Part 2 Progress of Ricky, Gordon, and the MFN gang that were tricked to come to this other abandoned studio in Hollywood to make an adventure movie that turns out to be the studio lots for the in-universe versions of The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, The Shadow Sapphire and The Mystic Maze, that’s under the control of the Skeksis-like villains. This guy here is if you merge SkekSo from The Dark Crystal, and the Cleric from Toy Story That Time Forgot. Physical Drafting for the first panel is done so it can be done digitally!

Quest/Geas
Spell Level: Cleric 5, Magic-user 6
Range: 30 ft.
Duration: Until completed
Set a task for one individual. This oath may be willingly taken, or spoken as a rhyming curse, which the victim saves against at -2. Clerics give -4 on the save to Lawful folk, and to refuse is exile from the church. The victim will die if they ignore the task, losing one Strength each week they dally once they find a path to proceed, or it finds them.
Upon completion of a Quest, the hero may better one thing about themself: their alignment, restore 1d6 lost to an ability score, undo a Geas, or become one year younger. Should they fall and fail, they will leave some terrible mark upon the earth.
Reversed as a Geas (a Chaotic spell for Anti-Clerics), grant an inhuman power as well as a prohibition: something that the victim will never again as normal folk do. For instance, grant the ability to transform into a wolf and be immune to normal weapons, but never again sleep in a bed at night. If the restriction is broken, the victim will die within an hour. Saving throws are rolled with the same penalties, and abrogated if the victim performs part of the ritual—for the future werewolf, consuming the flesh of a man at meal-time and staying outside all night.
Quest has for some time now been an important part of our high-level sandbox play—the members of the party, when they know their upcoming goals, swear oaths to them, committing to accept whatever twists may come up on them. Right now, they are seeking the remains of the slain god Mot in order to re-write Akererak's contract with the heavens and destroy the lich forever. This gives us the heroic flavour while keeping things open to the players, by giving them a boon when they do their great deeds.
But D&D has always called the spell by two names, and I want the Geas to be a real, distinct thing. Our Anti-Cleric has also been giving Quests and while the play of folks choosing whether to swear Evil Oaths or try to resist their friend is fun, it still hasn't been quite right. So we'll try something different for a bit, and maybe make some more edits.

Do you check up on Dogday?
If your answer is no, I can obviously see why.
"THE HERETIC? Oh... I'm not usually allowed to talk about him."
"...But as long as I don't mention his name..."
"THE HERETIC... I visit him sometimes."
"I sing him lullabies from time to time,"
"And try to convience him to come with me... with US..."
"...But he never yields."
"THE PRIEST wants to kill him... But I ask him to wait."
"I know he can see the truth."
"He just needs to open his eyes and heart to HIM."
