There’s been an electronic music renaissance in the last few years, and SFI Recording has been the epicenter of that. The circuital pulse emanating from the Pacific Northwest home base of Andrew Crawshaw’s record label can be felt in a visceral way from coast to coast. It’s building into something big, real, and beautiful. It’s the kind of electronic music you fall…

Well, it only took about two weeks of owning Strega plus 0-CTRL before I decided to complete the set and buy the 0-Coast (and to be clear, the plan was always to assemble the set). I thought I might wait a few months but...nah. I think of the thing as a single instrument (albeit one that can be split into several component pieces as desired), so I felt like I might as well learn it from the beginning as a set.
Also, I sold a Magic card worth the same amount as the open box model available that day at Detroit Modular and who am I to argue with the universe when it makes such a clear gesture?

Amazing write-up from the EFF on the legal ramifications of WotC revoking OGL 1.0a, which might actually give creators more legal flexibility on using WotC’s trademarks (in the US anyway):

New Music: Ritual Fade - Vibrations of Chance LP
Tap in with Redlands, CA musician and composer Ritual Fade. I got familiar with her music a couple of years ago and it’s definitely a vibe! Her new album, Vibrations of Chance, just dropped today and includes 10 tracks described as “dark and shimmering synths, heavy beats, and haunting vocal melodies.”
The project is all self produced and features RF on the vocals. I’ve yet to catch her live but hopefully soon. Maybe at Coachella if she ends up playing with my fam Beat Cinema at the campgrounds!
