i need an outlet for the disco elysium evangelion/pacific rim mashup au or i’ll explode so imma just word vomit my ideas for it here
so instead of police, the RCM is an experimental mecha pilot program in Revachol under the Coalition of Nations. Revachol seems to have been the epicenter of attacks by the Halos, extra-elysian beings that scientists theorize as having some kind of connection to the encroaching Pale.
The RCM operate mechs known as Pale Divers (not sold on this name yet, but i just wanted a placeholder) with two types, the Innocentric line and the Plasm line (again some of the names are just placeholders). The Plasm line are older designs and a holdover from the Revolution when the communists built these particular mechs to harness the plasm’s power when multiple operators sync up in revolutionary union. They succeeded in engineering models that operate with two pilots in sync but their future plans for additional pilots failed when the Revolution fell and the first Halo attacked Revachol soon after, allowing for the Coalition to take over in the moment of crisis. With the Coalition in power and dealing with Halo attacks, they soon created the Innocentric line of mechs, which utilize only one pilot for maximum efficiency and the mechs rely on biological fusion with the pilot for optimal performance (ala how Evas work). However the RCM still finds use for the Plasm models as they’re more affordable to produce even though they’re perceived as less reliable to combat the Halo threats.
The RCM being an experimental program, it relied on volunteers who were willing to sacrifice their lives in order to become pilots. Harry volunteered, wanting to prove himself for Dora. He first operated an Innocentric model and quickly became a top pilot. However operating the mech took severe toll on his body as it’s heavily reliant on Harry’s biology to achieve optimal performance and Harry resorted to drugs and alcohol to sustain himself. Dora eventually left him as he sunk deeper deeper into dysfunction, which broke him and culminated in an event where he loses his memories (could be the same as the game, but i might try to rejig it to a different cause for his amnesia). His body has deteriorated to the point where he is completely unfit to operate the Innocentric model and thus was ‘downgraded’ to operating a Plasm model alongside Kim as his new partner. Homoerotic mecha training montage ensues.

so much happened in this whole episode but i’m still on fig infiltrating ruben’s dream, making it look like the place where his friend was murdered, and then disguising herself as kipperlilly & repeatedly saying different variants of “somebody needs to take the fall for this, and it’s not going to be me. it’s going to be you.” while adaine as the elven oracle shows up next to her. can you imagine waking up from that, the idea of a horrible truth being pinned on you by your friend to save her own skin while the personification of fate and destiny stands there, almost as a promise that this is GOING to happen to you. we don’t even know if this kid is guilty. my god.
#fantasy high#dimension 20#fhjy#fhjy spoilers#fantasy high junior year#fig faeth#ruben hopclap#lucy frostblade#the rat grinders#adaine abernant#kipperlilly copperkettle#watching fig terrorize him like girl!!! we don’t even know if he’s guilty!!!!#this might just be for me but i do not think 5 teenagers willingly brutally killed their friend idk#like there just has to be some other element to it and i am very scared to find out what that was#what if they were put in a position where they felt there was/there was no other choice… like oh my god#my comedy brain is having fun but my ‘this is a teenager’ brain is in such deep distress all the time this season#the rat grinders i trust brennan to not make u cartoonishly evil so i am holding u as gently as i can in my confused shaky hands#also with the devil’s nectar i’ve been wondering why they all seem so well-adjusted & now i’m curious if they’ve been intentionally-#changing their memories in a way so that either the trauma is lesser or they think they aren’t guilty. idk#but it seems like from how gertie was talking she was making it more recently so the well adjustedness from early jy doesn’t quite add up#they could have another source maybe??? idk i’m just low stakes 4 a.m. spitballing here#there’s also the strong possibility that they’re aware of what happened but they weren’t the ones who killed lucy. idk who knows#the way you could probably devil’s nectar yourself into believing it wasn’t your fault someone died… CRAZY IMPLICATIONS!!! CRAZY IDEA!!!#anyways the bad kids & the rat grinders don’t ever have to like each other but i do wonder if at least some of those kids deserve a chance

movie Shadow should be so assured in his own power that he is completely confident and collected in dangerous situations , it would make sense he doesn’t talk during fights, his power doesn’t require words to make a impact . And he becomes tense and uncomfortable in mundane situations because he simply doesn’t have the framework for peace.!.!.!. And his power is so intense and hard to control he would need someone to navigate softness for him,.!.!.!.!. That’s all your honour

thinking abt metal sonic and how they communicate. like do they come up with little signals and sounds to convey certain things to others. tapping in morse code. do u think they learn how to write. taking away their voice was meant to make them less human but then they learn to write down their thoughts in an entirely human way. IDK and then im thinking if they got a voicebox in the future would they even use it all that much or would they be so used to not having it that theyd rely more on other ways to communicate. idk. when your voice is an item that can be taken away do you value it more or less than if it was a given right

Okay very last Trigun Maximum Vol. 2 thoughts before next week!
First off, Vash crying blood! I had fun coloring in the panel, because why not. This is my favorite weird monstrous quirk of his. It's so dramatic. It's so sad. It's so gross. I have so many questions. If he has a long hard cry, could be feasibly become anemic for a bit? Like a period? Does it make wiping away tears really difficult (tears dry and disappear, blood dries and it's fucking hard to get out without peroxide)? When does he cry normal tears vs blood? How many coats has he bled on? Does it turn his eyes reddish? I will never know peace.
Tumblr media
Now some creepy Puppet Master bullshit. I didn't realize he actually killed all those people.. then, I guess, preserved them in a way to make puppets out of them? That he can control with his mind? That's some TMA Stranger shit right there. Jeezus Creezus. I love how this reminds me of the body horror of the plants too though. Also, Wolfwood's got legs for miles (god he's so Shaped).
OK, sorry these are kinda out of order. I mostly just wanted to put Blood Tears Boy panel up first. But these pages (out of order but in comparison) are *chefs kiss*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So. Wolfwood insisting that he's just human, and that's why he can't take the same chances in battle that Vash can. He's not a superhuman with insane marksman skills and rapid healing. He can't afford the same luxury of pacifism. He's working really hard to separate himself from Vash / separate Vash from humanity with "I'm only human" (god, did you really have to rub it in like that? surely there was a nicer way to say that, buddy).
And the next page here... okay I actually need some help with this. This is immediately after WW sees Vash get Bad Vibes from Puppet Guy, and I can't quite tell if WW is talking about Vash (I think so?) or the puppet master (the one sending Bad Vibes)? If he's talking to/about Vash, that means that he sees Vash having Big Feelings and feeling the shit radiating off the GHG and he's like... that's a monster. He's so fucking inhuman. (also sorry for the empath joke). The last panel on that page is grayed-out Vash, presumably feeling like shit after WW tells him he's nothing like a human.
Wolfwood is STILL feeding into Vash's monster shit. I feel like Trimax volume 2 involves not only a lot of Vash and Wolfwood clashing ideologically, but clashing in their identities. Wolfwood is terrified of Vash and is working so hard to distance himself from the weapon who blew a hole in the fifth moon while still grappling with his own terrible deeds. Vash is... well, reminding Wolfwood that for all that he is Wolfwood the Punisher, as much as he's killed, he's still got a soft heart and he still cares. He's just a cowardly kid hiding behind his weapon, not some macho gun-slinging undertaker. Wolfwood knows that already, as we see him deep in thought with his mental gymnastics quite a bit, but he's only ever talking to himself about it. He's very private about it.
Because he's so willing to hurt Vash about the opposite, I think being understood by Vash like this is what scares Wolfwood most of all.

MiqoMarch'24, Day #7: - light -
A bit of a different take on this prompt, today is all about sin eater D'nyr from the point of view of an alternate timeline where he really did become a Lightwarden!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀- observations log. 1/5/XX, day.?? - ……..thus the creature was bestowed the title of Forgiven Temperance by its former allies, following the meaning of self-sacrifice and asceticism; excessive restraint/repression of one’s self for others benefit. At his core, one can suppose that this was both his fatal flaw and driving virtue! The poor soul… To date, nobody knows for sure what the beast fully looks like, not even those who fled the site of its transformation at the depths of The Tempest! It has scarcely budged from its initial location a few moons ago… obvious logistical reasoning aside, only a scant few exploration teams have had the wherewithal to venture down there past the safety of the Ondo's dwellings. Reports have led us to believe that the creature is covered in sharp spines and has monstrously large "claw-hands" (as it was described), or possibly some sort of scorpion-like tail as well? Its profile is unclear and hard to make out in the murk from such a distance, but one thing is unanimously clear; all of our teams have fled after seeing what they claimed to be "horrifying gold eyes" staring back at them! Yet the beast has not once given chase upon sighting our researchers, which is just as unsettling as it is perplexing… Due to the unique constraints inherent to its location, we are at present unable to cull the Lightwarden and return the night to the region of Kholusia. Mercifully, its light has not pierced anywhere else due to the sheer distance from the water's surface acting as a convenient attenuating filter, but one could surmise that if the beast were to emerge then all of Norvrandt would be under light pall again… its effect on the populace is quite clear: residents have responded with equal levels of fear and also apathy to this situation, as while some are content to live their lives as they had been before (with the beast effectively "out of sight and out of mind" and therefore not a problem), others are starting to become fearful of the ocean entirely (a complicated notion, due to their relative proximity at all times to it)! Disquieting rumors have started to spread amongst fishermen and sailors alike, that if you venture too close to the ocean you'll be dragged under by the Lightwarden, never to be seen again… though one would hope most people would question how bogus this sounds-- if you'll excuse me interjecting my own personal opinion... at this juncture I simply cannot see the Lightwarden ascending from the briny deep just to prey on hapless passersby when it has showed absolutely no inclination towards moving from even just one single spot-- it has nonetheless had a noticeable impact on the region's imports and exports of fish, so now we must find an effective way to quell the people's terror to rectify the economic impacts alongside dealing with the creature too………..
------ (as a bonus, have the rough draft of his Lightwarden trial encounter under the cut! because I am sad it will never get to see the light of day otherwise and I was proud of the concept years ago lmao)
CONCEPT: . Overall theme is “the breaking down of appearances to reveal what was always there, but hidden away”-- stage and boss both change per phase to reflect this, going from a more idealistic “this is what the WoL as a sin-eater would look and fight like” to a “ohhh god what is that that’s not the WoL anymore” . Mechanics are based around D’nyr’s repressed feelings towards others (loneliness, anger/the need to lash out sometimes, not always saying how he feels, his dislike of others putting him on a pedestal, etc.) and the world at large (eg. the fragility of life, futility of some things, etc.) and his unfulfilled hopes and wants (to live unfettered by responsibility to the world, to settle down with a family of his own someday, etc.)
PHASE 1: . Certain mechanics grant a stacking buff to the boss (Fervent Denial), which is necessary to progress the fight! These mechanics have an interrupt bar and represent the feelings and things that D’nyr has repressed-- if the cast is interrupted, the buff will not be given, increasing the flat % of damage taken from the ultimate attack at the end of the next phase [it's calculated based on the damage dealt to the boss in the first phase (% thresholds that indicate how much it weakens the overall ult damage by), as well as the actual phase progress bar (below 80% is no extra damage, at 80-90% it is +3% extra damage, 90-99% an 5% extra damage, and 100% a flat wipe)] . In a meta sense, the only way to put him down for good is to damage him when he is at his most vulnerable (ie, his final form), and the only way to get him to show that is to let him go berserk and not deny him the things he’s been disallowing himself all this time-- as D’nyr at his core would never allow himself these actions, it causes a “breakdown” of the mask (literally, the bosses’ one too [he has a blank slate mask with a golden kintsugi X like D'nyr's scar, for context]) and internal walls holding him back, fracturing his perceived sense of self and causing him to shift into a form that represents all of these denied things, which is what truly needs to be destroyed/purified! . Normal mode has 7 chances to grant Fervent Denial giving some leeway for mistakes (the buff stacks cap at 5 however, so it is not possible to get 7 stacks despite there being opportunities to do so), but Extreme only has the exact 5 chances needed to progress! If players have not let the boss reach at least 5 stacks by the time the hard-enrage longcast goes out, the party will wipe. . Fervent Denial also slightly increases damage dealt by the boss, so he will gradually hit harder and harder over time, plateauing right before the phase change. . After the boss uses its phase-shift move (what would normally be the yet-unnamed hard-enrage longcast), the stacking buff will disappear and the boss will become untargetable, beginning the DPS check phase.
DPS CHECK: . Unfinished from here on out-- but basically beating up… some kind of add, and while you do that the boss' mask slowly cracks with bright light before shattering into his second form and unleashing his ultimate attack (he becomes more agitated and spiny-looking but I never finished designing any of his forms so just imagine the possibilitiiiiies)
PHASE 2 & 3: . To be continued……. or not! maybe someday :')

Me with my crazy investigation board: here’s how yellowjackets can turn it around for me <3 if they simply kill off every male character I have ever had to perceive during the present timeline in the hour of screentime they have left I will not even question how dumb it is <3 fuck psychological horror, this can be a pure thriller slasher now <3 <3 walter and jeff are dragging both cops across the floor (how and why did walter kill them we don’t know and we don’t care shhhh nothing has to make sense) <3 randy shows up to save jeff and walter kills randy (why I don’t know! use your imagination!) <3 jeff tries to kill walter but of course he cannot, so shauna does (actually no maybe even callie) <3 jeff is like phew glad I survived all the murder that was crazy (cue ritual sacrifice) <3 IT COULD WORK OKAY

Here is another possibly controversial opinion but although john immediately made the situation worse, I'm not convinced he's the only one responsible for the state of the river. My points are:
A) the river seems linked to thanergy, if we extrapolate from the fact that trapping a soul gives you a huge well of energy to draw from, and there are a fuck ton of souls trapped in the river, so it would make sense that some of the ambient thanergy is coming from those souls, not just the little bursts of it after a death.
B) alecto gave john thanergetic powers before he was even aware of the river. And again, these powers aren't initially linked to the burst of energy after a death, they're linked to bodies that are stuck incorruptible. What are those souls doing? Are they really just gone, or are they in the river, still somehow linked to their bodies, unable to pass through to the opposite shore?
C) I think there's evidence to suggest that the souls of planets and the souls of their people or creatures are connected.
D) alecto may be holding onto the souls of her people rather than letting them pass through the river. At least, enough of them to power the thanergy she gives to john.
I keep wondering, why did alecto pick john, after all? He's surely not the person doing the most environmental good. But he is the one who clings to people at any cost, something she herself gifts him with the power to do. Something she's already doing too? After ten thousand years, alecto may be ready to let go. But john isn't, and he's connected her to him. What are the options now? Break the connection, accept the way she changes as a result, let the souls of her dead escape to wherever souls go. Or destroy them both. I think the next book is going to see alecto reckon with what john's done to her and THAT will involve changing the way the river works, but I don't think John actually has the power to fix the river on his own.

i find it interesting how anti theists will quote holy books and deny other interpretations of the text in favor of taking it literally. like yeah, a lot of literal religious interpretations are dogwater because of the time period they originate in. we still have the power to improve religion and welcome progressive ideas into religious spaces. but when you denounce religion by solely taking holy texts seriously? you are doing the exact thing youre against. youre treating religion as if it is a fact that is set in stone
