the bitchy jealous girlfriend that only wanted Paige to spend time with her, she just wanted Paige to spend some time with her.
It felt like their relationship was a bomb, and their time was running out quickly.
How could you pull the plug and leave me flatline? (Flatline)
Cause when I hit you, you don't even reply (Reply)
How could you pull the plug and leave me flatline?
Not breathing, what is it I'm not seeing
Said she's leaving, damn I can't believe it
It's like my heart's bleeding knowing that you don't need me
Shut my heart down, now I don't know what Imma do now
“… i just need some space y/n” Paige said with frustration, a sigh coming after. Y/n’s heart dropped.
It all started an hour and a half ago.
Paige went out with her teammates after a late night practice, forgetting that y/n was waiting on her phone call that she promised she would do after practice.
After she came home, she was bombarded with messages from Y/n. 8 to be exact.
y/n💍
hey did you finish practice?
- 8:15PM
you ready?
- 8:18PM
paige?
- 8:20PM
paigeeeeeeee???
- 8:30PM
pbabyyyy
- 8:35PM
pls tell me u didn’t forget
- 8:45PM
paige are you fucking kidding me
- 9:45PM
it’s our anniversary
- 9:45PM
call me when you get home and make sure you’re not busy
- 9:50PM
And when she called, the yelling happened. It was the first fight they’ve had in a while. While Y/n finally exploded demanding to know what’s happening with her, Paige only had one thing to say.
“I think we should take a break”
“What?” Y/n whispered after a long pause.
“i’m not ready to be in a relationship Y/n/n, i’m still questioning what i want, and i don’t know if its you yet.” Paige said. “I’m sorry, i just need some space Y/n”
Y/n heart dropped, she didn’t know what to say or think. While Y/n knew that not everything lasted, Paige was a sure thing. Paige was her lifeline. What was she going to do?.
Y/n gulped and said the only thing she knew she could say “It’s okay”.
‘It’s okay?’ Paige was taken back. Had Y/n want to breakup before?, and then Paige shockingly felt hurt in her chest, her stomach slightly dropped. Why was she feeling like this? why isn’t she feeling relief?. This has been on Paiges mind for the past 3 months, wasn’t this the solution?
“Go be a superstar but don’t expect me to wait for you while you figure out what you want to do” Y/n said, her voice sweet. Not even a slight tone of bitterness.
Y/n still wasn’t able to move from her spot on the kitchen counter. Tears were streaming down her face, and before a sob sound could come, she hung up the phone. All Y/n knew was Paige, but know she didn’t even know that.
She had literally left her clueless, without her lifeline. now flatline.
- 5 MONTHS LATER -
Paige stood there, watching from her afar.
“That’s her?” a croatian accent asked. She felt Nika sit beside her. “Yeah” Paige answered still in awe of her.
“She’s really pretty” Nika said. Paige nodded agreeing with her. She was wearing a flowy white short summer dress with cowboy boots.
It was Drews birthday today, and as the team had some off time, Drew invited them to his barbecue party. And the weekend before his birthday, he ran into Y/n. Of course the boy was oblivious to the breakup and while he asked still asked Paige for Y/n, she didn’t have the heart to tell him that they broke up.
So when Drew begged Y/n to come to his birthday party, Y/n didn’t know what else to say but yes. He could literally get whatever he wanted out of everyone.
At first, Y/n debated if she should just call Paiges stepmom and cancel, or she should just go and pray that Paige couldn’t make it.
Well, Paige had come. And so did the rest of the huskies. When Y/n saw them, she sighed. Although she was friends with Azzi, she didn’t know the rest of them, but by the look on their faces when she came in, she knew that Paige had told them her history.
Azzi, being the sweetheart she is, excitedly came running to Y/n and hugging her tight. The whole party they caught up with each other, with Azzi telling her about Uconn and Y/n telling her about studying abroad. For the past 30 minutes they’ve been talking, not once have either of them mentioned Paige.
Y/n turned, meeting Paiges eyes. The two of them made eye contact with each other again. Y/n then heard Azzi laughed, when she snapped her head to look at her friend. She saw a small teasing smile on her face. “Don’t even start” Y/n said, glaring at her. She got up and made her way to the other side of the backyard, where there was no Paige in sight.
“Y/n/n” she heard a child scream. Drew was suddenly hugging her legs. “Hi Drewsky” she laughed, beginning to tickle him. She felt the boy starting to laugh, and start to kick her hands away, while Paige and her were together, Drew became a big part in their relationship. Paiges parents often made Paige babysit Drew, and Y/n just tagged along. Through that time, Drew and Y/n became close, Y/n considered him as a baby brother. She would miss him.
“Paigeyy help me” Drew screamed laughing. Y/n became stiff, the hair behind her neck stood. She could feel her ex behind her as she let the little boy go and stand up.
Paige and Y/n stared at one another. Paige was thankful her teammates weren’t around right now, they would be on her ass all day after this.
“Hi” Y/n whispered, looking away from her and to the ground.
“Hey” Paige said back. “How’ve you been-“
“Paige please no small talk, what do you want?” Y/n cut her off. This was already awkward enough, no need to make it even more.
“Uh” Paige stuttered, a sigh coming after. “I missed you” Paige admitted. Y/n’s blood boiled, now she missed me?
Paige could sense Y/n anger, she placed a hand on Y/n elbow, tugging her from leaving. “Please just wait” Paige pleaded “I’m sorry, i just didn’t know what to do i kept having all of this kind of feelings and i know i was busy but i swear just one more chance-“
“Paige” y/n cut her off
“- and i’ll promise i’ll try harder-“ paige continued
“-stop-“ she tried to stop her
“please just give me one more chance”
“-okay” she agreed. Paiges eyes went wide, she didn’t think she would get her to agree that easy.
“I only needed you to apologize P, i only want you to make some time for me thats all. And if were really trying this again you have to be sure you want this because i don’t know if i can handle loosing you again” She said still looking at the ground.
Paiges heart dropped hearing her voice break. Although she knew how Y/n felt, Paige had been nothing but moody, grumpy and miserable these past few months. Seeing Y/n today, brought her hope that she had a second shot with her.
Y/n slowly picked up her head, and looked up at Paige. Paige was jaw dropping hot, and she knew that, her head couldn’t get any bigger by her ego.
Paige reached a hand towards her waist, pulling Y/n towards her. When she did, she slowly dropped a sweet kiss on her girlfriends lips, when she pulled away, her forehead dropped to Y/n’s.
She felt like she could finally breathe, her chest no longer hurt. She had her lifeline back.

freshman 50 (freshman 15 part 2)
Jake was delusional. He had gained over 15 pounds in the few months he had been at college and he didn’t even know it. He still saw himself as the perfect image of a man. His smooth abs we’re completely gone and he had a bit of a belly covered in a small layer of peach fuzz. Even Ben had noticed jakes weight gain. And he liked it. Ben had a crush on Jake since the moment they became roommates. The perfect brown hair, the ocean blue eyes, and Jake only became hotter as his stomach grew.
Ben realized that Jake was completely oblivious to the fact that he was getting fat. Ben wanted to keep it that way. Whenever Jake would say something about feeling big or eating too much, Ben would shut that idea down by telling Jake how great he looked. He even convinced Jake that the washing machine on campus would shrink his clothes. “Ohhh. That explains why my pants won’t button” Jake would say. Ben would often take jake out for pizza or burgers. Jake would end up eating an entire pizza all by himself because Ben would claim he wasn’t hungry and jake hated wasting food.
by Christmas time, jake had a proper dad bod. His expanding stomach was beginning to hang over his belt and push tight against his biggest shirts. His belly wasn’t the only thing growing either. His ass had gotten significantly larger than before. It would even bounce when he walked. Ben loved it. His thighs had also become thicker. Even his perfect jawline was beginning to fade. When all of his classes stopped for winter break, jake wasn’t getting nearly as much exercise as usual. He would play video games in his underwear and have fast food delivered to his dorm.
jake never told anyone he was gay. He was way too embarrassed to let anyone know. He was even more embarrassed to tell anyone he had a crush on Ben. Ben was so nice to him and he had the perfect body. The dad bod kind of grew on him. One night, jake mustered up the courage to ask Ben out. Ben said yes of course. They would go on dates all the time. Ben would take him to dinner; and jake would devour everything in his sight.
one night, jake decided to step on the scale to make sure he still had his perfect body. 200 pounds. At first, jake was shocked. But he realized the scale must be broken. There was no way he had almost gained 50 pounds in the span of a single semester. He decided to ask ben. “ do I look fat?” “What? No way! You’ve got the perfect body dude”. “But the scale said I was 200 pounds”. “Yikes” ben thought to himself. He knew Jake was getting fat but not THAT fat. “The scale is probably just broken” ben said. “Yeah. You’re right”
holiday treats had a big impact on jakes body. He would go the the store and see fresh treats at the bakery and he couldn’t resist. He would come home with 10 different types of cookies, eggnog, sweet breads, and candies. All of it would be gone by the end of the week. One day he was really hungry and he finished a batch each of gingerbread cookies, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, snickerdoodles, peanut butter cookies, brownies, a gallon and a half of eggnog, a loaf of sweet bread, a slice of cake, and a bag full of peppermint m&ms. Not to mention the McDonald’s he had for lunch. Ben didn’t think it was possible to eat that much and survive but here was Jake. Doing it with ease.
when new years came, Jake only had one resolution. Get bigger clothes. None of his clothes fit anymore. Even his baggy sweatpants were skin tight. Bens New Year’s resolution was to make Jake hit 250 pounds without him noticing. This would prove to be a lot easier than Ben thought because little did he know, in December alone, Jake had gained another 35 pounds. Jake was huge. His average dad bod was now a round ball of a stomach. Ben measured it in his sleep one time. 50 inches. Jake had let the peach fuzz on his stomach grow to a nice hairy gut. His ass was also getting to be huge. It would stretch out his pants like crazy and bounced like a wild balloon. His perfect jawline was now replaced by a proper double chin. Jake didn’t even have to look down for it to show. It was always there. Growing. Jakes perfect pecs we’re now large moobs that sat nicely on his large gut. Even Jakes hands were starting to get chubby. They were turning into little greedy sausages. Jakes entire body would move when he walked. He would get out of breath just walking to class. But Ben wasn’t done fattening him up. He had big plans.

Your so cold.(Pt.1)

Eddie X Reader
Word count:2633, Got a little carried away 🙃.
Warnings: 18+ Language, Somewhat fluff, Forced proximity, Heavy petting, Teasing. (Smut in pt.2)
It was a Friday night and you had had plans to go over to your friend Steve's house for movie night, it had become a tradition since freshman year. You Steve, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan and of course Eddie Munson. Now you didn't really have a problem with him its just he was a little too "wild" for your liking. He always seemed to get you in trouble by doing something stupid then when you would try to bring it up to him the next day he'd say that it wasn't his fault and ignore you, or somehow make it your fault. But since this was Steve's house and not your own you weren't going to be that upset if something happens because then it wouldn't be on you.
As you started to get ready it was already almost 5:00 and you had promised Steve that you would be there at exactly 5:30, not only was he a few blocks away from your house but you also didn't own a car and would have to walk there and it was starting to rain, your only choice was to walk. Now you could have called Eddie but you didn't feel like having him come here with his rusty old van and blowing your eardrums out with his loud music, not that you didn't like his music but you preferred other genres more. As you looked for the umbrella you swore you had put in the holder by the front door the clock was ticking down minute by minute. After a few minutes of searching you decided that you could just brave the rain, and the cold.
As you where walking to Steve's you realized that you had totally forgot to put on a bra earlier and you where wearing a white shirt on top of that, you thought your day couldn't get any worse then you herd it. The familiar sound of screeching tires and a loud stereo from down the road behind you, you tried not to look but he did. "Hey there princes, whatcha doin' out here in the rain?" he said slowing down to talk to you as you kept walking. Covering your chest by crossing your arms you turned to him to talk "Oh you know dont have a ride so i just figured id walk to Steve's" you say laughing a little bit. "You know you could have called me, I would have picked you up in a heartbeat" he says smiling at you with that devilish grin he wore so proudly. "Oh i just figured you had a Hellfire meeting today so i didn't want to bother you" You say obviously lying to him. "But you know that we dont have hellfire meetings on Friday" dropping his smile and squinting his eyes at you. Oh fuck how where you going to get your ass out of this one. "Well I just figured you would have had a campaign or something to do" you said hoping that he wouldn't catch on. "No i did not, but dont you still have the schedule from when you where in hellfire?".
Yes its no surprise that when you where dating Billy Hargrove that he had told you about a drug dealer by the name of Eddie the freak Munson. He had taken you along with him on one of his runs and that was the first time you ever met Eddie, since then you two along with your other friends you have practically been inseparable. After you had broken up with Billy you had seen that there was a new or at least you thought new club at the school called Hellfire. When you got there it was filled with your usual geeks, weirdos and losers but one had stood out among the rest, Eddie. He wasn't like the other people there, the others had good grades and smarts and his was well... questionable. After that first meeting that you went to he started taking you home after school and picking you up in the mornings, you dont know what had changed but one day he didn't show up and you just figured that he was done with you. since then you only really see him at the little party's that your friends throw, and sometimes a casual friendly wave in the hallways but your not as close as you once where.
"Well i'm here now right, you should hop in you seem... cold" he said looking at you, you where visibly shivering and teeth chattering as you spoke. You thought about saying no because you didn't want to make things weird but then if you didn't then you would probably catch hypothermia so you decided getting in was the best option. As you got in you had uncrossed your arms to pull yourself inside, forgetting about your outfit malfunction. Eddie had seen your chest through your shirt as he looked a you getting in and something changed inside of him. He wasn't the smiling Eddie that had just offered you a ride, no he wasn't even looking at you and he was barley even talking to you when you tried to make conversation, why?
The drive to Steve's was silent, Eddie had turned down the music when he stopped to talk to you then jut never turned it up again. You looked out the window and sighed, he noticed and looked over at you. Seeing that you where still shivering. "I uh have a shirt in the back if you want to wear it. its kinda old and ive worn it before but it might be warmer" he said still looking over at you. "Are you sure? I mean i'm fine in this" you said teeth chattering and still shivering. "Yeah sure you are princess" he said scoffing and looking back at the road. "okay okay where is it?" you said climbing into the back, you had a skirt on and you ass was practically in his face when he looked in his rear view mirror. "well they dont call it a rear view mirror for nothing" he mumbled "its next to that pile of blankets on the floor" he said noticing a tightening in his jeans as he adjusted them a little to be more comfortable.
You wiggled your ass while looking for the shirt unaware of what you where doing to Eddie "where-Oh wait i found it!" you said picking up the shirt and looking at it. It was an old iron maiden tee-shirt, black unlike the one you had on, it matched your skirt perfectly. As you went to take off your shirt and change you had forgotten you had no bra on, so you did what any reasonable person would do .You put it on over your soaking wet tee-shirt and tried to take off your skin tight white turtleneck under the other tee-shirt. It went horribly, meanwhile Eddie had parked at Steve's house already and noticed that you where... struggling so he decided to offer you some help.
"Hey princess need some help?" he said as he crawled in next to you. "No i got it!" you said even though you defiantly did not have it. Your turtleneck had shrunk in the washer to begin with so it was already tight and now you had to take it off under another tee-shirt without accidentally flashing your best friend. "No you dont, just hold still let me help you" he said as he reached out to tug on the bottom of the iron maiden tee-shirt. As you where still trying to take off the sleeves you felt him grab your left sleeve and start pulling it. Afterwards he helped you with your right sleeve and then the hard part. You had done your hair and make up so nicely and didn't want to ruin it so you held your hands in front of your face as he pulled the neck up and over your head. "Sorry about your hair" he said trying to help smooth it down for you. "Its okay" You said smiling at him "Thank you".
As you walked up to Steve's front door he came out. "Jesus i was wondering where you guys have been, been waiting for you guys for like 20 minutes!". "Well were here now aren't we?" you said stomping into the house with a pissy tone. "Shes not happy that i messed up her hair" Eddie mumbled to Steve. "Oh messed up her hair now?" Steve said with a grin and wiggling his eyebrows at Eddie. "Not like that man come on" Eddie scoffed as he moved past Steve to follow you. Meanwhile you where in the kitchen with Nancy and Robin, talking about Nancy getting married. "Alright so now that everyone is here we can start the movie" Steve said grabbing the popcorn and drinks. "So what movie did you pick out for us this time big boy?" you said as you plopped yourself right in between him and Robin. "Risky Business" He said smirking over at you, god was it going to be a long night.
Eddie had sat down right next to Steve, Nancy and Johnathan had shared the love seat. Everything was going fine till the sex scene came on. You felt Steve's hand creep on your thigh but when you turned to look at him his eyes where glued to the TV, but Eddie's weren't. He was staring right back at you with heavy lids and his tongue licking his bottom lip. "Oh fuck were out of popcorn" Steve said "Ill make some more, you just stay right there" You said getting up and grabbing the bowl out of Steve's lap. As you walked to the kitchen you thought you herd someone behind you but when you looked back no one was there. Oh well you thought to yourself but as you rounded the corner Eddie was standing right there.
"How did you get in front of me?" you questioned him. "Oh you know i'm a ninja" he said jokingly. "Yeah right, you a ninja? Next to Robbin your the clumsiest person i know" you said as you put the popcorn bag in the microwave. You turned and leaned on the counter and stared at Eddie. "Why aren't you out there watching the movie with everyone else?" You said looking a bit confused. "Eh its not my favorite, plus ive already seen it so you know" he said leaning on the kitchen island across from you. "Yeah I dont know i mean i like it, plus tom cruise is hot" You say getting the popcorn out of the microwave and putting it into the bowl. "Oh yeah and why is that?" he says looking at you. "Because he has nice hair and nice hair turns me on" You said this time getting closer to his face then leaving.
When you returned to the living room Steve had moved closer to Robin so now there was only space next to him where Eddie was sitting. As you sat down Eddie had squeezed himself in right next to you, man spreading. You couldn't help but look down at his legs, you saw a bulge. You had herd stories about how big he was but you didn't realize that it was true. You forgot that you where staring then Eddie had caught on. "See something you like there princess?" he said whispering into your ear. you quickly looked up but it was already too late he knew. You tried to turn away but his hand came up to your jaw forcing you to look at him, you whimpered but only loud enough for him to hear. He bit his lip and looking into his dark pools of eyes you stared. but then you felt Steve's hand on your thigh again breaking your little staring contest with Eddie.
You looked over at Steve but this time he was looking back at you. He bit his lip a little then started to drag his hand up further, but just as you thought it couldn't get any better you felt another hand. It was Eddie's ,now you where stuck with both of your best friends hands on your thighs. Not waning to make things awkward you got up to use the bathroom. You stayed in there until you herd the ending credits come on. When you walked out Nancy and Johnathan where passed out and Robin was nodding off next to Steve. "Alright its time for bed i guess" Steve said as no body but Robbin said anything in response. "Hey do you have any shorts i can barrow this isn't very comfy to wear to bed" You said asking Steve. "Uh yeah up in my closet theirs some old gym shorts you can barrow" He said laying out blankets for everyone.
Steve was a nice friend he always had been, Ever since he sat next to you in biology class you two just clicked. You didn't like Tommy and Carol though, they where assholes to you always making fun of your hair or outfits or what ever else they could find. Your relationship with him wasn't always like this though, not until last spring when you and Steve had hooked up after prom because both of your dates ditched you. After that it got well...Weird, you started hanging out in groups because with the two of you it was just awkward. After school you'd make out with Billy in his car at lovers lake but never dared to go further than just over the clothes. You liked Billy but not that much, You had never slept with anyone until Steve so obviously you have a bit of a soft spot for him.
As you put on Steve's shorts and headed back downstairs you start to think about Eddie and how much you two have done together too. Never as much as you and Steve but you've shared a drunken kiss once or twice. As you got back to the living room you saw everyone lying on the floor and couches, trying to figure out where you should sleep you felt a hand on your shoulder. It was Eddie "You can sleep with me if you want, Ill keep you warm" He said smiling a little bit. "Okay" You said getting on your knees to lay down, You two where behind the couch which you thought was a bit odd but you didn't care too much.
As he laid down next to you, you covered yourself up with the blanket because you where cold, it was big enough for the two of you but only if you where extremely close. As you started to scoot backwards you noticed that Eddie had turned towards you and you where now rubbing against his very prominent hard on. You kept trying to get warm by rubbing up against him but you just ended up making your situation worse. He grabbed your hip with one hand to try and make you stay still but you where still trying to move. "Are you trying to kill me here?" He whispered into your ear as his breath hitched in his throat. "What no, why would i do that?" you said trying to change the subject. "You know why, You've been torturing me all day princess dont act like you dont know what your doing to me." He said almost sounding in pain. "I dont know what your talking about" you said trying to act innocent. "Oh really you dont know? I'm talking about this" He said as he started to grind into you. "All of this just because you where cold" He said as he stopped grinding. This was going to be one long night.

based on your asks responses & characterization of yuuta this is what i’ve gathered — yuuta is like that one high school senior who looked at the new coming freshman’s & just adopted them on the spot. there’s no out. now his friends sees the kid & adopted them too. it’s a family now. a very young, close in age family. (i was yuuta in this situation 😔 i was use to be megumi in this situation but i carried the tradition out. as i should. high school & middle school was wild.)
YUUJI THOUGH. we will probably never see him in your sea glass garden au but your asks is killing me. like his one sided beef with yuuta? he’s just like me fr. i too would fight over megumi if it comes down to it.
i just know yuuji thought that yuuta & megumi was a thing at first cause of the whole “his boy thing”. i know he screamed into a pillow about it. i know he went to gojo to ask for permission to court megumi & gojo was flabbergasted at such a medieval act so he had yuuji do the dumbest shit to get his blessing (ha).
i just know nanami is sighing at the idea of his son yuuji being a jealous little brat because of his other son yuuta. i just know yuuta was so confused until he witnessed yuuji & megumi awkward ass flirting. i know he acts like a little shit to get on yuuji (& sukuna) nerves.
you know what. this is my jujutsu kaisen. this is my sorcery fight. gege who? i only know you. PLS TAKE THE PEN FROM GEGE.
Yuuta is absolutely that senior who adopted that new student and made a little family. That is His Kohai now okay megumi is their collectively raised flour sack baby and they will kill for him.
Yuuji came back to life finally met the second years had just leveled up with his cursed energy and gained a new dad got his old friends back he was so so ready to go live his best life and then his new self appointed brother opened his mouth and started rhapsodizing about some impossibly beautiful and perfect man named okkotsu yuuta and yuuji is absolutely whacked in the face a la rubber squeaky hammer that there’s some gorgeous son of a bitch out there already living his best life.
His death sentence was overturned. He’s so powerful that he can save everyone if he wants. He is the legally adopted child of Nanami Kento. The curse attached to him 1) actually liked him and 2) moved the fuck on which some people (Sukuna) could take a few notes on.
Fushiguro Megumi is his boy.
This could not have devastated him more thoroughly. Even his newly acquired self appointed brother thinks okkotsu yuuta is the perfect man, which he manages to express at length in between warnings from the second years that Yuuta’s going to fly back from Africa purely for the sake of kicking his fucking ass for touching His Boy, which yuuji simply cannot handle.
Yuuji lowkey had a new lease on life and thought “hey! Fushiguro tried to kill someone with an elephant for me! Maybe I have a shot and he’ll let me hold his hand!” and then there’s god’s perfect man off in Africa who’s enticing megumi away from movie marathons with his fucking FaceTime calls right when yuujis almost hyped himself up enough to try the yawning arm stretch thing.
He spends at least three weeks trying to figure out if Megumi’s His Boy because they’re in a long distance relationship and it only ends because maki starts finding it more annoying than funny and establishes that it is not in fact a romantic arrangement. She thinks. (Okay it’s still kind of funny.)
Yuuji resorted to a terrible wikihow on how to get someone to date you and it insisted “get their parents approval” was his in and gojo could NOT have been more of an asshole about it. Nanami had to intervene to get it to stop. He is very tired and very confused. Why are you so upset about okkotsu he’s a lovely young man why is this making you more upset
Of course if yuuji ever found out that megumi became Yuuta’s boy after Yuuta personally restarted his heart he’d instantly understand why everyone acts like Yuuta’s the best thing since sliced bread. He is that amazing.
Yuuta and Megumi are completely oblivious to all of this.
Gege pls call me I just want to help gege pls
#sea glass gardens#just remember YOU can forcibly displace gege and turn the creative property over to me#I will be making several. SEVERAL. changes.#yuuji absolutely goes back into his room and screams into his pillow over Yuuta#he was going to try to hold Megumi’s hand and Megumi left to go talk to Yuuta just because he was ‘calling all the way from Africa’ and ‘the#movie ended five minutes ago why were you just sitting there looking like you were really stressed are you okay itadori’#nobara is exhausted just watching this#she’s the most homophobic lesbian alive why do lgbtq things happen to people who don’t deserve it#god she just wants a girlfriend with a sword and these fucking assholes are the ones who get their high school romance they don’t even#APPRECIATE the gay things happening to them#ignoring all canon since we’re never getting there in sea glass gardens#when Yuuta’s coming back from Africa Megumi’s very simply stating that Yuuta’s an important person in his life and he’s glad yuuji wjll#meet him soon which might as well be a DECLARATION OF UNDYING LOVE yuuji has a total crisis#yuuta gets off the plane and fucking hugs megumi yuuji had to get boyfriend privileges to do that who is this son of a bitch#gojo watching this: do you think I can get yuuji to wash my car again if I tell him I’ll distract Yuuta so he can take Megumi on a date#Nanami: why on earth would okkotsu need to be distracted for that to happen#gojo: that’s the beauty of it it is in no way necessary but yuuji doesn’t seem to know that

Turtle doves; Eddie Munson x reader
*Author’s note*
Okay in light of the fact that Christmas is just one week away (and that I missed both Halloween and thanksgiving fic ideas I could’ve done), I figured now was the time to do a Christmas theme fic for this beloved metalhead who stole my heart this year. At first I was gonna do a mistletoe one but I’ve been seeing a lot of them lately but after re-watching Home alone 2 and I saw the turtledoves I thought BINGO DING DING DING DING!
Not much warning except maybe some swearing, insecure Eddie and TONS AND TONS of fluff!!!

Up in Indianapolis, the city was bustling with excitement but also chaos because it was that time of the year again, Christmas time.  Hundreds among hundreds of people crammed into the stores to not only get the best deals, but also get the gift before their fellow man can.  The airports packed with families waiting for the arrival of extended family or friends.
“Eddie? Oi Eddie!” Dustin snapped Eddie out of his trance.  Eddie shook his head and looked down at his favorite (even if he thinks he’s a little shit at times) freshman member of his Hellfire club.
“What?”
“You were miles away. Thinking about (Y/n) again?” Dustin teased.  Eddie smacked the boy in the back of his head and said.
“You wish Henderson.”
“You are like bright red in the face right now.” Laughed Dustin.
“Shut your mouth Dustin. That’s your final warning.” But Dustin wasn’t wrong.  He was thinking about said girl, in fact he’s thought about her all year.
Ever since she took that study abroad program for her Animal Biology major in college, she hasn’t had much time to talk with Eddie. Letters were scarce and phone calls were even rarer.  And even though he was happy for her going all around the world studying wild animals, he wished that she wouldn’t be so far away from him all the time.
Eddie Munson and (Y/n) (L/n) had been friends since they met in the 6th grade when Eddie had his bike stolen by some asshole 8th grade jocks and (Y/n) threw sticks at them to get them to retreat. There she shared his first animal facts that chimps in the wild would throw sticks and stones at pythons to dive them away from their territory.
(Y/n) had always loved reading and learning about animals and she dreamed of one day venturing out into the world to study them and see how they behave up close.  That’s why Eddie always called her his venturous She-elf.
When she got to graduate in 84 and he didn’t, it didn’t deter their friendship.  Every weekend and holiday she visited him and would tell him all about how college has been treating her and what she’s learned that she hadn’t before.  But Eddie had been harboring a secret that not even she knew of.
Since the start of their high school years, Eddie had fallen in love with his adventurous Elf.  Not only for her looks but for her passion for what she wanted in life. Like him, she had a goal and she was reaching it, achieving it, and trying to own it.  She was indeed a darer but he feared that if he ever told her how he truly felt, he’d be holding her back.
Hell he couldn’t even graduate from High school, twice! What could he ever offer her?
“Eddie?” Dustin said trying to get his attention.  “You okay?”
“I’m fine. Just wondering what stories she has for us this year.”
“Oh yeah. I hope she brought home some cool souvenirs. Like this one time when her and her family went vacationing in Nepal and she got me this really cool face mask of an elephant. I still wear it to scare Lucas every now and then.”
“Thanks for the leverage Henderson to use against him next time he ditches us for his laundry baskets game.”
“You know I still can’t believe that you and (Y/n) know each other.”
“We do have lives outside of you Henderson, the world doesn’t always revolve around you yah know.” Soon their eyes caught sight of her plane landing and Eddie’s heart started to beat a little faster than normal. As quietly as he could, he took a deep breath before exhaling and they waited a few minutes as the passengers all began to depart the terminal gate.
Soon they spotted a young woman with (h/c) hair and prescription glasses on the bridge of her nose.  She rolled out with her carryon to see two boys holding up a sign that was decorated and spelled out: WELCOME HOME LADY TAURIEL, her D&D’s character name. She smiled and came up to them and first embraced Eddie.
“Well this is a surprise, I thought I’d have to get a cab to your trailer.”
“What and leave you in this craziness by yourself? Absolutely not.” Eddie said as they parted but they both kept their arms around each other just a little bit longer.  Dustin began to notice not only the lingering embrace they were doing, but also the look in both their eyes as they looked at each other.
“So what am I (Y/n)? Chopped liver?” asked Dustin.  The two young adults separated from each other and (Y/n) shook her head.
“You would think all the times I spent babysitting you would mellow you out Henderson, but you’ve gotten an even bigger ego than when I left.” She said.
“It’s his tone right?” Eddie asked her.  Dustin grumbled as he crossed his arms.  (Y/n) shook her head laughing as she walked over to Dustin and embraced him before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“Eww! You know I hate it when you do that!”
“Whatever you little shit. Now let’s get the rest of my bags and back home. Being on a plane for over 24hrs is not as enjoyable as it sounds.”
“Right this way then, Lady Tauriel.” Eddie said with a gracious bow.  They went over to the baggage claim, gathered up all her bags and then headed on out to Eddie’s van to drive back to Hawkins.
It was a bit of a drive thanks to the traffic and the snow starting to fall, but they managed to reach Hawkins safe and sound.  After dropping Dustin back at his place, Eddie and (Y/n) finally arrived at his place.
“You sure it’s okay for me to stay here? Mrs. Henderson offered me one of the spare rooms over at their place.”
“As sweet as the old lady is, how could I live with myself knowing you’d be stuck with Henderson 24/7. Plus I know you do have something for him that he says he’s been dying to see.”
“True. It’s just….I don’t want to run you out of house and home.”
“You aren’t. Besides Wayne’s been asking about you, I swear he loves you more than he does me.”
“Shut up Munson, Wayne loves you with all his heart.”
“Yeah I know. Well let’s get inside before the snow really starts piling up. Weather man’s been saying it’ll be the heaviest snowfall in 10 years.”
“Even though I’ve grown up with Indiana weather, it’s nothing compared to Nepal, or Tibet, or even Antarctica ugh. Never will I go down there again, even if I wanna see the cute penguins. I’ll take the ones in South Africa.”
“There aren’t any penguins in Africa!” Eddie objected as he grabbed one of her suitcases as they both exited the car.
“There are too and I’ve got the pictures to prove it.”
“You do not.”
“I do so!” the two of them continued their playful banter as they unloaded the van and placed all her things in Eddie’s room.  “I’ve noticed you guys decided to do some indoor decorating this year.”
“Yeah. Wayne’s come into some really good money lately, and with some of the paid gigs the band and I have done, we decided why the hell not?”
“So it would seem my own personal Grinch finally found the Christmas spirit again ehh?” she teased as she poked his belly making him curl inward.
“I never lost it!”
“Mm-hmm.” She hummed skeptically.
“That’s it! C’mere!” he lunged at her, the two of them falling onto his bed and he proceeded to tickle her sides making her thrash around in laughter.  “You know I think I finally know where Henderson got his sass from. After all, you’ve known him longer than either Harrington or me. We have you to blame for his behavior.”
“Nohohoht mehehehe!”
“Yes you! Now admit it or the tickling continues.”
“I don’t…..stohahap! Please!”
“Nope. The begging and puppy dog eyes won’t work on me this time.” As (Y/n) continued laughing, a voice soon called out.
“Eddie? You better not be killing someone in there boy.” Eddie was forced to stop as his uncle had arrived home earlier than normal.  He got off of (Y/n) and said in a low, menacing yet playful tone,
“Saved by the old man. But don’t think you’re getting out of this just yet missy.” (Y/n) shoved him back to the bed and Eddie let her do it as she went out and said.
“Sorry Wayne. But if I had to be killed, death by tickles wouldn’t be too bad of a way to go.”
“Well as I live and breathe. Ms. (Y/n) (l/n) back from her time around the world.” (Y/n) smiled and walked over and asked Wayne.
“Permission to hug?”
“Permission granted ma’am.” The two of them embraced each other and after awhile he let her go.  “Bout time you got here, Eddie wouldn’t shut up about how many days left till you arrived.”
“Wayne!” Eddie groaned from his bedroom door. “Why are you home so early? Usually you don’t get off this early unless it’s a holiday and Christmas eve is 2 days away.”
“The weather son. Boss decided it’d be best for us to all head home so that we wouldn’t get snowed in.”
“Well that was nice of him. Oh speaking of which, I have a surprise for you Wayne.” (Y/n) said as she raced back into the bedroom and grabbed both her scrapbook and a neatly wrapped present.  “I was almost worried I wouldn’t be able to give this to you, or see your reaction when you’d open it.”
“Ain’t we supposed to open presents on Christmas though?” he asked her.
“Normally yes but this really isn’t a Christmas present. I saw it when I was in Tanzania and I thought one person had to have it.” Wayne took the box and unwrapped it before opening it up to reveal a beautifully hand-crafted and painted bowl.
The background was painted like the African sunrise with Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background and up front and center was a large African rhino (his favorite animal).
“I know it’s not a mug but it was the closest thing I could find to a cup.”
“Don’t go saying things like that, I love it. Thank you sweetie belle.” He wrapped an arm around her bringing her in for a one armed hug.
“Don’t I get a present too (Y/n)?” asked Eddie.
“Yes but you have to wait until the Christmas eve party at Steve’s. It is still happening there, right?”
“Yeah. You know Harrington.”
“Now go easy on that boy Eddie, sure he may have started off as a jerk to yah but you two really have become good friends thanks to that kid of yours.” Eddie waved it off before going to the kitchen to find himself something to eat.  “So darling, what do you think of the decorations we got up?”
“I love it. I especially like the light up penguins over there by the tree.” She said pointing to the small decorated Christmas tree and by the nightstand stood a lit up penguin lamp.
“Eddie said you’d like it. In fact this was all his idea to begin with that we’d decorate the place special for you.”
“Oi Wayne! Since you’re here how’s about you cook dinner for once instead of having to do fend for yourself night!?” Eddie shouted trying to change the topic.  Wayne rolled his eyes getting the hint of what his nephew’s behavior meant while (Y/n) was left perplexed.
Did—did Eddie feel the same way as she did? Did she hear that right? Or is this just Eddie being Eddie? One thing’s for sure, she was gonna try and tough it out and admit her feelings for her best friend at the Christmas eve party and hope she doesn’t humiliate herself doing it.
Two days later and after clearing up the roads after the snow storm they had when she first arrived, the gang was all gathered at Steve’s place for the party.  Now this party was extra special to the group because throughout the entire party, each guest would present a tradition that was done with their families on Christmas day.
As per Robin’s family tradition, everyone had to come in wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater they could find.  And the first activity was Christmas musical chairs as per Wheeler tradition.  Mike decided to be the DJ and as Chuck Berry’s ‘Run Rudolph Run’ played over the speakers the rest of the gang began to circle around the chairs, and the first one to be out was Steve.
“Wait hold on that’s not fair! Munson kept stopping!”
“Just take the loss with pride Harrington.” Eddie told him. Steve rolled his eyes but took one of the chairs after everyone stood back up and the game resumed.  One by one the rest soon began to fall until the final three came down to Dustin, Eddie and (Y/n).
“Remember, third place gets this giant Hershey’s bar.” Nancy said holding out the fairly large chocolate bar.  A decent prize but it’s nothing compared to the giant family/party size M&M bag that was up for first prize.
The music started up and all three of the remaining players began to fake the other out by either pausing in front of the chairs before moving again, or trying to sit in the chairs while the music was still playing before moving on again.  The song stopped and Eddie and (Y/n) ended up being the final two.
“Aww nice try Dustin but you still get the chocolate bar.” Nancy said.
“That’s fine.” Dustin said taking (Y/n)’s chair away and as Eddie and (Y/n) stood over the final chair, they stared each other down.
“That bag of M&M’s is mine Munson.” Boasted (Y/n).
“Don’t make me laugh (L/n). You know I kill for m&m’s. The only thing you’ll be getting is the three musketeers packet.”
“Alright enough flirting you two, get to walking!” Mike groaned as he started the music back up and the two friends began to battle it out for the chair.  Once again the pair would stop in front of the chair trying to delay the other before racing around it, taunting the other to distract them from the song, until finally the song stopped and after a squabble that lasted for what felt like a minute, (Y/n) won the pot!
“Yes! Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! Ha! In your face Munson I won the pot haha!” (Y/n) rejoiced as she claimed her prize, a full year supply of M&M’s while Eddie was given the three musketeers bag. Even with his wounded pride, he accepted the prize and was happy that his girl got the big prize.
The traditions continued with watching ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ and ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’ (Sinclair tradition), playing a few Christmas songs (the Munson tradition), and acting out a chapter or two from ‘A Christmas Carol’ (a Henderson tradition).  Next up was (Y/n)’s family tradition, ‘Santa Exchange’ as the gift opening was about to happen.
“Okay let’s see. This here is for Robin.” She said holding up a beautifully wrapped gold and red box with a red bow.  Robin took her present as (Y/n) grabbed the next one when another hand reached up and grabbed a snowman packaged present bag.  She looked up to see Eddie and he said,
“Figure Santa needs a little helper?”
“Santa appreciates it, thank you.” Soon the two of them worked together passing out all the presents to everyone until they were all set up in their own areas throughout the living room.  “Okay so every year my family mixes up the order in how we each open up our presents so this year I say we go from oldest to youngest. Sound good with everyone?”
“Yep. Yeah.” Everyone answered.
“Alright, but before we start that, I want everyone to take my gift to you and open it. It’s all the same thing that I had done when I was in Japan.” Everyone went through their gifts until they found (Y/n)’s gifts and they all began opening them.
When everyone opened their gifts, it was revealed to be a traditional, authentic Japanese painting of her friends.  Not only were they in the picture, but next to them was an animal she felt like was their spirit animal.
Nancy had an crane on her picture, Steve had a dog specifically the Japanese breed Akita, Dustin had a tiger, Robin had a white cat, Lucas had a phoenix, Mike was a koi fish, and Eddie had the traditional Japanese dragon.
“I found a traditional Japanese artist and in the span of the 4 months I was there with my team filming the Japanese Alps, I asked him to do this for you guys.”
“Wow (Y/n) this is—incredible.” Robin said admiring her painting.
“Easy for you to say, I’ll bet none of you are a fish.” Mike whined to which Nancy hit her brother in the arm making him exclaim in pain.
“It’s wonderful (Y/n), thank you.” Everyone else soon thanked her for her gift and she smiled as she sat back down at her area next to Eddie.
“Now that that’s out of the way, Eddie why don’t you start us off?”
“Yes!” Eddie softly cheered as he grabbed the first gift he spotted which was from Dustin.  He opened it to reveal the new Led Zeppelin cassette.  “Ha-ha! I knew you’d come through for me Henderson!”
“You’ve only been talking about it since Halloween. But I knew you’d like it, Merry Christmas Eddie.” Eddie continued to open up his gifts and he got some more cassette tapes, some new pins for his jacket, a new red flannel, and the new D&D manual book that had recently came out.
Up next was (Y/n).  She opened the first gift that was from Steve and Robin.  She unwrapped the paper before looking at the box to reveal what exactly it was before opening it.
“Oh my god, you guys.” It was the new Panasonic VHS camcorder.
“We figure you might wanna record some of your trips instead of just taking pictures. 3 hours of film this thing can do.” Steve said.
“This must’ve costed you guys a fortune. And I knew Keith don’t pay you much.”
“Worth every penny. Besides I expect some videos of tigers with that camera next time you go to India.” Robin said pointing at her.
“Alright, it’s a deal. Thanks you guys.” Seeing that camcorder made Eddie sick to his stomach.  He wasn’t rich nor did he have enough money to buy her expensive gifts, all he had was his small little surprise that he had made for her.  But he began to second guess himself, would she even like it? His stomach continued to turn in knots as she grabbed the next gift which was a new scrapbook from Nancy.
“Figured your old one was getting full so I figured it’s time for a new one. There’s also some little stencils in there so you can decorate it as you wish.” She told her.
“Aww I love it, thanks Nancy. Okay whose next?” she hovered her hand around the remaining gifts until she picked up Dustin’s.  “Henderson’s next.” She unstapled the bag and pulled out the green paper stuffed inside and pulled out a journal that read across the cover (Y/N)’s ENCYCLOPEDIA.
“My encyclopedia?” she asked him.
“Thought it would be cool to get real animal biology from a real animal biologist. Someone who actually knows the facts and doesn’t keep editing it, I swear you’re smarter than any science book that talks about animals and how they behave and operate.”
“Is this some excuse to help you with future science homework?” she teased.
“What? No, no! No way! I just wish for you to write down what all you know and what you didn’t know before about all the animals you help document and study.”
“Well that’s sweet of you Dustin, thank you. Okay Michael, you’re up next.”
“Why must you insist on calling me that?”
“Cause I know it embarrasses you. And as your former babysitter it’s my job to embarrass you.” She opened up his gift and it was a small animal calendar.  “Alright! Now I’ll be able to see what day it is. I swear those guys don’t carry calendars with them like at all. They tally the days like cavemen in their journals. Thanks Mike, really I appreciate it.”
She then went for Lucas’ present and he got her a mini-figurine that his sister made of her character Lady Tauriel.
“Now Erica would claim she made it all herself but I was the one that bought the figurine in the first place and I told her your description of her. She painted it and that’s all.”
“It’s a team Sinclair effort and I love it. Tell your sister when you see her thank you too.” She placed her D&D character back in the container before saying. “And last but not least, Eddie—” but as she reached out for it, Eddie snatched his gift back and pocketed into his leather jacket.
“Dude what the hell? You can’t just take back your gift.” Steve said.
“Shut up Harrington!”
“Eddie what’s wrong? I want to see what you got me.” She asked him.
“No you don’t. it’s not even ready.”
“Why would you give her an incomplete gift?” Mike asked.
“Hey Mike cool it, I’m sure Eddie has a good reason. Final exams were a bitch this year so I can see why he wouldn’t have time to finish his gift.” Dustin said trying to get Mike off Eddie’s back.
“It’s nothing like that Henderson, and I can defend myself thank you very much!” but his tone was harsh.
“Geez Eddie no need to snap. I know Dustin can be a bit much but there’s no need to go that far.” Said Robin.
“Will you guys just leave me alone alright!? God this is why I hate Christmas! Everyone making a deal about presents that just end up in the trash a couple weeks if not the day after Christmas!” he soon stormed out of the room and the house echoed a loud slam from the front door.
“I’ll go talk to him.” (Y/n) said as she got up and followed after him.  After putting on her coat, boots and gloves, she followed Eddie who was leaning against his van smoking with a furrowed brow.  “You’ll catch your death of cold if you stay out here like that.”
“I’m fine. Never bothered me anyway.”
“You may have everyone convinced that you’re this stone, cold metalhead but not to me. Sure you’re a metalhead but you’re not stone cold.”
“Well you wouldn’t know considering you haven’t even been here for over a year and a half!” he snapped.  It shocked (Y/n) to hear Eddie snap at her like that but as soon as he looked at her shocked expression, he sighed heavily and stomped out his cigarette.  “I’m sorry I shouldn’t have shouted.”
“I know.” She walked up to him and took his hand between hers, not only in comfort but to warm them up.  “You wanna tell me what’s really going on in that squirrel brain of yours?”
“I don’t have a squirrel brain.”
“Yes you do. You always have a million things going through your head, and its twice as intense when you’re stressed or upset about something. So c’mon tell me. We’ve always been able to tell each other everything.” Eddie looked into her soft, gentle (e/c) and he felt his heart melt but also grow heavy into his stomach.
“Everyone else got you such amazing gifts. Gifts that’ll either help your future career or that you can personalize. Hell the Sinclair’s made your D&D character come to life, and all I got you was……this.” He took out his gift which was just a plain old small white box with a golden ribbon tied to it.
He couldn’t even look her in the eyes as he held it out to her. Once he felt her take it from his hand, he crossed his arms over his chest as his breathing grew sharper and heavier and she could see just how fast it was from the cold breath that escaped his lips and danced into the air.
She looked down at the plain white box and untied the ribbon before opening it to reveal inside two chain necklaces and attached to them were what appeared to be hand-carved wooden turtle doves.  Or that’s what they seemed to be, it was a bit mish-mashed but even with the faults in the sculpting, she knew it must’ve taken Eddie a long time to do these twice.
“They’re supposed to be turtle doves. I know they look shitty, the woodshop instructor couldn’t teach me for shit and the chain is nothing special. Just from some old chain necklaces Wayne doesn’t wear anymore so I got rid of what was on those and he helped me attach the birds to the chain.”
Tears formed in her eyes as she pulled the necklaces out of the box and held them in her palm.  She looked up at Eddie and immediately embraced him tightly, burying her face into his shoulder blades.
“What?”
“Eddie,” she released him so she could come around and cup his face which was already turning red from the cold, and even his nose was starting to go a bit red.  “This, this is the sweetest, most thoughtful gift anyone has ever given me.”
“Really?” he asked insecurely.
“Really, really. And knowing that you did your best, I don’t care if the turtledoves look perfectly hand sculpted or like a woodchipper went to town on them.” They both softly laughed.  “But there is something that is wrong with this gift.” At hearing that statement, Eddie’s brief moment of happiness once again turned back to fear. He felt her take his left hand and she placed one of the turtle dove necklaces into his palm before closing it up. “You need to keep one, so that way we each have one, and that we’ll always come back to each other.”
“Each other?” he asked her.  She nodded as she slowly got closer to him whispering.
“Together forever, meleth nin.” She then took her chance and kissed her best friend/secret crush.  When she felt him tense, she feared that maybe the kiss was too much and began to pull away but it wasn’t until she felt Eddie’s arms wrap around her waist pulling her close and even lifting her up.
She was stunned but wrapped her arms tighter around Eddie’s shoulders as their kiss slowly deepened until he set her down and they separated for air.
“My Christmas wish came true this year.” She whispered lovingly.
“Agreed. I’ve only dreamed of this a thousand times since middle school. Merry Christmas Lady Tauriel.”
“Merry Christmas Lord Beren.” They smiled at each other lovingly before they hugged each other so tightly it was like their bones would pop, before they looked at each other with their noses brushing against each other’s and their lips met in another sweet kiss.
“ABOUT DAMN TIME!! I’VE BEEN SEEING YOU MAKE GOO-GOO EYES AT EACH OTHER SINCE SHE GOT HERE!!” Dustin’s voice exclaimed in the night air. Eddie rolled his eyes before bending down and grabbed a big chunk of snow and quickly raced towards Dustin.
He let out a scream before racing back inside with Eddie at his heels holding the snow patch in his hands.
“No! NO don’t you dare stuff that down my back!”
“Get over here Henderson!”
“HEY NO SNOW TRAILS IN MY HOUSE GUYS!!” (Y/n) shook her head as she went back inside and closed the door as the chaos continued with Dustin exclaiming and trying to get the snow out of his back, Steve trying to mop up the wet patch of water from said snow that had been dropped on his good carpet, and Eddie and (Y/n) sitting close to each other exchanging kisses every now and again.

“Hey! Look a sorority house!” Mickey points out.
“We should hello.” Javy suggests.
“We absolutely-“ Jake jumps in to agree but Nat and Locklyn interrupt him.
“Should not!”
“Keep driving.” Locklyn orders.
“We at least gotta invite a few to our party tonight.” Jake says as Coyote pulls into the parking lot of the school dorms.
“Why don’t you just shout it for everyone instead of being creeps and flirting with every girl?” Locklyn rolls her eyes.
“Oh come on!” Javy groans.
“Don’t start that again, Locks.” Jake groans.
“Start what?” Bradley questions.
“Don’t worry about it.” Nat, Javy, Jake and Locklyn all say.
“Can we get on with this? I’m gonna need that drink sooner than planned.” Locklyn groans, leaning her head back into the seat.
“Yea, yea we’re going.” Javy pulls around the parking lot and drives off to one of the many bars in town.
“Hey there’s the drinks!” Jake cheers as Javy returns with two pitches of beer.
Tumblr media
“Pour it out, Machado! Mama needs to not remember anything.” Locklyn slides her glass towards him.
“Damn, what got your panties in a twist?” Jake laughs. Locklyn turns and glares at Jake. “Alright, come here.” Jake tugs her away from the group. “What is your deal?”
“My deal?”
“Yes, Locks. Your deal. You’ve been in a mood since we mentioned inviting those girls to a party.”
“Maybe it’s because I don’t wanna hear my boyfriend talking about flirting with other girls!” Locklyn nearly shouts at him.
“Sweetheart, you do this every year! You agreed to this arrangement!”
“Maybe I don’t wanna do this anymore!” She says. “Did you think about that?” Locklyn sighs. “Maybe I just wanted to spend my senior year with the only guy I actually care about.”
“You agreed, Locks. First day of freshman year to graduation.” Jake explains. “You made the exception of summer and winter break when we’re back home.”
“Well it was a stupid agreement.” She says before returning to the table and downing her beer. “I’m heading back to the houses to prepare for the team meeting.” She storms off out of the bar and calls a cab.
“What’s her deal?” Mickey and Bradley question.
“None of your business!” Jake almost growls, drinking his beer.
Tumblr media
“If you haven’t met yet, I’d like to introduce you to the new guys. Mickey Garcia, Catcher. Neil Vikander, outfielder. Bradley Bradshaw and Robert Floyd, pitchers. We also got two transfers, Billy Avalone and Bringham Lennox. They’re wild cards so they can cover anyone.” Coach announced at the beginning of the team meeting later that evening. “Of course you boys would have nothing if it weren’t for our lovely team managers, Locklyn James and Natasha Trace.” Coach points to the 2 girls standing beside him. “They’re gonna be living here too, one in each house. Making sure you boys follow the rules. Don’t piss them off cause they can bench you and they will. Don’t test their patience, it’s thinner than mine.”
“Now listen! The city was generous enough to donate these houses to help us with the overcrowding in the athletics dorms and we’ve agreed to be responsible for them. So two rules! No alcohol in the houses, that’s not just our rule, that's the school’s policy. Now we can’t stop you from going out and having a couple drinks just nothing in the house. Number two, no girls upstairs in those bedrooms.”
Everyone jumps up to protest but Locklyn and Nat throw simple glares which makes the juniors and seniors sit down. Sophomores and Freshman follow suit.
“I’m sorry, but you’ll just have to take her back to her place or you can spend all of your time downstairs. Plenty of room for socializing so if you gotta bring some little gal back to the house, you keep her buns downstairs.” Most of the guys start laughing as the coach continues. “Voluntary practice is on Sunday, players only. Rule book says I can’t be on the field with ya so I’ll see y’all on Monday.”
“Thanks Coach.” Jake claps walking to the front of the living room audience. “Alright freshman, in case you didn’t know, voluntary means mandatory. If your not there then you probably don’t care about beating those fuckers from Arizona and if you don’t care about that then you might as well go home.”
“We’re taking it this year fellas!” Javy announces. “All the way!” Everyone starts cheering as the coach leaves. “Alright gentlemen! We have a party to prep for!”

Alt+Shift=Sburb redo???
hi. so i had an mspfa thing called Alt+Shift=Sburb! (yes spelled like that)
and it... well it's not the best in terms of visual or story quality- specifically in that the visuals were mostly base edits and hodge-podged school laptop trackpad art and the writing was not that special.
And then I ended it out of nowhere i believe 2 years later after only like what, 50 pages? and started a new one that I intend to still run also called NEW_GAME.sburb (yes spelled like that)
I'm much better skilled I thinks so I've decided to do a thing!
I'm gonna (re)create the panels and fully redo the story. Make it better now that I know how to at least make something sophomoric instead of freshman-y (not a word).
And also I'm redoing concepts for the story that have NOT EVEN been hinted at slightly within either story.
anyway here's some characters. They won't appear again for a while but trust me when I say remaking them is vital to remaking the rest of the whole shebang (i always think of that spider from LotR whenever I say "shebang". Shelob my beloved 🕷️)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(classpects subject to change) Now that I'm able to make things on my own with minimal-to-zilch bases or borrowed assets (besides like. jpegs and stuff for posters. those don't count), I too can be a Cool Kid.
Another tithe to pay in the meantime is this: MUSIC.
I CAN MAKE MUSIC. AND ALSO WITHIN THE PAST FEW DAYS I'VE SPONTANEOUSLY LEARNED HOW TO MAKE PROPER COMPOSITIONS AND SHIT. IT'S WILD SO I'VE BEEN MAKING THEMES FOR THE REWORKED TROLLS BASED ON THEIR CANON COUNTERPARTS' THEMES. Take a fuckin' sip, babe. ⏬
Alright you rowdy-dowdy (also not a word) kids and kidn'ts- Enjoy these while I do my magic (read: struggle but like... in a slay way)
EXTRA: Go read TITLE: <NULL>. NOW. It's made by Tost, the person who wrote the dialogue for the second episode of my demonstuck AU!
She's got stellar writing skills so you better enjoy those, too.
Miki, signing off~

!!! Song of the Summer !!! On a Journey by Theresa Ambat (I’m in love with the vocals, I’m in love with the instrumentation, I’m in love with the production, I’m in love with the themes and lyrics, and that Night Vale episode’s weather (222 (which is my birthday which is kinda wild)) was so unbelievably timely for this mental space that I’m in right now (bonus: You Sure Are Something by Theresa Ambat has also been a favorite these past couple of weeks, got me kickin my legs like a romantic fr))
Rules for a good gelato place (as I learned from the best):
must not be piled high like a mountain in the tin!!!  that means there’s air in it.  the person must scoop downward into the gelato tin where the gelato is level or below the rim
several flavors available!!!  this probably means they know their stuff and aren’t just some random sweets place that decided one day to sell four or five flavors of gelato to attract a few more customers
non dairy in the fruit flavors!!!  fruit flavors should have no milk, just ask if they do and walk out if the person behind the counter admits to the crime
mostly muted colors!!! pistachio should be greenish-brown, not bright green.  brighter colors means they’ve likely added coloring artificially (though some of the fruit flavors like berry and mango tend to be brighter)
You know, I’ve never really put thought into decorating a room before.  Like, in both my childhood homes, I had purple walls but nothing hung on them.  I mean I have a dresser-vanity and some whiteboards, and I used to have a fishtank and for a short time some butterflies pasted around the place, but literally no decor of my own choosing.  When I moved into my dorm freshman year, I got some canvas prints from amazon and went with a gray/mint theme, and it was cute and pretty and looked like a lot of the other dorm pictures I’d seen online, but it wasn’t really me, if you know what I mean.  I remember a few months (a year?) into living in my apartment when I put up my red starfleet academy banner and stared at it for an hour in awe of how amazing it made me feel.  It remained my only piece of decoration for the entirety of the time I lived there.  I don’t want live like that in my next place, but I do want to expound on that energy.
I have ~ideas~ both for common and personal spaces.  In common spaces, I know I want to have a fake bouquet on the table.  Maybe switching them out occasionally.  In my room, I think I want to go for a very specific theme: “starfleet ensign whose ship crashed on a presently uninhabited class-m planet several years prior and whose crew has been living off the land and uncovering the buried civilization that existed there eons before they were marooned” or “Explorer Vibes plus my star trek banner lol”.  I just.. Rachel Maksy said in a video once that she likes to tell stories with her outfits, and I sort of want to try that with my room.  I really love the “mosscore” and academic looks, with scientific drawings on aged paper, maps, vines and wisteria, knicknacks.. but I kind of want to make it my own, where if someone were to look closely they’d see all the treky things and it’d just be a little whimsical, like me.  I just want to make my room into a space that I love.
Oh my god wait it’s space academia is what it is.
Anyway I’ve started filling up a new pinterest board and while it’s a bit of a mess I’m kind of in love with it.  Now, as I’ve been going through this thought exercise, I get this pervasive thought about how there’s no permanent sense of self and for that reason it’s foolish to try to chase the whims of my own style which may change with the next passing fad.  But.  I look back on the years when I was obsessed with my galaxy jeans, and I’m happy for that Nina, even if she’s not me anymore.  And I think maintaining that outlook is better than expecting to shame my current self in the future for doing something that’s with or against the grain.  So as someone with not much money, I think I’m going to look into getting furniture pieces that are stylistically modular, at first, which I could add a covering to (or make a covering for?  hm..) to match my most recent whim.  Like getting a black saucer chair but crocheting a green granny square blanket to cover it, like otherworldly moss (to fit in with the ~bedroom story~).
So last thing, I’ve been on a bit of a mild movie binge these past few days.  Shazam 1 and 2 were alright, nothing too terribly innovative for the genre, but I really did love the diversity all around.  Airplane 1 and 2 were literally hilarious.  I don’t know what kind of genre it is exactly, but they made me laugh and giggle aloud so many times, I mean the wordplay and physical humor were golden.  Superman: Red Son was an unexpectedly good WB DC Animated Movie.  It interesting all the way through, Travis Willingham made an appearance, the animation style/character design was good... honestly it had the intrigue and impactful climax I was looking for but found lacking in the Injustice: Gods Among Us movie.  Now, I fully recognize that there was a pretty pro-American lean to it disguised under those pro-communism plot points, but I’ll let it slide.
Today I’m thankful for graduation gifts.

Bonus Day
Really, this is an entry for two days because I have to start with graduation yesterday morning. It was the wildest weather we’ve ever had- sunny, rainy, hot, cold, breezy, flat, all in the span of about two hours. But I think it was rather fitting for this wild, unique class.
And it was a terrific ceremony. The students who spoke (valedictorian, salutatorian, student body president) were all excellent. It was a special graduation for The Principal, as well, because it’s the class he came in with (his first year as principal was their freshman year) and it’s his daughter’s class. She provided the best moment of the ceremony by giving him a flying hug after getting her diploma.
After the graduates processed out, Mrs. T, Mr. W (who joined us even though he’s no longer teaching because this was his last class), and I said goodbyes to our former students, gave lots of hugs, took pictures. And I, a West Pointers kid, told one of my APGOV graduates who is headed to the Naval Academy, “Go Navy, Beat Army” for the only time in my life, haha.
Mrs. T, Mr. W, and I all went out for lunch, split a bunch of apps at our favorite restaurant as is out tradition, and then Mr. W and I changed into casual clothes and returned to the high school to join Mr. M (Mr. N was supposed to come, too, but he got a stomach bug) and several parents as chaperons for Project Grad.
Now, in past years, our Project Grad trips have been super-secret, multi-stop adventures. This one was still super-secret, but totally unique. We went waaaaay up in Maine to this camp with a bunch of clamping cabins. There was a huge tent set up where we all had dinner (pizza, fries, chicken fingers, salad, cake...), and there were fields to run around a play sports, but also laser tag, a few giant inflatables, a virtual rollercoaster, and a fire pit for roasting s’mores. A hilarious magic show was followed by fireworks, and a dance with a DJ.
We all went to bed sometime after midnight, then got up early to eat breakfast and go whitewater rafting on the Kennebec River (mostly category 2 and 3 rapids, one category 4). Now, I’d never been whitewater rafting before, and neither had a lot of the kids, so there was a ton of nervous excitement. And, wow, it was SO FUN. The weather was stunning, the scenery was gorgeous, and the rapids- while sometimes scary- were a blast to conquer. The last half hour was a pretty calm paddle, people could actually get out of the rafts and swim, good stuff.
We returned to our base camp, had a delicious lunch, hung out a while and then came home! The graduates were all super happy, and gave a big cheer for the parents who’d planned the trip, the bus drivers who took us to Maine and back, and for a great adventure.
And that’s it. The Class of 2023 is moving on!

4. Plain White T's - Hey There, Delilah
It's 2:23AM and I'm pacing through my father's living room, phone in hand, my eyes bleary. In less than a month, I'll be off to University, where I'll discover how easy it is to stay up for days on end when motivated by caffeine and the rhythm of youth, but for now, I'm nearing my limit. I feel a psychic pull from the room on the right at the end of the hallway wherein lieth my bed with bated breath, brimming with dreams at the thought of my return to it. The tug towards it is terrible, and soon my murky mind turns me to follow it.
buzz
A cartoon ghost rings the doorbell to my phone. I blind myself by blue light to see that yes, it is her. Specifically, it's her hand in a peace sign and a bar of text saying, "He'll probably just text back tomorrow. I'm sleepy. Goodnight." I send black screen with a cursive "Good Night Calypso," which she opens immediately. That empty red arrow sends a shiver up my arm and a realize that sleep won't be so easy a thing tonight.
______________________________________________________________
According to various articles and my personal brand of hearsay, Tom Higgenson wrote "Hey There Delilah" after having a meet-not-so-cute with Delilah DiCrescenzo, a now-nationally-ranked runner, at a friend's party. Apparently, Tom told her he already had a song written about her, and played the track for her the week thereafter. Delilah, having a boyfriend, politely declined his advances. The two remained friendly enough that, when "Hey There Delilah" was nominated for a Grammy in 2007, Delilah herself put in an appearance on Tom's invitation. To my knowledge, their association ends there.
______________________________________________________________
I met her at the tail end of orientation. She was sitting on a rock outside the student union building. She wore bell-bottoms and a hippie T--at least, she does in my head. So many details slip like sand through my fingers and out of my ears, details I I could have sworn would be burned into my mind forever. It is, perhaps, my chiefest regret to not remember fully the scenes that shape the landscape where my soul treads.
I almost walked past her. She had been in the small group of Liberal Arts students in a computer lab ten minutes previous, and something in the way she spoke to the admissions counselor about her planned courses irked me. Unfortunately, I think that's why I found myself talking to her. She scared me, otherwise: she looked like she could look me in the eye and pick out my flaws like a stork plucks salmon from a river. That little touch of roughness at her edges unwound a binding in my brain and let me be bold in a way only fool boys can be--that is, in the smallest way. I said, "Hello."
For the rest of the summer, we carried on the conversation that we started at the rock. I called her Calypso. I'd steal moments during work to shoot off what I hoped was a clever quip; she'd send pictures of her shoes and make wild statements about her day. We'd skip from "how was your shift?" to "what makes you cry?" to "what's you're comfort food?" in about as many texts. I still remember some of her answers, though I expect they've changed since then. Mine have.
Often, we'd stay up late texting. She's an early riser, but her boyfriend at the time rarely responded in daylight hours. I tried to keep her company while she waited, and she didn't turn me away. She considered us friends, and did for a long while, even after our Freshman year started, even after she got to know me in person, even after I told her--via Snapchat video messages, the worst way known to man--that I'd been head-over-heels for her since that damn rock outside the union, even after she had to turn me down. She even managed to look past me asking her to turn me down again twice thereafter, as a reminder of where we stood.
I don't know if we were friends. I don't know if I'm capable of being friends with someone I can't look at without my heart rate rising ten percent. It's not for lack of trying: I gave it a three year run. If I was her friend, I think I'd have let myself drift away much earlier. That might have saved me some heartache, or at least some face. It might have saved our mutuals exasperation, and her the stress of dealing a dumb puppy of a man who lacks the courage and wit to make his exit when the music plays.
I last spoke to her in the Fall of 2022. We walked in the state lands with her dog and said a great many things that matter very little. A better send-off than I expected, honestly. I last saw her Fall 2023; she and her fiance attended the same showing of a stage play as I--a cruel joke by Dionysus on his least faithful priest. I can only hope she didn't see me, or if she did, she didn't recognize me. If she saw me, I hope she only saw a stranger trying not to cry.

Friendship Will Make or Break Your Life
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By Justin Whitmel Earley I often think about the beginning of the world. You may think that’s a bit strange, but I think you should try it. It goes like this: One day God is being quintessential God, making things from nothing, and he’s doing it with his covenant friends—the Son and the Holy Spirit. To imagine it right, you have got to see that they all think this whole creation thing is a spectacularly grand idea. It won’t be without hiccups, they know, but they are providentially confident it will turn out to be a smashing success. Picture it all for a moment: What it looks like for light to separate from darkness for the first time. The crash of an unfathomably large number of cubic gallons of water sloshing against the seabed. I wonder whether God the Son gets down on his knees and traces the shorelines carefully, the way a child concentrates on a drawing, while God the Father watches happily from behind the galaxy. Or whether both just laugh as the Holy Spirit splashes cosmic buckets of salt water on the earth to see where it falls, the way visual artist Makoto Fujimura seems to combine accident and purpose while flicking paint over a canvas to see the direction it runs. I could go on, and I encourage you to do the same. Think about what it sounds like to hear “Good!” ring out the first time over Himalayan mountain ranges. I imagine it sounds something like a dad’s hearty laugh as he watches his kids play happily together in the backyard on a summer evening when, just for a moment, the world seems as it should be. Think about a peacock strutting for the first time or a lioness exploring her tail the way cats do. All for the first time and hearing the benediction thunder like a divine drum over all things, the Trinity—likely in three-part harmony—shouting, “Good! Good! Good!” So there you have it. The beginning of the world. Now I’m a corporate lawyer. Much more nerdy, not less, than the ninety-eight-pound, clarinet-playing freshman that I was. I write and negotiate contracts for a living. So imagining the beginning of the world as a wild, Trinitarian bash is a bit of a stretch for me too. But it helps remind us of a key point: the beginning chapters of Genesis are a kind of poetry in Hebrew. Genesis may be true poetry, but it’s still poetry. And in poetry, the writer picks every single word on purpose. Note that God says “Good!” seven times at the beginning of Genesis. It’s the rhythmic refrain of the chapter. But that refrain gets halted with something like a record scratch as the music stops when we get to verse 18 of chapter 2: “The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone.’” Not good!? This, in the poetry, stands out like an inkblot on a white page. Everything halts like a paragraph left off midsentence. If the Bible is God’s Word, you have to believe he does that on purpose. Why? To stop you in your tracks and make you listen. So hear it again because it could be the most important thing that God has ever said to you: “It is not good that you are alone.”
Created for Friendship
In 2016 and 2017, sociologists started noticing Americans were dying younger and had been for a year or two. I’m sure it didn’t happen quite like this, but I like to imagine a lead sociologist in a lab coat. He’s walking around a brightly lit lab, ready to pack it in and head home for dinner, but he has to do his daily check on the Average American Life Expectancy Meter. So he walks over, clipboard in hand, takes a look, and frowns. He steps back, removes his glasses, and squints at the meter. It’s pointing in the wrong direction. He mutters something and gets his assistant, and they frown at it together. They finally agree that it is indeed true, the Average American Life Expectancy Meter is pointing backward. And it is not broken. Sociologists didn’t know it at the time, but something else was broken: the American soul. This marked the beginning of a multiyear decline. It was the first time since the 1960s that we’ve seen such a drop. And in the 1960s the reason was clear: there was a flu epidemic. Just enough to bring the average life span down to two years. But in 2017, there was nothing like that in sight. Our sociologists in lab coats here may be fictional, but this data is not. Researchers found that life expectancy was falling not because of a pandemic or cancer or anything else you might expect. The real reasons were grim and much more preventable stuff: young suicides, drug overdoses, alcoholism, and other preventable diseases of self-inflicted unhealth. In other words, “deaths of despair,” a phrase that has now entered the American vocabulary. Why? Because friendship will make or break your life. Around that time, studies showing that chronic loneliness is more dangerous to your health than smoking fifteen cigarettes a day began to get significant attention. Experts called it an epidemic of loneliness because it’s not the body that’s killing us, it’s the lonely soul that’s killing the body. This epidemic of loneliness is not past tense. The COVID-19-related deaths have only made it drastically worse. Statistics continue to be released that show a steady increase in our loneliness and a steady decline in our ability to stay alive. Data shows that through 2020 and 2021—between the epidemic of loneliness and the pandemic—Americans experienced the worst drop in life expectancy we have seen in a century. These statistics point to the enduring truth of God’s words in Genesis: “It is not good for you to be alone.” ________

2-18-2023
Happy new year. Christmas was good. I got some neat stuff. Ellie and I have been playing Breath of the Wild a lot every weekend. I love that game. I can’t wait for Tears of the Kingdom to come out.
For new years we went to some brewery up in the city that was hosting a party because Ellie’s brother has this idea in his head about what a fun New Year’s Eve is, but it is not what he (or her or I) actually find fun. He wants to want it, but doesn’t actually want it. It’s a want want. At least there was a burrito bar with spicy barbacoa. We got there a little bit late, so there wasn’t much left. There were no shells. I just ate the Barbacoa out of a bowl with a fork. It was good. I also drank a fancy can of beer.
Around 11 PM we all decided to leave so that we could make it back home in time for midnight. Ellie made me a drink and learned about the importance of having some acid like lemon juice in an alcoholic mixed drink because it balances it out. With some difficulty, we were able to watch CNN new years. We had to call my mom to get the TV login and I guess she had a little bit too much to drink because in the morning she didn’t remember the conversation and was worried about a login confirmation email that she got the night before.
Pretty soon after that we went on the ski trip and my sister fucked up her leg bad. It was on the third run down the mountain too. The ski trip lasted five days so she just had to sit around the hotel room for most of the time walking around on crutches. But we went into the hot tub one night and played board games and other things to make sure that she didn’t feel too left out. it was my first time drinking while skiing, which was fun. We had those little fireball shots and we would take those on the lift. One of the lifts was almost a mile long. It was really fun but it just kind of sucked that there was such little snow when we went. Luckily, they were making a lot of snow before hand, and they were able to use the groomers to push it on to the more patchy spots. One of the days it rained a lot so we didn’t do any skiing. one of the dates was really good though. The snow was so powdery, and it wasn’t too cold out. Eventually, I got up the courage to go down some black diamonds. These aren’t the usual black diamonds that I am used to, they were much bigger and more challenging.
Ellie and I have been listening to the Harry Potter books so on the way home we listened to the first one. Then the rest of winter break was fairly uneventful, which was nice, because I like doing nothing but spending time with her and playing video games, and watching TV and eating spicy Ramen. I went back to school, living in my box all alone. I miss her so much when she’s not here. She has classes on three of the weekdays so I get to see her then. The only day I don’t get to see her is Thursday. This semester my Wednesdays are super busy which sucks. I start class at 8:50 AM and I usually don’t get back to my dorm for the night until 5:30 PM, or around 8 PM if there’s a long meeting that I have to attend, but those don’t happen every week.
Overall, I like the classes that I’m taking, but I am ready to be done. I am keeping up with homework pretty well and my grades are doing well too. I finally got rid of windows on my desktop computer and put arch Linux on there. There was just no reason, really, to keep using windows, when I much prefer the customizability and openness of Linux.
It really sucks being here all alone. I have said this before and I will probably say it again, I can’t go anywhere on this campus without seeing the ghost of my past self. Whether I am up north, and I see myself long boarding or I walk past my freshman your dorm hall, I am always there. What’s even worse is that she is always there with me. And now she’s not. Even though I see her most days, it’s just not the same as having her live on campus with me. I just see people with their friends or with who I assume is their significant other, and it makes me think of when that was me.
Ellie and I had a talk last weekend about our sex life and how my sex drive is way higher than hers and how she feels pressure in a lot of the time. I think I might be a sex addict, but I’m not sure. I don’t go looking for sex from others or anything like that, but she is just so hot and so perfect in every way that I just want to constantly have sex with her and I hate it whenever we cuddle all I can think about is how nice she feels. This means that a lot of the time when we cuddle and makes me ask for sex or try to get her to have it or whatever. This leads to some kind of Pavlovian response where when I say that we should cuddle, she feels pressured immediately, because she thinks, and rightly so, that it will lead to me asking for sex. When I was explaining to her exactly how I felt and how every little thing that she does makes me think of sex, she started laughing because I was so serious about the topic, and it was just so foreign to her that I was having these feelings and comparing them to an alcoholic, being triggered by the site of alcohol, and not being able to stop thinking of it. So in the end, after a lot of crying on both of our parts, we came to the decision that it would be best if I stopped, asking explicitly for sex and waited for her to initiate it based on how she’s feeling. This way she doesn’t feel pressured, because how could she when I don’t ask? And hopefully this reduction of pressure will increase her sex drive and maybe we’ll have sex more often. I don’t know.
This weekend I am participating in a math competition that started on Thursday at 5 PM and it doesn’t end until Monday at 8 PM. I am so fucking mathed out. I have like autism or ADHD or something like that where I get fixated on one thing and that’s all I want to do for a while (see “Factorio”) but this is just a bit much. Overall, I think that I will be glad that I did it because it is definitely a good experience and it’s kind of fun to just work on this whole weekend. I made sure that I got all of my homework done in advance, so that I could just focus on this and nothing else. Another big reason that I did this is that we are going to use this paper that we are writing, my group and I, as our final submission in class. The class that we will submit this to is pretty much over for us after the halfway mark of the semester, because the latter half was just going to be us meeting with the professor to discuss our project instead of going to class, but since we will already be done with a project, we won’t have to do that.
Today, Ellie went down to her parents home to eat lunch with her grandpa. He isn’t doing very well lately, he hasn’t been for the past year. A few days ago she and I talked about how it would probably just be for the best if her grandpa would just pass away. He has health complications, and he has been in and out of the hospital a ton in the past year. He doesn’t like it. He is a very stubborn man, and I think at this point he is just fighting death out of spite for it probably. Anyways, she went down to her parents house today and on her way back up to where she lives and works. She passed where I live and stopped in for a bit. That made me really happy because I haven’t seen her all weekend because I have been working on this project. We went to a nice Chinese restaurant. We got to two martinis. It was buy one get 1/2 off, so we figured we might as well get two of them. We got a cotton candy one and lemon drop one and they were both super good. I got temperature again and she got hibachi shrimp as usual. They were both really good as well, that’s a really good restaurant. The only bad thing about it is that they get the food done so quickly that before you’re even done with your appetizer they bring out the entrée. So I guess if you’re looking for a quick service, go there.
Speaking of drinks, she and I were watching drink masters on Netflix. We have been experimenting with cocktails ever since we got our book on how to cocktail. I tried a gin for the first time last weekend. We went to the liquor store right outside of town and bought $60 worth of bottles. That’s OK though because we bought five bottles. I like the taste of gin, it tastes fresh. I’m not a huge fan of whiskey though. We got Canadian whiskey just to try it and see what the deal was. Lately we tried a gin fizz, and a whiskey sour. I really like amaretto sours. For Valentine’s Day I got us a bar set off of Amazon. I learned a lesson: do not buy shitty Chinese bar sets from Amazon. The shakers had paint on them that was coming off into the drinks, so we can’t use them unless we want to eat paint.
Well, it’s getting really late and I think that’s about it. There are a few things that I didn’t talk about, but for the most part that’s been what’s going on for the past two months. Lots of classes, going to see her on the weekends, And being lonely. I’ll be all right though I only have about 2 1/2 months left of this before I can live with her permanently.
Goodnight, Tumblr.

Turn the Corner
For Summer 2017
I turned the corner and headed northwest out of Paige, Arizona, and freaked out. For the next several miles, I saw nothing other than stripes and blacktop even thought it was a gorgeous sunny day. I had never been there before, that road, that part of the map, that landscape, and I was alone. Ok, as alone as a person can get with two young kids in the back of the car. But alone in the “no other adult with me” sort of way. It was on me now, all the planning, all the packing, all the driving, all the problems, all the danger, and the responsibility of the unknown. If I messed up, or got lost, or… Any mistake I made could literally kill us. But it was that or stay home and I was losing my mind staying home. So, one mile at a time, one deep breath at a time, I drove us into the unknown adventure before us.
My mother had installed in my mind the wanderlust program from an early age. I don’t remember my first plane ride at a month old and I don’t remember my first camping trip. Or first hike. Or first long car trip. My first time on a horse is a vague dreamlike memory- I may have been 2-1/2. The first ice skating and skiing experiences were in preschool. The sailboat was sometime in elementary school, as was the rafting and zipline. My first time in the cockpit was the summer before my freshman year in high school. Everything I had just shown the kids I had already seen either with my parents, a college class “field trip”, or with my husband. My only solo trip had been retracing the path laid out from my parents’ door to my aunt’s door - I had been shown the road, the way, by others.
Ironically, it was my mother that had begged me to not take myself and my 2 kids into the unknown alone. Dozens of reasons spilled from her over several weeks beforehand, including the fact my 6 year old kid was not yet old enough to take care of me if something went wrong. I still have the greeting card she slipped into my gear the morning she drove home and I drove onwards.
In my travels since then, I have met many well-meaning people, from my friends (“Do you have a SPOT?”) to strangers (“You mean you don’t have your husband with you?”) who are astonished that a mom in a VW Jetta station wagon with two young kids and a tent are camping and seeing the national parks. I have been asked if I am a teacher- Who else has the whole summer off? Answer- a bored stay at home mom.
As of right now, the three of us have seen 135 national parks and monuments (etc) units. Honestly- I have lost count, not because I can’t count the checkmarks on the master map, but how do you include the different 22(?) varieties of the park system in a count and explain it to the people around you? Currently there are about 400 different pieces and I could sit down with any fellow traveler and double the list. It is like reading all the Caldecott and Newberry winner and honor books- they are the best of the best we have.
I was also asked, sometimes in curiosity, sometimes in anger, why I was making my kids go do this. My answer is this- you have one precious childhood that you will spend like currency one moment at a time. What are you going to choose to spend it on? Like Mary Oliver said, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Whether you are a bored SAHM, or a teacher with the summer off, or any variety of working parent with a smidge of vacation time, I hope you enjoy these stories and are inspired to “turn the corner” and head into unknown adventure.

Top 10 Projects!
1. My Dark Twisted Fantasy- Kanye west
Tumblr media
In my eyes Kanye West, also known as Ye, is one of the greatest contemporary artists. Its more of a personal thing for me as I’ve grown up to his music. His albums are the sound track to my life, certain songs bringing me back to a certain time. I remember when my friend first showed me one of my now favorite songs All of the Lights on the bus ride to D.C. His release of The Life of Pablo brings me back to my freshman year of my college undergrad.
2. Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge- My Chemical Romance
Tumblr media
You can probably tell I’m heavily influence by music. This band, at its core, is what got me into rock music. For many it’s Led Zeppelin or Metálica but for me it was this band. I now am a proficient guitarist and I believe it was also this band that made me want to play music initially. I recently saw them preform live, it was amazing!
3. Berserk- Kentaro Miura
Tumblr media
Is this the greatest manga ever made? Most would debate me but I’m pretty adamant about it. The story and artwork are on a different level. The manga had inspired many works of art such a Dark Souls and Elden Ring. To me the story was very spiritual and consisted deeper meanings that could be viewed in real life. Duality is a big theme , heaven and hell, the need for both to have a balance.
4. The National
Tumblr media
This band is a big influence for my guitar playing. The guitarists in this band are twins who have amazing ability and are dialed in with their sound. Their use of finger picking is the main reason why I don’t use a pick often, I use my fourth fingers. I find their music to be mature most likely because they themselves are older. Kind of like wine rather than vodka.
5.Maña
Tumblr media
Another musical group that has been part of my life. I’m from Ecuador and our culture is very festive , when we party we party. As a kid I would hear this bands music as the family parties. They are one of the most known Spanish rock bands in the world and their music brings me back to happy times in my life and also a more sad one but even that brings tears of joy. I really hope I can see this band live!
6. MMA
Tumblr media
Mixed martial arts is a sport that’s been established pretty recently. It started in the 90s but now is rapidly becoming a more popular sport. I could never get into any sport but finally this is the one sport I will follow. I was never good at team sports but my parents thank god for them pushed me to do some form of activity. So they put me in martial arts and it’s one of the greatest things I’ve ever done. I now appreciate me being forced to do partake in martial arts training as a kid. Now watching MMA I view it as something good for me because it makes me want to work out and hit the gym. Seeing what these people can do with their bodies is inspiring and really shows me what the body is capable of.
7. Alien - H.R. Giger
Tumblr media
Giger is a Swedish artist thats work is widely known because of the film Alien. A true visionary in the horror genre. His grotesque imagery consisted of bio mechanical creatures and forms perfect for a sci-fi movie. It’s so wild that he could create a world , the essence of world building. His work shows me the heights of what an artist can achieve
8. A Course in Miracle’s
Tumblr media
This is a book I am currently reading. I find my self on a spiritual path or some would say The Path. This a great book on keeping ones faith high. I’ve been very interested in the occult. The occult means hidden knowledge and for some reason has a negative connotation to it. I’m searching for truth in a world that has been built on lies. The world is changing before our eyes and thankfully I’ve been into self growth and researching. I believe the system is allowing the people to descend into madness. In them doing that I am fortified into strengthening my mind to combat that. I’m here to help my fellow people and that could only be done if I keep my mind protected from those who want to control it and implant things that is not in my nature. I stand against evil and I believe it’s presence is being shown more and more. This book is filled with postive affirmations , Ive even modified my own. God is the light I see, God is the power within me.
9. The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
Tumblr media
I am a huge nerd when it comes LOTR even though i haven’t read the books. I plan too ! My father took me to see this movie as a kid and till this day is one of my favorites! God what a great movie!
10. Jesus Christ
Tumblr media
My family is super catholic so I was raised catholic. I still go to church as a means of respect to my parents they are super religious. I hate going to the Catholic Church, it’s so bleak. I do like Jesus, I look up to Him in a spiritual way. He was just telling people to be nice to each other and got killed for it. I also hate the way they use the scene of him being crucified as basically their logo. Why do they have to show him in agony and use that image. If I died that way I wouldn’t want people wearing me being crucified as a necklace and being sold like merch.

My laziness has been overcome and I finally finished Chapter 2 motherfuckers
Chapter 2
"Damnit, god damnit!" I say to myself, trying to find anything to stop the bleeding.
"Dad! I forgot my medication! I need one of the back up bottles!" I yell frantically, feeling my heart race as the bleeding gets worse, getting all over the seats of the car.
"Alright alright I got it!" I can hear Parker frantically scrambling through compartments, until he yells "Got it!" and tosses me the bottle. I make sure it's my medication and quickly take a pill, the nosebleed quickly stopping.
"God damn it Stages! We just told you that you need to remember your medication! How dumb can-" Parker shouts at me, before Olive promptly cuts him off.
"Hey. He doesn't need that right now. Obviously he's distracted because today is a bad day for him. Cut him some slack, please." Olive says, not taking his eyes off the road for a single moment.
"Right, sorry. It's always so terrifying when you get a nosebleed." Parker says, his hands visibly shaking.
"Yeah, the thought of turning into that thing scares me to the core." I say, remembering previous incidents.
"Yeah." Parker says, trailing off. "Anyway, don't worry about all the blood, we'll get it cleaned up later." He says, turning to look at me.
"Alright, if you say so." I say, readjusting myself to avoid all the blood.
After a short while, we begin to approach my school. The school is fairly large, as there are only three schools in this town, an elementary school, middle school, and a high school. We pull into the parking lot, and I get out of the car, putting my medication in my backpack.
"Try to have a good day, kiddo." Parker says, giving me a warm smile. "We love you." Olive says, turning to face me, giving me an equally warm smile.
"Love you too." I say, returning a smile as I close the door. I walk towards the school's entrance, watching them drive off before I enter.
After I enter, some of the other students stare at me as I walk past. Even now, people still stop to look at me. I find it funny that even after all the years I've been with most of these people, I still look so bizarre to them. I ignore the staring, and head over to the tree.  The Tree, an old oak tree,  serves as a hangout spot where me and my friends, Nathaniel and Evie, have gone to hang out since our freshman year of high school. Nathaniel and Evie are also a couple, and have been together since the summer before we came here. They're always so cute together, even if it reminds me of Niles.
Once the tree comes into view, I see the two of them sitting under the tree, Evie laying her head in Nathaniel's lap. As I get closer, they notice me, and Evie sits up, the both of them waving frantically. They smile as I get closer, and they make space for me between them.
"Hey Stages!" They exclaim happily as I sit down between them.
"Hey guys." I say, trying my best to smile without making it obvious something is wrong.
"I'm just gonna take a wild guess and assume something is wrong?" Nate asks me. He was always good at determining my mood.
"Yeah. It's Niles. Three years ago today and all that." I mutter under my breath, not wanting to look up from the grass.
"Oh, right, well, class is about to begin, but we at least have time for a group hug." Evie says, and the two of them hug me, each wrapping their arms around one half of my body.
"Thank you." I mutter, beginning to feel a tad bit better.
"No need to be thankful, you're our best friend, we hate seeing you upset." Nate says, ruffling my hair a bit. Then, the bell rings, and the three of us have to part ways and head to our classes.
I groan as I enter the classroom, having to have my least favorite class first thing in the morning. History class used to be my favorite, but when you have a teacher as unenthusiastic as Mr. Commonwealth, you might as well be listening to a robot teach a lecture. His monotone voice always sounds the same, no matter what strange words he has to pronounce. Even with this, I manage to focus and note down most of what he says, part of it blurring into incomprehensible gibberish. Although in his defense, after twenty-five or so years of teaching the same class, I'd probably end up like him too.
The class ends, and I dread the next one even more than the last. Though it's one of my favorite classes, there's this one girl who ruins it for me. Her name is Mary, and I used to be good friends with her, but after Niles died, we began to drift apart, but I still catch her staring at me intently almost every day, sometimes multiple times per day. I sit down in my chair, watching Ms. Green move about the classroom to take my mind off Mary. Ms. Green goes on about Geometry whilst moving about, as she can never really seem to be able to stay still. The class passes in a blur and she assigns us a worksheet to do by tomorrow morning, and class is dismissed.
The next few classes pass by quickly again, and lunch time rolls around. I head to our usual table off in a corner, and I wait for the two of them to arrive. Eventually, they come walking together, and sit down.
"What do you have today?" Nate asks, as he typically does.
"I don't know, my dad packed my lunch today so I have no idea what he put in it." I respond, pulling the paper bag from within my backpack.
"Well if Parker packed it then it's definitely some good food." Evie adds.
"Well let's see and find out." I mutter, opening up the bag.
Inside is a sandwich, a juice bottle, a bag of chips, and at the bottom, a marble cupcake, in a little plastic baggie.
"Oh so this is what he meant by a surprise, he packed my favorite!" I exclaim, happy to see the cupcake. Upon further inspection, the baggie had a note on it.
"Hope your day is great, kiddo." is written in his handwriting, with a little smiley face beside it. I take everything out of the bag, and Evie takes the note off the baggie and reads it.
"Aww, that's so sweet!" She exclaims, handing me back the note.
"I know, he always does something like this when I'm having a bad day." I say, smiling fondly at the note. I fold it up, put it in my pocket, and we begin to eat.
"So, I had an idea." Nate says.
"What is it?" Evie asks him.
"So, how about we have a little gathering tonight? Nothing big, just go to Stages's house to help him keep his mind off of Niles for today." Nate explains.
"That sounds nice, plus my dads are always happy to have you guys around." I say, smiling.
"But what about our homework?" Evie asks.
"We'll do it while we're there, obviously." Nate replies.
"Well, if isn't inconvenient for either of you, then we can all go together with Parker and Olive after classes end." I say, beginning to eat the marble cupcake.
"Yeah, I'll just tell my foster mom where I'll be going so she doesn't worry." Nate says, watching a leaf fall from a tree.
"Yeah, I'll tell mine too." Evie mutters.
They both start texting their foster parents, and I text Olive about the plan. He simply replies with a smiley face and a thumbs up, so I take it as a yes.
"Alright, she's fine with it." Nate says, putting away his phone.
"Mine too." Evie says, grinning.
"Great! So let's meet up out front and we'll wait for Olive to pick us up." I exclaim.
"Yeah, I may or may not be a bit late though, Ms. Richards loves to keep us after the bell with her bizarre stories." Nate says, chuckling a bit as if he can hear her go on about how her goats ate the fence, or how the cat coughed up a hairball the size of a baseball.
"Oh god, Ms. Richards still-" Evie starts to speak, but then stops, noticing something behind me. "Hey, Stages, Mary's watching you again." Evie whispers.
"Just ignore her, she won't approach us." I mutter.
"Let's just get to our class, the lunch bell is about to ring anyway." Nate says to us both,
Evie and I do the same, and go the long route to our class, just to avoid Mary.
My last two classes pass by in a blur, and soon, the final bell rings, and I head out into the hallways, waiting outside Evie's class, then Nate's. We wait near the entrance, and soon, Olive pulls up, rolling down the windows and proudly showing me that he found his glasses. From what I can see, the blood from earlier has been mostly washed out, but there are still small stains here and there. We get into the back seats, first Nate, then me, and finally Evie. We quickly pull out of the parking lot, and make our way towards home.

Love Delivered To Your Doorstep
Tumblr media
Evan Buckley x Reader
Warnings: fem!reader, mentions of cheating, break ups and killing/serial killers. (<in a joking context)
Category: fluff for the most part.
Word Count: 3.9k
Author’s Note: Doesn’t follow canon, it has a little of buck begins in there but it doesn't follow a strict timeline. It also is written like Buck moves to LA and has his apartment from the moment he moves there while trying to figure out what he wants to do.
-----
Texting and calling was never your choice method of communication.
Letters had always been more of your thing.
Truthfully, they hadn't been your thing until your boyfriend moved halfway across the country for university. The two of you met in high school, freshman year and became inseparable since. Growing together and promising to always love each other no matter what -you always knew that couldn't be true but it never stopped you from telling him.
When he told you that he was going to be applying to UCLA during your senior year of high school, it came as a bit of a shock to you. The plan was always going to college together, get engaged when you were done school and then married with a house by 30.
You held out the hope of that being possible until the day he showed you his acceptance letter.
You were incredibly proud of him but it was real now, he was leaving.
You watched him pack up his entire life and uproot himself from New York and moved across the country. You sent the first letter to him at what was supposed to be his apartment.
September 30th.
‘Hi baby!
Just writing to see how you're settling in. How’s UCLA ? Have you gotten a chance to go around and get to see the place ? I know you’re there for school but you've got to live a little too. Hope your neighbours are sweet, your mom told me it’s a pretty nice place and it’s got a good view, sounds like your type of place. Hopefully I can come visit you soon.
I started my classes last week. My chem professor is a pain in my ass already, he expects us to read an entire textbook in a week - well not exactly an entire textbook but you get the point. My biology professor is a sweetheart, she showed us pictures of her kids and talked about them for an hour, I didn't realize being a mother was so interesting but she was cool. Also showed us a video of an appendectomy that one of her colleagues performed last week. How are your classes and professors ?
Did I mention I bumped into Sam at the grocery store ? Yeah, he’s back and he’s not fine to tell you the truth. He seemed like he was ready to snap but that might just be my judgment. He said to tell you hello if I spoke to you so- hello :)
I’m going to sign off here, I know this one is short but I don’t have much to update you on. Life’s been pretty dull without you. Hope you’re having fun out there, soaking up the sun for me.
Write me back soon, I love you.
Yours always, y/n’
You mailed the letter the next day, a few weeks had passed before you received a letter back. Except this letter had a different sender name but the same address.
October 22nd.
‘Hi y/n,
This isn't your boyfriend. (I'm assuming that’s who you're writing too based on the context of the letter) I’m Evan, I live in the apartment you thought belonged to your boyfriend or maybe you got the address wrong, I’m not sure.  I know you were waiting for an update on all these exciting things that are happening at UCLA. I do not go to UCLA nor can I update you in anything exciting that’s happening there, sorry.
Anyways, the reason I'm writing you back is because I figured you’d want to know that this isn't the correct address and the person you were looking for isn't here before you send another letter and get no response. I was debating if I should have even written you back, but here I am, writing you back.
Your professor for chem seems like an ass to be honest (hope that’s not rude) and your biology professor sounds great, is she hot by the way ? because bonus points for that. Anyways, are you studying medicine ? I'm guessing yes because of the classes you're taking. I'm thinking of signing up to become a first responder but I haven’t decided yet on what yet or if I'm actually going to do it. Anyways, good luck on your classes and the shitty chem professor.
Hope you find your boyfriend (again, assuming)
Peace out,
Evan.’
To say you were shocked would be an understatement. How could the letter you sent to your boyfriend’s apartment belong to someone else ? Why was there someone else living in his apartment ? You dug through your apartment, searching for the paper he left you with the address, you finally found it buried in a drawer.
The address on the paper was identical to the one that Evan sent to you and to the one you sent prior to that. Either your boyfriend was lying or you were losing your mind.
November 4th.
‘Dear Evan,
I'm sorry that I sent the first letter to you and as you guessed, I was looking for my boyfriend who seems to be a bit MIA right now. His mother says that’s the right address and the place that she helped him move into. So I'm not really sure what’s happening there. Anyways, sorry for unloading all of that on you.
To answer your question, yes, I am studying medicine and no, she isn't hot. My bio professor is a 65 year old woman who loves her college aged kids very much. If that’s your definition of hot, then yes - she's got milf status
Have you decided yet if you’re going to sign up to be a first responder ? That’d be pretty cool. Imagine all the girls swoon over you and how many girls you’d pick up just for being a paramedic or a firefighter.
Wait, are you into girls ? Or guys ? You know, whoever you're into, just imagine how many of them you’d pick up.
Also, you’re not a murderer or anything right ? because I rather not answer questions when the police come asking about why I've been sending letters to a serial killer.
Anyways, signing off for now.
Yours always, y/n.
ps. if you do end up bumping into or meeting a guy that looks like my boyfriend, (tall, brown hair, brown eyes. he’s got a pierced ear and a little butterfly tattoo by his collarbone- though not sure why or how you'd see his collarbone) let me know or tell him that his girlfriend is looking for him.
Double ps, what size shirt do you wear ?’
Buck laughed at your absurd question. A person he didn’t even know was asking what size shirt he wore. The letter was set on the coffee table with the rest of the mail, getting buried under all of the stuff he had on there. It was almost the end of December when he realized that he hadn't written you back yet.
December 21st.
‘Hey y/n,
Sorry I've taken so long to get back to you. Things have been hectic over here. I’ve been doing some ‘soul-searching’ - I guess you could call it that and honestly, I don’t think if this whole first responders thing is for me.
I tried out bartending or well, the technical term is mixologist and I’m liking it so far, I think i’m going to stick with it for now.
How have you been ? How’s school ? Surely, you’re on break for the holidays right about now or at least when you get this letter. I hope that you're spending the break doing something fun.
I’m not going to make this very long, I’m sure you’ve been busy with whatever you’re doing right now.
Also, I’ve been meaning to ask. Have you located the mysteriously disappearing boyfriend yet ? I haven't seen anyone that fit your description.
well, that’s not true- I did and just to be sure I asked to see his collarbone, he looked at me like I was a mad man so I guess it wasn't him ?
Anyways, I hope you have a good holiday and you're probably gonna get this sometime between holidays, so merry belated (?) Christmas and happy New Years y/n.
Peace out,
Evan.
ps. medium or large, depending on what it is. Hopefully that answers your question weirdo.’
January 13th.
The morning of the 13th, he went down to check his mail. A box was there with his name on it, the return address was one he had only seen on an envelope. The box returned upstairs with him, setting it on the counter before opening it.
Upon opening it, there was a letter and some colourful tissue paper with what seemed like a sweater under it. He opened the letter first.
‘Dear Evan,
Happy New Years! How was your holiday going ? Did you do anything fun ?
I’ve been good and school is good too, I'm almost done my first year, isn't that crazy ? Just a few more months to go.
How’s your job as mr. mixologist going ? I'm sure you’ve met some wild people and heard some interesting stories.
As for the boyfriend situation, that's over. I’m not surprised to tell you the truth but it still kinda sucks. Anyways, so what happened was that his older brother had come home from college last year and brought a friend with him. She went to the same school as his brother but transferred to UCLA- anyways long story short, they hooked up while he and I were still together and he moved in with her after his mom helped him move into the apartment I thought he had.
But! I’m single and chilling now so it’s all good. (bonus, she cheated on him and left him so yeah)
I got you a little something for Christmas and as a “sorry for unloading all my boyfriend drama on you” present. I was in the gift shop and it made me think of you. Do you celebrate Christmas? I forgot to check oops. If you don't, count it as a just a “sorry for unloading all my boyfriend drama on you” present?
I got a large because I wasn't sure if it would fit. I hope you like it. That’s all for now.
Yours always, y/n.’
He unwrapped the tissue paper to see a blue sweater with the letters NYU on it. He smiled, he assumed that’s where you went. It was sweet that you took the time to get him something, even if it was a by the way thing. Not a lot of people would send something to a person they had been talking to via letters and halfway across the country.
February 12th.
2 days before Valentine's Day, your least favourite holiday of the year. You weren't looking forward to watching all your friends going on with their boyfriends and girlfriends. The mail had arrived while you were out, you picked it up and headed in. There were two envelopes with your name on it,  a plain white one and a red one. The red envelope was more squared than rectangular, you assumed it was a card- both had the same sender name.
‘Hey y/n!
Thank you for the sweater, it was nice of you to think of me and get me something. I didn’t know we were doing gifts or I would have sent you something as well and yes, I do celebrate Christmas.
My job as ‘mr. mixologist’ was going well until I quit. It just didn’t feel like the right fit for me you know ? I'm going to see what else is out there for me.
Sorry to hear about your boyfriend, he seems like a douche. Who would cheat on you ? You seem great I mean at least you are on paper (did you get my joke, it’s hard to tell)
Also, remember how I was thinking I might actually give that first responder thing a try? Imagine me as a firefighter, that’s pretty cool right ?
So I kinda did a thing and signed up and then I got in. I started two weeks ago and it was kicking my ass at first but I've gotten a hang of it and things are going pretty well. There's three other Evans in my class so everyone calls me Buck-I kind of like it.
The other envelope, hopefully you opened this one first, is a little something for you for valentines. Hope you like it.
Peace out,
Buck’
The red envelope was on your lap, you pulled the edges carefully not wanting to rip it. Inside was a plain white card with bright red letters that made you laugh. The cover read ‘I’m not sick of you yet!” Opening the card, a $20 fell onto your lap. There was a little message inside that went along with the cash.
‘Since we aren't together and can’t spend valentines together, there’s some cash to get yourself a box of chocolates and a teddy bear. Happy Valentines Day y/n
Love, Buck.’
You smile, this was the first time that Buck had signed with ‘love, buck’ it had always been ‘peace out, buck.’ You tucked the card into the drawer, one you didn’t use very often so you knew it’d be safe there.
*4 years later*
A few weeks had passed since Buck had last heard from y/n. His last letter to her was at the end of June, telling her all about the day he had spent at Hen and Karen’s. He always described every little detail so vividly that it made her feel like she was there with him- but it was now July, end of actually and moving into August.
4 years had blown like nothing.
It felt like just yesterday he got the first letter in the mail. 4 years and they still had no idea what each other looked like but they knew every intricate and intimate detail about each other, their lives and the people in it.
Y/n and Buck had grown rather close over the last few months- more than they already were. Y/n just went through a pretty shitty break up and Buck wasn't exactly big on relationships as of right now.
He had just gotten home from work, his keys set on the counter when he realized that he forgot to check his mail. Stepping back out, there was a woman in the hallway and boxes scattered across her, leading into the apartment down the hall.
She must be his new neighbour.
He wanted to go over and introduce himself but she was busy telling the movers where to set her couch so he decided that he would check the mail and then introduce himself when he returned so he did just that.
Except, she was still busy.
She leaned against the wall, watching the movers move what looked like a coffee table. She glanced up to see Buck walking by, she smiled and he returned the smile.
Buck reaches his apartment, the mail in hand and steps in. He sorts through the pile, bills, ads, coupons and no letter from y/n.
---
Your new apartment was a mess. You decided it was time for a change. You applied to a few hospitals after your break up and the one in LA hired you. So you dropped everything and moved- no family, no ties.
A fresh start.
It was a nice neighbourhood and the building was quiet. The neighbours you met were pleasant and welcoming. When you were having the furniture moved in, there was a blonde man who smiled at you and you assumed he lived in the unit down the hall because that’s where he stepped into.
It was almost 11pm when you finally sat down. You had been on your feet all day and just wanted to eat something. The box with the dishes was beside the couch, you pulled the tape off and opened it. There was an envelope sitting on top of the stack of plates.
Buck’s last letter to you.
You must have tossed it into the boxes while packing and you forgot to write him back. Tumbling through the boxes, you find a sheet of paper and a pen from your bag. Sitting on the floor, the paper resting on an unopened box, you begin writing.
‘Dear Buck,
I’m sorry I've taken so long to get back to you. I quit my job, and uprooted my entire life. The break up sucked major ass as you know, so I decided it was time for a change.
Guess where I decided to go ?
Did you guess yet?
No, not Canada, why would you guess Canada ?
LA!
Yeah, isn't that crazy that I ended up here of all places? Maybe we could get together one day (if you haven’t turned into a crazy serial killer that is.)
Anyways, that’s why I've taken so long to write. I was packing when I got your letter and I tossed it in a box and just found it again. Anyways, I hope you’ve been good, how have things been at the station ?
I promise I'll write again with more details soon, I just have to get settled in first.
Yours always, y/n.’
Folding the paper, you slipped into an envelope. The address being scribbled into the back of the envelope. You were about to seal it when the building number caught your eye.
It was the same number as the place you moved into. The same address, the building number, the same floor.
The unit number was the only difference.
There was no way you moved into the building that Buck lived in.
You knew the address felt familiar when you saw the listing but you didn’t think anything of it nor did it occur to you that you knew the address.
Stepping out of your apartment, looking at the number on the room and back down at the envelope in your hand. Buck’s apartment was down the hall.
Part of you just wanted to mail it and keep things as it was but another part of you wanted to meet him, to see what he was really like in person. So there you were walking down the hallway at a quarter past 11 in the dead of the night to meet a man you had been sending letters to for the last 4 years.
The end of the hallway, you stared at the black wooden door in front of you. Your brain weighing the options right now: he’s a sweetheart and welcoming and makes you feel comfortable or he’s a weird guy who’s been lying to you this whole time and you told him everything about you and now he’s going to kill you.
Before you could register what you were doing, you knocked on the door.
Glancing down at yourself, you were wearing a pair of old shorts and a t-shirt from high school that you found in a drawer while packing. Not an ideal outfit, maybe he’s sleeping and you can go home and change- the door opened, a man wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt stood there. He looked like he had just woken up.
“Sorry, did I wake you?”
“It's alright,” he yawned, his hand covering his mouth as he blinked away a few tears. “What can I do for you ?” he leaned against the door.
“Um, this is an odd question-” you shifted, glancing down at the envelope in your hand. “Are you Buck ?”
“I am, who are you ?”
“Y/n.”
You had never seen a man wake up that fast, he seemed surprised, confused and concerned all in one. “How- uh, are you- What ?” he mumbled.
“I found your letter in the box after I moved, I moved into the apartment down the hall” you point to your left, Buck sticks his head out of the doorway and looks at the door you were pointing to. You were the woman in the hallway that he saw earlier, he knew you looked familiar.
“I just wrote your letter and I noticed that the addresses were the same, just a different unit number so I decided to come check. Sorry if I bothered you, we can talk another day- it’s late and you probably have work” “Would you like to come in?” he opens the door a bit more, looking to you for an answer.
“Um, okay sure.” stepping in, you can’t help but glance around. The apartment was similar to yours, the layout was a bit different though. “Can I get you something to drink ? Coffee, water ? A beer ?” he rounded the kitchen counter, you took a seat on one of the chairs by the counter.
“Water’s fine, thanks”
He reached for a bottle from the fridge, sliding it over to you. You gave him a smile, he leaned against the counter and was now looking- studying you.
“I know we’ve talked to each other for 4 years but this is kinda strange” you chuckled awkwardly, Buck can't help but smile.
“Yeah, it is, isn't it? but can I ask why you moved to LA?”
“Well all of that was in the letter” you slide the envelope across the counter and he picks it up, opening it. Giving him a few moments to read, you watch his expression like you were hoping for some insight as to how he was feeling or what he was thinking. He let out a laugh, “how’d you know I'd guess Canada ?” you smiled at him, a small wave of relief washing over you for some reason. “Lucky guess I suppose”
“Do you-” “What are-” the sentences cutting each other off, the two of you awkwardly smiling at each other. “You first” looking at him, he hums.
“Do you have work tomorrow or are you busy ?” His eyes meet yours, you found yourself leaning forwards towards the counter- towards him. He made you feel comfortable, you’d go as far as to say safe, in a way you’ve never felt before.
“No, I don't start until the 21st. Why ?”
“I was thinking - if you're not busy and if you want to, of course. Maybe I could take you out for breakfast and I could show you around ? Or lunch or dinner ? Whatever works for you actually” he rambles, fiddling with his fingers to avoid eye contact.
A small laugh slips past your lips causing him to look up, his brows furrowed as he studies your face, looking for an answer.
“Breakfast sounds good, what time should I be ready for ?”
“Uh, is 10 okay ?” he asks, you nod. “I’ll be ready for 10 then.”
“Okay, I'll pick you up” he smiles.
“Buck, we live in the same building.”
“Oh right,” he chuckles, “well I'll be by yours at 10 then” the two of you smiling at each other.
“Okay.”
