Dad: the capture the flag scene in the movie was good so I'm glad they're dedicating an entire episode to it

Ok one REALLY specific thing I’m unnecessarily upset they changed is Percy and Annabeths conversation in the zoo truck bc YES they did have a similar one on the train which they continued in the Lotus Casino HOWEVER the scene in Mark of Athena in the stables where Annabeth says she’s reminded of that moment is SO IMPORTANT TO ME!!!
(also Percy talking to the Zebra)

Not that I didn't love seeing Percy absolutely fail at driving the taxi (when he can barely see over the wheel and drives in true New Yorker fashion)...
But I also miss the cab driver they bribe with those Lotus Casino credit cards that make the card reader pop up with infinity signs. *sigh* He will be missed.

WHY was the fact that Ezri is technically around the same age(ish) as Jake and Nog not really brought up in DS9???? HELLO?????? We missed peak shenanigans of the three of them hanging out making pillow forts and being young 20-somethings together figuring themselves out despite the horrors of war!!! (Not to mention witnessing that would probably make for some good character moments with Kira) That would’ve been WAY better than watching her struggle to fill Jazia’s boots just because she happens to have the symbiont now and also whatever they thought they were doing with that thing between her and Worf and Bashir which was terrible- comphet really did wreak havoc on especially Ezri and Bashir’s characters in season 7.

As much as I liked season 3 and I'm actually really enjoying season 4 so far, I find myself missing one of the main things that absolutely drove me to the show (and movie) in its first two seasons: the physical reality of being a vampire and how much it sucked.
Seeing them be vampires with all it entails. Them drinking blood and getting covered in it, having to clean right after. Killing people and having to deal with the corpses. Not being able to go into places without being invited. Never seeing the sun, or daylight. It was all so pathetic and lonely and so so funny.
As a former emo teen with a twilight/Anne Rice phase, that was everything to me. I used to be Guillermo back in the day, just wanting so badly to be a vampire, be beautiful, graceful, powerful, sexy. And these fuckers were that (sometimes) but mostly they were so utterly stupid, pathetic, and sad. And their lives were not something to be envied but pitied, laughed at. It was one of the main themes of the show and I just miss it sometimes.
Anyway.... something, something, the grass is always greener.... something, something, be careful what you wish for.... something, something, I miss you vampires as an allegory and a metaphor for power and then being confronted with what it all actually entails....

petition for studio bones to stop animating bsd and instead get a better studio that won’t change or remove scenes to reanimate it with it’s actual artstyle ‼️

I kinda think Grover believes Hermes took the bolt. Is just the things he says while talking about the robbery with Ares: "someone Hades could recruit, someone who could slip away without being notice, someone stealthy". Hermes is an underworld worker, even if he's not famously recognized for it. Hades could have easily ordered him to do it, he's kinda his boss if you will. He says that not many people could pull of a robbery on the king of the universe's most important weapon. You would think no one could do it except the God of Thieves, someone with a godly power of stealth who could quickly took it during the solstice without anyone noticing.
What gets me is that gods cannot steal others gods things so I'm not quite sure why is Grover so sure about who's the thief. Unless he believes is a demigod but still how is he so sure about their identity. Unless in the show it's considered taboo for gods to take other god's things rather than a physical impediment. In the sense of, they can steal their stuff if they want to is just terribly frowned upon.
Anyway if he believes is Hermes i think it's amazing foreshadowing for what's next to come. Especially if they meet him next episode and my theories end up being correct: hermes playing a circumstantial villain in this season

i am seeing so many people (esp on tiktok) shitting on the new PJO show, especially the casino episode. and i don’t get it. rick told us not to compare the show to the movies and he outright said there would be changes from book to show. i dont understand why people are up in arms about the fact that the guy who created this universe is tweaking it to fit the current day and age and also the new format of an eight episode show.
i am a hardcore believer that if you want to re-live the feeling that the books gave you, re-read the books. no adaptation is going to be 100% the same, especially with such a huge time gap in between.
the show is based on the books but it is its own entity, just enjoy the new things that rick’s brilliant mind came up with! we all enjoy his writing and the amazing characters he’s created that so many of us relate to and care about.
also (apparently contrary to popular belief), i’m very excited to see where the rest of the show takes us because of the changes that were made in the most recent episode, like now i don’t know how it’s going to play out which is exciting!

okay my one qualm about the pjo episode today, that I just HAVE to address, is that they did not utilize the ingenious cinematic tool that is The Montage enough.
the lotus casino IS A MONTAGE. They are meant to be doing things!!!!! Many things!!!! Playing games and going to water parks and having spa treatments and stuffing their faces!!!! Annabeth plays a sims game!! Percy figures out that they’re stuck!!! Not this they know from the start and get out in twenty minutes business.
like…………. a montage would’ve been perfect, in fact they could’ve kept in the rest of the episode and new stuff they added, it wasn’t even a forty minute episode! Montage would’ve fit PERFECTLY.
thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Digital Good Omens 2 Sountrack is coming out in 4 days! 🥳 CD version in October! :) ❤ Coming soon on vinyl…
Out to Stream/Download from 25th August.
Out on CD 13th October. Coming soon on vinyl…
David Arnold’s ‘end of the world’ complex and multi-genre soundtrack.
From the Award-winning composer of Sherlock and Casino Royale comes a follow up to the hugely successful, Emmy nominated Good Omens soundtrack.
Good Omens series 2 premiered on Prime Video on 28th July. The series follows the odd couple, angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and demon Crowley (David Tennant) in their quest to sabotage the end of the World. The six-episode sequel to the popular adaptation of the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, concerns the Archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) arriving without his memories to Aziraphale’s bookshop. Aziraphale and Crowley attempt to find out what happened to Gabriel, whilst hiding him from Heaven and Hell, both eager to find him.
The Soundtrack
David Arnold’s soundtrack to Good Omens was first released in 2019 to favourable reviews, with BBC Music Magazine calling it “a rollicking trip to hell and back”. Blueprint Magazine described it as “a great listen” and Sci Fi Bulletin commented on “plenty of memorable themes” to conclude that “This is another work of art from Arnold”.
At times nostalgic and eerie but always varied, beautiful and full of excitement, the Good Omens 2 soundtrack showcases Arnold’s every skill from his composer arsenal. Featured here are orchestral arrangements with sprinkling of Sugar Plum Fairy pizzicato and percussion, jaunty strings and mighty choral sweeps from Crouch End Festival Chorus. Added to the mix are rock guitar riffs, and psychedelic 70s sounds and all together they create a haunting otherworldly feel, complementing the fantasy and the quirky humour of the show. The spirited Waltz of the opening theme is also present in the second series and it wonderfully sets the scene for fantastical mayhem. In series 2, this robust, evocative, and funny music entity, becomes yet again another character in the story.
Award-winning composer David Arnold is well known for his blockbuster scores, including Stargate, The Chronicles of Narnia: the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Hot Fuzz, Paul, Independence Day, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Casino Royale as well as for his TV work such as Sherlock and Dracula.
