Um. Okay. I've tried to avoid thinking about it for a day or two but. Well. So... I know this is my fault, but I'm really upset anyway. You know the three plants (two spider plants and one snake plant) I got at the start of the month? Adam and Aziraphale, the spider plants, they um. Didn't make it.

I have a history of being shit at taking care of plants but I swear I really tried with them, I changed things when they looked ill and used a mister and adjusted the sunlight and. Idk. Yeah. I know that spider plants are really hardy and almost impossible to kill. But.

Anyway this is them the first day I got them and I won't add a picture of now because it just looks really sad.

Bye, little plants, You made me happy while you grew And if there was anything at all That I could have done better I swear I'd have done it for you.

Crowley's still hanging on. She's a snake plant and it's grim but she's a survivor, I think. I hope.

I'm reading about how Israel, in the immediate aftermath of the 1948 Nakba, deliberately replaced olive trees and other indigenous flora with European plants. This ecological disaster, which is now proudly hailed under the banner of 'making the desert bloom,' was done to 'de-Arabize' the landscape, and to cover up - often with fast-growing European pine trees -the ruins of Palestinian villages that were destroyed by Zionists forces.

And I just need everyone to read this passage from Pappé, because the symbolism of what happened to those European pine trees in the desert speaks for itself:
