BLOG 3 - CASE STUDY 1

To deepen my research into whether Gen Z is truly seen as a generation of difficult employees, I found a podcast called “Be it Resolved, Gen Z is Unemployable” by “The Munk Debates Podcast”. It featured a debate on whether Gen Z really are difficult employees. The episode uses repurposed audio from social media, radio and TV features to set the topic. It also makes the episode well-researched with a journalistic format. The podcast starts with Ricki Gurwitz, the host of the podcast, introducing the topic with the support of music and audio features from secondary sources. Then, the podcast turns into a debate between Craig Sneesby, the director of a recruitment agency, who argues that Gen Z are hard to work with and Jake Bjorseth, the founder of a Gen Z agency called "Trndsttrs" that helps brands reach Gen Z, argues against the idea. The podcast puts two different perspectives into a debate to facilitate an in-depth discussion. 

It is an interesting format to discuss the issue from both sides, rather than one. It is something I would include in my podcast if I had contact with someone from a recruitment agency who would be able to shed light on how Gen Z's work expectations are affecting their chances of getting hired.
