what the fuck. what the fuck what the fu k.
rick riordan I am a whole ass adult now how tf are you taking a wrecking ball to my emotions AT THIS POINT. SHOULDN’T WE BE PAST THIS.
what the fuck Meg took in all of her foster siblings to help them live a life after Nero. she’s showing them a world that can be kind, where people will say what they mean, and where mistakes don’t deserve punishment.
BUT THEN ALSO. Apollo. Went back.
And for Meg and her siblings, everything about their lives has changed and improved. But Apollo just… goes back to Olympus. Where Zeus continues to rule with an iron fist, where no one was even able to stick up for him, where every other Olympian lives in fear of Zeus’s anger. And he’s still there, he’s still in charge, but Apollo knows BETTER now. He knows that things can be different. He knows that he can be different, and he’s making the decision to be better now than he was before.
But now he doesn’t fit. He doesn’t fit with the Olympians, who weren’t a healthy family even before this, and he doesn’t fit with his new friends, either, because he’s a god again. He can go see them and talk with them and help them, but he’ll always have to leave again. He can never stay.
The last few chapters of The Tower of Nero were so beautiful and amazing - getting to see everyone else living their happy endings (as much as any demigod can), but they were always tinged with… loneliness. Apollo is separate from them all again. He can teleport at will, he can change his appearance to anything, he can separate his consciousness… and that’s all great, he wanted all of that back…
But by the end? He kind of wanted to stay human. And there’s no resolution for him. He’s gone through this incredible, difficult, terrifying, life-changing adventure… and he came back, and everything’s the same. Kinda makes me think of Luke, going off on his quest, coming back different, harder, sharper… and finding Camp exactly like how he left it, with everyone expecting him to just slot himself back into the place he had before, when that space doesn’t fit him anymore.
And Apollo has what Luke didn’t - friends who knew him as he was changing, who love this new person he’s become, and even a sister whose affection won’t change no matter what happens. He’s going to be okay, I know that.
But there’s just… something so quietly tragic in the end of Apollo’s story. He doesn’t get his own personal happy ending. His “triumph” is a return to a divine status that he’s not necessarily sure he even wants anymore. He has to forge his own path forward towards his own happiness, and we don’t get to join him on it. We got to be with him through his Trials - his future is up to him, now.

Hello people of tumblr! :)
I am not used to using this app but I thought i would give it a shot as the fandom works featured here are straight up the best things i've found on the internet, and the community seems just AMAZING on all regards!!! So I thought, yk, that I would share my ideas for this AU fic that perhaps maybe I would write sometimes...... idk....
Actor Bucky x Model Buck
Set in the 90s, this AU follows this rough outline : despite the 90s being a time of counterculture for the youth, (grunge, alternative movies being pushed forward and towards larger audiences) and being out of the 80s and all it entails (glam rock and so on) there was this paradoxally reinforced idea of masculinity (leather jackets, men having to be "strong", etc.) and lattent ideas of homosexuality being a "bad, filthy thing" in some places, interlinked with the misinformations concerning the HIV epidemic (if you're gay, you'll get AIDS, you'll die in a few months, all this stuff), which causes the Bucks have to hide their relationship from the public in fear of retaliation and backlash.
Buck is a male model, in a decade in which supermodels are emerging, and put on a pedestal : it's a decent job for him, despite not being a Claudia Schiffer or a Kate Moss (as female models, especially in that decade, were getting paid way more than male models, and overall just represented couture houses more than men did.). People know his face, he's had a few campaigns, but it's not enough to make him one of the A-list celebrities, not that he minds. He's slimmer than what is the norm for male models, but compensates it with his face : it is his strength as much as his weakness concerning bookings. He is known by his peers as this wise and generally kind man, not overly flairy as people can sometimes be in their industry, and overall very discreet about his personal life. He is extremely professional, a master of his craft that knows exactly what is expected of him at any time.
Bucky, on the other hand, is an actor. Freshly discovered among the rest of a new generation of actors, he climbs steadily and surely his way to the top, and has people from all over the USA watching his career with interest. He acts in movies which in our timeline would feel like "The Matrix" ; "Trainspotting" ; "Fight Club", and all of those sorts of very "mainstream yet still posessing their bit a flair" movies. He's extending his choices and taking more risks, ones that could perhaps lead him to great rewards (not that he is especially looking for it : Bucky would be content to act in a short movie by a middle schooler if it was done with love and passion.) Charming, bubbly, he is loved by many of teenage girls (and others, ofc :p). Everyone has a story about Bucky, be it good or bad. "Oh yeah, he bought me a car when mine broke down" says a make-up artist on a set. "He got so drunk he forgot I was here and punched me square in the face when i got up to pee" says his friend Curt Biddick.
Tumblr media
(i made an ugly ass moodboard for the vibes)
-> now i'm gonna dump random infos for no particular reasons
TW : mentions of drugs, alcohol, homophobic cliches.
-They met at a party/gala of some sort for a brand, for which Buck modeled and Bucky was ambassador : it didn't click right away, but closely enough for it to feel like fate played a part in it.
-Buck is kind of excluded during parties as he's fully sober, whether it's from drugs or alcohol : a rarity, in the modeling world, and often not a welcome one.
-Bucky on the other hand, is a bit too much of a party monster : he drinks a lot, perhaps snorts a little cocaine in the bathroom, takes a little speed... Which GREATLY concerns Buck.
-Bucky is as cocky in his confidence and his career as he fears (and represses A LOT) the possibility of everything tumbling down and just going back to being nobody (THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE LOVED BY EVERYONE)
-He's terrified that fame will change him, that he will become a parody version of himself, that people will only know and like the version of himself he presents them and nothing else, not seeing his worth as a person, as an individual of flesh and feelings.
-Between the two of them, he's the one who desperately wants to tell the general audience about their relationship, not caring about the consequences, because in his eyes, love is love, and there sure as hell ain't nothing wrong with loving Gale Cleven, and people should know that he loves him, that they love each other, that they're a pair, that life only ever feels complete when they stand side by side, hanging in each other's orbits. They sometimes argue over this.
-Buck, on the other hand, wishes for their relationship to stay a secret, as he fears if it was to be known, it would taint Bucky's image, this very manly, confident and suave man, mingle it with dumb cliches (in a gay couple one is a "Folle" and the other has to be effeminate, because they're like GIRLS yk) and that it would basically ruin his career, tarnish his talent and hard work, get him blacklisted from most studios/directors and only perhaps offered type-casted roles in homophobic movies written by straight men. Buck could not stand seeing the love of his life being disgraced in the public's eyes, just because of some dumbass cliches, because of his love for him.
-Marjorie (Marge) covers for Buck. She's his front : They are seen dining together and huddling on benches by paparazzis, giggling and talking as they walk in the street, and that's enough. Their story makes people dream, these two young people who grew up together and fell in love, still a couple until this day, still loving each other as much as they did on the first day... They are a lavender couple (when both member of a relationship are queer, and use their couple to cover any suspicions) which helps making Buck and Bucky seem like just buddies. Marjorie is most likely not famous, or if so, she'd be more of a writer than anything else.
-Bucky is EXTREMELY jealous and FUMES whenever he cannot kiss Buck in public, touch him, do his little Bucky things, make Buck feel his. Despite that, he's sort of reckless and allows himself gestures that would not fly were the two men not viewed as pinacle of masculinity and a great example of brotherly love. Buck can't even bring himself to ressent him for it, and does not hold it against him : he too wishes they could hold hands on red carpets.
-Bucky is basically a disaster waiting to happen at some point, a pressure cooker dangerously whistling : he bottles everything he feels, just grits his teeth and says he's fine when dark times arise, drowns himself in alcohol and wishes to forget about his worries, thinks about simpler times when he had none at all. Gale stays by his side, no matter what, no matter his terrifying relationship with alcohol and the memories of his father.
-They live together, despite the risks : Buck couldn't bear having to say no to Bucky when he bought their appartment with a huge check from the royalties he earned over his first blockbuster. It is approprietly cozy : most of the decorum is Buck's doing, but Bucky's things still find their ways in there ; baseball posters, pictures, awards and silly little drawings on stick-it notes... It feels like home, to both of them.
-They probably have bought some sort of ranch or farm, somewhere, to run away from the city when things get crazy : they bask reverently in the fact that there, nothing they do or say matters, watching the sunsets on their patios, enjoying the melody of nature without any civilization.
That's pretty much it for now, I'll most likely add things later! :D I'm begging you to excuse any mistake I made, i'm just a poor French person trying her best. Don't hesitate to tell me how you feel and stuff, I am so nervous to make this post you can't imagine lmaoo
To end things, I guess I'll just post an extract of a wip, a written transcription of a fake interview Bucky probably had on some talk show!!! :]

Back then, if we could have heard each others voices, everything would have been so much better.
But the wind didn't carry our words, and the snow didn't record our footsteps. All that was left were the memories of what could have been, frozen in time like the ice that covered everything else.
We continued our separate lives, never truly knowing what the other was thinking or feeling. Sometimes, in the silence of the night, I would wonder if she ever thought of me at all.
October/2019
The sky was covered in a heavy blanket of clouds, threatening to unleash its fury at any moment. The grasses seemed to have a party with the wind, dancing in their own rhythm, as screams and laughter echoed through the air.
A group of middle schoolers was gathered around a small clearing, laughing and shouting as they played a game of tag.
The wind picked up, sending leaves and twigs flying through the air. A particularly strong gust caused a nearby tree to sway violently, its branches scratching against the sky, a 15-year-old girl sat down under the tree, watching the group play tag. She looked a bit bored as if she had seen all this before.
she sighed, looking back to her lap her eyes scanning the pages of her book. The wind picked up even more, rustling the leaves around her and causing her hair to whip around her face. She pushed it back out of her eyes and went back to her book, lost in the words it contained.
Suddenly, a particularly strong gust of wind blew through the clearing, sending the book flying out of the girl's hands. Startled, she jumped to her feet, her heart racing as she watched the book tumble through the air. With a groan, she dashed after it, her legs carrying her quickly across the grass.
As she neared the group of middle schoolers, she noticed a hand reaching out and grabbing the book just before it fell to the ground. A boy around her age stood there, a mischievous grin on his face. "Well, well, what do we have here?" he teased, holding the book above his head.
The girl's eyes widened as she realized who the boy was. He was in her class, but she didn't really know him. His name was Matt, and he was sort of popular in her school.
Matt continued to tease her, "Come on, you can have it back. I just wanted to see what you were reading that was so important." He smiled at her, his blue eyes twinkling. She hesitated for a moment, wondering whether to trust him or not.
She reached out, trying to grab the book from him. her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. Matt just laughed, stepping back and holding the book further away from her. "you can't have everything your own way, you know," he teased, grinning.
The girl felt her heart race faster. She wasn't sure if she should try to take the book from him or just walk away. As she hesitated, a flash of lightning lit up the sky, followed by a deafening crack of thunder.
The wind howled even louder, sending leaves and twigs swirling through the air. The group of middle schoolers playing tag nearby barely seemed to notice the storm brewing around them.
Matt glanced at the dark clouds gathering above, a slight frown tugging at the corners of his mouth. He didn't want to get caught in the rain, but he wasn't about to let her have the book just yet. "Looks like the weather's turning," he said, his voice barely above the roar of the wind. "Maybe I should head back."
She narrowed her eyes at him, she just wanted her book back. Matt suddenly turned to look at her frowning his eyebrow" What's that" he asked making her look at him in confusion.
He quickly reached his free hand to her ear, pulling out a device from it. "Oh," he muttered amused as he studied the hearing aids in his hands.
The boy looked up at her smirking" Want these back ?" He asked teasingly " Oh wait forgot you can't hear my bad" he added before extending his arm to hand her the hearing aids, the girl smiled softly but as soon as she reached out her hand to grab the aids she let out a gasp and her smile dropped as the boy's hand opened and the hearing aids fell to the floor, without hesitation Matt stomped on the hearing aids with a grin on his face. "Now what are you going to do huh?" he asked with a smirk.
Panic rose within the girl as she watched the boy destroy the only thing that made her feel normal like all the other kids. She couldn't believe he would do something so cruel.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she struggled to comprehend what had just happened. The wind howled even louder, making it difficult for her to think clearly.
She glanced around, hoping someone would step in and help her, but the group of middle schoolers playing nearby seemed oblivious to the situation.
Matt continued to taunt her, "What are you going to do now, huh? You can't even hear me anymore!" He let out a laugh before turning to leave, disappearing into the crowd of children.
The girl felt helpless and alone, her heart breaking as she knelt down to inspect the remains of her hearing aids.
She could hardly believe that someone could be so cruel.
How could I be so cruel? She was so pure, so innocent, and yet I was constantly ruining her, just because I couldn't figure out my own feelings.
Every time I tried to explain how much she meant to me, I ended up making things worse. It was like opening a wound and pouring salt into it. I hated myself for it, but I couldn't seem to stop.

home back to you - pt 1
So my friends knew this was coming - finally posting the first part of the Steve/tommy/carol post S2 fic ❤️
Summary:
Steve’s fight with Billy is exactly the kick in the pants Tommy (and Carol) need to make amends with Steve. Now if only Steve and his weird security detail full of bratty middle schoolers made it easier to talk to him. The Steve/Tommy/Carol post-s2 fic that no one has been asking for but me <3
AO3 Link | Pt. 2
Minor tw: some ableist language, tommy badmouthing Jonathan and Nancy (tho this is NOT a bashing fic), the S2 shower scene being weird as hell
Tommy thought that Billy Hargrove was the best thing to happen to Hawkins High since Steve Harrington ditched his throne (and Tommy and Carol along with it).
Billy was wild in a way that was hard to match, sending fire thrumming through Tommy’s veins and scorching the hole that Steve had left behind. He was making things exciting again, shaking up the social hierarchy in a way that Tommy felt (or well, Carol pointed out) he could use to his advantage. It didn’t take long for the two of them to be practically attached at the hip, reminding him of earlier, easier days.
(Days he was trying hard to forget.)
A part of him was also watching how Billy circled Ste- Harrington, like a hawk circling its prey, reminding him of the nature documentaries he liked to watch when he was sick. It would worry him, maybe, the look in Billy’s eyes, if he wasn’t hoping this would be the thing that truly unseated Steve. That made him return to normal, drop Wheeler and come crawling back to him and Carol.
(He thought that Steve would’ve broken up with Nancy months ago, they’d never fought for this long before-)
Tommy came to regret that sentiment after everything played out.
It started at practice – well, if Tommy was being honest with himself (which he was trying to get better at, with mixed results), it likely started from the first moment that Billy laid his ice blue eyes on Harrington, that night at Tina’s party.
He hadn’t noticed it then, not as drunk as he was pretending to be but drunker than he really meant to be, thrumming with adrenaline (and something that felt strangely like attraction, though, that didn’t really make any sense) as Billy in one fatal blow, beat Steve’s record and became the new Keg King.
Tommy had felt bad about how excited he was, knowing that Steve, Carol, and him had worked hard to learn how to hold their liquor. That didn’t stop the petty part of him from being happy about it.
Not only was the new kid already putting Harrington in his place, maybe this would be the thing that caused Steve to turn (his) their way again. Cause him to care about his reputation a little more. He’d worked so hard for it – they all had – he didn’t get how he could just drop it so easily.
(How he could drop them so easily.)
Tommy was so sure this was the first step in finally pulling Steve’s head out of his ass – (show him that he and Carol didn’t need him) – that he introduced Billy to him that night.
Like he said, he didn’t realize it then, but that was the real start of it.
The start as he remembered it was at basketball practice the next day.
Billy was… competitive with Steve on the court.
Which, of course he was, Ste- Harrington managed to stay aloft in the social hierarchy, despite dropping all of his actual friends because of his place on the basketball team.
Basketball was the biggest sport in the school, in the county, and not just because everyone around was a fan of the Hoosiers, though that definitely played a part. Back when they were still sophomores, Tommy and Steve had helped lead the school to its first championship in years.
Steve shot the winning shot and got the keg king title at the after party, in one fell swoop securing his place not only in the Hawkins history books but also his spot at the top of the high school’s food chain for the rest of his high school career.
The next year they made him captain, and Harrington was good at being captain. Though he spent most of his time with Wheeler and even Byers (which, really? The guy that his almost-girlfriend cheated on him with? He was preferable to Tommy and Carol? His best friends since grade school?) he still made sure to dedicate time to the team, both on and off the court. And the team respected him for that.
(Tommy had to respect him for that, too. Even if it wasn’t fair that the only time Tommy got St- Harrington was when they were hanging out as a team.)
If Billy could unseat Steve on the court and with the team, his reign would be all but guaranteed. So, it made some sort of sense to Tommy as he watched Billy push their captain around, get in his face, yell at him to ‘plant his feet’. Tommy could see that Harrington wasn’t at his best, almost seeming hungover.
Thing was, despite how gone Tommy himself was, he knew that Steve hadn’t drank much that night. Aside from the fact that losing his Keg King title wasn’t enough to lure him into doing his own keg stand, he’s pretty sure he saw Wheeler hitting the punch bowl more than Stev- Harrington was. Especially when it led to a loud argument in Tina’s bathroom.
Even if he had been blackout drunk, Tommy would be able to tell when Steve was trying not to cry.
(He’d have to ask Carol later if it was possible to be emotionally hungover.)
The predatorial posturing was interrupted by Wheeler appearing at the door. Normally, it wouldn’t be odd to see her at practice. Tommy had seen her working on homework (gross) on the bleachers before, and even would occasionally pop in when doing a story for the school paper, but she had never interrupted like this before, with frustration visibly leaking off of her.
Ste- Harrington sighed and followed her out, waving to the coach. For once, he didn’t look like he was literally walking on air when approaching her.
“That Harrington’s girl?” Billy asked, sliding to a controlled stop next to Tommy.
He responded without thinking, “Not sure she will be after today.”
Billy threw his head back and let out a mocking laugh. Tommy flushed as he watched the sweat from Billy’s mullet trickle down his chest. He forced himself to look away as Coach blew the whistle.
Two days later Tommy got his confirmation.
“Wheeler isn’t here today, again,” Carol said, appearing beside his locker as he closed the door. He didn’t jump, used to his girlfriend appearing out of nowhere. “And you’ll never guess who else is missing.”
Tommy’s mouth dropped.
“No.”
“That fucking creep, Byers.”
Seemed like Tommy had been right. Steve and Wheeler had broken up.
(If they hadn’t yet, Steve sure wasn’t going to take her back this time. Talk about turning into your parents-)
He felt suddenly energized, riding on a high that carried him all the way through to afternoon practice. Especially with the way Billy’s eyes lit up at the little piece of gossip.
He decided to follow Billy’s lead on this, waiting for him to bring it up to Harrington. During practice, he mostly shoved the other around, taunting him and generally running circles around him. Tommy could tell that Harrington’s head still wasn’t in the game, and it reflected on the rest of his scrimmage team. They trounced them.
(Tommy almost felt bad about it, but the bitter part of him didn’t.)
Coach pulled Steve aside, probably to try and figure out ‘what the hell was up with him’, and the rest if the team hit the showers. Tommy and Billy both drew the short stick, getting some of the last shower slots, which was… not a problem exactly.
Tommy preferred to shower last, normally taking a little extra time to shoot hoops and shoot the shit. The less time spent in the locker room around his naked teammates, the better. Why would he want to spend time around a bunch of naked guys, anyway? Though, it was more time spent loitering around in his gross clothes than he really wanted.
Anyway, he wasn’t sure why he felt so uneasy about it.
Steve (Harrington dammit) still wasn’t done talking to the Coach by the time Tommy and Billy were finally able to get under that sweet, freezing water. He lifted his chin up towards the spray, savoring the feeling, letting it center him. His eyes were clenched shut, so he didn’t get soap in them.
(Not for any other reason at all.)
Right as he was ready to get out, Steve finally entered the showers. Tommy’s eyes popped open just in time to see the smirk crawl across Billy’s face.
“Don’t sweat it, Harrington,” he said, wiping water from his face as he stared intensely at their captain. “Today’s just not your day, man.”
“Yeah, not your week,” Tommy was quick to add on, eager to rub his newfound knowledge in his face. “You and the princess break up for one day, and she’s already running off with the school Creep.” He leaned around the shower pole to make eye contact with Steve.
Steve just stared at him, a note of confusion on his face before his eyes flickered down to his fancy soap impatiently. Surprise and glee flooded through Tommy.
“Oh shit, you don’t know,” he said, unable to keep his grin from growing. Steve continued with his routine, trying to ignore him. “Jonathan and the princess skipped yesterday. Still haven’t shown.”
His former best friend was refusing to look at him, but Tommy could see the way his mouth had tightened. He leaned against the pole, as close as he would allow himself to get in that moment.
“But that must just be a coincidence, right?”
Steve glanced at him before he grabbed his even fancier shampoo. The brief moment of eye contact was almost too much for Tommy. Steve kept his expression cold and uncaring, but Tommy knew him well enough still, could see the pinch around his eyes. The distaste. They were standing too close.
Tommy couldn’t stop the laughter that burst out of him, one part mocking, the other veering into hysterics, and turned away to grab his towel.
He didn’t really pay attention to what Billy said after that, trying to get his head on straight, but he couldn’t miss the way Billy’s mouth wrapped around the words “pretty boy”.
The town had an eerie feeling hanging over it that weekend.
He stayed over at Carol’s house all three nights. It was only meant to be one or two, but then both of her parents got called into work because of some sort of weird flu or food poisoning or whatever was going around.
Neither of them were fans of sleeping alone, though neither of them would admit it.
(Not that they really needed to admit it, after knowing each other this long, dating for this long. They didn’t need to waste time on pointless conversation.)
A pack of wild dogs seemed to be roaming through the woods, filling it with feral sounding snarls and leaving trails of debris everywhere. Tommy thought it was odd how they seemed to come out of nowhere, but it wasn’t uncommon for people to ditch animals on the side of the road, so didn’t give it too much thought.
Come Monday morning, the strangeness continued when Billy pulled up to school quieter than normal, rage hanging from his shoulders. His little sister wasn’t in the car with him for once, but Tommy just figured she was sick or something. He didn’t completely understand their family dynamic, honestly.
“Man, what happened to your face?” he exclaimed in surprise once the other man drew closer.
Vicki, who had been chatting with Carol, gasped dramatically and ran up to him, clucking her tongue and simpering at him. Billy put up with it, but didn’t have as heated of a smile to give her as he normally did, to her agitation.
“Had to teach someone a lesson,” he grunted, throwing his around her as something of a consolation. She huffed a little but snuggled up to him anyway, accepting the unspoken apology.
Privately, Tommy thought that it looked like someone had taught Billy the lesson, not the other way around. He wondered if it was Steve, and was privately impressed. He didn’t know Steve had it in him to go after someone like that, but maybe he’d been right. Maybe Wheeler ditching him was the kick in the pants he’d needed all along.
Tommy couldn’t wait to see what he might do, might say, when he got to school that day.
But Steve wasn’t at school that day, he didn’t show up to school that entire week.
He would’ve been worried, but Steve didn’t need him to worry about him anymore. He’d made that clear.
(Tommy was worried anyway.)
That week, he distracted himself by spending time with Billy. There was a sense of unease around the man at all times, but it lessened slightly as the week went on. Tommy could tell that he was fixating on him a little bit, more than he had with anyone other than Carol (or Steve) in ages.
Carol thought the whole thing was funny, giggling with Vicki and Nicole over milkshakes as Tommy, Billy, and whatever other members of the basketball team they dragged along with them were their normal rowdy selves. She knew how Tommy could get – had known him since he moved to this god forsaken town.
All that to say, he was feeling pretty good, despite the conspicuous absence of Harrington at their practices.
That peace was shattered the day he came back.
Tommy didn’t actually see Steve during the actual school day on Monday, but he did see the ripples that were sent through the student body. Whispers filled the halls, but cut off abruptly when Billy walked through them.
Carol’s lips were pinched at lunch, but she refused to tell him why. Wanted more information before she told him. She hated not having the full picture.
Looking back, it wouldn’t have mattered if she had told him. Nothing would have prepared him for seeing Steve that day.
Tommy stopped short when he saw Ste- Harring- Steve shuffling out of Coach’s office that afternoon. He had sunglasses on, but they couldn’t hide the rainbow mosaic on his face, a mix of purples and blues and yellows and greens – bruises all in different stages of healing. He looked like he’d been run over by a truck.
Tommy felt like he’d been hit by a truck. What the hell had happened?
Billy wouldn’t have done that, would he?
“Steve?” he called out, unable to stop himself from saying something. Ignoring the fact that that was the first time he had called Steve by his first name in literal months. He wasn’t really concerned with that right now, not trying to hide how much he cared. Not when Steve’s face looked like that.
Steve turned, his hair flopping limply. It was obvious he had done something to it, but not much. He never let it get this… lusterless in public. His face scrunched up, obviously squinting despite the sunglasses.
With a sigh that seemed to be masking a tired groan, Steve said, “I’m not in the mood, Hagan.”
Tommy knew getting last-named shouldn’t hurt (he and Steve had been doing it for months at this point, wielding it like a weapon every time they bothered to talk to each other), but it did.
“What happened to your face?” he asked, pushing down the hurt and unconsciously echoing the same question he asked Billy the week before.
“What do you think?” Steve scoffed, tossing his head back like he always did when rolling his eyes. This seemed to be a bad idea, since he immediately rocked back forward with a wince. “Your new best friend broke a plate over my head.”
Tommy reared back. “He did what?”
“Oh, he didn’t tell you?” he said, sounding incredibly bitter. “I shouldn’t be surprised. Probably didn’t want to admit that the only reason he wasn’t arrested for being a fucking psycho is because Hopper had other things to worry about.”
There seemed to be a strange ringing sound echoing through the halls, and it confused Tommy until he realized it was just his ears.
Billy did that?
Tommy didn’t want to believe it, not only because it just didn’t make sense (it made perfect sense, Billy had always seemed a little off to Tommy but he was too obsessed with him to care-) but because this wasn’t how it was supposed to go.
People got into petty fights all the time and normally no one was that fucked up at the end of it. A couple of bruises, maybe a broken nose or a black eye, something for the girls to coo over and for other guys to be subtly impressed by, knowing that guy was a guy that shouldn’t be messed with. The worst fight he’d seen happen was when Creepy Byers lost his shit on Steve the year before.
(Tommy wondered for a second what it was about Steve that made guys lose their gourd over him, but shoved that thought out of his mind.)
This- this wasn’t what was supposed to happen.
This wasn’t what he wanted.
Steve seemed to take his shocked silence for some sort of answer, because he sighed quietly to himself.
“It’s like talking to a brick wall, I swear,” he said, walking past him with a hand on his temple, massaging around the bandage he was only now noticing.
He moved aside to let him pass automatically, not sure how to get his mouth working again. Steve started towards the entrance, but paused suddenly, turning to call one last thing to his former best friend.
“Be careful around Billy, Tommy,” he said, using his first name for the first time in a year. “He’s more dangerous than you think he is.”

They still haven't learned their lesson from the Game of Thrones Season 8 cataclysm ... and they probably never will
I'm old enough - probably an old man by Tumblr standards - to remember the premieres of the first five seasons of Game of Thrones in which the show eases the viewer back into the world and the setting. the first two episodes of an early Season of GOT was set up and characterization, reintroducing the characters and their status-quo to open the season.
This was the hallmark of good writing in a set up for a ten episode season structure.
However, GOT began to sink when they divorced themselves from that structure for the need of thrills and kills every five fucking seconds, hitting the gas peddle right off the fucking cliff.
Now, I see that they're doing it again. But this time it's "House of the Dragon".
Tell me, in what fucking universe is it a good idea to do "Blood & Cheese" in the premiere?
We don't know Team Green well enough. Fuck dude, we haven't even seen Team Green fully assembled with their best dude Daeron away from home. We don't know what their family dynamics are, we don't know the relationship between Aegon and his children are, we don't even know how anyone feels about Daeron yet. We don't even know if we're getting college boy Daeron studying in the Hightower or war veteran Daeron fresh from the Stepstones.
To do "Blood & Cheese" right away, without any set-up of characterization or status-quo, picking up right after 1x10 is the absolute worst kind of exploitive emotionally manipulating tripe that sank "Game of Thrones" in the end.
It's literally soulless shock jock armature hour shit to exploit a dead baby for a cheap pop from the audience.
I mean where's the fire?! Where are you rushing off too?! What is the big fucking hurry? The drama post Luke's death and the ambiguity waiting Aemond at the Red Keep should be enough to get an audience hooked without jamming in the murder of a baby for an astro turf boost in the ratings.
"Come, come, look at our show ... we kill babies!"
That's what a "Blood and Cheese" in the premier is going to look like to a normie and it ain't going to go the way they think it will. No one is interested anymore in GRRM's Nihilistic world anymore. People are tired and have moved on from subversion in a narrative.
I swear to Christ the level of retard that goes on in the "House of the Dragon" writers room and among their producers is just top notch foolishness.
Look, Jaehaerys is going to die, "Blood & Cheese" is gonna happen, it has to, that's part of the story, yeah? But there's a difference between integrating it into the fabric of the story, weaving the tragedy deeply into the complex tangible human characters. And then there's what the writers are doing now, which is acting like some edge-lord middle schooler who thinks they're cool cause they're atheist, listen to "The Smiths" and have a dead baby joke book.
It must get cramped in that clown car of a writer's room.
Just shoot me, fucking shoot me!

Ahhhhhhhh, I am so so so sorry! I got into character ai recently and next thing I know 2 weeks has passed. It was all a blur- ugh I feel bad and now I have to slowly transition out that writing style to the writing style of this. So enjoy this, cause fuck I lost track of time so hard... I'll try to finish the 2nd chapter soon since I usually write fast. I just need time to resist the urge to go back to that site. Also it was super fun got a husband, lover, and son. Went through hell to get there but it was worth it.
I Saw You Once In a Dream, Maybe|| Pt. 8
Tumblr media
You immediately chase down Monkey King and your mother. Hoping that he doesn’t spout out any more nonsense to your mother.
“Oh- stop telling her lies! Mom please don’t listen to him!”
Monkey King just smirks at you as lean onto the kitchen counter. While your mother looks at you confused.
“What do you mean? Don’t pretend, I saw you kissing him outside the house~” She said with a smile.
You felt your face turn red, quickly cover it with your hand. This was getting too much.
“That was- ugh, mom please, he was just messing around, we are NOT getting married.” You state trying to keep your cool.
“Oh~ weren’t you the one dreaming about our wedding day?” He said, giving you the most shit-eating grin. Your mother’s eyes went wide and looked at you with such excitement, you couldn’t help but feel nervous.
“You? I never thought I would see the day my sweet child would- when’s the wedding day?”
“You two are unbelievable.” You pinch the bridge of your nose and sigh with frustration. “Mom, you said you wanted me to pick up something, what was it?”
She let out a laugh.
“That can wait, I want to know about my child’s special someone. This is the first time you brought them home. He must be very special to you.”
Monkey King raises an eyebrow.
“Really? Well, it makes sense we are getting married soon.”
You feel your face get redder as this goes on. You're an adult, not some middle schooler dealing with some crush. You sigh shakily and calm your blushing face.
“You know what? Fine! Sure, I'm too tired for this. Mom, please what was the thing you wanted to give me?”
“Sweetheart, you know I was just teasing you a bit. Let me go get it- I was cleaning the attic and found some of your old things.” She went to the living room and brought out a small box. “I thought you wanted these back.”
You open the box to see what was inside. Just some old things, old journals, books, pictures, and hard drives.
“Oh I remember these! I've been looking for these books too! So it was in the attic, I must have put them there and forgot about it. Thanks, mom.”
Monkey King looks over your shoulder to see. You just push his head back and laugh.
“What I just wanted to see?” He said laughing along.
“This is my old stuff, I’m not going to let you see. Anyways you were really pushing it with that joke.”
He just laughs before giving you space again.
“Sorry, I just couldn’t help it.”
“You two are so sweet, oh also, I made pie earlier today. Here let me hand you a plate to take.”
She grabs a container and cuts a large slice. Before handing it to you.
“Thank you, mom. Take care alright?”
She nods and leads the two of you back to the front door.
“That goes for you too! Also-” She turns to Monkey King with a smirk. “Take care of my child, they matter to me a lot.”
“MOM!”
“Don't worry, I will.” He said laughing.
Your face turned red as you both left. Monkey King walks beside you with a smug expression on his face, while you look forward with a stern face.
“I should have left you at Pigsy’s.”
“Yet you didn't! I'm enjoying our little date.”
“Date?! This is not a date! We barely met just a few hours ago!”
“-And now, apparently getting married.” His grin widens as he glances at you. A hit of mischief in his eyes.
“We are NOT getting married.” You mutter out.
“I mean, you were the one who has been dreaming of our wedding day.”
“Now I'm thinking, those dreams were a warning. Maybe I should listen and-” You pause as you glance at him, finally smirking. “-Stay away from you.”
You pick up your pace and laugh. His smug face falls as he looks worried and nervous.
“Okay, okay, I'm sorry. I was just joking around.” He immediately picks up his pace and apologizes.
“I'll stop! Please, I just thought it was cute and wanted to joke around.” He quickly explains.
“It's just, I wanted to talk and hang out with you but whenever I do, I get so nervous and chicken out.”
His face was getting red and looked away from you.
“Actually, now that you mention it. When did you meet me?”
“W-well, it's just…okay so I usually shapeshift into a bird whenever I want to see the city and during those times… I ran into you…” He clears his throat and turns his head to the side, embarrassed. “You were taking pictures and snapped a shot at me.”
“Wait, the little brown bird that always follows me around! That was you?!”
His face turned red and couldn’t look you in the eyes.
“Y-yes, that was me. I wanted to talk to you, but I was afraid you'd freak out so I thought, I'll get the kid to help me out and- well here we are.” He finally turns his head to you. His cheeks slightly red, as he smiles at you.
“Look, I really didn’t mean to joke around that far and made you uncomfortable. I just got too excited and got carried away.”
You stayed silent for a while, as you two walked down the street.
“Today was…something but it wasn’t bad. As much as you made me frustrated earlier, today was fun. So don’t worry too much about it, anyways it’s been a while since I saw my mom that excited.”
Monkey King's gaze softens at you. He lets out a small laugh, his posture relaxing.
“Still, I shouldn’t have told your mom that. After we first met…even though technically this is our first time talking to one another.”
You bump into his arm, to nudge him, and roll your eyes.
“It had been a long while since I hung out with anybody this long. Usually I keep to myself, but this was nice. Thank you for tagging along.”
“You don't have to thank me, I just wanted to actually talk with you for once. I should be thanking you for giving me a chance!”
You smile at him softly. Feeling touched by his words. For once, you didn't feel lonely. As the two of you went on chatting, you realized that the feeling hadn't plagued you since meeting him and it felt nice. Instead, all you felt was a soft warmth in your heart that seemed to grow the longer he stayed by your side.
It wasn't long until you both made it to your house. You turned on the lights, as you lead him to the living room.
“Make yourself at home. Let me put these down somewhere and we can head out to get some groceries.”
Monkey King sits on the couch and sighs. As you went to the kitchen and placed the small container on the counter and put the small box away in your room.
“You got a nice place here.”
“Why, thank you. If you like it so much, you can stay here and rest while I get groceries.” You said while walking up to the couch.
“Hmm, tough choice. I mean, it would be nice to tag along but your couch feels nice, I can definitely take a small nap here.” He said laying on the couch. “You know what? I'll tag along if you ask me~”
You felt your face flush from the request. Will you actually ask him to accompany you or will you leave him here on the couch? Is there even a bad choice to make in this situation? Who knows~

'THE TRANSFER STUDENT'
Tumblr media
gif belongs to me
The mysterious transfer student with a southern drawl caught everyone's attention, a lot of girls saying hello in the hallways, always smiling and whispering to their friends whenever you gave a discreet nod in their direction. And it was clear to the group early on that Kimberly had a crush on you.
After joining their sessions at the Youth Centre, you became good friends with Jason, Tommy, and Billy - often aiding the latter in perfecting the moves. You often joined the team at Ernie's for shakes, and everyone was observing for clues that you felt the same way about Kimberly who, while not reserved nor over-confident, could never find the courage to ask you on a date.
Weeks after attending Angel Grove High, a routine began to form, and every Wednesday Kimberly knew you would be at Ernie's and would arrive before you started to teach your Karate class for middle schoolers. Today, however, you were running late and Kimberly was surprised and bummed that you weren't there when she arrived and joined the others who practiced. While Jason lifted weights, Zack helped Billy practice his kicks, and Kimberly helped Trini with her handstands.
Bulk and Skull approached the two girls after Trini performed a handstand, and Kimberly high-fived her for her improvement. You entered the Youth Centre a few minutes later, finding the boys were talking to Ernie at the bar, their backs turned while Bulk and Skull flirted, or attempted to flirt with the two girls. You pressed your lips together tightly in annoyance, a sigh leaving your lips as you approached the duo, who always seemed to be trying to score a date with the two girls who were clearly not interested.
"Hey," You stood behind Kimberly and Trini, who turned their heads to look at you, but your gaze was set on Bulk and Skull, "They said they're not interested. Leave them alone."
"And what are you going to do if we don't?" Bulk raised an eyebrow while Skull smacked his gum loudly.
"Yeah, what are you going to do?" He echoed, smirking.
You stepped between the two girls, standing in front of them, "I don't know yet. Nothin' good."
"What are you going to do, wimp?" Bulk pushed your chest and you dropped your bag. Kimberly and Trini watched with wide eyes as you zipped Bulk and Skull's jackets together, ducking behind them while they swung their arms, and pushed them towards the exit, causing them to stumble.
You picked up your bag and walked away as Kimberly turned to thank you, and the brunette let out a sigh, biting the inside of her cheek. If you glanced back you would've seen the depths of her feelings, but you remained oblivious as you approached the middle schoolers who were talking excitedly about the way you disposed of Bulk and Skull.
The next day you were walking down the hallway with your friends, passing Kimberly's locker where Jason, Tommy, and Trini were talking to the brunette who became distracted as you walked by. There were posters all over school about the dance in two weeks, and everyone knew she was hoping you would ask her.
"There's no way I can go to the dance, you guys."
"Why don't you ask him to the dance?" Tommy suggested.
"I can't ask him. Besides he probably has a date already." She closed her locker and Jason nudged her with his elbow gently when he noticed you approaching.
You greeted the four of them and adjusted the strap of your backpack on your shoulders as you looked at Kimberly. "Hey," You licked your lips when she clutched her books to her chest, looking at Jason, Trini, and Tommy who suddenly 'remembered' they had somewhere else to be and Kimberly bit the inside of her cheek anxiously. "I heard there's a dance coming up. I was wondering if you'd, maybe, wanna go with me?"
She smiled, "I'd love to go with you."
You mirrored the smile, your posture relaxing slightly, "Great. Do you want to grab a shake at Ernie's later?"
"Yeah, I would." Her smile grew and when you bid her goodbye, heading to class, Jason, Tommy, and Trini who had lingered nearby, filling Billy on the new developments, returned to find the brunette beaming with excitement.
"He asked me to the dance!"
"That's great!" and "That's awesome!" were voiced by Tommy and Jason.
"We're going to Ernie's later." Kimberly continued. "Wait, what if it's just as friends and not a date?"
"Trust me, from the way he was smiling at you it's a date." Trini grinned.
"Ah! I have a date! What am I going to wear?"
Jason and Tommy shook their heads as they followed the two girls as they discussed possible outfits, falling into step next to Billy who walked behind them. For the rest of the day, it would be all Kimberly could focus on.

tw: mention of r4pe and SA.
.
.
.
.
I really love Medusa, outside PJO, and she is a great character of greek mythology, however i'm kinda conflicted and between the sword and the wall, with some of Rick's decision, the reaction of pjo fans and ppl who love Roman and Greek myths
I get that Rick wanted to explore the narrative of the roman version (Poseidon r4p1ng,SAd or abuse her and Athena blamed her and turned her into stone), because it got popular for the narrative of the women and victims getting blamed and villianized and punished for the actions caused by men and abusers, in religion, and it got turned into a symbol of "me too" and causes more ppl to want to raise awareness.
Nothing wrong with the purpose,I'm all for BRINGING AWARENESS to others about r4p3,SA,sexual violence, etc. Everyone who is not sick, wants those non consensual acts that harm ppl to dissapear
but I think he could have used another myth to explore those topics, because using that portrayal of Medusa and Poseidon, makes things weirder??, for these reasons:
1. The book portrays Poseidon's and Percy's father-son dynamic: Percy's anger towards his father, but VERY deep down, craving for some of his attention, shifting towards a neutral, polite leaning towards a positive relationship, and the book portrays him like a man that is trying to be a cool father, despite his mistakes. And the book sometimes praises him for that??
Having in mind, the pjo series is supposed to teach and make kids,no matter their gender, sexual and romantic orientation, race and nationality, neurodivergencies and disabilities, we all can be amazing, smart, talented in our own ways, and deserve the same respect, wouldn't the parent-child dynamic Percy and Poseidon be weird? If ur main character keeps contact with someone like that??.
Wouldn't that normalize more than already is, of ppl,but mostly men, of keeping contact with nasty men, just because he is a relative or a friend?? and didn't hurt you?.
2. Why THE Sally Jackson, dated someone like Poseidon or even finishing in good terms?? like if my ex bf was an abuser with other ppl and not me. It doesn't matter, that relationship is ending in bad terms??
"Rick said he wanted to explored it. But he didn't say Medusa got r4ped,maybe he just abused of power. Or athena blamed Medusa because Poseidon crushed on her, pg-13"
Come on, Medusa's lines and way of wording references the roman version, besides everyone even kids ranging from 10-12 know what happened to Medusa
"But myths changes and develop, just to send a message, provides awareness"
You guys literally CHANGED the ORIGINAL myth of Persephone/Hades/Demeter, which HADES KIDNAPPED PERSEPHONE, AND DEMETER SEARCHING FOR HER DAUGHTER., and rewrite it with Persephone going WILLINGLY WITH HADES, just for u to fit the narattive of a "goth bad boy scary looking with bad reputation, but is chill and dates a flower softy girls, that he treats like queen".
and the reaction that the pjo fandom had to Medusa's backstory, is similar to any other fandom when a traumatised character exists, that can be harmful, it feels like a way of romanticizing? and I'm tired of it
"I'm glad they gave Medusa more depth"
Can we as a society stop acting like being victim of mental/physical/sexual abuse?, or any kind of trauma, gives you more depth??. No, trauma doesn't give us depth or make us more complex. Our point of view, our philosophy, our interests, our talents, our personalities does.
Because of that, I have seen middle schoolers and teenagers wanting some sort of trauma, just to be complex?? Which is sad and alarming.
I'm not sure what Riordan is planning or how is going to not mess up,but I hope I can see more of the cast acting more scenes of the book.

Dear pjo fandom
I just read the sun and the stars and i was so happy to come here and see all the little cute fan arts and what i find is a bunch of adults complaining about a child books series istg this fandom is one of the most toxic ones out there.
Now i could tell you that if you want to consume a product whatever it is movies, books,tv shows ecc that's explicitly for kids/preteens you have to approch it with the right mentality which is letting your inner child enjoy the product if you're 20+ something, cause of course the adult you won't feel the same wonder, and sure kids products don't have to be bad or bland and there are other things out there aimed at kids that are better than tsats BUT it's not a bad book, mark oshiro did such a good job at portraying healing and trauma, they also did an amazing job at presenting to middle schoolers the idea of romantic relationships being not all roses and flowers and unicorns, human relationships are hard no matter the kind, it's something difficult to accept and to deal with especially when every single fairy tale you read as a kid teaches you that there is a happily ever after, that after adversities everything gets solved and goes fine, when you grow up you learn that nothing is further from the truth than that, i could also tell you that of course the concept is extremely simplified but again it's a book for kids/preteens, i could tell you to not go for something you know it's not targeted to you if you want approch it in a cynical way, i could give you as example that reading tsats and wanting maturity out of it is like going to watch a disney animation movie and then complaining they sing too much. Cause now you have to tell me when rick riordan has been mature or not cringe in the whole entirity of the pjo saga? He literally wrote a dam joke after killing off a 12 years old, added a judo flip to a romantic reunion of two characters that haven't seen each others for almost a year, wrote a romantic declaration from a 20 years old something to a 16 years old girl, wrote about gods falling for the stupidiest shit said by teenagers demigods, made percy at 12 years old won a fight against the fucking god of war and i could go on so if that has been ok with you till now what is even the point? The truth is y'all are not complaining cause the book feels immature/cringe/ooc ecc y'all are complaining cause you hate will and you hate him cause you ship nico with percy, jason, leo or who knows who and that's ok you don't have to like will or solangelo you can ship whatever you want (i'm an "anomaly" in this fandom i never shipped percabeth, i started prefering percy and rachel and i ended up loving the idea of annabeth and piper, still i can be objective enough to read a whole saga where percy and annabeth are the main couple and not shit on it just cause i don't ship them together) of course you can complain about this book but at least make an effort and think of valid reasons. The real problem is why did you decide to buy and read a book that focuses as one of the main plots on a relationship you hate so much, if you can't stand them as a couple why did you read it in the first place? This book is not perfect it lacks things and there are topics that needed to be handled better sure, but it's not bad,ooc or cringe, cheesy maybe but not the kind of cringe you are trying to make it pass. The real deal here is you don't really care about any of those things you just hate the ship the book revolves around and again that's fine but just be honest it's way more respectful than taking away the work af a queer author that tried to settle more the idea of a queer couple being normal and equal to a straight one to a group of young people who are living in a society that still is against queer people.
Damnit shut up, do it for the gay kids
A former kid (still queer tho)
(if i made mistakes forgive me english is not my first language)

Ghosts
Pairing: Ellie Williams x !platonic reader x Dina
Warnings: kinda asshole ghost!ellie
Summary: You meet the ghost of Ellie Williams, a dead high schooler at Jackson High. Strange way to start off a friendship.
Idea from Pinterest.
*Not Proof Read* TLOU Masterlist
*****
Jackson high's been around for decades. Of course with a school this old there's bound to be some fucked up stories or legends that come with it.
The latest one is about an old senior named Ellie Williams. She died 2 years ago in an accident, way before I came into town. Of course I don't believe the stupid rumors. Frankly, it's pretty fucked up to make stuff up like that. Just let the girl rest in peace.
With a loud sigh, I set plop open my math text book. I carefully begin jotting down the questions, trying my best to remember what my teacher taught this morning.
I never seem to be able to retain what she tells me. Maybe it's her boring monotone voice or maybe it's the fact that I'd much rather be scraping my eyes out with a fork that causes me to get so easily distracted. I have to get this shit nailed though. If I fail again I won't be able to graduate.
My parents will be so pissed.
The library is empty. Who knows where the librarian is. Probably talking gossip with the office secretaries. I mean, who in their right mind stays after school on a Friday to finish school work?
Me. That's who.
Against my will of course.
The sooner I get this shit done the sooner I can go home and play some games. Come on. Just fucking focus.
" X= 930. " A voice whispers suddenly, scaring the shit out of me.
I look around for the culprit, only to be met with no one. " What the hell? " I mutter, shaking my head. A shiver runs down my spine. I feel like someone's watching me. Who though? There's no one here and there's no fucking way Jackson High has enough for cameras in the library.
I shake off the feeling and try to return to my work. It had to be my head.
I begin re-reading the problem, trying to solve it. What the fuck am I supposed to do here?
" X= 930. " The voice whispers again, this time slightly louder.
There's someone fucking here. Either that or I'm going insane.
My head snaps around to the direction of the voice. " Who the fuck is that? Jordan, I swear to god if you're fucking with me I'll kick your ass. " I threaten. I stand up, walking over to the book shelves. I peek in and out of the isles, looking for whoever was talking.
" Oh my fucking god! For the last time, the answer for 3 is fucking X= 930. " The voice yells from the table area, clearly annoyed.
I rush back to the noise, my jaw dropping.
A faded figure stares at me, annoyance clearly displayed through their expression.
" I-I can see through you. " I stumble over my words.
The figure rolls their eyes. " Yeah, no shit sherlock. I'm a ghost. "
" Ghost? "
The girl sighs, rubbing the middle of her forehead. " Now I see why you were stuck on that problem for so long. " Yes, I'm a ghost. I'm dead. My name's Ellie Williams, mighta head of me, ya? "
I swallow harshly. " Oh my god. You're fucking real. You're fucking real? "
Ellie nods, sitting on top of the table. " Yup. And I was trying to help you with your homework. Now, do you want my help or do you want to just stand there like a dork for the next hour? "
I shake my head and move towards the table. I sit back down, glancing back at Ellie every few minutes. " How are you..? "
" Here? " Ellie finishes. She shrugs. " Fuck knows. Just popped up one day. "
" How come I didn't see you a minute ago? " I ask, still shocked over the situation.
" I can control whether you see me or not. We both can. "
" Both? " I ask in confusion.
Ellie looks across the room. " D, you can come out now. "
Another figure pops up on one of the couches. Another girl around our age smiles slightly. " I'm Dina. "
" There's two of you. "
Ellie groans in annoyance. " What the fuck. We just went over this. "
" Ellie, be nice. " Dina walks towards us. " This is a lot to take in for a normal person. "
" It definitely is. " I begin grabbing my stuff. " I um, I've got to go. I have to go...water my...dog. " I nod, wanting nothing more but to get the fuck out of here.
" Ellie, look what you did. " Dina hisses as I begin walking away. " Do you really have to go? Ellie didn't mean it. She's just kind of an asshole. "
I look back at her. I chew on the inside of my cheek nervously. I glance between the girls.
Dina glares at Ellie.
" Yeah, sorry. " Ellie apologizes. " I was a little rude. "
" A little? " Dina scoffs.
" A lot. " Ellie corrects, clenching her teeth.
Dina rolls her eyes and crosses her eyes, looking back at me. As soon as she looks at me her expression brightens. " Please stay. We'll help you with your work. We haven't had very many new people to talk to in ages. It'd be so nice to catch up with someone not...dead. "
I glance at the door. Should I stay?
" Fine. " I sigh. " I guess I can stay for a bit. " I set my stuff back down.
If you had asked me what I was going to do today, talking to ghosts would definitely not be on my list.

how Richard Trager uses Instagram (yes, he would use Instagram):
this is Pre-Engine Rick because realistically post-engine Rick would have other things to worry about besides instagram
30 stories a day, from dawn till dawn again this man is addicted to the layout
doesn't use stickers because hes a grown man BUT HE DOES HAVE A BITMOJI THAT HE USES RELIGIOUSLY
its half office reels, half food pics, and a quarter just rants
overuses tags to hell, even randomly mid sentence , example: "#Amazing day today at @MurkoffOfficial ! this #Work ain't doin itself 📋💻👍🏻 #Workday #Monday #Officeday #ADayInMyLife #Job"
sometimes thinks that Murkoff should totally have a social media account, he knows its dumb but he cant help wanting more followers 😔
"Suns out guns out! #Sunday with my bud @JeremyBlaireOfficial" and its a picture of them in a golf cart holding champagne (not gay, just besties)
Not to sneak in my RickJer agenda but in my minds eye they signed eachothers golf clubs
tags the location if he could he would
username is something obnoxious like 'RichardTragerOfficial' like nobody know u lil bro 😭😭😭
buys likes and followers to feed his ego
4k followers thats like 85% bots
" @McDonaldsOffical Never fails 😂😂😂 #hangovermeal #NoRegrets" and its a fish fillet with the most inhuman bite you've ever seen taken out of it
WOULD POST A SWEATY GYM MAT AND TAG THE GYM AND IT'D HAVE A DUMB CAPTION LIKE "Workout Wednesdays! 🏋🏼‍♂️💪#Wednesday #Gym #Exercise #GymPic #Muscles" HE LACKS SELF AWARENESS DONT LAUGH
would 'ironically' comment "Hot! 🔥🔥🔥" on a mans gym pic and would slutshame a womans gym butt pic
"he hurts every woman hes ever met because his true soulmate is a man" - Sock-rates
he would unironically use hashtags in a sentence for fun, also urges Jer to be more active on Instagram
imagine the most white grown man, now add curly blonde hair, uhuh now give him a gay sweater, now make him homophobic & gay, yep .thats him officer
HAS gotten scammed on instagram, he threathened legal action and got his money back and deleted their account after a week tho
weekday streaks exist to him, no hes not a middle schooler hes actually 30
look at me in the eyes and tell me he wouldn't make fun of feminism in the comments section of those LibzDunked accounts
his Close Friends stories are just aftermaths after nights out, its either him drunk posting or filming himself talking to the camera about his hangover
its just Jer and a few other friends but it has the same intimacy of homosexuality
theres one video where hes drunk and actually tripped and fell so comically its been 7 months and Jer still makes fun of him for it (laughs along but actually hates it like viscerally)
he has 3 phones, both iphones and one is a samsung flip (he wanted the hype), a work phone, home phone, and his normal phone, why does he need so much? why is he not robbed yet? we will never know....
replies to those awareness posts about war in the middle east and goes like "damn.. thats unfortunate 💔 hearts goes out to them 🙏 @Chriswalker89"
most menacing instagram white man, cyberbullies as a past time and has 5 alts just focused on Harrassment+ Stalking people
he'd doxx which hospital your mother is staying in with no shame
"If you don't take that back I'm injecting your mothers spine with brain eating parasites" and he means that for real
would post corny atheist memes & misinformation
induces paranoia as a hobby "Yes ma'am i am a licensed doctor vaccines Do cause autism" as a treat
he fucks around too much one day his main gets suspended and he calls Instagram customer services
if you wouldn't think he'd try to hook up with an instagram influencer you are a liar
weekly self-help book recommendations that he doesn't read and actually just gets payed 7$ per link
im not saying he would make an alt to just hype up his own photos but he would.....do that.....
also gets blackmailed his own dick pic but whatever that was in the past
on a side note Jeremy does have a year old instagram account that only has 2 pictures (both just bar pics of him posing with a glass of wine like an idiot) and his entire Tagged section is just RICHARD TAGGING HIM IN ANYTHING

I’ve been seeing so much about the sun and the star, and everything just seems so extreme? like people are either trashing it completely and saying that they wish they never read it, or they’re defending everything in the book and like…there’s definitely a gray area?
I totally get why people thought that rick riordan would change his target audience (to more adult audiences rather than sticking with middle schoolers) but it’s okay that he didn’t? you can still enjoy the book even if you’re older?
and I also understand the criticism about how will got a bit sidelined and while that sucked…it’s also called a nico di angelo story? it’s meant to be about nico, there was nothing misleading about that
and saying that the characters are completely ooc just completely misses the point of the book – change is good and sometimes healing from trauma means learning to live alongside your trauma. and as someone who’s now starting to enter the phase of rediscovering who I was before my depression got really bad, I appreciated that SO much
I was kinda put off by how “in your face” some of the queer stuff was (and I say this as a bi person) ‘cause I’d rather have it be shown as just? a normal part of life? like kids need to see a healthy, normal queer relationship but I wish their relationship had been treated with the same nonchalance as every other heterosexual relationship in the earlier books
(but I also don’t know if that’s bc of mark oshiro’s influence? like I haven’t read any of their other work but I’ve also seen people kinda jump the gun and say it’s all their fault which…idk man)
but the only thing that truly bothered me was the typo where nico says that his mother is bianca di angelo bc MAN maybe I’m being too harsh but that was just careless imo

Nine People I Want to Know Better
Thank you to @welcometololaland for thinking of me to tag, I can't tag you back but consider the sentiment returned!
current book you’re reading: uhhhh I should be reading PJO for the brownstone server re-read but I literally taught The Lightning Thief to middle schoolers for two years, I know that book back to front. Also did a book club with Sea of Monsters and The Titan's Curse at the end of the year. So I might just pick up with Battle of the Labyrinth. I also kinda want to re-read A Ballad of Snakes and Songbirds before the movie comes out.
last song you listened to: "Park Bench" by Valley --- I have a huge playlist with all my faves on shuffle for when I drive so this is pretty random, but I do love this song (though my favorite Valley song is "There's Still a Light in the House").
currently watching: I don't watch much TV, but I'm following season 2 of Wrexham (and a couple of episodes behind).
current fic you’re reading: i'm also super behind in fic right now, both bc I've been writing a ton and bc I've been a bit overwhelmed by the inundation of fics post movie. But I'm currently keeping up with A Love That Haunts the Land by @14carrotghoul, Newton's Fourth Law by dilfpickles (I don't know if they're on tumblr), Twice the speed (of you and me) by @myheartalivewrites, Cold Cases, Lost Causes by @tintagel-or-cockleshells, Hit and Run by bleedingballroomfloor, and maybe some others I'm forgetting? My "Marked for Later" is getting LONG. Next on my tbr is a one shot by @ssmtskw, Love Songs in the Key of Liam.
next on my watch list: i don't really watch TV so instead I'll do what lola did and share some of my TBR fic list:
Even if It's Just Pretend by @nontoxic-writes (have also heard it's big sad, so decided to wait for it to be complete)
But I love him, whether or no. by @leaves-of-laurelin I was keeping up with this and got overwhelmed in life, but it's so good and am excited to get back to it!
get him alone by @congee4lunch, I think @affectionatelyrs will fly to me and force me to read this if I don't get to it lmao
current obsession: I mean writing if we're gonna be honest, but I'm an avid f1 and nba fan, which many people don't know, so with basketball starting back up that's taking up some of my bandwith again
tagging people I've maybe spoken to a little but would love to know better, sorry if I'm double tagging and you've missed this! @hypnostheory @littlemisskittentoes @hgejfmw-hgejhsf @sherryvalli @14carrotghoul @daisymae-12 @myheartalivewrites @mainstreamelectricalparade @heartitinthesilence
