Some thoughts about Kerry:
Spoilers ahead, needless to say.
1)
I saw a video comparing the two versions if Chippin' In (Kerry's vs. Johnny's) where someone in the comments suggested the reason Kerry leaned more mainstream rock is because he only wanted to make music for money. I completely disagree with this and here's why:
User Friendly was the last song Kerry put out before deciding he wasn't going to perform live/tour anymore and went into a deep depression. Looking up the lyrics, you can see he was becoming very distressed with the lack of control he had over his career, and the things he says in the song sound like a cry for help that wasn't received by listeners the way he had hoped. We never hear his version of the song, and I believe that is intentional. Vapid, loud, chaotic, almost over-stimulating laser-pop is such a huge juxtaposition to the lyrics, and yet it's the only version we get to hear. Clearly User Friendly meant a lot to him or I don't think he would have reacted the way he did; combined with the cover being done by a pop group groomed by the music industry to sell as many albums as possible, it all went against Kerry's original intent with the song. Then there's the story of how he wrote Bleed the Beat: he was working his ass off for people he couldn't stand and that song was his outlet during that time. He'd play until his fingers bled just to get his frustrations out. Music is his medium for release, just like it was for Johnny.
In Johnny's version of Chippin' In, the phrase "chipping in" has two meanings: getting your first implants, and, the same as our universe, helping out. Johnny's song uses both meanings interchangeably during the choruses, the verse before it dictating which definition is being used. Johnny's arm is (from what I can tell looking at the design) military issue. The song is both about the corpo military forcing him to get an implant, and also about believing he was doing the right thing when he joined by "helping out" the armed forces. Since, in this universe, militaries are owned and/or sponsored by corporations, Johnny views corporate jobs and military service to be the same level of morally wrong (The Ballad of Buck Ravers attests to this).
In terms of how the two songs compare, obviously Kerry's version of Chippin' In is meant to have more wide appeal. Not only are the lyrics more tame, mostly just talking about the implants themselves and only having one verse that even mentions anything "political", but I believe Kerry understood that the best way to get his music to the most listeners was to go for a more mainstream sound and universally relatable lyrics, so he toned it down. Everyone hates corpos, sure, but not everyone wants to bomb Araska HQ. This is probably a stretch, but we can see from the flashbacks that Kerry didn't have any implants during his time in Samurai, so maybe Johnny was like super opposed to implants after having one forced upon him, and Kerry's version of the song is kind of saying "hey if you want implants get implants, they make you look cool don't feel bad about it."
2)
I do support the idea that Kerry should have been bisexual like in the source material. I absolutely get that bi erasure is a big problem, ESPECIALLY with male characters. However, I respect that in the game you can only romance him with a masc V; I'm not going to mod him to he bi, I'm not gonna ship him with women. I see it the same way I see Cullen from DAI: he is canonically bisexual, just not attracted to my male Inquisitor (in Kerry's case, fem V). Maybe Kerry had such a traumatic divorce from his ex-wife that women just kinda scare him right now. We can see high heels and bras and blush littering his house, so we can assume that at the very least women are still getting naked for some reason or another at his parties. Maybe he prefers men romantically, or maybe he's just not ready to date women again, and we as players should respect that just like we would a real person.
3)
Kerry was 100% going to kill himself when you show up to his house. There are shards advertising robotic security systems in numerous places around his house (meaning he fired his human body guards), shards with negative reviews of his last album, there is only one camera and it is by the front gate (none inside the house), he gave his cleaner and cook "the day off" that very day, you see in emails that his ex-wife is giving him the option of all or nothing with custody (you take the kids or you don't get to see them), and he isn't enjoying making music anymore, his one passion in life. He had a gun with him in the bathroom, and I believe by the way his speech slurs and he makes the impulsive decision to get Samurai back together, that he is drunk for that entire scene and has a drinking problem. It is my opinion that the reason he doesn't reveal any of that to V is because he knows Johnny will hear it and judge him, call him weak, or make insensitive jokes like he does to V when he gives you the quest. The only time we see Kerry be somewhat vulnerable is 1. Over text when talking about the crazed fan, since he probably thinks Johnny can't see those (I believe he can) and 2. In the epilogue when Johnny has been removed from V's head (Kerry says he doesn't want to lose V, and during the credits he tells V he just wants their lives to be less hectic so they can spend more time together).
4)
It took me a couple playthroughs to warm up to Kerry, Panam is probably still my favorite romance, but I think Kerry might be the best romance option for a Skreetkid V. He perfectly embodies the plights of Night City at every income bracket: no matter where you are on the food chain, if you're not at the top, you're getting fucked over. He clearly likes living in comfort while still embracing his rebellious side from his youth. But now, he has the cushion of money and status to save him if things go tits up (when you get a wanted level in Westbrook district, close to North Oak, the officer on the police scanner says "I swear, if its Eurodyne again" suggesting that he is very reckless but hardly ever faces real consequences). Maybe he stays in his gilded cage because he fears facing real hardship on his own, without friends, without a support group, without Johnny. He has a strong sense of pride, though, and would never admit to needing Johnny, even if they were best friends. The way Kerry wants to show Johnny a riff he's been working on after the concert, only to be disappointed when V takes over again, I think it really shows that as much as they disagreed, their friendship held the band together.
5)
I don't remember if Johnny hints at it or I saw someone suggest this on here, but the idea that Kerry only "dates" V because Johnny is in his head is ridiculous to me. The first time he called you to deal with the Us Cracks tour gear, he wanted Johnny. Every time after that, he wanted V. He definitely realizes which of the two is helping him; he can tell them apart. The Johnny that Kerry remembers wouldn't have done a selfless thing in his life, lest risking his pride and reputation as Night City's biggest fuckboy. Whether you really schmooze him up or tell him he's going overboard, Kerry appreciates that you helped him. And I think after the concert, when he hands V his gun, Kerry's body language suggests that he wasn't planning to give the gun to Johnny, he thought about it because V was back in control. V helped get the band back together, V helped decide if Denny or Henry should play the gig, V was the one who brought Johnny to Kerry's house. Johnny won't take over to do it himself despite probably being able to. I only wish you didn't meet him so late in the main story, so that his story could have more time and space to breathe.

I am foaming at the mouth I need to rant about something in Feral Casey AU.
Okay so Usagi and Hana.
Usagi and Hana are the Henry and Sam of FCAU. Quite literally if you have seen TLOU HBO series. This wasn't my intention though.
I know I wanted one of the main cast to be deaf, a challenge to better myself in representation. And originally, I chose Usagi.
It was gonna be so cute. Usagi getting caught in an explosion to save Hana and then the two end up needing to rely on each other. Usagi needed her ears, and Hana needed his protection and guidance.
Then Leo and Usagi would be the ultimate disabled couple with Leo being an amputee. And they would be so fucking cute together and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--
But there was a problem.
Hana didn't have a personality.
At the time, her only personality trait was that she was dependent on Usagi and then ultimately became a rude character that I didn't want her to be. I tried to twist it as her overcoming ableism but nothing worked out.
After much debate, I made Hana the deaf character to fix her personality.
I'm not saying being deaf is a personality trait. But Hana being deaf brought out a better personality within her.
Now I have a little girl who becomes deaf in the crossfire of an explosion and her personality takes a turn. She is scared, she is lost, and she needs Usagi to be her shield. Once they finally find the Resistance and Casey Jr taught her sign language, she became more independent.
Because she had hearing beforehand, she knows of a life where sound meant something to her. And she wants it back more than anything. She gets cochlear implants and wears them all the time. Usagi is happy for her.
But then things come up. Noises became too much, she starts getting headaches, the implants become uncomfortable since she wears them ALL DAY.
She refuses to put them on one day and this is Usagi and Hana’s first fight of many.
Now, don't get me wrong, Usagi wants to be a good brother. Truly. But he doesn't understand Hana’s situation. He just assumes at first.
In this fight, Usagi and Hana go back and forth about needing the implants until Hana manages to sign why she hates them. Usagi negotiates a compromise, asking her to wear them when they are outside. The outside contains Kraang and gunfire and other things that you need to listen out for. Hana agrees.
But then things get worse.
Her hearing becomes more and more damaged and the implants needed to get upgraded again and again. She still finds them uncomfortable to wear, still gets headaches when she wears them, voices become harder to understand, and implants are very hard to come by in the apocalypse.
So one day, when she and the others are meant to be going out, she refused to wear them. Usagi and Hana fight again.
Usagi wants to keep her safe, you know? He means well. But Hana was just not having it. Her anger bubbles over as she aggressively signs her thoughts until her hands stopped making sense.
And then all she could do was scream.
Then she broke down crying.
The siblings never fought again after that. Usagi finally breaks out of his audism mindset and learns to support Hana’s choices no matter what.
We get to watch a character go from a scared, shy, dependant child turn into a stubborn-headed, strong, independent girl through the journey of accepting Deafness. This is a journey I have been building since the idea for FCAU started and I am grateful to have the support of my ASL professor (who is Deaf) who caught me drawing sketches of Hana and became invested in helping me.
And there is a reason why Usagi is so keen on his ways but I don't wanna spoil it yet. TLDR, it has to do with depression and shit. It's a whole thing that we'll get into later.
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL.
Without spoiling too much, there's going to be a particular episode about 1/4 way through the story involving Usagi and Hana’s relationship and uhh let's just say it'll make you cry.
Usagi proves himself as the loving brother that will do anything for his sister and puts her above all else.
As Hana faces a great fear that she is no longer afraid off because she knows she can handle it and knows who got her back.
Okay rant over, I am satisfied. I'm going to bed.

DRDT Survivor Predictions
Here are my predictions for the survivors of the DRDT Killing Game. Spoilers for the three original Dangan games because I'm using that as a resource for my predictions.
It seems that the proper number of survivors for this will be five. Assuming that two people die every chapter up to five, save for Chapter Three with the usual three deaths. The only reason Dangan THH had six was because of the lack of execution in chapter five. So unless something like that happens in DRDT, five will be our number of survivors.
Teruko Tawaki
I think that Teruko is going to survive the Killing Game, but not the entire story, y'know? Like, unless she slowly finds a purpose to leave to the real world, I don't think she's gonna live. I think she might go out in a blaze of glory in the last chapter to protect her remaining friends and end the killing game or something, it just feels in-character for her. So she's gonna make it through the killing game, but I still think she might die afterwards.
2. Charles Cuevas
Charles feels to in-depth and deep to die. It's either him or Whit, one of them is gonna die, and I think Charles is gonna live. As for my support: the original pattern of the Dangan games. The Dangan games always involve a certain pattern. I think one of the main themes of Dangan is that 'if change is not enacted, history will repeat itself' and right now, there has been no change, and history IS repeating itself in DRDT. The pattern I'm talking about is how the first chapter always involves a main support character, and usually a knife. Chapter three is always a triple death. The muscular character always dies in Chapter Four. And Chapter Five is the death of the antagonist. But Charles is NOT an antagonist anymore. At least I don't think so. For example: Byakuya Togami. He was introduced as the main antagonist of Trigger Happy Havoc in the first chapter, just like Charles. But over the course of the game, Byakuya redeemed himself, just like how Charles seems to do. Maybe if Whit dies, he'll go back to being main antag, but as of now, it seems like he will live.
Out of the three original antags, Byakuya is the only one to survive the killing game. This is because he redeemed himself to the point where he stopped being the main antag by Chapter Five. So he lived. That seems to be the path that Charles is going down, unless something changes. David seems to be set up as the new main antag, so he'll prolly die in Chapter Five instead of Charles.
3. Ace Markey
Ace is going to live. He has to. If he dies I will never be happy ever again. But in all seriousness, I have a bit of back up on this. Ace's secret quote. "I don't know what to do with myself anymore." Ace sounds very... almost depressed and hopeless with the way this quote is phrased. See, Ace has this sort of coping mechanism. He seems to be afraid of being out of control of the situation, so he tends to lash out at people. Which is what I think he does when he insults and downright bullys Nico. But he only does this to people weaker than him, prolly out of his fear of harm. Point is: Ace seems like he no longer has anyone to lash out at, and no one to even seek comfort in because he has pushed everyone away. So I think everyone significant in his life is dead by the point he says this. Being Levi, Nico, and Hu. The three people most significant in his life. Even the people he didn't like, like Hu and Nico. With them gone he has no one to lash out at, and no one to even try and confide in. So he has fallen into a sort of depression. Levi needs to be dead for him to reach this state, I'm pretty sure. And Levi, as the resident muscular character, seems bound to die in Chapter Four, so that means Ace will live to see that day. But one thing: Levi might not die at all. The DRDT cast know they are on a TV show FAR earlier than any of the others. So if they find out about the pattern, they could break it to where Levi doesn't die, and so on so forth. But, that seems unlikely. There is a chance Ace may be involved in Chapter Five, but as of now it seems that will be the death of David, and it doesn't seem David would target Ace if he was going to do a Nagito/Kokichi moment. So, for Ace to get into the depressive state he would need to be to say something like his secret quote, Levi, Hu, and Nico would need to be dead. Levi is seemingly bound for death in Chapter Four, so Ace would need to live long enough to see Levi die. And there doesn't seem to be a place for Ace to die in Chapter Five. So Ace will prolly make it to the end.
4. Rose Lacroix
There's always like?? A few characters?? On the survivor bracket that were so irrelevant that they weren't good enough people to be main support and die, but not bad enough to die either. There is always a few honarary un-important people on the survivor bracket. In Dangan One it was Toko and Yasuhiro. Hiro and Toko were only suuper important when they were being framed. They weren't really loved or hated enough to die. Then in Dangan 2 there was Kazuichi and Sonia, who were barely ever relevant, save for their relationships with the culprits/victims of a few cases. And then in V3 there was Himiko, who was only a main suspect in Chapter 2, but didn't actually shine in either a good or bad light. So she lived. And it feels like Rose will be the honorary normal guy. I hope she is. I love her.
5. Whit Young or Eden Tobisa
One of them is the mastermind, and one of them is gonna live, the other will die in Chapter Three. That's. That's it. I only suspect Eden because of something I saw about the fork stabbed into the clock in the new MV, and Xander's eye wound looking like it was caused by a fork. I know someone made a post about it but i can't find it so credit to them-- But anyways, that's why I suspect Eden. And then there's Whit, who is doomed to die no matter what because of his relationship with Charles. They are not allowed to have a happy ending, no matter what. So Whit is either the mastermind, or he gonna die. I think.
That is my survivors predictions. However, most of my support is from the traditional Dangan pattern. As I mentioned before, these characters know they are on a TV show significantly earlier than any other groups. So they do have the chance to break the pattern, even if it means certain characters dying before they're supposed to, or just them not dying at all.
But yeah, that's all, lol- lemme know your thoughts!! <3

⛅WORKS:
PREQUEL: "Am I Ready For Love? Or Maybe Just A Best Friend" [Tumblr Link]
**This story is intended to be read prior to "When Sun Shines Again" & is recommended**
Description: While playing "Mom Friend" to his college buddies' shenanigans, Hero is shocked to learn that he is widely considered the "Prince" of their campus. Though flattered, he doesn't feel he deserves the praise, especially seeing as his heart still missed the best friend and childhood love he had lost far too soon. He would always miss her and simply couldn't imagine being with anyone else...but that didn't mean he wasn't lonely. Even self-imposed loneliness wasn't free from sadness.
When an unexpected conversation drudges up bittersweet memories for him, however, Hero begins to wonder if he doesn't have to be nearly as lonely anymore. He might not be ready for love, but a best friend didn't sound too bad...
Hero Centric Hurt/Comfort, Angst, & Slice of Life; Post-Good Ending. Special emphasis on Past Hero/Mari (Angst) and Hero's platonic friendships with his college friends (Brandi & OCs) in the present. Could be Hero/OC if you really wanted to see it, but this story is focused on their platonic friendship.
MAIN STORY: "When Sun Shines Again" [AO3 Link; Tumblr Links Below]
Description: When tragedy struck, Hero lost not only his dearest friend but also his dreams for the future. Even years later, Hero doesn't know what his "forever" looks like without Mari in it, but somehow he finds the strength to carry on and build a new life for himself. With his family and friends both old and new by his side, Hero struggles through life's ups and downs--the joys and sorrows he faces in a world without Mari. In the beginning, he's only looking to survive it all, but somewhere along the way, he might find a purpose, a reason he's still here. Maybe there really is a way he can learn to be happy again, and maybe, just maybe, when he's least expecting it, he might even find himself slowly opening his heart to love again--he might even find himself believing that even the darkest, stormiest of times will eventually pass and the sun will shine again.
A Hero-Centric story spanning 15 years of his life post-good end. Focuses on Hero finding healing & building a life for himself after the loss of Mari. Eventually includes him learning to love again after an extremely slow burn. All pairings are tagged on AO3 upfront. Rated T for heavy themes & some language. Reading the prequel is recommended.

What's your favorite character relationship dynamic and which characters made you realize that fact? What was it about them that resonated with you originally? (inb4 PoTO ramble but I'm entirely here for it)
Ooo, a good one, Anon. Correct, it probably started with Phantom :P You asked for it...
...although honestly this is a complex thing so while I'll try to keep it relatively brief, I may not succeed, so I'ma put this under a cut.
The short answer: light vs dark, enemies-to-lovers, and/or redemptive relationships.
My initial love of Phantom was no so much about the relationship (romatic of otherwise) between Erik and Christine, but more Erik as a person. I have always been a super sensitive person, moreso as a kid, and Erik was the first time I saw a character that was excessively emotional and utterly unable to contain or manage it, and it was the first time I felt Seen. I did like the romantic dynamic in general, but Christine specifically wasn't interesting enough for me as a character to get me fully into it as a romance.
All of this developed in my mind as I got older, and to be honest I didn't understand why this stuff appealed to me until maybe like ten years ago. Pardon me for a bit of personal stuff.
I've considered myself, for a long time, to be Too Much. Aside from being super emotional and sometimes excessively empathetic, I used to be very obsessive, vengeful, and angry. I developed chronic depression at a -very- young age and had almost no guidance on how to manage it, and it made me a pretty difficult person to be around and with.
I honestly didn't get better until my relationship (with my now-husband, then-boyfriend) almost ended, partially because of how I was. What moved me to dedicate myself to getting better was realizing that I was hurting him and would lose him. And I did get better! Way better!
All that to say, even though it sounds dramatic: the idea that love can save someone and make them the best version of themselves is so hopeful and wonderful to me. I adore stories where good and value can be found in people have been broken by their sadness. Not only that, but the idea that just having that good and value recognized by someone else is healing and powerful.
To tie back to Phantom- Erik doesn't have a change in heart until Christine shows him that he's not incapable of being loved. By kissing him at the end she basically says "I could have loved you, I HAVE seen beyond your appearance, it was never about that". She just loved someone else and, y'know, had some entirely valid reasons to come to hate and fear Erik. "What made you ugly isn't your face, it's what you let your sadness turn you into."
So, with that in mind, you can probably see why my two fave ships these days are Reylo and Dimileth- if you know what those are. I always found it really funny when critics of Reylo would say "you don't care about Rey, you just want to be her and have Kylo Ren love you". Because, no-- I'M Kylo Ren, and I want to be loved by Rey. I was the shitty, broken person who needed to be shown I wasn't beyond repair or understanding by someone who DIDN'T let their sadness break them, who had the patience and love in them to help me.
And, this isn't just a romantic thing. I very much enjoy this in fictional friendships as well. Frankly, this all ALSO relates to a lot of my friendships.
...whew, that was dramatic, wasn't it? I hope it wasn't too much, or that it wasn't entirely disorganized and incomprehensible. Thank you for the ask! As you can see, I can talk about this shit forever if I'm allowed.

Halt O'Carrick Playlist Part 4:
It's continuning on with more songs, and more Queen. Because I am very biased about that band. I am currently litsening to their new collectors edition album right now while writing this. But whatever. Moving on:
You're My Bestfriend by Queen: More Queen :) This song reminds me of Halt and Crowley. Which makes since. Even though the song was originally written for John Deacon's wife, it works better with Crowley and Halt rather than Pauline and Halt. Because I prefer Cralt of Haltine. Oh, you're the best friend that I ever had. I've been with you such a long time, you're my sunshine and I want you to know that my feelings are true. I really love you. Oh, you're my best friend. Things Halt one hundred percent feels but is also one hundred percent never going to say them outloud. Not in a million years.
I'll Be There For You by The Rembrandts: Yes, the F.R.I.E.N.D.S theme tune. This also reminds me of Halt and Crowley. And Halt and Will. And Halt and literally everyone in the entire series that he is protective of. Which is pretty much everyone. This song more reminds me of the all the characters as entire friend group. Well, obviously not all the characters. Like Moragarath and the other villains. But you know what I mean. They are a chaotic friend group and they will always help each other like the chaotic friends that they are.
Friends Will Be Friends by Queen: I kind of feel like I've already done this one. But whatever. More friendship. More Queen. There will be a lot of Queen this time round. The reason for this should be fairly obvious as to why it reminds me of Halt and his should be husband, so I'm not gonna say anymore. Except this we can rule Pauline out of this one, unless you like Craltine, because this was not written for John Deacon's wife. It was just for friends in general. Random side note: Halt and Crowley are gay.
We Are The Champions by Queen: Not done with this band yet. There is just so may good and powerful songs. Sue me. I DON'T. CARE. We Are The Champions is once again another song that fits well with most of the characters, mainly as one big badass fighting group. Pretty obvious as to why. I can't be bothered to explain why. But there is a line in the chorus I would love to bring your attention to: And we'll keep on fighting till the end. Powerful shit right there.
Spread Your Wings by Queen: We're not done yet. This song might more apply to Will actually but whatever. It can still relate to Halt pretty well, with just some changes. The songs about a boy who wants to get away from where he is now to be doing something else. Kind of how Halt didn't want to be king, and didn't want to die, so he left Hibernia for Araluen adn became a ranger. The only difference is that the boy in the song is working at a bar, lives in a hotel room, and is poor and is basically a nothing. The exact opposite of what Halt was. Also the boys name is Sammy.
Bring Me To Life by Evanescence: Emo song. Emo boy. I don't really know what else to say to this. This song could kind of relate to where Halt was most likely feeling depressed, at least a little bit. Like when he had murder attempts against him from his own bloody brother, or when Pritchard died. I don't have anything else to say but emo.
Do I Wanna Know? by The Arctic Monkeys: I dunno. It just reminds me of him. I think this is a song he would maybe sort of like in a modern AU. Like I've said, I think he would actually like some modern stuff, especially since it sounds a lot better than medieval stuff and its all different varities and genres.
Centuries by Fall Out Boy: This is another one that should be pretty self explanatory. I've seen other people say that this song reminds them of RA. Again, this song can relate to most of the characters. Probably more closer to being a Will, Horace, Gilan and Cassandra song. But still relates to everyone really.
Always by Bon Jovi: Again, don't know why. Again, another song that I think Halt would like. The songs about loving and being there for someone always. For some reason whenever I hear it and I think about Halt, I don't think about him being there for Will or Crowley or Pauline, or any of those characters. I think about him and Caitlyn. Even though this is supposed to be a love song, and Caitlyn's Halt's sister which would make it weird, I don't think about it as a love song. I just think about people caring about each other very much. Platonically.
21 Guns by Green Day: And lets end it off with yet another song I don't have a real reason for, other than the feel and sound of th esong, and I think Halt would kind of like it. I guess if you really look deep into the lyrics you could probably find a better reasoning, but I'm too lazy, someone else can do it.
So thats that. Now that I'm done, I'm going to continue litsening to a Queen interview on the radio.

Kirumi's execution was the best in original games for me. The lesson.. the lesson.
Okay one more thing before I fall asleep
What do you think about Ryoma? I'm so angry at the fact he didn't get the attention and interesting analyses he deserves, I love him too much.
Oh, a hundred percent. Hands down. Celeste is a distant second place. I have half a mind to rewrite the rest of the executions to make them have new moral lessons and make them gorier! (the only reason I haven't is because I'm unsure what POV to do it in so it doesn't sound... clunky?)
I love the Ryoma we got in canon, but I also feel like his character could have taken several other interesting directions. I would have loved to see an au where Ryoma gets attacked but then murders his attacker in self defense, and how he'd cope with that. I'd also be curious to see how Monokuma would execute someone like Ryoma, who kind of wants to die but also really wants to talk himself out of it.
(My idea is an extensive stay in solitary confinement, but like the evil one where everything is white and then he's finally killed in his sleep. If Kaede can survive for 8 hours, it can happen!)
I could also see him being unbothered by the "nothing is real" twist because nothing felt real to him anyways, so nothing changed. I think that twist might even give him hope since he might actually have people in his life that care about him.
However, I also get that he needed to die in canon, because his depressive state and Shuichi's depressive state in chapter 5 mirror each other.
Victim and Blackened foil duos are FANTASTIC, and I think that every time they do it it slaps. Ryoma and Kirumi are no expection! I also think his relationship with Kaito (or lack of it) is very interesting. I wish we got more of that.
Get some sleep! You need it!

One of my favorite character-building exercises for my FL PC's (ba dum tss) is gauging how Developed and Separate from their strict roles in game is just. Switching their ambitions in my head, and seeing just what would happen. Like, I made each of you with one purpose, and for quite a while, that purpose was all you were. Can you stand on your own, down in the Neath, for another reason all together?
Anyways, under the cut is me rambing about my OC's in AU's as a creative exercise
Damodar Wali - Nemesis PC
Light Fingers - Oh BOY would Dam here ThRIVE in LF proper, but the pre-orphanage stuff? That's... where I struggle. I can see him getting to the Neath after his brother's death (just a NORMAL murder this time :3) in a listless state of depression and "can't be any worse down there and if it is i'm too sad to care" being his mantra, but i think it would take a few YEARS at LEAST to start the hunt for the diamond. Like, he needs to go through his recent "I MUST LIVE FOREVER" arc before he looks at that old note about the diamond, and it CLICKS in his brain that. oho. big diamond. maybe from mountain. I Need It. And he fits so perfectly after that! Already a university man, so he's in with Dr. Vaughn so quickly, basically becoming Dad 2 to the LF crew, and Dad Prime to Kiddo, and absolutely LOVING all the shapeling art stuff. I can't get the image out of my head of him walking out of the nightmare orphanage, covered in blood, and wearing the kiddo in a baby chest carrier. And, even though it pains him, he WILL keep the kiddo free, and decline the diamond. he can always get another one, but he can't get another kid. Also the love thing is fucked up so even if he didn't love kid he would say no, but just with a lot more regrets as soon as the danger was passed. but he loves kid so it's Fine
heart's Desire - Oh Lord You Know Who he's Wishing Would Come Back From The Dead. Fuck You Beechwood Bros Before hoes. he Would Personally hate That Monkey More Than Pages. What Are Your Theories. You Are A Disgrace.
Bag A Legend - .... veils ate his brother and he's going to kill it for that. it's so unlike him. i've got nothing else.
Leigh Corbyn - Light Fingers PC
heart's Desire - Real talk? Light Fingers was a misclick. The smooth-talking former con-man who forgot to finish A Name Whispered in Darkness until post paramount presence was, surprisingly, originally meant to do heart's desire. I procrastinated picking for 4 months, finally decided to pick, was torn between the two, looked at Light Finger's pathway in Spite, decided that just wasn't fun sounding, and accidentally clicked it as i scrolled. In fact, it's baked into Leigh's backstory that he was 100% here for the Marvelous, got too addicted to opium, and woke up with a note about a diamond, and he's just PRETENDING he knows the woman involved, even though he just found it on the floor a few bottles ago. In a slightly soberer world, Leigh would have excelled at hD, but without all the character development specifically tied to the horrors of LF, Leigh would be... insufferable. It would be terrible for everyone around him. he would also make it everyone else's problem by choosing Adoration, and forcing all of London to deal with his BS. this is the worst ending.
Bag A Legend - Gotta get that drug and drink money, baby! he doesn't last a week, because he drinks too much Absinthe and gets eaten.
Nemesis - Once again, I struggle to make this fit! Leigh original characterization was pure hedonism, so it's hard to make him fit into the more somber ambitions, and his later developments only happen because of the horrors he witnessed in LF prompting a complete and utter breakdown mid-roof. I think just maybe that Nemesis might be possible, as the death of the loved one might trigger that breakdown, especially if Leigh can blame their death on his own bravado for a while, but I can't be sure. The con-artist womanizer finally settling down in a quiet home, far from his family and his past, only to come home from the only honest job he's ever had to fine his spouse, dead? Oh. Oh, there is something there...
Eliza Marlow - hearts Desire PC
Bag A Legend - I've been recently thinking a lot about Eliza (as Cardsy), and about it's sadistic murder hobby, and about how, in a couple decades, it will just start hunting and eating people probably. And why not give it another way to that end? Do a cheeky little murder after losing a card game, get sent to New Newgate, and, oh, what's that, flying past the dirigible, with a man in it's jaws? And there's a bounty on its head, you say? And of course, when all aspects are dead, and the head hangs proudly from its hands, it's really not a surprise that they take over the business and place of Mr Veils so easily.
Nemesis - Eliza is going to fucking murder its sister in it's place whenever it gets tired of the human identity. It's literally going to kill her violently and with its teeth. This does not work, it does not really care about anyone enough to Avenge Them. No.
Light Fingers - Eliza bails after it find out there's no actual diamond. Like, immediate tea slurp and turning around and going home. No money, no power? Fuck this, it's out. Which is probably a good thing, because it would pick the Objectively Incorrect Ending. Even if it didn't believe there was a diamond as a reward. It just likes making people feel anguish.
Wadiya Babar - Bag A Legend PC
Nemesis - Interestingly, I can't think of a single reason Wadiya would ever find themselves on the Nemesis path organically, but I can see Wadiya being hired to hunt down the Nemesis after already being in the Neath, and feeling compelled to Finish the Job post-Scathewick would honestly take them all the way through, just straight after the Master. Unfortunately they would kill Mirrors, and would decimate Cups before it even has a chance to explain. All the time it gets between each stab and gunshot and harpoon is enough to, very Funnily, express complete unknowing as to who they are, as Jimmy Johnson from Liverpool was the one who's loved one died, and it would have no reason to even be aware of Wadiya, as her skill as a hunter would make this whole dance take. like. a week, max. It would be very funny and she'd look great in the cloak.
Light Fingers - Wadiya would unfortunately not qualify for this ambiton's starting hook, as they don't have friends, and nobody would ever think she'd go for a heist. Instead, you'd have to be frank about what's happening, and then they'd help! Edward is Dead. Fires is Dead. The Orphanage is on Fire. It's been a day. The baby is here now. Wadiya is teaching it how to hold a spear. Wadiya raises the bab to be a little hunting sidekick, and they do use Mr Fires's head mounted head for target practice. She's too efficient. She scares me.
hearts Desire - Wadiya's hatred of chess may have come as a result of BaL, but I just know in my heart of hearts that they would never, ever, ever consider anything game-like. Ever.
anyways hope you enjoyed :3

It’s time to go.
When I lived here, I wanted to kill myself. When I lived here, I narrowly escaped sexual assault at the hands of a man by the river’s edge. I slept terribly, shut everyone out, starved myself until I was dizzy and seeing stars. And now I’m back.
Tumblr media
I’ve actually returned 3 times now: first in October, again in November, and now March. They say every time you retrieve a memory you alter it In some way. A part of me is screaming NO. DON'T GO BACK. That sadistic side of me wants the memory of my grim days of self hatred to stay unadulterated, securely bottled and buried. But to retrieve in this case does not just mean in the physical realm, it also applies to memory. And I’ve revisited this place in my mind probably hundreds of times.
I originally came back because it’s where the story I’m writing takes place. It’s about a girl who’s going to kill her stalker. She is in her 1st year of college, depressed and struggling, but not nearly as pathetic and wilting as I was. The first couple times I visited, when my story was still in the very early stages of being written, I felt as though the hour-long drive was a sort of pilgrimage in my own bildungsroman. This time, though, I didn’t really feel much at all.
I don’t know why. I’m normally porous with feelings, so I felt a little shocked at my own indifference.
I tried to force myself to feel: remember that this is probably the last time I’ll ever be back riding the bus, walking about the campus, seeing the buildings, but I just couldn't. I didn't even visit my first dorm like usual. Am I finally healed?
Tumblr media
I went down by that river bank I mentioned earlier- where that terrible thing almost happened and did happen. It’s a beautiful spot on campus. A very green, sort of swampy area with a series of lakes and rivers and puddles. When I lived here, I saw lots of turtles big and small, fast and slow, in groups and all alone. I saw swans and fishes and squirrels. Today, I even saw a mongoose.
Tumblr media
Maybe this will sound, I don't know, selfish and stupid, but that was actually a big reason why the whole thing with the man had angered me so much at the time. It was my favorite spot on campus: a beautiful, quiet place with fountains and flowers and the comforting sounds of running water and distant chatter. That was all ruined the second his eyes locked on mine.
Tumblr media
But now, I walk about the area as calmly and peacefully as I had before. The sun is out now, the water is glittery, there’s a girl reading a book at the base of a tree trunk. One of my favorite songs starts playing through my earbuds and I actually feel lovely, serene.
Tumblr media
The search for that old feeling continued as I walked towards the main area of campus. I still had a fondness for it at least: I transferred to a different school in 2021, but this one was decidedly better looking. It’s sprawling and in the hill country so there’s a ton of stairs, but I don’t mind. I climb and climb and climb until I’m on a bridge. It’s the one that connects the dining hall to the honors building. It’s outdoors and the walls go up to my ribs, so I get on my tiptoes to look all the way down.
Tumblr media
This is the part where my character contemplates suicide by jumping. I remembered that deep, depressing black hole I felt I couldn’t crawl out of that first year in college, having to walk this bridge to get to my only honors class, trying to imagine what my body would sound and feel like splattered at full force into the concrete below. My first two trips, I could easily take myself back to that feeling, so much so that it was upsetting.
Now, I don’t feel it. I look back up at the big green campus that will always have a place in my story. I take it all in. I think I might be addicted to taking it all in. Just then, Lana sings:
When you know, you know
When you know, you know
It’s time, it’s time to go.

I think I've told you I ship Big and Storm? 🤔 If I haven't before now I have LOL.
They never move in together or anything like that. Storm didn't want to leave the airship and the other Rogues and Big didn't want to leave Mystic Ruins, so they decided that's for squares and they're perfectly fine NOT doing that.
ANYWAY, the reason I bring all this up in an OC fact trade is they get a kiddo! Wave built them a robot kid named Leaf. 🥰 They told Wave not to program Leaf to be a fantastic Extreme Gear boarder, and she complied... by making Leaf a fantastic mechanic/inventor instead. But anyway, they pass Leaf back and forth between each other on a schedule.
Leaf keeps building Big inventions that either make fishing more efficient or would allow him to catch more fish at once because the poor kid hasn't quite grasped why Big fishes and they want to help their dad do it better. They mean well though, so Big always appreciates the gesture.
awwwwwwr this is cuuuuute
you did tell me they were a couple in your canon but i didn’t know they had a kid together. that’s adorable <3 <3 Leaf sounds precious.
I have been tempted to give them a fankid of my own, a tiny little thing that somewhere gets into all sorts of places like Froggy. But so far only one AU they’re in is confirmed that they get a kid.
Storms main activity as a father is FINDING HIS CHILD IN PLACES THAT HE CANNOT FATHOM
GREY-WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING-HOW DID YOU GET UP THERE-
Ummmm i’m trying to think of an oc to talk about
fffffffuck it i’ll talk about my rendition (or at least one) of Knuckles’ father His name is Lance (Short for Lancer) and he was an originally a Locke reboot but now he’s developed into something of my own character.
He’s very intelligent and yet still a bit of an idiot. He gives very much Michael Reeves and Markiplier vibes. Being so smart yet also an idiot. He’s very much into robotics and even managed to amke his own robotic hand, he was born with disfigured that got removed so he just went fuck it imma make my own hand. And you know that while hsi creations of robotics are a wonder of science and engineering... he still has his moments. He either makes the most stupid memeist things because of boredom or the internet. Like a goddamn screaming roomba (if you know the reference i love you). He knows more memes and more about internet culture than his own son but he adores his son. He has moments where his depression will get really bad and he’ll become dead inside but he stilll tries his best to be there for his son even with his issues and will drag himself out of bed for him (AND NOT MICROWAVE HIS GODDAMN CHILD FROM A BAD DREAM GOD FUCKING DAMMIT LOCKE. LANCE GETS DUMB AND INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU ACT ON THEM FUCKING-). Most of the time you can tell when h’es in a good mood cause when he is feeling good... the gremlin comes out. Knuckles may be happy that his dad is happy but then he wishes that he wouldn’t become such a gremlin man because then he creates the weirdest shit.
Knuckles: DAD WHY DO THESE DRONES KEEP GOING AFTER ME
Lance: i’m trying to speed up the robot apocalypse and these drones go after people after scanning their faces
Knuckles: WHY
Lance: idk i thought it was funny
Knuckles: DAD PLS
He’s also neurodivergent af

Moonstruck (1987)
Originally published November 21st, 2012
What made me want to see it?
I remember reading an Academy Awards history book and being dumbfounded that two people I knew as singers (Frank Sinatra and Cher) had won Best Performer.  I was especially dumbfounded that Cher beat out Meryl Streep, the "best actress like forever."  I later became interested in the director, Norman Jewison, after seeing a documentary on him.  Knowing Nicolas Cage was in it was a huge plus.  And lastly, AFI called one of the lines from it the 96th most iconic movie line.
What did I think of it?
To my surprise, I found this considerably funny.  There were a lot of great characters and there was subtlty, two things I love in comedy.
There was evident effort put into the performances.  Yes, Nicolas Cage lost his shit, but it was very tame.  Olympia Dukakis was attractive and it's not weird at all that she was 56 in this movie.  Cher was good.  I guess it's cool that Cher managed to be a successful singer and actress.  The only song I know by her sounds like a depressed horse had one too many at the bar on karaoke night.
There were some moments where it busted out the ol' "boys are like this" and "girls are like that," which always bothers me.
That "memorable line" didn't particularly resonate with me.  Then again, a lot of "famous movie lines" don't.
The movie explored a family and the relationships of its various members going askew as new romantic interests enter their lives.  It did a fair job addressing the complexities of passion and the kind of balance you need to find in order to promote a big happy lovey family.  Part of me wanted it to go deeper and darker.
There were some confusing motives.  I wasn't sure why Nicolas Cage was so pissed off at his brother or why his brother made the decision he did toward the end of the movie.  I can surmise reasons, but I would have liked more lucid explanations for such pivotal motives.
Overall?
Moonstruck is a refreshing blend of humor, acting, and depth that uses a well-woven ensemble to illustrate the complexities of being moonstruck.

I don't know how to make a keep reading post on mobile so don't read the tags if you don't want to read a vent lmao
#so this is going to sound selfish and stupid and probably entitled and all the other bad things but im tired of pretending#every single oc i make that has depression or every single character i like that has depression has always had a reason#like nobody knows who any of these fucking characters are but hear me out anyways#aepsthis has depression because his mother figure died#my Self Insert TM has depression bc her mother was abusive and her father absent#vaughn has depression because she was sexually assaulted three times before she was old enough to know what that meant#vanessa has depression because her father sexually abused her for years and when she finally met someone who didn't equate sex with (1)#violence he died and their baby was born a miscarriage.#the only character i have that ORIGINALLY didn't have a sound reason for being depressed was emil#but even now ive altered his backstory to make the depression part make more sense#here comes the selfish part uwu#i dont have a reason to be depressed?? like we were poor but my parents never showed it. my dad was scary and threatening but he wasn't mean#my mom would have sat and listened to me if i wanted to talk about something#nobody that i was super close to has died except for pets (dont get me started)#my cousin molested me when i was young and that sucked sure but i was so young that i didnt know what was happening so like#i can't blame all of my problems on that one occurrence#bc the ones i have and the ones that develop after that sort of thing are only minimally connected at best#i give all of my ocs tragic backgrounds to try and make sense of the reason why they have depression#but i dont even have a reason for having it#like im so convinced that im faking it or that other people will thing im being a whiny bitch bc nothing bad has happened to me#im white my parents are still together i can afford things i work at a job i like#i did and still do good in school i have pets and at least a couple hobbies#so im really super fucking confused lol#like i cant just be like#hey i have no reason to be depressed my life is great but hahahhaa i think i have depression uwu#because everyone will think im doing it for attention#idk i know my depression is still valid despite not having any traceable reasoning but#i feel like asking for help just takes up space that could be used to help people who need it more#and i cant ask for help when i feel like their talents would be better spent helping a kid who actually needs and deserves it#neither of the futures i can see for myself are ideal and i dont want to choose between a lesser evil or suicide

Art Deco and TAZ Graduation
Tumblr media
- Episode 30 "Take your Firbolg to Work Day
I know Travis probably made his choice to have the H.O.G. headquarters be designed with Art Deco for aesthetic purposes and didn't think of its function to the world of Nua BUT his choice is a really great accidental component that adds onto the world building in Nua and to one of the core problems that Graduation addresses involving the systemic nature of Nua. In this essay, I-
(And then I proceed to actually write the essay hidden below. FAIR WARNING: This is extremely long. If you want to learn about Modern Art History and how it ties into Graduation, this is your lucky day.)
This analysis/essay is going to be meta in terms of using evidence from real world events but it is needed to explain the history behind Art Deco and help us relate to the themes of Graduation. I think it’s clear to see how the systems and people in power in Graduation are influenced from the way our governments are now so I don’t think these connections are distant, rather closer together than we think.
Also, before we continue, I want to direct you to this lovely post made by a dear user and friend, Michelle/ fitzroythecreator, LINK HERE
She explains what she believes to be a core theme of graduation that I agree with and have integrated into this essay. Check it out <3
Before I can explain how Art Deco is tied into Graduation's core theme, I need to lay out definitions and context to art movements in the early 20th century. Along the way, I will make connections to the world of Nua and how real-life events in the early 20th century actually can relate to Graduation and its worldbuilding.
Let’s address what is Art Deco. Art Deco started as an art and architecture movement during the early 20th century (1900s). Most people are familiar with its aesthetics of geometric designs and influence of industrialization because of the roaring 20s era and many media influenced by it. Do you wonder why it was popularized in the US? It’s because during the great depression in the US, public buildings, more importantly federal government buildings, were commissioned to have this aesthetic thus it would have more publicity and access to the public. The H.O.G. headquarters could easily be compared to this event because it shares similar attributes of being a public government building.
With this information, it would be really interesting to imagine the timing of Graduation being set around the early 20th century. Art Deco gives us a time period to compare what kind of social events Nua could have faced similar to the real world. The modern period of the 1850s-1950s was a time when people were disinterested and scared of the changes that industrialism made in their daily lives. People were frustrated with the changes made in their lives and sought out ways to cope with the changes through escapism. In Graduation, I would argue that we see this skepticism and wariness in the characters about the changes Nua’s Socioeconomic systems made in their lives and society in general. A good example would be the student NPCs and their insistence that their hero and villain titles are just labels since they have been stripped from their original meanings. They still somewhat criticize the structure while upholding it. As the campaign progresses, we meet various characters who are very critical to Nua’s current orderly system such as Order and Gordie. In fact, despite their roles in society being vastly different, they both share the same opinions that the system is unjust as it hurts people thus there needs to be a push for change. I am not trying to label the time of Graduation to be around the 1900s, rather whatever year Graduation happens is in parallel to the events of the 1900s.
When I first heard Travis say, Art Deco, I was interested but disappointed it wasn’t Art Nouveau. My original thinking was because of Art Nouveau’s elitism of making the architecture more artistic and complex that only educated rich people can understand and less functional for the average citizen. A lot of the art displays during the art movement were held in house museums that were limited to rich eyes. I thought this reasoning made sense in terms of the H.O.G. headquarters being this elite building common people can’t comprehend. However, with continuous thought, it clicked. Art Deco fits so well.
Art Deco was meant to be a direct response to Art Nouveau and the Arts and Crafts movement. (And many more but for the sake of simplicity, sticking to these two major ones) Both movements share similarities of the desire to make total works of art.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
For art Nouveau in architecture, that is more on its aesthetics of stylized curving forms, thus it creates uniqueness with the architecture. For the Arts and Crafts movement in Europe, they focused on the importance of the craftsmanship and quality. The thing about the movement is that it’s heavily influenced by socialist values and the distaste for industrialism. Both art movements were diverse in style and locations globally. Because both took place internationally, there was no determined manifesto or structures for artists to adhere to. Another thing is both movements had lots of ornamentation which takes great skill and time to put into the works. By doing this, it would make the works more unique aspects to its character, however more time consuming and difficult to replicate.
Art Deco takes response to this because critics felt like these movements were outdated for the growing industrialism happening during the early 20th century. Art Deco focuses on sleek geometric design meant to be reproduced easily thanks to industries and have more emphasis on its function rather than aesthetics. It’s meant to be functional to accommodate for the new technologies of the 20th century.
So, let’s recap, in the late 19th century, two movements, focused on the style which had no concrete structures to adhere to and had the goal to make total works of art that is reliant on itself, are then replaced by Art Deco, a movement focused on its aesthetic to be mass produced easily and have a stronger focus on the form of the architecture to serve its functions. Does Art Deco sound similar to a number of Socioeconomic systems placed in Nua?
One of the key ideals of Art Deco is Functionalism. Art Deco is one of the many architectural movements in the early 20th century that decided to focus on function rather than aesthetics. What is functionalism? It is the idea that everything works as an integrated whole and that all the different components of a larger system are designed to work together. It is orderly. Architecture in the early 20th century was designed to suit the needs of the space. For example, each element of an office buildings would be designed and organized to suit that place. This ideal is more emphasized after the Great Depression in America where architects shifted their focus on the Streamline Moderne, where they aimed to make structures practical to the demands of real life and remove the emotional aspects of expressionist art.
Travis’s little choice to pick Art Deco is tied to a core theme of Graduation of dismantling the standards and structures set in Nua. It’s so brilliant yet unintentional. I know Travis hasn’t read up on modern art history. I hope by reading through, you can spot Art Deco’s need for creating limitation to focus on the functions and how it benefits the whole system. It doesn’t allow for the emotional aspects that Art Nouveau and the Art and Crafts movements held. Nua’s system follow the same thing. Everyone has a function in the socioeconomic system that has limitations meant to exploit the work labor and functions of the individual. The system leaves no room for indivduals to have growth to create real change. That’s not a flaw of the system. The system is literally designed to be that way with its many rules and standards. It's impossible to break away from it without being punished by the system itself. You need to function within its rules and have practical skills to contribute to the system. Your independent nature is stripped away. By having Art Deco be a core aesthetic design for the H.O.G. Headquarters, Art Deco ITSELF is just another element in the architecture meant to serve its function of upholding the ideology of order that H.O.G. and the world of Nua has. This orderly system has replaced the wild world that Higglemas in episode 12 remembers.
“I remember... the world when it was wild. Not sophisticated and ordered and... bureaucratic, like it is now.”

I have so many questions about the giant chicken.
1) What made you pick up this character?
This is gonna sound odd considering those that know me closer will know me by my bright and positive personality, and my answer may be morbid buut:
I found his complexity of a character fascinating. When I first saw him, I didn't know he had Empurata, or what that even was. At first he also annoyed me a little bit with his selfishness, but once I actually got through the two comic series, I was completely enamoured of this product of neglect. Small tidbits in the comic made me go 👀, like Rung dismissing his self harming, the entire crew bar Rodimus wanting to punch him, the only reason they even took him being that he was too dangerous to leave anywhere else; after a while, all I saw in him was a lonely, broken mech completely engulfed in rage of the absoloute unfairness life had given him, all for wanting to make clocks.
I personally believe he was a different mech before Empurata, as the brash and violent Whirl we know in the comics wouldn't have been able to make a name of himself as a chronosmith with that behaviour. And it's just, really interesting to see how he interacts with others?
He tried to kill himself multiple times, and had a rather soft/uncharacteristic reaction to Cyclonus' self harming tendencies, to a depressed Trailcutter, even encouraging Rodimus, helping Chromedome with Rewind-
All, small blink or miss moments where you realise that this mech absoloutly cares about this crew, despite choosing most of his waking moments to cause harm.
But still, he keeps going. He's still trying to make clocks despite being unhappy with the results everytime, but he just. keeps. going. He has nothing left to loose yet he's still kicking despite being suicidal as all hell.
What made me actually of course want to write him, was that he was fun. He's unapolagetic, he's out there, he is impulsive and chaotic and I wanted to write a fun character.
Originally.
It then morphed to me wanting to explore how someone would behave if society absoloutly had hated this guy's guts since the beginning, and how a guy like that would react to genuine care he has not felt his entire life- how would that affect his psyche, his behaviours?
I find him incredidbly fun and interesting to write because he's so darknmorally gray. He does what he thinks is right, no matter if its a terrible choice or not. And hell, he's smart and strong. He cares about others, but being shunned by society has made him clumsy and unaware of his behaviour to others, so he may be saying something out of kindness but really it's hurtful.
He's absoloutly chaotic which is so fun to write because I finally have an excuse to be gremlin :3
11) Are there some things you dislike about how the show/series/etc. portray the character you have picked up? If so, what?
I am very biased because the writing he got was made me love him, flaws and all. I dislike that he's such an underused character, I really wish there were more morally gray autobots being given showtimes or deeper lore dive ins. I want to see more of him :<
I must say I do notice a trend in fanon where he's just portrayed as a mech who only knows violence and absoloutly nothing else, which is a pity because he is a well rounded character. Each one to themselves of course, everyone has their own interpretations :D!
19) Should people get into the franchise your writing from, yes or no?
YEP. It's wild, it's longwinded, yes, but oh my god do you get amazing insight to social structures, to CANON interpersonal relationships, immense history deepdive and a different light on the Autobot/Decepticon mecha. IDW More than meets the Eye and Lost Light are such good series to read I honestly can recommend.
20) If you could sum up your character with one sentence, what would it be?
He's an angry, violent, broken and distrusting mech with so much care still about others.
21) Which song do you feel describes your character the most and why?
AGHH there's so MANYYY I have!!!
I'll have to go with this one for now:
youtube
as the lyrics remind me of what I said before: He's been mutilated, violated and shunned by everyone around him, but he's still here.
Since I rarely find myself being able to talk about this Lemme ramble about the lyrics real quick:
I was born in a thunderstorm
I grew up overnight
I played alone
I played on my own
I survived
Now this is the first verses and already it reminds me of him being from a higher caste but finding himself not wanting to be what he was, and never, (I believe at least) having any actual support from anyone but himself. He's only ever had himself to rely on and he's come through it all.
I wanted everything I never had
Like the love that comes with light
I wore envy and I hated that
But I survived
The next ones remind me of his anger and violence after Empurata, and wanting everything he never had (he lost his home and ability to craft, alongside his body)
But he's still here.
I have made every single mistake
That you could ever possibly make
I took and I took and I took what you gave
But you never noticed that I was in pain
I knew what I wanted, I went in and got it
Did all the things that you said that I wouldn't
I told you that I would never be forgotten
And all in spite of you
And I'm still breathing, I'm still breathing
I'm still breathing, I'm still breathing
I'm alive (You took it all, but I'm still breathing)
These lyrics hit home so hard because yeah often he wonders if it was really worth it doing all of these things, he often believes he's made every wrong choice possible in his life, nobody notices or cares that he's hurting (in his optics and actually proved by others behaviour in the comics), but DESPITE all of that.
He's still alive.
