I imagine both drifter and bobby are somewhat desensitized of death. Bobby more so cares less of corpses and sees them more as things to loot, while drifter is somewhat numb to the ticking timer he's in (he makes off handed jokes about himself that sounds slightly concerning). Drifter still respects the dead and what theyve left behind, thinking that borrowing their weapons as some sort of relief for the dead (Quirrel's words ;u;). "Borrowing", because he knows well it will be used by others when these things outlives him, and hes ok with it. (He also believes that a tool that still serves its functions has no reason to go unused)

Bobby is a loud and proud jerk, and drifter rattled that concept simply by just being himself, unexpectant on how it would affect bobby. While he had been familiar of death, he never properly grasped the concept of losing someone he truly loved.

And he doesnt know how to deal with it.

So what does Callie have to deal with after that first transformation?

Oooo, where to start LOL.

Werekrakens, even when transforming at a young age like normal, experience super intense senses, emotions and instincts for a good while after transforming.

Callie already had fairly good senses prior to transforming, but after they were unbelievably strong for her. Being able to hear, smell, and see everything out of essentially nowhere with no way to make it stop is agonizing for her. She's forced to get accustomed to it, which takes her several moons to do.

Not to mention her kraken side is more intense than ever and she can't let it out.

Prior to transforming she had SOME instincts, but it wasn't anywhere near how intense they normally are for a werekraken. After her first change her kraken is CONSTANTLY making her want to go wild. Even in small forms her kraken wants to come out-vocalizing her happiness/discomfort through growling or clicking like a kraken would, getting physically affectionate (like hugging more than she normally does lol) or aggressive, or just simply behaving like her kraken self in her inkling state.

The most notable instinct Cal has is the desire to change into her kraken state constantly. If she gets too emotional, either positively or negatively, her kraken IMMEDIATELY wants to take over and she can't let that happen for obvious reasons-which is painful for her because that's still her, that's still Callie and her kraken, as different as she acts while changed, is still fully her. A werekraken isn't divided into two halves, the "halves" are intertwined together and a part of each other. What Callie thinks she has to learn is how to separate them and regulate each one. She does not want to do this but understands that she has to.

i've watched a lot of good films lately in an attempt to catch up with a bunch of movies that have come out recently, but talk to me was the best movie i've seen in a LONG time

#i put off watching it for so long because i was sure it was overrated + i'm generally not a fan of possession movies #(because so many of them try to be the exorcist and they will never be the exorcist. you know how it is)#but holy shit. genuinely a brilliant movie in every aspect of filmmaking + completely aligned with my personal taste #+ exactly what i look for thematically in possession and/or ghost movies #+ the absolute perfect balance between psychological and gory #and like i said SUCH a good cold opening #tbh i think it's a useful trick to know how to get your audience to buy into a supernatural premise from the very first scene #i think that takes some VERY effective + skillful writing and directing #and as someone who again typically does NOT like possession movies i usually end the movie NEVER buying into the story #not because i'm a 'skeptic' or whatever just because the writing doesn't do the work #but SCENE ONE of this movie i was so in it #anyway. movee of all time to me #also from the trailers etc i had thought that that fluffy yellow sweatshirt mia wears at the beginning of the movie was a bathrobe lmao #my first impression of what this movie was gonna be like was NOT correct #anyway 'recently' means in the past 2 years i guess?#actually maybe this post was a lie because i LOVED nope which was also just an absolute cinematic masterpiece #anytime i watch a jordan peele movie it's just like. this man is so far beyond any other filmmaker out there right now #it's almost unfair to watch lol like an olympic gold medalist running laps around a middle school track team #anyway ummm. yeah talk to me was good though

zootopia would have never truly been able to work like it was meant to because using the prey vs predator dynamic as an allegory for racial prejudice is fundamentally flawed at an unfixable level, BUT if they had decided to go through with the shock collar concept all the way instead of turning it into a cop bootlicking party it would've at least been cool and interesting for a disney movie

#as far as i know it would focus more on nick having this underground amusement park where predators could get rid of their collars #and from what we know of the early drafts it's very unlikely that the end to his arc would've been to become a cop lmao #also like. at the very least this version would have had a very clear distinction of who the oppressed and the oppressors were #instead of both sides-ing it into a confusing mess like the final movie did #definitely not a perfect analogy but still way less muddled at least

#i have so many they're perfect for anything honestly #bummer at my first two concerts i forgot to bring one so i had to either wear the merch over my clothes and squeeze cds into my small bag #or bought a bag from the merch stand like i did with shiraz lane because i brought enough money but forgot a bag to put the merch in lmao #from now on it's kind of a thing for me to buy tote bags whenever a band sells them. to represent 2 bands when i'm already wearing a shirt #i only have the shiraz lane bag and one from the royal beggars so far 💔 bands sell tote bags challenge #technically blind channel had them but i didn't like the design plus i don't listen to them anymore and mostly went there for lost society #the royal beggars one was because i bought so much at that festival and one bag wasn't enough and i was too broke for a shirt at that point #so i bought the €10 cheaper tote bag with their most recent ep cover instead. i got the shirt as a gift from them later on ❤❤❤#mel talks #AND i have a bunch of tote bags with art prints ❤❤❤

In the year of our lord, 2024, some of the fandom is still approaching the Jedi Order with zero nuance

#I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love the Jedi. I love the lore. I think they are extremely interesting.#they did do many great things and at their core had good intentions for the most part #but they were a deeply DEEPLY flawed institution ESPECIALLY during the prequel era #and people saying the Jedi did nothing wrong and they were right about everything missed the whole picture. by like a mile. lmao #they were FAR from perfect. it’s okay to admit that.#towards the end the Jedi became utterly apathetic and arrogant and it absolutely contributed to their downfall #and especially the council who were supposed to be these wise masters #when the entirety of RotS was literally Anakin’s cry for help and they either dismissed or shamed him #side note: that doesn’t make all the horrible things he ended up doing okay #BUT he was in an incredibly vulnerable position and Yoda and the other masters intentionally PUT him in those situations #and took ZERO responsibility #not to mention all of the padawans they turned into child soldiers during the clone wars #I could go on but. I’ll end up writing an essay in the tags

So I'm working on speedrunning all of ieytd2 and I left Jet Set until last because I was worried about memorising the whole defense override sequence. Turns out, I've watched playthroughs of this game so many times that I just. Have it memorised anyway

#i still need to shave off abt 30 seconds but I'm not too bad at that now #i managed to do uhhhh thingy rising phoenix with 12 seconds to spare?????#SAFE AND SOUND WAS SUCH A BITCH THOUGH #that's the one I've spent the longest on thus far cause you had to get your movements so perfect. i did it with 1 second to spare #party crasher wad my favourite to speedrun because that was pretty quick #and then eaves drop because you can get through fabbh's security before she's even fully left LMAO #lots of fun #oh and stage fright you can just raise the curtain???? straight away??? did not realise. also shoot the guy to your left with the broken bar #it saves like 2 seconds that youd get from either waiting for him to shoot you or waiting on the lady with a bomb to throw one #anyways i got gud basically/silly #sooo much fun though #SUPER rewarding to do #like im doing this to 100% my save and honestly it's a lot of fun #anyways #ieytd

I've been pining after this one since the hardback released, but I'm more of a paperback person so I Waited, and in my Waiting I missed the seasonal alignment to start reading it (come on: I can't be expected to read a collection with this title any time except at the very beginning of spring, right??). But! Guess what!! Spring is once again Arriving, and things are starting to bud and bloom, and I love that!
