Izuku having a day off, just to relax and class was not informed. Entire class freaks out thinking izuku went on another vigilante arc and run around like like headless chickens looking for him.

Aizawa is so tired. He is loath to admit that he cares for his problem child, but he is still his to protect and where the fuck did that little shit run off to now?

Why can’t this small child with a literal hero complex just talk to him for once in his all too young life?

All might, despite being one of the ones to encourage izuku to take a day off, is very much freaking out

Class A is. So stressed. Aizawa doesn’t want them to help search for him, because he tries to remind them that it could just be nothing, maybe he went home to see his mother! That sounds like him!

But after a call to Inko, he is even more tired. Midoriya is not there. Inko is now worried as well.

He tells the class not to go searching for him, but nobody listens.

I like to think that inko is the most calm in this situation. She’s like, oh, he’s probably just going for a run or walking around! Yeah, he likes to be outside! He’s such an energetic kid! I’m so proud of him! And class A and the teachers are just in shambles

Eventually, they pass an inconspicuous little pet store on their search for the green bean

Someone sees a fluffy green head of hair and all but sprints into the shop with little explanation other than, “THERE!”

Izuku is none the wiser about the hectic day his friends and mentors have been having.

He had turned his phone off :(

He didn’t want to frighten the kittens if he got a call :(

They’re so soft, guys and they just want love and affection :(

Aizawa stalks up to the store in all his angsty ways like the grim reaper and tells izuku that UA is going to implement a system where leaving the campus requires a staff member to be told beforehand and to accompany the student. No exceptions.

It’s a shame no one had talked to nezu really. He had been watching the whole time. Ah, love and learn. Maybe next time

So, the Knuckles Show...

It was a hassle to attempt and find the show somewhere else (pirate if you wanna watch), and also I had a lot going on that day, BUT!

I have finally finished all six episodes of Knuckles, and my final thoughts...!

...It was pretty good.

Honestly, nothing to ground-breaking and outstanding but it was fantastic and such a lovely treat to hardcore Knuckles fans. Like me lol. (It may not look like it, but TRUST ME THIS SHOW TURNED ME INTO A HARDCORE KNUCKLES FAN.)

All of my thoughts are under the cut, but to make a long story short, I really enjoyed it! (Forgive this post and me I'm not the best at sharing reviews DX)

Now, some things I wanna point out... (MASSIVE SPOILERS AND PERSONAL HEADCANONS AHEAD)

THOUGHTS ON CHARACTERS

I really liked Wade Whipple. He's goofy, and dorky, and he was fantastic for saving his family and Knuckles. His character arc was really interesting to watch, and he's got a lot of funny moments. Him and Knuckles also make a great team. I believe he would make a great Uncle for Knuckles. XD

Knuckles' arc was fantastic too. I was hoping that he realizes that Earth is his home, and he did. The Movie Series version of Knuckles is definitely my favorite version of Knuckles. EVER. Love this character to death. Number one favorite character right now.

The story was pretty good, too. Interesting that Knuckles isn't the only main focus, but I was onboard with the idea that Wade is also in the spotlight. I liked Wade but I love him A LOT.

The whole drama with Wade's family was something that honestly caught me off guard, but in a good way. It's just great to see more of his extended family. (And Wade's mother and is just so sweet and cool.)

Mason and Willoughby were fun to watch. Almost better than Orbot and Cubot, honestly. XD

The Buyer... I kind of forgot about him until the last few episodes. XD Cool villain, though!

Pachacamac... Never thought I would actually enjoy this character. Really wish he got enough screen time, dude is so hilarious. So much better than the Pachacamac we all knew from Adventure 1 pffffft. And hearing Doc Brown's voice coming out of Mac's mouth was the best part. He fits the role perfectly.

WACHOWSKI FAMILY CRUMBS! WE GOT TO SEE MORE OF THE WACHOWSKIS! It was only for one episode, but it's just so refreshing to see Knuckles with his newfound family, especially Tails. (Even though he didn't get enough screentime.)

MY HEADCANONS OF THE EVENTS DURING THE SHOW (and afterwards)

The house is still in construction after the second film. I have a feeling that the Knuckles show took place probably a month or two after the second film. (Or at least after the baseball field scene from the movie.)

And if that's the case, then it's probably why Sonic and Tails haven't called Maddie "mom" yet. Sonic JUST made Donut Dad official, but not hearing Sonic calling Maddie "mom" didn't surprise me, actually. Since he had a mother figure once before, and now she's gone. Sonic is probably still struggling to make Mama Maddie official after that whole mess. 🥺

And also I think Tails does look at Tom and Maddie as his parents, but calls them by their first names because that's what he's most comfortable with for now.

Sonic mentions that Tails and Knuckles are his roommates. ...Something tells me that he hasn't realized the bigger picture yet. 😈 Once the realization hits, it's over for the middle child.

I seriously don't believe Knuckles is sticking with the Whipples. He's got a bed at home, and "pretzel woman" is a motherly title of sorts for Maddie. I just think Knuckles and Wade have formed a really strong bond. Wade is more of a uncle figure for him, but the Whipples are part of the Wachowskis regardless. 💕

I bet Knuckles' grape stash that the moment Knuckles walks back home with Wade, Sonic, Tails and Maddie (and Tom if he came home) freaks the hell out because he just straight up left home without an explanation. Especially since he's grounded and shouldn't have step foot out of the house. But all that matters is that Knuckles is at home with his family. Did this calm everybody down? No, and yes. It's hard to explain. (At least Sonic knows now that Knuckles can finally relax.)

Ever since the events of the Knuckles Show, seeing visions of Pachacamac is pretty normal for Knuckles, whether he needs to be guided for something even if it's small, or he just casually shows up in his dreams just to say "hi." I feel like since he visited Wade while he was unconscious, I think Pachacamac would also visit other people's dreams or visions. It be so goddamn funny if this dude just randomly show up in Sonic's dream, scaring the living daylights out of him, and when he explains it to Knuckles, he's like: "Oh, that's just Mac, he's cool." and Sonic is like: "???????"

THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODES - Fair warning, I've only seen these episodes ONCE (Including some clips I rewatched on Tumblr.) so some things here might be fuzzy or wrong, so bare with me here...

Episode 1 was a great start. I love the dynamic Sonic and Knuckles has. Bummer that we didn't get to see more of them together, but with the power of writing, that problem can be solved! (HUZZAH!) I love the small bit with Knuckles and his mother Maddie after he got grounded and how he just, took it okay with the fact that he's grounded. And I love Sonic trying to help his new buddy out, he's an absolute sweetheart for that. Pachacamac's appearance in the episode took me by surprise and he was such a joy to watch. Love the elderly goofball. Seeing Knuckles and Wade interact was nice, too, even when he gets to talk about his dad. It was a nice moment. And Knuckolas Cage. Best nickname ever, how dare Knuckles decline such a title for a perfect warrior XD

Episode 2 was great. Absolutely love the daydream scene with Wade's plan on saving Knuckles from the G.U.N. agents, and Holding Out For a Hero playing in the background. GOLDEN. Don't remember much else other than that and Knuckles and Wade rocking out to so music. (And Knuckles breaking the radio again.)

Episode 3 is when we get to see Wade's family members, and it was nice. Wanda is one of those siblings that we had and Wendy (is that her name?) is just so lovely. We got to know more of Knuckles' dad, and once more, it was a tender moment between an Echidna and a dork-ass Uncle. 😊 And we got a EPIC fight scene with Knuckles, Wendy and the goons. It was AWESOME. Also, love Wade's room. He's got good taste.

Episode 4... Oh, my God. It was a fever dream. Literally. It was so RIDICULOUS but it was the greatest thing I've ever seen in a long time. XD I love musical numbers that just come out of NOWHERE, and this was one of them! Adam Pally (Wade) in a Knuckles costume is just the most elegant thing. AND ECHIDNA MUPPETS ARE REAL! I WAS HOPING THAT THEY WOULD ACTUALLY BRING IN THE ECHIDNA MUPPET!! Jokes aside, it was a strangely epic episode of Wade going through Knuckles' past in a unique way. And the songs were pretty great. ...You think that's where all the budgeting went? On this gorgeous musical number? /j Also we got more of my boy Pachacamac, being one of my favorite characters besides Knuckles lmao GOD I wish we got more of Pachacamac. I love him so much XD

Episode 5 Is when they arrive at Reno. It was alright. We got to see Wade meeting his dad finally (also Knuckles is using a phone no problem I guess??) I think that's all I remember. WE GOT KNUCKLES WITH THE HAT THOUGH SO YEAH!

Episode 6 is the last one of the mini series and it was pretty kick-ass. More cool fight scenes, with Knuckles and the Agents, him against the Buyer, which was short and sweet, but still pretty intense. Wade and Pete was competing in bowling. Kept forgetting about that, but it was cool regardless. And Wade being the best uncle ever and protecting Knuckles while he was out. Also kind of forgot a lot from this episode, but nonetheless, badass way to end the mini series. Complete with the classic freeze frame of Knuckles and Wade getting a high five! Knuckles realizing that his home is on Earth was such a powerful scene. It was the first Sonic movie all over again.

And yes, there was a pretty quick post credits scene where Knuckles found a song and claimed it was his jam. It was really cute. XD

Really wish there was a scene where Knuckles came back home to the Wachowskis with the family flipping the lid over the fact that he left the house, but in my heart I know damn well it happened. I know this series too well lmao

That's pretty much all I wanna say about how this show made me feel. It was a fun time. Not was insane as Movie 1 and 2, but still as enjoyable.

Honestly, after watching this, I hope we get a Wachowski family TV show, where it's just the family on misadventures, and moments together that are comedic, fluffy, angst, any emotion you wanna feel watching it, and it's just a good time. I just wanna see more of this goofy little growing family. (Also it'd be cool if season 1 was after the first movie because I wanna see Sonic adjusting to his new life with Tom and Maddie and spending traditions and holidays with them before the sequel.) I love this series too much. 😅

This show got me really ambitious to work on my stories and I really wanna show the community how amazing these characters are. (I just need to get an AO3 in the future...)

It feels good to be back on the Wachowski bandwagon.

The Knuckles Show is flawed, but it was a fun time. I love the characters, I love the story, I love the choice of songs they used, and of course, I love Knuckles. This is the best we've ever seen of Knuckles, and I'm proud of how far this little, tough guy has came.

The Echidna Warrior made his debut 30 years ago, and he's never been stronger. Keep on punching, Knuckles! 😎💕

You have no media literacy stop talking about Transformers especially the MTMTE series if you don't understand the way characters especially Megatron is written. He wasn't "Mary sued" he's a flawed character and everyone points that out. Throughout the entire franchise he has always been a redeemable character. He was redeemed in the prime show, in war for cybertron for a bit, and even the bayverse movies would have had him redeemed if the 3rd movie ending wasn't leaked (actually interesting thing that he was supposed to be redeemed but because the ending was leaked it was changed) and there's an ENTIRE SHOW (Earthspark) where he is actively getting redeemed.

You know what's the most hilarious? I have an academic degree in media (culture, communication, all this shit), which makes me more media-literate than you and most people you interact with. And Megatron's "redemption arc" is STILL shit to me. To me, who loves villains, glorious bastards, atoning sinners, and byronic heroes.

But you know, you can't just throw a trope or an archetype into your story. It has to fit. If you put a byronic hero in a sitcom, they'll be a walking joke. If you put a byronic hero in a story, taking place in a world, going through the consequences of a grievous war, and their struggles start pushing others' stories and trauma aside, and this hero happens to be an ex-villain… Man, that may result in a tremendous suck.

James Roberts loved his Megatron. He loved him to the point that he made his Optimus Prime the dumbest fool in the known universe. The most unwise in the worst way. He ruined the whole idea of Optimus and Megatron knowing each other, as enemies, the best. One of the best tropes, older than balls but still working. That's why I consider MTMTE Megs a Marty Sue. He's the author's favorite boy, and everything gets sacrificed for his glory.

I'm not gonna analyze the whole list of Megatron's redemptions to show you that things can be done differently. If you're not completely taken by a fictional apple of your eye, you'll see. In Prime, his redemption is put at the end of the show, after his bad religious experience, as "and it was whole another story". Funny, they did it better than some old "serious" media. I can recall reading M. Corelli's "The Sorrows of Satan", where the main character, after slipping from the hands of Satan himself, just continued being a jerk that I really despised.

Ah, it's getting long. Tumblr is not a good place to learn fancy new words like "media literacy". It doesn't teach you how to use them properly. It's better for being a kinky freak, though.

Pav: Oh yeah, fashion show! -he claps his hands happily-

Miles went off to change, then Hobie came through the window: Sorry, I'm late, mates. -he looks around to find Miles- Where's Miles?

Gwen pour herself a glass of soda in her cup: He's changing. He's gonna show us his cosplay outfit for the next convention he's going with Ganke.

Pav nodded hugging his stuffed Chopper pillow: Yeah! I bet it's another One Piece cosplay.

Gwen: Ohh, I wonder who he'll be?

Hobie sat on the window seat: Then I'll sit here and wait for him.

Miles: Here I come! -He burst through his room cosplaying as Nico Robin before the time skip, wearing her iconic purple outfit- What do you think? I'm doing a bit cross dressing this time!

Gwen and Pav gasps and awed: Whoooaaa, that outfit is cute!

Miles noticed his boyfriend: Hey bae! Like my outfit for Anime convention? -He smirks doing his posed-

Hobie had a nosebleed. Pav freaks out: Ahh, someone find a tissue!

Miles: When you're a cosplayer, it's pretty common to dress up as a male or female character. Normally a lot of girls dressed up as boys for their BL ships. Sometimes there's femboys dressing up as cute popular anime girls. I wanted to give it a try! Also me Ganke were betting who would dress up as a girl and I lost, hehehe. -he rubs his neck-

Hobie's eyes darken being jealous: You and Ganke are going together... dressed like that?

Gwen sang: Somebody's jealous!

Miles pouts: Relax, Hobie. We're just cosplaying. Anyway, I got two other ideas. -he went out of the room to change to his other cosplay costumes-

Pav claps: Ohh, your going for that ship, huh?

Miles: We thought it was a good combo. Though, my thighs rub too much, I might need to wear some biker shorts.

Gwen giggles having a mischievous idea: Wow, you don't want the fans to see your panty shots? I heard a lot of dudes go around looking for cross dressing guys to capture them wearing sexy panties. -Hobie's body stood tensed-

Pav: Ew, people are gross.

Miles pouts: Well, I'm not dressing up to satisfy some weird fetish. I just want to dress up, it's an art form. Cosplaying is about being one with the character you love.

Gwen: Yeah, I get that, but if you wear biker shorts... those guys are gonna be pretty disappointed. -She said a bit persuasive- Imagine all those nerdy perverted weebs wanting their favorite character wearing sexy lace panty, and your just teasing them. They see your skirt and then flips it over to catch a glimpse. Hell, they might even harass you!

Hobie's eyes widen as he stood darkly: That's it. I'm going! -No one gets to fondle his Sunflower-

Miles blinks surprised: HUH! Your going? I thought you didn't like-

Hobie cut him off as he went up to face his boyfriend: No one gets to touch my Sunflower! -His eyes serious- I'm going.

Miles groans: Ohhh, I see. I can take care of myself!

Pav: Oh, I wanna go! I always want to go to a convention!

Gwen: Looks like there's no choice! -She smirks widely- We're going!

Miles: You guys don't even like anime conventions!

Hobie scoffs: So? I'll protect you! I highly doubt Ganke can.

Miles huffs: Fine! But All of you guys are cosplaying as One Piece characters, it's only fair!

Gwen smirks: Ha, I already started watching it so I know who I'm going to be.

Pav nodded: ME TOO!

-At the Anime convention-

Gwen smiles widely dressed as Yamato: Ha! This is gonna be fun! Wow, look at everyone dressing up. -She spotted people dressing up as the Spider Band-

Pavitr dressed up as Chopper: Wow, look at the huge balloon! This is so cool. This convention is different from Anime NYC!

Ganke fixes his glasses dressed up as Sanji: Heh, this convention is new, and much bigger than Anime NYC. Apparently, this one will have many special events and many sponsors.

Gayatri giggles dressed as Deer Mink: I feel so cute! Thanks for inviting me! -She looks at Miles as she wear her own multi-verse watch Hobie made for her-

Miles dressed up as Nico Robin in her purple cowgirl outfit wearing a sparkle purple cowgirl hat: No problem. Luckily I was able to hack and get more tickets without problems. I'm glad the outfit fits you.

Gayatri giggles: I feel cute! -She hugs Pav's arm- Cute couple!

Miles smiles at his boyfriend: What do you think, bae? You like your outfit?

Hobie stood wearing a muted green Kimono with three fake samurai swords dressing up as Zoro. His demeanor really pulled the look off even if he didn't have green short hair. His wicks still bouncy and free forming with light spray dye paint on the tips. HIs punker aesthetics remain on the outfit showing off his edgy style: Hmmm, I should've spray painted this robe.

Miles pouts: Bae, I made that costume! Don't ruin it! Besides, you already look so cool. Everyone is watching you since you enter. Heck, they are taking pictures! -He pointed as people were trying to take photos of Hobie in his Zoro costume- You pulled it off better than me!

One girl came up to Miles: Can we get a photo of you, Robin! You look so cute!

Miles saw his friends: You guys go on ahead! I'll pose a bit.

Gwen: Alright. Come on, guys! Pav wants to see the limited Edition Cat ears!

Pav: Yay! I want the pink one!

Hobie stood with his arms crossed until he noticed another group of people coming up to him: OMG! Can we get pictures! You look so badass!

Hobie: Fine!

The group: HE EVEN ACT SO COOL LIKE ZORO!

Miles stood taking pictures being overwhelmed with so many. It's more people than last time. Cross dressing as Nico Robin had more of popularity that he didn't expect: Heh. Heh. -Nervously posing not sure how long to keep up. He was unaware of a guy behind him-

Hobie's spider sense tingling quickly looking over at a random guy about to get close to Miles: Huh! -His eyes widen-

Miles looks over his shoulder spotting Hobie quickly stopping a random pervert that was about to lift Miles' purple skirt up: Huh, Hobie?

The group gasps: Wow, he even move fast! Dude is actually Zoro!

Hobie tightly grab the guy's hand almost threatening to break it: I would think twice, if I were you, mate?

The guy stood scared and nervous by Hobie's dark glare. Miles turns around being in shock: Ew, what da fuck, man! -He became grossed out by the pervert-

The creep: Hey, let me go!

Miles tug on Hobie's sleeve: Don't hurt him, Hobie. He look like he learns his lesson. Let security handle him.

Hobie scowls: Fine. -he lets go of the creep once a security guard came to take the man away.-

Then the group went to the two to take photos. Miles posed with Hobie: Don't we make a cool duo! -He winks at his punk boyfriend- Do you like cosplaying? -His eyes sparkles knowing Hobie enjoys being Zoro-

Hobie blushes: No. -he lies-

Miles giggles: Awe, well too bad. I like it, it's so much fun cosplaying with you. -He was about to pose by himself until he felt Hobie's hand grabbing his own-

Hobie holds Miles' hand: I don't hate it as long I'm with you. -He let out a small smile at his Sunflower-

hear me out, I think it would have been very interesting and also very fitting for apollo to.... Kind of end up becoming a control freak.

dude's life is pure chaos, he basically can't know what is going to happen to him the next day, because he has had a... Very Unusual set of circumstances in life from his very early childhood, his whole life he's being plummeted from Big Event to Big Event sometimes without even understanding what the events are and often ends up losing something over the course of it or gets hurt, aa4 is basically him being used as a pawn in someone else's game and gnawing his way through it all, trying to piece something together from the occasional things he Perceives through the web of lies, the bigger picture is always being hidden from him somehow, but he fights his fights from the small ones to the big one, and unlike with phoenix, there are no specific people he's fighting For, he's fighting for a mere chance to see a glimpse of the truth. stuff just happens to him and he has little to no control over it. he's being manipulated, lied to and used (by kristoph and phoenix alike) and at some point, he's going to understand it. and here's the thing, I don't think he would just learn to live with it because he somehow has more important things in life. he's still working for phoenix, phoenix can still pull anything he wants out of his ass at any time and for example suddenly reveal he's been unknowingly uncovering a web of organized crime and now all of the waa is being hunted down or something. as long as apollo continues not having a lick of control over his life, he will probably continue to suffer. I don't really love what aa6 did with apollo, but aa5 is a good enough continuation of his trust issues and trying to have control - in his arc where he tries to figure out what happened with clay and athena and ends up picking up some of kristoph's mannerisms and talking points. he did end up learning some form of lesson on trusting his coworkers and friends more and did end up learning that athena wasn't guilty, but honestly? I don't personally think it's going to be it. because aa5 has kept apollo busy enough not to notice it, but phoenix is still there and still a ticking time bomb. apollo can Try, try his best to trust him, but he actually has no reason to. phoenix didn't talk to him about what happened, doesn't seem to regret what he did, can perfectly safely do it again (see the beginning of turnabout revolution, and yes, he was being blackmailed and it's completely different, but it continues the pattern of apollo being no more than a pawn in his game) and is still to this day hiding a very important piece of information from apollo! :) (and trucy.) (the fact that they're siblings)

so what I think aa6 accidentally got right is that... apollo should leave waa. HOWEVER, not to come into his own, not to continue the legacy of a father this game invented for him, not to fix a laughably broken legal system in tandem with his sibling - he should actually do it for the simple reason of having control over his life. although... Should is a bad word to use here.

he actually Shouldn't because there is trucy, and athena he's just becoming friends with, and he shouldn't leave his country forever because mikeko is there, klavier is there, he would sabotage a lot of his personal relationships doing this - all things considered it's really far from a good decision, but he could still do it. not just because of phoenix, - we as the audience have been inside this man's head and know he's not nearly that much of a problem, - maybe, because of kristoph, whom he visited in prison during aa5 and who now wants him to keep in contact to try to continue to control him. maybe, because he has suspicions it was actually trucy who forged that ace, and trucy was much more in on the whole thing in aa4 than she was letting on. maybe, because he thinks he doesn't deserve klavier and tries to remove himself from his life because he thinks he knows what's best for him better than klavier does. and I'm aware almost all of these things are communicateable through and that would be the Right Thing TM to do - but who is going to communicate to apollo normally, stop lying to him, hiding things from him and leaving him out of things? he has never been inside another person's head and he doesn't know the bigger picture the way that we do - he is trapped within the small scope of his own life, sometimes glimpsing the bigger truth, and over his own life - he Wants To Have Control.

using kristoph's methods Has gotten him somewhere, hasn't it? phoenix's narrative-wide dirty game Has gotten him the result he wanted, hasn't it? all of these culprits Have been able to deceive the court for varying periods of time, haven't they? in apollo's eyes, being a control freak and having everything under your thumb... Works. it's the only thing that actually works. it's the only path where you don't ultimately end up being someone's victim.

what I'm saying is, I want this man to get one final drop of worse before he gets better. I want everything that happened to him and went unresolved to get to him. I want this man to make mistakes, to sabotage his relationships, to hurt people in his despair, to choose the wrong path for a change instead of being right in a way that does not matter and being fine in a way that doesn't make it better. I want that Catharsis.

I think apollo deserves to become a little bit of a control freak.

my favourite theme in orv is definitely communication. jang hayoung's quote about writing on the wall that divides us, even if the other person will never see it, because its so important to leave something, lives in my mind at all times. i love so much how orv hammers us over the head with the fact that true communication is impossible but we have to keep trying anyway!!! as someone who definitely had that whole 'ill never be entirely known by another human being so whats the point' crisis when i was younger, seeing the characters in orv going 'the point is that we tried!!'' soothed something in me.

for my favourite arc i have to go with the 1863rd one. the reveal of han sooyoung's avatar, meeting the jihye + namwoon + hyungsung of that arc, yoo jonghyuk eating dirt - whats not to love! seriously though, the scene where kim dokja lured yoo jonghyuk into regression depression and then used his power over him to make him sleep and have happy thoughts - ough. he just wants him to be happy :(. and then obviously 1863!han sooyoung and kim dokjas interactions drive me crazy insane. theyre such freaks (affectionate). i know their smoke breaks together had such crazy energy. and! its the most direct clash of reader vs writer interpretation of a story that we see so interesting!. also when yoo jonghyuk decides he wants to live and cries out in that tiny voice because he sees the 3rd/1865th turn - DUDE. DUDE. when i say i was SOBBING!!!! and when kim dokja decided he wanted to try and stay in that turn because 'this too is a story'.....god theres just so much in that arc that drives me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay so I just read the new Sonic IDW issue #56 and there's so much about this issue I love but there are some particular panels I wanna talk about.

Putting it under the cut for spoilers. Also cause it's a long post cause I have thoughts.

SO first off Sonic is just having a bad time this whole arc, dude cannot catch a break lately I swear.

Like poor guy is having the worst week. Stating the obvious, but like he's in so much pain here and idk how many volts Surge just pumped into him but I'm gonna assume it was probably enough to kill anyone who's not Sonic. (Yay for plot armor lol). But seriously he should probably be dead but he's also got like basically over maxed stats in constitution so he can take hits that'd kill others but that doesn't mean it's not gonna hurt like hell.

Also look at Tails he's so worried and tries to dive after him but just wasn't quite fast enough. Plus look how Sonic landed...facing Tails when he first started falling he was face down. Meaning he had turned around mid fall and tried to reach out to grab hold of Tails' hand. The last thing he saw then before getting hit with fuck you levels of volts was Tails' terrified face just above him.

Which also means that Tails just saw all that up close. He was probably hovering just over Sonic based on the panel where he tried to catch him but couldn't do anything to help without also getting hit with Surges electricity too. So Tails more than likely just had to hover there and watch all that happen.

Side note: I also find it very interesting that it was a combination of his biggest fear and Tails' that resulted in this. Like yeah that was the whole point of Surge and Kit, they were made to prey on each of their biggest fears. But the fact that it was only Sonic that took the worst of the hits from the both I feel like says something. And the fact that Tails kept being able to talk down Kit (water) from attacking while Sonic couldn't do the same with Surge (lightning). Idk what but there's something there to look into and think about.

Moving back to the panels though:

When Tails can finally reach Sonic after the bath from hell he is freaking out and concerned. He's scared for Sonic to the point he can't even form a complete sentence just pure panic mode is on. And Sonic, who's in all kinds of pain right now, sees Tails freaking out and being worried about him and immediately makes a joke to try and calm Tails down.

Sonic just ignores how awful he feels to try and reassure his little brother. Cause he knows what Tails just saw and wants/needs him to calm down and Sonic does that the only way he knows how, joking around with Tails.

Now these next panels make me go absolutely feral

Sonic sees Tails get hit on the head from a huge rock and knocked out and his panic protective big brother mode instincts get kicked into overdrive. Sonic is clearly freaking out I mean he's even stuttering with the stress and panic of it all. Aka he is in 'no thoughts just panic and run' mode.

(I'm guessing too that the wisps are way too drained to do anything at all after all that, heck some of them aren't even floating)

Also he's repeating to himself over and over "I've got this". He's just trying so hard to get them all out of there and with Tails, seemingly down for the count, Sonic only has himself to save his little brother, the wisps, and himself. He has to "got this" or they're all done for. So he has to keep reassuring himself that he can save them cause there is no other option and no one else there to help.

To top it all off he's not at 100%, he just had a fight with Metal, then Surge, then some spicy bath water, then about to be Metal again and now he's fighting a collapsing building cause of Kit. He hasn't had a breather in like days now in this arc.

But then the next panels happen:

Look at Sonic's grip in that first panel, he's only got two fingers still griping when he's first grabbed it, barely, with his whole hand. He's about to slip but he's trying to hard to hold on with just those two fingers he's shaking cause he refuses to let anything bad happen to Tails on his watch. (Plus you know also his own life and the wisps, but he would 100% sacrifice himself in a heartbeat if that would do anything to save the rest of them)

Which makes me love Tails' iron grip shooting up and grabbing hold right next to his shaking hand so much. Just like the symbolism of it all just to begin with, Sonic can do a lot of things but when he literally, and figuratively, is losing his grip of the situation Tails has got them. Tails just once again swooping in last second to save Sonic is such a little badass moment, these last few issues have just been feeding Tails fans with good content I swear. They really let Tails keep being the one to save Sonic and show off how much Sonic needs him just as much as Tails need Sonic.

Just that quote from Ian Flynn again "sonic needs tails and that’s a cosmic truth"

Tails reassuring Sonic that "we've got this" is such a sweet moment. After all that panic Sonic just went through trying to save them he gets the reassurance that Tails has his back just as much as he has Tails'.

Also look at Sonic's face when he's looking at Tails he loves his little brother so much.

That little "yeah" he says too really just feels like a loaded statement other than just agreeing with Tails. I think he has that split moment of "what ifs" going through his head when he says that. Like yeah they're safe thanks to the fact Tails woke up. But what if he didn't, Sonic knows he wasn't gonna be able to save them on his own in this situation.

Now Sonic trusts and relies on Tails but in moments of panic when Tails in danger and protective older brother instincts kick in I think Sonic does also forget just how capable Tails is. Not that Sonic thinks less of Tails in any way, that's not what I mean at all, just that he gets to focused on keeping Tails safe he forgets Tails is very capable in pretty much every situation.

These last panels though are so good too:

I think that a combination of everything with this whole situation is why Sonic looks beyond pissed in this panel.

Eggman's old ally tortured, experimented on, and brainwashed a bunch of kids. The same guy that tried to kidnap Tails.

Surge had a mental breakdown and might be dead for all Sonic knows thanks in part to Eggman's machine which gave her a power high and basically overloaded her.

Eggman attacked them the second she was no longer a threat even with a truce that was supposed to last till they were out of there.

Because of that Kit destroys the building with all of them inside and Tails gets knocked out and almost killed right along side Sonic all cause Eggman couldn't keep his end of the bargain.

I think next time Sonic see's Eggman he's not gonna play so nice and quipy like he normally does. This may have been the straw that breaks the camels back with his attitude towards Eggman. Sonic won't kill him but he's not gonna pull punches either from now on.

And Tails looks so concerned after that glare Sonic gave. He knows Sonic better than anyone else and knows how mad he actually is. Even though Sonic is down playing his anger with is words afterwards a bit, seemingly letting it go, Tails knows him well enough to pick up on the fact that Sonic's still angry. And yeah Sonic backs off and leaves but even walking away he looks pissed off. (Tails just looks tired walking away and the wisps look traumatized, bless them they need a nap after being trapped and used like that)

Any way that's just my thoughts on the new issue. Let me know what ya'll think.

why it’s hard for me to have a favorite sbg character.

spoilers (but nothing from fast pass bc I haven’t read it!)

this was a thought I had last night. I love the cast. All of them. It’s hard to have a strong opinion though of them because they are still getting development in the story. With there being specific things that have been revealed, there’s like.. some spotlights.

of course we have Ashlynn’s development as we can obviously see her arc of her opening up to the group. She is the main character so of course we’d see the most development centered around her. Ofc ofc. We know the most about her as well.

We also have Tyler who was always defensive of his family being amplified due to the dangers. I wish to see more outside him being one half of a twin and the blunt sort of aggressive guy. It’s cool that he works hard around the house though, because that part of him trying to work harder and help out more was relatable to me.

Ben’s whole thing is so much insight into his development. It feels like he does care very much for the group as well even though he can’t say it. I can only worry about what would happen if the whole anger phantom thing took hold of him…

Aiden…???? His development I guess mostly comes from the shipping. I’d like to see him receive some more development that shows more to him outside “oh look at this little happy freaky dude Ashlynn get your freak on a leash pls” like what has value to him considering he’s rich so price value isn’t as much compared to his value of the people in the group..???

Taylor… Taylor.. Taylor.. my bbg. I love her, don’t get me wrong. Her positivity is brightening since everyone else is afraid (Logan mostly) or aggressive as hell. Unfortunately she’s the underdeveloped twin. We’ve seen more of Tyler’s reactions to everything and seen how Taylor cares so much about him… but in the future I’d hope she gets a chance to have development that’s unrelated to her family. She’s… augh.. she’s a lover but she sure as hell have more potential.

Logan. Oh boy. He’s currently in his development to become braver. It could become totally well written or cringe. It depends on how it’ll be. I’d say a good step is when he shot the phantom though. That was actually a good scene to have him spotlight for a moment. The whole ‘oh look at him helping his bully’s next victim out’ felt kinda.. eh.. but I think it’s heading in a good direction.

notice how I’m talking about this like it’s the start of something..?? Almost as if we are reaching a rising action. the characters still have so much room for their character to shine through. I can’t really decide to hate any of them when we’ve seen maybe 20% of their potential. However.. it’s hard for me to pick a favorite either.

they are each so interesting in their own ways and I think it’s amazing how differing each one is.

to the point where I can’t pick a favorite. The cast is so tied together.

i know it wasn’t an exact parallel but… the dark warm lighting?? the soft discussion?? the Moment (kiss/hug) in the exact same spot between the table and island?? tommy/eddie leaving with advice to call eddie/tommy?? the final shot of buck letting out a sigh of relief??

i haven’t had the chance to think about the rest of the season yet lmao but in my opinion, last nights episode wasn’t bad for buddie i don’t think? there were lots of lines that could be revisited in the context of canon buddie if they choose to go there, like bobby’s advice, the catholic guilt, “i wish i could help” lmaooooo. and the interviews too! ryan basically saying women are all eddie knows but he thinks eddie will start exploring what he doesn’t?? lou saying it was meant to be eddie/tommy?? so queer eddie was/is on the table, the writers can see that a queer arc would lend well to his character/storyline just like we can??

slightly unrelated, but people are already saying that ryan is against kissing boys lol so that’s why it was bucktommy instead… 1. we definitely know that’s not true and 2. he’s right that a queer arc wouldn’t fit eddie right now? starting s7 he was with a woman but buck was single, so it made sense to be buck even though i wish with every fiber of my being that they had still gone with eddie haha

idk i’m always gonna be hopeful for buddie until the series finale and even then i’m still gonna ship them (save me fix it fics). but i do not understand people closing on buddie, it really feels like they’re keeping the possibility more open than they ever have before for their relationship to change in the future ❤️

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is you because I think that was the only ask I got about the loft scene paralleling the Bucktommy kiss and I legit was like "dude the anon was right" and had to race here to check kspsksoaksokas I really didn't think they were gonna be as on the nose as they were but they really were and I'm still ???? about because the whole you're not sure of your feelings thing with Maddie and everything with Tommy, Buck still not knowing what he wants but the VERY obvious parallels between both scenes are gonna drive me crazy lol please come back and tell me the thoughts once you figure them out, I'm genuinely curious to see what you think because you did get the vibe right and vibes are the thing that keep confusing me tbh

And honestly, Ryan acts like his main purpose in life is to be allowed to get paid to make out with Oliver, what do you mean he doesn't want to kiss boys? I don't think switching this arc around would work as well as it does for Eddie, I think realistically, freshly single Eddie would be a lot more freaked out if a guy he's known for a few weeks just kissed him, I don't think the progression we are seeing with Buck would work the same way because Eddie sexuality is set up differently, Buck has always been more casual about the physicality of a relationship, we literally haven't even seen Eddie kiss someone besides Shannon until last night. I know it wouldn't be a direct one on one switch, but I think letting Buck figure out with someone else's help while letting Eddie think about what it could mean for him that Buck is a guy and he's dating a guy, and he's dating a guy Eddie has a lot in common with that could get Eddie to be like "huh, maybe they do have the right idea" and look into the possibility of him being attracted to men on his own will makes a lot more sense, if that's the thing direction this is going. It was the impression I got from Eddie's contemplative *huh* upon finding out Tommy is gay, because considering how the show established how similar Eddie and Tommy are, to have Eddie be a little "oh i didn't know this was an option for us" even more since they are finally adding the religious trauma angle to canon, like, we knew, but good to know Eddie knows now too, could lead to something interesting. It's like we've all been saying, Buck's needs to figure out he's into men but Eddie needs to figure out he's into Buck. Buck is already there, and Eddie could trip into the realization whenever they want him to. Dude has been there ever since the end of season 5, Eddie knows how to soul search, he just needs the right trigger. This might be it. This feels like it could be it. It's getting too close to the point for them not to get there. All I know is I will be on the boat until the show ends and then stay on the boat because what if there's a revival and they suddenly decide it's time to make them canon yk? No one will ever take the hope away from me.

Poipole trilled, floating around his head.

“I thought you wanted to be caught-”

He was interrupted by a rumble that almost shook the whole school.

He got off his bed, “Stay here. Kay, buddy?”

Silver leaned on his boyfriend’s shoulder. “Ugh, how long was I asleep?”

“Like 60% of the flight.”

The two stepped out of the jet. “Is this what hangover feels like,” Silver complained.

“You might be actually hungover-”

“Gladion!” Drayton casually slung his arm around the blonde’s shoulder, much to the protest of Silver. “Glads, Gladdy, Gladiator-”

Gladion sighed, “What do you want.” He shook his head at the elder, “We’ve literally been here for a few minutes. Arc,” He pointed up, where the Aether private jet still hovered.

“Gladinator. My dude. Iiiiii desperately need to talk to you.” The duo glanced at Silver, “In private.”

Gladion’s eyes narrowed, “About what, exactly?”

“Uh, come with me and I’ll tell you…?”

Gladion rolled his eyes and glanced at Silver, who nodded tiredly. “I’ll drop off our stuff, or whatever.”

Gladion reached for the handle of Drayton’s unlocked door, which he quickly blocked.

“I need you to promise that you won’t freak.”

Gladion raised his eyebrows, “Okay, I guess?”

“Sorry.” Drayton shrugged, flopping onto one of the beanbags, gesturing for Gladion to sit with him. “It was… for the greater good.”

“What’re you even going on about-”

“You can come out now, lil buddy!”

Poipole floated after the bathroom, perching on Drayton’s head and clutching his hair like a flabébé with their flower.

Gladion just sat, his jaw hanging open. “Where’d you get that?”

“Oh, they just popped out of a portal in the ‘rarium-”

“They what??” Gladion abruptly sat up, “This is bad. Bad, bad, bad. If one portal broke open, then more could follow so easily…”

“Dude-”

“This is terrible. I’ve got to let mother know-”

“Dude. Gladion.” He waited for the other boy to turn to him, “That was weeks ago.”

Gladion’s eyes widened further. “Weeks? Did anything happen…?”

“Nope. Just a tiny lil portal and them.” They trilled when Gladion glanced at them.

Gladion frowned in thought as they sat in silence for a few minutes.

“Yeah. I was expecting that answer.” He grinned as he stood and stretched. “Oh, ‘nother thing.” He pointed towards his pile of pokeballs, “You know how to catch ‘em?”

Gladion nodded, pulling out a beast ball from his belt. “Practically impossible without one of these.” He offered it to Drayton, who grabbed it.

“C��mon, buddy.” He tossed the ball in the air, which poipole swirled into, landing back in Drayton’s hand with a satisfying click.

“Get your phone out.” Drayton did as commanded, and Gladion dropped him a few files. “That’s everything the database had on their line.”

“Line?” Drayton skimmed one of the documents, “Poipole, huh?”

“Mmm.” Gladion grinned, “You got lucky. The only thing I really remember about them is that they’re artistic.”

“I’d know about that,” He glanced at the covered wall.

Gladion sighed. “If the portal brought a kartana or celesteela, I don’t know what would’ve happened to the terrarium.”

The duo sat back down as Drayton pocketed the beast ball.

“You won’t mind me checking in on them every now and then…?”

“Nah. It’s fine.”

Gladion glanced at his phone, “So… is that everything?”

“Uhhh, a few more things.”

“Course there is.” Gladion sat expectantly when Drayton didn’t move, “Well?”

“Hold on. ‘M tryin’ to remember where I put it.” He sat for a few more seconds, before going to a shelf and pulling out a file folder. “So, Y’know how we’re down an elite four member? Hugh was your buddy, right?”

Gladion nodded. “What does this have to do with me, though?”

“Wellll,” He gestured to the folder. “Your battle data from last year was off the charts. Amarys chose you specifically as the next candidate.”

“Huh.” Gladion flipped through the folder, a small smile on his face.

“It was you or Silver. But take it from the Drayster,” He grinned, “I think you’re a better candidate.”

Gladion placed the folder back down. “You know what? I’ll do it.”

“Really? I thought’d be harder to convince you.”

Gladion shrugged. “Been itching for some battling lately.”

“Cool then.” Drayton grinned. “Well get everything sorted out, then!”

Neither spoke for a few seconds.

“There’s one more thing.”

Gladion waited.

“So. You’ve got a cousin right?”

“I don’t know who that is.”

“Well, uh.” Gladion thought again. “Perrin’s too old for you, I think. I’ve also heard rumors that she’s with that Kalos gym leader-”

“Don’t know of her either.”

He waited for Gladion to process. “…Arven?”

When Drayton didn’t respond, Gladion laughed. “Him? You would’ve had a better chance with any of my other cousins.”

“…I know.” He slid down in the beanbag, placing his head in his hands.

“That’s in addition to the fact that he’s straight.”

“I knowwwww…” Drayton slid farther down.

“How’d you even meet?”

“Rotomblr.”

Gladion paused, before sighing, “Tell me what you see in him. Is this just a crush or-?”

“He’s genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Well, not met- you know what I mean.” He smiled sappily to himself, “He always wants to help everyone, but is adorably awkward and humble. But his temper, his snark, his passion, his drive. That’s what I really like about him. How he can be so… powerful.”

“…Ew.”

“I didn’t mean it in that way and you know it.” Drayton laughed, “‘Sides, you and Silver are probably way-”

Gladion shoved him lightly, laughing genuinely. “Shut up.”

Drayton grinned as he continued, “That’s in addition to his regular ol’ hotness, though. Like, he’s smoking. Sizzling. I’ve never seen someone who can be rugged and pretty at the same time. And have you seen how muscular he is? His biceps-”

“Pfft- that’s enough.” Gladion smiled. “You’ve convinced me.”

Gladion only shook his head, smiling sadly, “You probably know him better than I do at this point. Maybe I can give you his number-”

“Uh, no need.” Drayton awkwardly adjusted his collar, “Got that already. We chat a lo- every once in a while.”

“What?” Gladion frowned. “That guy. Me, Sarah and the rest of the family haven’t spoken with him in ages…”

Drayton didn’t know if he should mention the video call they had, so he didn’t. He stared into his lap. “Maybe it’s because with you guys he feels like there’s some sort of expectation to live up to, but with me, we just talk. Maybe he’s scared that you won’t recognize him after he’s grown and changed. Maybe he’s scared that you’ll hate him after all the time, and he feels alone because no one knows what his experience is like, fully. Maybe-”

“Dude.” Gladion patted Drayton on the shoulder, and smiled reassuringly. “I don’t think you need my advice at this point.”

He sat up and moved to the door.

“You want the posters back?” Drayton haphazardly called out.

Gladion peeked under the corner of one at the paint, “Nah. Just keep em.”

LIKE LIKE the first time it happens it s like he hasn’t used his powers at ALL in like years but one time mi-ae gets into trouble and someone kind of starts to threaten her and suddenly he uses just a little bit of psychic power to freeze the guy and be like hey dude. stop. AAAAAAHHH !!!!! literally thinking abt this in real time oh this post is going to be an essay. and then he starts using his powers to like. catch her when she trips or send a note across their windows or silly little things as he gets more comfortable using it again. ugh. i love them. and her genuine lack of fear of him and appreciation for who he actually is makes him fall in love like in the regular series OTL

and obv we don’t know shit about whatever the hell happened between them back in the country side STILL UGHHH but i would think it would b something like. they are like playing together and he’s using his powers comfortably and freely in front of her and it’s such a bonding moment god i love them <33333333!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and like in the future he likes to float her around to tease her (she also loves it and requests it because she gets to be taller than him and fly like an airplane LOL)

I really love the way that shows like Our Flag Means Death and Good Omens and The Righteous Gemstones interact with queerness.

I love how it is just part of these shows, that characters can be queer and just exist as they are and we never need a PSA about it.

Good Omens had two lesbians, a nonbinary demon, two male presenting entities who are madly in love with each other, a shop owner with a partner who presents femme.

Righteous Gemstones essentially had a whole arc of BJ who is straight and cis becoming comfortable with his femininity and wearing pink and other colors and clothing styles his family made him feel like a freak for but Judy and her family makes him feel safe to be his true self. Kelvin and Keefe had whatever they had going on and nobody in the family questioned it or judged just judged Keefe for being a weird goth dude. Kelvin and Keefe kissing wasn’t a big deal for the others, they just now accept he’s part of their family.

Our Flag Means Death has had tons of poly relationships, we have Ed and Stede together, Pete and Lucius are engaged, we have whatever Izzy is doing with Fang and Frenchie, we had Jim and Olu and now Jim and Archie and maybe Olu, we have Jim a nonbinary person. We have so many queer characters and romances.

It is all so casual and there. There is no speech, there are no scenes and episodes explaining why somebody is gay or trans, they just are and it is so comforting snd beautiful.

Thoughts on Volume 9? I really could've done without Jaune during that whole arc, and just let the Rusted Knight be someone from the Evr After. I want to see more of the title characters, and not a secondary protag get his metaphorical dick sucked.

I want to see more of Ruby than I do Jaune.

(Also, it was a dick move of Winter to look right at Jaune, and not help him get to safety.)

Personally, I don’t think Jaune should’ve fallen in with RWBY, and this is for a few reasons.

1. The dude gets a lot of exposure during most of the volumes, definitely feels like he’s THE main side character at this point, and this isn’t getting into the common debate on if he’s Miles’ self insert or not. It would be nice to get a break from Jaune, mostly so that both sides of the fandom can calm down about him. Also, side point to the Jaune thing, it would've been nice if he actually brought up the fact that he "had" to kill Penny (had is in quotation marks because it feels like to strong a word for what happened during that volume.) Hell, have it be part of his dialogue when he's shouting at Ruby, let that be the final straw that breaks our hero, to learn how her BFF died.

2. I really think it should have been somebody else from the main group who was forced to grow up in the Ever After. In my personal opinion it should have been either Ren, Nora, Oscar, or Emerald. Ren/Nora for arguably the same reason, Nora wanted to figure out who she is without him, and this situation is a freaking monkey law of that, either she thinks he’s dead or has been given plenty of time to find the answer to her question. If she fell in, suddenly she has all this time to find herself, let her grow as a person while also figuring out just how much she does love Ren and misses him. If Ren falls in, he now has to deal with being all alone along with his brand new semblance, seeing all the different emotions of the strange creatures around him, making this whole experience even more confusing as he has to deal with this alien culture.

Emerald because this could all be her way of trying to show that she has become a better person, her guilt over the fall of Beacon, making her guarding the paper people even more poignant since she wants to make up for who she was, not wanting to be like Cinder ever again. Like just imagine her trying to keep the paper people alive, acting a little crazy as she calls them Penny, Hazel, or Pyrrha, all people that she has either helped get killed or watched die for her, she's just trying so dang hard.

And for Oscar, this would be the first time where he’d be someplace where Oz is just as clueless as he is, the two of them being on even footing as they explore this new land. With them being in the Ever After, we can finally get a conclusion to the convoluted mess that is the whole reincarnation thing, which is a rant for another day. Also, it would be cute to see Ruby's reaction to a grown up Oscar, I'm sure it would be adorable.

With Jaune, it just feels like we're getting kind of a rehash of his arc during the fourth and fifth volume, where he's trying to process his grief and trauma, only to channel it in some pretty self destructive ways instead, until he gets better through the power of friendship. We've done this song and dance before with him.

Now for my real thoughts on the season, it had some decent ideas, just poor build up to them. Like I love the whole thing with talking to a part of themselves that they don't want to face when they go into the smoke, love that trope, but all the problems that the girls face don't feel like they were actual problems. (Mostly Blake's dumb ass thing, "Am I a person or an animal?" When has that ever been a thing for this fictional race?!) Could've done a sweet callback to Volume 2 by having them face their old dreams, Weiss becoming the head of the SDC, Yang doing this for the thrill and adventure, Blake trying to help the Faunus, Ruby becoming this fairytale hero, let these be what they have to face. Weiss, Yang, and Blake can all see how far they have grown, seeing how they have become better than those old dreams, that sort of thing. All while Ruby just gets asked "What happened to you?" or something, just another part of that is cracking under the pressure.

But yeah, most of the ideas just didn't feel they were implemented all that well. I think it's just another example of something that CRWBY could have foreshadowed better overall, heck, even just having someone reading The Rusted Knight would have been a pretty easy way of doing it, like during the montage of good deeds they do in Atlas, maybe Yang is reading to a bunch of kids or something. Would've been sweet.

Galactik Football season 3 rewatch, eps 10 - 12

Episode 10:

So we open up with Yuki getting mad at Micro-Ice and thinking Zoleen is his girlfriend, and Mice is dumb enough to not reject that claim when she asks him directly if they're going out. He also barely acknowledges Yuki's birthday despite previously rehearsing this dramatic confession of love to her. Thran and Ahito are literally, and I mean literally the only Snow Kids that don't have any love drama going on (I know Mark's got something coming) and every single one has revolved around love triangles, whether misunderstood or not. I can't take this anymore, I'm at my limit.

Anyway, *hits play again*

Since when did this Cyclops dude have a wholeass funded show, when he wasn't even a proper journalist before?

Oh christ this is the start of the Sinedd parents arc isn't it. Holy shit they try to stuff so much into this season. But happy we finally got the backstory on Sinedd with him not being born on Akillian!

I can barely watch this segment holy shit it's just so awful (in universe, I mean, not the writing). Not just because I know they're con artists but it's so sudden, Hush Sharky making a whole spectacle of this on live TV in front of an audience and Sinedd had NO IDEA that he was going to meet his freaking PARENTS. WHO HE THOUGHT WERE DEAD ALL HIS LIFE. This emotional and insanely personal moment being used for entertainment fits with the corporate hellscape that the show takes place in, but what the hell. He has the full right to be pissed at Sharky.

Not the con artist parents running off immediately when the ground starts shaking 😭 Parents my ass

The little TV spots with Yuki and Mei talking about each other before the match are cute! Makes the world feel more lived in and gives us some more interactions between the girls, even if not directly face to face here

I like Mei berating Sinedd for taunting Yuki when she's injured but... girl. He was always like this. You knew this. Why are you surprised?? They never actually showed him becoming a better person, just that he suddenly liked Mei and convinced her to join the Shadows. And Mei does not strike me as a poor judge of character so why would she date him....?

Wow Elektras not letting Mei through to help her friend? Why? They were literally celebrating her birthday together tf??

Poor Yuki, what a shitshow of a match for her although she did score a goal (I'm guessing the Breath is more powerful than the Elektra's flux since she's running in to attack). Loved her lil' chat with Mei though, I will say this season gave us more of the girls in the team being friends which I really do appreciate.

Here for the other Shadows players cooing and awing at Sinedd with his parents, I want to see more of what the team dynamic is like since they seemed to welcome him quickly back in season 1

It's literally this season (I think?) that shows Sinedd was friends with D'jok when they were young kids! Maya hangs out with Mama Ice at the cafeteria as well, there's no way they've never interacted before!

Now to rant about the Ahito betrayal plot <3

Ok this how to beat Ahito thing is dumb from the get go. It's treated like some big secret and it would be a big betrayal to reveal it, but that's not how sports work. They could easily have figured out his weak points by just watching a load of videos of his saves, in fact they SHOULD have been doing this anyway – the best teams don't win just by playing their best, but by knowing their opponent's strengths and weaknesses and being able to exploit that! It's not dishonest it's just... how it works! Rocket was doing this back in season 1 when he was suggesting tactics!

So to treat it like a big betrayal to reveal something that's easily obtainable public knowledge is dumb. And also, they're treating this as if knowing a player's weakness is some magic key that means they can definitely beat him if they exploit it, which is... also not how sports work!! It's not like he'll definitely fail to save your shot if you hit in a certain way, and it's not like he can't adjust his play after you score a goal. It just.... it makes no sense!!

It was also kind of weird to hear D'jok talk about wanting to win honestly when he was fouling Warren last match and got scolded for disrespecting the game, they made it look like D'jok fully only cared about winning now, whatever the cost, but now suddenly he's having second thoughts and doesn't want to betray a team he's been shit-talking all this time?

I also don't like that what made him cave in the end was mind control, it takes away a lot of accountability. It also would have fit more for D'jok to continue doing anything it takes to win, so he can realise he's wrong later and that he's just been using that to run away from his feelings. As stupid as this “betrayal” is, it should have been his low point showing how far gone he is, his big mistake, that he can then work up from.

Workin on art at 5:30am and watching Vendetta, so to procrastinate even longer, here is:

Resident Evil Vendetta: Why Leon and Rebecca’s Positions Should Have Been Swapped

• Rebecca is not a damsel in distress please stop doing this to RE women (female characters in general, hate to be that guy), let Rebecca be the prodigious badass tyrant slayer she has been since day fucking one

• Leon’s entire arc would be improved in the way Chris’ sort of was if he was kidnapped and had time to think about who he is and why he’s come as far as he has, as well as accepting that he can’t always be the dashing hero and that sometimes he needs help too

• We could FINALLY re-explore the dynamic between Chris and Rebecca!! Don’t get me wrong, I love the relationship between Chris and Leon I love the part where they said “it’s gay sex Thursday” and then started making out on the chopper, but cmon. These were the ORIGINAL guys, the goobers, the oomfies, they were partners then and they could have been again

• We might have had more of a chance to catch up with what Rebecca has been doing all this time, we haven’t seen her since 0, or the stage play if you’re insane like I am, and I feel like we deserved to see her in action. It’s totally in line with her character to take more of a backseat to the action, having more of an interest in the science and medical aspects, that’s all good, but she’s still trained in combat and marksmanship. Can you imagine a scene of Rebecca showing off her skills, especially to Leon? Dude that would rock so unbelievably hard cmon.

• Chris has this continued theme in his life of losing people close to him and it reflects in the way he treats his partners/teams. This is just a flaw with the movie in general (which I continue to enjoy despite its. Yknow. Everything~), but we never got to see much of that. Obviously that whole theme was generally resolved in 5 and then continued into 6, but I feel like whether it’s Leon or Rebecca, Chris should have been, like. Way more freaked about it? Staying professional and all, but Jesus Christ man, you’re gonna exchange one liners and cool gun slow-no scenes with MCR over here in the hallway while you have less than 20 minutes to both SAVE and CURE someone who has been by your side for upwards of 20 years whom you have befriended and relied on numerous times??? Whatever! Whatever!

• Arias should have had a MUCH higher interest in obtaining Leon if he wanted his revenge plan work out. He’s already a suuuuper iffy character, I too would be mad if the government dropped a bomb on my wedding and killed almost everyone I held dear, but also I didn’t do arms dealing and bioterrorism so. Maybe reflect on that man. But anyway, the A-Virus already has a lot in common with the Plaga. Arias ABSOLUTELY could improve this connection via a sample of Leon’s blood and an examination of whatever’s left in his nervous system; if done right, this could have handled the virus nearly unstoppable. But instead, he opted to, uh…steal a woman that looks like his wife? Yeah, her blood with the antibodies made the virus stronger, but he had NO IDEA OF THAT. He totally lucked out there. Now, information about the Plaga would be easily attainable for a man of Arias’ profession and status among the underworld of crime or whatever, all that shit, and Leon’s name would absolutely be among that information. It’s just so much more convenient? Makes so much more sense?? Literally aids his evil plan???

I’m sure there’s more reasons I’m forgetting because the amount of times I’ve ranted about this is ridiculous, but like. Cmon cmon cmon I beg
