Practising Goncharov Theme by @caramiaaddio on violin bc I thought it would add an extra layer of haunting…ness (is that a word?)
Here’s the excerpt I’m playing in the video:
Despite it being in a fuck off key for violin it is a really beautiful piece and it’s absolutely worth the trouble of practising in second position (world’s most hated position) and I’m HOPING 🤞 I can record and (maybe) post a full cover of it someday
Listened to Eternal Dance Engine ~ Shall We Dance!! one too many times (and then like a hundred more times afterwards for good measure) and dropped everything to go draw this. Also tried out a new shading process which kinda did what I wanted it to but I’ll keep experimenting
My math teacher was talking about his sneakers and how he got them from Jimmy Butler because he trained in my school’s gym one summer a few years ago while living in my city and he and his crew or whatever bought our girls basketball team a new set of Nike sneakers
The one thing I had to say about that whole thing- THE ONE DAMN THING- was, “Oh. That Guy. He was in the new Fall Out Boy music video!” And my math class fell dead silent and I was just like 😶
Billy and Eddie taking Steve to his first rock concert. it’s probably Metallica. they dress him up while they’re pregaming, a little bit of both of their styles, Billy’s shirt and Eddie’s jewelry and a pair of old boots Steve fished out of the back of his closet. they play him every single album the band has put out. they all tailgate in the parking lot, smoke and drink and Steve gets to see Billy and Eddie in their element, with all the other metalhead “freaks” that schlepped out to the city for the show. and when they get to their seats and Steve feels the bass kick for the first time? Eddie headbanging and air-guitaring on one side, Billy scream-singing on the other. (it’s the first time Steve has seen Billy let loose like this and he’s honestly in awe.) Steve talks about it for weeks after!!! and they make it a tradition. at least once a year, the three of them pick a concert, any concert, even if they have to road trip it, get all decked out and have the time of their lives.
do you think there could be a weird route with your oc ham? maybe like RadioRaze or something? anyways have a good day!!! :)
i like to think a weird route with ham would be pretty much impossible bc ham is a kinda stubborn and maybe-a-little-mean-on-purpose 12 year old with no allegiances NDNDNHSJ she’d find out lancer was in your inventory and just talk to him the whole time and ignore you and the only reason he doesn’t immediately ditch you for trying to tell her what to do is bc lancer is there and he wants to talk to him bc he seems like fun. have a good day too :]
I just love how carefree mulder and scully are in david’s episodes, it’s a side of them we so rarely got to see… 😔😔😔
yeah, me too. david writes journeys for mulder, with clear morals and arcs. the unnatural is about valuing “life on this planet,” finding space for joy and connection in the midst of blinding pursuit. amor fati is about commitment to your purpose, realigning to who you are at the core, who you were as a child. the promises that you made to yourself then. hollywood a.d. is about legacy, what we leave behind: does it matter if it’s warped, or if it’s nothing, so long as we loved and were loved well?
david’s episodes are classic hero’s journeys, active lessons for mulder as a character. but these are all things that scully already knows, so she gets to be passive and lighthearted and wise. they aren’t having anything beaten into them; they’re growing through storytelling, through play, through identification. they’re growing through watching a movie at 3am and rambling to each other. they’re growing through eating gross fake ice cream and reading old newspapers on a saturday morning. they’re growing through swinging a baseball bat, hips before hands, all night under the stars.
last month when fall out boy made the executive decision to play just one yesterday for the 8 ball at my show, that move launched me to the outer edge of our solar system and i have yet to come down from that high. every time the song comes on i am on cloud nine, still in disbelief it Actually Happened.
last week i saw my cousin and he cheerfully asked, “how was the concert?” i answered casually, “it was good, it was really good!” but i had to bite my tongue because i wanted to go into great depth about the 8 ball segment, the song they chose, last time it was played, how so very special it is to me, how badly i wanted it, and how mind blowing it is that everything lined up and that’s what i got. but, i held back. because not only is there not another soul in my life as Insane about this as i am, they all Really Don’t Care.
Do you have any opinions on what kind of music mav and ice like? I’m just curious as someone who has motorcycle riding 80s navy dad whose favorite two artists were Madonna and Bruce Springsteen if you think the answer would surprise us? Or if they’d be as predictable as always
Yeah nothing crazy. kinda predictable i guess. classic rock, country rock, classic blues, nostalgic 60s folk, contemporary stuff when it comes on the radio and isn’t unlistenable by their middle-aged-white-man standards.
+ of course ice’s somewhat gay Fleetwood Mac entanglement
