I wish current MCU stans would realize that so many of us "haters" are- or were- dedicated fans who are critical because we cared a lot about characters and stories. As a long time Loki fan, I was heartbroken and angry seeing him belittled, hurt, and tortured, sidelined into a shell of his former self and told he deserves it while characters who committed far worse crimes were hailed as heroes. The negativity comes from a place of love for Loki and being let down at how he was treated.

We wouldn't have entire blogs dedicated to the studio or its characters if we didn't care. It is because we care that we're so disappointed, otherwise we would have stopped thinking about them a long time ago.

That's why I hate the word "anti": we're not "anti MCU", we're against canon! We disagree with it, we don't like it or has characters acting completely ooc. There are people out there who hate the MCU... but those of us who blog about them just want better products!

We don't want Marvel to stop, we want them to realize characterization is all over the place these days, we want them to stop justifying evil characters, we want them to stop blaming Bucky and praising Mobius, we want the new movies and series to address something other than multiverse this and Kang that, we want the non-romantic relationships to matter and not be tossed aside as irrelevant unless they're the romantic kind, we don't want the new characters to ridicule the old ones, we want complex characters, if we must put up with variants we want them to be different than the OG ones otherwise it makes no freaking sense, we want Waldron to leave for good, we want Scott's friends and Maggie and Paxton back, I want Thor out of Taika's hands and for someone to treat him kindly for a freaking change, I want Sam as Cap! Where is Sam?!, etc.

And all this is not mentioning Loki. They can call it 'therapy' and 'taking responsibility' or 'being held accountable'... none of that is true. He was abused in that series. And we were told he deserved it. Why the hell would a fan enjoy that?

I couldn't agree more with you when you say we don't come from a place of hate, we come from a place of love for a story and its characters, because we can see the potential but time and time again (especially the last couple years) the quality has gone down dramatically... and the studio is doing all they can to ignore the criticism -- or worse, they call us haters or bigots just so that our opinions won't be taken seriously.

We just want a better Marvel and we will never get it if the criticism is inherently labelled as hate, bigotry or "fangirls acting crazy". If the stans only allow positive feedback the MCU will die sooner than they think.

When I came to the realization that this fandom fights over characters and ships, created by an author that made one of the MCs legit come to the Image of his own baby son during sex with his mate, or wrote the same "mind blowing" sex scene over and over again (acosf), doesn't even give a flying damn about plots and logic and more bs that the author wrote and said... My first thought was to start to move on from anything sjm related.

This lady is so problematic and doesn't give a damn about what she writes since she knows her fans will eat it up regarless and no one bothers to cancel her, as if most stans didn't try cancel an author because they dared to like gwynriel over elriel. It bothers me that everyone seems to fight like it's ww2 for an author that doesn't give a damn. Whenever I read a book or watch a show, I always somehow compare it to her works and realize even more that she doesn't deserve to have this much love and attention for bs work.

Started watching a show that has amazing plots and the characters are very likeable (The legend of vox machina on amazon prime). It's clear that each character is flawed but they lern from their mistakes and actually suffer from the consequenzes of their own actions. I actually feel for these characters and would join this found family over that bs wannabe family that is the IC or Bryce's gang. Aelin's gang is better than those two but still not so good that I'd want to join them if I could. When I read one of Sjm books, the female lead always feel like self Insert characters, ESPECIALLY Feyre. Aelin, Bryce and Feyre are praised by every character and other characters that have every right to be mad and call them out on their bs are painted as the "bad guys". It's just so frustrating, lele. I hope I move on from Sjm because I did use to love her work until acosf and my acotar reread and realized how bad it actually is + the fandom toxicity.

Maybe I'm just upset over the fact that good authors with well written works get less praised compared to authors like Sjm, Cassandra clare Collen hoover etc.

Friend, although this is largely an acotar blog, I agree with you. Those of you who are friends with me on Goodreads or follow my book blog know that I read pretty widely beyond SJM or similar authors/genres, and it's so, so hard to compare her to the wider book world because there are so, so many authors who are better writers and getting zero attention.

Sometimes I catch myself comparing her worldbuilding to Brandon Sanderson and think wow, that's not fair. That's comparing the model of worldbuilding to someone who admittedly doesn't plan that much, so it's apples and oranges.

Then I compare her prose (holy sentence fragments, Batman!) to Elif Shafak, Marie Rutkoski, Max Porter, Maggie O'Farrell, et cetera, and I think well that's also not fair, she isn't known for her turn of phrase.

At a certain point, you just start wondering what the fuck is going on because the more widely you read, the easier it is to see how much better other authors can be lol. It annoys the shit out of me that she wins every Goodreads award for books that aren't good! Crescent City has really good climaxes in each book so far, but they are a mess! The books that she goes up against every year are so much better, but you know she'll always win. I totally understand your frustration.

I will say that, in her defense, she is very engaging. She writes characters who are very easy to root for, she's really good at writing climaxes, she does bring a certain vibe or aesthetic that people connect with. She's not popular for nothing. I do sometimes wonder if her flaws are what keep people hooked, though, even if we don't always realize it. What I mean is that a lot of her stuff in acotar is just a ~vibe~, so it's easy to insert our own interpretation, to come up with our own headcanons that fill in the blanks, and that's what we actually connect to. Meanwhile I'm constantly wondering if she put as much thought into it as the fandom has.

I think the thing that annoys me the most is when you can see the author in their work. What I mean by this is that a plot, world, or character choice that doesn't feel natural, but instead feels like the author trying to manipulate the plot/character/world in order to get to a specific spot. The pregnancy plot in acosf is a perfect example. It makes zero fucking sense, but I know exactly what Sarah was thinking when she did it, because of what it accomplished. I've just been seeing this happen a lot more in acotar - it feels like a constant since acowar. Everything is being written to set something else up, and that's also why I hate the crossover.

I have been re-watching Lost for the first time in 10+ years, and I'm actually noticing a lot of half-assed characterization and random coincidences show up that just feel... lazy. Not planned. Just there for the shock value or so that we can get from Plot Point A to Plot Point B. My point is that yeah, when you watch other shows or read other books, like you said, you start to get a much better feel for what is and isn't working in other stories. So catch me 10 years later watching Lost and wondering what the fuck, all of these characters are so damn annoying (except for Sayid) and this love triangle is stupid.

Sarah J Maas is Not That Deep. I am fairly convinced that a lot of the arguments in the fandom come from people who don't have much exposure to other authors or genres, because once you start to get that comparison - once you start getting used to much better crafted stories - it's really hard to forgive the flaws. I know this makes me sound like a snob and I am okay with that haha

Don't feel bad for getting hooked in the first place. Like I said, there are definitely reasons we are here, and why her books are so massively popular. She is doing something right, for sure! I'll never be anti because I find that a waste of my time, but... sometimes I wonder what percentage of my participation in the fandom is because of genuine interest, even after all these years, and how much of it is just being used to being here and FOMO. The fandom isn't a great place to be, as you pointed out. But I've found it shockingly easy to ignore the fandom mean girls via the block button.

So I was wondering what some of your opinions are about the Twd characters? (You don’t have to answer since I know you usually do stuff with the avatar fandom!)

Oh please, I would LOVE to answer. I was, of course, originally a Walking Dead blog as evidenced by my name. I love any and all asks about any of my fandoms lol.

Very open ended question there are so so many characters, so if you have any specific characters you want my opinions on feel free to ask. Obviously when I was larger in The Walking Dead/Fear the Walking Dead fandom I was a gleggie blog, mostly a Glenn Rhee blog. I, like a lot of other people, stopped watching after season seven. It wasn't really an intentional thing, my family fell behind and we never bothered to catch back up. We rewatch the first few seasons very regularly though. I am of the opinion the show was really fantastic until about... generously season five-ish. The first three seasons of that show are some of the best television out there. My favorite episode is Seed (301), and my favorite part of the timeline is 4A, I ADORE prison era the most, as most of the fandom does, but the farm has a special place in my heart.

Opinions on characters, I think highly of most of them. I'm trying to think if I have any controversial fandom opinions. Oh, I do not understand bethyl hype and I was never that passionate a Beth stan. I never cared about Dale that much. I love Shane as a character, he's so haunting and such a fantastic parallel to Rick in the first two seasons. I hate Negan and my family was all turned off by the fact that he lived. My mom is a staunch Lori hater and she thinks Sam Anderson was a really ugly and annoying kid, which was always really funny to watch. Obviously like most Glenn blogs I think Glenn was really misused as a character, especially towards the end. I am a richonne stan and I will be watching that spinoff. I am, however, disgusted by the Maggie and Negan spinoff and by all Negan stans. Dude really was a rapist and we all do be forgetting that. Oh, and I am an Andrea hater and a Merle Dixon apologist.

I have Fear the Walking Dead opinions too, since you're all Avatar people you might not have seen my top FTWD post about my literal icon bestie badass Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis) beat that walkers head in with a cinderblock and then throw it at racism border patrol asshole Noel Fisher (who I constantly forget was in this show) because fuck weapons when you can possibly hit that guy you're mad at. But you'll like it.

But tbh that show, although cool at the beginning, killed off more cool poc characters than fucking history itself. We stopped watching that one quick as hell.

Love Songs

Summary: You and Peter are best friends and get seated together on the plane for the trip to Europe. Thanks to turbulence you and Peter have a moment.

You and Peter have been best friends since you moved into the apartment next door to him. You two were always together, most people assumed the two of you were dating. But that wasn't the case you were just friends. Every time someone would ask if you were a couple Peter was always quick to tell them you were just friends. It was freshman year that you felt different when he would call you his best friend. Then it hit you realized you had a crush on Peter. You knew you needed to keep it a secret.

You were getting ready to go to the airport for the Europe trip. A knock on the door lets you know that Peter is ready to go. You go to let him in and you see the way he looks at you with his cute smile

"Hey Pete"

"Hey, you ready yet? I called for the taxi it should be here in like five minutes"

"Yea, give me a second to grab my stuff," you tell him walking towards your room to grab your bag

"Let me help you," he says when you walk back out pulling your suitcase.

"I got it," you tell him.

"No, let me be a gentleman and help you," he smiles.

You grin at his antics and let him get the suitcase. He grabs your suitcase along with his and you two go to the elevator to the lobby of your building to get into your taxi. He puts your bags in the trunk and you get in the taxi.

"Are you excited?" he asks you

"Yes, but I'm a little nervous. I've never been on a plane before" you tell him honestly.

"You'll be okay, hopefully, we get paired up to sit together," he says with the smile that gives you butterflies

When the two of you get to the airport you check in your bags, go through security and meet up with the rest of the people going on the trip. You and Peter check in with the teachers and let them know you guys are there. Peter goes to say hi to Ned, while you find a spot to sit. The teacher then calls for everyone to come over, that they have announcements to make on how things will work when we reach Prague. You pretty much zone out for most of the speech due to mostly everyone talking over them. You pay attention when they say something regarding seating on the plane

"You can sit with who you want, you all need to pair up, you are all old enough to make smart decisions on where you sit, please make good choices"

You feel eyes on you, you instantly look up to find Peter looking at you smiling. When the teacher finishes their speech, Peter walks over to you.

“You ready to go,” he asks you

“Yup”

The two of you follow the rest of the group into the line to check-in. You scan your ticket and walk on the plane with Peter. The two of you find your seats, put your bags up and sit for the flight. You take the window seat and Peter sits in the middle. You start feeling a bit nervous when the plane gets going. Peter taps your leg you look at him passing you an earbud. You put it on hearing one of your favorite songs playing

"I'll take away the hurt"

"Tell me all your fears"

"And if you're feelin' scared, I'll be here"

Summary: You and Fezco never really hung out or got to know each other. But when you two end up sharing a blunt alone, things get a little heated.

You and Rue have been friends for years, when you found out she ended up in rehab you honestly were terrified. You always told her that she needed to stop, you never did anything stronger than smoke weed.

Rue just texted you that she was on her way to your house to hang out. Knowing Rue that meant she wanted to go get some stuff from Fez. That's all the two of you did together anymore since she got outta rehab and she became friends with Jules.

You hear a knock coming from the window, you look over to see Rue standing there.

"Hey bitch" you say letting her in.

"Wassup, you ready?" she asks.

"Yea, where we goin'?" you ask her already having an idea.

"To Fez's to chill," she says.

You two walk outside and start your walk to the gas station, it's about a twenty-minute walk from where you live.

"Where you been lately?" you ask Rue

"Around, with Jules mostly," she tells you

"What's up with you two? You dating" you ask

"Kinda, not really. All I know is, I like her a lot" she says

You smile, you've never seen her like this. You two finally make it to Fez's. Rue starts knocking on the door mad hard. Ash opens the door looking mad asf

"Why the fuck you knockin' like the cops' bro?" he asks

"Cause I can," Rue says walking in the house

"Hey Ash," you say walking in after Rue

"Come right in then," Ash says closing the door behind us

Rue and I walk into the house and into the living room. Fez is sitting on the couch on his phone. He looks up to see who walked in

"Rue I told you I'm not giving you any more drugs," he tells her

"C'mon Fez, I just need a couple," Rue says

"No Rue, you just got outta rehab and shit. You needa stop messin' with this shit" he tells her

Her phone starts ringing, she answers it and talks for a minute. She hangs up the phone

"I gotta go," she says getting up and leaving without a word. Once the door slams shut. Fezco looks at me and asks

"What'd you need?"

"Just give me my regular," you say now wanting to get outta his house.

this is a question that always makes me wanna crawl back into my hole because admitting I don't really watch movies always makes people very surprised. idk it's just not my favourite artistic medium I guess? the amount of information unleashed on me in like 2 hrs always makes me overwhelmed af and I have to stop to process. but I do have a couple to recommend lmao, although they are all pretty mainstream

pride and prejudice! both 2005 film and 1995 mini series are amazing, I can't choose between the two

mad max fury road - one hell of an aesthetic, badass old ladies, deadly charlize theron, do I need to go on

venom - one more tom hardy movie, sorry. we stan monsterfucking on this blog

the dirt. you know I had to put it on the list

jumanji (both parts) - a lot of fun, karen gillan is there,

the joker. nobody look at me. I'm not endorsing the main character, but I do think this movie is a very good representation of how society with its neglect and contempt drives poor and mentally ill people to monstrosity and then blames them for it. loved it will never watch it again

bohemian rhapsody! no comment needed I suppose

the help! the book is AMAZING and the movie did it justice overall, although they did botch some character development at the end.

I ran out of movies at this point because I haven't watched any in like half a year so I'll recommend you a couple shows instead

the witcher. they fucked up the entire storyline and made yennefers character all about her baby fever but it's still a decent show with dark fantasy vibe. you'd still be better off playing the game tho

downton abbey!!! I never thought I'd get into that kind of thing, but it really sucks you in. and the characters are multidimensional and complex, with servant characters given as much depth as the noble ones. It's worth watching for maggie smith's character alone

bonus: hbo chernobyl. fucked me up big time. I'm still seeing that irradiated dude that rotted alive in my nightmares. shows really well the scope of the tragedy and just how badly it was handled by the ussr.

I guess that's it lmao. I'm REALLY not into movies as a whole so I don't know many of them, and those I have watched I can't remember for shit. please don't judge me by this list I tried my best 🥺

How many times have you said "I love you" in the past month? Prolly way too many, but my fiancé is literally the best thing to ever happen to me, so I mean it every time.

Where did you last go other than your room/home? I went to a little town called Vetren with my fiancé. We visited some family, had some pizza, stayed overnight, had a good time. It was fun. I'll miss them.

How many green shirts do you own? I think just one, and it's my long-sleeved sweatshirt/pullover that I mostly wear in the fall when it starts getting cold.

Do you like anime? Hell yes! I love anime! One Piece, Dragonball, Naruto, Boku no Hero, Black Clover, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Bakemonogatari, hell yeah!

What do you invest the most time in? Blender modeling on my computer. Shamefully, sometimes when I have my headphones on, I tend to lose myself in my work. I lose track of time really easily that way ^^'
