some recent sulemio sketches. i've been starting a new drawing every day since sometime in january so I have currently made 226 drawings this year, most of which are sketches/WIPs!!

if you wanna see all 200+ sketches and wips then they're on patreon. i make weekly posts with all the sketches from the previous week.

#i do want to finish more of them #but i'm just happy to sketch a lot without the goal of finishing anything #i don't post my wips elsewhere since i think ppl would rather see the finished stuff #and then i'd be posting nothing but unfinished work #which isn't my vision for most of these pics

I don't know who needs to hear this but... You don't need to finish that WIP. not everything you create has to be a Work In Progress. you can just sketch something or write out a draft and then never go any farther than that. you don't have to finish everything you create. not everything is meant to be finished.

also, starting a new WIP when you have another isn't bad. it doesn't stop you from going back to the old one. sometimes you get excited for an idea, sometimes you just need to get that idea down. Do it. start another WIP. nothing is stopping you from going back to the old one later.

the only one putting these barriers up is yourself. Stop holding yourself back. You'll find yourself a lot happier if you stop forcing yourself to follow these invisible rules on what you can and should be focusing on finishing.

Asking a handful of creators:

Do you save things that, for one reason or another, you never ended up posting? I always love seeing scrapped WIPs / deleted scenes / etc, and was just curious!

(Absolutely no pressure to post any of it, of course!)

Theres a lot I dont post to Tumblr and even more that I don't post to Instagram. I usually share with discord though. I've thought about making a big post of those at some point.

Wips that I haven't shared, though, I got a whole folder of animations I probably will never finish. I have a bunch of half-done animatics as well. Maybe one day I'll go back and share what I did get done

A lot of my traditional art, though, I rarely share anymore. I have a lot of Lonely Leo doodles that I've done traditionally that I haven't shared as well as comic/au ideas that never go anywhere

I had a whole animatic planned that I was doing traditionally with watercolour that I never finished lol. If I can find the papers maybe I'll edit together what I did get done (it was Snufkin-centric, though)

My notes app also homes a lot of ideas or concepts that never really go anywhere

I feel like the fic anders shippers want about TLS is anders getting a blanket and a hug and being told he is the most correct. and not the Kirkwall polycule teaming up to get his major depressive episode ass on suicide watch, while also trying to prevent the city from collapsing directly on top of them and everyone. and fenris is upset with anders for creating this huge mess that the rest of them have to clean up, and then anders self harms and fenris is twice as upset with him. but alas this is the fic that resides in my heart and also now my libreoffice docs.

so um... HI AGAIN EVERYONE LOL, i am at a very awful dilemma because the thing is,, i have not been in the mood to write genshin lately (despite still playing the game and reading fanfiction from genshin)

and i honestly really want to archive this acc and start a new one (soon, hopefully) but the thing is this is my main blog, so i can't just delete it bc it ends up deleting my private blog which is basically just for all my rbs 💀

Re ur tags about worrying about having the perfect snippet for wip Wednesday/weekend: 1. Totally absolutely feel that, but 2. I literally posted a snippet the other day and realized I had straight up written the scene wrong based on my outline and realized I was gonna have to rewrite that but literally a minute after hitting post. Which DID feel very shitty, except then I realized that if the fic changes between the snippets I write and what actually gets posted, that means people get a glimpse into what some of the editing/revising process entails, which I also think is really cool!

Anyway, obviously it's still hard and scary to put raw/unfinished writing up on the internet for everyone to see, but at least for me I know I'm never expecting polished sentences from wip snippets, and part of what I enjoy about then is getting to see people in the process of creation, which is always gonna be a little messy!

that’s something I’ve been scared off because some of the fics are so messy and discombobulated right now I’m not sure if anything will stay the same. But like you I don’t except anything polished or like a special scene from wip wednesday/weekends I’m just excited about people writing in general and I do love seeing the small little glances whatever they are. I think I just need to remember that these aren’t like previews or supposed to reflect the entire fic but literally just motivation

#wip #been drawing these characters a lot recently #havent posted any of the stuff but i have a lot of unfinished aketches of them #idk. they feel easy to draw more than just. person standing with their arms down doing nothing #anyway. i have so many random characters designs lying around and i get attached to nearly every new character i draw so i gotta #do sometjing with them. i have posted so few of them but i have SO many. way too many. but theres only a couple that i dont care abt and #the rest mean much to me and i wanna smooth out all their designs and give them names and continue drawing them #and i wanna use them for stuff aswell. this character was one of few that i actually designed to be part of ibuprexulmethane from the #start but i still didnt know what to do with her. but i do now and its helping me flesh out the world a lot #i think i named her but its only written in my missing sketchbook so i dont remember what it was :/ #spending 2 years mostly just drawing new designs and not repeats was a mistake because i absolutely refuse to let go of them #i liked them when i draw them and i like them now. not my fault i made like 200 ocs without names and its an unorganized mess #didnt think id have so much trouble sorting out things i created but here i am. well im working on going through all my sketchbooks and #naming them. and id like to make sheets for all of them eventually too. that will take awhile though
