#this stuff better be somewhere on the internet for a better price

Hey there, I hope I won't bother you with mu ramble too much, it's just I recently listened to a song and I just can’t get it out of my head that some lines from it are very suitable for a yandere Mikey vibe. Like, here:
" I dream of becoming you Complexity in the simplest request My soul sucks yours is much better No problem - Your only value is the price-a-a Ah-ah-ah You are a dream come true And you are the center of the universe Colors from a painting by Dali Envy no doubt You are one shot A mixture of blood and milk Somewhere between heaven and earth
Rumors said - I'm mediocrity My weakness Your success is a danger to me aa-aaaaaaah Envy
Your face is my temple Eye color of the wildest lilies join us Become an adherent of religion No problem, your soul is the price-ah-ah Ah-ah-ah You are my lifeline And you are the reason to drown The pride of the family, somehow suddenly become suicidal Unable to bear this burden Everyone will be better all the time (All the time, time...)
Rumors said - I'm mediocrity My weakness Your success is a danger to me aa-aaaaaaah Envy "
For some reason, the idea immediately came to my mind as Mikey notices on the Internet or at some exhibition the work of some artist (y/n in our case) and studying their work, his slight envy gradually develops into an obsession for the arts and their craft and it’s like such a mix of opposite and strong emotions that I think fits perfectly into his yandere aesthetic.
Anyway thanks for listening to me rambling about this stuff, hope you're having a great day/evening/night!
song by the way: Envy - Grad!ent Listen sometime you might like it
❄ -anon
I'm listening to it rn and I rate it 8/10- it's been a while since I've listened to any Russian music (by the way I picked up 5 words- that's pretty good since I can only speak like idk basic phrases)
Hi ❄ Anon- you'll be added to the list
Tw: obsession, Mikey literally develops almost an addiction to someone's art help-,
So I actually find this fabulous considering how originally the development of Yan Mikey is more admiration and not out of- more or less negative emotions.
I can totally picture him scrolling through the internet and discovering their art only to be filled with sudden envy and jealousy over their talents. He has the urge to conquer and become the better artist of the two. So he immediately tries to improve his skills, and he does in fact get better, but...he also can't help but go back to their posts and memorize every detail of their art style/artworks. And slowly but surely, he lays awake at night, wondering if they'll post new content soon: he's hungry for even a small sketch.
Hell, he'll probably try to learn the art style and copy it to perfection so he can live in their hands and eyes.

“I love you 100 times more!”
Please, Jack groans.

For fun; heres all the secondhand KOP merch that is decently priced somewhere on the internet, and ships to the US without a proxy, that I am currently considering buying, but something is holding me back. (it's usually money, but for some it's me knowing I would be upset that I didn't have all 3 members of Over the Rainbow)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's me ranting about why I haven't bought some of these
I really want the KakeTai doujin lol but $25 is just more than I can budget 😔 I think it's a fair price too I just would be pissed at myself if I spent that on 4 books in a language I do not read.
I also really want the $10 Kouji and Kazuki mochi's but I'm being held back because the Hiro I have will have a different outfit. I wish I could find Kazuki and Kouji in their Athletic Core outfits.
I'm really eyeing the Pride the Hero soundtrack CD too. I probably won't get it because I'd be mad at myself for buying CDs in 2023
Also the ebay listing for those 7 acrylics for $25 is a steal, I just don't really like the cast of characters it's so random. Same with some of the paper stands, if it had like the strong duos or OTR or Shin Louis or something I'd probably buy, but they're just a random assortment.
In the Mercari stuff the $26 listing has a pin I REALLY want, it's the Kouji cafe pin and I have the Hiro one so it'd make a good set, but I don't really want much of anything else there so I can't see myself dropping that much (A few of those listings have additional shipping costs and that's definitely one of them)
Now that you've read to the end (hi) let me explain that I'm disabled and cannot keep a job and therefore have no income, but I got $90 in a settlement and I plan on spending all of it on merch lmao I just need to be picky because once it's gone I'm not getting any more.
Here's a bonus that I did buy today:
Tumblr media
This photo sucks but I got the notif that the seller lowered the price on this one to $25 and I could not help myself oops!
I also almost got the diner amo cafe stuff on amiami but I couldn't decide if I wanted everyone or just OTR and I didn't realize preorders were closing soon so I missed them rip. I don't doubt there will be more up there eventually though, they did just announce a new amo cafe line the day after that one closed, but I'm not big on this new one. it's not on amiami yet though
Also no my biggest merch regret is not getting the Rainbow Live 10th anniversary Over the Rainbow acrylics. I love those outfits a lot a lot but I didn't go for them and it's like . not going to be possible now lol.
I also have like $60 left so realistically I could make a big purchase on Buyee from Yahoo auctions and get what I actually want, but god the fucking shipping is just so much it's disappointing.
I wasn't expecting to write a king of prism merch roundup holy shit I'm sorry have a good day 🤭 let me know if people enjoy this post and would want to see something like this again? or if you want a link to any of these specific items so you can poach them from me (if you buy the doujin I'll cry lmao) they all ship to America for like $10 or less. Also if money isn't as big of a problem for you as it is for me just buy from Buyee or ZenMarket please, if you can handle the $40 shipping you can get a ton of stuff at way better prices

The pains of doing digital art on a TN panel.
Huge rant/vent post so I burred it behind "read more"
It's no secret that I have never had the best kit. No. 2 pencils on printer paper, autodesk sketchbook express on a galaxy s5 and my finger (upgraded to a dollar store stylus later). My first pen digitizer had a diagonal width of like five inches and was made specifically to play Osu. I've always taken the scuffedness of my gear as a point of pride. It made all of my successes more impressive, and I could always deflect criticism by saying "eh, well my gear is pretty scuffed, maybe I'd do better if I had nicer stuff".
Then one day my screen got some dead pixels, so I replaced it with a new screen. Suddenly all the colors looked wrong, I'm used to it now, but damn those reds were really red on this new screen. It also made all of my previous stuff look different. It turned out that the old screen crushed all the blacks together, so I had tons of pieces that I remember being black but were actually very deep red. I even had some vector pieces where half the character was proper 0 0 0 black, but then the other half was 21 0 0 "black" which became very noticeable. While I thought this new screen was more color accurate, now I'm not so sure.
Tumblr media
Because look at this guy, depending on the quality of your screen he either has ZERO eyebrows, or he has very well defined almost cartoonishly visible eyebrows. It looks fine on my screen, but the whole internet isn't going to see it on my screen are they?
On laptops, especially budget ones, the screen is usually the part that gets shafted first. You gotta cut costs somewhere, and if you cut costs on the processor or ram people will notice quickly, the screen is the part of the computer that many people (especially gamer) will admit at gunpoint they care the least about.
Okay, well why don't I just get an external screen to do the art on? Solvable problem, right? Well all the external displays I see that are within my price range have even worse color accuracy! Yeah, manufacturers see "External display" and think, "Got it, put the most dogshit colors imaginable, 300 dollars please)
My current workflow is to export the image, then see how it looks on my phone, and then go back and tweak it after the fact. Frustrating. Sad. Angry.

Second post of a Disney Chills idea
Hewo again, ewewyone. Short time not seeing... I decided to make a second post since there’s one more character that i wanted to bring, but since i feared that i would reach the limit of space, i decided to leaved it to the side, but if you want to know who that might be, i am gonna tell, but first, if you don’t know what Disney Chills are (assuming you didn’t read the previous post), here’s a recap:
Disney Chills is a middle-grade Disney-themed horror series in the vein of Goosebumps, written by Jennifer Brody under the pen name Vera Strange.
Each book in the series focuses on a child making an unfortunate deal with a Disney Villain, such as Ursula, Dr. Facilier, or Captain Hook, and the terrible price they pay for having their wishes granted. The books also feature moral lessons on popularity, growing up, and other social issues kids face.
(Taken from TvTropes)
Now that you may know exactly what it is, i am going to talk about the “last” villain i thought for an i”die”a for a book. (i may envetually think of yet another one but that’s for another day)...
Chernabog
Tumblr media
The big black devil of fantasia, the (possibly) biggest representation of evil in all of Disney Canon and the most terrifying thing to come out of a disney anything. I have a feeling that Chernabog would fit quite well with the disney chills stories, but instead of making it a “greater scope villain” that ris the big antagonist of the series, i imagine him fitting as a sort of villain that would give a lesson with sad consequences. What sort of lesson would he bring or what sort of aesop is going to be like?
It’s basically about dabbling in the dark arts and the occult (yeah, similar to ansem, but i feel the latter fits for Chernabog better since ansem’s about the darkness of Someone’s heart.), as well, i kinda imagine the story taking place somewhere in hulett and sudance, with the Demon’s Tower Mountain being the version of the Bald Mountain that Chernabog would rise at the climax of the story. Our protagonist would be a girl who owns a supernatural club (haha, Touhou Sealing Club Reference) and she gets call out because she believes in such fantasies and stuff and gets ostracized about it, so she goes to find any other occult lovers in the forums and then, she finds about the “Bald Mountain” community, a club of occultists that follows The Black Demon’s Chernabog’s rule of unleashing the supernatural. she joins in and then after following a internet tutorial on how to summon “demons” (the demons would be the same ones from the night mountain section of fantasia 1940) and then she’s ready to show the world the truth of the supernatural!... only to fidn out that most of her school mysteiously vanish and then she find out that she accidentally summoned the Deity of Darkness Chernabog at the mountain, now terrorizing everyone with an army of dead souls, fiends, withches and demons. so now the protagonist would have to stop it before something worse happens (and then we get a sad ending that she fails, and the section of the city/town becomes a ghost town, while Chernabog returns to sleep before another celebration is heard. alternatively, it could be a bittersweet ending in which our protagonist utilizes the power of daylight to come and save the day while the demon succumbs and goes to “sleep”, but not before sending one of his “demons” and fiends to catch our protagonist while she’s asleep and brings her to the mountain, since she knows th truth, she was going to “entertaint” the demon for a long time... yeah, i suck at imagining endings on a wimp, as well plots too, sorry...)
Also, details i’m going to include but couldn’t find a way to manage to fite them in: Our protagonist is inspire/is an expy of Usami Sumireko and Usami Renko from Touhou Project, and she’s also a chuunibyou. There would be a reference towards the Owl House, neither as an in-universe show or even as a “location cameo” of the Boiling Isles and the Town Luz’s lives, probably Luz could be our protagonist’s friend in the internet prior the events of the show.
Outside of that, Our protagonist doesn’t have any club members, but has at least a friend (can be a boy or a girl) who cares about her and stuff.
So yeah, here’s another story i wrote out, what do you think of it? do you think is more likely to happen or not? Does Chernabog can be a full blow greater scope treatht. or just a one-off villain for this?
.. if you like it, please let me know, and if you know how can it be modified, i apreciate all the help i need.
(i might need to rework this someday in the future)

230112 confetti daydream
hello, good day, and welcome to another random post.
today's random topic: bath & body works body mist ehheehhe.
I'm not a fan of the strong scent of perfumes, especially those small, glass bottles showcased somewhere in Parkson, in glass container like that, it was called eau de parfum? I know perfumes has different names, according to the percentage of alcohol and fragrance oil and stuff, eau de parfum has long-lasting effect, but it felt like grown ups would wear (my mom doesn't wear any perfume tho) the highest perfume classification I ever had would be eau de toilette...
but my current to-go-to perfumes are from bath & body works. they have eau de parfum too, but like I said, I couldn't handle strong scents, so I opt to use body mist. my top bbw body mist are confetti daydream, sweet pea and butterfly. I bought other scents as well, but nothing can beat my top threes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
especially confetti daydream. I first bought confetti daydream in late 2020, and it was a mysterious scent because it's a seasonal scent! I have no idea what season it would be sell, perhaps winter, but this scent is really hard to get! none of my friends wore it too, perhaps I've gotten lucky with this scent. it has similar scent as butterfly; a newer scent they brought in and it quickly have gotten really popular. the thing about butterfly is that it has a sharper note than confetti daydream, if I'm not mistaken, they changed one note of scent only. was it pear?
anyways, I would reserve my time and money and look out for bbw sales on September, because the 2nd time I bought it was during Sept 2022. I made my first bottle of confetti daydream last for two years :3
ohhhhhh another thing that made me fall in love even better with confetti daydream is its packaging! the first bottle was a pink holographic one, which is really nice, but the second bottle they got rid of the holograph surface and change the colour to purple.
a win-win situation for me hehe
bath & body works, please make confetti daydream, a year-long scent :') the scent seem like cease to exist huhuhuhu I tried to find people who wore this scent on the internet, or people who recommended the scent, but I don't know.... people don't make reviews on it. but when I try to buy, IT ALWAYS SOLD OUT LIKE WHY? i thought no one knows hing. or was it an unpopular scent?
even my little sister loves the scent huuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu
I don't want to fight to buyyyyy~ there's so many people who bought it in bulk and sell it at a higher price huwaaaaa
that's all hehe
p/s: I've switched to spotify after four months of apple music hehehehehe

The point of Zen
Gnome Logic:
Read Zen books --> ??? --> Profits!
Somewhere Tai Lopez is lurking, I hear him saying, "Just read books guys, better yourself, then you will be rich like me", says the guy standing in front of someone elses sports car.
Yeah, because that is the point of Zen. ;)
Years living in a Zen Center, running the place at times, I found that people come to Zen for all the wrong reasons.
"I want to be a Zen Master because"....
Its cool, people will pay you for lectures and think anything you say is 'the shit'.
Rich fat cats will give donations to build temples and stuff.
Everyone will love me
Don't have to do the 9 to 5
I can do anything I want, because enlightenment says I can.
Slick speaking Zen Roshi sells you this dream, this "enlightenment" or this Zen Lifestyle that only he can attain. Yet, just like all the other Fake Internet Gurus, they convince you that "You to can live the Zen way like they do", and of course it comes with a price.
A lot of guys read Zen books because the alternative is what? This non-culture of consumerism? It is a machine, not a culture, and not one that is viable or sustainable. How will reading a Zen book change this? It doesn't. That is why Dispensaries are legalized everywhere; far easier to check out than to get out.
Yet, if you actually take Zen seriously for a moment, you realize that this Zen is just a preliminary to the greater path, the Eight Fold Path that is known as 'The Way' -- being the way out!
Suddenly this Zen game is playing for keeps. Getting out of this crap-hole of mortal existence seems not such a bad idea after all, and suddenly Zen makes sense.

A trip to this companies ?
A trip to this companies ?about us? page serves to quickly establish their position as the anti-fraud internet company, numbering abusive tactics used by hoaxsters and detailing their humble beginnings from an LA area backyard garage to a B2B powerhouse that now offers almost 100,000 computer related items from a network of 23 distribution centers nationwide.
This may someday be 'made for the movies? stuff if it's true. Move over Microsoft, Apple, and HP ? here's what could (hopefully) be the beginning of another rags to riches story with an ?honest? plot twist! An honest reseller bashes Internet JIS standard Spiral Wound Gasket scammers, preferring to do business the hard way ? the honest way. Are we dreaming? Could this be real? Could the days when ?The Customer is King? be making a comeback in of all places, the web?
TheHonestCompany expects to earn a significant portion of the home and SMB computing technology markets web-based sales over the next few years.
?Top-tier technology resellers like CDW and CompUSA will not bother us as we will not impact them. They have decent reputations, loyal customers, and higher prices. It's the second-tier, priced-based 90% of their smaller competitors that we are fighting,? says the founder of TheHonestCompany, David Johnston, ?Those guys have corrupted the Internet and seriously hurt honest companies like ours. Every-time some scam web company rips off a customer, somewhere else a real person at a real company gets hurt too. By using honesty as a weapon, we intend bring the web consumer something they are starving for by making the web a better place to shop ? it's a dirty job that no other company was willing to be the first to start doing.?
According to David, Internet technology consumers have no idea of the great extent that fraud permeates the web. He says that if every web consumer knew what he knew about the extent of internet fraud, they'd pick one or two honest, technology web sales companies to do business with and lay low for awhile, because he says he's got some serious mud to start slinging as his company gears up for an upcoming advertising and marketing blitz. ?There's a massive pack of internet companies pretending to be real when they are not. Most other legitimate web companies have been acting rather sheepish. I intend to kill wolves by exposing them as what they really are to the Internet public.?

Run datacrow on synology
Tumblr media
#RUN DATACROW ON SYNOLOGY FULL#
It's a shame since this NAS has the price tag and the performance elsewhere to match these network speeds. There are four Gb ports that can be linked up and have failover support, but it would have been nice to see 2.5Gb or 10Gb ports available. Whether you're looking at a serious performer for Plex media streaming or a capable workhorse for the office, the DS2419+ has enough horsepower to get the job done. The Intel CPU with the upgradable RAM (up to 32GB) allows one to do many tasks on the NAS simultaneously. With the Synology DX1215 installed, you can bump that 192TB up to a whopping 384TB. This 12-bay monster of a NAS can store up to 192TB of data on installed drives. The Synology DS2419+ comes rocking an Intel Atom C3538 processor, throwing the Celeron family out of the chassis. Best capacity: Synology DiskStation DS2419+ But if you're looking for one of the most powerful NAS enclosures in Synology's catalog, this is about as good as you can get. Synology opted for 1Gb only, which is a shame, especially given the competition is already moving away from 1Gb ports. The issue with this NAS is the lack of any 2.5Gb LAN ports. Other than these improvements, the two NAS are pretty much identical in size and design.
#RUN DATACROW ON SYNOLOGY FULL#
Then you have full enclosure support (via the eSATA port), allowing you to throw in the Synology DX517 into the mix and add a further nine drives. This enclosure also supports up to 8GB of RAM, compared to the 6GB in the DS420+. This enclosure comes rocking an Intel Celeron J4125 CPU, one of the best in Synology's lineup and better than what's found inside the DS420+. What differentiates this four-bay NAS from the DS420+ is the processor. Synology's DS920+ is a serious piece of kit, which is why it costs considerably more than our recommendations thus far. Best for plex: Synology DiskStation DS920+ The best part of the DS220j is that it runs the exact same OS as the more premium options from Synology, DSM. Not everyone requires a NAS, where a simple external drive will do, but if you can work one into your life, it'll transform how you do numerous things. It's affordable, meaning you can pick up a NAS to see whether it's for you and your situation. But if you fancy doing some more intense tasks like media streaming, you'll have to look elsewhere. For streaming music, storing files, downloading stuff from the internet, and backing up your PC, the DS220j is excellent. The CPU is a Realtek RTD1296, which basically means it's not that powerful. If you need somewhere to back up data and don't trust the cloud, this is a great solution. This NAS is ideally positioned for those who are new to the world of NAS. If you want to save some money but still try out a NAS at home, the DS220j is an excellent budget-friendly option. Still, this is a solid NAS with four bays for plenty of network storage. This isn't a massive problem for most NAS owners who only have 1Gb networks but is something to note if you plan on upgrading your LAN infrastructure. The issue with the DS420+, like the DS220+, is the lack of any 2.5Gb ports. Because we're looking at an additional two bays, Synology included an extra fan, which means the DS420+ runs cool, and you barely notice any noise. If the DS220+ isn't quite good enough for your needs or simply seek something with a little more functionality, the DS420+ is a great step up and takes our runner-up spot. Then there are the smaller differences, like the addition of M.2 SSD cache support and an eSATA port. This NAS also has four bays instead of two. Instead of the front plate, you've got full access to the drive bays without having to detach anything. The Synology DS420+ is essentially the same as the DS220+, but with a few notable differences. The included app store allows for a whole host of services and third-party apps to be downloaded and installed. It's brilliantly designed, acting much like the OS you use daily on your computer. So the hardware is pretty good, but what makes Synology our top recommendation against competing vendors is the DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS. It would have been nice to see 2.5Gb ports here, but being able to link the two 1Gb ports up does help. On the rear, you'll find the two USD 3.0 ports, as well as two 1Gb LAN ports. You've got a front panel that covers the drive bays, resulting in a cleaner look. This is more than enough for most NAS owners who are new to the market, and the 2GB of non-upgradable DDR4 RAM is brilliantly matched to the Intel Celeron J4025 processor. This enclosure has two drive bays, allowing for up to 32TB of data to be stored. The best overall NAS from Synology is the DiskStation DS220+.

Nokia N8 Mobile Phone Reviews
Many of us who in order to cutting inside the Mac version of Avid's Media Composer have felt a bit neglected throughout few years, and to a certain extent, rightfully which means. We sat and watched as Avid got the wind knocked out of it by Apple's introduction of Final Cut Pro. Apple's lower prices and integration with newer versions within the Mac OS came as the great success in the democratization of media and Apple ran a full court press on Avid's dominance among the digital editing tools market. Avid struggled to find their way as the price tag on editing tools dropped, and also the company that created and dominated modern digital editing found themselves having toplay catch-up. In addition, the phone supplies good connectivity options like; 3G HSDPA, HSCSD, WLAN Wi-Fi, EDGE, wireless connectivity, cabled USB connectivity and GPRS technology. An internal Internet browser allows customers to try a XHTML & HTML Web surfing experience from the B7610. It adds up Microsoft Windows Mobile ten.1 OS and Document Viewer supports Word, Excel, PDF and Power point. Somewhere in autocad download for pc , though, Syntrillium resolved to add multi-track functionality as well. autocad crack serial number and product key worked pretty well for basic stuff. Experienced a toggle button permit you to exchange between the multi-track and editing display screens. As version progressed, they added more and more to the multi-track part of the program. But things just got kind of complicated as well as the midi stuff was not great. So when Reaper (by Cockos) seemed to be in about 2006, I jumped to it as my primary DAW and stopped using the multi-track amount of Audition, though I still use it for editing and learning. I start putting 10 ApowerEdit .0 through it's paces and at the possible risk of sounding hyperbolic, it is ROCKING. No latency, no glitchiness, (my word, Colbert) picture quality is noticeably and substantially better as well as the playhead is slicing through multi-layer, real-time effects and title comps like "butta". I've got reels with 20 audio tracks, 3-5 video tracks, I'm deleting, re-patching, copying and pasting, I make tons of cuts and changes and Media Composer doesn't flinch once. I start getting a warm and fuzzy feeling and think, this can be a beautiful issue. These guys have really done their homework. The phone comes with Microsoft Windows Mobile an affordable vacation.1 OS. The document Viewer belonging to the mobile encourage all kinds of documents in many kinds of formats like PDF, Word, Excel and even Powerpoint. The special Global positioning systems facility features Way finder Navigator 7 and A-GPS function. The Quad band technology can cover GSM 850 to GSM nineteen hundred. The mobile is known as for the extensive messaging service consists of all kinds of messages like email, SMS, RSS and MMS. Do you want to appear the actual world ad as spokesperson on your own business? If so, you will make your TV commercial even more affordable. Once you've included every one of these elements, you should that you start with the final in mind when writing your program. What is it you would like your prospective customer to feel after watching your commercial and what is it you long for them to do after watching it? Keep those thoughts in head as you're posting and you absolutely need an effective ad. Do not let the television station write your script under any circumstances! Photography enthusiast can enjoy photography featuring a 3.2 mega pixels camera with few attributes such as Photo Geo Tagging Photo Editor, Auto Focus, Video Editor, and Flash. You're able to listen inside your favorite songs with its music player that learns how to play WMA, WAV, MP3, AND AAC+, files and MPEG4, H263, WMV9 and H264 format files end up being played for your video player of Samsung B7330 Omnia Pro contract mobile phone. autocad crack code can make video calling using its secondary video calling camera and can enjoy music using its FM a radio station.

Rural Accessibility Matters
We really do not talk enough about how the move to streaming and banning local copies absolutely screws over rural folks so much.
It’s one of the reasons that for the things I make available for free, why I do not make them read only copies. I always try to make it so you can save it to your personal collection. It’s part of why I provide the vast majority of my writing for free because I know it’s expensive as hell to develop and maintain a library of local copies. It’s part of why I prefer to work in mediums that don’t require special knowledge to copy and save - written and visual.
For years I did that as someone who had grown up rural but moved to a city out of consideration for the strong ties I still had in the country.
But now I’m looking at having to move back.
One of the first things my parents mentioned when we discussed moving in with them was that the internet is generally very poor. There are times when there are none and even when they have it, the ability to stream media is incredibly limited.
At first, I wasn’t that concerned. I thought well I’ll just go back to what I used to do - store local copies. But it turns out, that it’s not only incredibly hard by virtue of there being very few and very limited store fronts to purchase them but most work arounds are illegal. So people who are denied access to good internet by monopolies that use the “there’s not enough people living here to merit the upgrades” excuse are also denied of media generally.
Are there some options? Yes. But they’re nearly all expensive or toeing the line legally.
I think what’s more frustrating than anything is that when I try to talk to people about this issue they act as if it’s natural. It is not.
Other countries with similar economies have better internet speeds across the board and with far better rural internet access. This is a manufactured issue that providers depend on convincing you is “natural”.
Why this is a rural specific issue is that when I’ve gone without internet in cities, it was pretty easy to walk or take a short drive into a place with internet and the libraries were close + well stocked. I could easily get to a place with free wifi, download stuff to my phone, and delete it to make space for more. Many apps would auto clear things I’d already listened to or watched but it wasn’t an issue because daily I’d walk down to the dentist office or the creepy strip mall or whatever I was near and grab more.
It’s not as easy when you’re rural. With gas prices rising it’s expensive just to drive to get internet somewhere. Local copies provide a more stable turnover and are able to be stored in long term formats like external hard drives or local servers that don’t need to be cleared out to make room for new stuff nearly as often. Yes it’s nice that when I actually can get to a library I can download ebooks and audiobooks - but when they disappear after 2 weeks and there are more barriers to me getting back to the library - that impacts my access to books. A local copy can be read again and again in the meantime.
What’s been especially frustrating to see is primarily metropolitan based artists who make providing no download options (paid or free) for their work the norm based on the argument that artists deserve control over their work. While yes, that’s true that artists deserve control, to not even provide a method for those who need local copies to get one, you’re ensuring your work will only ever be consumed by people who are also in areas that were deemed important enough for good internet and pushing people toward criminalized methods of obtaining that media - which artists love to shit on.
You can call it stealing all you want, but if you make ads or small streaming kickbacks your only revenue stream and don’t even provide a way for people who need local copies to pay you...to me at least there’s always going to be an undercurrent of saying “sucks to suck” to rural folks especially.
This mentality is always especially egregious to me from people in cities who are making work informed by folk traditions that originated in rural areas still deprived of internet access. Indie bluegrass/folk musicians are a great example of this. I don’t want to slam this artist by name but I was looking to see if I could pick up a CD or digital download of an older album by a indie folk artist I like and just could not find it. I don’t think it’s available. Unsurprisingly, when I checked, they live in NYC and are from a city in their home state.
Compare that to folk musicians still living in Appalachia or the South - Appalshop works with so many musicians to not only help the record, mix, and master their music but makes local copies available for purchase for every artist I’ve seen them work with.
This goes for writing too. So many folks currently making work in genres with DIY histories have no DIY ethos anymore. If you’re blogging and putting your thoughts directly into the hands of readers, you are, to some degree at least, participating in a culture influenced by zine and DIY punk movements generally.
It’s worth thinking about how those people thought of media - as something they wanted to get into as many hands as possible for as cheaply - both to producer and consumer - as possible.
Read about anticopyright and copyright alternatives. Get familiar with critiques of permission culture. Consider what hard copies and digital local copies you’ll make available.
You have decisions to make. Will you plaster your works with “DO NOT SAVE, DO NOT STEAL” disclaimers or will you openly let people know they’re welcome to save a local copy of your work? Will you depend on ads or will you make your videos + music + podcast available to saving locally (and let people know how to pay you)? It’s not simple or straightforward and it requires a certain level of knowledge folks who’ve grown up in the streaming era may not have. I know I’m still in the process of figuring it all out and I grew up in the era of ripping any and all CDs you could get your hands on.
But how you answer these questions will directly impact rural access to your materials so it’s worth taking the time to consider.
And if you’re someone living in a “developed” area and you need a personal reason to care about this shift - the internet is no where near the given it’s being treated as right now. Governments around the world have effectively shut down or majorly limited internet at the drop of a hat. Natural disasters are not only more common but are taking longer to bounce back from when they occur in areas they historically haven’t (Texas Ice Storm 2021). Cyberattacks are escalating in what they target.
These are issues that impact all of us and really we all should be looking at what we can do to build out our local file collection no matter where we live. It’s just that rural access tends to be the canary in the coal mine on these issues and it’s high time more folks started paying attention.
All of this is to say that while I know there’s not such thing as universally accessibility, folks need to at least consider the needs of rural folks a whole lot more.

writing resources masterlist.
i have to admit. my first reason for doing this was to spite my brain because it wouldn’t write. so, instead, i made this.
so here. 160+ links. gathered from a million questionable google searches, and some more crawling through mobile chrome tabs for 11 hours. anyways, enjoy!
where to write!
some popular platforms:
google docs is my choice for writing. it’s free, auto saves, you can access your stuff on mobile, pc, tablet, etc., and great for multi person collabs + link sharing. but, you need internet to use it, and for big documents (upwards of 55k words) it takes a while to load on pc, and editing on mobile is damn near impossible.
scrivener is great too, and has the binder, which is great for organizing stuff. however, the mac version is way, way ahead of the pc in terms of updated versions. i mean, the pc version is still useable. and, it’s pretty expensive at $45 usd.
microsoft word is really popular, and used pretty much everywhere. there’s templates and you can save documents in different formats, and compatible with other microsoft office programs too. it’s also a bit complicated at the start, but tbh most software is gonna be like that. sort of in the same boat as scrivener, as in, it costs money. usually a subscription, but if you decide to buy it flat out, it’s even more pricy, but def worth it imo.
other writing platforms:
zenwriter 3 for windows and mac - $17.50 usd
focuswriter - free
libreoffice - free
credit to @scribeofred for help with this. she has an amazing writing blog that’s super helpful, so definitely check it out! and she’s a professional editor, so it’s coming from someone who knows what they’re doing.
writing by hand is great too. some people can focus better that way, or, if you have a drawing tablet, you can write get the feeling of writing, and have it digitally too.
of course, you could just type into your notes app, or ao3, or a tumblr draft post, but let’s not-
focusing!
spotify, youtube premium, and tidal are all great for listening to music. all of them, except for the free version of spotify, have a subscription.
but maybe music isn’t your thing! here’s some more stuff:
rainforme is a rain/thunder player with adjustable volume
coffitivity for café ambience
ambient mixer has a ton of different ambience, and even lets you create your own.
noisli has playlists for different situations and has a built in timer and editor.
asoftmurmur lets you make your own mixes with their own, generally nature-focused sounds.
tabletopaudio with a focus on fantasy/noir ambience
mynoise has a lot of variety in sounds, including a...black hole
forest is an app/extension that grows a forest, for however long you manage to stay off of blacklisted sites, and dies when you revisit them. good for studying or a distraction-free writing experience (if you’ve got the restraint for it), but if you need resources on hand to write, this might not be good for you.
moodboards!
wanna make a moodboard? lit! here’s some ways to get your images.
unsplash (my journalism teacher, out of all the people recommended it to us. regardless, it’s a great way to source copyright free and not-stolen images.)
canva is much the same with no copyright issues, and actually lets you design the board on the site.
adobe spark is also good and free.
now. pinterest. don’t get me wrong, it’s great for finding images. but it’s full of stolen images and all. so, maybe don’t source your stuff from there.
character development!
behind the name name generator for different ethnicities, includes other character info like physical stats, language, age, blood type, cause of death, etc.
16personalities personality test
character flaws

character archetypes
character questionnaire
a super in-depth questionnaire for all stages of your character’s life
character development
creating a look for your character!
so maybe you’re not great at drawing. that’s okay!
first off, there’s a ton of amazing, talented artists here, that you can commission to get a picture of your character done. i’d definitely point you towards them first, because you help support them, and you also get some gorgeous art too!
but if you don’t have the funds for that right now, here’s some generators, to have one regardless.
picrew’s really popular, so here’s some generators i found, with social media linked for credit:
sky: children of light character maker (i didn’t see any social media, just a link to the game’s terms of service) aka the one i use in my tumblr prof pic

nat geo has an awesome interactive world map, with options to see a ton more info like population density, animal populations, language diversity, and just a lot of stuff in general for irl maps.
mapchart is great for irl custom maps.
this one is also good, a bit laggy and auto-generates a map, but def useable. here’s a how-to for it.
geoguesser lets you pick somewhere on the world map, and it’ll show you that location on google maps.
and of course, there’s the classic ‘spill uncooked rice/macaroni on paper, trace the outline, and go from there’ technique.

general advice!
jot down ideas when you get them!
don’t force yourself to write, or else you’ll burn out. and that’s never good.
have snacks and drinks handy if you’re going to be writing for an extended amount of time. even if you’re not, your brain needs fuel to run.
so, drinks like tea and water. snacks that aren’t oily/greasy or crumbly (i mean, do you really want that on your paper or keyboard?),
and on that note, for god’s sake use the bathroom frequently.
if you have difficulty concentrating, get something like a fidget cube or something to help. or take a nap.
if you don’t think your writing is good at first, just keep. writing. it’s a skill, and the more you write, the better you’ll get.
beta readers and outside opinions are very helpful. and please, never antagonize them first.
first drafts are messy! and done > perfect the first time around.
probably more stuff but it’s been 11+ hours and i want to play skyrim already so take it.
