Valerie, who saw this whole thing, grabs Tim by the ear and forces him to apologize to her boyfriend and daughter. Tim recognizes Danny as his newest PA, and decides that today wasn’t the day he wanted to meet his newest employee.

Dammit Danny your bones are made of glass right now from destabilizing, let your cells repair before doing anything!) because the four of them were talking about Batman and his clan of kids.

also Danny does his usual 'run on negative sleep' bullshit while in the manor except now he has not only damian but also Nasra tag-teaming his bullshit. Like no, Danny. you need sleep to recover your strength. your ghostly investigation can wait until you're not about to pass out and break your nose on your laptop. They have whole ass arguments in arabic - all three of them - as damian AND nasra drag danny to the closest soft horizontal surface. Danny returns the favor to the both of them when those two are also doing their 'negative sleep' stuff.

Damian: know that you guys are Batman and his family? Yeah. Grandfather and Mother told me before I was living with Danny.

This has probably been asked before, but what does Piepoe think of the REAL Peppino? Would she mistake him for one of the clones?

Piepoe doesn't really think much of him, but she actually feels very uneasy around the real Peppino. While it isn't exactly afraid of him, they do know just how much damage he can do if he's pushed to his limits. Usually when the real Peppino is nearby or approaches Piepoe's vicinity, they will sit up straighter, and be more on alert and cautious. While it looks like nothing has changed in her facial expression, she is actually much more focused than usual.

(This reaction overall tho is bc they haven't exactly formed any sort of communication with one another. If Peppino shows kindness and or even just treats his crafted toppin fambly nicely they will immediately be ":)" and much more trusting towards him.)

This is what the Monitor says, when he arrives in her room in the Legion headquarters.

These are the words that remind Querl- oh. She still belongs to the twenty-first century, can be called back by her cousin or any other hero who may require her… rather than with the Legion.

Rather than with me.

Selfish, he berates himself. You are being illogical. Of course she would take such an opportunity- to save countless worlds, countless people, or at least try to do so. She already has, while the two of them have been together. He’d never be upset with her for that.

However… there is still a part of him that acknowledges this could be their end, as it could be for many others. The Monitor has described a situation more difficult than anything either of them has faced before.

Worlds will live, worlds will die…

He wants to live. He wants Kara to live. He knows that is being extremely idealistic, possibly too much so.

But how can he not be? The past year has been filled with more than he could have ever hoped for.

More hope, that he could be seen as not just another Brainiac clone but a hero, reclaiming his family’s reputation and legitimately joining the Legion. Bonding with someone who understands him, despite their uneasy first meeting and early hostility.

More joy, once they did bond, and became members of the Legion together. Helping their teammates, saving lives, stealing time for themselves between missions. Learning more about one another, enjoying being together no matter what, both of them finally having found a place to belong.

More love… than any other time in his life before. Being in love with an incredible woman, who sees him the same way.

The last thing he wants is to lose all of that.

Which is why he’s relieved, when Kara says, “Wait.”

And when she grabs his hand.

“I can’t do this without him.” She continues. “My boyfriend, Brainiac 5- I’ve already saved the universe with him once before, sending the Miracle Machine to a different reality. If I’m going with you, he’s coming too.”

She looks over at him, and he simply nods- both to her, and the Monitor.

“Very well.” He says.

Kara smiles.

“We just have to inform President Saturn Girl.” She says. “Then we’re going.”

As they return to the command center of the Legion headquarters, Kara stops in her tracks.

“I don’t know what I’m needed for, exactly.” She says, as she places a hand on his shoulder. “I… don’t even know if we’ll come back from this. But whatever it is, whatever it takes… I’m glad to do it with you.”

“My thoughts exactly.” He answers. “Thank you.”

Kara kisses him, then, as his arms wrap around her waist, and once they finally pull away from one another, beginning to approach their friends, one thought runs through Querl’s mind-

I will not let that be our last.

Tanuki. as a whole, is a very weird Quirk, being an animal based Transformation Quirk, which we don't see much of in canon. I'm sure that some of the other Transformation Heroes (like Ryukyu and Mt Lady) would take an interest in her, as well as some of the more animalistic ones (Shishido, Hound Dog, Gang Orca, etc).

So currently, no, but there are some interesting choices lined up.

I'm curious to know if you've ever watched Orphan Black because beth childs manages to be an extremely shannon masters coded character by dying in the first five minutes of episode one and then having the entire basis for the show centre around her absence anyway

okay i HAVE watched orphan black but not all of it. i think?? to the end of season 2 but ho boy yeah Beth was very much that kind of character & like ghdklsdk the sheer nonsense that Sarah managed to get away with as her tells you that this woman was very clone-brand with the whole 'there's something wrong with you that is also wrong with me' disaster-DNA club.

i think shannon is a more compelling character mostly because i was 'then perish' about beth's boyfriend guy (tho never forget sarah in the guns & roses tank top. monuments should be raised in its honour etc etc) and also her house was too minimalist for me. too clean. why is your house so clean beth.

but that said she does do a very similar thing to the narrative - especially when you add the layer of impersonation going on. like yes she's dead but there are copies of her out in the world, & they're simulacrum. poorly-stitched echoes. but they're carrying around her biological fault-lines and they're living wildly different lives but they're also the same, kind of hideous suggestions of what could have been, and never was, and never will be.

i do love characters who start things by Ending. obi-wan kenobi and what he says to Vader as he dies "if you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine". !!! and there is something to be said for that - how shannon and beth do things with their death that they couldn't have done with their lives, how sacrifice and tragedy can be weapons, too. & how cruel a narrative is when it tells a character that the best thing they can do for the story is die.
